Welcome back to the Mentioned All podcast and another Friday episode with lots to get into. And I, ooh, I come bearing stories because last, week about this time. I was in Las Vegas, Nevada for the grand opening of the Vanderpump Hotel. And oh boy, what a time that was. We're going to talk a little bit about the Vanderpump Hotel opening. I'm going to talk about something that I think is really interesting that has happened this week, which is that Peacock micro dramas have arrived and Georgia Gay has her own show. And I have taken one for the team and watched several episodes of that. So we're going to talk about it,

but probably more interestingly to most of you guys watching or listening. We're going to talk about Summer House, the aftermath, and some other things that have been going down in the Summer House universe this week. And then, yeah, we'll talk about the Real House of Rhode Island finale. The ladies are headed to Block Island with their hot husbands, and we love to see that. Maybe a little Atlanta. We'll see if we have time.

Cynthia Bailey was in the stew. She was looking gorgeous as per usual. And I had a great time chatting with her. So make sure you are subscribed. And then I got home on Saturday night and had about an hour to get myself turned around to go watch the New York Knicks win the NBA finals. So it was just, man, it was an exciting, exciting 48 hours. I felt like I had been just in a whirlwind of of Vanderpumpness and then of New York greatness. Just a really, um, sometimes I look around and I'm like, what's going on? What is any of this? And we'll talk about Vegas. So I have had the

the great good fortune of being at a couple of Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant openings with Caesars in the last few years. I got to go to her opening in Tahoe of Wolf and then a couple years ago in Vegas, the opening of Pinkies, which is at the Flamingo. And when I heard that they were doing a Vanderpump hotel, I was like, okay, I don't know how much, I don't know how long I have left in me of doing all this Bravo stuff. I mean, I'm enjoying it. I'm enjoying it. I promise. But I have got to get my ass to the opening of that hotel. You know, you set those little milestones and I'm like, I need to be on that plane. I need to stay at that hotel. So I was fortunate enough to get the invite to the grand opening in Las Vegas, Nevada in June.

And I don't know if many of you have spent time in Las Vegas in the summer. It was about 108 degrees every day that I was there. and you guys, the grand opening party was outdoors. No, no. The hotel has a really nice rooftop with like a pool and, you know, it's a cool area, but what I saw it was outside, I was like, oh, so they're trying to kill us. But before we got there, checked into the hotel, it's, it's, the word of the week was sexy. Because Lisa Vanderpump, whenever she's describing one of her restaurants of bars and nightclubs or hospitality spaces.

It's always, oh, it's a bit romantic, it's a bit playful, but it's always sexy. Her dogs are sexy. Her wine is sexy. All the cocktails are sexy. And you know what? I got to say it. It's a sexy hotel. She did it.

She and Nick Elaine did their big one. They went into that hotel. It used to be the Cromwell. It was something else before that. Caesar said, we're slapping your name on the side of this building. And she understood the assignment. Right when you walk in, I don't really remember. I had been in and out of the Cromwell in the past.

I don't remember exactly what it looked like on the inside. But they have really, they've completely redone the interiors of the hotel. The whole lobby and casino floor looks great. they've renovated oh I have the hat I'm having a good hair day kind of so I don't I don't really want to like fully put this on but I'll just kind of like we'll just we'll give it a couple minute we'll do what's happening we'll do the hat no I'm not thank you for the merch um they've redone the whole lobby bar area and into a sexy little space called jiggleow um where there is a I would say life size but it's a much larger than life size statue of jiggy. Like, it's like a human size, life size statue, but of a Pomeranian. And it really feels like a space where people can go to pay their respects and maybe leave some sort of offering or sacrificial, sacrificial, like, you know, right of passage.

But it's a, there's a sexy lobby bar, the casino floor. It's, you know, if you're somebody who likes to partake in a casino floor, I hit some slot machines, I got to say, I about broke even at the Vanderpump Hotel. I think so I can't speak to, I'm not a big gambler. I don't know about, you know, I was sitting at a slot machine at one point because I had like some time to kill before one of our reservations. And this woman who, God bless her, looks like a cigarette came to life walks up to me. And she's like, are these ones paying out good? And I'm like, I don't know how to answer that question.

people who really know their way around a casino are both, like, impressive and a little frightening to me, where I'm like, I respect the hustle. I hope you're making smart choices. I hope that this is not a problem for you. I hope that this is, you know, that you have disposable income to blow and that you're happy to blow it and maybe you'll even make something. I don't know. But I'm just like when somebody asks me if a slot machine is like a good one, I'm like, I don't know. I'm just like pressing the button over.

