Starting point is 00:00:00 oh you listening to mass okay so marie i feel like every week i'm like thinking about like oh what what's like i'm trying to think of like a bigger mess to like tell to talk to people about yes but this one it's gonna be it's gonna be very small for you i i don't know if it's gonna be a big bang boom but no need to be big bang boom i tried because i just want to i just want to bring the heat because you know we started the podcast off so hot because you you came with oxtails and every single time i said man we i've been trying to reach that level of stardom and i haven't got it yet but girl what's your mess for the week my mess is that i cannot find my socks.
Starting point is 00:00:48 I keep losing socks. I keep losing important items. Socks, panties, bras. Socks, panties, bras. Losing them constantly. I cannot find them. But also it's because I don't put things where they need to be. But I...
Starting point is 00:01:05 Are they in the house or are they out in the street? I don't know. I think they leave. I think they was like, enough is enough! And they leave me. They're like, how long are you going to run us down Well, you did say you sleep in thongs. So the thongs said, we need to rest. Give us a freeze.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Girl, the socks is Harriet Tubman. And he said, we going with the socks. Yeah. Well, first of all, I actually tried. After we talked to Greta, I was like, oh, you know what? Let me try and not sleep with any underwear at all. And I don't like it. Why?
Starting point is 00:01:43 Oh, my God. It's lit. Well, maybe, what's your thread count? Oh, how dare you, bitch. They might be the sheets might be too itchy for your coochie. It's close to 500. I don't know if that's good. Is that good?
Starting point is 00:01:54 It is good. 500 is like, is like basic. Exactly. It's basic. Okay. Well, if you want to give me some Egyptian sheets for my birthday, I would love that. What size bed? Oh, it's going to be full, queen.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Oh, it's going to be a full queen, girl. It's going to be a queen full every time. It's going to be a queen full. It's going to be a queen full. It's not the same size. A fully queen, a fully queen, a fully queen twin. That's what it is. A fully queen twin.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Yes, fully queen twin. That might be the title. Well, listen, when we, when it's settled, when the dust settles, I will get you some sheets. Are you talking about the dust that's like on my socks or like what kind of dust? The dust of your life. Oh, wow. Yeah. No, I want to know where my things are, put them in the right place.
Starting point is 00:02:36 But I just feel like socks be leaving us. I like, I bought so many socks. I bought so many. I remember I used to order from Savage Fenty. Socks? No. Oh. Underwear.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Broad. Right, right, right, right. And I can't find any of that stuff. Or I'll find, like, one at the top, but I can't find the bottom. The laundry man is stealing them. I don't think so. I don't think they care that much. I think they're not pressed.
Starting point is 00:03:01 I think it's me just really mishandling important things of mine. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. That feels like it meant something else, but okay. Okay. Yeah. mishandling important things yeah okay yeah tell me more um and uh marie what about you
Starting point is 00:03:16 any cute mess for us you know i'm gonna piggyback off of what you just said because you know i dropped my laundry off too and um i usually let it sit in the laundry bags for a really long time oh and i like live out of the bag like i'll be like oh where's my where my socks where my um but that's a girl on the go energy too so don't feel bad i do be at the house stepping over the bag but i when i when i step over the bag i do go so the girl do be going but they but i heard that's the thing with using like outside people to take care of your laundry if you did your own right you brought back you brought it back home you would put it away because you've already in the process of moving around if i gotta do it and then drag that giant ikea bag back to the house
Starting point is 00:03:59 i'm i'm stepping over that at the house as well okay i think the only way that i would put my laundry away is if i had a washer dryer in the unit in the because i would wash like two pairs of jeans at a time and be like oh i'm a fool i'm gonna put these up should we put that on the prayer list washer and dryer in your next in your next life should i ask that man to get it for me oh oh that man which one we'll figure it out i'll ask one for the washer one for the dryer one for the washer one for the dryer you got two men one for the washer one for the dryer anyway anyway i just want to finish what i was saying because this is my i guess my mess for the week is um i put my laundry away soon like early and i was going through my underwear drawer and
Starting point is 00:04:44 there was panties in there that did not belong to me i think you told this one did i yes well sometimes you do that yeah but this is just repeat you know this is the epilogue uh-huh yes but you understand you understand the it's i think your mess is putting your stuff away but because you built a closet now oh my god you built a does it look good well it's so big and it's not done because the top of one was damaged so i gotta wait five or seven days for them to yeah ikea's girl ikea ikea my money back he is this giant closet built i feel like i live at our Costco now. Do you have a picture?
Starting point is 00:05:25 Of the closet? Yeah. Oh, yeah. You didn't take photos? While I do that, should we bring in our guests? Okay, let's bring in our guests. Okay, wait.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Oh, my God. First of all, my eyes. I can't even look at them. Are you serious? Because I am like, wow, you're just, you're stunning, you're everything.
