Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, we're here. Hello. And we're back. Ah, so good. So great. Eyewitness News at seven. We're here to give you your messiest gossip. Also, coming up, weather. Whether or not we give a damn about your dad. Yes, love it. List it. Sydney, how you doing today, friend? You know, I'm doing it. I feel like this is the first Saturday I didn't come disheveled, But I'm also probably still disheveled. I don't know. I mean, that's because she was at my house and then we came here. That's true.
Starting point is 00:00:34 I might have to do that. Well, I don't know about every time. I might have to do that. Saturdays are hard. They really are. I mean, just to be on all the time. Like, we don't only just do this, guys. We're out here and just doing stand-up every night.
Starting point is 00:00:49 And then talking to people in passing. You're always on. It's like, how do you get a moment to be like, hey, I just want to be quiet. I don't want to have to say anything to anybody. And so I'm just constantly exhausted. So I feel like I do. I mean, also, what time are you going to bed? What time are you getting up?
Starting point is 00:01:07 Let's talk about that. I went to bed at midnight. And you woke up at what time? I woke up at like 7.30. Okay, so you did get enough hours. Yeah. Now, when you say you went to bed at midnight, you was in bed with your laptop?
Starting point is 00:01:19 No. Or you went to sleep at midnight? I fell asleep watching American Horror Stories. At what time? also I think it's just one story just one I love putting an S
Starting point is 00:01:30 on something I love making it plural plurals plurals no I was just watching and I fell asleep I had a little bit of Thai food
Starting point is 00:01:39 and what not okay wait so you're saying you went to bed at midnight but I'm saying you went to bed with your laptop at midnight
Starting point is 00:01:45 no I was watching TV oh you were watching TV yeah and then you fell asleep yes at midnight yep okay well there you go friend
Starting point is 00:01:52 that's it rest there it is I'm trying whoop there it is okay what about you how are you doing um i'm good uh i when i moved into my apartment i had everything i needed a couch a table a rug a mirror blah blah blah blah but i was like it's a new space i need
Starting point is 00:02:08 to get all new stuff and i was like in a rush to get all the old stuff out and replace it with like you know some like home and country architectural digest type stuff and that's not like it's stressful to be like i want that couch like so i ordered a bunch of stuff and then changed my mind had canceled orders and then paid for things that came and then I changed my mind when they they popped up so I got this couch that I don't love but I don't hate it but everyone that comes in likes it so I think I like it now it's pink and it's like vintage and tufted and Victorian looking you know you know it's very out there and then I ordered a table and when the table came it was so big I didn't even take it out the box I was like oh this is too big and I ordered it from
Starting point is 00:02:53 overstock and they were like if you order something big you gotta pay for the return shipping oh fuck out of here is that what you're gonna do wait so it was raining the day it was delivered the box was wet the ups dude was like dragging it across the street the box is kind of ripped so i like try to put it online like i put it on i went on instagram i was like where what should i put it on people are like offer up facebook marketplace um let go and all these apps And everybody was trying to scam me. Like, they're like, oh, I'm going to send you a shick. Not a check, a shick.
Starting point is 00:03:30 A C-H-E-Q-U-E shick. And it was like, or a money order. And it was like, can you just Zelle me or Venmo me or PayPal me? I'm going to send you a check. Because that's the new scam. They say they'll send you a check. And it's like, they send you this money. And then they ask you to give them, like, they'll send you too much money.
Starting point is 00:03:47 And then when you deposit the money, they ask you to give them the extra. like that's how they scam people honey ain't no bank I don't have cash like that they catch you catch you if you can type scam
Starting point is 00:03:58 this is not TD Bank I'm not giving you cash for your check what are we doing here grow up but people people who listen to the podcast were like oh I almost got gots
Starting point is 00:04:06 and I gave me a fake money order or a fake cashier's check or blah blah blah and that's how you get like tricked sorry boo
Starting point is 00:04:12 you don't have Apple Pay you don't have Venmo you don't have PayPal you don't have Chase Quick Pay yeah sorry I cannot help you
Starting point is 00:04:19 I can't do business like that It's crazy how many people were just responding like that. Can I send you a check or a money order? And it was like, what? Yeah. The scammers are just out on all the apps. Where did you put it on?