and over until my money runs out. I kind of thought that. I don't know. I don't know how this works. But the whole hotel, it's a very like tones of like onyx and gray and a sexy purple. And when you go up to your room, there's like a, you know, there's like carpet on the hallways that has LVPs initials on it, but like in a classy way, like it doesn't just feel like a monogram has been like slapped on. And then you go to your room. And I thought, the rooms were really nice. So they've completely redone all of the, you know, hotel aspects. So the rooms are completely renovated with, you know, new furnishings and wallpaper and sexy photos of Lisa Vanderpump on the walls. Because, you know, as, as you would hope. Why are you there

if not to look at a sexy photo of Lisa Vanderpump on the walls? And one of my favorite details is that in the nightstands, there's this like, there's a shelf in the nightstand where the shelf is mirror, but the bottom of the top of the nightstand has a photo of Lisa Van der Prum's eyes on it, like smizing at you, like really big. And so when you look at the mirror on the shelf, it reflects the eyes. And so you like lean over from the bed to grab your, you know, your reading glasses or, you know, your, I don't know, your pills in the morning or something. And you're just kind of greeted by like a bit of a smolder. And that is what I want. If I'm staying at the Van der Pump hotel. I want to feel like Lisa is watching me sleep. That is what I'm paying for. That's the

experience. And Lisa and Nicolane, they have this like, you know, blood oath partnership, whatever at this point. They do all of this stuff together. And I always, you know, people, I feel like people sometimes kind of like clown Lisa for her aesthetic being like a little bit over the top or a little bit ridiculous. But there's something about the way that they kind of just like put things together. I'm like, you know what? This is a sexy hotel room. There's a chandelier. There's mirrors everywhere. There's a little bit of purple. There's some, you know, wallpaper on the walls that is kind of chic and fun and interesting. There's throw pillows. I thought the bed was really comfortable. I slept there three nights. I had a good time.

A nice job with the hotel rooms. But let's talk about the party because, you know, you can look up photos of a hotel room. That's not. I'm no interior designer. So the party was on Thursday night and it's up on the rooftop, which used to be a drays. They're like a day club. And some people are really sad that it's not drays anymore. It's still like a club and drays is in the downstairs, the like after dark. I don't know what that situation is. I don't think Lisa like kicked out, Trays, you guys.

I don't think she's like actually making those calls. I think she's like picking lamps. But anyway, so the party was up there. Also famously where they filmed the COVID season of Love Island. USA. I think it was season two. It was when Ariel Vandenberg was still the host. So if you look up photos, it's very, it looks kind of the same. Like, it's very reminiscent of that. They have not done like a gut renovation of the rooftop yet. I don't know if that's coming. I imagine that Lisa Vanderpump probably wants to make it like a little bit sexier. But it was nice. There were like dancers.

There was a lady dancing in a martini glass. There was a woman in a blow up inflatable ball just like walking across the water. I was worried I was going to fall in the pool at one point. You know, after the drink started flowing, you really had to start watching your step, I would say. But it was a really interesting crowd of people who were at this party because, okay, you're thinking about Lisa Vanderpump. You're thinking about, you know, who's in her orbit, who's going to be there at Lance

Bass, obviously. Like he probably, he has a residency at the Vanderpump Hotel, I'm assuming. He's been in the marketing materials. He's going to be there. The new Vanderpump Rules people, like the rebrands. boot Vanderpump Rules people. They were all there. I think that they were filming a little bit, at least for the Lisa Las Vegas Vanderpump Rules thing. I don't know exactly how they're going to be showing up in that, but I ran into Natalie and I was talking to her and it seems like they're

going to be in it for better or worse. A lot of the old Vanderpump people were there too. Now, weirdly, Stasi wasn't there. I don't know if she was busy or, you know, writing another book or, you know, talking about ranch dressing. I don't know what she had going on that night. But both of the Tom's were there. Like I said, the party was outside in the Vegas, Vegas summer, and Tom Sanival was wearing a button-down shirt

with a sweater over it, with a blazer over that. So a little unclear if he just, like, didn't check the weather or his brain wasn't working that day. I don't know. But Tom and Tom were there. James Kennedy was there a little bit. controversial these days. Of course Peter Madrigal was there. And you know, I got to give a shout out to our guy Peter because he lately has been the subject of some rumors that his new girlfriend is AI.

And I don't know the exact logistics of that. There have been other rumors. There was a rumor that like Zach Braff had an AI chatbot girlfriend recently too. Allegedly, I'm sure it wasn't true. He seems like a stand-up guy. But the thing with Peter is that people have been saying this girl is AI. he's posting her on social media. She looks a little bit maybe like tuned in the face, if you know what I mean. I saw that woman with my own two eyes. And now I didn't go up to her and like, I didn't like interact with her. So she could have been some kind of really like realistic elaborate hologram maybe.

But it seems to me like Peter Magigold's girlfriend is a real human. And congratulations to him. She's beautiful. Yeah. So the Vanderpump guys kind of showed up. Lala was there too. Who else? Heather Debrough and Terry were there until they weren't.

They didn't stay that long. Garcel was there. It was nice to see her. We chatted a little bit. Holly Madison showed up. The cast of Rupal's Drag Race Live. They did a little parade through. They were in full drag, which is always fun to see up close.

Sharon Osborne was there. I don't know how I feel about that one. But, you know, everybody likes a night out in Vegas. It was a fun kind of smattering of people. Oh, you know who else was there? Marciano and Jesse, like Marciano from Vanderpump Villa and Jesse for Mormon wives. They were in attendance. They were with Jesse's mom, who, by the way, looks exactly like her.

And my friend overheard Marciano calling Jesse's mom, mom, which is a little a little chilling. I don't know exactly what's going on there, but one of the funniest parts of this kind of whole event was that normally when you go to like a premiere party or a restaurant opening or something like that, everybody shows up for the party and then you just go home. And so there isn't really an opportunity to sort of see people hanging around.

