oh you're listening to mess okay so we're here yes we're doing the podcast we're here
we're queer we're queer yeah so you're sitting here saying i can see who's checking my stories
i can see who's stalking my what they say that the person who you keep seeing in like at the top
that's people who most engage with you or people who are always like checking your profile
yeah do you see me a lot do you see a mess they really been checking like that you know what i
mean okay because they keep updating instagram they do instagram stop it used to be very easy
to be like oh this person and this person instagram what more do you want from me like
The instance, the nothing in chronological order, like I got to engage with people.
I got to be in the comments.
I got to respond back to people.
I got to be in the DMs.
I got to check my requested.
I got to check my hidden.
I got to check my general and my primary.
I got to be a good friend online.
I got to be a good friend offline.
It's just like it's too much.
I got to be creative and I got to be interesting,
but I got to do what people come to my page to see yes but I also can't be redundant no well
no that's not true that people like uh they do like when you do a repeat thing like when you
have like a series or something like that but if you keep doing the same stuff and people don't
like it and you keep doing it then I think your viewership goes down as well you can unfollow you
it's like you can't win but it's like I I try not to look at who's in my stories too much because
then i overthink it's like then i'll be that person like well my friends don't support me
they don't like my stuff they don't comment it's like it's not for them listen it's not for them
we talked about this the other like a few weeks ago we said we needed a brick literally the next
day i was at an event they was giving out bricks bitch and giving out bricks and so that's why we
need to start talking up more we need to be talking about what we want and what we need
putting in a universe because she's hearing her eyes are her eyes are open her ears are open her
butt is closed her butt is closed she's not a butt girl her eyes open her ears are open her butt is
closed but cold closed butts get fed closed butt don't get fed no they get fed they get fed um
yeah okay so manifesting i would love for somebody to invite me to the finals oh for the next you
You know, it's four or five games or something like that.
Seven games.
However many games it is.
I would like somebody to invite me to the garden.
The garden.
The garden.
We used to have a lot of connects over there.
You know, it's a, you know what?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think we might have to hit up one of our connects, but it's got to be a big dog.
Does anybody know Spike Lee?
I know where his mama lives.
He's probably following you.
No.
Yes.
you're right up his alley no you calling me nola nola darling yeah black black black on black on
black and you're and you're heterosexual so yeah he loves that i've been that yeah sorry he loves
that um he's a bit misogynistic and i think i think you're the antithesis of that but somehow
he can find a way to mix you up in something so you should see if he's following you i don't think
he's following me sis but you know what i okay yeah i'll post more nicks content yeah so that
i can get on spike lee's radar girl he's actually he's probably only following like five people in
the nicks is one of them yeah yeah it's the start five yeah isn't it crazy that like i i'm i've
never been a sports person but i'm realizing that i have to expand my horizon like why am i just
limiting myself to just music and acting and comedy i gotta get in the sports i'm going i'm
going to a liberty game this weekend so i'm excited oh my god i'm going to a liberty game
on friday me too who you going with i have some brand no way yeah what brand i don't know
wait hold on let me come in the whatchamacallit with you in the suite you won't be at the game
with sis with britney oh you're gonna leave her for the suite i mean that's great i'll i'll stop
I'll stop by and say hi.
Oh, okay.
I'll stop by.
I won't, like, take too much of the time.
But damn, bitch.
That's going to be good.
I'm going to find the info and I'll let you know.
Yes, please.
Please.
Find out.
Because they said, what you doing on Friday?
I said, Friday's wide open.
I've been forgetting to put in for spots.
I've been, I don't know.
Girl, summer is about to be here.
Like, I just want to, like, enjoy my summer.
It's all about doing the experiences.
You know what I mean?
You have to do the events.
You have to do the things to have something to talk about.
Because right now, right now, I'm not even going to lie to you.
The way that I be posted up in my bed, the bed just never lets me down.
The way I wrap up in my sheets like a fucking burrito, it's sickening.
And I'm like, I need to do more things.
I need to just, I need to have this small talk.
So when you say do more things, what's that mean?
Like hobbies?
No, no, no.
Just go out.
just just just randomly go out meet people not be afraid to extend myself the small talk
you never know who you're gonna meet in these random you know side quests yeah or or you know
skip to my loo down the block to your neighborhood bar i am an advocate for this because like when i
travel solo i do it and it's like you know i do it just to do it because i need to eat and i need
I want to shop and I don't want to get kidnapped.
So I'm like smiling,
but not smiling too hard.
Cause I don't want the people to have whatever.
But anyway,
here,
I feel like I'll usually do something with my friends,
but,
but recently I've been doing a lot of stuff by myself and everywhere I go,
somebody either recognizes me or I vaguely feel like I know somebody.
I feel like we're limiting ourselves and you know,
you out here,
you look great.
Let,
let the people see your toes on the streets,
baby.
No, my toes are not the look, but I got them out because what am I doing?
Because you know what the thing is?
I do have an issue.
You know, it's mess.
The thong shoe is back and we have to stop.
That's how I know you guys are not serious about summer.
The thong shoe with the heel.
The flip-flop heel.
So first of all, you're cutting the circulation off between your big toe and the second toe.
Right.
Because the way that thong, first of all, if the.
It's shoved in there.
It is.
And if you don't have a cushion there, oh, you're going to be bleeding.
