Starting point is 00:00:00 you want to watch the episode oh of course you do so click the link in the episode description you're listening to mess i would have never said that shit welcome to mess we've already started and i love this this is this is immaculate i'm so we got podcast royalty in the building we really do let's really just i know people do this when they come to your pod and you go to other people but it's like you were one of the first podcasts i was listening to you bought the first mic yeah it's me that got all you niggas buying short today you're an influencer for real yeah sure hold on now it's sure it's usually sure it's usually sure yeah we really
Starting point is 00:00:51 started uh the way for a lot of people what does it feel like to um be the person who invented podcasts well i think it's pretty freeing because i don't have all the pressure that it seems everybody else has like all of these expectations they have for themselves and their numbers and all this because we were the first to like really be popular like that especially in like black spaces it's like when you when you set the wave you don't really pay attention to because everybody else is trying to do what you've done she's an innovator first black podcast yes it is that's a bit much but you know how hard it is to impress black people oh yeah that many yeah yeah there is that i mean it really did start you know it birthed a lot of great shows um she said all you bitches
Starting point is 00:01:42 This is her sons, daughters and sons. And you're all very welcome. I mean, because when we started, the podcast app did not even come on your phone. You had to go to the app store and search podcasts and download it. You had to do the work. Yeah. You had to do the work. You had to really want to listen to a podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:59 There was no clips. Yeah. I think, no, what? Because it was a podcast, an audio show. Yeah. And so the read still is audio only. It is a podcast. It is not.
Starting point is 00:02:10 It doesn't do video at all. It is not a YouTube channel like everybody else's show. No, come on now. You're dragging us on a YouTube. I'm talking about me, too. Crystal Couch is on video. You were just on my show, Sydney. Okay, now she...
Starting point is 00:02:22 Use your inside voice while you're here. I'm yelling at you. Use your outside voice inside. That's right. Thank you. Mess. So, but yeah, it's been... That show is 13 years old now.
Starting point is 00:02:36 13 years. It's a child. The read is 13, yeah. It's a teenager. sometimes people be like oh I started listening to y'all in middle school and now I just
Starting point is 00:02:43 finished grad school and I'm like what the fuck are you talking about you've been a part of so many people's lives like they can pinpoint what was going on
Starting point is 00:02:51 in their life and during certain episodes and that's beautiful it is it really is it's an honor I feel when I really think
Starting point is 00:02:59 about the success of the show I get kind of overwhelmed so I don't really spend a lot of time thinking about just how huge and impactful
Starting point is 00:03:07 it has been yeah but thank you i receive all that mama tina invited you to like for christmas you know that's my amy yes so wait tina invited you to the house well now you know i've signed certain documents so i can't say too much i can't say too much but too much it's a yes or no sis what did you i know she put her fingers in your scalp no not to no she i have not been invited to her home no okay okay so we're the same i haven't been invited to the home we're the same She did your hair, too? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Okay. Manifestation. So what I'm saying is... Your drops have touched the scalp. Oh, nice, nice, nice. Same thing. Not directly, but she did do my hair, kind of, if you squint. Dwayne had, like, the sacred packet, and I took a little bit that was at the end that
Starting point is 00:03:56 he didn't take, and I hid it. So, Mamatina also touched your scalp as well. We're the same. The three of us have all done the same thing. Look at us, Destiny's children. Destiny's children. destiny's teenagers oh yeah girl that's us wow and the way y'all just immediately locked in y'all knew y'all was gonna do that good well i screamed girl at least three times and it really
Starting point is 00:04:21 is effective yeah i guess um because i mean we we were talking about you know the new life that you have oh well sure podcasts do do that yeah and I have had that opportunity to just sort of grow up on the show and change the way we do things adjust the way we do things and then now with this new project Crystal's Couch having it just be something that is completely mine an independent venture that I really get to shape however I want and do what feels right and not necessarily be stuck in you know pop culture specifically so yeah it definitely gives you the freedom and flexibility to do that and i've been very fortunate to be so successful sound like you're trying to break us up yeah that's what i was like don't be getting no ideas
Starting point is 00:05:08 what's your venture about to be miss mama uh late night with marie foster why are you single no i mean our show is still going the read is still that is like my main thing that is my career that crystal's couch is more of like my passion project yes okay yes i almost said play thing but i take it more seriously than that the way i came up you had your turtleneck on and you was ready with your questions and you had the glasses on like this oh no no no you set yourself up for a lot of that though you really did what you did because give us the cliff notes well sydney came on the show first of all she brought you into it now why am i saying it you and amina because apparently y'all had an intervention for her
Starting point is 00:05:56 where somebody made shrimp scampi and then y'all fucked up her scampi experience before she could even get to eat it y'all was like bitch you're doing too much you're running around you're not drinking water oh we're taking care of you okay look at sydney now look at sydney now and now She's doing great. My sister's wet. Look at this. Whop, whop, whop. And it's water in there.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Look at her big ass. I didn't want to say that earlier, but that is huge. That's a child. Oh, my God. She claimed this on her toddler. Yes, I need it. She was right. I was doing too much.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Yeah. I was too dry. So she came on my show. I think she, because she knows I have this degree. And I did have on a turtleneck, to be fair. Yeah. And so I think she wasn't really expecting some mental health interventions. But I also didn't really try to do that.
Starting point is 00:06:45 It was just, you know, Sydney kind of assumes the worst and stuff like that. So she did that several times throughout our interview. And I was like, why do you keep jumping to the worst possible conclusion? Like, yeah, I'm going to get you to therapy. My sister's a pessimist, babe. That's a reason. You have never said that to me. Sydney, you always assume the worst.
Starting point is 00:07:02 even we were in here talking about which character of sex in the city we were she was like i'm a miranda why would you say that justice for miranda why is she the worst because the late in life lesbian is that why you're a miranda no oh i just i feel like she's not she's damn she's not a miranda i mean i agree i just one was wondering what your justification was like why would you say that to yourself because she she's like she wants to have fun but inside she's like rigid and you know by the books she works hard she don't like men like i'm like that's me you know sometimes the the outfits and the haircut like you know what she's making efforts you think you're rigid i am marie you always tell me we could go viral if i would stop holding back and stopping y'all
Starting point is 00:07:50 from saying yes but i think that part of that is fear and we were talking we were having this sort a conversation is here let me get my notes so i can my notepad so i can write yeah and i don't know you know i'm not her therapist so i don't know what exactly it is she's afraid of but a lot of people are afraid of the way they're perceived for sure and sydney admitted that on the show right sydney is that she's like i do not you know people criticizing me or having something to say about like my life talking shit about me or whatever like that would be devastating i'm like you do have to get to a point where other people's opinions can't have that much of an effect on you.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Write that down. If you listen, you have to write this down. I don't like the couch. Can I sit on that solo chair? I think y'all should actually wait. Did you come on the podcast? Are you trying to,
Starting point is 00:08:41 you trying to take my friend? You know, I'm trying to link up now. Remember how we just said five minutes ago, you'd be jumping to the weirdest, worst possible. This would actually not be worse because it's like big hair, big personalities.
