Starting point is 00:00:55 that's what we all do everybody as artists do that they do something and they think about it later but sometimes you have a good show
Starting point is 00:01:02 and you're like oh I couldn't have done it any better than that those people are delusional those people are yeah those people are black men superstars
Starting point is 00:01:10 okay Lil Wayne exactly who looks terrible right now by the way I don't know if you've seen him recently but he looks like trash
Starting point is 00:01:17 well the lean will make you look like you leanin I mean his locks are like blonde now and they're like clumped together and he's got bald spots
Starting point is 00:01:25 so I don't know if that's the cough syrup he looks homeless but it happens he looks terrible you did great and I'm proud of you and it was amazing and it was a good show yeah but you know so Comedy Central is not really like the people who watch Comedy Central it's not really our demographic
Starting point is 00:01:41 sis right we gonna do this on the podcast we doing it up top sis and you know they listen a minute 44 hey Comedy Central hey y'all but the when I think of Comedy Central I think of like white frat dudes I think of lacrosse players that might put something in your drink like that's what i think about when i think of people who watch like that's who watches comedy central oh my god so i went up up there with some real big dick black
Starting point is 00:02:02 energy and just started talking about how terrible white men are so i know that the comments under all my videos are going to be hot garbage let me tell you the white men in this room right now sweating sweating no they look fine they're just drinking coffee with oat milk um so that's i just spent the day yesterday like why did i do that to myself no it's fine i mean i mean no black lady came up to me at the bar and she was like i thought you were really funny that's all that matters that's all you need i couldn't hear you laughing from the stage you should have got here on time so i could have seen you no no no she saw it it was great that's how i felt about when i did a clusterfest and i did my video i was like oh man this is i don't know how this is gonna be
Starting point is 00:02:39 and then uh got the comments underneath and i was like oh shit but whatever they weren't gonna love me anyway but it's fine but no one called you ugly nobody called me ugly because they can't They can't. They actually said I was pretty hot. Boom. So I'm a model now. I'm a model. Basically a model.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Right. Absolutely. Marie, what were you an expert in this week? Oh, this week I was an expert at having time. Okay. Can we talk about this? Having time. I had time to call Amazon and scream at them for not delivering my bed in a box on time.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Work. I had time. Okay. Yelled at them. And then I had time to get the $50 gift card that they promised me for my troubles. Work. and I was like so y'all said
Starting point is 00:03:18 y'all was gonna give me a hundred dollar gift card and the guy was like actually we said 50 okay and then we're still good we're still good
Starting point is 00:03:24 I mean I used it already on birthday stuff and then that I'm returning I had time to make a bunch of returns because that's the type of person I am now
Starting point is 00:03:31 I order things and I'm like they're gonna have to accept this back I had time to to get into it with this this makeup artist
Starting point is 00:03:39 this white woman she was like do you use an eye cream and I was like no not really you know my you know i'm young the melanin is keeping my eyes uh moisturized or whatever and she was like you should really look into you're never too young to use an eye cream what's she trying to say that's my like shade hold on sis hold on that's shade i said well you look your eyes look really good for 45 or whatever oh my god marie i said i don't think that i need it
Starting point is 00:04:07 she said i'm 32 i said well you should probably start using an eye cream don't come for me unless i sent it for you did i send for you no i did not i had time to sit in a car that comedy central ordered for me that was that took me legit two blocks um that's beautiful i was like i could take the train i was like no i'm gonna take the car i had time friend do you want these brass knuckles i feel like you no no no no sis you know i'm basically uh an f-list celebrity now and i'm you know i have time now i had time to wait for these things i had time to sit and think about this set after I did it.
Starting point is 00:04:46 I had time to eat a kale salad. Listen, I'm doing really well. I'm so proud of you. You can't tell by looking at my arms, but I also had time to go for a run this week. You know, the fall body, the autumn equinox body is going to be...
Starting point is 00:05:01 Y'all not going to be ready. You're going to be wearing crop tops in two degree weather. I feel it. Yes, ma'am. I want you to wear the crop top. I want you to have... What is it?
Starting point is 00:05:09 Under boob. Under boob. Can we do that in December? is the sluttiest of all the boobs. Can we do like a little photo shoot with just under boob? What, like a Kardashian Christmas cover? Yes, can we do that?
Starting point is 00:05:19 Okay, Sydney, what were you an expert in this week? Because I don't have time. Listen, I just got into it with a friend. Oh, yes. Via text. Via text, a friend that I know? Yes.
Starting point is 00:05:31 I accidentally called his girlfriend. Not the right name. It was an accident. This was after Comedy Central, your thing. I was delirious I had been up since 7am I was on two Red Bulls I was exhausted Did the Red Bulls have cocaine in them?
Starting point is 00:05:49 No it's fine but I like yelled his name and then I yelled her not the right name and I was like oh my god I'm so sorry I was about to get out of the car and be like I'm so sorry I felt really really bad then I got in the car and my phone
Starting point is 00:06:05 died so then I got home and I called Oh the driver didn't have an aux cord? No, I called immediately, and I texted, and I was like, so sorry, so sorry. I apologize. I was out of it. Because you called his girlfriend by the wrong name? Yeah, because I'm not going to speak about the situation. I mean, I feel like we're speaking about it, so we might as well speak about it.
Starting point is 00:06:24 No, but I feel like he's on the defense. He's on the defense about it. Because he's a hoe? No, no, no. I can paint the picture here, sis. No, no. Did he cheat on her with this shit? No, he didn't.
Starting point is 00:06:32 You know how you get in a relationship, and people are not giving you all the right vibes. I feel like that might be the situation. I don't know. But it's anyway, he ignored my phone calls, ignore my text for like more than a day. And then finally, I was like, yo, is this about something else? Like, what's the problem? Right. And then he wrote, you were disrespecting my girl.