I did that in the early 2000s.
I don't need to do that right now.
I think I wore a pair of shoes like that to graduate.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then that little nickel that you're, that you call a hill, it's like three stacks of
nickels that you're, you aren't, you're not, you can't run.
You can't dance.
You, you, you can't, you, you can't be quiet because you can hear that.
I hate that.
I hate a regular flip-flop, and then I hate those thong heels.
And those are the shoes that the girls are running on the streets in, sis.
Oh, and you know what I really hate is the thong heel, and then they got the boot.
The boot!
The boot covering up the calves.
Yes.
But then you have all of this foot out and your toes.
This much of the foot is out.
It's so random.
Thong.
Yeah, I've seen those.
It's like, what do you want?
Are you cold?
Are you hot?
Are you dancing?
Are you doing something casual?
Okay, so let's talk.
If I had those shoes, would you, how would you feel about me?
I feel like you can make it work.
I'm not going to lie.
I mean, I feel like it's a pretty dumb shoe.
You can do no wrong.
And I feel like that's the thing that makes you you is like style.
You know, you know how to put things together that don't have to really make all sense.
And it makes sense on you.
But if I see myself in a boot thong sandal, it would be odd.
it would be and you know what i love akira down i and that's who exactly the brain i'm thinking of
yes i order stuff from them but then when i see that i'm like should i take a risk but it's like
living in new york city the streets are just too damn hard the cobblestone hates you i don't want
to have an accident i just can't i agree with what you're saying but i was just talking to these
people right before you got here about like footwear for the summer right like i feel like i
need like cute sneakers i want some fun flats i want you know something with a with a heel that
i'm not like teetering around in you're like this i need something a little chunky
stilettos pumps in the club that's for the young hoes that's for the youngest of hoes the young
hoes are wearing sambas sis they wearing sambas and they're wearing um the mthong sandals the
shackles of the sambas. It's something
about a kind of coolish
sneaker that got the girls in a choke
hold. And that's fine. That's fine. I come
from a different time where we would only
wear heels. You could not get in the club
unless you had a heel. You could not
come in a sneaker hoodie or a hat.
You could not do that. With the big ass
pocketbook. The big bag.
Because it's overnight. You never know
where you're going to go. You don't know
what expedition is going to be outside. You're like, girl,
we going to upstate
now. So
So the girls are not living like that.
They got the tiniest bag.
They got the littlest sneaker.
They got the booty shorts.
I mean, I don't know if it's day or night.
It's confusing.
But you know what the thing is?
That's their story.
That's their ministry.
For me, I need a little bit of the chunk.
The chunk on the end.
Well, last summer, the girls had the boots out.
And I was just saying, I don't think that I can do boots again this summer.
It's not going to be a hot-ass summer.
but now you're talking about the thong and i do hate them shoes but i'm like baby that's the
solution i got a boot but my toes is out drop top pulled up to the scene with my
with your big toe missing no the toe is gonna be there the toe's gonna be too obvious actually
you know what i think after this we should go let's go to soho and let's look for those shoes
and let's try them on well i want to go i want to go to the real real because i want to get this
bag so soho the timing perfect powerful you see how we are twin where have you been yeah i haven't
seen you in days so we're very much so yes we catch it up sis yeah we really are i you know
what let's talk about it marie shot her show the three episodes for why are you single i'm
so freaking proud of you it was amazing to see you so professional you were so professional
you didn't have an attitude you were very taking your time you're like yep okay cool well every
single person that i worked with and i think i'm lucky everybody on the crew the the director the
producers everybody was nice everybody was chill everybody was in like you know what i mean it was
very easy to work with all of them and it's crazy because one of the contestants messaged me and she
was like that everybody was so nice to me like even she was impressed with how she was treated
because you know you do these things in showbiz and people be assholes they don't give a damn
and they're just like yeah you're supposed to be here you're lucky that you're even in the
building it's like hey babe my time is precious too i am somebody i am some i am malcolm x
phenomenal woman phenomenally that's who i am and it's just like hey show some love to every
single person who's doing this girl also the budget was microscopic we got to be nice to each
other like that's all we have yeah like be nice but we're used to that i mean no shade it's just
like coming up i remember that we used to do so many shows for free yeah we used to be in so many
basements we used to so it's so many budget budget situations where you're like yo with hair is not
included makeup's not included we got to come with our own shit and it that prepared us for
these projects that are passion yeah passion project that you're like you know what i can
do this without the all of the money but then when i do get all the money then i can expand
listen there'll be signs yeah you'll be like what's that over there you know what let's let's
even take it a step further um you know i was looking at my bank balance the other day and i
I was like, I could afford to live a little bit more luxuriously.
You feel me?
Do you feel me?
But I love that you're living below your means because then that's preparing you for the big, big business stuff.
You know what I mean?
That's the problem.
People start seeing all the money come in and they're like, oh, boom, I need to pay $7,000 for rent.
I need to get all the Chanel, all the Gucci.
And it's like, hey, hey, we're doing a lot.
Chanel is overpriced.
It is.
Chanel-y, Chanel-y, Chanel-y.
It is.
But if Chanel ever wants to be a part of me, I would love to be in the Chanel family.
Love, I'll be in.
Me, Zendaya, Sydney.
I don't know who else.
Is Ayo a Chanel girl?
Yeah, she is.