Starting point is 00:05:40 I'm like, I don't know if I want to hug you or like... Or kiss you on the lips. Oh, no. Not that. I was like, I want to take everything you got.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Wow. I want a single white female you. But our guest is a movie star, TV star, a singer. Also a girl on the go. A girl on the go. Period. You could see He, She, They and Fire Island. Or the show that I, you know, I did a little appearance in as well.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Phantasmus on Max. Give it up for Tomás. Very booked. no wait tomas do you just go by tomas or you what's your last name it's giving tomas matos that's my full name your last name really is matos yeah and fun fact it's the same letters it is it's giving what's that word i think it's like anagram or something so your real name is tomas matos yeah i have two middle names too but I don't really use them oh what are they Joaquin Jose Tomas Joaquin Jose Matos yeah
Starting point is 00:06:52 that's a mouthful it sounds like you're on the run and you don't want to give yeah it's very Hispanic yeah my mom was doing too much no or not not doing enough we could throw another name in there Joaquin Devante Matos I'm not mad at that Joaquin Phoenix right right she could have done more but like my family calls me tj because my middle name is joaquin and my first name is tomas but i don't see you as a tj that's my whole family calls me tj really yeah fun fact no mess exclusive i don't think i've ever told anybody no this is new that is mess you don't like tj well i don't like when people just make up nicknames that it's like did you ask me if that's okay yeah t yeah no from childhood it's from when you're a kid but like a part of me is
Starting point is 00:07:39 like let's say if i don't i don't know if this is gonna happen but like let's say i wanted to transition like tj is a really good gender neutral name oh i didn't think that i was you know i'm not gonna say you know i'm not saying i'm going to transition right but like just in case just in case just in case they ate that too you should they well that's so funny because you know when you came in i said what's your pronouns yeah and you said any or any any and i said that's a new Where Sydney said, oh, and y'all. She was like, oh, so all of them are here today. Yeah, and he's here, y'all.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Any and all of them is all up and through here, baby. Stay in the building. And that's when I truly fell in love with you. That's when I was like, we're meant to be. Can I just say, this is truly a dream come true. I'm not someone who likes no shade podcasts. On the record, you're saying you don't like podcasts. on the regular like on iHeartRadio no shade to everybody who does podcasts I'm not so like my
Starting point is 00:08:41 Spotify rap was not giving like oh you listen to mad podcasts like it was given I barely no shade right but I will say when I when I found out about mess that was the first time that I was like oh I'm excited for Thursday to come out you know I'm saying like I'm excited for the next episode that's the first time like this is the first sort of like podcast that I'm like oh I'm a fan well I remember when I met you I'm trying to remember I did I meet you at an event or I might have met you at a party oh it was a party during fashion week and I saw you walk in I said wait who the hell oh my god yeah opening ceremony Yeah, opening ceremony.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Opening ceremony. Oh, I didn't realize that's where you met Tomás. Yes, and then you told me that you were sober. Yeah, yeah. Wait, what? You're sober. Sober. We was out there drinking Liquid Death.
Starting point is 00:09:39 Water in a can. Shout out to Liquid Death. You know, I like water. Water in a can. I'm not the biggest fan, but Liquid Death, I will say that on the record. They need to put, like, Mio or something in it. What do you mean? Like, they need to put, like, sweetener.
Starting point is 00:09:54 Oh, no, they have different flavors. But for me, it's like, it's not really giving sweet. Wait, okay, but you know what? I want Pistol Light in a can. Oh, that's something else. You got a P-Y-O pouch. Yeah, T, I got to make my own. Sounds like you want half a bag of Kool-Aid, honey,
Starting point is 00:10:09 and that's not what Liquid Death is trying to provide. They want you to have hydration. I know, I'm not trying to get that. They want to kill your thirst. That's why it's called Liquid Death. Are we sponsored by Liquid Death today? I mean, y'all should be. I guess so, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Hey, Michael from Liquid Death, send us a case. Oh, yeah, we're friends with Michael. We're literally friends with Liquid Death. Oh, period. we'll send a case to the crib so Tomas you're here because your
Starting point is 00:10:33 topic of mess I'm fully in locked in period but we're here to talk about Twitter is Twitter messy? the answer I feel like
Starting point is 00:10:44 is yes it's a duh it's a duh and it's like I think there's two types of mess there's like mess derogatory and then there's
Starting point is 00:10:52 mess complimentary you know what I'm saying like I I think I'm messy but I think I'm messy complimentary you know what I'm saying like it's like oh yeah I'm a mess Twitter is messy bitch like it's giving for the birds literally oh I remember when it was a good time though it was a time where you could
Starting point is 00:11:09 like really make connections with people you've never met before you probably will never meet but from all walks of life and you're getting the you're just getting the words and then they moved into like vine videos and then it was photos and then it was like okay and then everybody thought that there was a journalist and reporting something and storytelling and then I think that's when it got out of hand.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Ooh, storytelling. Yes. Wait. Did y'all see, what was it? Zora? Zola. It was like,
Starting point is 00:11:37 people will go through, like, tell stories like in a thread and then one of those threads on Twitter turned into a movie. Oh, period.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Yeah. It's giving, what's her name? Risa Tiza. Yeah. Risa Tiza. On TikTok. Zola was the original
Starting point is 00:11:53 Risa Tiza. Oh, period. Or Zola, like, crawled so Risa Tisa could fly or something like that. Zola crawled so Risa could make them videos in her car. Yes. That is what I hope. That 50-part movie. Every single video, she was in the car going somewhere or coming from somewhere.