Starting point is 00:06:55 Wait, hold on. Those are like aggressive. That's aggressive. I'm triggered. I'm triggered. Very aggressive. Disrespecting. I mean, you pronounce people's name wrong all the time.
Starting point is 00:07:04 He called you Mary for the longest time. I'm trying to figure out who you're talking about you know who this person is but anyway he was just like you didn't stay to like
Starting point is 00:07:14 hang out with her more to get to know her more so like you don't know her like that to call her no you don't know her because you called her the wrong name
Starting point is 00:07:20 so but also like it's New York City half these people don't even know anybody's name they're just like waiting for you to say
Starting point is 00:07:28 your own name so they know it oh yeah I had a full conversation with this woman on the train 20 minutes she knew who I was
Starting point is 00:07:34 I had no idea who she was we hugged and everything and i was like good to see you sis i legit felt bad and then it and then the friend throws in i mean remember when we took you to go get empanadas when you were depressed oh oh oh that's what we're doing what that's you oh we going low we i'm going high you going low sis when they go high i couldn't you go low i'm like really upset about it who took you to get empanadas i still don't know who the hell we're talking about i'll tell you later but just whisper the name that's
Starting point is 00:08:06 if you're having a disagreement with a friend don't throw shit in it that's an irrelevant it's irrelevant i can't believe you called my girlfriend the wrong name we took you to get empanadas when you were depressed what well actually i'm still depressed so you should probably take me out to get more or better food take me out some more to get some lobster rolls yeah yeah yeah like i i'm just like come on dude people get people's name wrong and it happens like how many shows have we been on that someone totally said the wrong credit and said your name backwards oh my i did a show two days ago and they introduced me as sydney washington no they didn't i said i'm the only black person in here and you called me the other one that i be with and and then when i got
Starting point is 00:08:48 on stage i was like thank you so much guys i've been sydney washington and the girl was mortified and then she like tried to hug me and i i felt like i could have done you know some real regina george type stuff but you know i'm a christian so i hugged her yeah with one arm but yeah people call people the wrong name all the time i don't know what to do because i'm really ready to like you know what you should cut these you should cut these people out of your lives i was like this is some reasons to block you because it's not that serious i called i said sorry disrespecting come on dude you call my girlfriend ike turner in front of strangers oh I know who you're
Starting point is 00:09:24 talking about now yeah he does call your girlfriend Ike Turner and so people be like your girl hit you I'm like well not all the time I'll be sitting there like I think she might since you got a lot of concealer around your eye it's not even your shade speaking of domestic abuse
Starting point is 00:09:42 I'm so excited about this guest speaking of Ike Turner this guest Ike Turner was a hit maker he wrote a lot of Tina Turner songs He was a hit maker. Okay, you see that smooth-ass segue in the studio? This is why you are my partner in crime.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Thank you so much. You know I'm F-less. I'm famous now. So, yeah, Ike Turner was a hit maker, and he also hit people. But our guest today, we love him. Y'all gonna love him. I'm taking a sip.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Yes, he has a show, a monthly called Stevie, and the next one is on September 25th at Our Wicked Lady. Give it up for our hit maker expert, Sam Taggart. wow hello oh my goodness incredible to be in the studio with you guys today first of all i'm an expert in hit making but also an expert in psychos and these people sound like psychos let's talk about it yeah let's talk about it i would absolutely cut them out yeah i mean holding over like getting empanadas like over your head is absolutely crazy if you're
Starting point is 00:10:43 holding empanadas like what else would you if you do me a really big solid like are you going to throw that back in my face absolutely when i'm accepting my my emmy remember when i drove you to the airport that time yeah i swiped you with the metro card once you gotta push those people away yeah absolutely we like this person yeah we do well push away gently we like this person and honestly like this person's girlfriends don't come and go ah come and go yeah wow that's true it's like what chapter we are right now six like that they come and go so i wouldn't worry about it i mean i love the honesty on the pod we're very honest we keeps it real as if no one's listening that is expert sam we lose people all the time no no no no sydney lose people i have
Starting point is 00:11:31 no one i have no one to offend every time i try to talk about someone on a pod they end up hearing oh yeah a hundred percent always always always oh let's talk about that what's the worst the worst thing that happened because of that okay there was a guy who I was a straight guy who I was friends with who felt romantic to me a lot of the time and I like brought this up
Starting point is 00:11:53 he was giving me vibes and I talked about it on a podcast but like very anonymously didn't talk about his name or specifics and then he messaged me being like I can't believe you talked about me on a podcast and I was like well I didn't say your name and nobody knows who you are
Starting point is 00:12:09 nobody knows if you think that i'm talking about you giving off gay vibes then you must be giving off gay true if you listen to it and you're like triggered yeah he could have ignored it and be like he ain't talking about me yeah you should have been like did you get hard though were you aroused it uh quickly fizzled after that you know before it even got started were you guys friends for a long time like maybe like a year oh so i mean it was it was ready to go anyway yeah yeah After a certain age, it's like, do we really need all these people on this boat? I know. We don't have enough life jackets for all y'all.
