Starting point is 00:00:00 you listening to mess you're listening to mess you're listening to mess you listening to mess you're listening to mess you listening to mess girl hey friend hey girl i'm so excited you know what i'm saying because uh we had a really great year we had a fantastic year season one of the pod gave what i think it needed to give yeah and just in case you know you tuning in super late and you just now finding us. Let's recap. Let's recap the year. Yeah. A year of mess. I mean, we don't get to that, but do you remember what your messiest moments were on the pod? My messiest moments. I mean, I went to Morocco and had a, you know, medium mental breakdown. What did I have? A Schmid life crisis. That's what I had. I had a Schmid life crisis in
Starting point is 00:00:52 morocco midlife crisis yes for my besties birthday can you believe that yeah that was like a year ago remember we went to morocco and i fell off a camel you fell off a camel is that your messiest moment no on the pod yeah what's your messiest moment oh probably when caleb king oh yeah i was on an edible yo 25 25 milligram or maybe or you know what maybe my messiest moment is when we had carolina on and i really just gave her the business it was like is she a guest or my enemy carolina's always a good guest to have on though you guys always like know what to do to get under each other's skin yes absolutely i love that but yeah just in case people are just tuning into the pod i think we should give a beautiful recap of the episodes that really just tickled our coochies
Starting point is 00:01:43 if your coochie tickles that that's mess okay let's get back on track i don't know cream you came here with mess what is it i have a couple of messes okay fatherhood is a mess because you're balancing your life the child's life your girlfriend wife's life your work life your friend life I mean it throws a real wrench can you still have friends as a new
Starting point is 00:02:16 parent um no not really yeah you have to combine things yeah I'm I'm thankfully employed in a position where I can this is French to me this is friends yes we're we're productive but we're friending we are friends but we're we're associates
Starting point is 00:02:32 at the moment we're business associates which is actually messy it's messy because sometimes right when you blend that there is no it's real gray like it's murky so stuff that I would say to my friend hey bitch
Starting point is 00:02:49 your ass is fat like you can't if we business partner friends we can't you can't really I can't touch your elbow like this because HR should get involved but there's no HR in stand up this is the only work where you can say hey bitch
Starting point is 00:03:04 your ass looks fat. And the person, whoever you're talking to, that is the title of the episode. Hey, bitch, your ass looks fat. Featuring Kareem. They say, why thank you. Yours does too. As do yours. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:20 I think that that's good though. Like, I would rather have my work be my life and my life be my work. Yeah. Because it's always fun. Yeah. I think it's a good time at all times. It's like a really lucky thing. You don't agree. You want to be in a cubicle? No, you don't. no well it's the same feeling how i feel from the work from home i got it in the beginning but now
Starting point is 00:03:40 it's like no you gotta go to your work and then your home be your home the blending of the two is just how do i where's my safe space my couch where i used to lay now is in the background of where i'm fucking working and now if i'm having a bad meeting i don't want to go to my couch because i'm like you got that bad meeting energy on this shit the feng shui yeah so it's like go to work go home separate the two i've been wanting to do that ever since i had a kid i don't get get out of the house because now my entire home belongs to the baby yeah yeah there's no there's yeah i gotta get an office or something i gotta get out of your house i got the old ball and chain at home you gotta sponsor somebody no somebody needs to sponsor you to have your own
Starting point is 00:04:24 work i put on instagram the other day i said somebody please give me a free office i got a lot of dms what but they were not good oh and then i was at the coffee shop in my neighborhood the other day and i saw the most unhinged messiest shit i've ever seen in my life it was a flyer that said hi i'm like a freelance creative person looking for any room to rent if you have a spare room in your home i will rent it as my office like this person was looking to move in what's the budget yeah they won't they won't but now that would have been messy if a i give you four hundred dollars if you let me use this as an office would you let someone rent the spare room in your apartment as their office where they come in from nine to five they gotta go to one of those
Starting point is 00:05:14 members only uh places there's so many in the city i imagine that this person wants to be alone they don't want to be in the co-working they don't want to co-work what are you doing that you don't want to co-work i'm talking about the guy in the coffee shop not me it might be cheaper to just get a hotel for the day i don't think so you don't think so actually if you divide your rent by 30 days don't do it i'm gonna do it i'm gonna do it don't do it because you may as well live in the hotel well i had to do it because my because i i moved into my apartment at the end of the month so they had to prorate my rent the next the next month and i was like wait that's how much i'm spending a day they're so cheap those bastards are so cheap they wouldn't let you
Starting point is 00:05:57 move in early but no no it was me i i found the place late and then they were like oh you gotta still pay the whole month that's what i'm saying the next month they were like jk now you pay what you would have to pay next like last month did you do the division yeah how do you feel it's not that bad oh you don't want to tell us you're being coy with your rent honey it's the devil's number actually that's that's not bad at all that's what i said okay it's a lot of sixes yeah i don't want to look i don't want to look at mine okay so um okay so so being a dad is messy being a dad is very messy i think being a mom is messier oh obviously yeah because i was gonna say she's doing most of the work because you're ripping and running trying to make the bake well not the bacon
Starting point is 00:06:45 for you but the bread the bread we make the bread beef bacon which is nasty turkey bacon or turkey bacon i didn't know beef bacon was a thing it's a thing they have it in the they have it in the bodegas they have in the halal shops yes oh is that like slim jim is that honestly it is no it's not it is it is giving thin it's felt a slim jim this is a little slim jimmy i just don't get bacon yeah i get bread yeah so you're making you're making a lot of money for your family yeah i'm a provider but that's why i don't spend the money for myself that's what i'm saying so i'm like do i really need this like i should have the office i should be able to afford the office somebody's gonna comp it yeah you're good i'm not
Starting point is 00:07:30 but don't skip on the things that is most important like i feel like that's the thing about being a dad but also being a man is like i don't think y'all know how to compartmentalize things it's just like it's either like all or nothing it's like well if i have to if i have to work and provide and be a man then like how what other things can i fit in there you can't but you can because you hire an intern or an assistant you want an assistant i don't have an assistant that's madness as much work as you're doing i don't need an assistant who keeps your books who Who keeps your calendar? I have a lot of people.
Starting point is 00:08:07 I keep my own calendar, which is absolutely messy. It's very bad. Yeah. Very, very bad. Depressing. In my mind, your calendar has like post-its sticking out of it. I won't show you my calendar. You're going to be really upset.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Let me see your calendar. It's color-coded. I'll show you today. Oh, let me see today. Today was fucked up. Oh, yeah. Show me your calendar. And I was still on time.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Ooh, dragging. No, I'm not dragging. You know what? This is today. Mess. Wow. why is it not color-coded it's all the same because it's all work yeah but is it i break it down like fun work travel wow okay yep yep oh no cancel something was canceled at five i know
Starting point is 00:08:46 it looks like you got the evening no i canceled because i was like look at this day that's a bad day so i can't i said i'm out i don't want to do this what's a good day it was photo shoots said i don't want to do photos oh you don't want to get your america's next time model i said i'll send you photos you don't want to get your hair like coiled and like that's why i'm not doing it what i'm not doing it now see i would have canceled everything else and went to the photo shoot bitch because what the photo shoot is the day right no i'm doing face masks all day come on i was on the phone from 9 a.m until 1 30 p.m and then i took the train directly here and now i'm on closing deals no i have to close deals i love deals i actually love being on the phone i'm i'm
Starting point is 00:09:25 the equivalent of a cab driver i'm on the phone all the time now are you holding the phone to your ear are you speakerphone out loud speakerphone out loud speakerphone out loud you know he's speakerphone out loud you could just tell because you're very chaotic i'm that's so that's a great compliment so chaotic when i first met you i was like i don't know what you're gonna do but whatever you're gonna do it's gonna happen but it's gonna be like tasmanian devil you know you were one of the first people i ever met in the comedy sphere and you were so supportive and i was like you know what i feel good how did you guys meet taylor taylor taylor taylor yep yeah and then but then i think we got lunch or dinner yes and i was like i'm just starting out because
Starting point is 00:10:06 i was just starting out how long have you been doing comedy this is i need to know the story now yeah i think it's about six years i'm usually the first people that go to pick your can i pick your brain and i'm always the sure bitch but wait i said i'll buy you did say goodbye good good good like uh manners so there y'all are at chipotle how dare you bitch we're at benihana yeah the other place that makes you if i don't get the garlic butter i'm not saying nothing sydney said she can't mentor you or the youth without the garlic i need it it was it was a very a positive and inspiring conversation, I was like, alright, I think I can do this.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Because I had a whole other life. I was 33 transitioning into comedy, which... That's mess. No, the worst thing. Why is it mess? If I met a dude and he was like, I'm 33 and I'm just messed up, I'd be like, yuck. Exactly. Hold on, but Kareem is
