Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All, a Bravo by Betches podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With me, Dylan Hafer.
Who's on check me, boo?
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention It All podcast.
It's Wednesday.
It's Dubai reunion time.
We've got some Miami updates.
We've got some Salt Lake City tea.
And boy, oh boy, what a day is it.
I'm a little, I would say I'm debate hungover this morning,
meaning that I did not drink or consume anything last night, but I just feel like my soul is a little tired.
I'm sure you can relate if you watched the debate on Tuesday night, but hopefully some of you made more fun choices.
Like watching the Dubai reunion.
Is that more fun?
I don't know.
We'll see about it.
I'm excited next week we have Real Housewives of Salt Lake City returning, and I had the pleasure earlier this week of sitting down with Heather Gay in the studio to talk all about it.
So that is going to be coming out next Monday, my interview with Heather.
I had a really good chat with her.
It was good to catch up.
I don't think she was on the show last season on this show, not on Real House.
It's just Salt Lake City.
But I've watched the premiere.
I think it's going to be a really fun season.
There's a lot of a lot of fun conflict that maybe feels a little bit lighter than some of the stuff we've dealt with in the past on Salt Lake City.
But I'm sure they will take it to some dark places too.
But yeah, Heather's coming up on Monday.
and then, of course, recaps starting.
I think the season starts on Wednesday night.
So I might do kind of like what I've been doing with OC,
where I kind of record early and then put the episodes out after the show airs on Wednesdays.
But we'll see.
There's going to be lots of Salt Lake content coming soon.
And now that Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has totally been taking off,
I feel like I just am in the Utah spirit,
which is not something I expected to be feeling, you know, for the whole month of September.
But I kind of like it.
And those, since I talked about Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on Monday, I feel like that show has just been getting more and more traction.
Like every, every second TikTok on my For You page is about Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
I've actually been, I've been like suckered into actually following some of them on TikTok, which the whole time I was watching the show, I was like, I don't need to, I don't need to follow Macy on TikTok.
And then I'm like, wait, I actually think I do.
I think that's something that I need.
The Salt Lake Ladies have actually, though, spent more time in New York.
than in Utah this week.
They've been around for New York Fashion Week.
Heather was doing press.
There was a watch party last night
that I think Meredith and Lisa were also at.
And Lisa's been doing New York Fashion Week.
And in page six, we got a report
that she had lost yet another expensive ring.
There's a page six report about how she was at the after party
for the Sergio Hudson show.
And she was dancing behind the DJ booth.
And she was having so much fun.
And a $100,000 ring
flew off her finger. Now, if you think back to last year, why does this sound familiar?
Of course, it's because Lisa lost her 60K ring in the bathroom at the, I don't know, the Palm Springs Airport.
It was the whole thing. Monica was like lightly accused of maybe stealing this ring.
I don't think Monica was invited to the Sergio Hudson after party. So we've got a different ring culprit.
It actually was returned to Lisa the next day. But I just love this quote from the page six article about it.
Quote, having this be her first NYFW, it didn't start with a sparkling start.
She was certainly sad, a source told page six.
Lisa's always cold, so her rings are always falling off.
The source added, of the jewelry snafu.
First of all, I love that we're getting an anonymous source about Lisa's non-sparkling start
to her first New York Fashion Week, but also like an anonymous source being like,
this bitch is always cold, so her rings are just flying off her fingers.
It's like, why is that something that we're getting an anonymous source quote about?
Also, like, get jewelry that fits.
Lisa does seem like the kind of person who, like, you know, like that kind of like
rich lady who's like a little bit bony who just has like big jewelry that's always kind of like
slipping and sliding around on their fingers and wrists and stuff.
Like I think that Lisa maybe should stick to pieces of jewelry that are like clamped onto
her body a little more like a bracelet or a neck, a necklace.
or a ring or like a earring.
I just think, why are we spending $100,000 on a ring that can just like,
whoop, right off of your finger at a party?
She's lucky she got it back.
Can you imagine if she didn't?
It would be, I tweeted this yesterday and now I kind of want to write this myself.
But like if Agatha Christie was still alive, she would write a murder mystery novel
about Lisa Barlow's missing rings.
I would read that.
