Ha ha, laugh, funny.
Mention It All.
A Bravo by Betches podcast.
We don't say that, but now we said it.
With Dylan Hafer.
Who don't check me, though?
And Barry Rosenfeld.
I need to start drinking alcohol.
Now go to sleep week.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome back to the Mention at All podcast.
I'm Dylan Hafer.
And I'm Barry Rosenfeld.
And we are joined right now in studio, which is new for us by Tom Sanval and Ariana
Maddox.
Hello.
Hi.
Hi.
Yay.
First time in studio.
I know. Tom, this is your second time on our podcast, but we were on Zoom last time.
So this is more fun.
Way more fun.
Way more fun.
But we did get to see your new kitchen in the back.
Oh, I was like, were you taking them around the house?
I don't remember.
Okay, I have to say, by the way, your home decor is so lovely.
And people gave you so much shit for last season on the show, not having it all together.
And I know you were, you were like, we're not doing any fucking rooms to go.
you know and it came together and when those though I posted those like photos when you did
yeah yeah and it was like people were losing their minds they're like this looks amazing oh my gosh
thanks anything less than from these two like it's perfection oh my god thank you well that's like
the thing is things like that take a while because also okay I've always just when every time
anytime I've moved it's just I bring the stuff I had with me at the old place yeah and then I try to
figure out how does it work for the new place and, you know, just shove it wherever.
Right. You're like, okay, fine, I'll get a new nightstand, but like the couch is staying.
Exactly. But then it's like, we move to this house and then it's like, well, wait, I don't,
I don't have enough stuff to even try to fill, like, a house. So, and I don't understand things like
measurements, you know, like, you look at a room and it's like, oh, there's actually like
rules to like the size that you're supposed to have for things. Yeah. And I'm used to like living in a
apartment where like this is the this would be like apartment so yeah it takes and then also
now everybody is getting a little taste of what we dealt with with the supply chain yes oh my
god i yeah i moved in august and i was like so i thought i was going to go like six months
without a couch it's it's intense yeah we we have uh seat covers that we ordered nine months ago
yeah literal pieces of cloth pieces of cloth things are backed up like 14 i could have learned
how to sew and laid them myself.
It's like on the loom somewhere
being woven. Yeah.
We could have become loomers at this
point. Weaver's.
I feel like you guys didn't have time for that with all the
stuff you were doing. Oh my gosh. Well, yeah.
Now we have like a lot
going on. What was it like having
so you guys had a year off
from the show for the first time in forever.
What was that like
having that kind of downtime and then getting
back into the swing of things?
Obviously with a lot of cast changes
with the pandemic still going on.
How was that?
We kept ourselves pretty busy.
I mean, we, you know, it was kind of nuts.
Like everybody stopped doing in-person events and they started doing virtual events.
And they're like, oh, we want to have somebody come on into a cocktail.
So we did so many cocktail tutorials.
We did a lot of virtual stuff, which was great that we had the opportunity to be able to do that.
Because otherwise, it really was.
well I mean in the beginning it was just nothing.
And it's just when things like that are up in the air and you're just like not sure of what's going to happen.
And then all of a sudden it was like, oh no, we're coming back and we're going to be filming.
And then you, there's like a certain muscle memory to filming that comes back like very quickly.
You know, certain, you know that you're going to talk about what happened before.
You know you're going to talk about what's happening now and you know you're going to talk about,
oh are you going to this on Friday
that sort of thing so you're like
okay but there's like a real rustiness
to talking to people in person
at all after a year of living the pandemic
so like I feel like there was so many like awkward
times where I was just like I'm not used to going out
I'm not used to drinking anymore
I'm not used to partying and I'm not used to like
just being around people like someone says high
and you're just like
Yeah.
Hello.
But it's like now we're going to do all that.
We're going to get back into the swing of life, but like on a show, on camera.
So, yeah.
And it's like, wait, everyone's coming back to our house again.
Like, we just did this four days ago.
I remember last year the reunion, your reunion was the first one where like they actually brought in like.
Oh, the virtual, yeah.
The virtual like stuff.
I loved it.
I mean, it was pretty amazing.
Stuff, meaning like microphones.
Yeah.
They had a roll.
We had to set that up because they would drop off a giant box, yeah, with instructions.
And then we would be on like FaceTime with one of our camera people, Wu actually is who I was on the phone with, like setting it up.
We had a roll of like paper and you unrolled it and there was an arrow with a line.
And so you knew how far away to put your chair.
It was like a whole thing.
But it was nice because since we were at home, we had.
I can't involve in the pool right after we were done.
Because normally during a reunion, yes, of course, on a break, people might go have a cocktail.
Right.
But for the most part, it's like a pretty sober day.
Yeah.
Maybe at the end we have a cocktail.
And then, of course, afterwards, we're like, I got a drink after that.
Right.
But during the virtual reunion, we had like coffees next to us, waters, diacokes, a cocktail.
And then my dogs are right there, so it gets stressful.
And I can just be like, oh.
And I'm in slippers.
Like it was amazing.
Nothing will ever top on the Beverly Hills last season.
Denise Richards was just like more and more in the bag.
And she got her lines for some so like a show she was doing.
Oh my God.
She was multitasking, but like at the wrong time.
Homegirl is checked the fuck out.
I miss her.
I miss her on the show.
I feel like I don't miss her on the show because I feel like it wasn't maybe the best
fit for housewives.
But I miss her on the show because I just love her so much.
Right.
There's something so refreshing about somebody being on a show that, like, doesn't care in a way.
She's like, I'm Denise fucking Richards.
Like, I don't really need to be here, essentially.
Yeah.
All right.
So speaking about reunions, we know you guys just wrapped yours.
But in other news, James and Raquel.
Yeah.
Everyone was surprised with their breakup.
