Starting point is 00:00:00 you want to watch the episode oh of course you do so click the link in the episode description oh you're listening to mess oh my god another day another mess another day another mess another day another mess and it's always you oh i love that It's up to you Mads Mads Mads Mads
Starting point is 00:00:37 Mads Is that what it is? No It is now Oh, you're not familiar with Sinatra's work? You didn't know we were singers on the side? You know, like obviously Frank Sinatra is way before my time, but I
Starting point is 00:00:53 So I watched, clearly, I mean, I'll be, I think he was dead before I was born. He's not alive, right? No, no, he's dead. But he also feel like he maybe died in like 2011. You know what I mean? Like he feels like so old. That's like Johnny Cash, I think, but maybe not. Yes.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Oh, 1998. So he did die before I was born. Who? Oh my God. Okay, all right. Anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway. That's tough to hear. uh in that in the movie sing the little rat sings my way by frank sinatra and i love that song
Starting point is 00:01:26 oh my god sing is so good i love that song now it's just so i did it and it's like he did it the song is just the rat did it his way well yeah the rat but also frank yeah but the song is it's just i don't know yeah it makes you embody yourself you're like i'm i'm i'm i'm amazing yeah molly what's your favorite song right now oh folded by kalani literally i listened to it three times on the walk here and i'm like people are probably like what's that person listen to and they're not guessing that you know it's truly not but are you i mean you could be dealing with relationship stuff which everybody is and it's about an ex So you're trying to fold up your ex's stuff?
Starting point is 00:02:13 No, I just really like, you know what? I got to know the song because I went to my friend Missy's birthday party at Ray's and they were singing karaoke and this gay guy just absolutely destroyed. And I was like, this song is amazing. And everyone was like, it's folded by plenty. I was like, totally. So then I went on my own journey. Sold in the summer, by the way.
Starting point is 00:02:30 And I went down my own journey. I was like, this is amazing. Actually, I'm really content. Nobody sings folded, not even mine. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. But my thing is... Actually, I'm quite clean.
Starting point is 00:02:39 I fold my clothes. You just, you roll them up and you'll be like, Kobe. Yes. But I'm wondering, did you read all of the lyrics? Well, I mean. Do you know what the song is about? Yeah. I've been, I didn't read them.
Starting point is 00:02:51 I sang them. You know what I mean? You felt them. Yeah, I felt them. And I was like, come pick up your clothes. I have them folded. And you know, it's like, come now before the door's closed. Also, meet me at the door.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Meet me at the door. Do not step in my house. No, no, no. No, no, no. Also, I'm not walking to the car. No. and you're lucky it's not on the lawn hey but in brooklyn nobody really has lawns but maybe it's on brooklyn i don't know where she lives it's an updated to the left to the left yeah pretty
Starting point is 00:03:20 much yeah that was beautiful it was yeah yeah but i think like we hear beautiful songs but we don't realize what it really is about because it's just like we're so caught up in the singing that's but like people have to stop doing the olivia dean um i only have a couple minutes like it's not a it's not a wedding song it's not a song to profess your love no back on your soul oh my god that song makes me weep as well i still care yeah i love that song you shouldn't be walking down the aisle to a couple minutes oh people are walking that's yeah that's a wedding is that like the new um john uh john legend um yeah yeah yeah because all of me yeah and i was like oh come on guys but that is a wedding song right yeah not maybe not to walk
Starting point is 00:04:09 down the aisle but for sure like for the first dance or something maybe but it's just kind of generic sure but i'm saying the first person that heard it was like this is going in the wedding right right you know an innovator and you know if i was a straight woman i'd probably do the same i'd probably like book it you know thank goodness you're not a straight woman i just love a ballad i love a sad song i hope usually about heartbreak or somebody like but i just i like a song that it sounds like you can tell the person singing it wrote it you know what i mean like you could tell when someone is feeling what they singing and then yeah when like singers like kind of weep a little yeah but i think like people need to listen to the to the
Starting point is 00:04:53 song because yeah like i'm i'm listening to brent faez which well-known toxic man but his song butterflies can you sing me a little he's changed he's changed his whole tune now he really is about he's trying to be a better man oh no he is a better man really because i because he said it yeah he's like you're you're one of a kind like you gotta listen to the words so you'd be like Oh, this is a song that I can actually profess my love. So you like to feel a lot when you listen to music? Well known to the pod. My heart is always on the mic.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Always. Don't you like to feel when you listen to music too, though? I told Devin this, but sometimes I just feel too much to feel. I'm just like, ugh. Like, I think, yeah. Like, I listen to a song and I beat the crap out of it until I can't listen to it anymore. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:43 And, yeah, with other songs, I'm like, I don't want to feel about what this person's feeling right now. Cause I'm having a really nice day and I don't want that to be a bad day, but I got to switch the song. No, I get ready to some sad shit. Oh, hit me with the,
Starting point is 00:05:57 even if you're having the most beautiful day. Huh? Even if you're having the most beautiful day. Yes. Hit me with the Yabba distance. Oh, distance. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:06:06 I feel you on a beautiful day. I want to listen to something. That's yeah. I want to be like, yeah, that, that, that,
Starting point is 00:06:10 that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that,
Starting point is 00:06:11 that, that, that, that, that, that, wow. today was a beautiful day i woke up i was washing dishes i listened to three little birds
Starting point is 00:06:26 oh my bob marley beautiful whoa marie that's precious to my heart song washing my dishes that's lovely that's a special moment and then when i put my makeup on to come here genie in a bottle stop i actually listened to the rains bitch the rain i know it's christina but i just went down a britney hole when i was in la and i was like i'm gonna Brittany is in a literal hole so that's that's good that you're I'm worried about her
Starting point is 00:06:50 thinking about her yeah we're all like hey Brittany if you're watching this we sending looking like yeah we with you sis thinking about you girl yeah and if I could pull out
Starting point is 00:06:56 my knives right now I would sometimes I'm like what would you do with the knives sometimes I see her on it comes up on my feet and I'm like bitch I'm feeling like that too
Starting point is 00:07:03 yeah yeah and I'm like who's editing who edited the the little flower like the little flower on her nipple like who's doing the editing
Starting point is 00:07:12 so someone is watching it and being like let's clean this up Is that on her page or is that somebody else? It is. It's on her page and she's doing Fuck, it's probably the kids. Like, you know, the kids is really up on. I don't think the kids
Starting point is 00:07:25 live with her. They live with Kevin Federline. Yeah, he's got a memoir out. What? We are not reading them out. I don't know, but I have to look it up. The title is like From Yuck Thing to I don't know what it is. I need to I made that up. From Yuck Thing to something.