Starting point is 00:08:52 these i don't give a fuck like it would actually you don't think you have a big personality because that's how you do the worm sober in a dress we saw you we saw you face down ass up at karaoke on the ground the only sober person in the room you were just drinking mocktails at your birthday party you got edible you didn't have no soju soju don't count no i didn't have soju i did have an edible the edible yes girl the edibles i'll be but i wasn't on the floor yeah california sober yeah yeah that's so easy to me california sober like that is the easiest thing to do it's much harder to give up weed than alcohol really sure yes sure truly yes because every dry january i've ever done i've smoked oh yeah yeah oh yeah
Starting point is 00:09:40 yeah and i'm not smoking right now but i'm eating edibles like skittles yeah i'm saying I quit smoking A few years Well COVID really changed A lot of things for me Sharing blunts The fact that I ever
Starting point is 00:09:54 Used to do that You ever get a blunt Back from somebody And the end is so wet That you Oh my god Bitches with a lip gloss I'm not
Starting point is 00:10:01 I'm sorry That's why I was never Really involved with that Like I don't understand that And cigarettes No the secret is You gotta put your fingers On the joint
Starting point is 00:10:09 And then you gotta Put your lips On your feet See I'm not doing all that I'm simply not The man with big lips Taught me that and i was like he didn't want one of them cute little holders i love them little pinchy holders
Starting point is 00:10:21 those are so cute i feel so classy like i would have gotten a lifeboat on a titanic you know what i mean right and it's just so people with nails can smoke roaches but they are great regardless people are so germ like germaphobes and i just don't understand because like i mean people would have their bags of cocaine and we're putting keys inside of that and then they're putting up their nose and then they're putting it dipping them back in and then we all using it it's like the cocaine is gonna clean everything dirty the cocaine is gonna clean everything if you if you if you ready to do cocaine then you ready to take a lot of risks well now back in the day there was nothing in it it was just pure i didn't even mean that
Starting point is 00:11:00 oh really i didn't know you met fentanyl yeah you're doing coke i feel like you you open to a lot of experiences other people's germs coming into your nasal passageway that don't even faze you man i saw a video of this lady she was like look she was it was like a um a reel of how coke destroyed her nose girl her nose went from like this oh yeah literally like the hole was so big it was a big hole yeah yeah oh no i don't know oh yeah it's bad i had a physical once and the doctor you know examining me asked about drugs cocaine and all that and i said i didn't do and he was like yeah i can tell you don't and i was like excuse me he was like you know it's his toy whatever membrane or septum it's some cartilage or something something that coke users it
Starting point is 00:11:54 deteriorates yeah and if you don't know it's full-on collapse like fully like wow it's something in there i was like damn so you asked that question just to see if people will lie Imagine you were like, yeah, I do coke. He'd be like, no, you didn't do that. You did coke. Once. He said, was it organic? You did not do cocaine, baby.
Starting point is 00:12:17 That was Johnson & Johnson. Damn, I wonder if they can check my nose and see. Like, does it grow back? I don't think so, but I really wouldn't know. Well, because it feels stronger now. Like, back then, it was thin. It was like paper, paper thin. Ooh, wow.
Starting point is 00:12:32 It felt like there was... Yeah, so maybe it does grow back. Maybe it does grow back. Oh, good. Because I had to rebuild, you know? The fact that you can feel the difference. Yeah, you've been doing your nose kegels? I love that season.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Marie. Yo, and I would tell you, my nose senses was like... You could be cooking something in another building and I could smell it. I was like, is that chicken teriyaki? Yes. Oh. Wow. Your nose was see-through.
Starting point is 00:12:55 That is really crazy. Your shit was just there. It was waxy as fuck. Your nose was see-through. Casper the Friendly Nose. That's what it was, yeah. When we were young. When we were young.
Starting point is 00:13:09 I don't know. Coke has always seemed like such a scary thing for me. Yeah. I did it once, and that was enough for me to know I never, ever wanted to do it again. I was, I was, we were drunk as hell. I mean, we had been drinking, smoking weed, of course. We was at a strip club in Atlanta, so we was doing all that. If you're not doing bumps in Atlanta, where are you doing that?
Starting point is 00:13:29 And so my friend was like, you want to try Coke for the first time? We went to the after party spot. She was like, you want to try Coke for the first time? I'm like, yeah, I'm going to do it with you. This is my homegirl. Nothing wrong with the Coke or anything. The problem was that within like five minutes, I felt completely sober. Like I had not been drinking, smoking, nothing all night long.
Starting point is 00:13:48 I was like, oh, this is a miracle drug. Like, what do you mean? Like, this medicine. How can it be that I'm completely? Right. Crystal, so you like liquor. that much you're that much of a drinker that you're like i don't want to do coke because that takes away from the feeling of drunk now how did you get there
Starting point is 00:14:04 well i'm not even done telling you what happened but i wasn't you know what the ears was open brain was closed that's what it was happy yeah okay so it made me feel no i was like this is incredible but you know then the next day i was like throwing up outside and felt terrible really sick because i had kept drinking and stuff thinking that because because i felt sober because of the coke so i really ended up doing way too much that night it could have ended very badly i'm very very grateful it did not but it was one of those situations where i was like i don't need to take anything that lies to me about how inebriated i am i need to know exactly how fucked up i am yeah so that's why i was like i don't know if coke does that to everybody but
Starting point is 00:14:51 i am super cool on coke and this is part of the dare community like i feel like this is an ad for dare right there that's just yeah that really pulls it in the kids need to know that that could happen to you so i think the kids know and don't care they don't give a oh yeah no no they're this generation is ready to die girl well actually a lot you're also drinking less than previous generation oh yeah the gen x is not drinking but that's because they vaping every fucking thing girl and drinks are expensive i mean you go in there for 20 23 dollars yeah is this as strong as a long island iced tea it is not right so why are we spending 23 dollars yeah and your little cartridges will last way longer than that but yeah they're not rationing out like the
Starting point is 00:15:35 cartridges to drink this is yeah no this is a recession and i mean and that's i'm sorry it's honestly great that they're not drinking it's pretty terrible for you well they're also microdosing ketamine so they're doing drugs yeah they're not sober sober right you know what i'm saying they're just not drinking alcohol like previous generations i'm sure they're way higher than me and my people were at that in like our early 20s or whatever yeah the weed is stronger because alcohol was way more accessible and i was you know in my 20s most of my 20s i was in oklahoma so how is that you can easily mess oklahoma i went i went back for my homegirls wedding eight or nine years ago took everybody out bought drinks for everybody it was like 45
Starting point is 00:16:25 dollars for everybody to have i said oh wow wait you bought a round of drinks from multiple rounds of drinks for like eight or nine people 45 and it was 45 tab you're telling a lie i'm not i'm not i'm not lying to you was it a cow either somebody was really looking out or them drinks they probably knew you one or two you oh no you said the podcast 13 years old nine years ago you got a key to the city i think i'm less famous than you think i am in oklahoma everywhere i don't believe that i really because what you think it was some black bartender no we were at some bar in oklahoma white people do not know who i am and they would be deeply ashamed if they did they don't want me claiming oklahoma i'm the antithesis of what oklahoma stands for
Starting point is 00:17:19 because i don't know if they know that word over there yeah we're doing bad as far as education that's why your tab was $45 they can't count can't read they said we're gonna use just the fingers we have and that's that they said you had this many yeah i said wow the cost of living difference is really profound because two drinks you might get two drinks in new york for 45 dollars no and that really depends on where you at no way because at the soho house yeah jumbo house right girl 28 for right yeah and they're adding the tip because they're like yeah we're not playing these games and they expect you to tip on top of that too because they don't that's why they don't tell you they just be like i was
Starting point is 00:18:11 out the other day and the service was bad but we went to pay and my friend was like what's the total and then like in little tiny yeah font it says gratuity is already included and it's like oh okay i don't mind like i actually love tipping but you do you're really good at it i i do i feel you know it's one of those things i was really raised to do that is worth keeping it's one of those lessons that i'm glad was taught to me um and but new york be doing a lot like what you mean it's 27 for one cocktail like this is rude is the tip not already in that it feels like you already feels like it is let's take you gotta pay tax yeah yeah that's 27 is baseline well how bad do you want this this mixed cocktail yeah not that bad not that bad how bad do you want you know
Starting point is 00:19:06 this old-fashioned right and so i mean especially i'm not opposed to it if we going out to a steakhouse or something you know let's celebrate have drinks whatever i'm not gonna be like oh no i'm not buying that but most of the time i'm taking a couple edibles before i leave the house anyway so i'm floating anyway baby i'm fucking chilling anyway what's your edible brand what's your strand love caminos love lost farms um what else do i hate the caminos container and i swore Oh, the Camino's container is a pain. It is a problem. Remember when we were in New Mexico and you were like, it took about three people to get it open.
Starting point is 00:19:40 We went to a restaurant. Oh, yeah. It's a pain in the ass. They were stabbing it with a knife. Everybody in the chef was trying to ratatouille and fillet the container. I said, once I get this open, I will never get this brand again. Yeah. If you close it wrong even just one time.