I'll put my hair in a slicked back bun.
Whatever you need me to do, I'm down.
But I'm also like, that's the great thing about being charismatic, being beautiful, being eclectic.
You can make anything look good.
You just want me eclectic?
Eclectic.
Eclectic?
Eclectic.
Eclectic.
I said eclectic
I said it right
even though people
in the comments
like oh my favorite
thing about Sydney
is that she's gonna
get a word wrong
hey hey
I'm doing my best
hey but they said
that's their favorite
thing about you
it's a compliment
it's underhanded
but it's a compliment
you're a dumb bitch
you're a relatable
hot dumb bitch
and smart though
but smart
yeah
you know what I'm saying
like you have to be smart
to be a comedian
you have to
or a rapper
well
I guess
it's some dumb ones
that fall through the cracks every time but well it's the people listening the the rappers are
only doing as much as the the audience is accepting and so if everybody accepting you know
coconut water like then we're we're gonna be listening to that and throwing ass and you're
like but i actually like trim so i'm not even going i'm not going too hard on that but uh
i was thinking of kodak black but oh well who's listening to kodak black i mean he's got some
bobs it's so funny that his name is kodak black and he hates being black and he hates black people
he said the anti-blackness that comes out of his nasty dirty mouth well that's the coding sis
i mean he says he was a crack baby that's what he's a project baby maybe he said project baby
but it's definitely giving something yeah as a haitian i don't subscribe i'm not really
affiliated with him he's not really affiliated with us like yeah kodak black haitian from from
florida haitian mother and everything yeah i'm sorry to hear that whoa i'm sorry a moment of
silence for that anyway i've decided that i want to get some designer bags i don't want to spend
the brand new price for them for all of them but that's why i want to go to the real real there's a
a red speedy louis vuitton bag that i would like to see and and you know the price went down a
little bit on it so i just i want to see it before i put a bid in okay so because the real the real
is about bidding no i feel like the real real is like it's like secondhand designer stuff okay um
consignment okay you know but i feel like you can't really tell what the dupes because people
will buy the real and then return a dupe and now you buying the dupe y'all gotta stop it with the
dh gate no no no shade to dh gate hey y'all doing what y'all gotta do for the girls that aren't a
budget but wouldn't it make more sense to just get something that's interesting that nobody has seen
before and that could be like yours instead of getting the the copy you know nah people we live
in a time people are label whores and everybody is famous and everybody is quote unquote rich
and everybody's living this like luxurious life and it's like instead of working your way up to
that it's like i'm gonna take the shortcut and just pretend that i'm that but i don't know i
listen i was on canal street in high school and college so i'm no better than y'all but i'm finally
ready to get like an lv and a real dior and a real you know what i mean i i bought the fake coach
belt the coach belt that everybody had in the fake coach purse and I did that and I just want
to say then I got my money and I was able to afford those things and I just want to let you
know if you don't know how to take care of things if you don't know how to um appreciate the the
smaller thing you're you're going to get to that point of buying all this stuff and it's never
going to be enough so it's about getting the things that you really really love and then being
okay with the smaller brand stuff because those things don't make you mix things high low high
low high it's all about being high low the hair is always gonna be high the hair clothes is gonna
be high the hair is the hair is always going to be the most expensive thing on me yeah and my
titties and then everything else and the titties look great today you know what i i'm thinking
about i want to get them redone because like i just i want them to be i like that like you're
about to do a nip slip i want to do this i want them to be like oh does that look too hard yeah
i mean they look real um you know real baywatch real um pamela in the 90s in the 2000s yeah but
titties don't even matter anymore now titties at nothing matters the the everything is devalued
in terms of being a woman now.
So it's just like,
you might as well have your flat chest
and your weird ass
and just be yourself.
Step outside your fits
that make you feel the most you.
Okay?
It don't got to be something that,
I mean, I don't know.
I don't know.
I'll put this down
so I can show everybody my coach bag.
I love that.
It looks so good.
Now, I can't bring this out when it rains
because it's suede.
Yeah.
So on a rainy day,
it'd be right in the house.
I think mine,
this can be in the rain.
Shout out to Telfar.
They got these bags.
And, yes, it looks, it's giving, you know, plastic cheapy bag.
But this was not cheap.
And I can put so much stuff in it.
I know.
And I can close it.
And it's just like, this is what I want.
You can close it, this is it?
No, no, no.
But it's like, it's not open like a sandwich.
Yeah.
With those small, small bags.
But I do want to get a nice bag, too.
But I'm also like, I need to get more money.
And I need to do more things.
Let's get more money.
Yeah.
Let's get more money.
Let's do more.
I mean, the podcast is doing great on YouTube.
Hey, we at 10,000 something.
Oh, and Molly sent me some mock-ups.
For the merch.
Yeah.
Okay.
Let's talk about the merch.
I also want to, I was thinking, I was like, what if we brought Molly back just for like 15 minutes to review?
It would be like a 10-year review or something like that.
Molly.
Molly, my assistant.
Listen, if y'all go all the way back, the way they dragged her from here to Selma, they did 40 days and 40 nights of dragging Molly so bad.
They were like, do not hire her.
She's crazy.
She's weird.
And you know what she did?
Sydney hired Molly.
I hired her immediately.
I said, oh, they hate her?
Come on, girl.
And they've been working together for how long now?
Forever.