Starting point is 00:07:40 What's his name? Kevin Federline? Yeah, it should have been like Oh Baby Baby. That should have been his the title of it it's bad oh thank you so much i don't know yeah you thought you knew you saw you thought you knew well he didn't even try he didn't even try no we don't know nothing about him yeah i would prefer to keep it that way yeah we will not well we won't be reading the book for the book club next night no you're in a book club yeah tell me everything yeah what do you read well the first book we uh we did it was a self-help book and so um what was it called marie I sent it to her
Starting point is 00:08:14 yeah yeah it was like it was like diet the artist way that's pretty much what it was yeah so wait
Starting point is 00:08:22 what I was gonna start the artist way and somebody was like oh you gotta do this one it cuts the crap a little bit yeah that's the one
Starting point is 00:08:31 that we did is it newer like it's a newer up to date I haven't finished the artist way yet and you know what I don't know if I ever will
Starting point is 00:08:37 respectfully I know people who've read it multiple times sure but I don't really know if i have that in me yeah well that's what it's about and i get a hand cramp right when i start writing in the morning i'm like my hand's cramping you're not even doing the morning pages
Starting point is 00:08:52 like no i i feel like that's the easiest part because you don't have to you it doesn't have to make sense you just write you know word bombing my morning pages take so long sometimes so your book club did you already talk about this can we talk about it no no no we I mean. So who's in it? Like how many people? It's just three of us. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:16 Yeah. Who picks the book or do you rotate? We rotate. Everybody has to pick a book. The last book we had was very, very smutty. It was smutty. I picked it. Which one was it?
Starting point is 00:09:26 It was called Last Man Alive. Last Man on Earth. Yeah. And yes, about this flight attendant for private jets who is traveling with some like famous rapper on the way to his bachelor party and the jet crashes on an island and they just gotta like oh i would read this in a second actually but it's it's it's smutty because they you know it's just them on the island so they banging how many people are trapped just the two of them well they're the only ones that survived everyone else passed yeah i'm using the word past a lot
Starting point is 00:09:55 not unalive no they died past um cool i love books lately so i'm what you're reading i've just been reading a lot i read this book called rejection which is like i went out to lunch with some friends and all of them brought it we all read the book without knowing that we read the book it's such a fucked up book you should read it rejection rejection i wish i brought the copy give us a log line okay what's the back of the book say it's the back of the book says uh it's like basically i think the author got the idea because he was rejected by so many um publishers and the back of the book is like that but the stories within it are
Starting point is 00:10:34 just about people absolutely so fucked up. They're just fucked up people with fucked up lives and fucked up stories and some of it is just outlandish and it I was just like It's about people that he's been in No, it's fiction. It's called Rejected?
Starting point is 00:10:50 Rejection. Rejection. I'm trying to get more love and light in my sphere so that I can I don't want to read that one. Yeah, because I'm like I'm already dark and I love sad fucked up shit already and so I'm trying to switch
Starting point is 00:11:05 it up so that I can be the person that I want to be. Have you read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn? Classic book. Well I am in Brooklyn and there's trees so I think I'm truly a part of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn Rejection is a collection of seven interconnected stories that explore
Starting point is 00:11:21 the theme of rejection through the lives of alienated and unloved young people. Well I've been there that's my life no you will not be relating to these people I don't know babe you will walk away
Starting point is 00:11:32 from that book and you'll be like I am incredible I am strong and I am talented and I am not these people I promise you
Starting point is 00:11:41 so it's the book is sad but it makes you feel good about what you got it's like what the fuck some of it's like
Starting point is 00:11:45 what the fuck that sounds like that Tyler Perry um movie that everything just kept getting worse for the girl
Starting point is 00:11:52 oh was it what was it called I don't remember I didn't see it but I feel like Raji P. Henson was in it And I was very upset.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Is it like newer? Yeah. It was on Netflix. It's called like Broken or Snap. It's like harsh. It's like hit. What is it called? Tired.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Yeah. The bottom. Yeah. Strong. Yeah, that's what it is. Strong or strong? Strong. It's definitely not strong.
Starting point is 00:12:18 It's definitely strong. Straw that broke the camel's back. Yeah. Damn, we didn't even talk about our messes up top. No, we didn't. Do you have mess? it's a mess but I think I gotta put it on the Patreon I don't think I can say it up here
Starting point is 00:12:33 yeah because it's yeah it's one of those so specific things that I can't say to the masses so yeah I gotta pay to play but I mean my message is that I keep going on the road
Starting point is 00:12:48 cause I'm doing that now she's on the road I have dates I need y'all to come out I got a lot of things coming up and I'm doing this live Barbie show and I got to do it in other markets. It's so good. Thank you, friend. I got to come see it and I'm ashamed that I'm ashamed.
