Mention It All - Who Is PK’s Publicist? (RHOBH Reunion & RHOA)
Episode Date: April 2, 2025Dylan is back to break down the latest drama on both RHOA and RHOBH, starting with the unsettling end of Atlanta’s latest episode. Mention It All
A Bravo by Betches podcast
We don't say that
But now we said it
With me, Dylan Hafer
We're going to check me both
Hey everyone
Welcome back to the Mention at All
Podcast
It is Wednesday
And I am so happy to be recording
We have had
Some technical difficulties this morning
But 30 minutes
30 minutes later
I am ready to kickstart this episode
We have a lot to get into
We're going to talk about
Real Housewives of Atlanta
A little bit
because, oh boy, the end of this week's episode was a real doozy.
Oh, my gosh.
I had Kelly on Monday's episode, Kelly Farrell from Atlanta this season,
The Waffle Queen herself, if you haven't had a chance to listen to that one.
It was fun to chat with her.
I always love seeing a new housewife in the studio.
We're going to talk about the Beverly Hills reunion a little bit,
getting into the P.K.
And of it all and what Garcel is feeling going through?
I don't know.
It's an interesting reunion.
And also, Gia.
Gia Judice addressing Teresa and Louise Tax lien situation, which I talked about last week.
But first, I just want to say, yesterday was one of my least favorite days on the internet.
That being April Fool's Day.
I feel like we kind of reached peak online April Fool's Day as a society like six years ago,
you know, when like brands were first kind of being like,
we're going to announce a fake new product that sounds really dumb and everybody's going to fall for it
and share it on their Instagram story.
And housewives, just like everyone else, um, sometimes can't resist a good and by good, I mean bad April Fool's joke.
Um, the two that I saw yesterday that really just made me roll my eyes was Jen Fessler, um, announced that she was going blonde.
Um, that was her April Fool's joke, really just a knee slapper over there. And then Adrian Maloof announced that she's moving to Orange County. Um, which like, to me, I'm reading it. And I'm like, okay. Like, Adri.
like tinsel hair, Adrian Maloof.
I haven't been checking for her since 2011.
I didn't even realize I followed Adrian Maloof on Instagram.
And this is something that's maybe a little bit cursed that like,
why am I following Adrian Maloof on Instagram in 2025?
That's a question we can deal with another time.
But rest assured, she is staying in Beverly Hills forever.
She posted it was like a photo of that like big, ugly house that she lived in all those years
ago on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
And I guess she still lives there.
So congrats to Adrian Maloof.
because I don't know, a house like that is expensive to maintain, and I'm glad she's still got it like that.
But speaking of houses and people who may or may not be staying in their houses long term,
I don't know if Teresa and Louis' house is, you know, up for grabs.
Maybe they're relocating to Orange County someday.
But Gia did address this on her podcast, which I talked about.
She just recently launched a podcast called Casual Chaos, happy for her.
I haven't been listening to the full episodes because I just have other stuff to do.
What that stuff is?
I don't know.
But casual chaos has not been at the top of my list, but there was a clip going around.
She did address Teresa and Louis tax lien situation.
And as is to be expected, Gia is telling us there is nothing to worry about you guys.
That's so silly.
Why would you think there's anything to worry about?
A $3 million lien?
Loans against the home?
Guys, it's just chatter.
Gia said that everything will be resolved.
Her mom has everything under control and there's nothing to worry about.
And also, Louis is like the best stepdad ever.
He treats the daughters as their own.
And Louis is also working on getting everything resolved as well.
Look, I support Gia in her endeavors to be whatever she wants to be.
I think all the daughters should be chasing their dreams and living their lives.
And I believe that Gia believes that everything is under control.
I believe that that's what Louis and Teresa have told the daughters.
Do I believe that that's the truth?
I don't know.
$3 million is a lot of money.
And like I, you know, everybody has different tax situations.
You know, it's tax season.
You know, you got to do what you got to do.
Maybe there's a late payment.
No judgment.
But like, most people don't have $3 million tax liens.
So if there's, where there's smoke, maybe there's fire.
I don't know.
Gia, best of luck with the podcast.
Let's talk about Real Housewives of Atlanta, because this was a bummer.
I got to say, I have been enjoying the season so much, and I still am.
Every minute I have been glued to the TV.