Starting point is 00:12:45 We don't. And I'm getting the door. But you're in a relationship now. It's true. And it seems like it's been like a long. It's been a long one. It's like four and a half years. And so I don't need these straight guys anymore.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Just around. No, I don't need them. No, straight guys can suck a dick. Oh, wow. Marie, aggressive. Yeah, because I have time. I have time today. uh okay so can you tell us a little bit about you where you come from um so you know i'm a
Starting point is 00:13:14 performer in ny city i as we've talked about i make hits uh i started maybe like a year and a half ago i really yeah i started like doing like songs musical stuff that's crazy sam because every time i see you on stage i'm like you're electric it's like you've been doing it for so long oh my god it's only been a year and a half for the musical side you know i was doing stand-up long before that no no but i'm saying like just to do you make your own songs yeah you write them i write them i work with other people to make those beats good let's talk about this let's talk about this now how do you like you come up with a concept for a song right because everybody has heard a song that made them think damn i wish i could write music right we've all and i sat and tried
Starting point is 00:13:57 to write a song once it was not good uh and my sister like when i was younger she wrote a song called i just lost another husband and she had a whole video for it she had the whole she had the bridge she still sings the song if you ask her to sing i just lost another husband she'll sing it for you um but i'm like we how do you sit and write a song uh do you need like the music first for me it's like the concept first and i'll like try to write the general lyrics and then work on a beat and then try to match it up so you've never like heard a beat and been like oh i gotta write something for this no i do the beat second well you have a you have a really catchy song that's about the gym the weight room is my therapy the weights are my therapist
Starting point is 00:14:43 the water fountain is just a water fountain patrons are my brethren i know them all by name can you tell us about that so this was the first one i got into it's uh a real like dance club hit and it's like uh was deeply inspired by i was just at the gym all the time i had recently joined a gym and was like let us see your abs it was blank and i'm a blank boy nice and my body has not changed at all since going but you know i just love the environment it's a nice home away from home i'm there for the hang for the ambience it's um yeah and it was like so i'll say it erotic everyone is like pumping and sweating and like grunting and i was like okay this is sexy can you give us a little like
Starting point is 00:15:46 bridge or something so the like first verse is just like bodies are crunching and muscles are straining yes the boys are grunting cnn is muted my gym plays charmed on mute really i had never seen charmed at at my house i've only ever seen it at the gym it's on mute i saw like 20 minutes of the fugitive at the gym and i was like i've got to check this out fugitive is that harrison ford oh they had a show it's a movie is he still making movies probably not harrison ford he's like a hundred right well yes but he's always been a hundred he's like the white morgan freeman yes that's true have you ever seen a young harrison ford actually no yeah have you yeah have you ever seen a young morgan freeman photo no well
Starting point is 00:16:39 because he's legit always been old they had videos on um at our at our blink and it was where we on we were on tv we were on tv while you were at the gym yeah and i was like i'm not working out i'm on tv and they were like oh can you move yes yes wow that's exciting it and no it wasn't because i didn't look nothing like i did like on tv you saw me you're like wait is that samuel jackson working out on the scare master i feel like you wear lashes to the gym no no no i was a bare face yeah barely brush my teeth too was messy um so you were at the you're at the gym and it's erotic for you it's very erotic because you're seeing people work out or like is there hot people at your gym it's like a mixed bag but
Starting point is 00:17:25 like they're specifically like i'm on some of the apps i'm on like scruff still and i like see yeah yeah well sometimes you gotta see who's around oh so y'all situation is open let's get into this it's a little open it sounds like it's fairly open you know it's mostly we have some fun Who cares? Whatever. It's 2018. Do y'all be bringing in a third sometimes? Well, you know, every once in a while.
Starting point is 00:17:51 This is what we should be. This is the hits. Okay. Let's talk about this. Will and Jada. Okay. Thank you. Will and Jada.
Starting point is 00:17:59 I love it. You have to be. I mean, it's been four and a half years. Keep that fire going. Keep it going. You guys are on fire. Sydney, you coming up on four and a half. Y'all going to add a third?
Starting point is 00:18:11 I'm currently not in a relationship anymore. that's a damn lie I'm currently not in a relationship you know for reasons you know why I'm sorry let's take a step back you talking about not knowing people's names
Starting point is 00:18:27 but you have like legit drama going on in your personal life oh you don't want to talk about it me and Adrian are no more we don't believe her so where did you sleep last night cause you didn't sleep at my house I was at a friend's place
Starting point is 00:18:41 that's a lie i can't tell this is this lie no i don't cindy been taking acting classes i don't i can't don't please no i'm single okay you know what cindy wait we're gonna put a pin in this and come back this is a bit no it's not a bit are you crying right now are those tears you got pink eye cindy talk the people listening want to guys i'm gonna set the scene she had braids are to the side her eyes look a tiny bit watery sam is confused i'm confused deeply confused i can't tell if she's i mean she's lying but your eyes look a little moist friend they're not together okay sydney you know what drink some oat milk and shut up so you guys have an open relationship and y'all bring a third in yeah what is that like you have to agree on what the person looks like
Starting point is 00:19:26 yeah and it like takes you know some time we have like different types too right because he likes you and you like him right well i've been to your house and your bed is big enough for two people California King? California King. I see your bed. It's good enough for two people. It's a twin extra long? We have a king bed.
Starting point is 00:19:46 We decided to lose it. We were like, let's get a king bed. Well, if you're getting another person in a bed, yeah, you're going to need a king. I mean. You can't do it on a full. You can't have a threesome on a full. You can't fit three grown ass men on a queen size bed. I've been sleeping on a queen by myself since college.
Starting point is 00:20:01 And anytime I share a bed with somebody, it feels like it's too small. It's in your hair, bitch. you know i rap this shut up sydney wow so sam can you give us a little like intel like what like maybe some uh tips for when you're gonna do a threesome uh thank you sydney i thought you were taking it back to music and i'm about to punch you in the face you know it's uh it's all about communication it's like you gotta like just feel out how each other are feeling it's There's no way to like, okay, there's no like, do this. Like, have you ever wanted to hook up with somebody and he didn't or he vice versa?
Starting point is 00:20:42 Yeah, like, I think plenty of times and we've just been like, okay, well, let's move on then we'll find somebody else. Now that means you don't really want it because I feel find a way to be like, well, come on, you look at that nose. Look at that chin. Look how strong that chin is. That's a good, that's a Superman chin. Yeah, you're gonna need that chin in the bedroom.