Starting point is 00:12:10 And people in the comments was like, this is interesting, but where are you going, sis? She's a girl on the go. Yeah, she's a girl on the go. You still ain't get that? You still ain't rich? Now, what's your beef with Twitter right this moment? Because we'll walk through it. Okay, like, I think I have not always hated Twitter
Starting point is 00:12:28 or X or whatever it's called nowadays. I hate the rebrand. Yeah, let's just keep it as Twitter. It's Twitter. We're millennials. I don't, it doesn't go by X for me. I guess I use its dead name. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Ooh? That's amazing. Messy. Is that derogatory? No, but I think that's messy call of the letter. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're going to say that Elon for that. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:12:49 And who cares about that? No, hey. May he rest in peace. Yes. but like I feel like when I think of old Twitter like I use Twitter as like a way to just like
Starting point is 00:12:58 say what I want and it's not giving following for me on Twitter like I literally just use my Twitter because I'm like oh I want to say something or like you know I'll post a photo of me
Starting point is 00:13:07 at some like random screening and be like oh I really like this film like I should go see it for like you know my 5,000 people who are on there I was going to ask you how many followers you got
Starting point is 00:13:16 yeah it's given five okay it's given 5k so it's not given like you know people come and look at my page for dissertation okay like it's not it's not giving that not yet not yet you tried writing
Starting point is 00:13:27 some at this point it's giving private account private account or close friend yeah i mean i'd be you know i use my private account now as my close friends because the people that are on there are like nice to me because i just came into an experience where like something that i had posted got on the algorithm and it got like it got out there what happened what did you so tell us let's unpack this yeah okay should we hold here yeah you need a close like when i tell you i is giving trauma okay all right talk to us like i'm fully traumatic it's like but is that just twitter or that social media in general because it could any yeah and marie you've talked about this like the comments on instagram they could be very messy yep but like for me the mess that i see on instagram
Starting point is 00:14:10 is very like oh you're a homo oh you're going to hell ah like bitch you don't know me also like i don't give a fuck about what you think uh twitter was the first time that like i experienced people's thoughts and opinions about me based on me like i felt like they were coming for me personally they knew like they knew you yes like they were like tomas from phantasmize you're a piece of shit for this thought okay for this tweet so what did you say yeah tell us okay so so i went to a screening of queer it was a tastemaker screening it wasn't giving you know premiere i was just they asked they told me to come
Starting point is 00:14:44 and I went oh you're an influencer it was giving influencer it was giving like we want you to come and you know post about it if you liked it
Starting point is 00:14:51 what's the movie about Queer is based off a book okay and it's Luca Guadagnino's next film it's starring Daniel Craig
Starting point is 00:14:59 okay and it comes out soon okay what else did Luca do Luca did Call Me By Your Name
Starting point is 00:15:06 oh Challengers yeah okay Luca's like he's a very famous like he'd be doing the thing right give him his flowers like i'm gonna give him his flowers you know i'm saying like luca like
Starting point is 00:15:17 you like you be eating them films okay but like i my tweet was no shea luca before a film titled queer it was giving very white cis gay man because everyone in the film was a white cis gay man okay and it's not just but like i should i should also preface by saying omar apollo's in it but omar apollo is in it for one minute and a half it's giving like cameo for omar yeah and like it's not only queer it's also call me by her name like luca has i think a reputation of not really like hiring people of color unless you're like zendaya you know and in that case zendaya hired him because zendaya was the ep so she brought Luca on
Starting point is 00:16:04 and you're coming with receipts no shade you know what I'm saying and I'm also coming from a point of like you're an artist you're in the industry
Starting point is 00:16:12 I'm like I'm just pointing out what I see and girl the people on Twitter got mad like I didn't realize do you have some
Starting point is 00:16:20 of the tweets what is it like Daniel Craig hives I didn't realize they were going that hard for Luca and then you're almost like
Starting point is 00:16:26 but those are big movies you wouldn't think that they would and these people are fans that's what fans do we actually had a whole episode
Starting point is 00:16:31 on fans and how messy they are fans are messy but i was like you were scared yes because they were they were being mean like they started coming for me and like some of it was funny no shade like someone was like oh so this is a book this is based off a book not a hulu original and i was like that's funny because you're you're coming for me yeah empire island like that's funny yeah no shade but shade no shade but shade and i was like ha ha ha like you know like i'm a i'm a respond i responded with like the the clip of laura roach being like you ate that i like when people know how to fight fire with fire like like something funny and then it's a
Starting point is 00:17:15 good exchange on the thread and i'm like i'll go down and be like but when it gets too serious to me i don't like that i want to and how are you mad about my opinion that is true though exactly Like, a lot of people were saying, oh, the word queer in this scenario is, like, used as a derogatory term. Like, back in the day, they used to be, like, they used to call people in the Alphabet Mafia, oh, you're a queer. But I'm like, that would also go for queers who are people of color. Like, everybody was called a queer. So queer back then only was for white people, which you know, which is not the case. Right.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Yeah. Yeah. And I think some some people were also like, oh, what did you expect? Like the writer is a white man. Luke is a white man. Like and that's something that I took away from that. I was like, you're actually right. Like, I shouldn't be expecting representation from from, you know, a white gay man when that's their experience. You know, that's their point of view. Right. You're not watching Ava DuVernay. you know you're not watching tyler perry you know and that i think like helps me be like okay that brings purpose to what i do as a as an artist like that is my path of being like okay well i'm gonna just pave my own way i guess but i think that was the point of my whole tweet of being like
Starting point is 00:18:33 sometimes it would be nice to not have to you know blaze and trend and like you know they came for you considering you're a person of color and you're like usually when we say something it's like oh okay well they have a little bit more authority of it because we're the marginalized group and this this does affect us it affects all of us yeah but i feel like you can't tell white gays that they the majority oh yeah and like the other thing is like i think is twitter messy is like a sub it's like a subculture of are white gays messy you know So, like, I think that is where it's, like, that's the tree and that's where it, like, falls down. Because, no shade, a lot of the tweets that I were getting back were from the white gays.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Because they probably love the movie. They're like, I see me. When you see you, you don't know that people don't see them. Yeah. Because all you see is you. But also, I think when we're in these different groups, we're like, hey, I can't focus on everybody. I could just focus on the people that I'm focusing on right now. And that's my people.