I mean, when I went to L.A., I stopped working with her.
But now I finally have money to actually pay her.
And she is, I mean, she's learned so much.
She works so hard.
She's like, what can I do?
To help you.
What do you need for the pocket?
Like, she's always thinking of, like, things to make my life better.
And I love her for it.
I literally love her for that.
And, you know, it's okay that you guys were mean to her up top.
Because I actually need y'all to be protective.
Because I will let anybody in the sphere.
Absolutely.
I'll let any.
I'm hugging everybody.
I'm getting my number out.
I'm doing it.
I do.
I do.
I do.
Because, hey, at least my heart is open.
I'd rather be an open heart than a closed book.
Girl, have you never seen.
For somebody who watches all these documentaries, for somebody who watched all the, as many documentaries as you've seen on Netflix and Hulu and HBO, you still lead with an open heart always and forever.
Because Marie, what I'm learning is if you are very eager, AKA thirsty and just like friendly, the people hate that.
They hate that.
They like a in-the-clouds bitch who's just like, you know, in-the-clouds bitch and very reserved.
They love stalking those girls.
Me, my head is on a swivel.
I have intuition, and I have, what's that?
Discernment.
I have discernment.
Something goes off when I'm feeling a certain way about somebody.
I'm like, you know what?
You know I ain't afraid to cut a bitch off.
Oh, yeah.
Sidney cut a bitch off Washington.
Sidney the new Mika.
Yo, OJ, yo!
Wait, should I get my phone?
Yes.
Yeah.
She sent us a message?
Or an email?
She sent us an email.
and y'all tell me what we should do.
I mean, obviously we got to talk to Mika,
but the girl that she was talking about hit us up
and she wants to come on the pod.
So y'all got to, y'all, we're going to do a poll.
Should we have the person she was talking about,
her cheap, broke, poor friend that had a wedding.
She said she was subsidized in her life.
Her subsidized friend.
Wait, where did this message come through?
Where did Becca send it to us?
I forgot.
Was it a text or an email?
I think it's in the text.
But I'm wondering, I'm like,
Should we talk to Mika
And be like hey your friend hit us up
Can we have her on the pod
Or should we just have her on the pod
Because what if you were on the pod
Talking shit about somebody
And then all of a sudden that person was on the pod
And be like clear my name
I actually have something to say
Okay boom I found it
Should I read it
I'm like I'm wondering if we did
Did we read it already
I don't think we did
I don't think we read it online
Okay so we'll just do some snippets
Don't go crazy
don't go crazy maybe i did read some snippets the last time did you i don't remember can we
talk about it maybe we talked about it off air i can't remember we literally can't remember
okay i'm just gonna read like one or two lines okay yeah yeah this is from mika's episode broadway
gays airing april 9th that's what it says in the email yeah um i know the show is supposed to be
fun and lighthearted but watching someone i've known for over a decade lie about me and twist
the truth to make me some sort of villain in their revenge fantasy is just wild reaching out
because sydney mentioned there's always three sides to a story which i say often i have some
receipts that can add context and provide the truth that are missing from her story i would
love to see the receipts i want to too because because people people were mad at me that i was
on mika's neck the way that they were like oh i'm i'm i'm disrespectful i'm rude like i thought you
brought her in to to have fun and I was just like no if I'm hearing the story I'm trying to just get
to the bottom of it because if you're my friend right and even if you done me dirty or I feel
weird about something I'm leading with grace because I'm like I don't want to drag this person
unless I never want to have anything to do with them at all that's just how it is I I don't want
because then I look crazy dragging this person in front of you and then all of a sudden you see me
hand in hand with them right yeah have you seen that have you seen me do that
tell me now tell me now tell me now something that you said you was done with that you're
still cool with after you dragged them i mean i can think of one person that you said you've
been done with every time i speak to you you're like i'm done with this person and then a few
weeks later you're like so and so's here and i'm like you might be kind of done with them now i
think you know who i'm talking about but i don't know it's hard it's tough because it's like
i do value all of my friendships but at the end of the day let's get right into it i got too many
i got too many people i've been we and we the people have been saying i have too many people
i'm making friends in the bathroom i'm going to the restaurant i'm talking to the waitress i know
people at the bar i'm going in the subway i'm i'm shaking hands i'm holding baby when's the last
time you was on the subway last week I think with you yeah we did take the train I mean it's I'm
I'm exhausted and I'm always extending myself so it's like if you're not showing up correctly for
me and it's been a long time coming chopped it's a chop it's hard for Marie you know I love people
down you know that I know that's why the people that you have cut off that I've seen it happen
i've been like wow there's one person that i cut off that i feel like you were kind of
like i don't know if i would have done that but i i'm with you sis i'm gonna stick beside you
which person is that i was gonna hit them up because you know they they had a new addition
and then i was like is that being fake because like even though we're not cool like i'm not
friends with you anymore i'm like oh congratulations that's amazing but also i was like you know what
you know what's mess you don't always got to say happy birthday or congratulations or hit people up
you don't have to do that they already got that they got that enough you don't have to give people
your blessings anymore i think we're at an age where it's just like let's should be yeah silence
is okay silence is okay silence is okay and don't don't force it you ain't gotta force it don't
I mean, Sydney, you're dropping bars today.
I'm trying to.
Nothing should have to be forced.
If we're really friends, then you'll reach out.