Like nobody's allowed to leave the Palm Springs Airport bathroom until we find this ring
or until we find who did it.
That sounds exciting.
But some news that really, I was shocked.
I was absolutely gobsmacked on Monday night to see that Rachel Zoe and her love,
her longtime love, Roger, are getting into force.
Now, this would have been a shock to the system no matter what.
But if you recall, if you're caught up on this podcast,
I talked about the Rachel Zoh project last week.
This show from 2008 that I had not ever seen an episode of.
Last week, I had to pre-record a Labor Day episode.
And I was like, what should I talk about?
And I was like, let me watch five episodes of the Rachel Zoh project from 2008.
And I did an episode about it.
And I was talking about how Rachel and Roger were like this couple that had just been through it all.
And they had kids.
they, you know, they were always annoyed at each other, but they really loved each other.
And so to see this just one week later, what did I do?
Did they, did Roger listen to my episode and was like, you know what?
Rachel is annoying.
No, I don't, I don't presume to, um, to be that important that I had any impact on the end of their marriage.
But I'll just read, um, I'll read what Rachel posted it.
this is an Instagram feed post and it's a black background with white serif font.
I can't tell if this is an Instagram story font that she like screenshoted or if she maybe
made this in a Canva template.
But you know, it's tasteful.
The font is simple.
I like that.
When people do their like apology statement or breakup statement or whatever and it's like a funky
font or like weird colors, I'm like, have a little demurity.
Get your shit together.
Did you see Dave Grohl's announcement
that he had a baby outside of his marriage?
And it's like this weird, like,
modern, sleek-looking black font on a white background.
And I'm like, first of all, it's ugly.
But second of all, I'm like,
I don't want to think about how you, like,
scroll through the font choices
when you're acknowledging that you had a love child.
I know nothing about Dave Grohl.
People are like,
my life is ruined now that I know that Dave Grohl's a cheater. And I'm like, that's not important to me.
But whatever. Rachel's Owen, Roger. Back to back to the point. After 33 years together and 26 years
married, Roger and I have come to the mutual decision to end our marriage. We are incredibly proud of the loving
family we have created and our countless memories together. Our number one priority has been and will
always be our children. We are committed to work to co-parent our boys and to continue to continue.
to work together within the many businesses we share. We ask for privacy during this time as we
navigate this new chapter. With love and gratitude, Rachel and Roger. Bananas. It's bananas.
And I just was thinking, this didn't even click for me until this morning when I was putting this
in the outline. It's the height of New York Fashion Week right now. How bad does it have to be
for Rachel Zoe to be focusing on her personal
life during New York Fashion Week.
She's probably running around to 47 different events a day in a fur coat that six size
is too big for her being fucking freezing cold, even though it's like 79 degrees outside
with a venty Starbucks tea double bag, drop a half and half.
I remember the order, as does Brad Goreski.
How many of an alarm fire does this have to be for her to be like, you know, we have to
put out the statement.
I don't even care that it's Fashion Week.
I'll skip the Alexis Bataa event.
We got to get this up.
It's crazy.
Now, it does seem from the tone of this statement like they are in an okay place.
You know, they talk, I mean, they, she.
Did Roger read this before it was posted?
That's my question.
That's a question.
I guess I have a lot of questions.
But it does seem like they're in a good enough place.
You know, they're talking about co-parenting.
They're going to continue to work together within the many businesses we share.
I'm like, first of all, I want to list to the businesses.
It's a little bit like founder and CEO of what?
Like, I know that Rachel's O is like a businesswoman and I'm sure that they have, you know, ventures and things that we don't know about.
But I'm like, is like, do you still have like a Coles collection?
Like, I feel like a lot of those business ventures kind of fell off.
Like, I don't think she's still doing a monthly edit for Piper Lime that went out of business in 2015.
No, but I'm sure Rachel and I'm sure Rachel and Roger are doing lots.
apparently this is like not actually that much of a surprise if you like the true heads know if you're paying attention.
One of their sons bar mitzvah was earlier this year, I think, and they like didn't have any pictures together at the bar mitzvah, which like mayhaps a red flag.
But I don't know.