I even, I've rewatched the end of this week's episode because I was like, I need to know exactly what's going on here.
But we have known since the beginning of the season.
I mean, since last summer when all this was happening in real time, that this Kenya and Brit
situation was going to get to a point where things got real ugly.
The thing is, from the outside, before we saw the show, we assumed that the ugliness was
going to be pretty much originating from Kenya.
Because I, look, I love Kenya.
Kenya is an iconic housewife.
She is an iconic villain, and we need iconic villains.
and she has given us so many great moments over the years.
And it really seemed like from, you know, the bird's eye view that it was like, wow, Kenya
had drama with this newbie and Kenya got carried away and she did something really nasty.
And wow, isn't that fucked up that she did something really nasty?
And now she can't be on the show anymore because of it.
And like, we knew that was going to be a bummer and watching these first few episodes of the season,
not having Kenya's perspective, not getting her confessionals, not seeing solo scenes.
we haven't been to more manner a single time.
It sucks.
But we were always assuming, or at least I was assuming, I'll speak for myself, that like,
it was going to make sense that Kenya kind of needed to be dealt with in this manner.
So then watching this episode, we're at the bank, this restaurant, event space, whatever.
Look, Atlanta, like, as a place, is so funny to me because it's like, what do you mean?
there's this restaurant that's shaped like a bank vault.
Like, why?
Who put that there?
Who decided that?
But of course, we're sticking with a theme.
Angela's having this dinner.
Everyone's invited.
Shemia, even Shemia.
Shemia's coming with an olive branch that is...
The olive branch in the literal plastic bottle of olive oil with the lid off is just like so funny.
Shemia is really, really like, she's giving us everything this season and I'm enjoying her so much.
but Shemia and Angela willing to patch things up so they can have dinner at the bank together.
But we play a game at the table, and I do love a good shady housewives game.
This one, I don't think it's like an all-timer.
It's no who do you trust the least.
It's no who would you throw off the wagon.
There's like a ranking, and I would say this vault game where you're like writing down a question
to anonymously ask somebody something.
It's a little pedestrian as Housewives shady table games go.
And it's kind of boring.
It's like, okay, like what color panties is Kenya wearing?
Who cares?
Has Angela ever had a threesome?
She says no.
Maybe that's true.
There's like some weirdness going on with Angela and Charles and maybe things that she's not sharing on the show.
I don't.
There's like, there's some stuff there that she seems to not want to get into, is all I'll say.
But then we get to the Kenya and Brit situation because Brit reads off a piece of paper.
that she claims she didn't write.
She says, is Kenya capable of speaking to Britt nicely and without an attitude?
Like, okay, first of all, it's like, that's not like a fun, shady question.
It's just kind of lame because it's like, if Britt wrote it, it's like, just say it.
And if somebody else wrote it, it's like, who cares?
I don't want my housewives to speak to each other nicely without an attitude.
The attitude is why we're here.
But Kenya gives her pageant answer, her Miss USA response of,
oh, well, I could speak to everyone nicely, and I think I have, including you.
And Britt really just seems to have an agenda here that is a little bit confusing and pretty
much everyone in the group clocking that it seems like an overreaction because Brit is just
like pissed off.
She's like, well, she's like, well, it's not about everyone.
It's about me.
And you speaking to me nicely.
And Kenya's like, okay, fine.
Like, you're trying to have a moment.
And Brit's like, you're trying to have a moment.
And Kenya just, like, is not bothered by Britt Edy, who she's known for three weeks.
She's like, I am the moment.
I don't need you to have a moment.
This is my show.
Kenya's been here for a decade.
And, you know, Brit is, Brit makes, like, a really rookie mistake here when she says, I didn't send for her.
and Kenny's like, yes, thank you for using my catchphrase to try and be shady to me.
Good, good move.
You're exposing how iconic I am.
That's only going to help her.
But then things get really weird because everybody leaves the table.
There's this weird, like really strange, awkward energy where everybody's like in the foyer,
the entranceway of the bank waiting for their cars.
Angela's passing out like 17 gift boxes per person.
It's like you've just come to dinner.
Why do I need like a whole Oscars gifting suite?
Like it's a little weird when you're giving people that much stuff to carry.
But people are waiting for their cars.
Brits like, where's my husband?
