I think the whole intro was a mess. The intro was crazy. We don't intro nobody like that. First of all, dropping credits on the podcast is crazy. She asked. She asked. But what she was giving, yeah. I'm looking at you.

But what she was giving, I didn't like. So that's why I said just go. I tried to pivot her, but it didn't work neither. The ship, girl. She started off with a ship. I was like, girl, just tell her when you can see me. Guys, tell me am I wrong. If I say that my friend is a ship in friendship, she keeps the friends together.

um my mess is i'm tired of being scared of nail techs hairstylists people who are doing services because if you let them know that you don't like something they're looking at you like how dare you and it's like hey i don't want to walk out here looking like this now we could do two things you could either fix this or i could just not pay you which one you want girl when have you ever gotten something done and not paid somebody for it? Never happened, but I would love to have that energy. I see people do it on TikTok and they're just like, and I walked out and I was like, fuck, that is my leader. I would love to do that. But I went to the nail salon. I gave them a design, but you know, it's hard for me to pick out a design. So I finally picked one out. She

was like, Hey, you're going to have, cause I showed her four and she's like, well, which one do you want? I was like, well, which one do you like? She's like, why are you asking the lady You was doing your nails what she liked. Exactly. So I started off, she was already Aggie because she was like, so you don't know what you want. So I don't want to have to play this. And this is 10.30 in the morning. So then I picked something that I was like, okay, this is demure, this is cute.

And then when she started painting my nails, I was like, oh, I don't look good with brown. Brown is a base. So it kind of looked like my fingers was extended. Pointy brown fingers. Yeah. And so then it was like pink in the middle. It just didn't look good. And so she had did all the nails.

Even after I was making these faces, like, I don't know. Yeah, no, I don't think, yeah. Girl, I need to see the picture. It was brown with pink in the middle? Yeah, it was supposed to be like a nude-ish, but she got like a caramel, like the same color as the chair, that brown. And then the pink. And then when I told her I didn't like it, she was like, it looks good.

And then there was other people chiming in. I said, ah, y'all not gaslighting me this early. Not when I'm paying $150 to get my nails and toes done. $150 for the nails and the toes? Oh, that's pretty cheap, friend. That's low. That's why she was doing a bad job. Nails and toes is $150?

Gel X? Girl, that's why she was using alternate colors. So I'm the villain now because I'm not paying enough? I'm just saying you get what you pay for, and you got somebody. This is why this is not a safe space. This is mess. This is absolute mess. I need to see the pictures that you showed the lady.

Now you turn into me. As somebody who, you know I've been getting my nails done. Girl, $150 is low is all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying. How much is this supposed to be? I pay over $150 for just my hands. So for your feet and your hands to be included, and that's the price, I'm like, well, you know, you kind of getting, you kind of getting. You said I got to get my nails.

But why do you let her do all the nails and then say no? I feel like after the first nail, you knew it wasn't popping. You needed to say. Maybe two. Maybe two because you see them together. That's trust the process because, you know, sometimes you have to do that. Don't say I'm the only one that's like, oh, at the end. But who got time to trust the process on a nail set?

Yeah, 10 is too much. After they hit the one strike, that's what they do. And you be like, oh, no, I know for a fact that's not going. I don't want that. I would give you two because maybe you want to see it next to the other one and be like, actually, no, I really don't like it. But also I know that, Mike, I don't have the most appealing hands. So sometimes you got to do the whole thing and then I can see it through. You got to see it through, my boy.

You don't gots to see it through, my boy. Well, that's why you had to pay her, and that's why she had an attitude. Yeah. Because she did your nails twice. Yeah. So then I was going to pick another design, but I said, you know what? I could already tell by the stank face that she was making that she don't want to do a design. So I said, you know what?

Just make it regular. Just do it regular. What color are your toes? White. Okay. So I should have just did white? I mean, you know, sometimes it's cool to just hit it with the match. I don't match.

I think match is like, are we going on vacay? Like, what's the deal? Like, I don't need to match. Nobody's seeing my toes right now. So when you had them green nails the other week, you had white toes? Yeah. Oh, okay. So you always get white toes.

Okay. All right. White toes go with everything. No, I'm just asking. I just wanted to know. So now I know my friend. How's your day? I think white toes go with everything.