It does just feel like there are not a lot of those Bravo couples from this like 2008 to 2012 era.
but the ones that are still standing,
it is kind of like, oh, like another, you know,
a column of this house has fallen,
a support beam.
Like, it's like imagining if,
it's like if Ken and Lisa broke up.
It's like if,
I'm trying to think of like anybody,
any other good marriage.
Like if Caroline Manzo was getting a divorce,
I don't know.
I mean, it's, it's a moment.
And it just,
I mean,
the timing is really just free.
because literally two weeks ago, this would have meant almost nothing to me.
And people would have been sending it to me and I would be like, okay.
But like I said, bananas.
So good, so good, so good.

Girl, winter is so last season. And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with
hungry eyes. Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs. You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.

And you've had enough of shopping from your couch. Done hoping it looks anything like the picture
when you tear up on that envelope. It's time for a little in-person spring treat. It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic. Now, we do have an update also on Real Housewives of Miami, and this is also disappointing,
but not necessarily shocking. So, of course, for months and months and months, we've been like,
why are the cameras not up in Miami? Well, as of this week, the cameras are up. The girls are
filming. Our ladies are back, except for not all of them, because page six is.
also reporting, and I've seen lots of rumors flying around, that Dr. Nicole Martin will not be
returning for this season of Real Housewives of Miami. She, of course, has been on the whole reboot
time, three seasons, and has been kind of a standout among the new women. And she has not confirmed
this yet. It's being reported. It's being rumored. It's the kind of thing we're usually with this,
like, if there's smoke, there's fire. She took Real House of Is of Miami out of her Instagram bio,
which like, you know, tale as old as time, that doesn't have to mean anything, but sometimes it does.
The reason I am not very surprised about this, even though I wish it weren't true, say it ain't so.
When I had Nicole on the show last season of Miami, I think it was like around the beginning of this year, 2024,
she was pregnant with her daughter that she gave birth to, I think, in March.
and we talked about the idea of going through having a kid on the show.
And of course, she has a young son, Grayson, that we have seen on the show who is, you know,
he's like still a little kid.
But she wasn't on the show yet when she gave birth to him and when he was an infant.
And when I talked to Nicole earlier this year, I kind of made a joke about how like with Teresa Judice,
we were cameras in the delivery room, you know, when she gave birth to Adriana.
And Nicole was like, yeah, that's not going to be me.
And in general, she didn't seem that into the idea of going through, like, having a baby on this show.
And to me, I can really understand that as somebody, Nicole is one of the foremost examples of somebody on Housewives who absolutely does
not need this show. Like, do you see how fucking rich they are? If you can afford to fly private
everywhere and have like a big ass boat and live in like one $50 million house while you renovate
the other one, you don't need the housewives paycheck. And she's a fucking doctor too. She's an
anesthesiologist. So if you have housewives, you know, coming back around and of course they
They had their lengthy hiatus, so now this baby is what, like six months old?
I can totally see why somebody in Nicole's position would be like, you know what?
I actually don't think that this is what I need to be spending my time on for the next six months.
I'm going to sit this one out.
I'm going to, like, be at home with my baby.
I don't know if she's working in the hospital right now.
I hope she's not.
I mean, sit back and do what you need to do.
And like if she, assuming that she, you know, is sitting out of this season on good terms, there's no reason to think that in a year or two she might not be welcomed back with open arms.
Or even if she just wants to be, you know, invited to Gertie's events now and then.
Like, I don't think that we've necessarily seen the end of Dr. Nicole on Real Housewives.
But I think that there are key reasons why it makes sense for her to not do this season.
and as much as I enjoy her on the show,
as much as I think she's like a great presence in that cast,
I'm not like totally crestfallen
because I think it makes a lot of sense.
But I'm glad they're filming.
I'm so glad they're filming.
I just, you know, I hope everybody's doing a good job.
And I hope they like kind of,
I hope they get the ball rolling pretty quick
so we can see that season before like next fall.
Shall we talk about the Real Hostages of Dubai reunion?
I suppose we shall.
Um, season two, we're back.
Their set is really cute.
It's like very, uh, it's very, like Dubai chic.
They filmed this reunion in New York, which is, it's always funny to me that like,
the amount of time these women's been on planes, I just can't even fathom.