Starting point is 00:21:00 i'm telling you it also like city i'll be doing chin play you gotta keep it spicy the chin though the no it's like uh and over time i think we've both like gotten a little more like chill with each other's types yeah whereas before it was like strict and now it's like okay i'll like take a hit yeah you'll hook up with someone who looks like you yeah headmaker wait so what's your type sam uh i'm i've talked about this last time i was in this room okay well i mean let's keep the tradition alive uh it's fully like bear types like i like like kind of chubby hairy men okay and that's it somebody keep you warm in the winter and the summer yeah well in the summertime it's like well you gotta sleep in the other room
Starting point is 00:21:46 in the summer we get separate beds and we put a little nightstand between the two beds blast that they see like look at you so red sam how many btus you got we have a friend that did a threesome and i wore she so she joined uh uh uh an app where people like look for a third and she met up with this couple she said the dude was hot and the chick was like basic and she couldn't go through with the threesome and then she didn't really want it she didn't really want it but then the dude and the girl broke up and he reached back out to this girl that we know and
Starting point is 00:22:25 they set up a sex date and he was like I want you to I'm gonna buy you underwear I'm gonna have it waiting for you in the bedroom of this hotel and then I want you to put it on come down I'll take you to dinner and then we're gonna have sex work friend right that's the type of friend I need in my like top
Starting point is 00:22:41 five okay top five a friend that's having sex dates that's getting you pantalones you're getting me underoos i've never had a man buy me panties pantalones is actually pants in spanish but it just sounds like pantalones should be panties sure sure that's sexy we were we were on that journey have you ever bought somebody some boxers oh no like a like a stranger never i'm gonna leave these uh tidy whities on the king size
Starting point is 00:23:11 you put them on and then uh come outside we're gonna go get some uh empanadas So shut up, Marie. I can tell you're depressed. Oh, you bitch. Speaking of strangers, you also have a song called Randos. I heard that randos can only see in black and white. I heard if you get bit by a rando, you could die. Or worse, become one.
Starting point is 00:23:40 i heard there's a man in australia who will pay a hundred thousand dollars for the head of a rando the ironic part that man is a rando can you talk about that so randos is like um an absolutely psycho aggressive song that's like it is it is about it's just like repeating like i heard that randos and then a fact about randos like they can only see in black and white randos i heard if you get bit by a rando you could die or worse become one and you don't want to be that and it's like screeching and uh it's louder and louder yeah like a halloween song it's like a halloween song and uh and you dance around and it's like it's and i shriek it's real yeah it's it's scary oh he throws a costume on the first time i saw you do
Starting point is 00:24:30 a song was uh not this new year's but last year and uh it was for that what's that show and you had a crop top on and i want to see you had on some booty shorts and you had on some doc martin boots and i was like look at that and i don't remember what song you you did that one was uh sex like a sports game oh yeah yeah that's right i love that song too yeah that one that one is erotic kick the field goal to third base triple axel skating is a sport so our sex is also skating our sex it's like a sports game which one well i guess all of them are sucks it's like a sports game every single sport don't get caught up in the details are sex it's like a sports game oh yeah you know i really have to go for it what's the
Starting point is 00:25:26 chorus of that uh our sex sex it's like a sports game which one will i guess all of them are sex it's like a sports game every single sport don't get caught up in the details are sex yes so good so good honestly can we like insert some of these songs is that possible forever dog Look at that Being in a studio Doing the work of God We're gonna insert these songs You gotta send it to us
Starting point is 00:25:55 I will I will So that one is like Making fully fun of Katy Perry Cause so many of her tracks are like This time sex is like food Like This time sex is like basketball I feel like she does that all the time
Starting point is 00:26:09 Well we're not real big Katy Perry fans So we don't know We're only like two degrees of separation from Katy Perry How so? And have not heard very good things about her That's true a friend of a friend not very nice and not very smart oh we can tell that we knew that that's she's like a she's like one of the dumb ones she's like fun to watch because of the dumbest ones
Starting point is 00:26:28 her and her blunt bangs and her big boobs just you know but it's hard being in the industry like after a certain time you're like i'm tired of reading i'm tired of dealing or talking and it's gonna you're gonna say some dumb shit oh i'm gonna be maheen i want to be cruel to people i'm gonna You're going to be like Taylor Swift? Yes. No, I heard Taylor Swift is trash. Wait, Jessica Simpson is nasty too? No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:26:52 She's just off and not that smart. I mean, you watched her on Nick Lachey and they had a reality show and she would say the dumbest things. And people were like, oh, I love this girl. We got to keep watching. And now her company's worth a billion dollars.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Billion dollars. The Jessica Simpson brand that's all over like Marshalls and Target and TJ Maxx. Oh my God. It's a sturdy ass shoe. You can run up on somebody with them shoes. you can fight somebody
Starting point is 00:27:17 and not fall down exactly you can call somebody's girlfriend by the wrong name in those shoes I have got to start a clothing line yeah but everybody
Starting point is 00:27:26 who has a clothing line doesn't earn a billion dollars isn't that how like the Olsens made so much money too didn't they start they had the books they had those movies and they were
Starting point is 00:27:37 and then actually I don't know where the rest of them came from they had their clothing line Elizabeth and James oh that's still a thing it's overpriced
Starting point is 00:27:45 it's not like It's like $700 blouses. Yeah, Jessica Simpson is smart because she's like, oh, this is going to be in Target and this is going to be in all these stores that are accessible. Yeah. Yeah, but that doesn't work for everybody
Starting point is 00:27:57 because Nicki Minaj had a brand that was in like Kmart and I don't. Also, Beyonce had House of Darion. House of Do It All. House of Doing It All Wrong. And people were like, I'm not wearing this rhinestone bra. Like, it was a lot.