How's your day going? My day is cool. I'm chilling. You know, I woke up. Are your glasses inside? I asked you if I should keep them on. What you hiding from? Marie, do you have any mess for us this morning?

Girl, I need you to send us the photos of all the nails that you showed them so we can throw them in the dump for this episode. Well, I will. It's just like, you know, I want to be that person that shows my personality through my nails and jewelry and stuff. But I have ADHD, so it really is overwhelming. I can't do it. Well, prior to going to the nail salon, if you know that, start early.

start like going online and saving photos that you like at the time and then scroll through them before you go to the nail lady i did i did and i scrolled through all of them in front of her i put them in my stories and i asked the people who follow me to pick my next nail design i'd be like should i get this this or this i don't want to do it no more i'm just going out with my nubs my lesbian like just nothing there and just like you oh you're just a little girl now yours is not lesbian at all oh no but i did feel like a lesbian when i got them done Let me see. I don't get no color.

She said no color. I said no. And even on the toes, just hit it with a natural nail. Oh. I was feeling the same way. You was feeling frustrated with the whole surgery process of getting my nails and toes done and taking it off. And then the loud people in the salon. It's just too much.

So now I just go, and I pay $60 for a mani-pedi, and I move on. Let me see your hands. Is this clear powder? It's just a clear nail polish that they put on, just a natural. And you know what else who's taking up all the space? It's the men that are in the salon, like, paying for the girls. I'm like, hey, you can Zelle her, Venmo her. Why?

You coming up here showing us that you paying? Mm-hmm. Okay. So pay for all of us. If you big dog, big ball, be like that. They really could have Venmo'd that money. They didn't have to be there. They did not have to be at the salon.

Well, sometimes the salon is cash only, so they got to show up with the cash. Girl. That's true, but just, like, send her the money and she take out the cash. I don't know, but them just sitting there looking all doofy and like, ooh. Or they stay at your salon. Yeah, what nail salon you go to is, I'm concerned. The guys at my nail salon pop in and pop out. They be sitting and looking.

It's like, sir, are you looking at my toes or are you looking at her toes? Because it's going to cost. Because my toes trained wrecked, okay, even after the polish is done. I don't feel comfortable. Anyhoo, that's my mess. You know what my mess is? Thank you for sharing your mess, Sydney. My mess is my grandma just passed away last week.

Oh my God, wait. Rest in peace, you didn't even tell us. I'm telling you guys right now, my grandma passed away last week. Wait, wait. On the podcast, this mess. That is mess. My grandma passed away last week.

This your mama's? This my dad's mom. Are you okay? You've been seeing me and I'm fine. But my grandma passed away and my dad is estranged with his family. And so I don't remember the last time I saw my grandmother. Oh, that's why.

Right. So this is the energy. And her funeral is, my dad told me it was on Saturday. I spoke to my aunt, his sister. She told me it's on Friday. I spoke to my mom. She's like, well, they told him Saturday. And he called her twice and she has not responded to him.

So I don't know if we're going to go. Now, I'm like, are you trying to repair the family relationship or not? also my aunt is one of my dad's five siblings so one person not responding to you you have four other people you can reach out to tati you don't know this side of the i'm crying you don't know this side of the okay sorry girl x me out you just found out the grandma passed away babe like read the room i'm in the mix no you're not you're not in the mix i'm fairly in the mix you're right my bad i'm sorry i apologize but my dad like he don't really rock with his siblings and

but he don't rock with none of them and i'm like i was talking to my mom yesterday and i was like if he's not cool with them it's him my dad is mad about something that happened before i was born that his brother did, and he refuses to forgive these people. And I'm like, so he's just going to hold on to this forever? That's a mess. I'm with Poppy. Babe, that's a mess. What's up?

So you're just going to be mad at the whole family. I stand on it. Because if one person is doing the shenanigans, right, the other people know about the shenanigans. They're in on it. And if they don't correct it or they have not, like, tried to diffuse it or fix it, y'all in cahoots. Y'all all know about the drama and y'all in on it.