Have you guys talked to them since?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I've talked to, I've talked to Raquel a little bit more.
and then I've definitely
like reached out to James
and just like sent him good vibes
and stuff like that and then he
you were gonna spend time with James
and you end up not
Yeah he was hanging out with his brother
the other day
Okay yeah
Yeah but yeah just want to
Harry
It's like you just want to
You know
Make sure they both know
that it's like we didn't
give a shit about them
Because they were together
It's like we love both of them
As friends
A part as well as we love them together as well.
And I feel like especially in the last, you know, two, like two seasons, which is like, I guess three years,
Raquel has like become so much more part of the group and not just like James's girlfriend,
Raquel.
So if, yeah, I mean, it feels like, I don't know.
Obviously it changes something because they're not like together, but it doesn't really
change that much in terms of where the friendships are.
Yeah.
And especially like with the girls in the group like me, Sheena, Charlie, Raquel, like,
That was like a little like pandemic group like of girls right there.
We would go down to San Diego, save with Sheena and hang out.
So it's like we plan on still doing that.
You know, we're going to, we've been trying to plan like a little like spa day or something like that.
Yeah.
I love that.
I love how close you are with Charlie because I know I saw you love you love to reply to a tweet now and then.
And I saw the somebody was like these like fake force friendships and you're like,
Charlie's like my best friend.
I don't know what you're talking about.
I talked to her more than I talked to Tom about shit.
What?
It's like sort of in a way.
Well, because Charlie won't,
Charlie won't get annoyed with me for being shady.
Like if I,
if I text her something that's like shady,
you'll be like,
no, don't say,
you know.
And I'm like,
no,
just let me be a bitch.
I think that's your,
I think that's your,
uh,
subconscious saying that.
Oh,
maybe.
It's not me.
It's not,
you're like,
I didn't say anything.
No,
I like to be a little,
you know,
little shady bitch.
with my girlfriend sometimes.
But yeah, and I do, that's the thing is like, well, also I feel like in general our show's not
getting a lot of promo.
Yeah.
And so I'm like, I like to go on the hashtag, like especially on a Tuesday when the show's
very.
You're doing the work.
And I'm putting in my craft.
Yeah.
The boss is going to be like, can everyone see what Ariana's doing and do that also?
Yeah.
So I'm like, I want to engage.
with it because I feel like some people are not engaging with it.
Right.
So sometimes that I am a little, there's a little bit like, why is she clapping back at, you know,
Sue,
yellow robe Smith?
It could be Yellow Robe Smith.
And I'm like, I got to clap back to that person because they're saying some shit that's
ridiculous.
This person has got a shout out, which means they are in, you know where they are.
It's like at like Stasi's Day on updates being like, Ariana is so annoying.
It has to stand updates.
Oh my God.
I mean, it definitely is a different vibe this season just because, you know, there are so many people that left the show after last season.
But I will say, like, I feel like you guys are kind of more of a cohesive friend group than you've been in a long time.
I think so, too.
I think it was probably also hard for people to see you with those people for so long.
And then they're like, wait, how is she friends with or how are they friends with all these?
And I almost feel like they could have explored those relationships and it would have made more sense.
But I feel like that's a lot of the stuff that just like for some reason was not really included in what aired.
So now it's like, wait, what happened?
And there's also like a year and a half essentially in between.
So there's all of the stuff that happened during the pandemic of us hanging out.
And I think too, people are like, we're used to seeing them with these people.
and we're used to seeing those people on the show,
but we're also used to seeing people at Sir,
and we're used to seeing,
and it's like, but we can't really do that.
We're still in, this was a COVID season.
Right.
So there's only so much, like, when we would film things at Sir,
at Tom Tom, it had to be, like, so very strictly, right?
It can't just be, we're going to follow them while they work.
Yeah, we can't be, like, pouring shots down each other's mouths.
We literally can't, like, there was things, like, when we had,
like, the culinary party and stuff like that,
there's, like, we couldn't,
We're not allowed to cook for people.
I mean, to be honest, we forget that too while watching.
They had to show us, like, making food.
And then they had to, like, throw that food away.
Wow.
So they could have the COVID specialist paid food for us.
And then people.
Yeah, so they would take a picture of what you put on your plate.
Yeah.
And then go recreate your plate.
Wow.
From a COVID food specialist.
From a COVID food specialist.
Because we can't.
Or, like, making cocktails.
I can make Ariana a drink, but I can't make Tom Schwartz a drink.
Even though every.
Everybody's like tested and like allowed to be in the scene together.
Yeah.
That's the thing is there's just like so many crazy COVID things.
And you guys bring a man of mystery party that were individually wrapped.
Cheese plates.
Did you guys say the tiny cheese plates?
Because they were individually wrapped.
Because we couldn't pick off of like Katie couldn't get.
Right.
She wanted to get one of those like big beautiful charcuter.
Yeah.
But they, she wouldn't because then it would be all of us eating off of the same thing.
It's funny then because people, I think.
think don't know that like that's news to me and so then people on like social media will be
oh like this party seems kind of awkward why are they just sitting in the sitting in the living
room while they're in the kitchen and it's like because that's the only way you're allowed to even
do a scene together yeah like I couldn't even spit in people's mouths on a way so annoying
you're like well technically you can spit in my mouth yes that's so funny I feel like it's like
okay another like themed party at tom and ariana is like so exciting for you that is crazy though
because i personally always just assume that you know once everyone is tested and like okay to be
in the scene together that there's no kind of rules on top of that oh yeah that it's like so
specific well you know when you make an assumption you make an ass out of you and i'm sure i have
heard that before oh man tom's hungover dad jokes are they come
So I got to say, Tom, any hard feelings about paying for part of Rachella now?
Absolutely not.
That was so amazing.
It was such a fun thing to plan.
And I would have done that.