I'll reach out.
We'll get together.
We'll say, let's hang out and actually make a plan.
That's what friends do.
If life gets in the way and we're too busy for a certain amount of time,
we should always somehow find our way back to each other.
And feel no weirdness about it.
You know what I mean?
like I went to go see
Kenesha
well Kenesha came to
P-Town
to the show
and we periodically
see her like
I don't know
like once every
three or four years
but the love is always there
and I love a friendship
like that
and it's not low maintenance
it's just like
we don't live in the same city
and I can't expect
too much from you
but whenever we
in town
whatever
we gonna link up
and she gonna have
something nice on the grill
or in the oven
cute dog
yes they put
Wagyu on the grill
yeah they're doing
oh she showed me
all the videos
of when you were
in our house.
And so it's like,
it should be like that.
It should never be like,
you're not doing enough.
Hey, babe,
we're all stressed.
We all got things to do.
And that being said,
there are some friends
who ain't doing enough.
But also,
what you doing as a friend?
Do you feel like
there's people
not showing up for you?
I don't know.
Yes, I do, actually.
There are people
who are not showing up for me.
And that's fine.
Marie.
You busy.
You got things going on.
I'm busy.
I got stuff going on.
I never heard you say this.
What do you mean?
You asked the question.
I've answered it truthfully.
I mean, this is a breakthrough right now.
What's so broken through about this?
I think that like, and I need to, I need to be honest with you.
I think you come from a way of like, oh, I don't, I don't expect anybody to do anything.
Like if they want to, they want, you don't put pressure on anybody.
I don't think that I should have to.
You don't.
I feel like I was raised in a very pressure filled home and I don't want none of that on me.
And I try not to put that on people, because I feel like if you want to, you will.
And if you don't, then don't.
But do you do that so that, like, kind of relinquish you of people putting pressure on you?
Well, you already know I'm not a good texter.
I'm not really that great at calling people on the phone.
I don't really want to FaceTime that much.
And when I do, I do.
But, like, I'm bad at following up, for sure.
I'm bad at looking at emails and responding to them on time.
um yes i i stand by that but now it's nice out and it's like well i want to see my friends and
i want to be outside and i want to be around people and there's things a bunch of restaurants
and like um you know just fun installations and things like that that i want to do and you know
you got to reach out to people to do that stuff or you got to be ready to go by yourself yes and
i think that's the difference between me and a lot of people is i'm doing stuff by myself yes
because you are the party hey i'm the birthday you are the birthday i'm the birthday you gotta
point you to birthday hat babe but also i'm talking to strangers in the bathroom i'm talking
to people at the bar like i went to dinner the other day i had this place saved matter of fact
this guy invited me on a date there oh and i couldn't go all right it was we got back from
la that day yeah and so i couldn't go i got the message late and i saved it in my phone it's a
listening bar so like you know oh yes speakers i want to go yeah i mean but the day the night that
i went to this uh to this listening bar i feel like i think he was out of town i might have been
out of town yeah i have been out of town yeah yes you've been racking up those miles i have but i
was i sat at the bar because sometimes you go out to eat and it's like well where do i sit
sit at the bar sit at the bar have a little conversation with the bartender maybe
and if there's people sitting next to you maybe you'll strike up a conversation with some strangers
and you're not ever really alone yes but if you had a table now you know there's people
do you have a book the bar is good for that always be nice to the bartender make sure they
know that you're going to tip them right or whatever so that like you know maybe they think
you're it's always good to be a regular you got to be but not like that regular that is annoying
yeah like make them miss you but it's always good to build up a rapport with the bartender
Cause if they fucking with you or they'll introduce you to other people who
come by themselves,
they'll,
they'll link you up.
Oh,
this is my DJ friend.
They're mixing a new drink.
Do you want to taste?
And you're like,
try that.
That's good.
That's good.
I don't think I have a bar that I'm a regular at.
Well,
let's find one.
Well,
but I mean,
it's,
I'm trying to work my way through this list of places that I want to try.
Okay.
But I went,
there's this couple having a whole date next to me.
It's like a black dude and like,
um,
I'm gonna say Persian girl.
I don't know what number date it was
but when I got there
they were sitting kind of
far away from each other
and like
by the time my first course came
they was tonguing each other
down
did they have drinks?
down
yeah they had drinks in front of them
of course
like a nice drink
you know
we went out
we went on that rooftop last week
and there was that couple making out
after they took them shots
oh yes
that's right
they were there
and it was crazy
because I was like
they don't look like
they would be together
but like after a couple
like warm shots
of vodka
warm shots
girl you think
they was thinking
vodka shots
or tequila
it feel like tequila
it feel like tequila
tequila really do
be getting it going
but yeah it was this
Asian dude
and this like
black girl
with natural hair
she was stunning
listen
she was gorgeous
my sis looked
good
she looked
you know
speaking of that
situation
that
when we went there
now
y'all let us know
if this is mess or not
If your friend asks you, oh, come to this spot, or I'm working there, whatever, or I'm working there, I'm here.
I'm here, pull up.
Pull up, right?
You come, and they know you don't really drink like that.
You don't drink like that.
So if I'm coming, I'm literally just coming to see you.
And so I don't want to sit down and just get water or be like, oh, I'm good.
Should I be getting a check?
Should I be getting a check?