So I don't trust none of y'all. It also just depends what it is that happened. But I could see dealing with my family, the older and older I get, I'm choosing. These could go. Thank you. I don't know. If Poppy said all of them, they all got it. I'm standing with Poppy.

I don't know. I'll be looking at my dad like, I didn't see. So you got to get to know the siblings then. Are you going to watch your way to get to know and see? Yeah, go do the work. Well, I'm going to be out of town for the future. Well, that's what I was thinking when you said Friday and Saturday. I said both of those days.

You ain't going to be here. Neither of those days work for me. I'm going to send some flowers. Yeah, yeah. I'll call my auntie and everything. I'm cool, more cool with them than he is, but he doesn't even want to get on the phone with them. And my mom, I think what it is, is the beef is from when my mom and dad met, they didn't like my mom. and my mom is very much

yeah okay well then I don't like none of y'all either and you don't need to be around my son and so that's the beginning of all of this

but like all of this time has passed and I've met my aunts and I've met my uncles and I'm like y'all still like it seems like he'll forgive them

and then he'll be back mad at them he'll be good with them and then he'll be mad because what happens is you forgive somebody and then all they gotta do is one little fucking thing

and baby we made the score zero you get the flashback you're like oh that's why wasn't fucking with you in the first place and it's hard to forgive somebody who keep doing some stuff that you just like all right i'm good yeah yeah but as the as the daughter as the niece yeah i don't have a relationship with most of that i don't really have a relationship with that side

of my family because he don't want a relationship with them so that's why i'm saying you don't know them it's not you being x'd out i too have been x'd out so i i think that's messy you want to cross the river do you want to see them do you want to i can't see them this weekend i'm not but me and my sister like when my cousin on that side got married in miami last year me and my people me that's right we we talked to all the aunties i mean we were late to the wedding but we met everybody else i don't know i just feel like as we get older yes it's easy to x people out and decide what you don't want or do on in your life but also as you get older and people start to pass away i feel like you got to let some of this stuff go and my dad is like absolutely

not and my mom is the battery in his back and she's charging it up she the battery in his the only thing is it's just it's difficult because it's like family are not people that you choose and they feel the most entitled to being having access in your life and so it's just it really just depends on what it is that transpired it is unfortunate that y'all get the you know ramifications of that but now y'all grown enough to hit them up if that's what y'all want to do If that's what you want to do, sis, if you want to go against Poppy's wishes, then go do it. But I don't know if it's—would it be against his wishes? Yeah, he hates—it's not his wishes.

He just doesn't want to talk to them. So, I mean, I called my aunt because they left some—they sent me some stuff for Christmas. So I make sure to call her to talk to her. And it was a—we had a nice conversation. Oh, she sent gifts, huh? Look at that. Well, maybe she would, yeah. Because aunties are different than sisters.

That's what I'm saying. And that's why my son had a phone from the age of three because he was talking to a lot of people that I'm good on. But I knew that their relationship not going to be the relationship that I have. So I'm like, go ahead and rock out. If they treat you right and y'all cool and y'all loving, pop off. But that ain't what it is for you. Yeah. And then when they do you look like they did me.

Don't come talking to me. I don't want to hear nothing about it. I don't want to hear it. Well, what makes you think they're going to do the same thing? No, no, no. I'm not saying you. I'm just saying for me. It's potential, though.

But that is the character. that the character has shown. So, you know. I don't know. All I said to my mom was if everybody gets along with everybody else and he's the odd man out,

I think the problem is him. That's what I said to my mom and she was like, it's them. Yes, my mom. Stand by your man. I'm here with my man as well. She a believer.

It's them. I believe it. Let me tell you, knowing family, it could be 20 of them, girl. Yes, girl. They running packs. Yes.

Girl, I mean, but the back story is my mom don't be standing beside my dad. So that's what's so crazy. Remember she didn't invite him to the wedding? Yeah, but for your mom to stand with your dad, then something got to be right. It's just them holding on to some stuff that happened in the late 80s, early 90s.

Brothers are a mess. They are. They are. A mess. And I could see if, like, my dad was happy. Like, he moved through his life, like, happy about all the choices he made. But I'm like, you don't seem that happy to me. So maybe you need to at least call one sister.