Starting point is 00:11:00 divorced. Divorced? I wasn't going to say divorced, I was going to say hot. Are you divorced? Yes. She left you? but maureen will not answer hot so you know where that goes girl i'm trying to get to the bottom of this okay can we pick that up later though i do want to i do want to confirm he wants the sandwich he wants the i want to confirm hot actually before we move on i'd like to confirm confirm what that
Starting point is 00:11:28 you're with sydney on this oh that you're cute hot she said she's not giving it to you babe specifically i'm gonna take it up kareem you're hot yeah that's so nice of you yeah i never thought that in my life behind the keys said you hot i said you hot marie said cute okay great so you still winning no it's great i've never felt like this is my we usually don't say this to straight men that come to the pot we rarely have straight men on the pot and i know how quiet as his captain his bitch. It's pretty loud, actually. Rosebud, you are really good. You've been putting up
Starting point is 00:12:03 your clips. You put up things about, you know, your daughter, your husband, your dog. You're ashamed of all of it. Are you ashamed of all of it? And that's why we fuck with you. There's not a single time that I post something that I don't go, this is god-awful embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Really? Yeah, every single time. Not a single time. Not a single time where I go like yes fuck yes even the clips that people love that do well right yeah especially those i feel like especially the ones that take off make me go like wasn't there a show where your your nanny used like a nanny somebody who used to nanny or your teacher was in the audience yes yes that went viral that went viral like like it went crazy it was like someone that used to babysit me was in the audience at my show not knowing that she was coming to see me not this lady out past the bedtime putting the pieces together in her head
Starting point is 00:12:57 while I'm on stage because you know I talk about people in my life I talk I name names so you know did she nanny you when you were a baby or like yeah so she saw your baby asshole but she didn't know your face she didn't know my face she didn't know your face the baby face doesn't stay your adult face yeah neither does the asshole if i'm being completely honest i have a very a young a young booty hole okay well no i'm gonna say mine with the hair okay so let's be honest we don't know with the with the butt hairs i'm gonna say mine has been consistent in months mine's has been tired since day one yeah I don't want to do it no more
Starting point is 00:13:44 That's a lie Stop eating cheese and dairy You got an adult butthole now It was an adult when I was a baby It was getting constantly used One of the first things the doctor said One of the first things the doctor said When Sidney came out
Starting point is 00:13:59 Is that is an adult asshole They said it's a That's a grown man It's a grown woman I've never seen an older pussy On a baby I never said about that now Y'all gone too far
Starting point is 00:14:15 Y'all gone too far Take it back I'm sorry Take it Take it You let a white woman Take it in I'm sorry
Starting point is 00:14:22 I'm sorry Take it in Rosebud babies Don't have pussies They have tutus Tutus Can I tell you I just
Starting point is 00:14:29 The reason why that came up Was because I was reading A headline yesterday That people are getting Labia puff surgery Yeah make it make sense What's labia puff This is what
Starting point is 00:14:37 This is such a To make it puffy No no no I mean, first of all, this is a New York Post article. I should have led with that. Okay. But it's it because they called it labia puff surgery to make their vaginas appear more youthful, which is to me a red flag.
Starting point is 00:14:52 If your boyfriend's like, I could use a younger looking pussy. Like, I'm like, why do you need a minor pussy? You know what I mean? But a labia puff, I need to Google this. Yeah. This is strange because it's like, first of all, I mean, I hate saying this. But when I was younger, I wasn't really looking at it like that. Like it was, it was there, you know, I know it was getting used or whatever, but like,
Starting point is 00:15:17 you know, I was getting used, getting used. Jesus Christ. It was a work, it was a work. I'm the one going too far. It was a work in whole. That's what I mean. It was there. I know it didn't step out and like run some errands.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Like I know it was always there. Yeah. But now that I'm getting older, I'm like, I'm checking to make sure it's, you know, yeah i'm not seeing a difference really in your poussoir i'm not looking at yeah i'm not clocking as a mother yeah really i mean i had a c-section oh you know clap so i guess it does you have a c-section i did have a c-section uh so it didn't come out it didn't come out but it does look like my pussy's like smiling like a little bit at you like it's sort of giving like a it's like this like a smirk okay whenever she says that my torso is winking at you when i take
Starting point is 00:16:06 can we get a sound effect when she says pussy because i don't like it i don't like the way you say it it just sounds you gotta say yeah why it just sounds like i sound like a man yes but no no no like no not not yes yes it sounds aggressive it's doesn't yeah it's not like it's not like you're saying it like in a cute way i don't want to say it in a cute way oh why because it does serious things okay mother okay it's discharge yeah it's no that's meant it's a serious thing we have this thing discharge discharge i don't like that why oh why because no i'll call it hr right now Every time you're on here
Starting point is 00:16:59 Something goes awry You just pulled her glasses off You said you don't like the word discharge You said you don't like discharge You said you're afraid of discharge It's called secretion Sorry I didn't use the lesbian term for it Secretion sounds like a lesbian bar
Starting point is 00:17:18 Where y'all going tonight? We're going to do it Ladies get in before 11 at secretion Yeah, but discharges for the gays. No. Okay, we're going to be across the street at discharge. Hey, hey, I need a... Can we get...
Starting point is 00:17:33 We'll settle down. Girl, you don't want to go to secretions today? I got a new bodysuit I want to wear to secretions. I don't. Secretions. We were talking about the other S word. Oh, my God. The ice cubes come in little tear forms.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Little tear formations. Secretions. Girl, you are going to jail. You are going to jail. Okay, so we were talking about... I should go to jail. Look at my nails. No.
Starting point is 00:17:57 Well, let's talk about crying in public. Oh, okay. Because first of all, we have all done it... Secretions in public. Secretions. I secretions in public. Because we've all done it at least once. And I think you have to think about,
Starting point is 00:18:11 you are at your bottom when you're crying on a subway or on the street or when you can't hold it in. But see, this makes me go back to my original thing. Okay. Because I go, you're actually at your bottom if you're crying in public on live. That's what I mean Well
Starting point is 00:18:26 I saw a TikTok of a nurse In the hospital And she The top of the video just said We lost another patient today And it's her crying in the hallway And then this guy made a A spoof of it
Starting point is 00:18:44 And he comes into the room He sets up the camera He makes sure it's on And then he's like That's what I don't like The people who set up their camera their animal is dying or has died and they're holding their holding their animal they're fixing the angle they're getting it at every angle yeah it's sick yeah that you should have shame on it
Starting point is 00:19:06 yeah yeah filming your animal getting euthanized that another thing there is nothing darker nothing i mean you could be you could be putting an animal down setting up a camera to put an animal down is another level of, like, dystopian darkness. You're going to jail. Yes, I am calling the cops on you. You're going to jail for going live. That's the title of the episode. You're going to jail.
Starting point is 00:19:33 The title of the episode is secretions. We're going to secretions tonight. Secretions. That killed me. Free before 11. Let's open a bar for sober people that are gay. Secretions. I want to be a business partner if this whole thing ends with Sydney crying while we're doing
Starting point is 00:20:00 a podcast but that's the thing Sydney does cry in public yeah but Sydney the way that Sydney you stop but the way but the way that Sydney cries it's like a switch will flip on it off like i'm sure you've seen her cry many times and then she's laughing and you're like wait was she crying yeah yeah because i'm with y'all bitches and y'all sham well the tears y'all don't you're like are you crying right now i'm like sydney this is a star this no it really is you cry you cry oh no no keep going no that's i pick my phone up to call my car sydney cries like most people sneeze yes it is in threes yeah i'm sorry that i have blood running through my veins and liquids in my body okay this isn't gone with the wind
Starting point is 00:20:52 i'm sorry settle down i'm sorry that i'm a human being so you you bitches are the most stone cold like i i think you i've only seen you cry on mushrooms and you i mean oh rosemary when's the last time you cried have you seen it i mean did you cry when you gave birth no no did you see her photo yo can we post which photo the photo of you you the picture that you sent me yeah after you gave birth was insane you looked so good so bright it was like you you had like a facial before your bangs was sitting you did a you did a mask a sheet mask i could do a full face of makeup that's a mess why are we getting done up you just you're giving birth because i felt like a toad you're giving birth that's when you should look like a toad yeah i know but i wanted i i chose
Starting point is 00:21:52 a c-section because i read on somebody on reddit said it was the easy way out not reddit reddit is where i get my news that is my doctor yeah also matt y'all have to get off of reddit sydney you'll be on reddit yeah turn me on to reddit sydney is you did i was in a dark place but you were not supposed to listen to me you were well i was in a dark place yeah that's true that's when i was in la i stayed on you were in la and i was pregnant and we were both in a very dark place and marie He was just like, oh, okay. You feel real good. Body asshole.
Starting point is 00:22:25 You are. Yes. I want to know, in y'all's long story, beautiful friendship, what is the biggest mess that you two have had between the two of you? Got your ass. I'm thinking. Got your ass. But also, me and Sidney don't really have mess.
Starting point is 00:22:41 Don't lie to me. See, this is what I'm talking about. You're going to tell me in your whole friendship. We don't really have mess. Me and Sidney don't really have mess. That's not what Sidney's eyes are telling me, Sidney. Okay. The only mess that we had was when we went on your birthday trip for Marrakesh.