Caroline Brooks admits that she flew, emmer, it's not private.
She's like, it's basically like private.
I'm like, well, it's, it's not.
But, you know, it's a nicer plane that I'm flying on.
Going into this reunion, though, I feel like, and I talked about this last week with
the finale, I feel like there are some key things from the season that were just kind of like
didn't quite deliver what I was hoping for, what I was expecting in terms of storylines,
in terms of in terms of, in terms of Ayan and Lisa, in terms of some of the stuff with,
you know, Brooks and Tallinn, I think, kind of, you know, it like, it got lost in translation
a little bit. So I do think in terms of, as, as reunions go, it's not like this is a reunion that
is so highly anticipated, like, I can't wait, it's appointment television. But I do think there are,
there are some Housewives reunions where you kind of go into it being like, okay, I guess it'll be
fun to like revisit some stuff, but I don't really necessarily have a list of questions. And I think
that specifically, especially in the case of Ayan and Lisa, I kind of do. And right off the bat,
they're clearly not doing well. Andy's doing his introductions. And he's doing his introductions. And
And Ayan is like saying under her breath that Lisa said she'd do anything to sit next to Andy this season, even if it was throwing her friend under the bus.
This is just like, I don't really enjoy on a reunion when somebody like can't keep it in.
Like the Ayan and Lisa stuff, I'm like, we will get to it.
We don't, Andy's introductions is not the time when you need to be getting in your jabs.
like let Andy say hi to Lisa. Let Andy say hi to everyone because that's the format and then like wait your
wait your turn. I did go back and check because I didn't remember at the reunion last season,
Ayan and Stanberry were on either side of Andy and then Lisa was on the other side of Ayan. So she,
I mean, she did succeed in what Ayan says was her goal of getting that next spot to Andy because
Stanbury got knocked out of that chair.
But at the end of the day, it's like, that doesn't actually matter.
I know these women think it does, or at least some of them.
Like, I know it's a thing that people want to sit next to Andy, but it's like, you're going
to have to have something better than that.
And of course, I mean, these women, they're not great at moving on because we are still
arguing about who had better seats at the Beyonce concert.
And it's like, get over it.
When Andy's like, can we just agree that everyone seemed like, you know, like, you know,
They had pretty good seats at Beyonce.
And Ayanna's like, uh-uh.
No, no, no, no, no.
V-V-I-P, honey.
It's like, that was, it was like funny the first time because it was silly.
And that was in the first episode of the season.
And then we moved on.
So I would like to move on to.
Sarah has a prayer for the group that they're going to stop the nonsense and the negativity,
but also shed light on the truth.
And I just, like, eye-roll every time Sarah goes into, like, spirituality mode.
But I hope it's working for her.
We don't really get any or much Sarah on this episode.
I'm waiting to hear kind of like the situation with her and Akeen and the situation with her and Saba.
That is not even alluded to on this part of the reunion.
So I mean, that's kind of what I want the tea about at this point.
And I've seen also on Twitter, Caroline Brooks, I think I've mentioned this, very prolific on X.com these days.
And she has been, she's like Sabah's number one cheerleader, right?
now. And so that is interesting to me because I feel like, I feel like Brooks and, um, and Sarah
were really close on this season. I'm kind of like, what's going on there? Because, you know,
Saaba's putting out a whole whole ass press release about how she's no longer friends with Sarah
Al-Madani. Lots of questions. But we first get into Ayan and Stanbury. They, of course,
had a lot of issues last year. And then this season are kind of buddy, buddy. And I,
I actually do understand their sort of reasoning for how they,
came together this season. Basically, they say that they were like, after last season, they were at
odds so much and that they were like sick of not getting along because they had to spend all this time
with each other to do the show. And it's like, oh, this is actually uncomfortable that I'm going to
have to spend all this time with somebody that I fundamentally don't feel comfortable around.
So after last season's reunion, we find out they had like a secret meeting. Like they got drinking. Like,
they got drinks without telling anyone, basically to see if they could hash out their differences,
find some common ground, and just like be okay with each other. And this is the kind of thing where
I don't think there's anything shady about the fact that they like tried to work on their
relationship with each other. I do wish that they would have done this on camera. And that's the
kind of thing where it's like, okay, so if you left the reunion last year feeling like you wanted
to find common ground with her, like why didn't you find common ground with her?
at the reunion last year.