Kenya doesn't know if her car is there yet.
It's just like very chaotic.
And I almost wonder on a normal episode, like it didn't seem cameras weren't down.
But normally we just don't see people like shuffling off to their Uber's in the parking lot.
Like the episode would just kind of end.
And so you know something bad is going to happen.
You know something important is going to happen.
And we see Britt in the entranceway.
She's calling Kenya a bitch.
Everyone's standing around.
And she tells Kelly kind of off to the side, well, I still got my pistol.
So I'm good regardless.
What?
Wait, the first time I watched this, I hadn't had a heads up that this was coming.
I was like, wait, sorry.
Pistol?
What are we doing here?
And then she says it again.
They're out in the parking lot and she's like,
she's like, well, she's talking all this stuff.
She's like, I don't play them games.
She's going to find out.
I got whips, fucking pistols, this Hollywood shit.
You say it, you know, bring that to me on camera.
Don't bring this is the real world.
She's going to learn.
I could not believe the things that were coming out of Brits' mouth in that moment,
partially because they're like shocking and really dark.
but also just because it's like, where did this come from?
Why is it this deep?
Kenya just made like one comment to you about your, what, engagement, promise, whatever big, ugly ring?
And all of a sudden you're like whips and pistols?
What are we doing here?
And then Kenya gets in Porsche's car.
They're still on the microphone and they're talking about, you know, her making the whips and pistols comment.
And Kenya, you can tell that this is sort of where Kenya got this idea of how can I get Britt off the show?
Because she's saying, no, she's got to go.
She's got to go.
I want her to bring something to me so she can get off the show.
And I think that this is kind of, you know, unfortunately where Kenya kind of made her wrong move,
that she then takes it into her own hands.
We see in the preview, next week is going to be the Kenya Moore salon moment.
and that's where everything goes wrong.
But watching it, I couldn't believe that this level of aggression,
this level of threatening energy coming from Brit wasn't picked up as a problem by production
or the network or anyone.
It just is really, it was really strange because, you know, obviously I, we don't,
we haven't seen Kenya's stuff play out yet.
And so I don't want to discount what she does to Brit at all because I don't know all the
details yet.
But it just seems like really bizarre that bringing up like pistols on your castmate wouldn't
be seen as like behavior that also needs to be punished.
Like at the very least we got to do like a two week time out or something.
And so I'm just a little, I'm a little worried that after next week's episode, we're not going to see Kenya anymore.
And, you know, when Shamiya was here, when I talked to her, she was sort of implying that post-K Kenya leaving,
Brittany maybe kind of uses that situation to kind of elevate her status within the group.
And I wasn't quite sure what she was getting at.
But after watching this episode, I'm like, that really is a troubling.
thought to me that Brit would be out here talking about whips and pistols, and then once Kenya leaves,
kind of feel like she won that situation.
Like she came out victorious and got Kenya off the show.
And I don't know, like, where we're drawing the line and what we're punishing people for
and how we're deciding the punishment.
But it just seems crazy to me that you can be sort of threatening a fellow castmate like
that and just it doesn't matter. And Kenya kind of said the same thing on on Twitter after the
episode. She said being the longest standing RHOA cast member threatened with whips and
pistols by a newcomer three weeks into filming. Seeing this obsession play out is scary. I wanted protection
and assurances that the threats would be taken seriously. I may be strong, but I'm not bulletproof.
I mean, Kenya, the wordsmith. It just is like a little, it's a little depressing. And I am going to
miss Kenya on the show. And I feel like my early prediction, I think a lot of people have been having
similar reactions after this week's episode. And I think it might kind of backfire on Brit long term.
And I could see her being one and done and then bringing Kenya back next season and kind of like
almost realizing that they made a mistake, both with how the audience is going to perceive it and
also just with like the literal behavior that they're punishing. The punishment seem really
out of whack to me in a strange way.
And from the beginning of the season,
I mean, I've talked about Brit and her husband
having this weird kind of like facade-feeling energy.
Like there's some kind of front that they're putting on on the show.
But the thing is like,
when somebody is putting on a facade on the show,
when somebody is being performative,
trying to pretend to be something they aren't,
and we're thinking about what is below the surface,
I want the thing below the surface to be, like, funny and messy and a little, you know, like, oh, they were trying to act like they were one way, but actually they don't have all their shit together.