Starting point is 00:19:54 If it's off the track? Yes. If it's off the track, you could beat the hell out of that thing and the lid might not pop off. You could run it over with a car. at the same time I'm like this is good because children
Starting point is 00:20:05 shouldn't be able to get into these so I'm glad it's a challenge then I'm a child yeah we all are but then when you're
Starting point is 00:20:11 trying to get it open you seem like you got a bad habit a problem yeah I'm just giving heart you feel like a fiend
Starting point is 00:20:17 when you're like I'm like I just need to get I've been working on this for an hour I need my pineapple habanero gummy that sounds good
Starting point is 00:20:28 oh it's the best that is their best flavor combination they also did one for pride that's like a passion fruit oh well you heard so you have a little promo with them they're legit my favorite but i you know i go and and try different ones all the time um i like pro taps which are not gummy or candy at all it's just literally a little pill those are great i like the droppers oh really you like pink shirts and stuff i like heirloom they have a good one that i like um i like wild wild has good edibles well it's okay and something farms
Starting point is 00:21:02 lost farms lost farm yeah little little copper um so there's those and then there's some that are like starbursts lost farms kiva that brand kiva has the yeah it's even i think kiva owns lost farms or maybe it's the other way around but one so y'all making me want to get into the edible game like what's going on y'all promoting this i have to remind myself whether you do we like i'm always like is sydney sober sober or do she still smoke like i was never a smoker like that um and so i was always doing the hard stuff this is for what y'all talking about is for yeah like so i don't i remember doing edibles with sydney 10 years ago or however many years ago that was we was in that bodega okay busting down bacon egg and cheeses oh yeah that's another
Starting point is 00:21:47 reason why i can't have edibles because i'm gonna eat and then it's like bacon egg and cheese we've ever had sydney had to get another one i got another one for an hour and a half yeah yeah we were laughing we're just you stayed in the bodega we stayed there to eat yeah we pulled they had a little countertops never in my 14 years of living in this city have i ever eaten in a boat in a bodega we had a time down bodega we had a so then it's what kind of bodega is this for real it was it was definitely the meat was blessed it wasn't lincoln market the meat was blessed for sure the eggs was blessed it was halal okay yeah okay definitely halal wow yeah so you was zooted then if y'all ate it we were zooted inshallah
Starting point is 00:22:39 You think it was all about the planet? I think there was a surge. We were waiting for the surge. We were waiting for the surge. Oh, like a realty. Because wasn't it Halloween? Uber surge. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:48 It was a crazy surge. It's starting to come together now. It is. It's making sense because, yeah, them Uber and Lyft prices in the city on holidays. Especially now. Yeah. Oh, it's bad. Now with these snow mountains all over the place.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Oh, yeah. Oh, I will jump on the train so quick. I'm proud of you for that. I love the train. Me too. I'm trying to work on it. I'm not going to take it that far. I don't love the train, but I do enjoy the convenience of the train.
Starting point is 00:23:11 I love the train. I do. I think the train is, the MTA is, I mean, and of course we bitch about it, and rightfully so. But coming from a place that does not have anything near this efficient, I am just blown away that you can get anywhere in the city for $3. Say it out loud. I'm going to tell you what, it's not efficient. Okay. If you go, I mean, I'm sure you've traveled.
Starting point is 00:23:34 It's efficient compared to public transportation in any other city in this country. Well, London is pretty good. In this country. In this country. But you have to leave America to find better public transportation. London, Paris. Much better. I was in Tokyo.
Starting point is 00:23:48 First of all, they line up. Oh, yeah. No. They order leave. They about they shit. And the trains come on time. So you're trying to move? What's up?
Starting point is 00:23:57 And they don't eat. They don't do all that. They have cars just for women and children. love that they say hey get your nasty testosterone out of here i need to go to asia it's the i'm not that's a continent i've not been to i want to go to japan real bad but yes the public transportation in london and paris both way better especially because well last i don't know if it was the last time i went but when the air quality is bad in paris the train is free i don't know they might have ended that but when i went the air quality was bad like four out of
Starting point is 00:24:33 five days. And so the train was free. And I remember when the sky was orange in New York City. Yes! I think they doubled. They doubled the pay. When the fires were so bad that you legit couldn't go outside without a mask.
Starting point is 00:24:47 And the sky was fucking orange. I think the train was a hundred dollars. They needed more money to be underground. sydney do you have some message you wanted to share yeah uh somebody that i know was talking to a friend and the friend was like yeah i have this crush on this girl um this is not my mess this is overheard mess but basically they were like oh I like this girl on tiktok they're very beautiful like I'm very into that this is a lesbian and I'm like we've been going back and
Starting point is 00:25:38 forth in dms and I'm trying to figure out what like how am I going to ask her out on a date and so this person was finally was like well let me let me see this girl sends the page and immediately he was like this person is not real it's ai first of all the the girl was just too beautiful like it didn't look it didn't seem like a real person also the person that they were like oh i'm gonna slide in her dms it's like i don't think this you would be her type no shade the ai type no yeah you wouldn't be ai's type oh that's devastating and then but ai was writing back so it was like well obviously i'm their type but then it gets worse in the bio it said um ai so it says ai in the bio okay friend missed it or didn't want to see it because sometimes it'd be
Starting point is 00:26:35 a little bit of both perhaps that is mess now when you say the page is ai the person had video videos yeah i'm sure but if it's labeled ai like it's ai in the bio there's really no excuse artificial okay i intelligence da da da da so the person didn't didn't know that they were falling in love with ai or they did we are booked as a society because if you know you have a crush on ai i'm gonna have to ask you to call a therapist immediately like do that right now how do you feel about ai therapy chat gpt it is a problem it is don't say it's a problem say people should not do it we have to be against it i i i am against it okay but i don't like to say what people should or shouldn't do in a therapy context because most people reaching out to chat gpt
Starting point is 00:27:31 for therapy don't have real therapy accessible to them for whatever reason financial or whatever else may be the case so and some people don't realize they're using chat gbt as a therapist what you mean like they there's no friend they're not really right they're not cognizant of like i'm using this to help me to try to improve my life and and help me feel better they talk about it like it's a friend it's like you're actually using this because you want guidance so the only chat gbt that i ever use is on my laptop in the little box i don't sign in i don't pay for it i just ask a question a little free one a little free yeah you know a little amuse-bouche chat gpt um but you can get it to talk to you on an app yeah there are so many different apps
Starting point is 00:28:17 you there are so many different they are they are making it more and more complex but a lot of people use just the regular chat gpt to ask mental health related questions and stuff like that but i feel like so many people just like so many people and you know apart from you know we're not gonna have no water here in the next 30 years or whatever like the ai is not set up to help you with your mental health it's set up to it has enable you in its head right enable you and usually it will just reaffirm the problem is that therapists will challenge your fucked up beliefs chat gpt usually will not or you can keep talking to it however you want it to to train it how to talk to you human beings don't do that so the last time i used chat gbt was last week
Starting point is 00:29:06 and i got an email from this person who was trying to schedule some time to talk to me and the like literally 20 minutes before we were supposed to talk i got an email hey i can't meet with you let me know if you do this week later on in the week this is now the third or fourth time this person has done this to me wow oh no so okay i responded yeah hey this is now the third or fourth time the truth this has come up right so it seems like you got a lot going on over there let's you know figure all that out and then let's talk end of February or sometime in the near future I sent it off but after I sent it I was like well let me just check with chat and see if this is the right message I should have sent so I put in what she wrote and then
Starting point is 00:29:51 I put in what I wrote and chat GPT said yeah don't send that why don't send that like because because it sounded like I was being what's the word combative and I said well I already sent it and ChatGPT said
Starting point is 00:30:05 LOL you're good literally LOL you're good yeah they told me not to I said I did they were like
Starting point is 00:30:12 it's okay express yourself Marie this is what I was I was trying to say like we gotta I'm against it I am against it too
Starting point is 00:30:22 I am not in favor it's funny if you're like where can I find my man hilarious but like where the men's be at i think that's funny but asking it real questions is like people use it to post things on social media people do yeah people use it to write their captions do it before people use it to literally text their yeah that's what i heard about that some people are
Starting point is 00:30:46 using chat gbt to flirt i'm like oh no y'all gotta start reading books again this can't be they refuse girl they're using it to write to write papers to write cover letters oh yeah and Those papers are terrible, too. As somebody who actually can write, I can spot that bullshit every time. It's so bad. Damn. If you think ChatGPT is good at writing, you are not good at writing. Girl, people write.
Starting point is 00:31:08 But if you're not good at writing, I might as well let ChatGPT do it. This is what I'm saying. You think what ChatGPT is doing is good. But I feel like the students that are using it to write papers and stuff, their professors are putting their papers through a thing that tells them it's AI. I just finished my degree last year and we had the every time we uploaded something and you had to check a little box that acknowledged that somebody was going to use AI to an AI detector to see how much of this, if any of it was, you know, suspected to be AI. And it frequently would say, you know, 20, 30 percent, something like that. I think just based off, I mean, it's grad school.