Starting point is 00:19:42 And I guess they have every right to do that. Right. But when we talk about inclusion and the storytelling for all of us, it would make sense that we're included because when it's time to piggyback off of us and using us off of like, oh, yes, we are, you know, marginalized and, you know, all this hate comes. it's like but who gets the brunt of it yeah exactly who did when does it really be like okay when we marching who we marching for huh it sounds like we the three of us need to make a movie yeah and like the other thing not to like you know keep harping on this film but like there's not much femme representation in the film and luca's discography there there tends to not be and i think like the only femme representation that you do see in queer is i like the the femme representation is either you know hated or literally disembodied to a point of like that's not a real person yeah would you consider yourself a femme yeah okay i think i i i my non-binary
Starting point is 00:20:51 binary puts me like i think very nicely in the middle where i think i've you know my my everyday life is balancing the masculine and the feminine versions and parts of me to halves of a whole you know what I'm saying? Because I'm seeing the nails and the arms and that and the beat
Starting point is 00:21:11 and the mustache you know what I'm saying? I think that is what makes me me but also like I think the femme part of me wants to see more femme representation
Starting point is 00:21:27 you know what i'm saying and like i think all i was trying to say was that like the default lens of a queer story tends to be white cis gays and and you know what and this is where i'll i'll hit you on that is like if you would have just tweeted that yeah then that could have been like that is the issue yeah and you didn't have to make it specific but you also went to that movie as a critic and this is the whole discourse so and that's the thing that gets lost in twitter and internet in general everything is nuanced and it's only
Starting point is 00:22:00 a certain amount of words and people want to get off their shit they're not like are we here to actually have a conversation or I'm a win you know
Starting point is 00:22:07 did they increase the word limit or something crazy 280 or less what did it used to be 120 yeah I think it was like
Starting point is 00:22:16 yeah but now it's giving dissertation down yeah it used to I did like when Twitter when it was messy
Starting point is 00:22:25 but it was just like people were going at jabs like remember when rihanna was on twitter the rihanna era of twitter was the golden age was doing so much and she didn't care she this is when she was like the navy era like when she had the blonde like swoop thing i don't know what the hair was given but i just remember good luck booking that stage you speak up acr up in one tweet i was like why are i was like what's the problem why they keep going back and forth with each other yeah what was the reason well she was i feel like she she likes the the like back and forth yes she likes the clap back of it all yeah because she was going back and forth with tiana taylor yeah yeah i mean she this was when and karuchi yeah what was her karuchi oh because
Starting point is 00:23:13 Chris Brown and that what I did that's when I was like Ariana you really what was that going at it she had the rice cake with the hoops and the lashes and I was like okay she really took it to a next level
Starting point is 00:23:30 she did eat it up but it was with the hoops but you said there's like the funny twitter and then the derogatory and it was like you know Miss Fenty you were that was a line that was absolutely crossed yeah yeah no yeah i think people want
Starting point is 00:23:50 to talk they should and do what they want to do and that's so funny that wasn't wait rihanna and tiana was going at it well i think tiana jumped in because she's chris's friend yeah and it was like we're not talking to you yeah and i think that was the rihanna's energy about that because it was like girl and then didn't somebody make their um header rihanna's photo the night that chris hitter okay it was like tiana or maybe it was karuchi i don't know which one did it but it was like babe you lost wait now wait this is the this is the sierra tweet that really started it was like trust me rihanna you don't want to see me on or off the stage that's when rihanna was like good luck with that stage you speak up i'm like yo i said if you're gonna start something
Starting point is 00:24:39 yeah give us that yeah you know it's giving us a plot it's giving us joke bar for bar bars and we can do something with it it's just like when it starts getting long ah that's why we don't need too many characters bring it back to 140 yeah yeah so you gotta get it in quick you know who else was always in a twitter beef azalea bank oh yeah but she'd be fighting with the wall babe but she's fought with every race every gender every tax bracket just any and everybody she could fight with and then she get banned from twitter yeah i mean like she'd be doing the most but i you know she'd be wrong loud and wrong but there'll be some times where she's like you know what she really do know how to read yeah she knows how she's a librarian and she
Starting point is 00:25:45 know how to hurt some hearts and now i'll give her that yeah and but also twitter is toxic so that's why she was thriving on there yeah girl you sipping on gasoline and then you're like going off you know i she's the type of person that you're like i know that you are tweeting in the dark yeah i know you're you're using this nothing is on in the house just fingers on the phone and this the screen is hitting your face and you're like i'm gonna tell you why i oughta it's like it's giving too many espresso martinis because why are you up how charged is your battery like i think that's why the rihanna um stuff was so fun because you knew she was just in her car on the way to something yeah yeah right she wasn't late night like when trump was
Starting point is 00:26:32 late night tweeting from the toilet it was like babe give it up yeah that's when it got bad that's when that's when i really was like oh i'm through with twitter because it's like hey sir you're a president i don't want to see my uh first of all i don't want to see you as a president but i don't want to see my president tweeting do you know how like common that is do you know how like pedestrian you are a you're a president and you're using your actual fingers to write to the public somebody else should be on a a stenographer should be saying your words you should not
Starting point is 00:27:07 be doing that on your own it just gave this is for this is for the commoners I don't like it and people and I would see more negative things than positive and so I was like do I really want
Starting point is 00:27:23 that in my head all the time remember there was a woman who was like basically like talking about her day and like saying how like amazing it is like yes she's like oh you know how to have a cup of coffee and then sit outside and with my husband and it was like oh i couldn't like must be nice you know they they they turned into dragging this woman oh my god sharing a like a just a sweet moment and they they took it to the neck it was like people were like people were like some of us
Starting point is 00:27:56 don't have yards other people were like i don't have a husband that's single erasure people were like must be nice to be able to sit instead of go to work it was like this it was the nicest tweet it feels so good to wake up and have a cup of coffee with my husband in the yard before going to yoga or something like that and they were like this tweet sucks i see a mess i feel like that's also the issue with twitter it's like it's it's not giving like you can misconstrued like misconstrued something really easily yeah because you know it's just plain text you know i'm saying like people can easily like not make sense of what you're trying to say but that's why i tell people all the time if you got something to say to somebody why are you texting
Starting point is 00:28:41 you better pick up that phone yeah you gotta meet them in person because if i'm reading something i'm thinking about your tone yeah and i'm your tone i know how you speak yeah so i'm reading this and you're like what's up question mark oh i'm bothering you are you right like what's this we got there's a problem what's up right you bit oh what do you mean what's up you're busy it doesn't it doesn't sound inviting yeah yeah you know so that's the same thing with twitter when people are bringing things i think if you want to be toxic and mean you go to twitter yeah if you if you want to say nice things i don't know you better get a tumblr or something you better like