But at this, because it was a hotel opening, everybody was there Thursday night for the party, but most of these guests that I've been talking about we're staying at the hotel, at least for one night. And so it was a really strange experience where the second we arrived there until, you know, Friday afternoon, you're going down to the lobby or you're going up to your room and you'll just be like in the elevator with Marciano. Or you'll be like in the elevator with that girl Demi from Vanderpump Rules and she's wearing

Uggslippers in the middle of the afternoon. And I'm like, have you not been out today? Or are you coming back? Or what's the story with the Uggslippers? What's going on with that? I saw La La Kent, like, walking through the lobby on Friday morning, just in full like sweat set. Like, it's funny to see people sort of lingering before and after this party when

normally they would just be like at their homes. But no, it was a really fun event. I thought people had a lot of fun at the party. Pandora was there. I always love seeing her. Ken, too. I don't know about Max. And sort of one of the highlights of the night was that they did this drone show. And I don't know if people have seen these like custom drone shows before. It reminds me that the time I remember seeing it first was when Lady Gaga did the Super Bowl halftime show and they had the like drones in the sky making whatever design. But midway through the night, they had a, a full. full Lisa Vanderpump, Vanderpump Hotel custom drone show happening over the strip, over Caesar's Palace, and the drones like take their time and sort of like fly around and form a formation and go dark and then they light up and it's the Vanderpump Hotel logo. And then they, they twinkle a little bit and then they go into a new formation and then they make a new thing

and it says jigolo. And then they twinkle a little bit and go around and make another thing. And then it's fucking jiggie in the sky being on the wings of a swan. And the swan's wings made out of drones are gently flapping. And I'm like, jiggy is literally,

I feel like I'm in the Lion King and it's like Mufasa is in the stars above me. But it's jiggie. And it was so poignant. And so beautiful, but also like so funny. And I just, it was the most over the top, perfect way to celebrate the evening. And I really felt throughout the weekend when I was staying at this hotel, if anybody watched the final season of hacks recently, I felt like I was staying at the diva.

And what work could you want? For people who are, because people, when I get to go to stuff like this, people are always asking, like, is it worth it? Should I go? Would, like, do you, you know, is it, do you think you got your money's worth? And like, I didn't pay for this. I had a great time. I think that one thing that's really interesting about this hotel specifically is that it's much, much smaller than most of the hotels on the Las Vegas strip. So if you are somebody who is going to Vegas, you want to go for like a concert or just like for a fun weekend or something, but you get stressed out staying at like one of these giant hotel casino resorts.

You know, you're walking through Caesar's Palace and there's six different towers and which way do you go and you have to follow a sign every time to get to your room? I stayed at the ARIA last year and it was like I felt like I just found my way around by the time I was leaving. The Vanderpump Hotel, it's like one tower. The lobby is, you know, manageable size. There's one set of elevators to go to your room. it's a much more like low-key kind of hotel experience, but it's a really central location on the strip.

So I do think if you're somebody who wants to be in a convenient location in Vegas but isn't excited about staying at like a 4,000 room hotel, for that it's good. And also, I mean, if you want a little bit of that Vanderpump experience, it's a fun thing. I mean, there's photos of Lisa Vanderpump on the wall. of your hotel room. She's in your nightstand, for God's sake. There's some, some little photo ops that they have in the lobby. There's like a, like a London looking phone booth with like a photo of her in the rain. There's, I don't know if this will be there all the time, but they have like a whole like Lisa Vanderpump hotel, like old fashioned car with like dogs in it that you

could take photos of. Just like they've done a nice job with it. And I think it's a very different vibe from most of the hotels on the strip. And so I think it's, If you're going, I wouldn't say it's necessarily like a destination in and of itself, but if you're going to Vegas and considering your options, why not? Why not? I had a great time. Thank you to Caesars for, for hooking us up for the weekend. I, you know, I got to spend time with friends.

And, you know, it was, it's always a great time. I don't think of myself as somebody who loves Vegas. But when you get to go and like have a great experience, like, great experience is a great experience. We went to Chippendales on Friday night. And let me tell you, I don't think of myself as a prude. And I wasn't, I wasn't, like, offended by the Chippendale show by any means. But I'm like, I kind of get why those dad talk guys weren't too thrilled. Not because I think that they should be able to tell their wives what to do. But if you're a, if you're a, like, more traditional values minded person, you're seeing a lot of asses. You're seeing, you're seeing. You're seeing

they're humping a motorcycle. There's a man naked in the shop. He's taking a full shower on, say, a lot of tearaway underwear. I just, you know, I'm not, I would never say Zach Affleck is right, because that, but like,

I get why a man such as that would be concerned. But everybody was having a great time at Chippendales, man, they do a good business. God bless them. Okay, let's talk about Bravo. Well, actually, let's talk about Peacock.

And one of the first ones that they announced is this show called Campus Confidential Miami.