Starting point is 00:04:32 On Craigslist, LetGo, OfferUp, Facebook Marketplace, and then there's a bunch of other crap. So I was like, let me just call Overstock and see how much it's going to cost to return this table. And I called them and I was like, the box came. It was wet and it was damaged and I didn't open it. And the guy was like, oh, well, do you want your money back on your card? And I was like, yeah. And he was like, okay, well, we'll come pick it up in three to five business days.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Gorgeous. And I was like, who's paying for the shipping? They're like, we are. You said it came damaged. Beautiful. I was looking at the box. It was all not damaged. I was like, I'm going to pour some water in that box.
Starting point is 00:05:04 You're the expert of not getting scammed and also scamming. Scamming others. That was your expertise. I'm the scamming expert. Yeah. So they came to pick the box up yesterday. That's why it wasn't in my house. You have great luck.
Starting point is 00:05:16 You're also, you have good luck. Good luck, expert. Thank you so much, friend. Yeah. That was what I was an expert in. So, you know, if you order something from Overstock or whatever and they say you have to pay for the shipping, just tell them it was damaged. Now, by the time it gets to them and they realize it's not damaged, they may or may not, you know. I mean, I actually don't know how that works.
Starting point is 00:05:35 If they already returned me my money, I'm not going to give their money back. They paid for the shipping. Yeah. Look at God. Anyway, Sydney, what were you an expert in this one? Expert in saying, oh, hell no. Oh, hell no. I was on a shoot and, you know, for some reason I was like, oh, I didn't I didn't request a makeup artist.
Starting point is 00:05:55 So they already have someone and I don't know what her deal is. So I came there with no makeup on and no makeup in your bag. I know I have makeup in my bag, but I went there and I saw her shoes and I automatically known I was like, oh, she's not going to do a good job. No, she had on, I would say, like them wet seal sandals that are like platform-ish, like urban outfitters with like a little peep toe, but like a clog. It was a lot going on. Oh, the white women wood bottom shoes? I don't know. I'll show you a picture of it.
Starting point is 00:06:31 The Mary Jane clog? Kind of, yes. Ah, yeah. But she looked like she worked at like one of those stores. Like she doesn't look like she does makeup. She looked like she worked at like ModCloth or something. She looked like somebody said, hey, can you, you know, turn somebody's face up for a minute? Can you just come in?
Starting point is 00:06:46 Like, that's what she looked like. So, what color hair did she have? She was beige. Anyway. Her hair was brown? You know what? She actually was really pretty. I was like, oh, you could be a model.
Starting point is 00:06:55 Like, what you doing makeup for? Anyway. So, I go in and I'm looking and I see the stuff that she has, the products. I'm not feeling it. So, she didn't have no Fenty, no makeup forever? No, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing. None of that. This is not just like.
Starting point is 00:07:10 No Kat Von D. This is not the Cosmetology school of blackness It's not like CVS brands But it's like one step above So she pulled out the CoverGirl Queen collection? No, not even that It's like another layer of that
Starting point is 00:07:26 It's like the stuff at Sephora That nobody buys Ah, okay The labels True Blend, Free Your Mind I don't know Anyway, so I'm there and I sit down and I'm
Starting point is 00:07:41 already feeling weird. She got the bare essentials out. Got it. So she starts putting on the foundation that she has and I was like okay. No, no, no. She puts on my foundation. Got it. And for some reason the way she's applying
Starting point is 00:07:57 it I'm like this. She cut it with some water? I don't know. It looked dry. It didn't look like how I. And the lighting that they had there was bad too. So the lighting was bad. I'm in the studio. I But I was just like, this is not made for me. So she starts putting on the foundation.