Starting point is 00:22:57 That was the only mess. What happened? A friend of ours had planned a lot of the stuff. Because I'm not a planner. Yeah. It's my birthday trip, but I don't want to plan anything. And it was no breaks. It was no breaks.
Starting point is 00:23:11 And you know I'm a nap. I need a nap. I'm a sleepy ass hoe. And so, you know, I didn't travel, you know, 18 hours to go somewhere and then be like, B-5-0-fum, and we're running here, rip, zip, zap. But it was also her birthday, so I was like, Marie wants to run around as well. Girl, what was...
Starting point is 00:23:26 The itinerary was stacked. It was stacked. Taylor, if someone sends you a Google Doc for a trip, actually, I should say I gotta cancel. Yeah, but you know what? The real mess is here. Sid had
Starting point is 00:23:43 the itinerary weeks before the trip, never checked it, And then we get on the trip That being said I also didn't really check it We get there And it was like Oh this is a park
Starting point is 00:23:55 This is a This is a Where were we Garden Museum She wanted to see all these gardens And it was like Tour guide
Starting point is 00:24:01 Sounds delightful I'm waiting to hear the bad part It was National Geographic ass tour No it was fine But it was like We've been friends for We've never had an Ontario We go with the flow
Starting point is 00:24:09 We vibes only We go somewhere We touch in We touch down We know somebody We post Hey we here We get 20
Starting point is 00:24:16 Text me Hey come here We get in free We ain't worried about nothing I'm not hearing any mess Yeah So what I'm trying to say to you Is we haven't really
Starting point is 00:24:23 Oh no there was a mess We was in the desert baby We drove 10 11 hours To the desert And I said Oh this might end everything Well who goes to Morocco
Starting point is 00:24:30 And doesn't go to the Sahara desert I didn't know that So what happened I didn't know that we was driving In a little It was in the artillery In a little ass It was page 7
Starting point is 00:24:41 Of the Google Doc You need to tap in So where's the mess Y'all got in a fight The two of you um i cried i'm sorry okay because of because of something between the two of you because but she didn't make the itinerary so why is it messed with y'all also i didn't know that i was like marie you were playing something like this like girl you know i didn't plan nothing i was
Starting point is 00:25:01 like all right cool cool but we was we was in tents and it was the tents where like it was all three of us and there's a little veil you could hear you could smell somebody pooping peeing Showering I could see your uterus It was a lot But that's how it made us closer To answer your question There hasn't really been no mess between us
Starting point is 00:25:24 Y'all just put on a masterclass in lying Y'all put on a masterclass Diversion in lying Sydney's telling you a story about a girls trip Where somebody cried That's what girls trips are I don't go on First of all
Starting point is 00:25:39 We went on a 10 day girls trip That's too many days. I said nobody likes girls that much, including lesbians. I don't do trips with girls anymore. I'm off it. I love women. All love to women.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Yes. But trips with women, you have to be built, even as a gay man, you have to be built. I can't find my... Marie, you giving up with the purse is a lie. The purse is the element of it all.
Starting point is 00:26:02 The last 10 minutes of Marie, first of all, baked out of her mind. Let me just take everything out of the bag. Just clawing through the purse. Apple headphones. Just going, just going. Yeah, Marrakesh was crazy.
Starting point is 00:26:12 Face masks. This is nuts. This is nuts. What, a lady just gave a eye, under eye thing? Can I have one? For anyone that's just listening and not watching, I'm coming to you live from the recording. 25 milligrams. To tell you.
Starting point is 00:26:25 That's what she on, baby. They brought me to Times Square. These girls brought me to Times Square to go through their purse and ignore me. No, I would never, Caleb. I've been locked in with you since. They put me in the Christopher Columbus tier of whites. and then they started going through their bags
Starting point is 00:26:41 and now they're sharing products and tips I've been mistreated but I love that you asked this question because when people ask about me and Maria I'm like yo the reason why we have not made it to the top is because we put our friendship first I'd rather have
Starting point is 00:26:57 no money you know podcast just doing okay than like us you know have a million dollar deal and then hate each other and this will be our last episode yeah yeah all right let me head out here we go here we go everything i took out the purse but you know you know some people who link up and start doing you know work together and like collaborating and then be duos whatever and they literally hate each other yeah just together
Starting point is 00:27:24 because they're making money and i said i rather not make money and be with my the universe is listening yeah i'd rather have true friendship than the bag i wouldn't buy a friend i wouldn't by the way i'd like to buy a friend by the way yeah not me i'm different but god bless i love that god bless i would sell either one of you out for for a hundred two hundred dollars and that's why you win the columbus tier of what oh my god it all no i'm kidding i'm kidding it all comes back y'all know i'm kidding wait so amber what is your mess when did you come to talk to us about i have so much mess you have so and we are i have so much lay it down so the messiest thing i can
Starting point is 00:28:31 think of right now is that i have a friend that is definitely currently in a church cult a church cult like a vacation bible school no no no no like maybe it started there and went left no no no now don't you do that to vacation bible school vacation bible school was lit it was lit and it's not cult at all oh for me it's not like a member of the vacation she said it first of all with her long jean skirt first of all it was fun okay oh we were not wearing jean y'all weren't wearing the denim directly on vacation bible school oh i remember the jean skirt the maxi jean skirt we were not wearing that vacation bible school oh i thought i was it with the patchwork mine was tight though oh see mine wasn't tight mine was giving bail oh mine was tight and i was like
Starting point is 00:29:18 my mom won't let me wear a tight one she was like get this one it's cute i was like this is too big All my stuff was oversized. A lot of my stuff was hand-me-downs from my cousins and whatnot, so nothing was fitting me right. Even my shoes. Okay, so your friend, you think she's in a cult.
Starting point is 00:29:33 You think or do you know? I don't think I know. You know for a fact. I know. As a matter of fact, I don't think she, I know she's in a cult because she don't know she's in a cult
Starting point is 00:29:39 and that's how you know somebody's in a cult. Yeah. How do you know? Okay, so first of all, she started going to this new church and we was like, okay, she's always been in a church.
Starting point is 00:29:46 Well, not always. She reformed herself. Shout out to you, girl. i don't know what name you're using now but she's on the run she's on the run so enough so enough okay we're gonna call her j-lo yeah we're gonna call her j-lo so j-lo was always in the church reformed her life she started no this is we can't use j-lo because okay so jennifer my girl mimi i'm gonna call her mimi who i like mimi my girl mimi she joined this she joined the church and then she changed churches and we're like okay like cool whatever so then she was like oh i love
Starting point is 00:30:18 this church so then it started to be like the hour she was at church so I'm like wait Monday Tuesday Wednesday I thought it was Wednesday and Sunday I can I can do Wednesday and Sunday but I was like okay it's Thursday you at the sanctuary eight o'clock it's Friday why are you at the church so then it was like okay now I'm seeing you with the people who run the church on your Instagram you're not posting anything else but being at the church and then it was oh I haven't been around because i they bought me an apartment in dubai whoa bought an apartment in dubai now how many times now where's like a dump on your chest for the lord hold on where is this church would love to sign up the church is in maryland if you want to sign up they are taking your call
Starting point is 00:31:03 members homes in dubai that's crazy in maryland i need to know i need to know what is going now that's the information i got that she had an apartment in dubai that's why she hadn't been around but did she go do you know she was in Dubai she was I mean she had videos in Dubai one day she's at the church and then we saw her in Dubai covered up I said what okay you're living so at first we were like okay they're taking you to Dubai what they doing there she was like oh they're recruiting me I was like but wait what kind of um denomination is this it's not Muslim no so what they doing in Dubai I think hey I don't know what would be the Mecca for christianity jerusalem oh i was good i don't know why i was gonna say maybe new york city or
Starting point is 00:31:44 la i don't know i don't know where jesus landed at the end i want to say jerusalem you clearly you had that jean skirt on in bbs and you were not listening they had me in the play and everything with the shovel did you say new york was the mecca that's where i felt the spirit the most not me having lived in mississippi before yes that's where i mean that's kind of they love the lord down there but dubai dubai are you sure it's it was but that's what i think so listen so then she was like oh you know they're they're wonderful bubba so then it started to be she slowly stopped talking to people but no they would come back and she wouldn't see her family no more so she's coming back so we're like okay you're not in dubai you're gonna go see your mom and she
Starting point is 00:32:33 would say no she was just like oh i'm so busy i'm so busy i'm so busy so then we noticed that like she's now at these people's house all the time not at the church she's at their house in their home and i'm like this is weird so then she's calling the the wife of the pastor her spiritual mother then it became she's like my mom my second mom my second mom i was like how old is this woman she was like oh she's three years older than this girl three years they're part in three years also the suits the man is wearing are horrible they are what does the pastor look like is it steve harvey is it steve harvey so no he's not giving steve harvey he is giving so first of all i don't know where he's from he's giving dreads red suit hold on hold on hold on wait in church
Starting point is 00:33:15 now i thought i thought this pastor was white no it's a black man well when we heard red suit we knew it wasn't a white with a black with a black wife a black wife who said that she is a prophet because they slept together and now she can see what God has for them. I'm scared because can you even be a prophet and have sex?