Starting point is 00:13:05 It's okay, friend. You should be ashamed. I am. I mean, Marie has come to a lot, but I haven't really been in town though, so I guess I blame them. You want to show. You're filming. You're busy. I do want to see it. Yes. But I did go to Baltimore this last weekend
Starting point is 00:13:20 and I was having a blast. There's so many messies there. Just so many dope, beautiful people, gay, black white I'm sorry I'm just thinking about how hot my drink was sorry I didn't wrap you want some ice?
Starting point is 00:13:35 I'm really good I swear I'll make it fast but basically this is the you know I have four shows they're all going great boom boom boom we doing it love everybody is taking photos having a good time last show I wish it would have been the first show or the second show
Starting point is 00:13:52 it shouldn't have been the last show it wasn't as many people and then I'm 20 minutes into my show and my show is very chaotic and it's like a lot of, I've done a lot of bad things in my life and 25 minutes in, this whole family just gets up.
Starting point is 00:14:09 The mom, the father, the son, the ghost, the Holy Spirit, everybody is walking. How many members of the family? It felt like it was at least six. Six people get up in a light show and I said, damn, you know, And my fault is what was bad for me.
Starting point is 00:14:28 They were Indian. So I was like, oh, well, this isn't Ramadan friendly. So I assumed they were Muslim. So they definitely left and did not speak to me. And that was right because I was being- You said that while they were leaving? Yes. And everybody laughed.
Starting point is 00:14:40 Oh, I didn't mean to touch that part. And I said, yeah, I did say that. And I said, inshallah. You said inshallah? Yeah, everybody laughed. And so boom, boom, boom, we still going. It's great. I'm doing a lot of references for Black people.
Starting point is 00:14:52 The Black people laughing, the white people are not. And I said, so what what song should I be, you know, singing for y'all? You know, Sweet Caroline, you know, one more time. What should I do? You know, Genie in a Bottle. Like I'm trying to get them to be on. So then another like a couple, a couple gets up and now they leave. And I and I said, fuck, like I said, guys, don't worry. You know, it's this is just a part of the the process.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Some people just not going to fuck with you. And that's OK. And so now I'm trying to build myself up. then another couple leave but for you we're getting through it though now we're an hour in and another couple gets up and I said you guys cannot leave without telling me why you're leaving
Starting point is 00:15:34 okay they're like sorry it's late I was like it's Saturday and it's the late show so now I'm crashing out and then everybody's like booing them but I said I'm gonna
Starting point is 00:15:50 yelp y'all you can't yelp me I'm yelping y'all give me your name I need your badge numbers immediately so people are laughing at that and that was great um but it did it did I'm glad it hurt a little bit because I said why why are people leaving this is bad but then at the end of it it was like you know all the black people are like we are your audience and this is this is who is this for we love this keep going and then it kind of kind of felt like talent show you're doing great they were saying that in from the audience no they're doing right yeah yeah that's what it felt like that's what it no they were all coming up to me like showing me love and just being like as they should you find
Starting point is 00:16:27 your audience on the road which is yeah but it's really scary yeah it was it was i i mean there was a moment where i was like i'm about to cry but like people were laughing was going no no no no don't do that don't do that let me let me let me get through it yes ma'am let me get through it but yeah bitch i was like damn man i am doing something different and so um i told the i told the manager I said don't put that in the notes y'all don't put it on the notes people walking out you know that never happened but they filmed they filmed they filmed the whole thing so if they people want to see people walking out they could but it was you know I'm glad I'm doing what I'm supposed to do yeah I said this is not traditional stand-up this is I feel this is in my element but
Starting point is 00:17:07 to see a whole family walk out is so like what you think the capacity was in there The capacity is 100. This is Baltimore? This is Baltimore. Yeah, and so it's a... Yeah, but it wasn't... What's the room look like if you can relate to like a Union Hall space? Yeah, so Union Hall is small, so, you know, I probably...
Starting point is 00:17:26 You can see their faces, right? Yeah, so, oh, every single time. Oh, yeah, that's the worst. I'm talking to them while they're walking, getting their bags up. But six people got up. The family was in the front? No, they were in the back. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:17:37 But it was like 40 people there. So then they left, and then two left. And then when it was done, it was like, how many people do I have in this bitch? But it was great. I would have turned the lights up and been like, and now I can see everybody in here. No. Staying tuned. I don't need.
Starting point is 00:17:54 And now what? I only grabbed your arm, not for sympathy, but for sympathy for myself, because that happened to me last week. Okay. Yeah. No, everybody had a similar. Not an Indian family, particularly walking out six people. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:18:06 But like a similar, that was for, I feel your pain. That was not for like, oh, sleep a little bit. Well, I was like, no, no, I wouldn't disrespect you. And a friend was in the audience. And so then people had to move up to make it look more full, you know, in the front. I'm glad. I feel like. I'm glad I went through that.
Starting point is 00:18:25 You had three great shows. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then the last one was the weird one. Yeah. I agree. You kind of want the first one to be the sucky one so you can kind of cleanse that. Yeah. Cleanse the space.