And it centers on one of our housewives kids. much like Next Gen NYC except shot on an iPhone and kind of weird and bad. Georgia Gay. Georgia Gay is navigating life at the University of Miami and you can watch it unfold in 27 parts on Peacock. Well, actually, only on the Peacock app on your mobile device. They have made this nice and difficult to find. And I got to say, once you find it, the app interface, I would say needs a little bit of

work because the way that they have set this up, so you click in and her like her like storyline is called the sorority dropout and it follows her. She's, I think a sophomore at you Miami and has dropped out of her sorority and is now deciding whether she is going to stay at you Miami at the end of the school year or leave and do something else. She keeps just saying whether I'm going to drop and somebody says transfer and she's like, no, like drop. out. I'm like, okay, then what's the plan? Like, is, is Heather Gay just cool with her being like, I'm in a job? What does that mean? What's the plan? Because I don't know if this is going to give you the influencer career that you need to just like not go back to school. I mean, not that you should

go to school. Finish school, Georgia. But anyway, so you click, you click into this thing. It's 27 parts. They're probably like 90, 60, 90 seconds each. It goes quick. I watched like, 10 of 10 parts, 10 episodes, whatever. But it sort of looks at the top of the screen like you're watching an Instagram story where like each episode is like a little dot at the top and you can tap forward or backwards. And I actually thought it was a little clunky because it's like pretty easy to accidentally tap forward or back. And then if you try to go back to the episode you were on, you can't like scroll.

like scrub at the bottom of how far you are in the episode. So if you accidentally tap forward and then you tap back, it takes you back to the beginning of that episode. So you might have to watch like a minute that you already, like it just isn't quite, it isn't quite like a seamless experience. And I would maybe say that that is okay for them to be working out the kinks of something new. If there's something new that they're working out the kinks of was something good. but man, I just do not know who the target audience is for this. Because here's the thing. Right now, and I think I talked about this in the upfront's discussion,

in the entertainment industry, in the media industry, there is this push for all of these companies to be developing, you know, video products that are sort of ripping off or drafting off of the success of TikTok and YouTube shorts and reels and things like. that of this micro short form content, snackable content is like a word you'll hear, it just luh. But everybody's trying to crack this code to figure out, okay, people are spending all this time on their phones, watching vertical video, how do we make that product and get it into their hands in a way that's going to benefit us? And so I get why Peacock is trying this,

but with this one in particular, I sat down to watch this because it's Georgia Gay. It's It's housewives adjacent. This technically, in a certain, you know, weird way, feels like a real houseways of Salt Lake City spin off. But I'm sitting down and watching it. And I'm saying, oh, this looks terrible. It's like filmed on, it's like there are two people just like standing in her apartment with cameras. And then her confessionals feel like they're filmed on a front facing camera on a tripod and the lighting is weird.

And I also just like don't care that much about, you know, she's talking about her sororical. party drama and I'm like what's going on. So I feel like in a way I'm the target audience because I'm a housewives, you know, officiato and I'm on peacock every day. I see the stuff in the app, but I'm not watching it on my phone. And it's a weird experience. I don't particularly like enjoy it. So then it's like, oh, okay, maybe maybe me at my, you know, big age. I'm in my 30s. Maybe I'm not the target audience. Maybe the target audience is people that are more like peers of, Georgia gay, who are more relating to the issues of college life and of figuring out your way and are spending a lot of time on their phones watching video content and are, you know,

used to swiping and vertical video. But then I'm like, 19, 20-year-olds, they don't know who the fuck Georgia gay is. They have no, no context for this. But maybe that is kind of what they're going for, because, Heather Gay, at least in the 10, 10 episodes I've watched of this, Heather Gay doesn't appear. I think maybe she's mentioned briefly at the beginning of just sort of like, my mom's, my life is crazy because my mom's on this show. But it doesn't really feel like it's four housewives viewers.

We see her, her sister Annabelle is coming to visit her. So there is like a little bit of that family dynamic, but it's not about Heather at all. And so then I'm like, okay, so maybe if you're a younger, you know, Gen Z person, maybe college or a little older, maybe you're watching Love Island USA on your phone on Peacock and you're seeing, hey, what's this thing? I'm going to check that out. I feel like that is probably more of the like executive mindset of how they think this is going to work. But I'm just really skeptical that this is going to work in any real way because I got to say, I mean, of the episodes, I watched, it just like, it just feels weird.

The editing style, it feels very like they're trying to kind of glom on to this, like, DIY TikTok aesthetic. There's like emojis coming on the screen and like the captions are like big and all over the place. And it just feels like a little bit of a, how do you do fellow kids moment of a real, you know, big kind of classic entertainment company trying to make something that. they think 19 year olds want. And I don't know.

I mean, I probably am overthinking this a little bit because at the end of the day, like, it's not offensive to me that Georgia Gay is, you know, yapping to the camera on Peacock because I'm probably just never going to think about it again after today. But at the same time, I'm like, if they're putting resources into this, which I mean, let's just say the budget wasn't that high. It was giving like Candace music video. But if this is a priority for them, I at least am interested in how it's doing, if it's a good product, whatever. And I think the product just kind of needs some work.

Speaking of the Peacock app, why can't we vote for Love Island in the Peacock app? Why am I downloading a separate app with a two-star rating on the app store to vote for which couple is my favorite? Peacock is right there. It's already an app. Fix it, Jesus, as As Vajra would say. I'm curious, though, if anybody else gives campus confidential Miami a try, so there's 27 episodes of this Georgia gay one. And then there's like a second part of it that's 23 episodes. So it's 50 episodes total of some like influencer drama, but also at University of Miami.