Starting point is 00:33:38 What? Apparently they can. They have two kids, a house, apparently. Were they married? They're married now. The spiritual mother. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Okay. Can you be a prophet and have sex as well? That's a good question. No. Why can't you have sex if you could see things? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Can you? You could see that if you could see so much why you need to have sex. because i know it's gonna be good once you have sex you can't see no more you saying the prophecies get a little different no this is not just my story okay i know people have this journey okay yeah yeah yeah what is it it's called digmatized yes can i show the guy can i show y'all the guy yeah you just googled
Starting point is 00:34:26 red suit sorry please oh why they look like uh love and hip-hop when i say it looks like love and hip-hop up in that church here's my girl so it's a mega church they have like an s mega church how many people mega church i would say 500 600 that's not a mega church i'll tell the mega church if they're going to dubai if the church has an escalator inside okay there we go i'm about to She deleted their photos. Let me see. I went to a church like that. This is the spiritual mother.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Now, also, the tea with this woman is that every video I see her in, looking at my friend, she looks disgusted at my friend. She has so many followers. Yes. Megachurch. Oh, no, but she did pay for it. You're right. She paid for it.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Yeah. A megachurch is a 2,000. That's what I said. I said there's no way. Maybe they got a few members in Dubai. No, I went to Hillsong. Hillsong was a megachurch. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:35:23 Thousands of people were there. At one time? Yes. Oh, God. They were in theaters. They had to be in theaters. But a megachurch, if there's an escalator in it and a balcony, a mezzanine. There is an escalator and a balcony.
Starting point is 00:35:36 And they're selling couches. What? Wait. Now it's Bob's? It's Bob's? CB2 for the Lord. It's CB2 for the Lord. Shout out to Bob's Furniture.
Starting point is 00:35:46 So when they do a blessing on a chair, they will then try to sell it to the congregation and say, God has moved me and told me that somebody needs to buy this for $10,000. $10,000? It's drugs. It has to be. It's giving. Close the doors.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Close the doors. Close the doors. This is wild that you brought this up because I watched the documentary on that pastor, Jim Jones, who had all those people go to Guyana. Was he a pastor? He was, yes, he was a pastor.
Starting point is 00:36:13 And is that the Kool-Aid man? Yes, that's the Kool-Aid man. And he went there and it was over 900 and something people who uh died from suicide or murder but while watching the documentary this is my mess is that every time i watch a documentary i try to find the funny in it and i gotta stop because it's that it's sad but what happened was when it was the the day of you know everybody's supposed to commit suicide right um every everybody does die but there was an older lady who stayed in her cot
Starting point is 00:36:43 she fell asleep she missed it oh so she came out and everybody is dead was dead and i said that's me that would be you that's me i stay oh maybe she's the prophet that's oh i would love i would love to oversleep a mass murder or suicide and she said no i don't think they thought they were gonna die did they no they did they knew i think they knew he said we going to going together he let them know he gave them the itinerary where did they think they were going i guess to heaven yeah yeah yeah they put it and it wasn't even kool-aid it was called flavor aid so it wasn't and so it was if i was kool-aid i would i would sue for defamation because now when they all dead i mean they drink the kool-aid don't drink the kool-aid yeah but it was flavor aid flavor aid
Starting point is 00:37:32 so he really he had the discount yes the kirkland yet the kirkland kool-aid the kroger's kool-aid He had to buy a bunch. So that's probably why he had to get the discount. He said, it's 900 people drinking. He said, okay, get the discount. He didn't have a Costco card. I can't follow no leader that don't have no Costco card. Because what?
Starting point is 00:37:54 Because if they not let you into Costco. It's so messed up. But yeah, there was people who did survive out of that. And out of all the people who did, I resonated so much with this older lady. And she came out and she was like, what was going on? I was like that's me she didn't know what time it was and it was like
Starting point is 00:38:12 where are we at everybody gone yeah but if she knew that there was all the suicide was scheduled I'm sure there was a cup you know she was probably like
Starting point is 00:38:21 oh okay y'all just wake me up yeah but I'm saying I'm sure she could have been like let me just get let me get a little bit let me just get mine but maybe suicide in a group
Starting point is 00:38:30 when you're doing it by yourself is not as fun right group suicide you can't if you're listening to this I hope it's not triggering so first of all
Starting point is 00:38:36 this might be a little bit triggering But if you want to do it, do it with 900 others. Hurry. I love that you're in a red suit. No, there was no red suits. What I'm saying, cool and red. Oh, yeah, he had the glasses. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:51 But the guy was obviously- But he wasn't even athletic. So does he need to be athletic to be a co-leader? So what I'm saying, okay, so what I'm saying is, if you are a prophet, right, and you want me to get you to follow you somewhere, or you telling me we're going to do this all together, you can't even run a mile. you can't be physically inferior and telling me that i can go follow you you see what i'm saying to follow you and that's why i think harriet tubman had to be the baddest she had to be the to get all them people to go follow her underground railroad especially the men oh she was toting the wagon i mean now i'm going too far with it but i know she was so you think
Starting point is 00:39:27 people went trying i agree i like a well they won't they they're like okay if i follow her maybe she'll give me some of that i feel like for sure harriet tubman must have had a fatty like he had a big butt she original BBL body Harriet Tubman is it a Sarah Bartman no not that
Starting point is 00:39:43 not that okay Harriet Tubman had the small waist yes exactly cause then she had the dress that was
Starting point is 00:39:48 right running down the back and they could see okay right the biggest the baddest I can see that
Starting point is 00:39:53 I can see that I think it's easier to get people to follow you if you got a big booty if you got a big booty I got a small butt and I think that's why that's why nobody's
Starting point is 00:39:59 following me you may follow me online cause you're on my butt yes that's what it is And then they'd be like, you're so smaller in real life. And they were talking about your ass. For sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Wow. Well, because people think that I'm taller than I am. You feel tall online. And yet. You feel tall online. Yeah. I feel like, but you have tall proportions, too. Like, you have long legs and long arms.
Starting point is 00:40:23 Oh, okay. Yeah, the arms. Yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure, yeah. Like, if somebody took a picture of your legs and was like, how tall is this person? I would probably be like 5'7", 5'8". Yeah, my torso is quite short. That's good.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Come on. Wow, look at that. Come on, Patsy. start a call all you need is a room really i guess no you need more than a lady you actually maybe he has a lot of energy i don't know no you what it is is you have to have people who have nothing to look forward to and it's true when when i was my saddest and lowest that's when i went to hillsong i was going through a relapse with alcohol that's what i will say hillsong pulls you in a different way the pastors got on all saints sleeveless vests they tatted you like
Starting point is 00:41:10 church is lit but in order for me to even step into that building oh you had to be messed up i was at my lowest so this is a quote said by my friend i'm so sorry if you watch this also you need to hear this my one friend did say she was like well if any of us got in a cult it would have been her i said is she is there she have like sheep mentality so not sheep mentality but i feel like she has had the roughest time and had to do the most as far as like emotionally like with her you know she raised her sister all these things so i feel like when she met somebody that was like take a break come in here she was like great somebody else can be in charge wonderful and then it was a cult but now when's the last time you saw her probably two or three years we
Starting point is 00:41:57 haven't seen her nobody's seen her in years that's what happens when you're in a cult they they isolate the crazy thing is she was starting to be isolated we would see her posting she doesn't post anymore and now she goes by sarah sarah now that's that's her that's her cult name that's her cult name she goes by sarah sorry girl i'm so sorry girl i have to say your name her name is Oh, we're bleeping that out. We're bleeping that out, Amber. We're not keeping that. You are a mess.
Starting point is 00:42:27 Usually people don't say the names, girl. I would have said her last name too. I know you would have. I would have said her last name too if I could have. Because my thing is, girl, stop. Like literally stop. She can't. She's in a cult.
Starting point is 00:42:39 So how do we get somebody out of a cult? But that's okay. So we tried to go in with a sleeper cell. And we was like, you go to the church and see. but she said I had to leave. They was too inviting. She said it was, I could see why somebody would get stuck.
Starting point is 00:42:51 So our slipper sale had to leave. Yeah. She said, I gotta go. I can't keep going to this. What was it? Where do you gotta go? Were they cooking oxtails?
Starting point is 00:42:58 Like I think they'd be cooking and they got a big old house. They'd be cooking oxtails and stuff. Cause if you put a good plate in front of me, you got a nice couch, but $10,000 couch that you're going to buy. It wasn't a love sack either. I'm not buying a couch. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:12 I don't have, I don't have the Lord. Yeah. No, I don't have this. They'd be having parties at their house. What kind of parties? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:19 It looked like a cult party. To me, I feel like he is making a gang of women to follow him. So it's a lot of women. It's a lot of women. Mostly women. Mostly women. And that was the thing about the Jim Jones guy. It was mainly women who were in this cult.