I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.
It looked fun for everyone.
It wasn't to, yes.
That's the thing, yeah, is it was really so magical for everybody that.
Well, and we didn't know there was a proposal coming on top of that.
That stuff was almost like the cherry on top of what was.
already so awesome for everyone.
So, you know, yes, they're not,
they're called off the engagement,
but like it still was like a really amazing time.
Yeah.
And I still feel like I'm glad that you,
I'm glad it happened.
I don't know.
It would have been less amazing if James had to foot the bill himself,
let's just say.
I'm sure it would have been.
It could have even,
who knows what it would have been
if it was just James trying to figure out something on his own.
But that's the thing is like,
it makes it so much,
easier to talk somebody into doing something when you're like, I'll split it with you.
You know what I mean?
They're like, oh, my God, fireworks are like $8,000.
I'll be like, dude, let's do it.
I'll split it with you.
Do a couple extra cocktail classes.
It makes it so much easier.
Get on cameo a little bit this week.
I was going to get some cameos going.
I don't know if you have been watching Ultimate Girls trip at all, the Housewives.
No, I want to binge it.
They were talking last week's episode, Luann and Kenya and Teresa were talking about cameo
because they don't have like a fourth wall on that show.
Which I think is like, it's very cool.
God, everybody loves that.
We got to do that.
Louan's like looking through a cameo and she has like 30 requests and she's like,
yeah, like six figures, baby.
They were like Luann, you got to raise your prices and she says, no, because I like
the volume.
I like having volume.
She was like telling us her business.
See, that's the thing is like when people I see online will be like, why is so-and-so's
cameo price so high?
And I'm like, because they don't want to do that many.
Yes.
I remember,
There was somebody, somebody who joined Cameo that was like too famous to be on cameo,
but their price was like $5,000.
So it's, okay, they're going to do one a month.
Exactly.
Yeah.
They'll do one thing and then.
We did like 40 something cameos in one day.
I'll never forget.
Wow.
And you guys raised a lot of money like early pandemic times.
That was, that was really cool.
You were like the pre-PPP loan.
We were.
We didn't know.
Yeah.
People are like, what is this unemployment situation?
Like, you know, it was, yeah, we just, we were like, we got to do something.
I don't know.
I just watched forgetting so much.
We got to do something.
Girl, winter is so last season.
And now Springs got you looking at pictures of tank tops with hungry eyes.
Your algorithm is feeding you cutoffs.
You're thirsty for the sun on your shoulders.
That perfect hang on the patio sundress.
Those sandals you can wear.
all day and all night.
And you've had enough of shopping from your couch.
Done hoping it looks anything like the picture
when you tear open that envelope?
It's time for a little in-person spring treat.
It's time for a trip to Ross.
Work your magic.
This episode is brought to you by Prime.

Your next obsession is waiting.
Watch only on Prime.
So we like being shady as well.
Yes.
So I'm just going to jump right into it.
So what were your thoughts watching Lala talk so much shit about Sheena and Brock's relationship, knowing that hers.
It's so, it's, well,
So obviously because we shot the reunion just now,
we watched the rest of the season that couple days before they send us.
Sometimes it'll be like, it could be a very rough cut and things could change.
But it's like a good idea of knowing like where the season's headed.
And it's just now with what happened with Lala and Randallel,
every time there's a scene that's like the two of them being like relationship be.
it's like so cringe
I cringe
I mean even if they were still together
I'm like I'm just gonna say I was like I'm cringe
I think the week that there were first
like real rumors about Lala and Randall
like that night's episode
was Lala being like
Sheena you need to have a backup plan
because if that man does something
and he's not there and it's just like
oh and also
giving everything that he did
I meant cringe like relationship yeah yeah yeah
with relationship yeah yeah with relations
Yeah, and it makes it cringe not because she loves him or it's cringe because of how he acted and the things that came out of like what he was doing that whole time.
So I'm like, you know, you're watching the episode and she's saying something like that like you have a backup plan, which felt very foreshadowing.
But then there'll also be like a moment where she's like, I'm going to dress like a cheerleader for Randall.
Yeah.
And it's like knowing that she's like in this, she's in it.
You know, she's doing this, you know,
Ra Rasa Bumbaa for him.
And like, was he texting someone that day?
Yeah, it's like knowing about.
It's like he's cringe.
He wasn't texting me.
You know what I mean?
Like, it's not cringe for her to be in love with him.
It's he's fucking cringe for doing the shit that he's doing.
I think it's all cringe to me because it's like even, you know,
even the way she was acting just was like, yo, like your relationship is not like the
right.
Well, no.
Our relationships have their.
their issues and their problems.
I mean, that's life.
But I think what set her up for, like, I don't know, this fall from grace with their
breakup is the way that she was kind of dictating how everyone else should be in their
relationships.
She thought she was like an Olympic skater when it came to, like, relationships.
I feel like Lala, that's something.
Michelle Kwan.
That's something Lala has sort of, like, struggled with is that she can be very, like,
holier than thou in a situation where it's, like,
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, I can be a little holier than now sometimes too.
But I think over as, well, like that's okay.
That's fine when I do it.
It's different as you.
Yeah, yeah.
I think what, well, Lala's six or seven years younger than me.
And I think that the older I've gotten, the more I'm just like, okay, no.
Because if I put myself in that person's shoes, so I feel like I can't really.
be too judgey unless someone's like being just like a complete dick but it's like hard
because I think that's also why I struggle to be like really you know like fuck you fuck you on the
show is because I'm like well but if it was uh and I like start like thinking about what I like
how would I if that was me like what would I do what would I say oh my God I wouldn't struggle at
all yeah but I feel like Lala might be less I don't know dictator
as she gets older because I feel like especially now she's like really learning a lesson.
No, but we've already seen a change in her from when she's came on.