I think maybe some of the characters overlap. They're going for this. 50 episodes. There's a few of these other micro dramas that are also on the Peacock app right now. I'm not going to force myself to watch the ones that don't at least feel Bravo adjacent. They also announced in May that Madison LaCroix is going to have one that's like maybe like hair salon themed. I'm like I'm going to play like a Madison LaCroix hair salon game. I want to be like,

sit down in the chair. Now wash the hair, cut the hair, color the hair. Do you want it? Carly, do you want to bang? Like, I want to play one of those like old school computer games that's like salon. I don't think that's what Madison McCrulley's peacock micro drama is going to be. But hey, a girl can dream. So maybe when that one comes out, I'll check it out and see kind of like how how things are developing. But also, maybe I won't. Maybe, maybe I won't. Maybe this is the last time I will ever talk about peacock micro dramas. in the Summerhouse world. Last week, I recall, I had to record a little bit early so they had teased that there was something coming at the end of Summerhouse reunion part three, but I didn't know quite what it was. I was relieved when I heard that it was just like an announcement of an episode and not like an actual piece of content. But yeah, so they filmed this aftermath episode. After the reunion, three separate sit downs of Lindsay talking to Amanda, of Kyle talking to West, and of Sierra talking to dun dun dun, miha. And it was, I think, an exciting announcement. And It felt like a lot of the time, you know, Bravo fans are having a lot of feelings, giving a lot of feedback, and don't always feel like Bravo is really like listening to them or are paying attention. And in this case, I do think it felt like after that reunion taping, some people said, hey, I don't know that we really got enough here to feel like an appropriate amount of closure, answers.

wrapping in a bow of the level that this scandal is at. And maybe they already were thinking about doing this before the reunion. Maybe it was something that bubbled up organically afterward. But I think it was a really clever way to kind of reshape, give us a little extra ending. And of course, knowing that Summer House is already renewed for another season, it's just, you know, we're now probably just a couple weeks out from when they usually start filming for the next season. So they have a lot to figure out there. And of course, in the city has been, you know, off and running for several weeks now.

And thinking about a potential second season there, what is that going to look like? I think that this episode probably gave the producers of both of those shows a little bit clearer of a picture of how do we move forward here? who do we move forward with and what's the best way to go about that. So it's interesting there are, so these three conversations, the Lindsay and Sierra one, or the Lindsay and Amanda one is the longest in the episode. West and Kyle's is also kind of meaty. And then the Miha and Sierra one is a little bit more of like a CODA at the end. Like it felt like they had sort of less to get into overall.

But it was interesting, I thought, in the first, two of these conversations to sort of compare and contrast the tone and the substance and specifically, I think also what it feels like the path forward is after these conversations. And I was frustrated but not particularly surprised to hear that West and Amanda have both still not watched the last several episodes from this. season of Summerhouse. I thought it was frankly disrespectful that they didn't do so before going to the reunion because that's the whole fucking reason we're there and you're being paid a lot of money to be here. And also, people are going to want answers and you simply can't speak to,

um, speak adequately to what happened on a season that you didn't watch. I always, I have always felt like it is just a complete middle finger to the whole kind of production to not watch the episodes before the reunion. What are we doing here? You have literally one job. Watch the show, come to talk about it. And West and Amanda were not prepared to do that at the reunion in either sense. And so to see that they have now had additional weeks of processing, reacting, whatever, and also the experience of how the reunion went, which was, you know, spoiler alert, not super well for them to mentally prepare for these conversations and still have not sat down to watch the episodes.

It feels like a giant fuck you. That, okay, we know what we did was bad, kind of, and we know that people are hurt and that sucks, kind of. And man, we wish we could make it better, kind of. But we also aren't ready and willing to fully engage with what happened and we happened. what people are reacting to. And, you know, Kyle is talking about stuff that happened on the show with West and the way that he was being really extra touchy with Sierra and certain, you know, really like tender moments and all of this. And of course, West, you know, in, has some amount

of personal memory of being in these situations. But I think specifically there's something to be gained or, you know, maybe lost for him from sitting down and watching that and saying, yeah, I really was laying it on thick there. And that does track why it would be like extra shitty that now I screwed this woman over. So they both haven't watched the season, which doesn't make me feel great. But in general, the conversation that Amanda has with Lindsay feels much more of a reset the board and potentially move forward conversation than the one that West has with Kyle. because the thing with West is that it still feels like he is in the exact same kind of rhythm of not really being able to 100% engage with what he has done,

people's real feelings about it and the, you know, the way that he has hurt people. And we find out that after the reunion, he sent Kyle a long test. in which he suggested that maybe they could have a conversation off camera. And we see that Kyle responded with a roughly five-minute voice note, which sadly we don't get to hear. But specifically talking about the idea of having a conversation off camera, West says that he suggested that because he just kind of assumed that his kind of camera time was done. And, you know, perhaps a fair assumption. I think after today it likely is. But for Kyle, I appreciated that he was like, and see, I thought it could be great for us to have a conversation on camera because we, I think we owe people a little bit more answers.

And here we are. Where's the answers? And West, you know, he says that he gets why his word is discredited in a lot of regards. And he, you know, is talking about Maha and admits to leading her on. and says it was very much a relationship. And he also says when he's talking about, because Kyle's whole thing is like, hey, look, I, there are two sort of prongs to this for me.