Starting point is 00:31:47 I'm writing in a very professional way. So I think there's a certain threshold where professors are like, that's just, you know, you wrote that nicely. Yeah. But once it gets up to like the 70s, 80s or something, then it's like, you're using a few too many em dashes. I know what you are. Is it em dash? It's an em dash. Hey, Siri, what's an em dash?
Starting point is 00:32:09 Oh, my God. I was like, Marie, somebody tell us what an em dash is. What's an em dash? Help us. Oh, not y'all like to look at me. Yeah, help us. You know, it is what I thought. I didn't know
Starting point is 00:32:19 That's what that was called No but Chat GPT Do love a long dash What is this M dash I do dot dot dot I don't think I use
Starting point is 00:32:27 M dash I love doing the M dot dot I mean not the M dash I just M dot dot It's the ellipsis It's dot dot dot
Starting point is 00:32:33 Yeah Yeah Ellipsis yeah That means Isn't it like I'm thinking You're trailing off Yeah
Starting point is 00:32:40 Yes Yes I'll hit a comma Every sentence I'm taking a breath Right here Yeah But a dash
Starting point is 00:32:47 M dash So, yeah, we, all of our assignments were checked for AI and plagiarism, like, constantly. So, I'm familiar with that. But, again, it has to be, like, a high percentage of, like, girl, it, before my professors were, like. Okay, but what's worse, plagiarizing or using chat GBT to write your paper? I think they're equally bad. Well, I'm glad plagiarism hasn't gone anywhere. Because either way, you didn't write it.
Starting point is 00:33:14 Copy and paste. Either way, you didn't write it. And you know I've done that before, baby. So, yeah. Wee. Yeah. Some of the kids are still copying and pasting directly from Wikipedia, but they don't know how to format it to match the other text. So, you're just turning in stuff that's all these different fonts and shit.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Girl, I know you didn't write this because why is it in five different fonts? When I used to write papers for school, we used to make, you know how you can search the whole doc? Search the doc and then make all the periods bigger. To take up space? Yeah. And that would make the paper a little bit longer every time. I mean, you're not printing these out. No.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Oh, because your professor would be able to tell if it was a digital copy. They probably weren't looking that hard. I wasn't looking at my periods. Mine was. I mean, I told y'all the story about me in college, but yeah, it was just, I was, I was in a bind, Nate. And I literally, the first, my first hit for the paper I needed to write, I Googled like how to write a paper about and then they found a paper my first the first search you didn't even
Starting point is 00:34:18 go to like third page i was under emotional mental duress and i said i just need to get this motherfucking paper in and i i had maybe an hour and a half to spare what for 30 pages 30 30 pages a 30 page paper girl you was working on your thesis Sydney
Starting point is 00:34:44 it was for a final and I was in and I was in the untreated ADHD is really a bitch yes I was in my senior year girl
Starting point is 00:34:51 and I turned it in my professor was like I don't know like 67 or something like that I was like it's old ass I don't know what the fuck I'm saying you don't know what the
Starting point is 00:34:57 internet is yeah and I moved a couple words around and changed a couple things in the beginning Sydney that man has probably seen that paper so many times
Starting point is 00:35:04 he did he said that he said that but I thought that when I went to his room like because he was like meet me in my office at 8 p.m that's kind of late that's kind of late yeah i was like oh he want this yeah you know you want this and so i went there thinking he was gonna touch me and he oh it was a different type of touch yeah it was a touch to grab me and throw me out of school gonna touch me is the craziest so then how did this end girl what do you mean
Starting point is 00:35:31 how does this i've never heard the story oh they they dj'd jazzy jeff me out of the school they said you have you have 24 hours to get out yeah yeah this is for your final no mercy yeah well i was your senior year senior year so you i was so close i was so close to not graduating and so i was so close to not graduating anyway yeah they were like maybe if i maybe if they had more hope for me to graduate they probably could have fixed something but they did not damn now we can't see ourselves on this uh tv is that okay yes there's no signal okay okay great okay great that's good that's a tough lesson to learn damn was it well i mean you got kicked out of school wasn't it but i'm here but right you are here and you got a graduate degree you did and i was right here
Starting point is 00:36:18 literally same same yeah so what did grad school really do for me is the question what did my bachelors do for me that's a great title of the episode i want that as the title of episode ruin my credit uh so chrysal yeah you know you're here for for your mess what is it yes so what's your mess today so i didn't know if we were chilling because your people were working on the television or no they're fine it's still rolling okay well so my mess is not actually my mess it's secrets that i am holding that belong to friends of mine but now that this happened to more than one person i can talk about it publicly because right you know when it's just one person they're like damn bitch not you're telling my business but i have multiple friends who have chosen to terminate
Starting point is 00:37:08 their pregnancies without telling their husbands that they were ever pregnant oh yeah now why why are they not telling the husbands well because the husbands would love to have more kids but since they're the mothers they have to do all the real work and so they don't want no more kids but if they told the husband they were pregnant it wouldn't you know it would not be a like a let's have a conversation about whether to keep this it would very much be like now why are they telling you because i'm just saying like well you hear a mess well she don't saying no names i'm right i'm not saying no name this is multiple friends who have done this oh tons i'm sure tons of this feels like why did i get married i feel like a lot of married women
Starting point is 00:37:54 do this and they simply don't tell nobody because you're going to be greeted with a lot of judgment and shame but i don't see nothing wrong with it i don't see anything wrong with it if you know that man is going to try to pressure you into keeping a pregnancy anyway and you are you know for a fact you don't want to have another baby this is after having multiple children already This is after having multiple children. So, why don't you just get, like, have them go in there, yank it out, and just take the whole thing out. Throw the uterus away? Yeah, just yank it out.
Starting point is 00:38:22 Like, I mean. Get the uterus out. Kobe, like, that's what I'm doing. Well, the girls might not want to go into early menopause, you know, in their 30s. Do you want to go early menopause, or do you want to have another, be pressured gun to head, so you having my baby again and again and again and again? Well, they don't know. so that's the thing even if you did want
Starting point is 00:38:42 to have a hysterectomy who's to say your husband would be on board with it like I don't know my body my choice now you got recovery from a hysterectomy
Starting point is 00:38:49 is gonna be a little not me thinking you're gonna take it out and then be like going to the club right you gotta expect me and the next thing
Starting point is 00:38:58 you like I'm looking for a hose like that no it's seven people on Friday it's nine to five degrees you laying down for a while
Starting point is 00:39:06 right I ain't got no uterus said no uterus ain't got me you know like no i ain't got no uterus and no uterus ain't got me well i really think it ends up being a bigger conversation of like what kind of men do we have in this society where so many wives feel like they can't tell the truth about you know their sexual autonomy reproductive choices let's talk about it right i mean because on tiktok okay and on on x and on instagram it's a lot of women who are married and have children and they talking about their single moms in the marriage yes and it's like yeah i saw something the other day
Starting point is 00:39:48 an article i read the headline it said um let me see i think i screenshot it well while she's saying that i think that first of all it's it's so much mess in it because it's like why are you coming to the internet of like gloating about your your man who don't do nothing and then so are you telling us because you just want to say something or do you want us to engage because now we're going to engage drag him yeah now you got to stand up for this person that you gave to the wolves yeah the drag right and you're going to still be in the same situation this is a lot it's a lot of mess yeah it's too much mess it is a problem if you're going to complain about this man and then get mad at us when we say wow this is shit behavior like yeah and you should
Starting point is 00:40:32 leave him but a lot of women expect that they'll be able to complain about their men and then the other one will just say oh yeah girl mine too he this this this this this like you expect that other women will also just commiserate and then you'll all go back to your miserable lies like miserable lies my mother was definitely one of those women who you know is married and husband is right there in the home yet you are a single parent effectively because the actual work of raising these kids that nigga was very checked out and it i mean you could even have like the most supportive best husband or male partner in the world and still as the person who has to grow and give birth to this baby it's not gonna be equal like it's not gonna be 50 50 especially
Starting point is 00:41:17 when they're very small you by default you're gonna end up doing so much work it's a huge sacrifice for you so i'm all for you as the person who has to be pregnant making that decision my i don't so i'm it's not like a judgment of the women it's more of a judgment of the men because why does she feel like she can't talk to you about this but it's also a judgment on her because it's like why are you with somebody that you can't communicate that's a good question like transparency. Did y'all see the game clip? The game and Evelyn and Evelyn's daughter? Oh my god. Jesus, it's a fire.