Starting point is 00:18:38 cleanse the space with three good shows to close it out but the front end you know this happens but
Starting point is 00:18:45 it wasn't your whole weekend no no no the weekend was great I had a had a blast made some money things are good I just
Starting point is 00:18:52 I just gotta get more fans so that I'm not counting the people leaving the show you know what I'm saying I know
Starting point is 00:18:59 I feel it so let's get you some fans we're doing that the messies you have fans don't joke around don't joke around I do have
Starting point is 00:19:08 a mess. I love this jacket. Thank you. I said, it's so good. It's super. Thank you, baby. It's super. I did it at Comedy Underground Overground. It's a mess. well i don't know if my mess is mess or just living i'm gonna just say so i'll pose the question to y'all so the other day i went on two dates with two men two different
Starting point is 00:20:04 men um on the same way on the same night really and um i made out with both of them yes and both of them got me cars to my next as they should is that miss or is that no that's not enough yeah that is yeah girl i it truly it was nice outside and i was like i do have time to stop by and see you there's nothing messy about that i do want to get a drink oh wait you might disagree no i wish Marie would have went first So now I would do My sad ass story And then Marie's like
Starting point is 00:20:38 I'm getting Ubers And kissing everybody Ha ha You have a girlfriend Who loves you Yeah that's true You just said
Starting point is 00:20:45 You made money You had three shows Four shows Out of the country Out of the state Girlfriend Boo Wait which one
Starting point is 00:20:55 Was the better smooch This is a good question Um First And I want to know Timing Cause like if the first Yeah like which one
Starting point is 00:21:01 Did you go uphill Or downhill you know maybe the first one but the first one was like a little bit more like smoochy demure about it yeah like kind of like a dainty smooch like a princess like a sleeping beauty laying in the bed smooch no so they were just different different category different uh yeah they were different also i feel like the first one's breath was better the second one's breath was not that good Oh, that's kind of huge.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Bro, you a PSA. Tell these people. Everybody. Everybody need gum. Even if you don't think you need. Take the gum. Always carry around gum. Or a mint.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Also, you need to be flossing every day. Every damn day. Get in the back. Because sometimes the food is in the back and that's what we smelling. Yeah. Just get it. And you know what? I flossed and brushed for these ladies.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Thank you. No mess. No mess. No mess. I just think, I don't know what's going on. But, you know, plus it's getting warm out. Just like everybody's breath is hot. I'm assuming your breath hot and your car is hot
Starting point is 00:22:00 and your house is hot ass is hot everybody do it if you were like oh I don't smell you do just assume that you do take the extra precaution why not everybody smells everybody I'd rather you think you smell and then you course correct then you just think you don't
Starting point is 00:22:16 smell yeah fix it Jesus unless you you know using clinicals 98 hours there's the ad yeah I live by it I live by it. If y'all want to, you know, support a young black business
Starting point is 00:22:32 and go on my page and... You selling duff for your basketball team? Like and comment on the SpawnCon. Go and do it. Yeah, go like and comment on everything. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because we got to get the numbers up. Subscribe.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Retweet. Retweet. Subscribe. YouTube. Smash that like button. Right here. Smash that like button right here. molly what the hell's your mess you're up in here what's up um i have a lot of messes all the time
Starting point is 00:23:04 um i've had a lot of like mishaps where i've fallen a lot lately like i'm the actual mess not i don't count you told me about oh yes yeah okay i don't know if it's because i've been like a server at a restaurant for like i didn't serve for like i served i served for 12 years at that vietnamesean restaurant yeah i think like going out to dinner with big parties is so messy especially if someone's not gonna take the reins like take the reins and be like okay like splitting a check when you're in your 30s it doesn't matter if you have no money or a little money or a lot of money if you're going out to dinner you should have enough money to pay for whatever right yes if you split a check
Starting point is 00:23:51 at the table social suicide wait wait how many much anxiety wait how many times you split okay i feel like if we split in half and half that's totally if you're like half is easy hey here's three cars it's like you know four hundred dollar tab you're like yeah can you split it equally yeah yeah yeah but when you get down to like bachelorette party and they're like yeah well i'm gonna buy the bride's drinks and i'm gonna get the first appetizer of the mot sticks but Susie's it's like shut the fuck up yeah that just you and Susie just split it in half and figure it out for me yeah fuck you fuck Susie this poor server is first of all having to deal with your ass just put down a card we're all adults we all want the points and it's Venmo it's sell yeah it's
Starting point is 00:24:35 cash it's I'll get you next time yeah you get me next time it makes me so it's actually one of the things that makes me so angry all the time I actually avoid going out to dinners with larger like more than six or seven people i agree you should and also stop going to dinner with people you don't know yeah i don't these groups of people you're a friend of a friend you're you're a plus one that's when the we splitting it six ways how it's like i don't know those hoes at the end we haven't even spoke right so yeah no i'm not putting my car down because if you don't give me my bimo right now right now now i'm running you down right now now now i'm how i'm in the game that i don't ever i never wanted to play i didn't sign up before yeah how many people
Starting point is 00:25:14 How many people is too many people to go to a dinner? I'd say we're pushing it at six. No, no, no. We're pushing it at four. I think six is the max. Six is the max. Six is terrible. I think six is the max and we're putting down three cards and then you just got to Venmo one person.