Starting point is 00:43:35 Which is weird because I feel like men, they get caught up in following stuff. So men are in cults too, but they don't know that they're cults. The men cult is like fantasy football. Yes, fantasy football. Oh, Thursday night, Sunday night. But like, they not flying them to Dubai to do this. Boy, that's the problem. I feel like when you're a woman, you can get flown out, all these things.
Starting point is 00:43:55 You can't tell a man, we about to go to Dubai. What are we going to do? Yeah. What are we going to do when we get there? 12, 60 men. What are we going to do? Ooh, this is a good question. You can't take 60 men to Dubai.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Would you go to Dubai? Would you? If your church was like, we going to Dubai. We flying you out. What if they was like, we got you an apartment in Dubai? okay amen amen you gotta be gay for the lord the lord likes him gay no not his lord okay oh okay not that denomination so there's a straight lord okay straight jesus so your your friend is in a cult yes it clear you can't get her out no
Starting point is 00:44:42 i mean it when when someone is in a cult what's what's the best way to call yeah what's the protocol so okay so we had i have my friend in la she the cult girl went to la and my friend still had her location on girl when you didn't i'm so sorry um you have to be cold girl sorry you just have to be you have to so the her best best friend went to la and was like i still have a location i'm gonna pull up on her okay and i was like okay what what's gonna go on she said she pulled up on her and the girl looked shook she was like why are you here like what are you doing and she was like well you haven't answered any of us you won't talk to us and she said she was like okay i'll just call you tomorrow i'll call you tomorrow she never called her she said
Starting point is 00:45:24 what are you doing here she said what are you doing here that's scary i mean maroon last was 2018 oh she's so pretty she's so pretty that's why they got her so you're saying there's no ugly people in the cult no that's well it may be this specific and then when i see the man's comments It's like this lady is always in there like, tell them how you abandoned your other family for your new family. I'm like, this is a mess. Actually, now this is sad mess. But now my question is, oh, you said she calls them the prophets. So she don't call them my pastor.
Starting point is 00:45:54 She doesn't say she calls them both. She calls the lady her spiritual mother and she calls the other one the prophet. And that was years ago. So I don't know what she calls them now. She might call them something else now. Sorry. Sorry if I'm getting it wrong. Creflo Dollar.
Starting point is 00:46:08 Was it Creflo? just went to just went to jail for all of this crazy stuff he was also a pastor in like flashy suits and like they sent him to church and i think he bought a helicopter he had the church he was like hey i need a new private jet um because this one is old and they tithe but that's what happens he'll tell them that he needs to go to a vacation for a week so that he can get more people and they will pay for it the church my pastor was not going on no vacations he was in men's warehouse he was very very humble his car was just all right his home was right next to the church it was chill he was living like the lord yeah yeah but you wouldn't follow him to dubai no no
Starting point is 00:46:53 you wouldn't follow like how are we getting there he wasn't asking nobody to go to dubai either but if you're trying to start a cult they you know people like fleshiness yeah they like nowadays you know they like things that like they're like oh that's pretty you got regular stuff that i got i'm not following you yeah no no no no have cool glasses you don't have it doesn't even have yeah you don't even have the jim jones uh yeah he did have some like you know not i wouldn't say flashy glasses but they were definitely glasses but he had charisma oh okay well he was pretending to you know bite off of the other black pastors he was mirroring the problem is i feel like cults have been around so long haven't we heard this all before right it doesn't matter when i'm telling
Starting point is 00:47:38 you when you down and out when you looking when you looking for a sign get the bible app what you what the bible app it'll send you a verse at eight o'clock a.m i'm not i i'm sorry that's two new age you have to get the actual bible i think you actually said the time i'm not reading the bible through kindle okay you gotta actually open the book where are you reading but if i'm saying now you're not listening to me okay sorry if i was reading the bible it's not going to be on a handheld thing i'm opening you opening the book i'm opening the book you do everything on your phone you can't just read a little word i think they took it makes sense they took it too far when they started putting church on zoom and on the bible on the phone that's where we lost we
Starting point is 00:48:19 lost the way you think we lost the way yeah so we can't zoom in the church no what you have to show up why so sometimes i turn on the tv a little bit and maybe i'll mute if i got something going on joel olstein no i'll be watching the church in harlem there's a church in harlem i watch sometimes i don't know sometimes i just google fun church and then and that is see and you no amber you are black black church put it in tiktok mess fun church for blacks and then it'll come up and then sometimes i'll get a get a little word in and then i just listen to the same two kirk franklin songs and then i call it a sunday same two that's it stomp and melodies from heaven you are in i don't know i don't know if your prayers are being answered oh they're being
Starting point is 00:49:08 answered oh because i was like if slowly actually i'm not sure actually i'm not sure they're being unsure oh wait actually i'm and the worst thing is okay this is my tea with you sarah new name so she stole my cousin's name who was her best friend and i'm like could you have picked any other name but anyway still a sarah sarah is for everybody cool name yeah and that's for the street then you should have picked somebody else that's like okay that's like you joining a call and they ask you what you want your new name to be and you pick marie well ain't there somebody in the bible marie it's mary yeah that's not mary marie that is not the same miss mary mac mac mac all dressed in black black black
Starting point is 00:49:48 that was a baddie too miss mary mack shout out to miss mary mack okay so marie if i was in a cult would you come and get me uh how deep are you in i would i would i think we would all pull up and come get you okay you you two have a community i would say that would come and get y'all i would get my sister to grab you by the back of the neck like you were a cat send your brother in there and he would distract the devil with his doing a roundhouse kick on the bastard not distract the devil roundhouse kick on the devil and then and then city would be like what are you doing here in her long skirt yeah do you think she would be the type to say there's nothing wrong um i think cindy would be like i just i don't know i
Starting point is 00:50:37 feel like cindy would be like i i just i i i'm like it here no i wouldn't first of all i would be like i'm trying to figure my stuff out yeah i'm just trying to figure it out at home no i would be we got caught at the house i would be like young thug on the phone when he was in jail with wham i'm like oh no i'm telling listen i didn't drag everybody in a grand mama okay what what to do with like i'm like nikki minaj that ass in the cold i would have been talking about everybody and everyone that's in the cult if you were in a cold i'm like you could you see they got the nerve with them linked over new balances they tried to give me a new balance and that's when i said this might not be the coat for me i would be on the phone with you marie
Starting point is 00:51:18 can you imagine you fighting for a heel in a cult there you like do you have any heels Why don't we be talking shit? I'd be like, did I get a blackhead? I said, now the meals are cute. The meals are cute. The meals are cute. Three squares. When they asked me to buy a $10,000 couch, I said, I might need to get a friend.
Starting point is 00:51:35 I might need to get a friend in here. Are you taking the apartment in Dubai? I would. If you asked me this eight months ago when I didn't have an apartment, oh, I would have prayed for a cult that's paying for my apartment. Actually, I have a lead on an apartment. It's in a cult, but it is in Dubai. honestly I love it
Starting point is 00:51:53 but this mess yeah Marie didn't you didn't you have some stuff go viral when like Bernie Bernie Sanders
Starting point is 00:52:02 was sitting in the chair oh my god with the gloves yeah I posted something sitting alone in the VIP yeah you were like
Starting point is 00:52:09 with the winter coat zipped off you were like you were like Bernie was like he has something else to do he was going to the post office after this
Starting point is 00:52:16 yeah he was just passing through that was a tweet yeah it was really good but that that photo went viral like we were putting bernie in the boat with uh oh my god oh for um what is it called bird bird bird bird yeah what happened to a bird great great memes i like when things
Starting point is 00:52:37 get meme if i think abbott elementary they do great job of um memeing that i think making fun and like a polite way like cute something that we're like we're all laughing we're all in it I think I could appreciate Twitter for that, but we it's lost the plot. It's lost the plot. Yeah, down. Now people are paying to be verified because they took away all the checks. Oh, that also took it down
Starting point is 00:53:02 a notch when it's like, well, when Elon bought it, it was like, well, I'm a go. I'm a head out. And if you have a blue check, then you can get paid if your stuff goes viral. That's how people monetize Twitter. But they're paying for Twitter. Yeah, yeah. Now
Starting point is 00:53:18 you know. Okay. Yeah. Like if you have to pay for it to get paid that's dumb so people engagement farm no thank you which is what is cool and i you know i think the making the money of this stuff has taken away from the fun because i think when i was having the most fun the money was just happening but now it's like that's the that's got to be on your brain constantly like how how are we gonna get this paper how are we gonna get that bag how are we gonna make this content the content creation of it all and so it's just not i think that's what's driving so many people now and it's and that's what that's what's missing the storytelling it's like what can i do to like blow up when it's like
Starting point is 00:53:57 just just live life yeah then you'll blow up tell us a cute story yeah that's the one thing that i do like about tiktok they have this viral uh moment now this this trend where it's like a muppet and people are saying like the worst times that has ever happened they just keep using slides of the same muppet the video that had me like crying in my eye is not crying in my eye which is like crying in my mouth crying on my nipples um but this boy he goes to the gas station he comes out he goes to the bathroom he's not sitting on the toilet but he you know he got his butt out he's like all of a sudden he feels like this burning sensation in the crack of his butt a bee has stung him in his butt he gets up he comes out he's telling his parents like a bee stung me and
Starting point is 00:54:57 they're all laughing because they're like how is this not a funny moment but then he's like he's feeling ill he's feeling very sick he is allergic to bees oh my god he just did not know that until this moment stung in his ass yeah and so he's in his car with his fortunate so he's his parents is in one car his grandparents are in another car they're like he can't breathe he's literally his throat is closing how does he know a bee stung him in the butt because if my butt starts burning at a gas station, I'm like, oh, I must have...