Starting point is 00:29:20 you better buy a sub stack yeah sub stack no it's threads nowadays right I think okay no shade like I
Starting point is 00:29:28 feel like threads is kind of fab I was on it actively for like the first week and then it was like this feels like work
Starting point is 00:29:36 why is it fab for you because it's connected to your IG okay so like the people who follow
Starting point is 00:29:42 you on IG follow you on threads and vice versa like who you follow on IG you also follow on threads
Starting point is 00:29:47 what you be putting on threads yeah like whatever whatever i post on my ig gets um syndicated to thread oh so it's kind of like is it connected yeah they're connected but like i can also post like i know shade i post what i post on twitter on my thread okay so like can we read some of your tweets i want to know what exactly are the
Starting point is 00:30:09 talking about like talking tomas okay that's an actual age talking tomas i like that i already or that's your youtube because you know that's where you can monetize yeah see like most of my okay so don't explain nothing just say it like i posted the photo of me at queer right and then i posted another photo after that went viral of like people coming for me at another screening being like this was so good oh my god i have no critiques sabrina carpenter you ate that I went to see them The Christmas thing The Christmas thing
Starting point is 00:30:50 And I was like Girl it's not like I'm not saying My critiques no more Because they will drag me Okay but what's Like a regular Like a regular tweet
Starting point is 00:30:57 That doesn't have Anything to do with Let's all look at The last things we tweeted How about that Oh yeah Yeah What's the last thing
Starting point is 00:31:03 You tweeted Let me go Can I get into my Twitter I don't even know That's right Because I'll be deleting stuff So you know the Account Film Updates
Starting point is 00:31:10 They post like A whole They post like All the things about films Pretty much on Twitter they had posted the first look of my upcoming film queens of the dead and was like starring you be in stuff you are acting you are an actor and i'll be trying no you don't you do it you are you are who you are and i and i see it and it translate very well on period on camera on screen
Starting point is 00:31:37 so what is it what did you say they so they posted the first look photo of queens of the dead and they said starring you know everyone that's in the photo except for me and in the photo i'm it's pretty much like there's six spots and i'm the center spot in the photo so and i didn't even get name they cropped you out no you're in the middle i'm in the middle of the photo that was posted but i'm not name check okay so they said everybody else who's in the photo except for me and so i was like center snowflake spot but not name checked is giving angie k because angie k is currently on um she's the center snowflake in this season of the housewives of salt lake city and she's eating down but she tends to get overlooked and so that's what i said that's what you did for you
Starting point is 00:32:22 because i was like you know i'm saying like no shade they overlooked me it's in my name now i know the more you know but like housewives salt lake city right now is is so good no shade like not to be like riding for them because i don't really ride for them well but they are they are very specific let the Mormons eat but it's very similar to like the height of when Atlanta was good
Starting point is 00:32:50 that's the similarity when NeNe was popping off white refrigerator girl let's get you a home very that energy peak peak and that's one of my tweets that I feel like is like you know like regular
Starting point is 00:33:09 can I see the picture yeah yeah we have to add we'll add it in the dump yeah you're literally in the middle and the closest
Starting point is 00:33:18 they tagged everybody else you look amazing Tamas girl do you hate that when someone's just talking about your looks you're like
Starting point is 00:33:25 wait I have substance no girl objectify me down what you were like I don't do this or not you know objectify me down
Starting point is 00:33:34 also another title for I'm not mad at that thank you okay Marie, do you have any tweets that you... The last tweet that I tweeted? Or you just want me to read something that I tweeted?
Starting point is 00:33:46 Yeah. Okay. The last thing that I tweeted was on November 16th, 2024. And I wrote, who's struggling more, Netflix or Tyson? Because it kept glitching. It was like... I was like... We love that.
Starting point is 00:34:02 It was like... We love that. That was good, friend. Yeah. You really know how to bring it together, friend. I can't even find my tweets. Like, how do you do that? What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:34:14 I can't find my tweets. Girl, you ain't been on Twitter that long? No, no. And I have 29,000 followers. Girl. Oh, you be on Twitter. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:25 So this one, this was a long time ago, but brownies with or without nuts. The nuts are unnecessary and fuck up my chewing flow. Brings nothing to the table except chaos. individuals who want nuts in their brownies are unstable in cheating relationships. They went viral.
Starting point is 00:34:41 Period. I do what I can. I saw my sister at 29 now. Yeah, brownies and nuts. I don't really like nuts in anything, honestly. Yeah, no.
Starting point is 00:34:49 I mean, this little snack had nuts in it that I just had. It was nasty boots. Nasty boots. I don't like it. It's not for me. And, well, also,
Starting point is 00:34:58 you know what? I think, like, the internet, it just, I'm trying to figure out when it was peak, when it was like, oh this is a safe space and i think it's when like christian louboutins was a big deal
Starting point is 00:35:11 so what's that like the 2010s 2000 that was prada down 2010 yeah 2010 i think that was a when they had that specific filter that when you when you do on instagram where you're like it's kind of orangey i forgot what it's called sepia sepia yeah sepia used to be that girl Yeah, I think it was like, okay, this is like vintage. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I took this photo today, but maybe I took it in 1932. Yeah. Sepia sometimes gives a wade in the water.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Sepia gives John Legend's voice. Yeah. John Legend's voice. Yeah. Right? Yeah, yeah. Like, we struggled, but we got the shot. We got the shot.
Starting point is 00:35:57 We might need that. It's a good clip. We struggled, but we got the shot. uh is there any time that you've seen a friend tweet something and it made you be like i don't know if i like you like i remember uh you know i'm not speaking of the person's name but i remember they were tweeting this person was tweeting crazy about the bear and they were just like this is not chicago like this doesn't make sense like they were just they kept talking about the bear and our our our beloved io is in it and it's just like no slander on the beer yeah our girl is doing it
Starting point is 00:36:33 in the in the show and let's talk about that like that's that's it's kind of like probably the fans of queer like yeah can we just uplift this because we need more of this or more of this person so quiet quiet on set damn yeah so that maybe that's how no i felt i'll stand beside your tweets about it having never seen the movie i just saw the trailer and i was like okay yeah and i like daniel craig yeah i mean he was really good in it sure like that you don't know sure i saw you know he's snatching he's snatching nominations left and right right now because of it but like i think being i think being in this industry and then talking about people or things it's a tough one especially if you're doing it on a platform like twitter because it
Starting point is 00:37:22 could come off shady you know what i was thinking yeah nicole kimmon is doing press right now for baby girl okay and there's a clip of her that's going viral from pop crave who is also a twitter page being like hi ah where where pop crave ah and she's like huh she's like who what pop crave and then she starts laughing because she's like oh okay and for people who know pop crave pop crave is like they post all of the things like all of like the high profile things on twitter And the fact that Nicole Kidman doesn't know that just shows, I feel like, how detached from social media she is, which I think I want to be like. I want that. I want to be like that.