So I agree.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Also, I can't stop thinking about what you said.
I kind of like that as a segment.
Like it's cringe to me.
It's all cringe to me.
We're all cringe down here.
It's so funny.
Everyone, like the immediate reaction when James and Raquel posted about ending their engagement was like,
James and Lala are both single now and it's like, I don't think.
I don't think that shit has sailed.
I mean, he's 29 and I guess she's 29, is she 29 or 30?
29.
She's about to be 30, I think.
She's 30.
Yeah.
I mean, he's a 29 year old guy who's been in a relationship with someone for a while.
I don't think his immediate reaction is going to be stepdad.
I don't think that's, yeah.
I didn't even think about that.
Yeah, that's a good point.
Yeah.
I mean, you know what I mean?
I just think that they're a completely different.
I think that they're good friends,
but I think they're completely different places in their lives.
Okay, that side note,
that was my one question of their breakup.
Like, where's Graham?
I mean, I don't want to.
No.
I don't.
I don't want to, you know, is he safe?
He's safe.
He's safe.
He's safe.
He's loved.
Graham is their dog, by the way.
For those who don't know.
Graham Cracker.
My little Graham Cracker.
You guys have some great dogs.
on Vanderpump Rules, I gotta say.
They are a great dog.
And you guys had a quarantine dog.
Yeah.
We did.
We got a quarantine.
We rescued.
Maya is a big old bag of meat.
She's a big, she's a goofball.
She is such a goofball.
She's crazy.
I kind of miss hearing Brittany's voice being like, Kingsley!
What did she say that one time?
She's like, you're a real cute guy or something is.
I know.
It's like I miss those dogs more than I miss the people.
Remember what was the virtual reunion?
where they would not stop bars.
They were on the couch, like, behind them.
And I think it was like one of our producers
or Andy or someone who was like,
we set up a dog sitter for you guys.
Like, why are they barking?
Yeah.
I'm like, sorry.
I have to ask,
we've noticed there's a lot of pickleball
on this season.
I'm so tired of fucking pickleball.
Was there like a sponsorship?
Is this product placement?
I wish I knew.
Because the first time in Palm Springs, I was like, okay.
Fun vacation activity.
We're all going to have a little fun.
I mean, it was a thousand degrees out.
Yeah.
So it was really brutal.
Yeah, because that was like June or something.
In the Palm Springs.
Yeah.
I had Tanner all over me and wearing a white shirt.
It was just.
With your wig.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
It was 80s theme.
Right.
Andre obviously wig.
80s.
I, don't make fun of me.
I love pickleball.
I play pickleball.
I like plug it every time.
But like we're every episode we're like if we feel like we're in the tournament too.
We're like what.
I literally they didn't use my interview by they used the one that was in the episode last night was me being like I can't say anything shady about this amazing singer.
Which is very true.
The singer is amazing.
Yes.
But I did say stuff in that interview where I was like, okay, but what is happening?
Right.
Like I'm sorry.
Like first of all, what are we doing?
Pickleball again.
Like, I can't.
It was like the fourth time.
But also,
the whole thing with the parties
and the COVID testing and everything.
So why could he come?
Why could like the U.S.
Olympic pickleball stars be flown in?
I would love to know the answer to that question as well.
I don't know.
I don't know.
They're like,
so we can't do a charcutory board,
but the American Idol runner up.
He has antibodies.
He had to submit like toenail clippings
and cubic.
Oh my gosh.
I got.
It was so bizarre.
It's also funny because I feel like Randall,
a lot of the time,
isn't that excited about being on camera,
and then it's like,
but he wants to show up his pickleball skills.
And multiple pickleball tournaments.
And poker.
And poker.
The poker night.
Yeah.
He only likes it when there's like a game involved
that he can make Schwartz look like a dumb ass.
Yeah.
Well,
Randall apparently was like a fan of the show before he met Lola.
That's not shocking.
Yeah.
Really?
I can't picture him sitting down and just turning on the show.
Apparently.
But he's like in the, he's in the like the scene and like, you know, Vanderpumperl is it's like in
LA.
Like I feel like everybody kind of knows.
Yeah.
I remember when like they first like probably like one of our first times actually meeting him
where it was like this is the guy that I'm seeing.
You know.
Yeah.
We were over at Sheena's to watch our show one night.
We were like, oh, let's just watch this episode together.
Really?
And he came over there.
It was like, this is crazy.
I'm watching the show with you guys.
Like.
Was this when she was in Marina Del Rey or before that?
This was her before that.
Okay.
Her Park La Brea apartment.
Got it.
I just miss alleyway scenes.
Like more than anything, I would go up anything.
Oh, the alley.
Yeah.
For a drunken scene in the back alley.
Yeah, that's Sir Dumpster.
Yeah.
She's a sweetheart.
Tom's like I've had too many memories back there.
I feel like I want to say that there were some back there this year.
We saw, I think last episode we saw James come pick Raquel up or something.
Or he stopped off to like talk to Lisa because Lisa was like posted up at her sur table.
And it was like everybody has to like take turns going.
What is it like when you're in the court?
Oh yeah.
It's like the tutors.
Yeah.
And like Charlie comes by.
She's like, Lisa, I'm vaccinated.
I don't have to wear my mask anymore.
And then like Raquel's like, I'm going to take a break.
And then James sits down for like a 20 minute conversation.
I love that.
Should you have some whiskey?
I, do we want, okay, we have, we have the Tom's good love and whiskey on the table right now.
It's very, it's very nice bottle.
Thank you.
We worked with, we worked with, um, a label designer or graphic artist that Ariana went to college with, right?
Josh, Riza, shout out to him.
Yeah, Josh Arisa.
We were, we went to college together.
Yeah, he's a nice person.
What was your vibe in college?
Like, what were, were you like?