The way that you invite somebody determines how they show up.
Yes.
So if you say, pull up, I'm here.
I'm here.
Then I'm expecting something's going to be calm.
Take care of me.
But if I hit you up like, yo, I know you working at da-da-da-da, I'm thinking I'm pulling my card out because I'm asking you.
But also it's just like.
But even then, I feel like some stuff should be calmed.
At least around a drink.
Yeah.
Some shots.
Yeah.
You know I'm pulling up here, and you know the reason I'm here is because of you.
I'm going to spend some money, but, like, something should be calmed.
I'm just like, what is the protocol?
What is a non-messy protocol if you're pulling up to somebody's job or their event or whatever?
Like, do you assume, okay, you taking care of me because you want me here?
You clearly need my presence.
But sometimes I'll be like, tell somebody to come to my show, right?
Come to my show.
Yeah, get the tickets.
Come to my show, get the tickets.
But then there's times
Where I'm like
Oh come to my show
I'ma put you on the list
Right
So if I put you on the list
Don't assume that
I'm getting you drinks
No
Cause babe you're already
On the list
Hey babe
Get your drinks
Cause it gotta
Give and take
There's a give and take
It's no way you're expecting
Me to get you drinks as well
I'm on stage
I'm working
I don't work
At the bar
Yeah
Go to the bar
Up here
Go to the bar
Under the lights
But if
Okay here's another thing
If I always take care of you
If you're always asking, oh, let me come through, da-da-da-da-da, right?
And I'm taking care of you, getting you in, getting you drinks, da-da-da-da-da.
And I finally come up to your spot, oh, baby, I better get the red carpet treatment.
I hope, I pray.
I hope, I pray.
Well, we didn't get it.
Got a check.
Spent more money than, like, it may seem.
I'm paying $30 for a mocktail, baby.
never never never ever ever do i want that i don't i don't need to get a mocktail i don't need
that drink i i'm here for the agua or i could go somewhere that i know somebody who will give me a
mocktail for free for the free i pay for food but i i don't really want to be paying 13 for no muddled
mint leaves and sprite i'm sorry i think it was 16 it was crazy it was like 16 and then my drink
was like i don't know 20 something and then the check came and it was like 41 dollars listen and
also you gotta be honest if i'm pulling up to your spot hey i don't i work here but i don't
they don't know me like that what's up it was unclear if they worked there or not sis it was
it was it was strange but also it's like if you kind of don't work there you kind of have pulled
then i'm gonna be at the bar i'm not sitting at a table because if i'm a waitress hey babe i'm here
to make money. This is brunch hours,
lunch hours, dinners.
I need tables to be turning.
I got bills to pay. There's
bags that people want to buy.
We're going to the real, real. We're going to the real, real.
We should go to the Louis Vuitton
store first, touch all the
new stuff, then go to real, real
and get our hands on the...
I don't know. Sometimes I don't want to be going to these
establishments where they be thinking,
oh, the sales associates be thinking they better than
everybody. Hey, babe, you work there.
hey babe your work you work there you get a discount don't be acting like oh i'm so rich
and better than everybody who coming up in that um no you're not rich unless your name is louis
your last name is veto it's like don't judge a book by his cover like yeah i'm in am i i'm in
a sweat outfit let's go to all the stores so i can touch all the bags that i want and not buy
nothing big mistake huge yeah i do i actually do want to go to margiela because i want to try on
I want to try on the shoes
remember that man was supposed to get me them shoes for Christmas
never gave me them shoes
maybe today is the day that I
let's wrap this up
speaking of men
who's going to buy my air conditioner this year
oh yes that's a good point Marie
who's going to buy your air conditioner
who's going to buy my air conditioner this year
I feel like you know somebody
I feel like you know somebody
I think I got to get him back to the house
to like do some work in my
a hot apartment for him to be like,
ooh, it's hot in here.
No, Marie, I think you got it to the point
where somebody just want to take care of you
from afar, too.
I think they can, you know,
cash after you, Zelle you, Apple Pay you,
whatever, and you tell you to get...
Well, last year was from afar.
Yeah.
But, you know, because I didn't want to be
nowhere close to that guy.
Because I'm here for Marie being, you know,
all the women, independent,
throw your hands up at me.
But also, you should be showered with gifts.
I should.
But also, it's like, there is a little bit about me that's like, you waiting for a man
to get you some air?
Girl.
Oh, you waiting for a man to get you some air?
Something about that don't sit right with me.
That's a bookmark.
But that's going to be some of the merch.
You waiting for a man to get you some air.
It's going to be a long-ass bookmark.
Necklace.
It's going to be a necklace bookmark.
I'm kind of like, friend, now you know you can get you an AC.
The only reason why I don't want to get my own A.C. is because I know I'm not going to keep it.
Girl, you have to keep it.
I don't have nowhere to put it.
I got to pay rent for storage for it.
I don't know, Marie.
So I got to buy the air conditioner.
And you know if I'm buying it, it's going to be mad B.T.U.
So I'm going to be in there like this.
Right?
I'm going to be chilly polar bear.
And then after I get this A.C. and I run up my electric bill for the whole summer,
then I gotta pay rent
for a storage unit
for an air conditioner
that I only need for three months
out of the year? Let's not even get
into how I bought an AC
and then people did a GoFundMe
for me to get another AC
and then I left that apartment and I
lost both ACs
she gave one away then she took
one it was great I was like Carolina
wait I didn't say that was okay
to be fair Sydney you did leave
dashed. I did dash, but I was like,
hold on about the, I was going to get
one of the ACs to you.