Starting point is 00:38:01 That is beautiful. But do you really think Nicole Kidman, who AMC, goddess, okay? We come to this place for magic. Mother of movies. Yes. Is really sitting on, like, Twitter talking about, oh, Pop Crave. No. no she's and and that's what i'm talking about is like if you are that big of a star yeah or the
Starting point is 00:38:22 president you should not be on there like that you should be having an assistant yeah when we hear their copy it sounds like oh somebody who's an intern or assistant wrote that yeah not coming from you because that's the thing about twitter a lot of us learn that some of our faves can't spell oh can't read can't read it's hard can't can't be read remember when amber um rose and kanye were going at it and she called him in a finger in the booty ass bitch oh she did they took that and ran with it honey they they were like oh god yeah that's she said oh she said i'm sorry did i hurt your feelings and he was like that's not okay amber don't kink shame our king well i don't remember what he was saying but whatever he was
Starting point is 00:39:12 saying i think he deserved it at the at the time i mean from someone who is a finger in a booty ass bitch like that's not a read i said a fax yeah and now what but kanye was like yeah no he only tweets in caps oh my god but is there anything about twitter that you like yes let's say positives positives like for me it was always like watching something live and live oh yeah yes because it's like we're all watching all involved we're all watching the halftime show we're all watching the grammys we're all watching the inauguration and why did j-lo say that yeah didn't you didn't you have some stuff go viral when like bernie bernie sanders was sitting in the chair.
Starting point is 00:39:59 Oh, my God. With the gloves. I posted something and people were like... Sitting alone in the VIP. Yeah. With the winter coat zipped off.
Starting point is 00:40:07 You were like, Bernie was like, he has something else to do. He was going to the post office after this. Yeah, he was just passing through. That was a tweet.
Starting point is 00:40:15 Yeah. It was really good. But that photo went viral. Like, we were putting Bernie in the boat with Sandra Bullock. Oh, my God. Oh, for, um,
Starting point is 00:40:24 what is it called? Bird, bird, bird... Bird box. Bird box. What happened to a burqa? Great memes. I like when things get meme-ified. I think Abbott Elementary, they do a great job of memeing that.
Starting point is 00:40:38 I think making fun in a polite way, like cute, is something that we're like, ha, ha, ha. We're all laughing. We're all in it. I think I could appreciate Twitter for that. But it's lost the plot. It's lost the plot. Yeah, down. Now people are paying to be verified because they took away all the checks.
Starting point is 00:40:56 Oh, that also took it down a notch when it's like, well, when Elon bought it, it was like, well, I'm a go. I'm a head out. And if you have a blue check, then you can get paid if your stuff goes viral. Well, oh, that's how people monetize Twitter. But they're paying for Twitter. Yeah. Now. Now.
Starting point is 00:41:15 OK. Yeah. Like if you have to pay for it to get paid. That's dumb. So people engagement farm. No, thank you. Which is what is cool. and i you know i think the making the money of this stuff has taken away from the fun because
Starting point is 00:41:28 when i was having the most fun the money was just happening but now it's like that's the that's got to be on your brain constantly like how how are we gonna get this paper how are we gonna get that bag how are we gonna make this content the content creation of it all and so it's just not i think that's what's driving so many people now and it's and that's what that's is missing the storytelling it's like what can i do to like blow up when it's like just just live life yeah then you'll blow up tell us a cute story yeah that's the one thing that i do like about tiktok they have this viral uh moment now this this trend where it's like a muppet and people are saying like the worst times that has ever happened they just keep using slides of the
Starting point is 00:42:12 same muppet the video that had me like crying in my eye is not crying in my eye which is like crying in my mouth crying on my nipples um but this boy he goes to the gas station he comes out he goes to the bathroom he's not sitting on the toilet but he you know he got his butt out he's like all of a sudden he feels like this burning sensation in the crack of his butt what a bee has stung him in his butt he gets up he comes out he's telling his parents like a bee stung me and they're all laughing because they're like how is this not a funny moment but then he's like he's feeling ill he's feeling very sick he is allergic to bees oh my god he just did not know that until this moment
Starting point is 00:43:06 Stung in his ass Damn And so he's in his car With his He's fortunate So he's His parents are in one car His grandparents are in
Starting point is 00:43:14 Another car They're like He can't breathe He's Literally his throat Is closing up How does he know A bee stung him in the butt
Starting point is 00:43:22 Cause If my butt starts burning At a gas station I'm like Oh I must No cause then you know The bee He must like
Starting point is 00:43:27 Felt the bee The bee dies And you see The bee was in the toilet So then Or he pulls Or he had to pull the bee Out his back
Starting point is 00:43:35 Oh my god So then, first of all, what's the bee doing in the bathroom? What is the bee doing? Taking a pee, taking a dump as well. The bee's like, I mean, the bee was like, hold up, I'm in here too. The bee's that occupant. It's like, you know when you're in the store and you try to reach, hey, I'm in here. The bee is like, I'm not decent.
Starting point is 00:43:57 So then he can't breathe. So his parents, they're in a car. He's like, okay, we're going to the emergency room. And then his grandparents are in another car. They're driving. They're trying to get there as fast so he doesn't literally die from this bee sting. They're on the way to the hospital. They get to the hospital. They're like, OK, they rush him. They tell the doctors what happened. They get a phone call. Grandparents got in a car accident all the way to the ambulance.