Like, this is why we have reunions.
No?
It kind of, I mean, on Jersey this past season,
there was so much drama about like pre-reunion meetings and who's talking to who.
And it's like, you guys film a whole season.
I know that, you know, if you're friends and all of that,
it's like, you have relationships off camera,
but it's like, can we just like, get more of these things like in the can
versus like having some secret meeting.
But yeah, I mean, it's, it's this whole thing.
Like they say they bonded over their kids.
being college aged and that they both have, you know, their strong women because of their
upbringing. It's like, okay, your upbrings were not the same at all, but I guess whatever works.
Tallinn says that Lisa was the most bothered by their friendship, but that Brooks was like a cheerleader
when Lisa and Ion weren't getting along. And Brooks is like, oh, well, I mean, I found comic relief
at first, but when I realized that it was actually hurting Ayan, then I wanted them to be friends.
And I do feel like Brooks is
She likes a little bit of revisionist history
She likes a little bit of it's a little bit gas lady

And this also comes up with the question about the Ayan beauty event. Remember that. It feels like this was
six months ago. Well, they filmed it about 18 months ago. So that's probably why. But Brooks was
throwing all this shade about how she would only give props to Ayan's partner, Tony Malt. And she was
like, yeah, Tony Malt threw a great party. And I'm very proud of Tony Malt. And I'm, I'm,
beauty by Tony Malt is going to be a great thing. And she wouldn't say one nice thing about Ion.
And at this reunion, Brooks is still pretending like that wasn't meant to be shade at Ion.
She's like, no, no, no, no, no. That wasn't shade. She's like, I wanted to give flowers to my friend
Tony. Of course I was going to say nice things about my friend Tony. That wasn't, there was nothing about
Ion. And it's like, I would, I would enjoy Brooks so much more if I felt like she was willing
to kind of cop to certain things that are just obvious when you're watching the show.
Like it's obvious that you're bothered by something or it's obvious that you're being shady about
something. And when people try to like throw all this shade and have these moments and then kind
of switch up and be like, I never said that. I never did that. You're putting words in my mouth.
It's like respectfully. No or not. But then this also kind of happens on the flip side with the
conversation about Talene's a little peek-a-boo moment at the Beyonce concert. And, you know,
this whole like back and forth thing about who was actually mad and whether Brooks was more offended
than Tallene was. And, you know, whether Stanbury was talking about it to the whole group or
whether it was actually Brooks. And Brooks and Sarah kind of try to make a reveal that Stanbury was
insinuating that Talline didn't belong on the show if she was going to be like showing her the J-J-J-E
at the Beyonce concert and that, you know, basically behind Talline's back,
Stanbury was shit talking Talene.
And like, again, it's one of these things that it's like, I just, this is not that
interesting.
And I feel like the more they think it is, the more I'm kind of like taking a step back.
But then there's this question of whether or not Brooks was angrier than Talene actually
was and whether she was like sticking up for her or just like holding a grudge on her behalf.
and Brooks kind of pushes back
and she's like, what you didn't see
is that
Talline was like crying hysterically
about Stanbury
you know, saying this stuff about her
and so then on camera
she kind of switched up
and was like acting like she didn't care
but there were these moments where she was like
really, really, really upset and Talline's like,
I wasn't on the floor.
Cut to unseen
unseen footage.
Talline's on the floor and she's crying
And look, crying hysterically versus just being emotional, I think is what she calls it.
It's semantics.
It's, you know, crying hysterically.
There's not like an objective definition of hysterical crying.
In that clip, it's clear that Tallinn is upset.
And so I understand why Brooks would want to, like, stick up for her friend and call Caroline Stanbury out for that.
I do think then it went beyond that.