Starting point is 00:28:11 Nobody wanted to look like the fourth member of a Destiny's Child. Nobody. Because when you think about it, Because Tina Knowles made all the outfits, right? And she always made Beyonce's outfit the best. And then she like scotch taped Kelly's outfit together. And then they glue sticked Michelle's outfit together.
Starting point is 00:28:25 It was cruel. Michelle always had some asymmetrical situation going on. I'm like, give that bitch a sleeve. She wants another sleeve. She wants two sleeves. Stop it. She just got like the scraps of the material left from Beyonce's costume. And it was like, we're just going to staple you into this.
Starting point is 00:28:40 People are really forgiving of those early Beyonce fashions. Worry. Beyonce is not a good dresser still though that's not true it's a fact Beyonce can't like when Beyonce puts a puts a look on it looks it'll be like ripped right off the runway and she you know what like she'll copy a magazine photo and she'll put it on and it'll be designer it'll cost $19,000 but Rihanna I feel like has just a better fashion sense in terms of like she'll throw on a legit paper bag and you'd be like I gotta get those shorts uh Beyonce has it on you don't want it no it doesn't look i agree with that right rihanna's definitely like an easier fashion icon
Starting point is 00:29:18 she's like has actual style yeah she looks like she does and you on stage have style as well you do you put your costumes together wow sydney i see you dying barbara walters that's why we work well together girl no you're on it today usually you're not on it oh damn sis wow i'm just saying okay this is aggressive and i love it oh thank you thank you so much you know it's the brand you have to uh you know yes a big part of having a great hit is a great look you know it's a it's a visual component yeah it is uh i mostly work in mesh and and leathers and pleathers yeah i do a lot of mostly black and white with a touch of silver here and there you know right cruella deville it's not too much it's not too much it's just
Starting point is 00:30:03 subtle you gotta be subtle so what's it like if cindy and i want to go into the studio and make some... Are you going into a studio or are you going to a place that has like egg crates stapled to the wall? I do it like in my apartment. I have like a little microphone. And what do you do? Are you in the bathroom? In a closet? Just like maybe put some blankets up around you.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Do a fort? You make a fort? Do a little fort. Forever Dog, write that down. Make a fort so we can get to speak together. You make a little fort. I also heard that you're supposed to eat chips. Someone said that once, so I'll eat chips.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Wait, why? You stick your chips before you sing? Yeah. Somebody said it like makes you salivate in a way that like makes your voice better. And I don't think it's true, but I do it anyway. What kind of chips? You know, just some classic Lay's. That's very basic of you.
Starting point is 00:30:51 Well, it's- Yellow bag Lay's. It's not for the taste. It's not for the flavor. It's for the practical use. You're right. I have a question. Since we're on the topic of chips, how do you say U-T-Z?
Starting point is 00:31:03 Is it U-T-Z or is it U-T-Z? How do you say the name of those chips? it's it's it's i say it's i've heard somebody say utc before and it was not me i'm not they can't pronounce it that's why they're dumb it's it's was it katie perry it was tina knowles um so are you trying to put an album together um mostly no i'm just it's doing the live show thing i put them all together in my show club comic which will be such a good show thank you i have not seen it but i've heard the reviews are in yeah here's the thing i knew you hadn't seen it but i wasn't gonna say it i want to be honest let it go i've literally never seen you there i count
Starting point is 00:31:49 each and every audience member well i look at the answer stories and i'm like damn i should have i was it's either i have another show or i have another show i would never not miss it because i don't want to see it hey every time i message you like fuck i'm so sorry i wasn't there so what's the format for club comic yes you show up i show up it's honestly have you seen the katie perry documentary uh part of me you know i have not have you come on man come on bro it's the show is like very based off of that like because it starts with like documentary footage and that which like plays throughout between the songs and it's like about like how she has a relationship with russell brand and it like falls apart on this documentary it's honestly beautiful and it'll
Starting point is 00:32:32 make you like feel bad for katie perry what's the name of it part of me part of me so we gotta watch that's our homework marie you have to watch is it on netflix no you may have to pay four dollars no i can't even buy my own empanadas when i'm depressed how the hell am i gonna get this thing oh my god okay i'll just email it to you guys okay that's okay you already have come on dude what you holding out to what okay so you show that so i like made like my own little documentary that's like backstage before the big show and then like throughout and then i'll like come out and do a song that like relates to what just happened and then i'll go backstage and change costumes and another documentary footage plays it's like me and my tumultuous relationship
Starting point is 00:33:19 and then like oh there's a whole arc baby so it's like it's essentially it's your one-man show yeah yeah city that's kind of similar to like it kind of reminds me of your one-way show also when you did it one of the times yes no it is yeah what's how does that go um well it goes well i originally had like the eulogy in the beginning it was like i'm already dead so i would have this older woman it's it's called a death of the death of oh so sorry yeah see now i'm going back like a eulogy yeah it's i'm going back into my old ways right now so sorry yes death of a bottle girl And it's about my whole 10 years of being a waitress. But at first I started it with a eulogy because I'm supposed to be dead.