Mine was Sir, back alley.
Mine was, I was a theater, I was a theater major.
Okay, same.
Yeah, so very that.
Okay.
But then I was also on the dance team.
So also very that.
I lived in the dorms like way longer than most people.
Where'd you go to school?
Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.
So you were just like busy the whole time basically.
I was really busy.
Yeah, and like my roommate, my first roommate was like a philosophy major.
So when I first got there, it was like all my friends were her friends because she was a sophomore and she, all of her friends were also like either in philosophy or whatever.
So I was like, I don't know.
There's like there there's been some discrepancies online of like what I was like in college.
But I'm like someone was like all of her friends were like really hot and they were like the mean girl squad.
And I was like, I love how you have to be hot to be hot.
hot, but I was like, but what?
Yeah, I'm sure there's lots of like Reddit threads out there of like, I went to,
I went to ninth grade with Ariana from Vanderpump Rules.
Ask me anything.
Ask me.
I don't know who this bitch is.
Exactly.
But yeah, my college vibe was very like colorful polo shirts, popped collars, denim skirts,
you know, all of that.
My mom says I went to Tom College.
I was going to say, what was yours like?
I was a traveling.
model.
Tom College.
Yeah.
Take a credit card debt.
Yeah.
I love that.
Yeah, but at least you don't have
student loans like I did.
Wait, Barry, do you want to try the whiskey?
Okay.
Do you have to ask twice?
Tom, can you tell us?
That one says this is a bad idea.
Tom, how is the,
what is the status of the bar?
So we are currently...
Wait till you sit down.
Wait till you sit down.
Tom, sit down.
You have to speak into the like,
Oh, you're scrolling.
Oh, my God.
We got it.
We got it.
Oh, God.
He's doing a bit.
Stop.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, okay.
So, wait, what are we talking about again?
What is the status of your bar?
Is it still called Schwartz and Sandy?
It is.
It is called Schwartz and Sandys.
Wait, also, I want to, you know, one of the reasons why Schwartz didn't like that name to begin with,
which he told me even before we started a.
He liked that name.
It's like our own red table talk.
Oh, spill it, spill it.
He said he was like, one of his biggest reasons for not liking that name is because he's like,
uh, Franklin Village doesn't want two douchebag reality stars like opening him up a place.
So he didn't want our names on it.
Oh.
And I told him on camera before we went to Palm Springs, I was like, yo, dude, if it's that big of a
deal to you, you can name the bar.
Just incorporate our names in it because it brings value.
It adds value.
You know what I mean?
Right.
Right.
There's a reason, I mean, aside from the fact that it's like cute to have a pun with your name and the name, it's like there is actual like incentive to do that.
You think Lisa can open up a place in Cesar's and not have her name on it?
She can't call it like, you know, like the rainy or like the rainforest cafe.
Yeah, she can't call it.
It's got to be like the Vanderpump rainforest cafe.
She wouldn't open like Villa Blanca now.
No.
Yeah.
That would be like Villa Vanderpump.
Yeah.
Like her blog is very van derpump.com.
Her Vanderpumpdegrault Rose.
Van der Pum Sangria.
It's like she puts her name on everything.
Because it adds value.
Right.
Like I mean it's just like marketing 101 that it's like the reason these ventures are able to happen like this is because you guys have the platform.
And so it's like use the platform.
But if like use it.
Use it until you can't.
If you're taking a fucking loan to do the bar, do the bar the way that it's going to repay the loan.
If you guys opened it like you already did, like you, any bar, but Tom Tom,
don't people know that it's your, gonna be your bar?
Yeah, I mean, that's true, but still like.
I'm already like, too nervous.
I'm not shooting this.
I'll just be.
It's all right.
Oh my God, you guys.
Yum.
It's a coffee shot.
That was good.
Yum.
I like it.
I hate whiskey.
I'm not like a big whiskey person, but like, oh, this is.
It already like, the smell of it was already giving.
me like I like puke like a puke feel.
I just want to say and it's not because the whiskey isn't good.
It's because like that's like you've seen me take shots and have them like my body stops here stops it here and goes no.
Oh, no.
Guys, that's me when I try to take vodka shots.
Ooh.
Like I can't like whiskey is okay.
No one's realizing.
Everyone at this table has a chaser.
I'm just sitting here.
Do you want some of my water?
Oh my gosh.
Everyone's like sipping off and the whiskey's like burning my throat.
Oh my gosh.
That's what I said.
in college after a shot.
Let it.
No, it's smooth, though.
I like that.
Thank you.
Tom's Redder.
We have a, we also have a port blended bourbon.
And yeah, what's my favorite?
It's like if you kiss somebody who just drank port wine.
It's nice.
Love that.
Wait, did we, did I already, did you say with the status of the actual barb?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
A timeline, please.
It all started when I was, uh, no.
God. It's going well where, you know, we have had to, you know, hire different contractors. We've had, you know, some permitting issues and stuff like that. But overall, it's going really well. Like, we're, you know, slated to open, I would say, March. Wow. Okay. So like, like first half of 2022, there will be. That's very soon. It's already December. Q1, 22. Oh, God.
You should open a bar in St. Louis. That was.
would be my dream.
Oh my God.
His face just.
I want to.
It's just,
that would be awesome.
St.
Louis doesn't have like,
you know,
you go to Chicago,
you're in New York,
like it has its areas.
Yeah.
St. Louis doesn't,
it used to have Washington.
It used to have,
yeah,
you'd have to be like,
Ball Park Village or something.
Exactly.
Yeah.
It's like,
which is kind of seasonal.
And there's just no,
I was looking at,
um,
Central West End.
Yeah.
And I was,
that's Logan's favorite,
yeah?
Uh,
yeah.
He loves that.
Central West End is fun.
But like that, I was looking at partnering with some people there.