Starting point is 00:55:30 No, because then you know the bee dies. The bee dies. Oh, yeah. And you see the bee was in the toilet. So then, or he pulls,
Starting point is 00:55:37 or he had to pull the bee out of that. Oh, my God. So then... First of all, what's the bee doing in the bathroom? The bee was taking it,
Starting point is 00:55:43 taking a pee, taking a dump as well. The bee's like, I mean, the bee was like, hold up, I'm in here too. The bee's that occupier.
Starting point is 00:55:52 It's like... You know when you're in the store, you try to reach, hey, I'm in here. the bee is like i'm not decent so then he can't breathe so his parents they're in a car he's like okay we're going to the emergency room and then his uh grandparents are in another car they're driving they're trying to get there as fast so he doesn't literally die from this bee sting they're
Starting point is 00:56:14 on the way to the hospital he gets to the hospital they're like okay uh they rush him they tell the doctors what happened they get a phone call grandparents got in a car accident all the way to the ambulance. So they have to go, they're going to another hospital. They took their grandparent to another hospital. His dad and mom
Starting point is 00:56:34 had to leave him to go to this other hospital. With his bee butt. Yes. That's a gag. They were like, you gotta be seeing, you'll be fine, right?
Starting point is 00:56:43 You're in the hospital. We gotta go to the grandparents. Why didn't they just take the grandparents to the same hospital? I don't know, because they had two different cars. Because I guess they were doing
Starting point is 00:56:50 like a family trip or whatever. Could have been a one-stop shop. Right. Okay, so then they go to the parents. The grandfather survives. whatever and then you know the son he's okay he's fine two weeks later grandfather dies like that is wild wait but the grandfather was fine the grandfather was fine but then i think died i don't know i can't remember if it's from the it was a b it was a b it was a b
Starting point is 00:57:15 it was a b why did you tell this story but it was at every slide i was i was like no no you were in golf i said yes more this tell us the worst time in your life i need it it's beautiful i do love a i do love a good story but i think everybody you need it right yeah give me some twists some turns say something and then if it's it's funny then that's a plug yeah yeah do you have like if you were to do a zola moment on twitter yeah do you have a story that's like each moment you're like what what are we on the edge of our seat no you gotta keep going yeah what's your resitisa yeah what is my resitisa it would probably be like like something from high school you know when high school yeah yeah i went to high school in manhattan oh yeah no i already know did you go
Starting point is 00:58:02 to an alternative high school oh what's that mean that means the kids probably can't really the kids needed special attention because they need they need to be in smaller a smaller school I went to an alternative high school mind your business and watch your mouth so the alternative high schools are the ones where like you would have like a uniform no no uniform but like
Starting point is 00:58:30 I went to school in a physical city and so I went there and you know all the kids that went there were cool they were wearing like air maxes they were wearing name brand jeans baby fat all of that
Starting point is 00:58:45 so and they're cool these are cool these are cool city kids I was not I was not cool you know I was I was wearing the bear
Starting point is 00:58:52 buffer I was not wearing a North Face oh damn oh the Marshalls one yes and I would have bear and then my mom smoked cigarettes so I had a couple holes
Starting point is 00:59:00 in mine and I smelled like cigarettes it was not it was not the look but I went to alternative school I would have been friends with you
Starting point is 00:59:06 you think you think I don't know oh 1000% I had one friend that I was cool with she her name was Jordana
Starting point is 00:59:13 she looked like like a Honduran Aaliyah. So we was cool. Oh, okay. So swooping. Yeah. So we,
Starting point is 00:59:20 and she would dress just like Aaliyah. Queen of the day. Queen of the day. Yes. Queen of the day. Not no more say D say. How do you say it Thomas Matos? Yes.
Starting point is 00:59:30 Come on, say D say. Love is a one in a million. Uh, so I went, they, they ran me up out of there. They ran me up out of there.
Starting point is 00:59:39 I, I ended up like, uh, let a girl that I, was friends with you know somebody she lost her virginity to girl i ended up you're fooling around with and the girls were mad they were mad they were like out there sugarcoating it they wanted to fight me back so i had to leave i had to leave and i went to another alternative high school where they also hated me there oh my god i was like it's me i'm the problem is no you i'm the
Starting point is 01:00:07 problem it's me and i came in and i was wearing like a clueless inspired um outfit and this is in spanish harlem so they were like they didn't care about clues so i thought i was dion but i had neon i had knee-high socks and they were like those look arthur or like orthopedic like it's giving grandma but i came in with the chunky heels and the skirt yeah like matching you were ahead of your time yeah and they did not like me because i was friends with another girl my friend kawana who was like she was it light-skinned girl light eyes dated a guy named otis and they were like how dare you and they hated her and then i came in i was like best friend and like you know how cool you have to be
Starting point is 01:00:44 to date a guy named Otis? Otis, yeah. He was a cutie, too. And for people to be like, that's an it couple. Yes! Otis is an old black man name.
Starting point is 01:00:53 Ain't nobody coming to see you, Otis. Yes! He didn't look like Kiwana. Kiwana was coming to see Otis. Mm-hmm. They were the cutest couple.
Starting point is 01:01:00 Everybody hated them, but they, they, oh, I had, I had a time, they tried to run me out of there, too. They,
Starting point is 01:01:05 somebody threw Skittles at me all day. Like, I was, How big was the bag of Skittles? Family size. They were throwing, and they only threw a certain colors and then at the end of the day,
Starting point is 01:01:16 they threw the rest of the bag, which was just orange and purple, which is supposed to be the worst one. No, orange is good. Orange is fine. I mean, that's what Nikki says. What? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:26 Orange and purple is the worst one. Yeah, and her rider is only green Skittles. I get it. I did not like getting hit with the orange and purples, but I knew I turned around and I was like, who the fuck do the Skittles? And then it was like these two girls two girls that was just like,
Starting point is 01:01:43 what? Oh, damn. They was like, I was like, oh, um. You was giving Penny proud. Yeah, Penny proud. Well, because when you said
Starting point is 01:01:50 the girls were like this, I thought, the grosses. Yeah, the grosses. The gross sisters. And I said, yeah, yeah. Who, who the fuck?
Starting point is 01:02:00 Who the skills? They was waiting outside ready to jump down. Me. Sydney, how many alternative high schools did you go to? I just went to two. After that one,
Starting point is 01:02:09 I was like, well, I just gotta stay. I gotta stay and we got to work it out. But there was a girl named Mushy. She, her name was Mushy
Starting point is 01:02:16 and she was trying to mush me for sure. I already can see what Mushy looked like in my mind. Mushy looked like one of the bad, baddie South girls.
Starting point is 01:02:22 Yeah, she always had like a slick something, like a slick ponytail. Daddy shot a pop. She had the bang that, you know, was curled when
Starting point is 01:02:30 you used the like curler that was like the pink soft one, you know, that kind of roller. It was that tight? Yeah, it was that tight.
Starting point is 01:02:36 That's mushy. That's mushy. And she had the like the Vanson leather and she would she would have the Jabot jeans and she was
Starting point is 01:02:45 yeah she was a bully and I I was like you are not you are not gonna do nothing to me and then I had to stay at school till
Starting point is 01:02:52 8 p.m. cause they were like the blood is outside 8 p.m. bro you couldn't sneak out the back no I said
Starting point is 01:02:59 well you know they don't care about school they not doing their homework so they just waiting outside yeah yeah they doing double duds they playing spades they waiting
Starting point is 01:03:07 those are the kids that bought the one notebook to school with no pen yeah nothing yeah backpack empty that's funny just vibes but you know what sydney you had to go through all of that to become the nice person that you are now because you could be mushy yeah that's too cute to be mushy no i had to i had to really just lean on you know being nice to people because i know that nice gets you a lot further than being mean but do people respect nice i respect nice you respect oh yeah tomas yeah me and they all that sounds i prefer a nice person i was only friends with nice people
Starting point is 01:03:52 growing up well you seem like a a nice person yeah i think i'm nice i feel like you seem nice but I can also see, like, a Regina George in your past. Is it the muscles? No, I swear, that's not. I think that's what people perceive me as before they know me. Yeah. Because that is what I give off. Really?
Starting point is 01:04:13 You give off, like, pretty, cute, like, underhand. I give off, don't talk to me. Really? That's what people have told me. I don't think, not with eyebrows like that. Eyebrows is like, Cummins up to me. I really want it.