And then Caroline was like, oh, girl, we didn't already.
It's spoken for.
It's gone.
But Sydney, they said you left that apartment
and it looked like you were just like going
for a walk. That's how full you left
the place. Well, I was like, oh, I'm coming
back. And then I said, I'm
coming home. I'm coming
home. And then I was like, well, I guess home
is L.A. now. Damn.
I can't believe you lived in L.A. for a full
two years two years i almost died y'all i literally was like i am going to jump off this balcony
that's how bad la was for me and now i'm in new york and i couldn't imagine i couldn't imagine
me really being anywhere else girl and this is the best time to be in new york the next
but even if they don't win it still feels like we already won they don't know how to act you
know how somebody's like act like you've been somewhere before that's not the knicks the knicks
the knicks fans they have never been anywhere anywhere before because they're like yo when
have we ever won the last time we was here was 1999 damn somebody did somebody did a video she
was like here are all the things that did not exist the last time the knicks weren't went to
the finals the iphone ipods um oh wow i only remember those two things there's so many things
yeah no no spotify no not like none of that no no playlist like yeah none of that 1999
the niggas thought we was gonna die yeah when the when the when the ball dropped yeah y2k
so yeah waiting for tonight barely existed yeah there was no bbls bitch come on the bbl bandits
y'all need to be on your zoom okay the men's are out the men's the girls everybody's out
Everybody loves sports now.
I'm in.
Hey.
I done bought about three, four, five jerseys.
I know.
I saw you in the Knicks top last week, and I said, okay.
I just like the colors, but I'll say, go Knicks, go Knicks.
Go sports.
Yeah.
Anyway, I see what the Liberty game did.
Girl, give me and pass me some snacks or something.
You know, I've never been to a Liberty game before.
I've gone once.
I went with Julia and it was cool.
But I was like, I want to be on the wood, you know?
On the wood?
You wanted to be on the floor.
I wanted to be on the floor.
And my girlfriend was very upset because she's like, I'm getting us tickets.
I said, well, I mean, can we?
I was like, the tickets, I hope they're good.
Like, I don't want to be far up.
And she's like, how dare you?
And I said, what do you mean?
I'm a public figure.
You can't have me all the way up to the ceiling.
That's not true.
I went to a basketball game with Mateo Lane once.
We was up top.
When was this?
I don't know.
It was Barclays.
I think you might have been there.
Yes, this was like three years ago.
And we was up.
Who were we with?
I don't remember that.
Sydney, maybe you weren't with us.
Nah, I think you were there.
It was me, you, Mateo, and like one other friend.
oh should we hear a voicemail before oh yeah what's the best way for them to hear it i think
we could put it to the phone and i gotta update my slack so i can see who's okay amina amina wants
my wig which wig what what i got going on here hold on she said it looks so good
hi it's cindy marie um i love the podcast and i genuinely look forward to listening
or actually watching has turned me into an iPad kid.
Anyway, I just wanted to know if this is nice.
I'm just living.
I'm a 27-year-old lesbian, and I have a girlfriend.
And recently, we weren't following each other on social media
when we first started talking, you know,
because we wanted to just get to know each other in person
and didn't want to become attached in that, like, weird parasocial type way.
and so recently we decided to follow each other after we've been dating for three months
and um i forgot that i had pictures of my ex up there and forgot as in she's in slideshows
of um pictures that i posted during the time we were together now my ex and i were together from
2022 to 2024 and we have been no contact ever since the day um we broke up um for a range of
reasons and my current girlfriend knows all this but she felt some kind of way when she was going
through my Instagram for the first time after three months um after three months of being
together and was seeing that my ex was on my page I explained this to her she seemed to understand
but I just it made me think I'm like is it is it mess or am I just living because the reason I
still have those photos are because those are photos of me um during that time period and I
feel like if i delete those photos i don't have anything any photos of me from that time um and
like i do but i mean like on social media and what am i going to do like repost them delete them and
then repost them and she's not on like the cover photo of anything so like if you open up my grid
um um i don't believe there's any you know so i just feel like if i could go in and delete the
I would do it, but I just don't want to delete all my photos from 2022 to 2024 because she's in them.
So what are your guys' thoughts on that?
I don't believe in backsliding and being friends with exes after as a lesbian.
I stand strong on that because I know our community struggles there.
So it's no
I have not talked to this person
And there's no
Like
Risk that that will happen
And so yeah
Just wanted to give more context
Okay
Bye
Thanks so much
What do you think Marie?
She really don't want to
Delete them photos
Girl now you gotta
Send us the photos
Cause I wanna
Are you eating
In every photo?
Right
I feel like the ones
With the girl
Can
The ex can be deleted
Or archived
Oh yeah
That you can go back
And edit
Yes
And delete it
You can go
You can go in to the thing, edit, delete the ones that shouldn't be in there,
and leave the ones of you looking fly from 2024.
Also, I do need a visual aid.
I need to see.
Girl, you're going to have to show us your page.
For sure.
For sure.
But now, how far back does she have to scroll to see these flicks from 2024?
Because it's 2026 now, babe.