Yeah.
Central Weston where we went to Warby Parker and I got those glasses when I had us die.
Yes.
Okay.
Yes.
I like that area too.
No.
It was cute.
It's memorable.
That's the most fun thing you can do there.
The guy that I was going to partner with, he had to close his places there.
Oh, yeah.
So it's just, it's been tough to find a place.
But I will, that is the goal to open up a place.
in St. Louis.
Amazing.
Vegas,
New York.
We're still going.
Oh.
Wow.
Yeah.
That's amazing.
Are you know, what's the status of drink from home?
Well, we are available for pre-order.
Dfh cocktails.com.
And we ship to Canada now, which is very exciting.
Oh, that's exciting.
Yeah.
So they should be shipping very soon.
I'm really excited about it.
And basically, my job now is to walk with my cocktail for watch
and come up with a cocktail for my next box.
That's amazing.
Yeah.
Where did you think of like this specific cocktail?
Like why did you want to do this?
Um,
so we partnered with a company for these amazing syrups because the big thing to me was that
I've seen people do cocktail kits or like influencer box type stuff and you're sent
something that's perishable.
And I was like, but I don't want something that's like sugary bullshit either.
Yeah.
So we partnered.
with this really awesome company, Amaretti, and I just started experimenting with all of their
different syrups and things and just trying cocktail recipes and this cocktail, you zoo only live
once, is my, was my favorite. And I also wanted it to be like something that felt like you'd be
poolside. So when it came out in the winter, it was almost like a little taste of summer. I saw that
it has tahin in it, which is, I'm excited about. I love tachina. T'Hina is everything to me. People are like, can you
make a cocktail that doesn't have tea on the rim?
And I'm like, no, I can't actually.
Why would I?
Why would I not do it if I could just do it?
I'm a recent tihin drinker.
I was moving her bag when we were getting on the plane and like this big thing at
Taheen just like fell out randomly.
You're like, travel with it now?
It was big.
It was big.
It was a whole rimmer.
It had the hat thing on it.
I'm like, it falls out of her.
It's like her.
Taylor and the giant Taheen thing fell out from the first.
You're like, I promise this is like just like a spice.
It's like some people travel with their skincare routine.
Some people travel with the cocktail kit.
Yeah.
I just, I travel with like three guns on me at all time.
Oh my God, he does not.
No one, no he does not.
No guns.
Good Lord.

Okay, I wanted to make sure to ask while you were here,
can you tell the story of how you ended up in the Young Gravy video?
Oh my gosh, yes.
That song was like everywhere earlier this year.
It's on TikTok constantly.
And then the first time I said...
And then his mom.
Okay, Tom, we're talking about me.
The first time I saw the video, I was like, that girl looks a lot like Ariana.
And then I'm like, it's Ariana.
Yeah.
I didn't know about it.
And Dillam was like, did you see this?
And I watched it this morning in the office outlet.
I was like, oh my God.
I was like, she was fucking hot.
He was like, I know so everyone was like, the music's blasting.
Everyone's working.
And I was like, sorry, guys.
Watching.
Research.
Research, R&D.
So, Tom shot a music video a long time ago for a song called I Do Coke.
Love that song.
Feed what.
Kill the noise.
Kill the noise and feed me.
Honestly, it's a great workout song.
Okay.
I love it.
I don't do Coke, but.
I don't do Coke either.
I teach her own.
Love the song.
And you'll love it.
So he shot this music video.
I don't know how you even.
got to do that.
But the guy who...
The DP of TIP was the DIP of that video.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
So TIP, Charles McMansion, TIP led Tom to do this music video.
Right.
And then the guy who directed the music video, Brandon Dermmer, he's amazing.
He directs, like, awesome, like, all of Diplo's stuff.
Like, he's a very talented director.
He did that, what would Diplo do?
Hulu show.
You haven't seen it, check it out.
It's amazing.
She's legit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So Brandon Dermer hits up Tom and says, hey, my friend is shooting this music video for an
artist named Young Gravy.
And I was like, I know who that is because I knew the TikTok sound clip shooting the music video.
Tracy with the eyes.
Tracy with the Honda.
Yeah.
And they were like, we need someone to play like.
Tracy with the ass.
Gravy likes his whole trope is like the older girls.
Like the mom next, like that's his dad.
Oh my God.
That is not you.
Well, I was like, I was like, I neither.
I was worried about being too old.
Okay.
At first, because I was like, how am I love interest?
Yeah, he's like a child.
I was like, I don't understand the concept if I'm the love interest.
And they're like, no, no, no, we want someone that like, like could read a little older.
Okay.
And so I was like, I don't know, but maybe.
And then Tom was like, I started talking to my friends that were, I was like, should I?
And they're like, yes, do it.
I was like two days before it's awesome it just ended up working out it's awesome yeah you look so fire at the house from scream three scream two when she shoot when neff campbell like shoots um leave schreiber or whatever yes is it two or three unclear but i thought it was erika jane's house three i think it's three because that's one where they're like making a movie based on scream yes and then so that's the same house that we
We shot the music video at, but yeah.
That's cool.
It was like a really weird roundabout thing of like a friend of a friend needs somebody to do this thing.
And apparently they wanted at one point they wanted like Stacey Dash to be it.
Oh my God.
And then they and then that fell through and then they wanted like maybe like Jamie Lynn Spears.
No, I don't see that.
Honestly like yikes about those choices.
That's exactly the same.
I'm like, I'm kind of like glad that they did.
And then we're like, we know Arianna Maddox.
They call me to.
do a music video also and it was it was supposed to be like nick carter but he twisted his ankle and so they
called me this is the best it was that core i will i will glad you'd be the z list replacement for any
z-list celebrity dude yeah that's amazing if i honestly like just as a fan or as like any person looking at it
if they would have had either stacy dash or jamey lynn spears that would neither one of those choices would
have worked out well for him no yeah i was like
Oh my God, you're like a legit, um, music video girl.