Starting point is 01:04:26 It's like, you know, I'm like, hey, party, let's go. But I think I understand what you're saying because people have told me that, like, I give off mean girl. But that's just because I get scared. I get nervous. And that's the front I put up. But I think I'm like, cool, I'm nice. No, you are. You're very nice.
Starting point is 01:04:46 That's the US special. Marie the way she had me outside of the movie I was scared for my life how she had you said Sydney tell me if I'm going crazy right now I was like absolutely no oh she was like because She's like, I need the manager. No, Sidney is so, no, Sidney, this is, this is, Sidney, this is why I text you. I said, yo. No, Batbone, this is why you paid $150 for your raggedy nails. Because you stand for nothing and you fall for everything.
Starting point is 01:05:36 Baby girl, we was at the theater and I said, hey. That was the title of the podcast. I said, Batbone, you can head out. I said, Sid, head out because I'm handling this. She's like, no, I want to be here to support you. I said, let me know if I'm tripping. Well, I just didn't want them to call the cops on you. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:05:51 she's like no amina you're not tripping they was wrong for what they did and i said okay did you say that you need to keep it real right now to head yes amina had the gun on you it was a pandora gun it was a pandora gun yeah no but let me tell you i wasn't gonna trip on them i came i said hey i just need to speak to the manager mind you i had to use the restroom i left my water bottle i said I go back up. I come down. It's three managers.
Starting point is 01:06:18 I said, oh, we doing this today. She had no sleeves, but she was pulling them up. Why y'all had to get three managers? Oh, because I'm a black woman. So then I had to set all them straight. And I said, hey, hey, hey. We see him going back and forth. What usually happens when someone is dissatisfied with their movie experience?
Starting point is 01:06:35 Here go one of the dumb managers. We give them tickets for another movie. I said, well, that's what y'all going to do today. What movie theater? Girl, she didn't have no receipt for tickets. Because she didn't even pay for it. She didn't pay for the tickets. She didn't even pay for it.
Starting point is 01:06:52 Again. Again, you're a repeat offender. Somebody is treating you to something, and you're the one. You're the person at the table. Well, let's speak to the manager. It's like, who card is being put down, miss? It's principle. At the end of the day, I ain't even use them tickets.
Starting point is 01:07:06 Because, babe, let me tell you, they ain't going to never see me at that movie theater again. I ain't going to see. Hey, this podcast is sponsored by AMC right now. so I mean you do go see AMC movies no but this was Regal and they
Starting point is 01:07:18 the devil that's that theater I'm not doing it but I mean I don't want to put that on y'all podcast like that but you did
Starting point is 01:07:23 but I can't do them hey Regal girl I'll take I'll actually take four of those I'll take three tickets AMC got better seats and they're heated
Starting point is 01:07:35 and they have better reward systems and everything so I found my place and I found where I need to go and it's not Regal
Starting point is 01:07:41 and they let you be loud and they let you be loud at amc so i've had not an issue or threats or a problem at the amc theater so they gave you how many tickets they gave me because it was just two of us so they just gave me two and so you what you wanted a third she said gave me two so she was like you want this i was like but i and i gave him i gave him to ethan because he did pay for the tickets so i gave him to ethan i gave the tickets to ethan because i said they won't catch me back there but i just knew justice had to be served because you're not going to be threatening me at a movie theater that's just not how that works that's unprofessional all you had to say is hey this
Starting point is 01:08:16 is warning number one y'all got to keep it down people are being disturbed y'all gonna get kicked out oh okay kick me out kick me out so did you finish the movie or did you get up we finished the movie and then we were in the stress of them threatening me and the stress of aliens eating people heads on my mind and the stress of the lady that told no but we walk out and the people were like oh y'all were hilarious y'all were really funny they look they the people who were watching the movie they thought we were funny some people do enjoy when you know outbursts and and comments when you make like oh the outfit ugly your hair ain't supposed you know some people do enjoy that but other people do want you to shut up which i get but it's like do you get i do i do
Starting point is 01:08:56 you who are very you're a very strong hold on the quiet car on the amtrak because in but you run people you were like hey you're gonna have to go i mean you you follow the rules in the quiet car But can't follow the rules at a quiet place Y'all are missing it Y'all are missing it And that's why you are who you are No y'all are missing it I was experiencing something in real time
Starting point is 01:09:17 It was happening in real time And I had no space to process it That's it It's a movie ain't nothing to process Except the pictures That's what y'all Cause when I'm watching a movie That's not how it is
Starting point is 01:09:28 I was stressed I was stressed for Lupita I was stressed for You know he wasn't I mean you were stressed for the cat I was stressed for the cat You were stressed for the white man with the accent. That movie stressed me.
Starting point is 01:09:40 Let me tell you what, you wasn't processing that ticket. You did not have to pay for it. And you know what? I love that for you. I love that for you. Amina, do you have any rules or maybe advice to people who are giving Google reviews? Honestly, the rules that I would say, I don't even really follow. But since you asked, I feel like I should say something.
Starting point is 01:10:04 Keep it brief. something i don't do sometimes they gotta be like you out of character sis you gotta have how many characters you get for a guru i don't even know but i remember that review for the movie theater oh i ran out oh she let him i should have made another account it was most it was half of our day we had to walk it off we literally had to walk after that and then she went to work and was still talking about it still because it was she told everybody it's traumatizing but it's okay uh try to leave your emotions out of it amina if you guys if you guys can go to the regal uh you know instagram page and put palm trees underneath let them know oh please let
Starting point is 01:10:44 them know but i'm telling you i'm so sick of them i'm so sick of them they'll be like or you put justice for me i encourage people to write them too because they do help me they help me pick hotels. They help me pick venues. They help me choose restaurants, brunch, all of that type of stuff. I feel like I always will read a review and be like, oh, I'll come here because this is giving five stars. I'll read the
Starting point is 01:11:06 reviews before I do anything. Especially hotels, too, because we've had our bout with that, too, but we don't have time for that. Best hotel you've been in. Best? Yeah. And was it on your card? Girl. Girl.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Girl. i will say that some of the best and the worst hotels have not been on my card so we can say that well you be on the road literally full tea but no i've stayed in some nice hotels but no i'm not really paying for that best hotel you've been in marie best hotel i've ever been in i don't know i wasn't prepared for that question yeah she's like you asked me that from another time but i know the worst one i stayed at girl i was in baltimore well there you go i shouldn't even do this to myself y'all literally started with baltimore i walk in and somebody at the desk talking mad because somebody walked into their room while they was in the room that's i just
Starting point is 01:12:02 want to let you know that was me just walking in being greeted i'm into this already you know confrontation but yeah so i won't do that again you really got to read the reviews and lock the double lock the door triple lock oh yeah that is true you do you do gotta do that i wish i cared about review i only started looking at reviews because of y'all because we'll be about to walk into a place and you're like hold on let me well hold on yeah yeah yeah let's check it out yeah so ask somebody who doesn't really read reviews sydney how has that affected your experience when her nail lady oh read the reviews on that nail salon you go to sis i'm sure they're good it's it's a it's a usually good spot i think that that particular person was just over me and i
Starting point is 01:12:44 i honestly i get i came in not knowing what the hell i wanted and it was early in the morning and i was like how long this gonna take so now you're taking the blame that's crazy just to save the the reviews like i mean we need to we're gonna read the reviews for you who don't really i mean you don't want to hold yourself accountable i hold myself accountable i i'll be like that's on me i say that all the time but when it's not on me i'm not i'm not taking it i mean everything that you said today was the socks in the floatation tub she told you hey this one not ready you're like my ancestors drove me to three not knowing what a quiet place was that's also you um you know but i'm glad that at the end of it you always it's always rectified for you yeah
Starting point is 01:13:31 because with them fixing it with something like hey here come back oftentimes i don't i don't even write the reviews to get stuff back oh but oftentimes if i do businesses that care about the reviews and care about their perception and their reputation they will follow up and and make it right because that's what customer service truly is in my opinion that's true whenever whenever somebody's like oh they didn't like this they didn't like that we'll take it off Or like, you know, when I'm like, oh, I just want these people to just like have a good time. You know, I give them a couple of shots. I'll take some off the menu.
Starting point is 01:14:05 I give them some free like just to accommodate. And even if you do that, people still go back on that review and be like, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's like, hey, I gave you hush shots. Those are to hush. Hush shots. Why are you still giving a bad review after I hit you off with $200 worth of shots? even if you don't like a drink you send it back and they like we not taking it off your bill okay i didn't drink it though i feel like that's something that like you should take that off
Starting point is 01:14:32 yeah wow i feel like i also just got yelled at at a quiet place did we did we wear you out i'm sorry do we have messages we do we do have oh yeah my phone is on the charger can i can you open it and i'll read it on yours amina girl i think and i have been saying this that you should release a coffee table book full of all your google reviews because they're so they're all they're so different they're so good have you ever reviewed like a zoo or an aquarium something like that an aquarium for sure you were like the fish look sick girl the water is not clean yeah i was gonna go i was gonna go but them seals was doing what they need to do you know i would i do write reviews about a aquarium i was reading the reviews
Starting point is 01:15:18 Somewhere I went and they were just like, they don't need to have no animals near this place. This was bad. Do not go. We actually need to boycott. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Are y'all ready?