Starting point is 00:25:31 If we're doing the math that way. Okay. I like that. Okay. I can get down with that, but I also think that no. One person just puts down. I'm like, no. Yes. I agree with you. One person put the card down and then you just got to pay what you would you but then the people that are like i'm trying to do the drinks and i'm gonna get there
Starting point is 00:25:47 and it's like no girl just pay for all i like for now on and i need to put my foot down from now on i'm just gonna be like hey i'm happy to put my card down we're gonna split it equally six ways i don't care if you got if you didn't eat any of the appetizers it's not about that just just we're splitting we decided to go to dinner together we got to do this yeah we pay for dinner yeah yeah that's we're we're in the family we're by law we're splitting yeah when you're here your family yes absolutely but also i'm gonna put it out there hey y'all people who don't want a venmo on the spot yeah you can't come to dinner no you can't i do i don't want to wait wake up in the middle or not like oh this bitch hasn't been on me we were right there what we're all we
Starting point is 00:26:31 everybody can literally touch each other give me my fucking science give me my shit give me my money just you just gotta pull the venmo up and be like scanning that's me marie now you know sometimes you'd be like ah hold on and then you've been more than late but you won't see me you're gonna see me i think good friends that's different no oh okay there's a mystery no no not her it's everybody it's it's not just it's not just her it's just people who are like oh yeah no no it's it's literally the people who are like yeah i'm gonna do it and then something you talk to them and then they forget and then we in the car and then we get to the house and then you two weeks later like hey didn't we go to dinner and now i'll be like that sometimes no they wait so long
Starting point is 00:27:18 then you're at the next dinner yeah and you're like right yeah well then don't put your card i ain't know what marie i won't be marie i don't want to feel petty and be like hey man did we have a steak dinner two weeks ago yeah yeah we have friends that will message you and be like you're and that's the way it should be no shame the request yeah we know plenty of people who do that hey i did you did you have to pay why now i gotta now i'm putting the card out and request you no i gotta do something at the end you gotta do something at least you could do it so y'all want your money or not because if the person is not if the person is notorious for not sending your money see but this is why people are i think because there's people like her like well if
Starting point is 00:28:05 you want your money so bad you gotta request no i'm saying you can request it at the tip like if you don't get your money by the next day i feel like you could request it that day so you're just gonna willingly be like yeah oh wait so now i gotta do long division and math and shit and put my card down if we at the table but you know if you want your money there you're not trying to chase nobody down request it at the table i just think we're already doing the tip we're dealing with a lot over here we gotta sign we gotta do math like grow up bimbo immediately how much is 59-16? If I forget and you forget,
Starting point is 00:28:38 I get you in the next one. The problem is here. This is the problem. Dangerous. This is the issue. Sometimes you can't be mad. I just feel like it gives me so much
Starting point is 00:28:54 anxiety. Which part makes you anxious? Having the server be like, okay, what are we doing? Get the table. Get out of here. It's already included if it's six of y'all sitting there. Yeah, and I'm dodging those dinners like bullets. You should.
Starting point is 00:29:10 You should. Yeah, I'm like, I'll need two drinks after. If it's six people, you got to do it at the house. I'm sorry. If it's that many people, go home. Do it at home. You ain't got to worry about tips or whatever or somebody didn't bring the water.
Starting point is 00:29:25 You got to do it at the house. You got to host. I agree. Nobody should be going to restaurants with a 10 top. Nope. A 10 top? No, that's two fives. it happens
Starting point is 00:29:34 or 5-2 exactly you gotta do if you do prefix prefix prefix it up and the whole time
Starting point is 00:29:39 I had a temp top in my pass I'm over here and I'm worried about not being able to see I'm like well we came to this dinner
Starting point is 00:29:44 I'm not even talking to the person that I wanted to come see because you know people get weird about sitting in the middle of the table because they need to be
Starting point is 00:29:50 sitting I don't want to be on the edge I don't want to be out of the bathroom I go you know I'll lay under the table I'll just lay under the table
Starting point is 00:29:55 yeah I'll lay under the table I'm with you Molly yeah I just you're not wrong did something like this recently let's all just get richer friends who will put their car down no problem no tosses let's let's do that no let's all just know that let's get friends with way more what happened to
Starting point is 00:30:14 the if you're here we're family what happened to that yeah my family don't make me pay tables have turned on me no i'm with you molly no no no no because i also then as the empath i hear the friend who's always paying. Yeah, it's just crazy. I put my card down and these people never ever even try to pay. You can't even be
Starting point is 00:30:42 nice to people. Now they're in the habit of everybody assuming, well, they got money, so they're going to pay. No, no, no, no. I don't want to do that either. Nobody wants to take past the baton on and be like, you know what? I got it. I think that most of this
Starting point is 00:30:58 feeling that I have of this anger. It's a recession. it's a recession totally but i also just feel i think from being a server and like seeing it happen with like in front of my face and i just want to be like put all their heads and knock them together and be like what's happening you give me your card i will literally do the math and then do envenmo one time one time i was serving like a six stop and i think it was before restaurants like it was like 10 years ago for restaurants like over six we'll do 20 so i was like so busy and i i just said to them i'm like i am really busy and i i can't divide this up. So what you're
Starting point is 00:31:32 going to do is, one of you should just put your card down and then Venmo request. It was a bachelorette party. And they're like, oh my god, that's like such a great idea. And you're like, y'all are so stupid. I want to end my life. Well, I feel like you can have a group, a friend group that's all
Starting point is 00:31:48 type B personalities. You've got to have one person to be like, actually. Well, guess what? I'm a type B. But when I have to be an A, I sack up and be an A. Yeah, but that's because you're with so many Bs that you're like, I'm not. You're the You're the top B. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:02 You're the hippie in charge. You are top B, Molly. You are top. You're not a bottom B. You're a top B. Molly, you're a top B. That's the kindest thing anyone's ever said. That's a top B.