Starting point is 00:34:02 And this older woman, Eulogene, is doing a terrible eulogy about me. She's basically roasting me and talking about all the things I would do when I was a waitress. But it's interview style also. like so sydney is like you remember the uh the classic uh uh in the interview where she's like is it crack is it cocaine yeah and she's like i don't know diane you tell me that's what it is so there's a katherine cohen right it was the voice katherine cohen is as asking me all the questions oh that's so fun yeah sydney's on stage answering questions like a fool um but yeah that's great i really want to see your solo show you said the next one is in november
Starting point is 00:34:44 yeah okay cool we're gonna we're gonna go that's gonna be our more homework so what is it like telling people that you like i'm assuming that your boyfriend has seen you sing these songs do these songs um how does he feel about it uh he's on board he likes it he does okay wait do your does your girlfriend like are you guys actually broken up they're not broken up don't listen to her she's a damn liar does she like enjoy your comedy that's why we're broken up that's why we're not together but that's the weird thing right like if you had been doing it for a long time and then the person comes into your life they're just a part of it but if you are kind of new to it and they were there when it kind of started then they they got opinions about things
Starting point is 00:35:38 that you're maybe a little bit insecure about yeah because he was there when i was like going to open mics all the time i brought her to open my i don't know why i did that it was so dumb it sucks yeah and and now they see you in the gym they see you shooting in the gym like practicing and they're like oh my god i'm gonna be here for the long run yeah they're like you're bad at this you're bad at this which is a crazy way for somebody to think uh about something that you talk about all the time yeah i'm going on mic i'm going on show i'm going on mic can't hang out tonight i got a show and then they finally see you and it's like six people at this bar uh and they're all mad this is a show yeah you you miss hanging out with me for this show this quote
Starting point is 00:36:19 unquote show of six people anyway so uh it's rough yeah so he like i would say like generally didn't like for a long time was like i'm not a fan but for this show i think he's like good job you did Because he's seeing it all come together. Yeah. And he went to Clusterfest with you. And it was great. Yeah. He really enjoyed the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:36:42 He was like a proud father. Yeah. Listen, the first time I did a podcast, I think it was Keith and the Girl. And I was like, people don't listen to podcasts. I was naming. Oh, my God. I said people first, last, middle name. I said people, but last four, they're social.
Starting point is 00:36:59 I was talking my ass off. And then somebody, my ex, I was talking about my ex-boyfriend and someone that is friends with us on somebody, it got back to him and he was like, uh, he was really upset about it. Uh, anyway, I'm not talking about him anymore. It's like, I'm not with you. Like, why are you, why are your friends checking up on me? Cause that's what they're there for.
Starting point is 00:37:21 Yeah. That's their whole job. You gotta have friends. No, listen, that is important. That is a part of the friendship thing. It's like, I need a friend that's going to do my dirty work. like i can't be on your insta like stalking you but i gotta have like the third or fourth friend doing it for me the friend that that person didn't know about yeah but you can be
Starting point is 00:37:41 like everybody in here has stalked an ex or is probably like he's on a computer over there he probably stalking an ex right now like everybody has you just check in to see if they got fat sam you got a joke about that i mean a song about that i don't stalk exes well i don't really have them you know i hear what you're saying sis does that make sense you don't have there was like a cool you know eight years where i was just hooking up with people oh talk about that you were just like out and about just casually hoeing yeah you have to you know one night stands yeah maybe like a one month stand a one month that was kind of my deal you see this is what i thought i was gonna do this year and it's not what i did this year right you said you were gonna hoe it up i was
Starting point is 00:38:24 gonna hoe it up this man won't leave me alone okay he might oh my god it's a mess that he won't leave me alone we're having fun and i don't feel like putting the work in to find somebody else to sleep with does that make sense yeah but like how much work do you actually have to put in i gotta go on the app i gotta like lol at a stupid joke it's just it's a lot of work i'm on hinge right now and it's terrible it's i'm just like how do people do this wait what's him are you still on hinge i'm on the hinge i am single i don't know why i don't believe you is a damn liar yes i'm single i'm on hinge and uh everybody's ugly everybody it's so many why do women put so many filters on like the dudes they are very honest the angle is awful you could see up their fucking nose yeah
Starting point is 00:39:12 that's all my pictures oh my god this dude on hinge that tried to match with me was like in silk sheets he's like super like porcelain skin and the sheets were like maroon and he's like he was like pose it was very gross i was i was like i'm reporting you as spam no way this is real sam did you get on the apps before you're man now uh not i just did like the hookup apps i didn't do like tinder i thought it was a hookup app yeah wait what i thought tinder was a hookup it's like more like i'm talking like grinder and scruff okay yeah tinder was like straight people grinder no they say that but it is like grinder is like fucking nasty talk about it what's going on i mean it'll literally be like meet me in a bathroom and
Starting point is 00:40:02 it's like okay you know really yeah it's like no holding back like it's not like let's get a drink it's like come over i'm naked okay so that's why you can't understand why i'm struggling to be a hoe because you're like what do you mean just go to the bathroom yeah just send them a dick go pee yeah they're 40 feet away just go outside how do you do a profile on uh on grinder it's no profile it's just a picture of your nibbles you like nibbles yeah or toes you like toes it's a picture of your foot i go i do face pic i'm brave you're brave yeah i'll put out a base pick i feel like it's different for men like men can do that and feel i've seen too many episodes of law and order svu to just be like meet me in the bathroom also like i don't want
Starting point is 00:40:47 your broke ass chlamydia baby like i'm not trying to be pregnant and be sick or get murdered like i can't do that and if you're a straight woman talking about meet me in the bathroom a dude is like oh that bitch def got it it's a fact yeah I don't want to bang Eazy-E in a bathroom
Starting point is 00:41:04 like that's not my ministry and that's why I'm not a hoe this year cause I'm happy with the one or two
Starting point is 00:41:10 or three people that I'm hung with right now well that's sweet it's just one it's just one shout out to us this is us
Starting point is 00:41:21 Sam can you tell me about another song that you like that's super popular right now you keep trying to bring it back
Starting point is 00:41:27 you keep trying to bring it back what kind of music do you like who's on your Spotify you know like what I'm what the music I make is like inspired by like it's in between LCD sound system and Paris Hilton it's like I like stars are blind