Starting point is 00:08:13 And then she puts on her powder. Because she's like, oh, this is really shiny. And I could tell the way she was applying the sponge. When they be blotting it like that. Yeah, it's wrong. It's like, sis, you got to be a little smoother with it. Yes. So it's like she's tapping it.
Starting point is 00:08:27 It's wrong. Everything is wrong. It's offbeat. Yes. I get it. So then she starts. So she does my whole face. Not my eyebrows or eyelids or anything like that.
Starting point is 00:08:37 She didn't do your eyelids. I show her a picture of what I normally look like. I said, this is what I normally look like. And she was like, oh, I don't know her. And she's like, oh, well, maybe it's just the lighting in here. But I'm just going to show you guys. I look like I'm getting ready to be in a casket. Dead body in the hallway.
Starting point is 00:08:58 You look ashy. People do that makeup. Yeah. People makeup. I don't know what that is. Okay, so I ended up, this is me. I ended up taking all my things and I go outside because the lighting is terrible. And I do my own makeup.
Starting point is 00:09:10 I do my own makeup because I said, well, I can't have you do the rest of this. And she's like, well, do you want me to just do your eyes? And I was like, no, absolutely not. And then I go outside and the other woman that was on set was like, let me hold the mirror for you. Let me help you. Like, I totally understand how you're feeling. And I'm glad that I said no. This is the first time I was like, I'm not, no.
Starting point is 00:09:36 I was a little, my makeup, I probably looked a little shiny. and then I like put more powder on it and fixed it. But I said no. And I think more of us need to say no. Just no, you can't do my makeup. I do say no. I'm not dealing with this. I'm not allowing.
Starting point is 00:09:51 And we've talked about this on the podcast before. As black women, when we show up, if they can't do our hair and they can't do our makeup, then mentally we're not in the right headspace to do the job that we were hired for. I can't read the lines. I can't read. I don't remember anything.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Helen Keller says, I can't see anything except this ashiness that you put on my face. And sometimes you'll go and these makeup artists will be like, well, I only bought part of my kit. This is your job. Yeah. Sis, this is an incomplete. You shouldn't be getting your whole paycheck if you didn't bring your whole kit.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Well, she was looking at me crazy the whole time. Like, I can't believe she didn't want me to do it. And I was like, I actually absolutely can believe because I actually sent this picture to the group chat and they were like, girl, no. No, but also I think more of us need to speak up because when we make them feel bad, which they should feel bad. We should make them feel bad and they should go home and be like, all right, well, maybe I should watch a tutorial.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Exactly. Literally, YouTube will teach you how to cut, contour, crease, color crease, like everything. Like do that. Go home. Matter of fact, sit in the corner while I'm doing this shoot and watch these videos. I'm going to send you some links and then you send your assistant over here to block this face because it's a little shiny. Well, well, I'm glad you said no.
Starting point is 00:10:59 I said no, and speaking of no but yes, oh, my God. I'm so glad. That transition was bumpy as fuck. Yeah, it was. But you know what? We're still going to keep it going. Speaking of bumpy as fuck, our guest today. Our guest today is not bumpy as fuck.
Starting point is 00:11:13 She's smooth as a baby's bottom. I mean, we've been on her podcast before called Girls Gotta Eat. She's just living and thriving and traveling and doing everything that an influencer should be doing. Absolutely. She is our social media expert. give it up for Ashley you wrote it down I wrote it down
Starting point is 00:11:33 you wrote it down so I'm gonna let you sound it out I'll say it guys no no no no I'll introduce myself no you're gonna can you remember
Starting point is 00:11:39 to edit this leave it in there I'm gonna leave it no we're not leave it in there Sydney say her name you wrote it down I hope phonetically
Starting point is 00:11:47 but no Hasseltine close Hasseltine Hasseltine I said Hasseltine sounds like you're saying hassle
Starting point is 00:11:54 yeah she said it's Hesseltine oh okay Ashley Hesseltine give it up for our Our social media expert, Ashley Heseltine. You guys do like an air horn. We snap.