But this just feels like the thing under the surface is, like, dark and maybe dangerous in a way that I'm like, I don't.
Do we really want that on our housewives?
I was thinking about in The Lion King, this is so random.
The Lion King, not like the weird, like, spooky CGI one from a few years ago, but like the Rob Minkoff directed, classic, it's like when, um, when Tomon and Pumba pick up the rock and there's like grubs underneath. And it's like I want when you pick up the rock, I want like juicy grubs that are going to be delicious to unpack, to get into. I don't want like you pick up the rock and there's a snake that's going to bite you. And it feels like with Brit, there's like this, you.
just this darkness that the show doesn't need.
Watching Shemia and Angela have their little argument over who has the 1999 knows and
who's Flavor Flav and who's Latoya Jackson, that is giving us like the perfect level of drama.
Whips and pistols is not what we need.
And so, I don't know, we have a lot of this season love to play out.
I don't want to jump to too many conclusions, but I am concerned that the Kenya punishment
is not going to sit well after we watch next week's episode play out.
To be continued, maybe I'll be around.
So good, so good, so good.

Real Houseways of Beverly Hills.
I think that this reunion is an interesting case of maybe there's a little bit more substance that we can get into.
And I think the season was, to me, a little boring.
It felt like we were sort of treading water on the same three topics all season long.
And at least in this first episode, it does feel like we're able to kind of move the ball forward a little bit.
you know, right off the bat, we know that Kyle and Garcel are not in a good place. And he's doing his
little check-ins. And, you know, he asks Kyle about people criticizing her for not sharing enough on the
show. And she's like, well, I would like to see more of Garcell's life. And also, I mean, I guess
Sutton's sustainability line is cool or whatever. Like, Kyle clearly is not happy with Sutton and
Garcell. Garcel is like, somebody told me at the airport that Kyle said we're good and we're obviously
not. So I don't know. Kyle brings her crystals to the reunion to bring her strength. So at least we
have that. I don't know. Like bringing crystals to the reunion, it's kind of like, just like do it.
Kyle's done this 15 times. You don't need the crystals. I also just want it. Erica,
sometimes she just can't help herself. Andy is like, you look great. Who are you wearing? And she's like,
I don't know, some random designer that I had made for me.
Girl, say the name of the fucking designer.
It's so easy.
Aside from the fact that Erica has like a whole lawsuit going on about not paying a designer,
which is a whole separate thing, it's like somebody made a custom garment for you.
Say the name.
It's not like you bought it at Nordstrom.
Erica is like, Erica's really frustrated me.
The whole thing with Garcell not sharing enough of her personal life, I don't understand
why Garcel in that moment isn't bringing up the fact that we heard about Erica's renovation
for 15 weeks in a row.
Erica being like, well, we want to see who you're dating.
And Garcell's like, I'm not dating.
And Erica's like, well, then maybe you're just not that interesting.
I think so many people in this cast have issues with like not sharing enough.
This has been a Beverly Hills conundrum for years that this show has struggled with getting people
to really be open and honest.
And I just think like it's weird to me how people are selectively in the hot seat.
And I think that Garcell deserves it in a certain sense.
I mean, the stuff with the robbery, it's just like, leave it alone.
And Garcel, Garcel, like, acts like she doesn't want to talk about it.
But then at the same time, it's been years and we're still talking about it.
And she is, like, standing in her feelings that, you know, it was an inside job or whatever.
And like, I just don't understand or I wish that Garcel was able to like take a step back and be like,
this is a losing argument.
Let me focus on something else.
Because Derreet obviously is kind of in a sympathetic position at this reunion.
We spend 20 minutes of this episode talking about her and PK.
And so then to stay so firm in the thing of like, well, this traumatic thing that happened to you,
I think it was a setup.
I think it was organized.
it's just never going to land.
And I mean, I've criticized Kyle for a lot of this season
about how her sort of strategy handling things
wasn't going to land with the viewers.
I guess, like, you don't want Housewives to constantly be in their head
about what's going to play well with the viewers,
because then I think people play it a little too safe
and people just are scared to say anything.
But it does kind of like,
if you were on a show like this for several years,
wouldn't you want to kind of like tailor your strategy to what's going to make people like you
or what's going to make people agree with you?