Starting point is 00:41:43 do we remember that Paris Hilton song it was a banger how did it go even though the stars are crazy even though the stars are blind in real life baby I'll show you mine okay forever dog
Starting point is 00:41:58 can you just cut the real song in there no leave that in there it's fucking trash I like Paris Hilton that song of hers and then I liked like a couple of
Starting point is 00:42:06 Lindsay Lohan songs remember when she was I'm tired of rumors starting I'm tired of being unfollowed she was dancing to that in Mykonos
Starting point is 00:42:13 and she was doing the beat it moves I love that she's doing the beat it she's doing the white woman hair toss wrong it's like sis
Starting point is 00:42:21 my hair don't flow like that and I know that that's not how you do it it's 5, 6, 7, 8 yo every moves it was like a meme like yo when my direct deposit hit
Starting point is 00:42:30 like that's all her moves were like yo something just happened that you're just super excited about she was dancing like you know how our iPhones start to act up
Starting point is 00:42:37 when a new iPhone comes out she was dancing like our iPhones when they start to act up like it was like oh I need to restart turn Lindsay Lohan off and blow on her
Starting point is 00:42:47 and put her back in restart her blow on her cartridge and put her back in just a little off she's the meekinose but have you heard
Starting point is 00:42:54 the Paris Hilton song Drunk Text no no oh my god it's the best it's just like bass bass bass and it's like so i went out the other night oh it's one of those where you're pretty much just talking on the track yeah with me and my bitches you have to this is required reading it's incredible yeah she's like so i mixed when you mix texting with sex it's called sexting thanks and people are like oh is that what it is the more you know just went over that and i think i'm pretty sure she has like a t-mobile sidekick
Starting point is 00:43:32 in the video it's like very good a sidekick remember those phones wow i was not cool enough for one of those no no those were the wealthy people i couldn't afford one at all i couldn't even get a rebate or nothing remember cell phone rebates i miss those so hard when a cell phone was like 50 and then you mailed in your rebate and they sent you a check for 49 pretty much 50 and now an iphone costs i don't know 12 000 and it's like but if i drop this it will disintegrate but if i dropped my old ass lg flip it just bounced back into my hand remember how bulky and sturdy they used to be it was i did you guys ever like did you have twitter when you had a flip phone no no because i was talking about my phone at all no but you could just text a number
Starting point is 00:44:20 and it would send a tweet for you like i remember texting wait what you could tweet without internet on your phone because you would like text the twitter number oh no i don't remember before how old are you 100 i feel like twitter came out in 2008 i don't think that twitter is even that old i guess it's 10 i mean i definitely had a flip phone in 2008 really selling drugs you guys i had a flip phone till 2010 oh dude that's like recent yeah you're you've been poor in your life he was i yeah do you have health insurance what's going on no no i i also had a flip phone i feel like when obama was elected no no no no it was an lg touchscreen yep wow i had a blackberry
Starting point is 00:45:07 oh you're bbm yeah you know you know blackberries are still a thing no like people still like they're still releasing new blackberries y'all didn't know this no why would we know that i don't know well it's for it's for business it's so our iphone it's great for emailing so our iphones it's great for if you want to like conduct some real shit i'll say something that's gonna be controversial blackberries are still better than androids galaxy you do it bad oh we just lost so many so many listeners right there yeah yeah yeah yeah we on spotify now so we're picking up we are on spotify sam are you gonna blast you should blast our podcast while you're on stage i'll blast the pod i'll definitely give it a shout out
Starting point is 00:45:50 you should make us make us a song do a song about us do our theme song yes because you know we're in the market for a theme and we want something that's like real bass heavy maybe something paris hilton-y uh when you put marie and sydney together you get s and m yes and i mean sounds like you've got it s and m yeah but we need the music to go underneath it yeah okay yeah i'll find you something i feel like you can do it i feel like you can get real deep and dirty and gritty i want a paris hilton that also like sells drugs can you do like paris hilton in the trap house paris hilton featuring two chains yeah wow that's fun do you think they've met yeah i feel like she was at his wedding i'm not i'm guessing i have no idea he's married he just got married good for
Starting point is 00:46:42 he's a new man that's what happens when the next step is marriage you're not even gonna be singing anymore he just got married but he's been with this woman for 14 years it's like he's an old ass man and they got like grown ass they just dropped their kids off to college it's like you should have married her a long time ago are you gonna get married soon i don't know oh that was a real i don't know it feels like well one i'm like so deeply personally broke that like getting married feels insane yeah i mean you could just justice of the peace it no but twelve dollars okay i don't get these people i'm not i'm sorry why are y'all putting y'all two broke asses together yeah you should just wait until you're financially in a place then i shouldn't be dating
Starting point is 00:47:24 you if we're both broke to both one of us gotta have money and it's not gonna be it's not gonna be me you can't be poor to be my man no it's just like when i see people like having their reception at the like applebee's no it's just bad just like in the when you have like you're in the projects and they have like the reception room it's just like come on oh sydney why are you in the project first of all i don't know the projects had a reception hall they did they had a reception hall sydney you are so poor i just feel like you shouldn't be having a wedding if you're like doing a go fund me for it yeah i'm even like if like who knows how money will change me you know like we need to see like what my personality will be like when i have an income that's honest
Starting point is 00:48:08 because you know i'm a b uh oh my god i'm so marie i'm really happy to meet you blah blah blah and i'm gonna be like actually i'm just here to enjoy afropunk in the vip section i don't know who this marie person is that you're talking about there's like a story about miles davis where somebody went up to him was like i have all your albums i'm your biggest fan and he responded like so the fuck what bitch that's that i have miles davis energy right now yo remember when we were getting those checks from vidiots i was like well i can move out the house now i'm ready to live out on my own and then the check stop coming and you were like actually yeah i was like yeah knocking back let me go do the
Starting point is 00:48:50 dishes yeah i was like baby come back you can blame it all on me sam what are you gonna do when you're rich are you do you really think that you're gonna be mean because you're so nice no i don't think i'll well it's hard to tell i don't think i'll be mean i think i'll be reclusive what like richard what's the richard that went missing they did a podcast on him like richard simmons Yeah, I think I'll, like, hide away. No, what's the whole point of having money, then? No, to lose your mind. No, if you have money, it's all about stunting.