Starting point is 00:41:52 That actually, that was really depressing. For a backstory, they were on a podcast together? No, they have a podcast. Evelyn Lozada and her daughter Shanice Lozada. It's their podcast. That's messing itself.
Starting point is 00:42:07 They had the game on and he has a baby with the daughter. And he said, I told you before we got together that I don't change diapers. and he was like and he was like gloating that he's never changed a diaper
Starting point is 00:42:19 in the baby's life but didn't Nelly say that too no Nelly said that to Ashanti and they're together and they're married and she gave him a baby
Starting point is 00:42:26 yeah and he straight up asked Shanice he was like what you thought my mind was gonna change when the baby got here and she was like
Starting point is 00:42:33 yeah I guess I did and Evelyn is cackling and Evelyn's cackling in the corner just cackling damn you were set up to fail because yikes
Starting point is 00:42:40 and when Lizard is your mother it wasn't gonna end well for you but but imagine you date a you you you date a man i mean a lot of the comments are crazy too they were like this lady this girl waited until she was in her 30s to have a baby and this is who she had a baby with yeah like it's not like she was super young and naive she was grown at night
Starting point is 00:43:01 right people expect you to know better but just because you get older doesn't mean you grow up it doesn't mean you mature and so you very much can be you know 33 35 years old and still out here making decisions that some 18 or 21 year old would make and i just want to say right everybody's gonna make some dumb ass or not dumb but just choices that you're like i wouldn't do that right cool but then you set up the cameras and get a microphone and then you put it you put it on vid and audio and then you press post you do that's when i was like oh this this is where i'm frustrated with it's like i would have rather not i wish i didn't come across my for you page i wish i wouldn't have known nothing about this i haven't seen anything that i would remotely want to hear
Starting point is 00:43:55 anything that the game has to say right i haven't even played i mean his name is the game yeah he's gonna be playing games right it's not gonna be worth your time haven't heard a game the game song in years years off the top of your head a game song this is how we do right no that might be 50 i don't think it hated i love it that's 50 cent yeah but i think game might be on that okay yeah yeah right oh he's on that yes but i don't know what game song his own actual song right so yeah like and i feel that way usually when i see a man in front of a microphone i'm like this isn't worth me pressing play oh this is not worth me listening to oh i didn't watch the clip i just read the comments oh no i'm going straight to the comments i was i felt sick for
Starting point is 00:44:44 that girl because like wow you really not only is he bragging about how he was not going to be a good dad like he's talking to you like you a dumb bitch for actually listening to him like it like like you shouldn't have never gave him a baby like he's talking to you like damn what was you Because didn't he say, doesn't he say when he saw her, he knew he wanted to put a baby in her or something? Yuck. Yes, yuck. Didn't he used to want her mama? He might have had a mom.
Starting point is 00:45:08 That might be why the mom was laughing so hard. And that is why I say, when you, with all the bad things that you do or things that you have, you regret, fine. But when you put up them cameras, you plug up that microphone, and you go on your garage band, And you're like, ooh, this is going to be the episode. Let's do a part two. That's when I'm like, see, you had the power and you let that post hit you where you're like, oh, I feel like everybody else should know. That's when I'm like. Well, they want the numbers.
Starting point is 00:45:42 You know, they want to go viral. They want more people to listen. They want the attention of that. But also everybody doesn't realize that they are fucking clowns. Everybody doesn't realize that they're immature as shit. Yeah. Because he probably left that thinking, feeling great, feeling great about himself. It's me.
Starting point is 00:46:02 Feeling like he's that nigga. He went like this when he walked out. Literally. Literally. He has no idea he sounds like a clown. Yeah. Nigga, you fucking 50 talking about you don't change diapers. Be for real.
Starting point is 00:46:13 Grow the fuck up. Is he 50? I mean, I don't know. I'm assuming he's at least 45. Right. The game. The game. Period.
Starting point is 00:46:21 Rounding it up. Right. Rounding it up. So you say 46 is 50? Mm-hmm. Okay. Well, it's closer to 50 than 40. 100%.
Starting point is 00:46:29 I don't like the math that's happening on mass, but yeah, sure. You round up. This is the regular math. Yeah. You round down if it's under. Yeah. Okay. So let's bring it back to friends, right?
Starting point is 00:46:41 How, like, your friends telling you this. Where does that, I mean, where does that stand with your friends? And then, like, you, like, being the person that's holding something that I, for me, as a friend obviously as you get older you like you gotta let your friends rock they gonna do whatever they want blah blah blah but then there comes a moment where it's like yeah why are you why are you with somebody well i understand why because they're straight and as far as men go these are pretty good men now what not define pretty good men meaning they don't beat them not not right no abuse and that includes you know verbal emotional abuse stuff like that um
Starting point is 00:47:25 employed and if not completely faithful at least he's not fucking up you don't know nothing about it okay i can't say these men are faithful but they seem to be appear to be they appear to be faithful um and they're decent dads like they they're hands-on with their kids they changing diapers they doing hair you know like you could do a lot worse as far as men are concerned so when the bar is hell it is the bar for straight women is legit employed yeah yeah what you should be like you shouldn't be doing nice guy men that i don't like all of my friends husbands and male partners i like being around them i like talking to them yeah that's rare for straight men i usually do not like having conversations with straight men so they legit are better than the average but
Starting point is 00:48:13 they are still men and so for some of them it really is this like we straight men y'all got to get better pr who is doing the pr for straight it's not pr in 2026 the problem is that this is how they are so they need to change the way they act but it starts in the home i know i blame girl i blame boy moms for boys being the way that they are i blame society sure i blame the women why are you still dating I say it's the same thing as the friends who are complaining about something and you're like
Starting point is 00:48:48 where's the change going to happen the solution would be when people like that are in your life you let them go you don't bend you be like I'm all good I'm all set you're not making excuses and you're not like
Starting point is 00:49:04 well I'm going to give this person a chance you're going to be like absolutely fucking not yeah that's your hard line And every guy that has, you're like, how could he do this? He didn't done it before. Somebody was like, it's okay. That guy that I went to his house and he was using somebody else's electricity and he brought me there all the way to New Jersey and whatnot. And it was giving, you know, a blank man set up in his house.
Starting point is 00:49:28 I told him, I said, you should be ashamed. I've been on Abbott before. You knew I was coming here. You invited me here. How could you live like this and think this is acceptable for me? and you invited me to this I've been on ABC and you know what he said to me
Starting point is 00:49:46 he's like I knew you were gonna act like this and then you fucking still brought me here you still brought me here and then you said you know what if you're going back to the city let me try to you know resolve my night maybe I'll drive you back
Starting point is 00:50:00 I said you need to resolve your life you're not driving me back bro I'm not doing that oh absolutely not I wouldn't have gotten in a car with that nigga I don't think you would have made it back, honestly. I told you, bitch. I said, girl, do you know what the fuck is going on right now?
Starting point is 00:50:15 I'm in the tunnel going back to Brooklyn. I agree with Sydney. I mean, I stand by my statement, but I agree with you. We do need to bring back shaming these men. Or maybe not bring it back. We need to bring it out. Because I feel like a lot of women don't talk to men a certain way, the way that we really want to, the way we feel.