Starting point is 00:44:24 So they have to go. They're going to another hospital. They took their grandparent to another hospital. His dad and mom had to leave him to go to this other hospital. Bee butt? Yes. That's a gag. They were like, you got a bee sting. You'll be fine, right?
Starting point is 00:44:38 You're in the hospital. We got to go to the grandparents. Why didn't they just take the grandparents to the same hospital? I don't know, because they had two different cars. Because I guess they were doing like a family trip or whatever. Could have been a one-stop shop. Right. Okay, so then they go to the parents.
Starting point is 00:44:50 The grandfather survives, whatever. And then, you know, the son, he's okay. He's fine. Two weeks later, grandfather dies. Like, that is wild. Wait, but the grandfather was fine. The grandfather was fine But then
Starting point is 00:45:04 I think died I don't know I can't remember If it was from the It was a bee It was a bee It was a bee It was a bee
Starting point is 00:45:12 I said why did you Tell this story But it was Every slide I was like No No You were in golf
Starting point is 00:45:18 I said yes More of this Tell us the worst time In your life I need it It's beautiful I do love I do love a good story
Starting point is 00:45:28 But I think everybody You need it Right Give me some twists Some turns Say something And then if it's it's funny, then that's a plus. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:36 Do you have like if you were to do a Zola moment on Twitter? Yeah. Do you have a story that's like each moment you're like, what? What are we on the edge of our seat? No, you got to keep going. Yeah. What's your resitisa? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:48 What is my resitisa? It would probably be like like something from high school. You know, when I was in high school. Yeah. Yeah. I went to high school in Manhattan. Oh, yeah. And I already know.
Starting point is 00:45:58 Did you go to an alternative high school? What's that mean? That means the kids probably can't really read that. No, no. The kids needed special attention. And they need to be in a smaller school. Special ed. No, it was not special ed, Marie.
Starting point is 00:46:15 I went to an alternative high school. Mind your business and watch your mouth. So the alternative high schools are the ones where you would have a uniform. No, no uniform. But I went to school in a physical city. And so I went there and, you know, all the kids that went there were cool. They were wearing like Air Maxes. They're wearing name brand jeans.
Starting point is 00:46:38 Baby fat. Apple bottom down. All of that. And they're cool. These are cool city kids. I was not cool. You know, I was wearing the bear buffer. I was not wearing a North Face.
Starting point is 00:46:50 Oh, the Marshalls one? Yes. And I would have bear and then my mom smoked cigarettes. So I had a couple of holes in mine. And I smelled like cigarettes. it was not it was not the look but I went to
Starting point is 00:47:00 alternative school I would have been friends with you you think you think oh 1000% I had one friend that I was cool with
Starting point is 00:47:07 she her name was Jordana she looked like like a Honduran Aaliyah so we was cool oh okay
Starting point is 00:47:13 so swooping yeah so and she would dress just like Aaliyah how do you say queen of the day como se dice queen of the day
Starting point is 00:47:19 yes como se dice queen of the day not como se dice dang how do you say a tovascatos yes
Starting point is 00:47:25 como se dice So I went They ran me up out of there They ran me up out of there I ended up like A girl that I was friends with You know somebody She lost her virginity to
Starting point is 00:47:43 I ended up Fooling around with And the girls were mad They were mad They were like out there They wanted to fight me back So I had to leave I had to leave
Starting point is 00:47:55 And I went to another alternative high school where they also hated me there too. Oh my God. I was like, it's me. I'm the problem,
Starting point is 00:48:01 it's me. I'm the problem, it's me. And I came in and I was wearing like a Clueless inspired outfit and this is in
Starting point is 00:48:09 Spanish Harlem so they were like, they didn't care about Clueless so I thought I was Dion but I had knee-high socks and they were like, those look orthopedic. Like it's giving grandma,
Starting point is 00:48:19 it's giving grandma, but I came in with the chunky heels and the skirt and they're like matching. You were ahead of your time. Yeah. And they did not like me because I was friends with another girl, my friend Kawana, who was like, she was the it, light-skinned girl, light eyes, dated a guy named Otis.
Starting point is 00:48:34 And they were like, how dare you? And they hated her. And then I came in. I was like, best friend. You know how cool you have to be to date a guy named Otis? Otis, yeah. He was a cutie, too. And for people to be like, that's an it couple.
Starting point is 00:48:46 Otis is an old black man name. Ain't nobody coming to see you, Otis. Yes. Except Kawana. Kawana was coming to see Otis. they were the cutest couple everybody hated them but
Starting point is 00:48:57 they oh I had I had a time they tried to run me out of there too they somebody threw Skittles at me all day
Starting point is 00:49:03 like I was how big was the bag of Skittles family size they were throwing and they only threw a certain colors and then at the end
Starting point is 00:49:11 of the day they threw the rest of the bag which was just orange and purple which is supposed to be the worst one no orange is good
Starting point is 00:49:18 orange I mean that's what Nikki says what yeah orange and purple is the worst one. Yeah, and her rider is like only green Skittles.
Starting point is 00:49:27 I get it. I did not like getting hit with the orange and purples. But I knew I turned around and I was like, who the fuck do the Skittles? And then it was like these two girls
Starting point is 00:49:38 that was just like, what? Oh, damn. I was like, oh. You was giving Penny proud. Yeah, I was giving Penny proud. Because when you said
Starting point is 00:49:46 the girls are like this, I thought, yeah, the grosses are like this. Yeah, the grosses are like this. The grosses are like this. The grosses are like this. And I said, yeah,
Starting point is 00:49:53 Who the fuck They was waiting outside Ready to jump Sidney how many alternative high schools did you go to I just went to two After that one I was like well I just gotta stay I gotta stay and we gotta work it out There was a girl named Mushy
Starting point is 00:50:09 Her name was Mushy and she was trying to mush me For sure I already can see what Mushy looked like in my mind Mushy looked like one of the baddie south girls Yeah she always had like a slick something Like a slick ponytail she had the bang that you know
Starting point is 00:50:25 was curled when you used to like curler that was like the pink soft one you know that kind of roller she would do that it was that tight yeah it was that
Starting point is 00:50:32 that's mushy that's mushy and she had the like the Vanson leather and she would she would have the Jabot jeans and she was
Starting point is 00:50:40 yeah she was a bully and I I was like you are not you are not gonna do nothing to me and then I had to stay at school till
Starting point is 00:50:48 8pm cause they were like the blood is outside 8pm Damn, bro, you couldn't sneak out the bag? No. I said, well, you know, they don't care about school. They're not doing their homework, so they're just waiting outside.