Starting point is 01:15:28 Yes. Beyonce mess? Question mark, question mark, question mark. That's the title. Hey, messies. Long time listener. Meaning, I still rerun the unofficial expert episode. First time messenger.
Starting point is 01:15:40 I have some Beyonce mess for you. Ooh. We some friends and I decided to go see Beyonce in another country because the ticket prices were much cheaper and we figured we'd be down for a little excursion. Right. I, 33 year old man, mostly plan the ticket purchases with one of my best friends, 36 year old male. When buying the tickets, he mentioned he was excited because it was around his birthday. And I took this to mean that he was going to use the concert ticket as a gift to himself. OK. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. That's good. After everyone gets their tickets around six of us, he sends a text saying basically that this is his birthday trip and that he wants us to have dinner for his birthday.
Starting point is 01:16:23 Now, I'm fine with the birthday dinner. I love my friend and I'm happy to celebrate him. But I'm confused because we never spoke about this being a birthday trip. I hadn't said anything to him because he didn't actually ask for anything too crazy. But I'm nervous that when we actually get there, he may try to make the trip about him. Am I tripping or is this mess? And would you say something to your friend before the trip? Additional context that may be useful.
Starting point is 01:16:49 I'm going with my boyfriend. I do think the message was supposed to be cute and fun, but it just came off a bit weird because he didn't just ask to do a birthday dinner. He started referencing the whole trip. Note he sent is attached. Okay. Sincerely, Julius. Okay. b-day and yonce b-day and yonce beach june 4th night flight wednesday june 5th be in london at
Starting point is 01:17:14 some point thursday itinerary nope this person is sick rest i want dinner and everyone to look sexy as fuck before and after i don't care you do you june 6th friday i don't care you do you okay june 6th 7th saturday beyonce day hunty june 8th and 9th saturday and monday i don't care you do you i'll probably fly out on monday i don't want to make this trip all about me or my birthday i just want us all to enjoy ourselves and be free no pressure to do anything you don't want to do i do come before beyonce though i mean i get the opportunity but it doesn't sound like he's made the trip all about him no no no see this is what i want you to know yeah these people which obviously i kind of fall into this it's like oh no no no chill don't no worries like i'm not
Starting point is 01:18:04 pressuring anybody that absolutely means the pressure is on you read between that yeah oh no i i'm i'm holding myself accountable uh-huh and yes when i'm hearing this when they say i don't want to make this about me but i come before beyonce that is somebody big diva big diva pulling it out and they're trying to be demure about it they're going to be hell i come before beyonce that is that is how is he gonna say something though but look it says june 4th night flight june 5th be in london at dinner dinner is on the 5th then friday do what you want and then saturday is beyonce so this person is just asking for the 5th and the 7th how long they been friends that's a good that's a good point i think because he has uh trepidations julie's you gotta say
Starting point is 01:18:55 something yeah because this was not your birthday trip if you wanted a birthday trip then you should have said hey just like for me we're going and it ain't got nothing to do with my birthday but i'm like this is our birthday this is my birthday celebration yeah i made that known from up top so now we all know why we going well to be fair you made it known after you bought the tickets for the for the no no no yes you may have known after you bought the tickets no no no hey i want to go to see beyonce for my birthday then we found out caveat we can't go on the actual day and time because we have other friends with other priorities so then we pivot and now make it a birthday thing but just after the birthday
Starting point is 01:19:37 and just know i do come before me yeah how how this is a coincidence that we get this isn't it crazy we get this message it's insane i can't believe me friends that have traveled so much for each other's birthdays. I mean, we've been to New Orleans. We've been to Morocco, Miami. Mexico. I mean, we've been traveling for many, many years.
Starting point is 01:20:16 So we understand. I think you have to start up top. This is for my birthday. Yeah. We are going to celebrate. Or sometimes we were like, this was already going to be a trip. And then it's like,
Starting point is 01:20:25 hey, we should probably do a dinner for the birthday. But this person is definitely telling them that they are doing something for his birthday. Yeah. Yeah, that's intense. After everybody didn't already pay for the trip.
Starting point is 01:20:36 And Julius, you didn't include it in the email. I don't know if they sent you the money for the ticket or the ticket is your gift to them. That's why I thought the message was going when he said that. He was like, everybody sent their money in. And he's like, thank you for the bite they give. Listen, you guys are going to have a great time. They're going to have a good time. But I feel like going to a concert internationally is already going to be big.
Starting point is 01:21:00 Hectic. Hectic. Yeah. Yeah. And concerts. I mean, Beyonce, the way people were like having to stand for Renaissance. I don't know, honey. I don't know. After they go to Beyonce, they might not. Well, they're doing dinner before the concerts, which is smart because I know sometimes you do a big thing. We wiped out. Yeah. Happening after that. Yeah. But it's dinner two days before Beyonce. He said, whatever y'all do on Friday is your business. Yeah. I say just give him a little cake or something.
Starting point is 01:21:28 yeah a little sachet or something and then just that's it what else what else is there to do and listen you're going with your boyfriend so you're doing your own i already know you're like i'm going my man right y'all do what y'all need to do for the birthday but i'm this is a couple strip for me right with some some also you know some extras but they're gonna be doing their own thing yeah hopefully anyway send us pictures from beyonce we want to know if you want to know if and all those days on the itinerary that say do you please do you please do you if somebody asks something extra say no no that's a do you day babe but also follow up please let us know where you get dinner in london because we've been there and the food is very hit or miss i mean we found
Starting point is 01:22:15 some good places to eat but the food do be it do be missing so gunpowder i love that that place was great okay you love it list it want it need it amina any advice for uh businesses trying to be better at customer service or or people being or people being better customers give us one line for both one thing you know what it's as simple as treat others as you would want to be treated oh wow okay that's Well I mean You kind of gave me A lot in that
Starting point is 01:22:50 So I just I think it is That simple though Like when you're Talking to people And you're dealing With people Would you want
Starting point is 01:22:55 To be treated Like this Boop Boop Boop There it is And there it is You had a lot
Starting point is 01:23:02 To say About New York Last night And you said New York is a mess So I want you To say We want you
Starting point is 01:23:08 To stand on that What you said To us I think this is Just start over What that mean Just start over Like bulldoze
Starting point is 01:23:14 The buildings However y'all want to interpret it, I think they should just start New York over. Just hit the restart button. Why? The versions of people now is not what made New York great the many, many years ago. Yeah, the New York that you see before you, this is like Midwest. It's not really New York. But that's, in my opinion, what New York has always been.
Starting point is 01:23:36 No, New York has always been like a melting pot of people from all over the world. Yes. But the people were cooler. Now it feels like rich people or people whose parents pay for everything who come here and now they're the face of the West Village. And it's like, that's not what that's. But when was it? When was it not that, though? The 90s, the early 2000s.
Starting point is 01:23:56 When was it? So you're telling me back then it wasn't the same type of people coming here and planting their flag. This is what New York is. Harlem was Harlem. Flatbush was Flatbush. There was different areas. The white people in New York City used to stay uptown. Yep.
Starting point is 01:24:12 They never even came down here. They did not. They down here now, and they making things real, you know, unseasoned, real. So, like, anytime I watch, like, games in New York, I'm like, oh, so it was just always the planet's worst descending on this place. Excuse me? This is what it always was. It was just everybody, they gathered their worst niggas, and they said, we're going to put y'all on the boat. We're going to send y'all to this place that doesn't belong to you.
Starting point is 01:24:38 Yeah, called Staten Island. But that is very for sure on that. Yeah, I mean, sure. Jersey. Right, New Jersey. Tomato, tomato. Tomato, potato. You're talking about New York, the greatest city, the Harlem Renaissance.
Starting point is 01:24:50 The 80s and 90s, it was like there was enough of them here where we were like, okay, we could justify calling this like the global center of capital now, right? But it's always been just boatloads and boatloads of the worst niggas globally. You're not the worst. You just ship them here and ship them in there, pile on each other. Cameron Jim Jones Dipset

I'm just saying, who's going to fight NYPD if it's not Jacksonville people? No. New York needs a standing army of Florida niggas. How about we get the Nation of Islam?
Starting point is 01:27:46 The black Israelites. They had their chance. The black Israelites need to fight the cops. I feel like everywhere needs a reset. It's not just new. America needs it. No, not America. The world needs a reset.

I'm like, do I want to really make a stand here with my friend who picked a weird number on the gift card when I know $50 was right there? Literally. I see the $50 for me. Ten steps away. But it's crazy if like you go to, you didn't even figure out how much money was on the card.

Starting point is 01:34:34 30s, I'm just talking about women in general. I think it's 30. I think women hit their sexual peak in their 30s. Y'all turning to ancient sex demons. Yeah. I can't relate. I'm on SSIRs. SSRIs. You knew what I meant.