Starting point is 00:32:14 I'm seeing myself. I think I'm going to look in the mirror later and go, top B. Top B. Top B. Yeah. Look in the mirror. Top B, baby. Top B.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Yeah. I do love, I have a very close group of friends that they don't ever do what I just said. So thank God for them. they're the they're my they're my type a's yeah but i think the longer you're friends with somebody you you know who you can and can't eat with you know what i mean yeah well it's friends that you like go out to eat with regularly like one like oh that's yeah that's those those are those are you got this that's your incubator of good peeps well no the thing is is that yeah i want to go out with everybody what no thank you marie i want to go out i can know i can trust you me and you
Starting point is 00:32:57 me you and me like they're after three i don't want to do it because it's like what we have that chemistry it's not going to transfer over because now there's other people who you're close with but you're not that close with so you're like hey i'm i might not be in a rush you want an incubator because it's like that person got money so it's like you know and now i'm overseeing because i'm like oh god hey yeah a lot of times i'd be putting my car down and i'm like why did i that was stupid that was really dumb I need to follow everybody else too
Starting point is 00:33:26 I need to also I need to be more I need to hold back a little more but you're a bottom B I thought she was a tummy and a top B I'm a top B
Starting point is 00:33:35 I'm a top B you're a bird you're a verse B yes I'm verse thank you so much yeah you guys have more matches
Starting point is 00:33:45 do we do more yeah you have another match just one but I don't know if you guys will like it why because you're girly what is that supposed to mean
Starting point is 00:33:53 I'm just fucking with you. Okay. No. Okay. I have something against like, what's going on with our generation of like celebrity, like high, cool kids doing this.
Starting point is 00:34:06 What's that? Exactly. Taking photos and they're like. Is the mouth open? Yeah. They just do those faces. I'm like, can you give me just one little smile instead?
Starting point is 00:34:15 Oh, you said smiling is out. No, no, no, no. What is this? It's like. Oh, I see. Like, what is that? What is it? I need to see.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Yeah, show me, show me. Like, it's like, like they do like, like there'll be a group of friends in there. The 0.5? No, not 0.5. It's like, they don't do, they're like, they look pained or something. It's painful right now.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Like the models, like models. Let's all make that face. Yeah, like. And it's just like, maybe I don't like it because I can't do it. Yeah, I don't. that's not so bad but it's like i don't know like in magazines they're like so what you want the photos to look like you want them to be like more cheery like no that's cheesy
Starting point is 00:35:04 we can't do that that's i every time i'm be smiling and cheesing and it's not it's just we cheesing in the phone and i look so corny like it looks like oh you're so happy to be here yeah you gotta not look pressed all right so you got to be a little cool i don't know how to do that i know we're just happy i mean gen z just takes pictures they just look and when i do when my cousins we went on a trip and my cousins had like they're all like cool like artists like some in college and they have like you know polarizing and they're like we got i want to take some photos and i did it and we all got them back and i'm not kidding we were
Starting point is 00:35:45 tears they look so bad you don't have to show us Molly but I feel like you're good at photos like you you don't look corny but you do look like well I think respectfully to myself I think I am a little bit corny
Starting point is 00:36:00 oh it's corny mess I feel like you gotta be a little bit corny to be like I think I'm pretty corny or like cornish corny corny What do you mean corny? When you say corny, what you mean by that?
Starting point is 00:36:15 Okay, so like, okay, I am respectfully, this is not me talking down on myself. I'm a bit corny. I'm a smidge of cringe. And it's because I'm very transparent. I'm very honest. Me and Marie will be out and I'll see somebody from TikTok. Oh my God, I love you.
Starting point is 00:36:33 And Marie's like, girl, we all celebrities in here. Don't act like you ain't never been around people who you follow. Like you don't even need to let them know that you're following them. But I'm like, people do that to us. And it's nice. It is nice. People are putting their work out. I'm not above being a fan because I do be fanning.
Starting point is 00:36:54 For a TikToker, though. If they're really funny. I just, I feel like the instant that you talking about, it was just like, girl, it was like a kid. It was like, I don't remember exactly who it was, but. Darn it. Aaliyah Mace. Aaliyah Mace, she's dope. She's so cool.
Starting point is 00:37:10 I like her music. like she's oh i was gonna finish my thought but i don't know how it's gonna be received i mean marie you when do you ever hold back sister well she wasn't very nice when you approached her and said she wasn't and that was like well why would you of all the people to fangirl for hey the way you respond to me being nice to you has nothing to do with me i felt i didn't feel no type of way i said well that's how she was i i can still be like i like her stuff i I won't go up to her again, but I don't have a problem being like,
Starting point is 00:37:44 especially if you're beautiful, you're black, whatever I'm gay. I love your stuff. Of course. It's more people coming up to us, telling us how amazing we are. I agree.
Starting point is 00:37:55 It's like, Marie, you're talking to me. It wasn't the right setting. It wasn't the right person. I just feel like for me, it was like, girl,
Starting point is 00:38:02 why would you do that? Like I received that. Sure. I, people come up to me. Okay. They come up to us all the time. I listen to your podcast or, you know, the other day I was at the gym and my card got declined.
Starting point is 00:38:16 No, no, no, no. My card got declined at the front desk. I was trying to like change my, the card that they had on file. So the card got declined and the girl was like, oh my God, I love, I love mess. And I said, well, girl, remember me different. Yeah, because I am a mess right now. But I love, yes, if you're a fan of something and you see the person acknowledgement, acknowledgement.
Starting point is 00:38:38 I appreciate it. I always, I'm always grateful for it, but I don't know. We was at, it just was weird. It was a, it was actually a party.
Starting point is 00:38:44 It was, yeah. And everybody did seem like they were too cool. You popped the cool bubble. I did. And you went to reality bubble. I did. I did,
Starting point is 00:38:52 but that's, that's corny. That's corny. And so I'll do that. Yeah. So what about you? Do you have anything? I think I'm just corny.