I might be totally off base here.
Maybe there is a thing that when you're in it, you're like a little too close to to pull back
and really think about that.
I don't know.
It's complicated.
But let's talk about P.K. and Doreen.
So P.K. is not at the reunion.
Andy says that he was asked to come.
and he declined, but he did send a statement.
And this statement is, it's a lot.
I was kind of pleasantly surprised because I thought P.K.
was going to be like, I don't want to talk about it.
I'm not there.
The end.
But it's this like long chunk of text that is like pretty harsh, pretty brutal.
And like for Doreet to say that, you know, oh, there's less and less of a chance that
we're getting back together and I wouldn't want it as is, but I'm still in love with him.
and, you know, he sees the kids every Saturday night when he's in town, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
P.K. seems to, like, not really give a fuck about Doreet right now because he says, first of all,
he didn't think it would be constructive for him to be at the reunion.
He takes issue with her saying on camera that he's a bad father.
I mean, wouldn't you?
He says that partially his issue is that the kids will see and hear that at a time not of their choosing.
Then he kind of gets into his, like, speechifying moment a little bit.
and he says that many people have wanted to speak out on his behalf,
and that he has asked them not to,
because, quote, the truth shouldn't need a champion.
And I refuse to stoke a fire.
I did not ignite.
I don't know.
Who helped P.K. write this statement.
This is giving, like, crafted.
Like, this is giving, like, script doctor,
like, Olivia Pope went in and was like,
we're going to figure out, like, the right statement to make.
And it ends with the debris on memory.
never would have allowed this, much less caused it. That woman embodied kindness, integrity,
and grace. I can only hope this version of Doret finds her way back to the person she once was.
I mean, damn, P.K. I didn't know he had this in him. This is kind of cursed, but I was watching this
episode yesterday at the actual, the exact time that Cory Booker was doing his like breaking the
record for the Senate speech doing his 24-hour filibuster. And I had turned on MSNBC to watch him
like break the record and paused the episode at the exact time that they were talking about
this statement. So Corey Booker giving this like impassioned 24-hour speech about fascism and Donald
Trump and all of that is kind of like in my mind running together with P.K.'s statement about
Derreet getting back to the person she once was. And in a way, I mean, two very passionate men
talking about something, you know, very important to them. I don't want to compare Cory Booker and
PK. I just like, everybody's making speeches. P.K., P.K. has a lot to say. I do, I wish P.K.
was at the reunion because I just think like we have not seen very much of P.K.
On camera this season.
And maybe the last time that he and Dorete filmed a scene together, it wasn't very productive.
But I always just like, I don't know, I'm a fan of people showing up.
I'm a fan of having these conversations, bringing them to the table.
Maybe there could have been like a Doreet and PK one-on-one with Andy, like a separate little
sit down. I don't necessarily think that P.K. needs to be on the reunion stage with all of the ladies. That
seems like a little bit unfair, perhaps. But I don't know. I just, you have to wonder, it's like,
are we ever going to see PK. on the show again? To see, I mean, I was surprised actually on
this week's Atlanta to see Ralph with a confessional. I was like, I didn't know we were doing that again.
Ralph showing up in a blazer and no shirt for a solo confessional. That was a little bit of a jump scare.
where's P.K.
PK is, alas, I don't know, in London, somewhere, not spending a lot of time with the kids.
That's tough.
Saturday nights when he's in town.
I don't know.
Andy, Andy's asking Doreet a lot of questions, and I would say to Doreet's credit, she's being
pretty open about a lot of stuff that's going on with her and Pek.
He asks if her glam and fashion and everything was a contributing factor to the
issues in their relationship, and she says that it kind of was. But then she also is like,
PK loves it. He loves the whole thing of being in public and people coming up and taking a photo
and being like sort of this weird fake celebrity. And like, I guess P.K. spent most of his career being
like boy George's, you know, background sidekick. And so being like the background sidekick of
a real housewife is probably pretty fun for him. But then,
Andy asks Kyle if fame changed Doreet.
And Kyle kind of agrees with Pekai and says that this season she saw a Doreet that she didn't know.
And this is when we get into the Doreet and Kyle stuff.
And I would say we don't get super deep into it.
I have a feeling more of this is going to be dealt with later.