Starting point is 00:49:22 Like, I want to be in places that not my neighbors can go to. You know what I mean? I want to go into the parties that nobody can get into. Then you'll be by yourself. Yes, that's what kind of money I want to have, where I'm in a party all by myself. I think I'll entertain a lot. Like, I think it'd be fun to, like, have people. You're going to host parties, like the great Gatsby.
Starting point is 00:49:40 Yeah, like that. that's that's crazy party it's dumb it's dumb because i feel like you're not going to tell your guests to take their fucking shoes off you're going to have all these people don't take their shoes off poor people do that it's like this is laminate and you're not about to be tracking dog poop on these sticker floors yeah the rich people take a car to and fro right they're not walking on you know they're pristine shoes i could tell that you are you have not lived take your shoes off i'm not taking off my monolo blonics wait hold on that's how i knew that this like this old dude that i went on a date with when i went to his townhouse and we
Starting point is 00:50:15 walked into foyer and i looked at his fucking floors i was like yo are these brand new floors and he's like no i've been here for 10 years i was like wait and you didn't ask me to take my shoes off who are you who are you he was like a cleaning lady be cleaning these every hour on the hour that's crazy i hate when people make you take your shoes off well you should be glad we recording here and not at my house because i made everybody take their shoes off yeah i'm poor like this rug is ikea and i can't clean this if i try to wash this it will disintegrate listen i when i get money i just want to make sure that my mental health is on like so a lot of empanadas in your future i just want to make sure i have an in-house therapist that's what i
Starting point is 00:50:56 want i want a bitch on call just in like ask jeeves yeah like i need it in the house like i want to be like yo i need a session now come here now she's gonna have a little room in the basement in the basement she's gonna be depressed yeah that's that's who gives the best therapy depressed people because they already know how you feel i'm gonna have all new friends all new fake friends wow because i'm gonna cut all my i'm gonna be like who we went to what walt whitman high school i don't know him do you even go here i'm gonna be so much cooler i'm still gonna be mean but cooler what are you what are you guys clothes gonna be like when you're rich oh so much better first of all we're not even gonna pay for clothes because we're gonna send us they're gonna send me
Starting point is 00:51:39 looks but i'm still gonna mix high love yeah yeah you have to it's gonna be are you wearing a target blouse with uh some uh balenciaga jeans i'm gonna be like absolutely i'm so excited to have like really expensive things and also like a thrift store thrift store t-shirt yeah that's all i want in this world a kohl's black label you know just luxury kohl's no i just want people to send me stuff uh i don't want to pay for it um that's what i want i want to be rich and still cheap and you know that's my that's my whole vibe sis well that's how rich people stay rich right sam yeah right i mean wow sam i went to your apartment first of all you have a backyard i have a backyard your apartment is really nice you have an aisle kitchen like you have a little
Starting point is 00:52:25 island i have a little island you got like an hgtv house wow i mean it's you said one of us has to make money in the relationship and one of us does and it's not me i mean you're here so we know you're not making the money y'all don't get paid for these episodes imagine if you did though that would be tight that would be so tight as many podcasts as we we've done so what's your dream rich people made it house home what does that look like is it on long island is it no is it on the cape i want to be one of those people that like stays in the city and just like owns aloft and is like yes i'm so humble like yeah like i've only paid a couple million for it yeah yeah we're just doing a couple renovations yeah you're wasting your money though living in the
Starting point is 00:53:10 city i don't want to be where are you going i'm going i'm going west a state away new jersey no you're gonna go to new jersey that's gross new jersey first of all russell simmons lives in new jersey and we don't care about mary j blige we don't care about her daddy lives in jersey okay well he has several homes yeah like a lot of people have homes in jersey okay chris rock okay i mean i mean you're saying people that i don't want to be neighbors with like i i too want a loft you know i want a doorman that's like uh out late again miss and i'm like falling out of a town car and i'm like but if you live in a city then that's that makes people feel like oh they can just come by hey i'm
Starting point is 00:53:55 in your neighborhood like oh that's true i do i don't like those no no no no no no no no no no no i got people who do that to me in brooklyn they'll be like i'm in your neighborhood you home and i'm always like no and i'll be in the window watching them watch me and i'm like but i'm not here but i'll see you in the wood that's not me and you can't come up yeah but when somebody comes to your house like sam i know where you live i have your address like i can potentially just come through because you're rude yeah and and your neighbors will open the door and let me in they don't ask no questions but like i mean i feel like that's what happened like somebody came out and i held the door and i was like okay thank you they didn't know they probably thought i was
Starting point is 00:54:37 the delivery girl but if someone is like the fright entrance is in the back yeah if someone is like that obsessed with you where they're like stalking you and coming to your house like they can also come to jersey like it's not that hard sitting you just want russell simmons to pop into your house to do yoga with you oh no we know he'd be touching people so i just want to adjust your form no dream for me is own a built like own a brownstone in brooklyn have a backyard and a front yard uh on the whole thing yeah like whole thing like we our friend's house we went to she had a meatball and rose party and i was like what's the uh apartment number and she never responded and it was because she was laughing at me because she owned the whole building the whole thing and