And it was like, if Talline is saying she's over.
it now you need to also accept that she's over it but then at the same time it just all comes back to
like is this does anyone care and I even as I'm talking about this I'm like I don't know do I care
I suppose I have to but there was a moment that I thought was really interesting in this reunion
when OZempic came up and this of course like every housewives franchise has been touched by Ozempic
both medically and like as a conversation piece at this point. But basically,
Lisa is like, you know, they're talking about Lisa getting emotional. This is in the conversation
about Ayan's FGM story and being triggered by Sarah calling her a victim and all of this. And
Ayon is saying as a dig to Lisa that crying is a side effect of OZempic. I have in fact checked that.
I don't know. I think there's a long list of side effects.
but I don't know if being emotional is one of them.
So I'm taking Ion's word for it, which maybe is a dangerous thing to do.
But then Lisa hits the ball back and says, yeah, Ozempic that you introduced me to because of you were on it.
And I, Ion, her response to this is just a blood-curdling scream.
And then we kind of move on.
And it's, this is the thing to me that like, I don't know if this was.
a failure of Andy to kind of referee this conversation or if something got lost in the edit and it just
didn't land. But it was like, wait, not that, not that who's on Ozempic is our business or
everybody needs to, you know, share that information. But it felt like Ayan tried to like make a dig at
Lisa about being on OZempec. And then Lisa was like, yeah, so are you. And then we never actually
really find out if Ayan was on OZampic. Not that it matters, not that I care, but I'm like,
I feel like we didn't land the plane in that moment. And so it was like, it felt notable, but then
it's like, it just felt like another moment where Ayan and Lisa like aren't quite, aren't quite
getting us the full understanding of everything that's happening between them. And at the beginning of
the episode, they do, they set the intention that they're going to leave today in a better place
than they are now. You know, they haven't talked since the, or, you know, they haven't been on
good terms since the filming of the season, which again, over a year ago. But it just feels like
they're in such a place of pettiness with each other and that we actually don't see, I suppose,
maybe more is coming, but like, we don't see on this episode like a lot of real conversation
between them. It feels like we're still in this place of like, okay, yeah, I get that,
I get that the victim word is, is a thing for Ayan. And so for Lisa Milan to be saying,
oh, you're playing the victim when you're actually the villain, like, I get that that's
hard for her to hear. But I still feel like we have not been able to peel back the layers
in a way that is at all satisfying or illuminating, which I feel like that's the purpose of
the reunion. So I think that's still kind of my,
My biggest outstanding request for the rest of this reunion is like that we get a little bit more actual context.
But I don't know.
I mean, it's not a bad episode of the reunion.
It just is a little.
The sugar daddy conversation is also just like, first of all, I don't get why whether or not this guy Michael is Caroline Stanbury's sugar daddy.
He clearly is getting drunk and telling people that he is.
And the fact that more than one of them have a story about this, it's like,
Like, whether or not the bills are being paid, if I were Caroline Stanbury, I would not want this guy to be like in my circle anymore.
And, you know, fun little pullback the curtain moment.
Caroline Stanberry came to the studio this season and she brought Sergio and she brought Michael.
So like this guy is like in the entourage slash maybe funding the entourage.
Who knows?
Allegedly.
But then also it's like we're, then we're hitting the ball back and it's like, oh, well, Brooks is hooking up with this guy that we're calling Shrek.
and he's making six figures a month and he's buying bags and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And there's the footage of her talking to him on the phone in the car in Bali.
And it's like the sugar daddy stuff also to me is like if we're unable to reach a conclusive answer, then it's kind of not interesting.
And clearly none of these women, none of these women, not all of them have this situation to answer for.
People like Brooks and Stanbury are not going to give you, you know, what you're craving.
They're not going to be like, you know what?
actually, yes, Michael does pay my bills, whether it's true or not.
So I feel like this, it's just a little frustrating because I feel like there are a few
points where it's like, we're talking in circles and I don't think we're getting any actual clarity.
And so I'm hoping that maybe there will be something in the rest of this reunion that kind of
puts me at peace.
But time is ticking.
The clock is winding down on this season of Dubai.
And I'm unsure kind of where we go from here.
I don't think it's horrible.
I don't think it's amazing.
But I do think that people are kind of struggling.
to care. And I don't even know how many of you are still watching this season. So we're
greener pastures ahead. But in the meantime, thanks so much for listening. Don't forget to rate
review and follow the show wherever you listen. And until next time, be cool. Don't feel like uncool.