But Dorete does say it was hurtful for Kyle to question when she was talking about P.K.
You know, this monster that P.K. can be.
and she was like, well, I've never seen that side of PK.
Which, like, that was the craziest thing that Kyle said all season.
To me, like, I took issue with lots of little things, but like for your, at one point,
really good friend to open up to you about how toxic her husband is and your reaction to be like,
hmm, that doesn't ring a bell for me.
Just like a wild thing to say to someone.
And I think that that probably cut a little deeper than maybe Dereet,
even realized at the time, that that kind of like lack of just accepting and trusting what you're
telling your friend, it's hard to come back from that. And then even at the reunion, Sutton saying,
it seemed like Derreet was throwing her husband under the bus. It's like Sutton, my love,
shut up. Why? Like, Sutton deciding that that's something that she should have an opinion about,
that is what makes Sutton a hard person to defend.
there have been many situations where I think that people are, you know, not nice to Sutton.
It's, she doesn't always get a fair shake, whatever.
But then it comes back to these moments where it's like, girl, why?
Why are you jumping in?
And then Andy's asking Sutton about forensic accountants and what they're going to find with
P.K. and Deret.
And Sutton is like, well, I am worried for Derreet.
And Durit's like, you have to like someone.
You have to care about somebody to be worried about them.
I don't think, I don't know if that's true.
Maybe to be like, to be like concerned from a deep place, but like, I'm worried about Teresa and Louis.
I don't like them that much.
I don't want them to lose, like, I want them to pay their taxes.
I think that Sutton wants Derreet to be okay.
I don't think that she, she obviously didn't feel the need to text Derreet when she heard about the separation.
Kyle was the only one that did that.
We already know.
Even with that, though, I'm like, Kyle is so focused on comparing her response to Garcel and Sutton.
And it's like, Garcel and Sutton aren't friends with Derreet.
Why would they be, they didn't have a reason to text her.
You did.
You texted PK first.
She just has this.
I feel like I'm coming back in circles and just, you know, finding more reasons to drag Kyle.
But I don't know.

Own the dream. The only other thing I really want to talk about, you know, with these reunions,
it's like some of the stuff matters. Some of it doesn't. I don't really care. The Morgan Wade stuff,
I just want to touch on one more time. Because we get an interesting,
sort of moment of a revelation, or at least it was a revelation to me, if it was mentioned before and I
missed it, oh well, but that Kyle came to Sutton and Garcel off camera, off camera, and asked
them to not bring up the Morgan Wade stuff on camera. And this is so interesting to me, because
Kyle's whole thing about Morgan, this season, has been like, why are you asking me about this?
nothing to share. I don't have anything to say. Morgan's not here. I don't want to talk about Morgan,
but also there's nothing to talk about. So if there really is nothing going on, why do you feel
like it's important for you to go behind the cameras and say, hey guys, I know that there's a lot
of questions about me and Morgan, but specifically let's not talk about it on camera. That is only
ever going to make it seem like there is something to talk about. It's the same thing where
we have on Summerhouse right now, where Craig has asked Paige off camera not to make it seem like
her business stuff is more important or doing better than his. That makes it seem like you're
really worried about seeming like your business stuff isn't going that well. And same with Kyle here.
And, you know, Garcell says that after they have that conversation, Sutton said that it seemed like
a chess move on Kyle's part. And I mean, it kind of does. I do think it's funny, though, Garcel,
Garcel acting like her telling Kyle to just like be a lesbian if she wants to be a lesbian at
Chuck Echise was like completely innocent and fun. It's like, girl, we are all guilty here of being
a little messy and I think to pretend otherwise is just silly. We're on housewives. Just own it,
baby, in the words of Lisa Vrida. But yeah, I mean, it's a pretty good reunion part one. I'm a little
worried. Garcel, they break for lunch and Garcel feels like she can't win. She feels like everybody
hates her. She is already kind of over it, you can tell. And I hope that we aren't, I hope that we
can have a productive part two. I hope that we can all come back. I hope that Garcel can like
settle down a little bit. I know that she ends up walking off the reunion. It's funny at the beginning.
She says that her goal for the day is to be able to get the full cast picture at the end. Foreshadow,
we know that she doesn't stay for the cast photo.
I don't know.