Starting point is 00:38:58 Cause like, I just like smiling in pictures. I just smile. I go, I don't know what to do with my face or my body in photos. no you always look so good yeah but i want to smile because i'm like when i try to look serious or bored yeah but i don't want to be smiling in all of my photos it's not about it's just easier i'm like i'm like my face will look good and my teeth are white so what do i do
Starting point is 00:39:21 molly you gotta look bored you gotta be like let me see you look oh no you gotta be like molly i think no you're not selling it babe nothing looks normal unless i smile i can't be like well don't do nothing don't do nothing with your face yeah yeah yeah like if it's blank expression yeah does this that wasn't blank okay okay you see it's still not black yeah now it's giving your hr she was a fairy yeah yeah no i'll work on it maybe like look in the mirror and like do like a session marie when you smile you light up the room you light up the photos you you're good for the group when you're smiling you make everybody look like they're smiling and so you should always smile that's and you have a smile that also looks sexy
Starting point is 00:40:07 it's a sexy it's a smile so but it's me no no that's not it sydney that's you are my most photogenic friend i so in every photo sydney's gonna look good no that's a lie let me pull out and that's i'm glad that you said that bitch because i you know it was a mess i did something with a with a brand and in one of the decks they posted a picture of me doing comedy with a fucking top hat on no and mid mid sentence bitch mid sentence you know in a basement hole in the wall it was like when i first started comment where did you dig this up what what graveyard of google images were you wearing a top hat we were doing a bit or was it a fashion thing we're going through something i want to see if i google you where that photo pops up it's not on the first page
Starting point is 00:40:57 it's not on the second page it's got to be 20 it's got to be somebody wants somebody wanted to shame you that's who you were booking you wanted to get a goofy bitch and then i came up full glam done up red hair like hey boys hey girls and it's like maybe that's where's the top hat lady. Yes, ma'am. Oh my God, that's amazing. You know what? You take bold fashion choices
Starting point is 00:41:24 and, you know, five years ahead, you're going to be looking like a goober. I'm scrolling and I don't see the hat. Oh, there it is. There it is. Oh my God, let me see it. Oh, there it is. I'm really, really ready to see it.
Starting point is 00:41:38 New York Comedy Club. It's on the first page. You got to talk to New York Comedy Club, sis. That's the one that they're using? That's the photo they have of you on their website. You know what? I want to work at that place. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Molly. I love you. No. I love you. That is bad. Were you like, She said, I did it my way.
Starting point is 00:42:09 Oh my God. That just made my entire day. No girl I know the sun did But that photo did I was in the Zoom Like do y'all hate me Who picked this
Starting point is 00:42:19 Whoever Whoever picked this My biggest What Zoom No I don't You look like when No I don't Abby Jacobson
Starting point is 00:42:26 In Broad City When she goes And she turns in the bell And she gets blackout drunk She goes Into the bar And she's like Hey look at you girl
Starting point is 00:42:33 You know Oh you know I just restarted Watching Broad City again That's a good reference Yes Thanks Molly No problem
Starting point is 00:42:39 That's exactly The fucking look I was looking for Thank you I saw that And I said got it hey again you took a fashion choice you probably looked amazing that night you probably looked so cool but like now you know a couple years later a couple years later
Starting point is 00:42:54 you didn't bomb the look the way marie fell out yes i did no no she's never laughing from the good of her heart it's the shade of her heart that's where she wasn't yesterday well Because the hat is tilted back so the bang is prominently featured. It's not pulled. It's like... You know when you... It's like this.
Starting point is 00:43:20 You know when you pop the hood of a truck, of a car and you gotta put that little stick to keep the hood up? That's what the hat... That's so funny. I had very straight bangs and I just wanted to make sure
Starting point is 00:43:30 I didn't fuck up the bangs. Hey, I think you look beautiful without a doubt. Again, different times. Without a doubt. I think that after... I don't know, like, 10 years certain photos need to just fall off the internet because let's talk about it i'm paying for
Starting point is 00:43:46 all this extra storage for iCloud and the cloud is full what's the storage on google that these photos just never go no it's unlimited friend you know what i'm saying every time you go on google it's more it's like 200 million billion pages and it might not be on our phone but it's and you know what's not coming up the good photos that i'll be posting to myself on my own page it's like why isn't that it is weird photo is so tragic my brother goes let me see it i think you need to let me see it all right let's see and the and the problem is is that like i'll be kicking with these photographers and we having a good time and then the shit that that get posted it's like so it's clear that you're not fucking with me it is pretty wild you're not fucking with me because
Starting point is 00:44:30 there's no way that you you posted that you gave that there's some photos that you just delete just delete them they don't need to be in the mix because you know what somebody who doesn't care for me that much is gonna be that that actually is the photo i like yeah okay this is a photo of me in college and it's so bad that's the one that they put on your wikipedia it's your wikipedia oh my god that looks like i'm molly oh my god it's not even in hd molly i know do i yeah can Can I go in there and change it? I think you guys, don't you edit Wikipedia yourself? Like the people do.
Starting point is 00:45:09 Do I really? No, tell your people to do it. Yeah, tell your people. You got a team? Yeah. Oh. Tell the team to do it. I did.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Why? You got to remember the team. Oh, my God. I look like I'm in the field. Anyway, it's bad. That was pretty good. Molly, you know what? You're not wrong about that.