I obviously there's the friendship and how I feel, you know, betrayed or taking advantage of or disrespected or whatever. But I also still care about Amanda. We have this long history with each other. She is literally legally still my wife. And I care about her and I am worried about her and I do not trust or believe that you are fully seriously on board with what she needs wants, you know, expects hopes for whatever. And when West says that his relationship with Amanda, this is him trying to reassure Kyle theoretically. he's like yeah i mean i know that i know that people i know that amanda's going to look stupid with the miha stuff

and that's not great um but amanda is the first relationship the first time that something has developed from a three-year friendship and there's there's just nothing inauthentic about it that's like but the whole three-year friendship she was married to your friend it's not like, it's not like, oh, we were always the two single people in the friend group and everybody thought we should be together and we didn't see it. And then one day suddenly lightning struck and we were like, he is the one. It's like you're removing all of the necessary context from that story that makes it sound fucking crazy. Because the whole time, you came into the group and immediately had this thing with Sierra going on that had continued until this day. And Kyle was married to

Amanda. So it's like there was until literally February of this year, there was never a time when West and Amanda were friends or spending time with each other when they weren't actively in other relationship situations that would have made it literally like impossible for them to pursue a relationship that wasn't a straight up affair. And so the whole idea that it developed out of a three-year friendship. It's like, that doesn't count when she's married the whole time. Because then that just sounds like, I mean, an emotional affair, I think is like such an overplayed term at this point.

But if the shoe fits, if the fuckery fits, I mean, one of the, this sort of piece de resistance of the Kyle and West conversation is when Kyle asks West if he loves Amanda. And first, he hesitates. and he references the night last summer when Kyle and Amanda got in sort of their biggest fight and West as he's like leaving the room that Amanda and he goes, you know, I love you. And he's like, yeah, well, I told her I loved her last summer that night. It's like, that is the way that I say I love you to like, you would say that to any friend. That's Kyle's like that's the way I say I love you to Lindsay.

Like, if somebody is in your life and you care about them, saying I love you is just not that deep. And so, first of all, it's weird that West's mind even goes there when he's been, you know, really adamant that the feelings didn't develop last summer. Because remember, still married actively, whether it was going great or not. And then West, when he comes out of his, you know, you know, love Lauren flashback to last. summer, he goes, I really do care about her a fuck done. And you know, that's how I hope somebody speaks about me someday. When I find the person that I blow up my entire life for and, you know, it's my, my Bonnie and Clyde moment. We're driving into the sunset. I hope that they can look at somebody in the eyes and say that they care a fuck ton about me. It's so romantic. I mean, Casablanca,

when Harry met Sally West and Amanda, I care a fuck ton about her. Just like, grow the hell up. Grow up. But so, I mean, this conversation, he finally says, I'm not in love with her, but I do love her and I have. It's like, thank you. Sir, we know. We can tell. You care about her a fuck ton.

We know, that's beautiful. It's a beautiful sentiment. Just gorgeous. But the conversation with Kyle and West really doesn't feel like it's moving the ball forward in any way. You know, I don't know what Kyle would have wanted to hear from West, but I feel pretty clear that he's not getting it. And that West isn't, you know, getting it. But the conversation with Lindsay and Amanda, to me, is a little more interesting because it feels like it is framed as a conversation more about Lindsay trying to get Amanda out of whatever, you know, delusion she's been in for the last

couple months and almost like give her that tough love and sort of like pull her back onto the track than, you know, smackdown, beat down, how could you do this? It's not that the conversation isn't about Sierra, but Sierra doesn't feel like the center of the conversation in a way that I saw some people being critical of Lindsay for not bringing it back to Sierra more. Why am I doing this with my hands? I saw some people being critical of Lindsay for not sort of centering Sierra more in her conversation with Amanda. And while I think, of course, the biggest issue with Amanda's behavior is the betrayal of Sierra, I actually do feel like when when you're in a room and Sierra is not there,

that almost like propping her up at the center of the conversation, if Lindsay were to do that or if Amanda were to like talk too much about Sierra, I think it would feel a little bit weird and almost a little bit like, you need to say that shit to Sierra. And I'm not saying Sierra wants to hear it from Amanda right now, but I thought it was fair for Lindsay to sort of center the conversation on like, Girl, what the fuck is going on? And do you really understand what's going on here and how stupid you look and how he's playing

you the same way he's played everybody else? I thought that Lindsay was sort of perfectly qualified to deliver this type of tough love. And also, Lindsay has been super active on threads in the last couple days. and she specifically called out a couple things that maybe didn't make the edit or maybe weren't fully represented in their conversation. First of all, she's like, I brought up Sierra a bunch. Like, Sierra was not absent in this conversation. Maybe Amanda wasn't bringing up Sierra a bunch, and I think that's a separate issue, but that Lindsay's like, I did not like forget Sierra was, you know, important to this situation. But then the other thing is that it really feels like in this conversation, Lindsay is working.

working on Amanda to try and get her to really understand and acknowledge that West isn't going to give her whatever she thinks or whatever they're talking about or whatever she kind of is imagining. And at the end of this conversation, when Lindsay is telling her talking about the future, Amanda's saying she hasn't dated since she was 24, and Lindsay goes, you're right. you need to go do that. Don't fall in with another man that is going to make you exactly what you were with Kyle before. She asks her her biggest takeaway from the reunion. And Amanda says she doesn't remember much because she shuts down when she gets yelled at. And quote, that's how I got through most of my marriage. I'm like, okay, sure.

That's, yeah. And Lindsay's like, okay, then you need to figure out self-love that doesn't come from a relationship. She's giving her that real true friend, tough love in a way that doesn't feel angry. It feels like she's like, I need you to understand this. And they're talking about, Lindsay says that West was on the phone with Maha earlier that morning, trying to get the story straight. And when Amanda says, I just feel stupid. And Lindsay goes, to be honest, you should feel stupid. She says she needs to drop West's ass like the Titanic.