Like that's, what a dream.
No, that is a dream.
Like, you know, you're like, yes, I did that.
Being in a music video is, I think, a checklist.
Yeah.
It's so fun.
Checklist.
Was she not like a little jealous, do you think?
No, I think she was really excited.
She was probably also like eight months pregnant at the time.
Yeah, exactly.
Tracy was the ass and the baby.
Tracy with the baby bump isn't like quite the same.
Oh my gosh.
But yeah, Young Gravy is like, honestly, like, the nicest.
That's so sweet.
Tom's on shot three, and I'm going to slide mine across.
I don't know.
I don't understand how Tom, you know we like still have other,
that we're going to leave here and go do other things.
Yeah, I know.
Look, I was struggling this morning emotionally.
I want to.
Emotionally.
I was.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
Do you have any, you know, kind of parting thoughts about this season of Vanderpump
Rules?
Obviously, we have probably a few weeks left.
and then the reunion.
How are you feeling?
What's the vibe?
You know, it's,
I think this is always the case,
but I think more so with this season than others
because we have less episodes,
a few less episodes.
Parting thoughts are filming a show
during a pandemic is really freaking hard.
And there were things that we all wanted to do
that we ended up not being able to do
because there was an exposure.
We had to stop down for 10 days, things like that.
And then you lose like a time,
of stuff.
And momentum.
And momentum.
Exactly.
It's like I was going to talk to you about that thing.
And now I'm not now 10 days later.
I'm going to talk to now.
Yeah.
Probably not.
And then also it's just because we have less episodes, I feel like so much stuff is, is,
is just not in there.
Sometimes, sometimes like you're watching and it'll look like a preview or a commercial for
like what actually happened.
You know, I felt.
that way. I felt that way, especially when we were in Palm Springs, because, you know, we filmed
so much and so many things happened. And watching it back, I was like, wow, like, you know,
you watch shows like Love Island and you almost wish that we could have that kind of like time.
You know, there's like 50 episodes. I mean, I don't know if other people want to watch 50 episodes.
No, I know, but like somebody gets up and goes and makes themselves a drink. And that's like the plot of the
entire hour episode of it. I remember feeling like that.
trip, it felt like it was over really quick because obviously, you know, James's proposal was
important, you know, that took up a fair amount of time and planning that. But then the rest of the
group, it felt like kind of very rushed that it's like, okay, so like, sheena and Lala are going to
have their little makeup moment and then maybe we're going to get, you know, a little bit of, you know,
playing pickleball for half an episode. But it didn't feel like there was, you know, you have a big
cast and it takes time to kind of get to everyone. Yeah. And when it feels like it's,
It's so, like the conversation maybe got really deep,
but what's on the show is like almost like a little surface.
I just feel like it would be nice for the whole thing to be out there
just so that everybody can like really see like, I don't know.
It's the stuff that I find interesting when I watch reality shows
is like when people get really into it or like deep into a conversation or a moment.
When somebody, you know, when you don't have that kind of time to,
you know, explore a situation,
people in that situation end up looking very like one-dimensional.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like,
when there's more...
It seems like the cast is like playing into their types or whatever.
Then they don't like that.
And I'm like, no, no, no.
It's that the production and editors feel like our whole selves,
they don't have time to get into all three of your dimensions.
So we're going to stick.
with the one dimension or that character that we decided you were three seasons ago because it's
just easier to like right and it's like have that be you right and it's like okay so then like katie's
going to be annoyed and tom's this is going to be tom's response and that's going to be that's the end of it
and yeah and you know it's and you watch it sometimes you'll be like what happened to that oh that's
right they didn't show when we did that thing yeah we cried together but they didn't show it
that's so crazy why wouldn't they want to show that you just and you're like kitty and i had some very
choose pickleball over.
Beautiful moments together.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We really did.
You were crying together.
Yeah.
And like,
it's kind of shitty that they didn't.
And you're almost like,
hugged it out.
We should see that instead of that.
After James,
like,
after James and Raquel's proposal when we went to Belmont,
there's a point where you see that they're talking and like all of a sudden
Katie and I are not there because we're having this beautiful scene.
Yeah.
And what we're talking to each other in,
you know,
in the side room and just having reconnecting as friends.
and it just they're like,
this doesn't suit our narrative.
Right.
Then it's like for six episodes after that,
we have to have them, you know,
budding heads the whole time.
Right, but then it's like,
but in real life,
you go up and down,
you have your,
you try and then it's like,
oh,
and then we got in a fight.
Yeah,
I feel like they really let,
they let Sheena and Lala
do that this season
where it was like,
okay,
they're making up
and then there's this thing
happening and blah,
blah,
but like,
yeah,
some of the relationships
feel a little more,
you know,
two dimensional than others.
Yeah.
And me and Lala had that too all season.
Right.
Yeah.
It really has an impact on the internet though too.
Because if that happens, of course,
either half the world's gonna be like,
oh, Tom's an asshole,
oh, Katie's, you know, but like,
and that's their opinion from watching the show.
Yeah.
It's been.
It's like everybody can be an asshole sometimes
and everybody can be an angel sometimes.
It's just life.
And this season, you know,
it was very hard to, you know,
go through that because, you know,
Schwartz and I, we've been working on this bar for two years.
And, you know, up until filming, we had been working on it for a year and a half.
And, you know, Katie was not a part of that.
And that was an agreement that we had.
You know, we don't want any, I was like, I don't want any other castmates or significant
others because I don't want that to be leverage in scenes.
I don't want it getting thrown at me if we have a disagreement.
Well, and we also had done that for so many years at Sir, where it was like all of us were
working at Sir and then also on the show.