You think that'll change his, like... I think so. I don't know. I feel like every time you call family up, there's more problems. More money, more problems. Yeah. They do push your buttons more than anything. That's just how I feel.

is Google reviews yeah I write them all the time it do get messy sometimes and yeah that's what it is

Why do you think Google reviews are messy? Well, first of all, the ones I read sometimes are 100%. Like, it'd be like, remember we was just out and I was like, the lady got mad. She wrote one star and she was like, they charged me $160 cancellation fee. And I was just like, so yeah, people always come with their emotions. But for that, when you make a reservation to a place that has a cancellation fee, before you confirm that you're making it, they tell you, hey, it's $40 a person cancellation fee. Because I texted y'all. Hey, it's $40 a person if we cancel.

So this lady canceled four top and lost $160. $160 is crazy. But they told you they wasn't playing. They're standing on a cancellation. Yeah, but I write reviews all the time. One time I almost wanted to fight this lady. I wanted to go get a facial. Whoa, whoa, whoa.

We already started with fighting? Love it. Whoa. Mess. Yeah, that's what it was. Like, what else is it going to be? Oh, I guess we could have had a conversation. No, no, no, no.

Yeah. Yeah, I mean, and you could have chat GP Teeter. Well, I just feel like when you get upset to the point where you're showing up and nobody's answering the door, we fighting. When you pulled up. Yo, let me tell you. So you know they have those little apps, like the little, like it's like, you know how they have it for the hair, the stylist, whatever.

So I think this one is called like Vanguard. I don't even know. It starts with a V. So I use it to do my, I want a facial. It's in the vicinity of my neighborhood. Let's do it. And they take the money. You book the appointment.

they take the money like the right away right away they like boom which i already feel not a deposit but the whole amount the whole amount we haven't even done the services you ain't even did the services they like you booked but it was for like the next day so for me it was just like listen i'm sure i want to do this let's go i'll be there my money not gonna be wasted boom no problem y'all i pull up on a day of the appointment nobody answering the door oh is it at a private residence no it's like at a bit it's like a public business building so then i'm like buzzing buzzing finally somebody let me in but like not in the other door so now i'm stuck in between the door like somebody was clearly playing they hit it fast and so then finally i'm calling calling calling no

answer next thing you know i get a text hey i didn't confirm your appointment hey the money out of my account was the confirmation that's just what i've already been paid but also why are you messaging me like this and letting me in halfway through the door and not being professional and meeting me at my eye to let me know, hey boo, it messed up. Well, let's talk about this real quick because I'm sure the people are wondering, what time the day before did you

make the appointment? So say like maybe two in the afternoon for one o'clock the next day. Okay, so like 24 hours. It's not like you did it that night. Right, no. So that's what I'm saying. So if you couldn't confirm the appointment or if it was not going to be you know, like handled, then

I think by the end of the day, 5 p.m. Send me an email. Hey, sis, don't come tomorrow or morning of 8 a.m. Hey, morning of turns out you made this last minute. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I didn't have time to confirm this. Can you come another day? Right.

But she was making it seem like I'm harassing her. Hey, the money's out my account. So I was going to get around to processing your refund that I've never heard of that in my life. Yeah. With no communication. With no. And then now you treating me like I'm outside. It was just so it gets rough.

but i wrote a nice little review and i and i had a video of me sitting in the middle of the door you you do catch everything i mean i want to ask amina does capture everything in real time you take pictures you're doing videos because i would go home and shoot the video you did it in the vestibule in the vestibule absolutely absolutely because i just wanted to let the people know in the review how it went down i snapshotted the confirmation of like the payment and her text message and I put it all in my review. You went to your bank account and said money. You saw the little line. Because people need to know. Amina, that happened to me recently.

So I made an appointment to get my hair done. Kind of a half up, half down, like how Sidney be doing hers. But I had braids in at the time. So I had the whole week to take my braids out, and I didn't. But I was like, oh, I need to move this appointment. So I called the woman. I emailed her. I'm texting.