Starting point is 00:50:31 Because we don't think we're going to be on the line. Violence. Right. So it's like easier to just be like, this how you live? Okay. well i gotta go i gotta go it's easier to like slink out and sneak out that way than be like because you don't know how because you don't know how they'll react right where you want to live exactly these are also women who have been with these men for years and years and so it's not as
Starting point is 00:50:58 easy as just leave yeah ultimately they could leave but you own property together you have children together you're you're you've been married for several years it is not quite that simple and when you look at what's out here you might say hmm a nigga who would pressure me into keeping a pregnancy when I really don't want to that's probably all of them that's I'm probably not gonna find a man who wouldn't do that and I like all these other things about him so I think that's where they end up with you know it's just easier for me to go get this done and I can tell you know a few trusted friends about it kind of get it off my chest and then and this is why i say the women should be marrying their friends just marry your friend you're so if you want
Starting point is 00:51:42 they're straight they don't want that but you could still date them but you won't rely on them you know what i mean you rely on your friends right you you support we could be relying on each other have sex with the men use them right yeah but then have the person who's really there for you and really have an actual you know connection with mentally emotionally obviously not physically you and your girl living she wants that to be real so bad and it's just not so you want your you Sydney it's not realistic even even jumping in the car with y'all on after your birthday I was like damn I shouldn't even be in this car with Sydney and her girl wait why it just felt like damn I'm it's like when uh a couple gets married and they jump in the car
Starting point is 00:52:26 just married i felt like i was in the just married car no no no she was in the back but she was sitting right next to me right right right right right right but i'm saying i understand that but i'm saying it still felt like y'all have y'all thing as a couple and then your single straight friend should be doing their own stuff i was like i don't want you to do that yes because you want me to be y'all third no oh side third you know what the things that people say to me you literally just said that's why i think you should be with your friends that's not oh my god realistically that's not oh wow girl i'm i'm talking about sisterhood wow no and i i you know and now people just think that i would just want to touch my friends and that's not true
Starting point is 00:53:12 i touch my body so these women are very professional very successful they don't rely on men for anything they are but and they still want to be partnered with a man they want to live in a house with a man nobody wants to live with a man nobody you're not straight sydney becca do you want to really live with a man she lives with a man i do live with a man and how many years how long have y'all lived together see she wants that she just wants you know she wants it like that you want separate wings do you like living with a man it's not bad if you had the perfect home setup how would it be like yeah what would it look like what would a perfect setup but i would have my own room but
Starting point is 00:54:17 he still has to sleep with me yes i get to choose if i don't want to sleep with him but he has to sleep with me see yeah i don't like him choosing to sleep without me i should be able to choose if he doesn't it sounds like you gotta have a lot of rooms bitch that's what that sounds like you really just need two we're in a two we're moving to a two bed great we got a two bed ideally i would just like a getting ready room and then yes we sleep together same i don't need to sleep away from him i just want my own space for my makeup and my shit right this is what i'm trying to tell sydney straight women want to share their lives with men and she's stunned but i mean i'm cool with him being across the street you know i'm saying we were talking about abbott earlier
Starting point is 00:54:59 you know cheryl lee ralph has oh yeah they're different yeah because that's what works for them but most straight women that's great cheryl i'm so i'm so happy for you you live in a real dream even if they're down with the whole like commune thing they do still you know they they want a man around they know you know what i think that you're disappointed in them for that i think it upsets me it frustrates me too but not only i'm jealous yeah i'm not i'm not jealous It's just like, girl, I could give you the world. You know what I'm saying? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:32 The girls wish they were not straight. Now I sound like a mouse. She sound like a nigga, yeah. You sound like the gang. Yeah. I can't use diapers, though. The girls wish they were not straight. They wish it desperately.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Do you date men or women? I date everybody. Okay, great. I love that. I date, but I am queer. You said queer like it was in italics. Yeah. I am queer.
Starting point is 00:55:57 but the queer felt like a question mark because i well because i don't want to be i don't want to be confused for bisexual see because it's not equal see what's the overwhelmingly date women overwhelmingly date women well because you see the materials because i see them but because i have the same standards for men and women and women are far more likely to meet them so it does feel like an italics b though because you know the b is slanted so the b is leaning more towards the lesbian which it i tell like b if you really move with the direction of it it's kind of giving an l no i feel like queer to me feels more what gay than bi yes i agree because if somebody says they're queer to me i'm like okay you date everybody but
Starting point is 00:56:46 you date one more yes i feel i mean i'm sure a lot of bi people are like girl don't speak for us and like i'm not trying to i'm not trying to have like a caleb moment where the bi people still will not leave him alone yeah but i know and you really cannot piss off that community and i think a lot of them would say oh it's not 50 50 for me either but it's whatever you want to be fine like i'm letting y'all have that sure it's just i have identified as queer for such a long time it was lesbian for a while yeah i thought you was lesbian yeah no no no well when i started dating gender non-conforming people and trans men yeah my one of my boyfriends was like it actually i would like for you to really think about calling yourself a lesbian
Starting point is 00:57:26 before because you're in a relationship with me with a man and that makes me feel and i was like damn how many boyfriends you got this oh at the same time you know just you poly no well no no i just believe in dating no i believe in dating we're we're going out but you said boyfriends so one of my boyfriends well yes i've had more than one boyfriend yes one of my boyfriends we're in 2026 people have boyfriends so i'm like you're gonna have to yeah yeah yeah no for sure and i'm not against that but no i don't think the poly lifestyle is for me it's I don't even think it's about sharing I think it's just it's more like a why like why do we especially if you if you coming into the situation like as the third I feel like that's
Starting point is 00:58:22 so that would for me that would be so awkward right it's like you like her better than me you want to be over here more like I just yeah like I don't know I just feel like that's not that's not gonna work I know better than to even try some shit like that yeah but dating around and not being exclusive with one person, dating multiple people, I, that's...
Starting point is 00:58:40 But I think that's what dating is all about. It's what it's supposed to be. You get to know a bunch of people until it's exclusive or until you have the time to show people.
Starting point is 00:58:47 The WLW community lock in way too fast. Way too fast. Oh, my God. One and a half dates and the girls be like, I love her. You're my wife.
Starting point is 00:58:58 It's like, no. I'm actually going out with somebody else tomorrow. Hello. Hello. Hello. Are you doing it fast?
Starting point is 00:59:05 no no no let's let's let's let's really move into it right okay it's not w l w it's w because women actually would love to do that with a man but the men are like no bitch i'm not moving in with you quick i'm not i don't like you yet no but i i do like you but i'm gonna act like i like you but i don't want to be with you like that so if it wasn't so confusing for heterosexual people because they date men okay who are not so open i think they would fall with a man just as much as yeah definitely absolutely i don't know maybe it depends on the woman if you look at it the way that women date women the way that women date men and the way that men hook up with men it's very it's it's a gradient right yeah because the women are like very intense about like coupling up and
Starting point is 00:59:53 and growing together and i'm not saying all of them are that and and i'm not saying all gay men are this but they look at each other at the gym they make oh baby that's it it's that simple
Starting point is 01:00:05 the stories I've heard about that sauna girl girl the gays that's a whole nother conversation I know I have a friend
Starting point is 01:00:12 he was at the sauna and it was a I think he was like one of the only straight people in the sauna and one of the gay guys leaned over and said you gay
Starting point is 01:00:20 you need to get out he said you gay and he was like no and he said well then you need to leave he had to pick up his dick and his towel. He said,
Starting point is 01:00:30 because we do things in here you're not ready for. And he said, because we're about to pop off in here. We finna. That's why you have to know which gyms are the gay gyms. If you are a man,
Starting point is 01:00:39 you have to know where the... Aren't all the gyms a little bit gay? A little bit. If you really care about your body as a man, that's gay.
Starting point is 01:00:47 Now, Sydney... It is, because those are the ones who have the abs and they look good and they scrub and they got... And they're doing legs
Starting point is 01:00:53 and arms. Yeah, their whole body is together. You care about yourself. Yeah. Straight dudes work out from the waist up let's be looking yeah i went on a date with a dude he didn't do legs he was like peppa pig when he said oh my god damn damn ninja turtle what the hell whatever this
Starting point is 01:01:15 muscle is right here that connects the neck to the shoulder y'all need to stop working this out put some of that energy into the cab get on them leg machines using your legs is gay. So that's what that's about. I think it's because What do you look like as a straight man putting your leg down to lift something up and then pick it up? That is homosexual.
Starting point is 01:01:37 Homosexual. It's a homosexual. Okay. Is it gay to do legs? I'm not even doing this for her. Man. You see this? This is lift up. I think it's simpler than that.
Starting point is 01:01:52 You're joking. I think it's so much Men When they look in the mirror All they see is this Yes So that's all they work out They don't know about
Starting point is 01:01:59 The full body mirror You go to a man's place They don't know what you're talking about It stops here Guys Right They want to see the belt They got to have the belt
Starting point is 01:02:06 Wear it What my belt look like And then you The pants never ironed So it's just right here Ironed Or steamed They don't even know
Starting point is 01:02:13 What you're talking about Girl The pants Yeah And then They're like in the shoe store And they have a smaller mirror Down because they just
Starting point is 01:02:20 Want to see the shoes So they don't need to see how the whole thing looks just want to make sure the shoes look right in your life get him a floor length yeah for a length mirror i think y'all need to do that for valentine's day if you're dating a man get him a full length mirror amazon got some deals i could actually make a list of really good full length mirrors we got to move on y'all to click her affiliate link yeah her l tk i'm sorry that's where the economy is yeah if you're not pushing something yeah you gotta Let's sell something.