Starting point is 00:45:28 That was pretty awful. Yeah, and you know, that's pretty vulnerable to me. so thanks for listening we're looking we're keeping it so real yeah I think we have some messages
Starting point is 00:45:54 we'll go through that oh yes and then we'll get up on out of here okay wow they
Starting point is 00:46:02 okay breakup mess honestly all of this is complete mess I live in LA that is mess I'm 31
Starting point is 00:46:11 it's not mess but it's on it's on the cusp I recently got broken up with again from a man I was dating for two and a half years
Starting point is 00:46:19 he's white 10 years older than me mess mess mess mess we don't need more mess
Starting point is 00:46:25 yes we worked in the same place nightlife bitch you really laying it on thick and we are both in entertainment industry god damn i think working in the same place kept us together longer than it should have oh were y'all roommates because that's the only way that would make sense that or my
Starting point is 00:46:42 anxious attachment style we have some moral differences i.e he doesn't believe in white privilege what how do you not believe in the thing that's actually working for you in your cheat code yeah but also the sex was the best i'd ever experienced you know what listen i bet it won't be though consistently consistently unfortunately he has some drug problems coke so how is the dick great if it's all coked up it feels like it could be a lot of limping going on a lot of limp dick yeah he wasn't wrong one yeah well you just did it all especially i'm asking the wrong one you well because i don't know i was just joking because i said i know about that okay that he refuses to confront this caused a lot of hurt in our relationship of course i poured into him
Starting point is 00:47:31 completely i truly did love him i believe i'm a huge part of the reason for his success in acting i was there for him through a lot we are both dog people he had two dogs when we first started dating i was there for him physically emotionally and financially through both of them being put to sleep oh man three weeks ago before he broke up with me again he adopted a puppy oh since he was on set for 12 hours a day during his most recent project. I was taking care of the puppy every day. Of course, I grew
Starting point is 00:48:03 attached. When we broke up, he said I could have a relationship with the puppy, but that we would talk about it. But we hadn't spoken since. Now I am dumped and puppy-less. Puppy-less. Don't get another puppy. No. It sounds like she was
Starting point is 00:48:19 taking care of more than one dog. Ooh. Okay. Is it mess that I'm jumping through hoops to get a ESA letter to have my own puppy? I need the letter to have a dog in my apartment. I've been in therapy weekly for years, but I truly believe only a puppy can get me through this. My eyes twitching for this one. Also, I would like y'all to know I've been listening to old episodes to get me through this hard time. Y'all have helped curb my loneliness and depression.
Starting point is 00:48:52 oh baby girl thank you for being there for me attach your pics of us please don't share i think it only helps for context sincerely heartbroken in la oh she's so cute you sound lovely and you sound trapped you are so beautiful girl it's the best sex of your life you are so it feels like you're not having enough sex you deserve the world you're not having enough sex see what i'm seeing right i'm like you live in what i said y'all are gonna be like stand up yeah Am I allowed to see? Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:22 Well, she told me not to share. I'm showing it to you. I know, that's why I don't want to be rude. Yeah. Molly, after you see the... You are stunning, mate. Stunning. You're gorgeous.
Starting point is 00:49:35 You're going to be just fine. You are going to be... You're beautiful. I mean, he kind of looks like the wolf from Twilight. But he ain't. He ain't. Oh, he ain't. He is not a wolf.
Starting point is 00:49:46 He's a dog. Exactly. That's what he said. No, my heart goes out to you, buddy. Babe, you live in L.A. You know how many people got dogs? You can get somebody who got a dog who ain't white. Probably somebody your color.
Starting point is 00:50:00 But honestly, you don't have to do that. There's love everywhere. But there's so many people with dogs in L.A. You walk outside. You go to the dog park if you really want a man with a dog. She didn't say she wants a man. She said she wants a dog. But she wants a puppy.
Starting point is 00:50:16 she said I feel like a puppy would help get me through this hard time only a puppy I truly believe only a puppy can get me through this she's been hanging out with the dog for 12 hours you know what you gotta do you gotta find that dog in you and I know you can
Starting point is 00:50:32 but also you could just foster you don't have to adopt just foster foster is such a better option as you have the puppy blues you don't need a puppy and you don't want one damn Becca got them two dogs but it seemed like she got a lot of time on her hands, and that's why she wants to be with a puppy. It don't matter. It's hard.
Starting point is 00:50:49 Girl, get a cat. Get a cat. Get a cat. I feel allergic. Get a beta bitch. I can't hang out at people's houses with cats. Oh, sorry. I lose and die. I, like, die inside. You die. Like, I can't breathe.
Starting point is 00:51:04 I can, but... You're allergic to cats. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm sure I'd like more if they didn't. And I also think they sense fear. They do. I think they want me dead. But back to you. Join a book club Listen Join a book club
Starting point is 00:51:21 That's good Try to really hang out With your friends right now You know I think you want a dog Because you've been Taking care of this dog For like three weeks
Starting point is 00:51:30 Or whatever I would say three weeks Before he broke up with me He adopted a puppy No you've been taking Care of a dog For two and a half years That man
Starting point is 00:51:37 He set you free And you will realize that later This puppy don't do coke Yeah This is a There's a lot of people Who don't do coke The puppy is sober
Starting point is 00:51:44 But I think you're going to want, like, girl, you're going to get busy, too. And then you're going to have this puppy at the house. And who's going to watch the puppy when you got stuff to do? Who's to say you're not going to have a 12-hour shift on set? So that's why I think, you know, yeah, maybe foster something. Think about the future. You're going to be busy. Nothing but love and light is coming your way because you're not out of this, you know, toxic relationship.
Starting point is 00:52:05 You don't need a puppy. Fostering is possible. Do you have friends with dogs? I think there's an app. Isn't there an app where you can like, you know, walk people's dogs or puppy sit or whatever like that? Do that. Do that. See how that goes and get paid for it. And, you know, if you after, you know, six months, you're like, oh, I think I still I think I still want this and I'm capable and I have time. Then maybe. My sister's heartbroken in L.A. and you saying, girl, become a dog walker.
Starting point is 00:52:32 No, no, no. Don't be doing that. I do think that it's about to be spring and summer in L.A. and you're going to have a good time. it's been spring and summer the whole time there yeah that's true but don't be a shut in make sure you get out and socialize