And Amanda just goes, I know. And so when I was watching this, a couple things were going through my mind. First of all, Lindsay, oh, another thing Lindsay said on threads is that they didn't show at the end of the conversation that Lindsay basically gave Amanda a friendship ultimatum and basically said that people in my life are expected to. have a certain level of morals. I can't remember exactly what you said, but it was like basically like, I hold my friends to a certain standard. And right now,

this shit isn't it. And so if you're going to stay in my circle, changes need to be made. Essentially, kick West out the door and then maybe we can talk. And so to me, knowing that especially, I'm thinking,

okay, so I feel like with West, it feels realistically like this is the last time We're going to see him in the cast of a Bravo show, at least for a long time. Whereas with Amanda, I see this Lindsay conversation keeping the door open a little bit for Amanda to potentially still be on season two of In the City. Because even if Amanda comes on that season and still is really in the doghouse with a lot of the friend group, I think that's something that could potentially be a storyline to follow.

and especially if, you know, assuming that she and West aren't together, that's something that has, it's compelling and it has momentum of she has made this, you know, catastrophic decision that has ruined a lot of her relationships and is now sort of working to piece it back together. I'm not saying that that's exactly what I want to see or that everybody else wants to see. I'm saying that if you're putting your producer hat on, it's like that's something you can work with. The problem is, West and Amanda have still been spending a lot of time together. They went to Italy after the conversation with Lindsay was filmed. And this is where it gets tricky because Amanda, you know, Lindsay says you need to drop him like the Titanic and Amanda says, I know.

and then I think it was like a week later or something. They're in Italy together. West is spitting in her mouth. And we're seeing all the photos on Des Mois. And, you know, Kyle is frustrated. I'm sure Lindsay wasn't happy to see this. And so it feels like there still is a level of lack of transparency or just straight up lying, depending how you want to view it.

So when Amanda is sitting down and having that conversation with Lindsay, does she already know that she's going to Italy with West a few days later and is just not going to say it because she knows it'll get her in trouble? Because if that's the case, then it seems like she's not really going to meet the terms of Mother Hubbard's ultimatum. Obviously, there could be more to the story that we don't fully know. It just is like, at what point is there going to be like true clarity and moving forward? and it kind of seems like so far

Amanda is choosing West still over prioritizing, working on starting to rebuild some of these relationships and I just I don't know what the long game is there I mean I guess she really thinks she's in love and like as we know he cares about her a fuck ton

so that's love I mean it's not it's a fuck ton of caring. It's not love, but it's close. It's close. That's a more. A mora. The Sierra and Meeha conversation is like not that revelatory. There are a couple things that are just like, like, make me feel like I need to take a shower. We find out that last summer, a lot of the time Mija was staying at West's apartment while he was in the Hampton's filming for the weekend because she had just moved and like didn't have her

her whole setup yet. And so she would just be like, chilling at his place while he's chilling with Sierra in the Hamptons for the weekend. Weird. Weird, weird, weird, weird. After the reunion, Meeha says that West texted her just, you win, which is also weird. But then we find out that Mija and West were on the phone for six hours after the reunion. And Meeha so many people on threads this week. Meeha responded to somebody calling this out as weird on and she's like, it's my God-given right to yell at my ex for six hours if I want to. And then Lindsay responded and was like, they're still talking every day. West and Miha are still talking.

And to me, like, obviously they had unfinished business. Maybe I guess, I don't know. There's just no, there's no reason that they should still be talking every day. Bitch, block his number. Be done. Free yourself. Like, if Meeha is supposed to be sort of like a fellow protagonist in this situation, she should have West Wilson's number blocked.

The idea that she would come out of having mimosa's with Sierra and like, clink, cheers to the girls weekend! And still be making time in her life for West is like, that makes me feel icky. I was glad that we got to see Mija because the reunion FaceTime appearance, didn't 100% stick the landing for me. But I also am like, I think she was an important voice to hear in this conversation. But to me, like, I don't need her to be a main character in the story moving forward. Because I have questions for her too.

And I just, I don't know. It's so messy. I mean, this really brings us to the end of this season of Summerhouse. And the only other thing to mention is that we got reporting this week. that West Wilson will not be on next season of Summerhouse. Now, this is not surprising, especially, I think, after seeing this aftermath episode, but it is sort of the first concrete piece of news, I guess, that we've gotten about what season 11 of Summerhouse is going to look like.

I imagine in the next few weeks we'll be learning a lot more, whether it's announcements or just kind of through the grapevine. But West, congratulations. on, you know, getting everything you ever wanted, which is no more TV time and a woman that you care about a fuck ton. Congratulations. I hope you enjoy it. We'll just talk really quickly about the Rhode Island finale. I'm sure we will have more to say for the reunion the next couple weeks.

But it was nice just to see the whole group together again because, man, we have not seen Joellen and Rula in the same place since the polo match, which was like episode four of this season. And that is the one thing I will say, it's nice to see Rula and Jo Ellen able to talk and able to come to some sort of understanding with each other where Rula decides that she doesn't want to see the video. and Joellen is so adamant that she was never trying to, you know, cause problems. She just wanted to, you know, let her know, and she said she wanted proof, and she found her the proof. Like, at the end of the day, it's like, both of the years just drop it. We can't, we can't keep doing this.