And we have seen how having personal relationships with people you're working with,
how that can like work out.
Yeah.
With the chaos of Sir,
which obviously is great for a show.
But like when you're really trying to open a business.
Yeah, this is like there's the real stakes.
And like, you know,
my parents are invested in it.
I have tons of money invested in it.
And,
you know,
and then it's like you get a call.
I get a call from Katie,
you know,
right before we start filming.
And she's just like, hey, do you mind if I kind of like, you know, answer phones in the office or like do this thing like right before we started filming?
And I was like, look, like I get what you're saying.
Like, you know, your last two years at Sir, you know, you worked one shift a year at pride.
You know what I mean?
Like, you know, like, and I'm okay with that.
And I'll always help out a friend.
But then it became this thing of like, oh, well, she's now a business partner in this.
And it's like, no.
Like, it's not a thing where you join a law firm.
And then like your spouse is all of a sudden like part of that law firm.
Right.
You know, we're going to take on OJ as a client.
You know what I mean?
It's like we're not going to like stop you at the door,
but also you're not like a partner in the law firm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And it was it was very frustrating, you know, because even when we first started, like I said,
I was like literally I've been so stressed that I'm shitting blood.
Like I got an ulcer and I was literally shitting blood from like from the stress of it all.
and, you know, to have somebody who's like,
well, I got some ideas for the name.
They open up their trapper keeper or whatever the hell.
And you're just like, dude, I don't like, what?
Honestly, if Katie showed up with a trapper keeper,
I'd be like, you're a business partner.
Like a Lisa Frank folder.
Oh my God.
Trapper keeper?
I have a trapper keeper.
Trapper keeper?
I never want to just be like, oh, yeah.
What is that?
I don't know.
A trapper keeper is like, it's your folder.
It's like a binder and it has pockets.
But then when you close it, there's like a Velcro top.
Okay.
I know exactly what it is.
I just didn't know there was a name.
I found my same trapper keeper I had in third grade.
I bought it online.
I'm looking for that.
It had Jurassic Park folders in it.
Oh, great.
But yeah, no, if Katie showed up with an actual trapper keeper, I'd be like, you're hired.
Because that's kind of a baller move.
But yeah, it was hard.
So it was hard to stay patient in those moments.
Right.
Because I'm like, our contractor just quit yesterday.
and I'm like having to deal with this like I don't you know what I mean like I just you don't you run out of patience when you're also as you're running out of patience you can see you're like oh I'm giving them the asshole stuff they're they're gonna here and then you're like I'm already down this road here it's already done like you know you just see yourself I don't know spiraling I guess that's what the reunion's for yeah yeah I mean I got
I gotta be honest.
I mean,
even with all this talk
and like how stressful it was
and obviously things that
didn't make it to air
and all of that,
without all of that,
I mean,
I still feel like I was having
so much fucking fun this summer.
Yeah.
Just being like,
we're out of the house,
get to see my friends,
we're healthy,
like we're all okay.
That part was great.
We're eating individually packaged.
Cheese boards.
And I was like,
this is a blast.
I had somebody with rubber gloves
and make my plate for me.
Yes,
my God.
It's stressful as hell, but it's honestly like the coolest thing like to get to do that.
You know, so it's like, yes, of course, it comes with its stuff.
But it's awesome.
It's very fun.
And then because of that, you get to sit here with us.
Exactly.
And we got to be drinking our whiskey and, you know, doing our cocktail kits.
Say, I love it.
Wait, guys, I'm really excited.
I just found out yesterday that my band is playing here at the Gramercy Theater on March 13th.
Wait, that's so exciting.
Charles McVansche?
Is that a Sunday?
No, his,
I don't know that's a Sunday.
I don't tell you why.
It's crazy.
You're like,
because I don't know what day is this right now.
Because I have an answer.
I literally have an answer.
They announced 90s con this week and I know it's March 11th, 12th and 13th.
11th being Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Oh my God.
So that is my answer.
Wow.
And you know what?
Maybe I will because concerts at the Gramercy Theater are Chef's Kiss.
The Gramercy is fun.
The Gramercy is fun.
Like, good little spot.
very fun.
It's a cover band.
That's what I,
that's what you essentially go there.
That'll be the perfect vibe after 90s con, right?
Yeah.
Totally.
Okay.
It's a nine person cover band.
We might actually have 10 people by that.
If I come.
Yes.
Barry will find a tambourine backstage.
I was going to say.
How are you with a triangle?
No, this is my favorite line of Tom Sandville ever.
So this is me.
Ready?
Surprise.
I brought my trumpet.
Oh my gosh.
Because everybody was asking for it.
Yeah.
This time you brought whiskey and
instead of the trumpet.
I feel like that was more of the vibe today.
Yeah.
But I'm so glad you guys were able to join us here in the studio.
Yes, me too.
Thanks for being here.
I'll come back anytime.
Of course.
Anytime you're in New York.
So, okay,
yeah.
Oh my God,
you guys,
I was in the worst mood before I came here.
I was really hung over in a terrible mood,
but now I feel so much better.
Everyone says that once they are in our presence.
Mm-hmm.
Like turns around so quick.
Can you just go heal the world,
please?
Start with me.
Oh, gosh.
Thank you so much for joining us.
Everyone,
thanks for listening.
Don't forget to check out
the drink from home cocktail kit.
Now available for pre-order.
Yes.
And in Canada.
And in Canada.
And Tom's Goodloven whiskey.
Tom's goodloven.com, yeah.
And watch Fanderpump Rules on Tuesdays on Bravo.
Yeah.
Wait, wait.
And Stricks.
Strix is in North Strom now.
Oh, my gosh.
How many projects.
Oh, my gosh.
So busy.
Oh, my gosh.
And busy.
And until next time, just be cool.
Don't be all like uncool.