It sounds like you're only posting three times a year.
Right.
How does she go all the way back?
Right.
But I have gone all the way back.
I've gone all the way back from the person that I'm dating, people I've dated before.
I've gone all the way back on your page and been like, oh, damn, she archived a lot of stuff.
But then I was like, I've archived a lot of things.
You got to archive.
You got to archive.
Well, I do anyway.
I mean, it's a lot of, it was a lot of embarrassing things of me on social media.
What?
That's got to go.
What do you mean?
You know, back in the day where you posted how you posted, you know, the way that you, the way when it's social media was fun.
Yeah.
but sometimes we need to look back at that but you know what's embarrassing having photos of
your ex on your page get that off of here get it get them man get them out of here we don't need
that it's like it's mess take it out like i i literally there was a moment where i was like
oh but we're cool it's not bad but it's like take it out of there you don't need that you're moving
on we're moving forward you know what i mean like there you can't catch pictures of my forehead all
way back here so why should you see pictures of an ex from all the way back there okay yeah yeah
yeah no i've i've archived all the stuff with my forehead like really out like with the braids and
everything it's gone you can't see that yeah you can archive it and still have the photos babe you
just they're not gonna be public yeah yeah but it's you could delete it you could delete it and
then upload a different photo where you cut them out babe I'm I'm sure you look amazing regardless
of the year it's fine you move on get them out of here get them out of here you don't need that
unless you don't have a lot of posts on your page but what that makes it even worse you don't have
a lot of posts on your page and so I don't have to scroll that far to see you and your ex boo
who's that you know yeah girl good come on now stop it get it stop you the way the mental
gymnastics you doing we got no contact blah blah hey if i don't have no contact with somebody
they're off my page if we we ended on bathroom they're off my page i actually don't need that
negativity on my page listen in my lifetime i've posted two of my men on my page one remember
oh i do remember that and that was a whole big thing when i finally posted yeah yeah but when
we were done he was gone yeah he's gone um and then uh on my birthday a couple years ago so and
so came to my birthday party and i posted that emoji on his face that was funny but i just liked
the way i look at that photo you looked amazing and you putting that emoji over it made it even
funny i know i'm just trying to be like paris sachet yeah you know paris will go parasailing
with somebody
and post a photo
of them on vacation
and put the full emoji
on the lady's face.
Shout out to Paris Sashay.
Y'all make sure
y'all follow that girl.
She's so funny.
Okay, let me,
let's do one more
and then get out of here.
Okay.
Hello, good sis
and good sis.
I just wanted to give you
a heads up.
When you go for ADHD medication
and they want to do
a blood and a urine test,
they are trying to see
if you're on any other drugs.
and I don't know how it is
in New York, but in
Michigan, some prescribers will not
prescribe you ADHD medication
if you have weed in your system.
Weed in your system?
I'm going to give you a heads up on that.
That took me a long time.
That was for you, friend.
I don't want you to have to wait anymore.
Best of luck.
Best of luck, sis.
Love you, girl.
That's mess.
Before you get tested,
Before you get ADHD medication, they test your urine and your blood.
And some places won't give you the medication if you have weed in your system.
It's crazy.
That's insane.
Weed is how I cope.
Exactly.
If you have ADHD and you have anxiety, you're going to have to use something if you're not on ADHD medication.
That's a mess.
Listen, and last week we did that dinner.
It was a weed.
It was an edible sponsored dinner.
Shout out to Eaton.
That was amazing.
Eaton Botanicals.
I feel like women-owned, women-run, like, great.
It was gorgeous.
Actually, is it women-owned?
I'm just going to say they are, because in my mind, they are.
No, no.
Everybody who was there was women, but she said the person at the top is a man.
It was a guy.
Yeah.
Boo.
Tomato, tomato, tomato.
Tomato, tomato, tomato.
Anyway, they gave me a bunch of edibles, and me and most of the people who were at that
dinner have been high every day since that dinner was literally a week ago.
It was incredible, friend.
It was, it was truly, I, you need to do more dinners.
I would love for us to do your, your mushroom and mocktails.
Like, like we do a mix.
I'll invite friends.
You invite friends.
I think it's going to be a lot of crossover though.
I know we do really have this.
And you know, I do, I'll be trying to keep the mushroom people like black.
And I feel like, you know, if you do a mocktail with me, it's going to be some, it's going to be some not so black.
You know what I mean?
Who are you going to invite?
Give me the list.
Somebody's going to show up with their kid.
They're going to be like, oh, mocktails?
That means I can bring the baby.
Bitch.
Actually, Carolina, if you're listening to this, you better not bring your baby to Mushroom
Pick.
She would absolutely do that.
I know she would.
And she better not.
Marie, I can't believe you said that.
Zaynab said, she's like, who's your audience?
Gay and whites.
That's not true.
I have black audience members as well.
I have a good mix of everybody.
Young, old, black, white, gay, beautiful, not so beautiful.
Like, I got everybody.
Great personalities.
Great personalities.
Amazing energy.
Beautiful gowns.
That's fucked up, Marie.
What's fucked up, Sydney?
Do you not have a lot of beige buddies?
You have beige buddies as well.
And I don't invite them to my picnic.
Who do you want to invite to the mocktail party?
I love y'all.
We wrapping it up.
Make sure y'all give us reviews.
please subscribe on our

That's crazy.