And Rula has been, I mean, Rula has been acting like Joe Ellen is some sort of super villain. That she, it's like, this woman is determined to destroy my marriage. and she's looking up for a video for proof. And all I want is for peace. And Jo Allen just can't, she can't understand that me and Brian are fine. And there's all this stuff that happened in the past. And anyone could fake a, could put an AI timestamp on a video. And it's just like, enough.

Joellen is messy. Rula has secrets to protect. Just call a spade of spade and move on. And they finally do. And I was happy to see that. the season, you know, it mostly ends at this, you know, clamshell confessional dinner. The answers are kind of whatever.

Alicia's trying to get, you know, Jo Ellen to talk about the stuff that's gone on with Ruland. She's like, no, like we, you guys, we just got to a point where we're fine. We just got there. But then Rosie is saying that it's not Joe Ellen's fault and that the problem is actually Brian. And the dinner kind of ends with Brian. telling Rula that she did a good thing and that she put her ego and her pride aside for the good

of the family. And can I just say, I have never been in a situation where my husband and father of my children cheated on me and had a mistress that apparently the whole state knows about. But can I just say that if I were ever in that situation and I had looked past it and found forgiveness in my heart and, you know, denied all the, all the evidence that was thrown my way, and my husband was like, thanks for putting your ego aside for the good of the family, that would be worse than the cheating. Shut the. What are you talking about?

You made me look stupid. This is your fault. Brian is diabolical. Because parade the mistress around the state all you want. If Joe Allen's willing, if rule is willing to turn. Turn a blind eye, so be it. But telling her, acting like it would have been prideful for her to, like,

actually take issue with you cheating, or it would have been her ego getting in the way of the family, that's on you. Talk about ego. You have the mistress left, right, and center, and are acting like nothing's wrong. Crazy time. But then we zoom ahead to October of 2025,

and this is really what we've been waiting for. because this is after Brian has been arrested for putting a tracker in Rula's car. And I love when Joellen goes over to Liz's house and she says Rula's car knows more about her marriage than she does. Zing! But Joellen also says that the mistress picked up Brian from jail after he got arrested, which is a good little tidbit. But mostly we see the rest of the ladies over at Rula's house, Ashley, Alicia, Rosie, Kelsey. Rula's telling us what happened and she says that she suspected that he was tracking her based on, you know, certain things that happened. So she went to the BMW dealership and they told her she had

to go to the police. And she ended up, he got arrested and she filed a no contact order. But I just got a pit in my stomach when she goes, I suggested that Brian seek some deeper help whether we're together or not. The answer should, well, it should be when we're not together, because we're definitely not going to be. And in the reunion preview, kind of seems like they're together. I just like, roll out, baby, what are we doing? I mean, the cheating is one thing. He put a tracker on your car.

And I guess the theory is that he was putting a tracker on the car so he would know where she was so he could be doing what he wanted to do and know that he wouldn't get caught because he would know if she was coming. So in theory it's like, oh, I didn't, I wasn't like stalking her. I was just trying to make sure that I could do my stuff in private. I feel like that's how he would explain it where he's like, no, no, no, no, no. I wanted to protect her. So if I knew where she was, I could make sure she didn't see anything that would make her use her ego to upset the family.

Her big old pride and ego. I got to say, I'm not looking forward to seeing Brian at the reunion. Just like the worst taste possible being left in my. mouth at all times. But I am looking forward to the reunion because this has been a strong season. I think I do feel like the last few episodes, it felt like we started to lose a little bit of the momentum from the beginning of the season. I mean, it's fun to see Alicia getting reengaged after nine years. I hope that she actually gets some of the stuff that she's asking for. There was a great moment on Watch What Happens Live earlier this week. It was Cynthia Bailey and Alicia. And

they were, you know, asking questions and Cynthia got asked, what would you do if you had been engaged for nine years and your husband wouldn't put the deed on your name on the deed of the house or give you part of the business? And Cynthia, who has clearly not watched Real House as a Rhode Island, she goes, she goes, ooh, after nine years, I think, I would have to leave at that point. And he just goes, oh, and so for a little. Alicia. And Cynthia realizing that she has just, they've described this woman's exact situation. And she's like, oh, um, give me one more year. You can have one more year. Um, just like the best one. I love, I love Cynthia so much. And I love Alicia too. And, and that's the thing. It's like the, to me, the Alicia and Billy stuff has never been like, oh, Billy seems like a scumbag. Alicia should leave his ass. It's like, no, Billy seems like a guy who, doing what works for Billy, and Alicia needs to make it clear that things also need to work for her. And so, you know, she's now re-engaged. Maybe there's a wedding. Maybe there's not. Whether or not, I don't

care if there's a wedding. Who cares if there's a wedding? There needs to be dollar bills. Signatures on dotted lines. That's what Alicia needs. And so I would hope that by the reunion, there are some concrete updates on that because this show was filmed in the summer. Bitches love a summer. If it's been all the way till next summer and we haven't gotten her name on the deed of something or gotten her some pizza mama direct deposits, we're dragging the feet a little more. And I worry about that more than the nine years of engagement dragged feet. But that's where we're going to end for today. Everybody, go watch, go watch Georgia Gay's peacock microdrama.