Starting point is 01:02:49 You got to sell it. I'm trying to move away from Amazon. Same. Bring back going to the store to pick it up. Yes. Especially here in this fucking city. I'm like, I should be able to find it in New York fucking city. We have it here.
Starting point is 01:03:02 I'm trying to move away from that. It's here somewhere. So you want to get away from Amazon, but you still like ChatGPT. It's okay. I'll ask a couple questions. Oh, yeah. She is talking to you. That's okay.
Starting point is 01:03:13 That's all right. I'm not putting no more money in Jeffrey Bezos' pocket. so you don't want to give him money but you want to take away the water that you you love water yeah sure water's great but i'm not the only person using chat gpt i'm not the only person using ai me not using it is not making a big enough impact on the world at this day you could say the same thing about amazon oh yeah but i'm it's not i'm not adding to his his pockets we all kind of moving away from amazon the people with sense well everybody the people with sense well i mean chat gpt is probably hosted by an amazon server so in that way you are putting money in
Starting point is 01:03:56 i'm like girl what i i use it for free though i don't even have an account yeah they don't even really know me like that listen that little farrah fossa curl you got you're like girl it i mean you're like i i do think we need to bring back going to the store i agree i want to go to the store i want to get the i want to get the little shopping bag and swing it all the way home the boxes with the packing yeah it is a lot yeah it's like that i feel like to me worse yes because you're a physical person and you want to move around you want to get your steps in so i get it that makes you know i like to see the product before i pay for it i want to smell it i want to put it on my wrist i want to
Starting point is 01:04:36 i just want to spend my money in the city i don't want to give it to jeff bezos if at all possible right i would rather but i still subscribe to you know prime video or whatever there's still yeah it's things where it's like you know i'm gonna do the things that really matter to me when i can but i'm also not gonna beat myself up too much for existing in this society that i didn't shape like i didn't ask for there to be billionaires so nobody did i'm just gonna do my best girl you shaped the society a little bit you've been doing the podcast for 15 years i mean uh you know my own little culture way yeah we don't have no crystal west mics and whatnot don't we want we don't have no podcast set up for y'all oh just saying i mean i guess because nobody's
Starting point is 01:05:20 ever thought of that you know who's supposed to then we gotta you because you big business oh even think it's small you gotta be think big you right you right because i wasn't even i've never once considered having my own line of microphone yo the way people are buying them that that was a genius idea i feel like i'm also like constantly trying to get people to not buy them oh well they're gonna their people are still gonna buy and it's really men don't let all men who want to have a podcast should have to audition for me first oh and then i will tell you whether you're now is it gonna be like the voice your chair yes if i like what i hear then i'll mash the button
Starting point is 01:06:01 first of all that's a show come on the voice that will change society okay it's the voice but meets the masked singer because they're also wearing oh lord so you don't get to see they're in a costume they're in a costume no because we do judge people based on what they look like we do yeah and the great thing about podcasts well they used to be audio now half these podcasts or if not more have some sort video component i guess because you know the children need something to keep their attention while they while they scroll while they scroll yeah they need 15 seconds of your podcast on their for you page and then i'm very fortunate that more people listen than watch my show um but
Starting point is 01:06:46 yeah the there's enough straight men out here talking we really need to just shut all that down And then everybody reapply through me. Yeah. I like this show. But also, my question for your mess, I want to know, like, what's your type when you date? Like, what you looking for? What do you mean? You mean, like, physically or, like, character?
Starting point is 01:07:11 Whatever. What you like. What you like. What you like. A whole lot of. What I need. What you like. Um, so I'm very, I'm attracted to masculine presenting people.
Starting point is 01:07:26 Um, you don't have to. All right, so we're out. Yes, y'all. Put my jacket back on. Y'all are, y'all are safe. You like this? You attracted to this? This is very masculine.
Starting point is 01:07:42 Back on the manly water bottle. There's a carabiner on here. You know, there is a carabiner on it. Marie, what you know about the carabiner? What you mean? She's heard enough lesbian jokes. I took a gym class before. You know what a carabiner means in queer community.
Starting point is 01:08:00 It's just like this. Yeah. That's why you put it on there? Yeah. To identify as a lesbianist? No. No. This is just for me to, like, hook on if I had.
Starting point is 01:08:08 Your keys? Girl, you. No, it isn't. No, for when I'm at the gym. You take that to the gym? Where else should she take this? I mean, I thought it was strictly like, you know This is not my outside jug
Starting point is 01:08:22 This is all perfect Where do you put that? This is for the keys She strapped this to the back of her body No, I mean this water bottle You put it like On the weights On the floor
Starting point is 01:08:31 She puts it on the weights Don't deflect, girl What is your type? What do you want? First of all, you bitches Y'all No, it's you bitches Yes, because y'all were like
Starting point is 01:08:40 You bitches During Black History Month You talk to black women bitches You invented podcasts and you're going to tell us up-and-comers. Bitches. Up-and-comers.
Starting point is 01:08:51 Yeah, we're beginner podcasts. Yeah, I mean, we're just starting out. No, this is our first episode ever. You hoes were at Apple Pot. Y'all were at the fucking holiday party. So I don't want to hear it.
Starting point is 01:09:00 I wasn't at the holiday party. Right, so shut the hell up. She texted me, she's like, girl, I'm eating everything. Everybody's trying to ask like they don't want nothing to eat. She was. Nobody else was eating.
Starting point is 01:09:09 Marie was like, so they're not going to eat? Here's me. Just put in. I said, girl, you know these white people came here to sip something and chit chat we did that last year last year we were eating the skewers we're beginners but see y'all did this where you asked me a question then you immediately took over
Starting point is 01:09:32 and started doing something else so i never got the chance to answer the question and then you brought it up and then you did it again let me apologize no it's fine it's fine i don't even want to answer the question what you need to do they might be listening you know we got a lot That's what I'm saying. They are in the DMs. They are emailing. Emailing. That's your mess.
Starting point is 01:09:50 Why don't you tell us about the DMs? What's in the DMs? Dykes is in the DMs. Girl, why do you just say, why do you say that? Why you don't like the word Dykes? I don't like it. Is that problematic? You don't like it?
Starting point is 01:10:00 No. The people I date call themselves Dykes. Yes, Sydney. So they're older. You're going to erase their- So they were doing, so they was in Stonewall. I'm in my 40s, Sydney. There was in Stonewall.
Starting point is 01:10:08 I don't date 20-year-olds. What do you call them, masked? No, I don't. I don't say that. But young people love saying math. I don't say math. So, Sydney, what you call them? I don't call them that.
Starting point is 01:10:20 I just feel like it's so aggressive. It feels like it was... Well, you like stud. I don't even like stud. My girlfriend doesn't consider herself a stud. Okay. She's like, don't call me that. I don't conform to that.