No response for the days leading up to the appointment. I'm like, okay, well, she hasn't responded. But I went to a place. They took my braids down for me. but i could tell that i wasn't gonna be done in time to make it to my appointment in time so i get a call my appointment's at 12 she calls me at 1205 i still got like 20 braids to take out right oh wow right but whatever we was almost done maybe it wasn't 20 it was like well you weren't there it was like 10 i wasn't there yet but i was trying to move my appointment to like

12 she may hit her up prior to anyway i've been calling her i've been emailing her i sent text messages and every time i called it would be like this call the mailbox is full the mailbox is full so i couldn't even leave a voicemail she calls me but i texted she called me at 1205 hey are you still coming to your appointment i was like oh my god i've been trying to reach you i'm i'm still taking my braids down can i come at 12 30 she was like no and your refund is non your your deposit is non-refundable. Click, hangs up the phone. I'm in the chair, hot.

Because 24 hours ago, you was either trying to move it or you could have just canceled it. Mind you, she called me on the number that I had been calling. So you have my number. You got the text. You got the email.

Okay, hold on now. Let me get down to the bottom of this. So this is somebody you go to. I've never been to this one before. You've never been to her. So I'm a first-time client. So she don't even know you. Babe.

She don't even know your Instagram. Mama. You could have went live. girl and tagged her but my sister said that as soon as because i called my sister right after and she was like you should go on instagram and let people know her yeah because that's rude people don't know that the power that i have but also the click is crazy your your deposit is not refundable click oh my god mind you i had something i was i was leaving i think i was leaving for jamaica the next day so i needed my hair done and she oh babe i'm professional that's

crazy but you know what stuff like that make me hot so when you do your reviews is to help other people or is it for you to get your rocks off it depends it depends on how the service is like for that day with the skincare that was revenge that was for me to get my rocks off but other times if you see we go out all the time and we just always looking and seeing what the reviews say oh should we go there should we go not and then that's what i decide based on so then i was like maybe you should start writing them since you read them and they help you so much so this is also me paying it forward. Amina's reviews are classic. But also sometimes it's definitely

sometimes it's humorous. I'll write little funny ones but. I wouldn't say 100% of your reviews are funny. Some of them are serious like hey 90%. You don't have to come here but if you do like. You don't have to come here. That's a great opening line. That's what a review is. A review

is you tell your experience and would you recommend? Is it a highly recommend? Or is it a somewhat recommend? Yeah or like real talk If you're not in the area, don't come out your way for this. Now, I think there needs to be... And that's a good... If you read that and you was like, oh, I feel her on that.

I'm not coming out my way. I think that's good information to have. Yeah, but also I think we need to know the background of people reviewing. Like, because you... Like, if I would know, like, your stats and stuff, then I would can... Then I could be like, oh, this person is really serious about her. But other people just be playing. But you can read the review and see if they playing.

You can read if this is something personal or if this is something that, oh, okay, no, this is like 100% how this business handles their affairs. Oh, yeah. Sometimes, because, you know, like now when people do something like on the internet that people don't like, they'll come together and review that place negatively. Yeah. Like the McDonald's where Luigi got caught in. Oh, my God. I wish I was a part of it. They was giving the McDonald's one-star reviews because they were like, they got rats and roaches here.

And it was like, this is because Luigi was, they do have rats. But it's also McDonald's. Like, who's reading a review at McDonald's? It's already McDonald's. But that's the thing. You can leave a review for anything. Anything and anywhere. A park, roller coasters, anything.

And what have you reviewed? List all the things you've reviewed. Anywhere my foot touch. Anything that light touches, Amina's reviewed. Yeah, everything. Nail salons, museums. Remember we went to, oh, when did I go to the museum? a museum we went to the balloon museum we went to some museum oh i definitely wrote a review about

that i was like but halfway through the project they gave up yeah the balloons was definitely given here they started off very strong like remember the first few balloon statues we saw we was like oh my god it looked like my son did it and i said no no this i mean actually i can't even disrespect him like that because he's a great artist he is it looked like somebody else son did and it was expensive it was very expensive and i lost my pandora bracelet still heard about it you put that in the girl and i sure did i said i emailed them about it and they did not respond i was very upset they were going in that balloon pit to look i mean i was praying because you know it's not until you lose something you realize how much it costs and you like boy you was really out

there like that cost twenty dollars and it was not well each charm is about something close to hundred dollars so how much was it all together it was more than six hundred dollars on my wrist now everybody's listening feels compelled to a six hundred dollar pandora charm everybody knows about pandora first you get the bracelet which is about i want to say 70 80 dollars then you have to get the clips each clip is like maybe 30 you get at least like two or three of those and then you get the charms wait the charms don't come with the clips no oh hell no you put the so like I don't understand why they get into it. You get them based on where you go.