Starting point is 00:50:58 Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're doing double duds. They was waiting for you at the door. They playing spades. They was waiting. Those are the kids that bought the one notebook to school with no pen. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nothing.
Starting point is 00:51:08 Yeah. Backpack empty. That's funny. Just vibes. But you know what, Sydney? You had to go through all of that to become the nice person that you are now, because you could be mushy. Yeah, that's it.
Starting point is 00:51:19 But you're too cute to be mushy. No, I had to I had to really just lean on, you know, being nice to people because I know that nice gets you a lot further than being mean. But do people respect nice? I respect nice. You respect nice. Yeah. Tomas. Yeah, me and all.
Starting point is 00:51:41 Tomas Matos. That sounds like somebody. They all. That sounds like somebody. I prefer a nice person. I was only friends with nice people growing up. Well, you seem like a nice person. Yeah, and I think I'm nice.
Starting point is 00:51:52 I feel like you seem nice, but I could also see like a Regina George in your past. Is it the muscles? No, I swear that's not. I think that's what people perceive me as before they know me. Yeah. Because that is what I give off. Really? You give off like pretty, cute, like underhand.
Starting point is 00:52:11 I give off, don't talk to me. Really? That's what people have told me. I don't think, not with eyebrows like that. Eyebrows is like. Cummins up to me. I really want You know
Starting point is 00:52:24 I'm like Hey party Let's go But I think I understand What you're saying Because people have Told me that
Starting point is 00:52:30 Like I give off Mean girl But that's just Because I I get scared I get nervous And that's the front I put up
Starting point is 00:52:38 But I think At my core I'm nice No you are You're very nice That's the You is for so should we do messages and get we'll probably get your advice with the messages oh yeah period
Starting point is 00:53:09 yeah yeah we didn't talk about porn on twitter how do you feel about the porn on twitter that's the only thing that's that you're living for that keeping me on twitter is my is my porn thread isq oh you have a thread yeah girl that's that's where i watch my porn on twitter it's so sad because if i get rid of my twitter uh where am i gonna watch my porn i see a lot of the waterfalls on there like when i would when the last time i was on there it would be a waterfall like the and that's when girls are squirting oh period yeah and they there's this one girl who's she's i mean i don't are we can i say that on here i yeah she's she's squirting in you i think a subaru she's in the front seat of a subaru she's i mean so much moisture work i'm like how much water do
Starting point is 00:53:59 you drink like i i want aspire to be that hydrated yeah yeah yeah hydrated down so i don't even look at it in a sexual way, I just look at it like, damn, I need to drink more water. Yeah, fascinating. Or Gatorade or Pedialyte or something. To squirt? Yeah, it makes me want to be a better person. Well, drink up, babe. It's a little water. That's still
Starting point is 00:54:20 water. That's the host. The podcast is sponsored by water. Squirt. Oh, yeah. Sponsored by squirt. Okay, what's the message? This is going to be after this, but whatever. This Christmas has already happened. when you hear this but this is the the one that we have i refuse to go to family christmas that's
Starting point is 00:54:42 the title hey i'm danny first time messaging so small backstory and i love a backstory when they send us okay i love that period small backstory i i have tried my whole life to please my mother in any way example i was married to a man for five years i've been gay my whole life but my mom has made it so hard skip to this year i finally left my ex-husband my father and grandmother passed away so i was in a low place by february by february period should you go to an i was actually in the national honor society in april i met the most amazing woman and we've now been together for going on seven months as of christmas i talked her into going to thanksgiving to my mom's because my mom said she'd act right and she even offered us a room to stay in
Starting point is 00:55:30 i don't want to stay at my parents with my boo that's um i was shocked at this so i decided to give it a try my girlfriend agreed and thought that was a big step for my mom so we go to thanksgiving and the entire time my mom made us feel very uncomfortable with the remarks she would make and say different little comments my girlfriend and i decided we didn't feel comfortable and didn't feel comfortable to even go back for any visit much less a holiday i haven't told my mom i'm not coming for christmas or new year's but i feel horrible about it because it's christmas then on the 30th is my dad's birthday then new year's then a week later is the first anniversary of his death yada yada should i feel bad about not spending this time with my mother or do i feel good
Starting point is 00:56:12 about staying home with the love of my life and making our first christmas and new traditions the best ever here's a picture of us i don't see the picture a picture didn't attach you must have sent this from my android um do i should i feel bad about not spending this time with my mother or do i feel good about staying with my boo what do we think you know i i'm looking forward to creating my own sort of holiday traditions so i i say you know start that next chapter boo also you was just there for thanksgiving yeah yeah i feel like give give mom one of the holidays she got one she she messed it up she don't get the next one period that's the cool thing about being an adult you get to do what you want to do that part oh that's the only good thing about how bad
Starting point is 00:57:00 do you want to be homophobic do you want to be so homophobic that you don't see your family if that's it so be it stand 10 toes down on your homophobia babe but like if you're gonna do that then you're gonna miss out on the person or or you know me has that ever happened to you oh yeah when i came out um i got kicked out when did you come out i came out at 16 oh that's so young yeah and i live with my grandparents now oh yeah they was not having it well that i was with my mom at that time so my mom kicked me out and then i moved in with my grandparents and i still live with my grandparents today yeah i'm in my childhood bedroom are you sleeping in a twin xl yeah girl in a twin bed i'm not doing this with you like you really sleep in a twin bed yeah my