Starting point is 01:10:32 Okay. So, she doesn't use any masculine terms? She just is lesbian? Yeah. She was like, I wouldn't mind if somebody called me a tomboy. but like but not even she's like i just i don't wear dresses like that but i feel like i i have feminine parts of me that i you're like i'm a woman i just don't dress you know what how a femme yeah i mean there it really is a spectrum of gender identity even within the queer community
Starting point is 01:11:01 because there are so many just because you know she's a girl in boys clothes doesn't mean she identifies as a stud or you know how do you tell her about to use that word is what she don't like did but okay i mean that you know what you're the people you talking to want to hear that but i mean when somebody called me that i'm like that's i'm not that i would never call you a dog you're a film now what is a date let me look at it i dare you i dare you to get i don't use chat gbt on my phone oh that's right only on the laptop when you get home when you get home you don't want me to use it for research you see this i just asked siri i type it in so i when the people
Starting point is 01:11:45 girl she's trying to answer the damn question okay okay yeah they're they're masculine not just masculine presenting but also more masculine of center um lesbian so it's not necessarily just i prefer boy clothes but you have a more masculine identity oh it's it was it originated as a derogatory slur yes that's what i was trying to say you can but it's been reclaimed to signify pride and strength well and so that's the white people so dyke is a lesbian nigga yes whoa yes whoa correct well this won't be the clip because that's a lot of bleeping out keep the bleeps in there that's a lot of yeah that's the clip yes that is what i mean when i say when i'm talking about dykes i'm talking about little niggas but girls but niggas so that i
Starting point is 01:12:37 would never call you a dyke i don't use it the way white people do okay white people use dyke as like interchangeable for lesbian i don't do that okay but i also i don't call anybody like i would have never called your girlfriend a stud if she didn't call herself that first because i understand the identity the identity thing is so personal yeah so that's why you can't just go off of what somebody looks like um tell them tell them but yeah you really cannot you i'm not sure that anybody would like why do y'all even think you can but yeah the but they do the the variant amongst us it's just you know we we come in all kinds it takes all kinds so because you're queer uh yeah because i'm queer and i date you know all over the gender
Starting point is 01:13:18 spectrum, but usually it sounds like somebody is up there jogging. Girl, they heard Dyke too many times. They said, what's going on down there now? They tell something. They said, what is going on? Are the kids out of school? Yes, I think so.
Starting point is 01:13:34 Because what? Stop and wrap this shit up. I don't even know how long we've been here. I didn't know we started. I feel like y'all supposed to tell the person when you start. well you know oh i spent nine million dollars a month on rent i mean you were you were one of the you were making more money than joe rogan ever thought of joe rogan yeah are you sure well i
Starting point is 01:13:58 mean wait what you was talking big shit before um uh i'm not sure i'm not sure what you mean like the amount of money you was spending i was like off a podcast oh yeah i mean the read is very very successful you heard that the reason like nini leaks i'm rich bitch well i would never say that what's going on with nini she's coming back to atlanta i love that you're asking like i would have no i'd never watch that oh i mean i haven't watched real housewives of atlanta since and she left since she had uh since since kim zosiak had that little black girl sweetie that she treated like a man. I have not watched Fin Fin,
Starting point is 01:14:43 so I don't know what's going on. Happy Black History Month. I love that. But only to sweetie. I hope she's somewhere doing well. Not answering to white women. Okay, now that, I know we've got to wrap up,
Starting point is 01:14:56 but I just want to- I have no idea whether we have to wrap up. I have no idea what we should probably do. I don't even know what time it is. But I've had fun. This has been a delight. So now you're wrapping me up
Starting point is 01:15:06 on my own pie. Oh my God, Sammy. that's 15 years right there you see that you see the pivot sydney i've had a good time so it was really nice talking to you okay okay you have got to have you found somebody yet on that website i sent you when i tell you to give me the name you haven't gave me a name yet ho sydney i gave you a direct link where you could put in your insurance and everything else that's like a lot of stuff yeah that's how you don't want me to really get a therapist marie said hey here's this woman's name
Starting point is 01:15:37 here's her number she didn't even do that you also said don't send me nobody where I gotta pay $100 a session I did not say $100 a session
Starting point is 01:15:44 now stop doing that now you don't need to lie like that now she said $90 I said $300 that's what I said okay well so if you talk about
Starting point is 01:15:52 private pay you are gonna be talking about probably at least $150, $175 out of pocket that's why I sent you the link to put in
Starting point is 01:16:00 your insurance so you can find somebody who takes that and pay a decent regular normal amount of money. My insurance tells me to go on the train and talk to the person next to me.
Starting point is 01:16:12 Then you really need to talk to somebody. So if you're not going to use insurance, then go ahead and get yourself used to the idea of spending, you know, a couple hundred a week on therapy. You got that. I can tell you got that. I can tell by the hat.
Starting point is 01:16:27 You can tell by the hair too. The bundles? You can tell by the bundles, right. My question is, it is Black History and this is this is a tough one for me it's like i know that we do say everything is about race right but is there a moment where we just walk into the you know walk outside and you're like i'm not thinking about race at all is there a moment because i was telling marie when i used to hang out with or maybe it was somebody else when i used to body waitress and i was you know
Starting point is 01:16:57 one of the few uh black people there were so many moments where i i wasn't thinking about race we were just thinking about drugs and partying and having a good time the dance floor is a universal space they weren't being like look at this black bitch now did they be like oh you know that's Coco they would call me you know they would have like nickname like you know I like I well the person who I'm now I would not like somebody who doesn't know me to call me Coco yeah but also at that time on Facebook my name was Sydney Coco Loco Washington oh well I can't be mad at people who know me calling me coco yeah and i caught myself that they might have legit thought that was your middle name yeah and that you just threw the loco in there to be cute yeah
Starting point is 01:17:41 coco loco so what was drugs they weren't stupid okay so then okay right so we we got a great set like is there is there a moment where is there times where you walk outside and you're like not thinking about race no i hear the fatigue in your voice yeah no you know i born and raised in america and i just don't think i am ever not aware of how race is impacting life and i know you know sometimes i go to islands or whatever where it's majority black people and them niggas are always like i was never really aware of race until i went to america and then it was like damn this shit is everywhere because when you come from someplace where you're the default yeah it's not you know that's what we mean by race being a social construct and everything because
Starting point is 01:18:29 how you're perceived or how you perceive yourself racially very much depends on where you are but no i think as a black woman in america who's always been in america i think i'm always aware of it and i have not made enough money to wear class trump's race you have to be really rich for that i don't but that's the thing it's like even when you get to that status which i've seen it's like oprah was denied in in switzerland hermes like she had i mean they didn't know it was her because she didn't have, you know, that light around her. But, I mean... That Oprah light.
Starting point is 01:19:01 That Oprah light. The Oprah light. It was the Oprah light. But there's people who have tons of money who, like, they still get treated. Like, oh, yeah, you got that money, but that's because of asterisks. It's not because, like, you have money.
Starting point is 01:19:14 You just have it. So I just feel like... Yeah. I think sometimes the shackles of just thinking about... Shackles. Yeah, no, go ahead. Marie, why? the shackles
Starting point is 01:19:28 of thinking about the shackles of the Hermes Switzerland store yeah well you see how that story
Starting point is 01:19:35 is such an anomaly that it's like the one we know this is it's multiple stories that's just the one we know no more questions
Starting point is 01:19:42 I don't even know honestly I thought I had something yeah and it's the souffle when I laugh at shackles
Starting point is 01:19:50 Marie came in slamming the door sinking your souffle the souffle Pay me and stomp on the well. I didn't mean to stomp on the shackles. She's ruining her. She had a thought.
Starting point is 01:20:01 She was almost done with her thought. And then here you go. Girl, I said. Girl, I know. She asked the question. I said, is this AI? She too easily distracted. She's too easily distracted.
Starting point is 01:20:10 Girl, you need to call the lady when you get to the house. She don't want to use her insurance and she don't want to pay. Like, okay, girl. It's going to have to be one. One or the other. It's one or the other for real. A little bit of one, a little bit of the other. For real.
Starting point is 01:20:21 A little insurance, a little under the table. A little something. Hey, listeners, if y'all really think, if y'all want to be taught, you know, really add to a small black business during this month, I think Vimo, your friend who is of color, who doesn't have therapy and just send them, you know, money for a session. Not is of color, black. Is of color, black. This is not POC history. It's A-A-I-D. These hoes never happy.
Starting point is 01:20:50 You understand? No, bro. It's Black History Month. Correct. We get 28 days. But there's some people who identify as, you know,
Starting point is 01:20:58 Afro... Afro what? They get a different month. They get Black History Month and Latino History Month. They get both because they both. They both.
Starting point is 01:21:06 But the POC don't be claiming us. Nope. They exclude us as soon as they can. They're like, don't put me over there with them.
Starting point is 01:21:13 Remember what they did with the college admissions? Yeah. Shot themselves in the foot. Y'all letting all niggas in like no they said it's too black okay fine and now it's now it's not now and now y'all not in there now it's real beige in there and you know what happy black history month yeah how the potato salad tastes y'all y'all ain't even got that y'all got both salad pasta
Starting point is 01:21:40 we gotta go oh wait tell me say bye yeah no no i'm just saying this is chaotic we've been doing this for two years please let the people listening know where they can find you so this is the end of the show you would have never known by listening the godmother of podcasts these niggas just ramble