So, like, I was getting them, like, Disney World. You get that at Disney World. Or, like, Jamaica. You get that at Jamaica. Cancun. Like, the places I travel. Sweden. That sounds like homework.

But as an indecisive person, I have to read the reviews to see if I want to go somewhere or not. I'll be reading something and I'll be like, hold on.

behind the review you don't do that in the comments sometimes people be going off in the comments and you'll be like well let me see what this person look like and they always look like what they wrote yeah i like they going this is what i will do if i if i read a review and i'm trying to question the validity i'll go and see how many other reviews they have written so now if you only wrote three reviews i know that this is something very personal but if you wrote like 57 and above or 100 and i'm like okay this person is a reviewer and they uh that that would make it valid for me So you actually care about how many reviews people have?

like as a professional swimmer you dove in with them socks and i'm trying to figure out what it was going through your mind that you it's the grippy sock you know what it was i didn't have flip-flops to transfer from the shower to the the thing so for me it was just like put the socks on and then i didn't even register getting out let's get to the more important part so you get out there was a hair so let's start from the part where y'all need to understand we walked in and they was giving us rooms and i was like oh i like the number i think three can i have the room three she was like oh well i didn't really like check and see what's good about it but i'll do that for you and set you up in there i was like perfect i get in my three come out y'all

a brand new born person but i see the hair so i come over so not too brand new because you could you can see clear now so i go over to the woman and i'm like hey oh my god it's no big issue girl but just wanted to let you know it's some hair in the tank yeah that's why it's important to go with the flow oh oh oh oh is it so i put the hair in the tank maybe we just learned that you maybe did put the hair in the tank but amina if you didn't put the hair in the tank that's not the room she was gonna put you in she hadn't prepped that room and i get all that but the way that i was saying it to her was not saying it was her fault it was just for her to be aware hey when they do clean in it they should check to get the hair that's it i wasn't i literally just

first of all I didn't even know that about you that you don't do I also didn't know that yo me and scary movies We went to go see Us, and I lost it in the air.

Some people do enjoy that. But other people do want you to shut up, which I get, but it's like. Do you get? I do.

but I'm glad that at the end of it it's always rectified for you yeah Yeah, because with them fixing it with something like, hey, here, come back. Oftentimes, I don't even write the reviews to get stuff back. But oftentimes, if I do, businesses that care about the reviews and care about their perception and their reputation, they will follow up and make it right.

Because that's what customer service truly is, in my opinion. That's true. Whenever somebody is like, oh, they didn't like this, they didn't like that, we'll take it off. Or like, you know, when I'm like, oh, I just want these people to just like have a good time. You know, I give them a couple of shots. I'll take something off the menu. I'll give them something free, like just to accommodate. And even if you do that, people still go back on that review and be like, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

It's like, hey, I gave you hush shots. Those are to hush. Hush shots. Ooh. Some friends and I decided to go see Beyonce in another country because the ticket prices were much cheaper. And we figured we'd be down for a little excursion, right? I, 33-year-old man, mostly plan the ticket purchases with one of my best friends, 36-year-old male. When buying the tickets, he mentioned he was excited because it was around his birthday. And I took this to mean that he was going to use the concert ticket as a gift to himself, okay? Oh.

That's good. After everyone gets their tickets, around six of us, he sends a text saying basically that this is his birthday trip and that he wants us to have dinner for his birthday. Now, I am fine with the birthday dinner. I love my friend and I'm happy to celebrate him. But I'm confused because we never spoke about this being a birthday trip. I hadn't said anything to him because he didn't actually ask for anything too crazy. But I'm nervous that when we actually get there, he may try to make the trip about him. Am I tripping or is this mess?

I don't know, honey. I don't know. After they go to Beyonce, they might not. Well, they're doing dinner before the concerts, which is smart because I know sometimes you do a big thing. We wiped out.