Starting point is 00:12:06 We play Sade Smooth Jazz. This is such an honest podcast so that people understand that I mess up names all the time. But nobody, so what most people do is Heseltine. And at every show, I did three shows last night, every single one. And I just have given up. Well, because they ask me. Yeah, I asked. But the host asks me and still can't.
Starting point is 00:12:25 I think when people think in their head what it is, they can't get past it. They're like, that's teen. And I'm going to go with it. Heseltine. It's Ovaltine. It's Saltine. Saltine? Yes, it's not Saltine.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Saltine cookies? I mean, there's also words that are I-N-E that sound like Tyne. I can't think of any right now. Like? Line. Shine. Line. Shine.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Mine. Mine. Okay, right. Wine. Wine. I was one of those hosts I asked three times and I still. And you wrote it down. I wrote it down.
Starting point is 00:12:51 And you were like, I'll say it. Yes. And I was like, great. And then it came time and you looked at me and I said, no, not today, Satan. So I have got to jump in on this makeup thing. OK, please. Like I will tell someone to stop. You need to leave.
Starting point is 00:13:09 And I'll finish it from here. And jobs. It happened at one of our shows. We did our holiday shows last year. We hired, I'm not going to say the name, but those people that have all those freelancers and they come and do your makeup. And the one guy fucked my hair up. I said, I specifically don't want it to be like flat and then poof out.
Starting point is 00:13:24 And that's what I got. And I just was like, I don't know what to tell you. And then Reyna, she was like, I'll take it from here. Like her makeup. I've had a girl one time was like, she was telling me while she was doing my makeup, I've been doing makeup my entire life. Oh, I love when they tell you that.
Starting point is 00:13:36 Whenever they say that. No under eye concealer. No primer, no nothing. What are you doing? My lipstick was Kavon D, but it was so red. I look like I've been like gnawing on raw meat. And I was like, you need a new job. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Since you were a kid, this is what you've been doing. No. But people who say that, they're people who they learned a technique in, I don't know, 86 and then never adjusted. They don't use the little sponge. They don't know how to, like they're only doing what they learned and they're not doing anything that we're doing now. And they don't update their kit or nothing and they don't have like colors. It's just a mess. It's so crazy.
Starting point is 00:14:17 And everything's like glossy and shiny and metallic. And it's like, you ain't got no mats. You have no mat. eyeshadows no matte lipsticks just shiny everything i just do i'm good with hair but i just i've given up like i'm just gonna do my own face because if you fuck it up then what do we do we just got to go out looking like this yeah but so you're doing like your own foundation concealer everything yeah i mean not right now don't judge me no no you look great it's saturday no you look like a real housewife running errands okay fresh face that's what i'm going for cute little nike little
Starting point is 00:14:46 set you got a rose gold nike how much was this set because i want this yeah it's very cute it was last year i don't know probably not not cheap i don't know it's not we could tell it's 98 for the jacket and i wear it i can tell by the zipper this shit ain't cheap it's rose gold it's very nice i'm googling i wear it a lot like i'm getting my money's worth i love it love it love it it's gorgeous rose gold i saw like i saw a friend wearing it but in pink i'm like i don't need no no no but i could tell i wanted it and so i just i mean again social media i saw it on instagram was like gotta have it okay well ashley we've done your podcast and it's so fun you have like the best listeners yes oh so many of them are listening right now they slid right over
Starting point is 00:15:27 they love you guys what is your so tell people a little bit about your podcast your podcast okay girls gotta eat it's a comedy podcast about dating relationship sex we my co-host reina and i we do episodes just us and we have guests on and we like to hone in on one topic for the most part so how to get over a breakup or how to meet men off the apps or we'll do everything from we'd like that we've made like a broad blanket of all things dating we can talk about anal and finances like it just kind of like okay so what his finances got to look like for you to do anal yeah eight hundred dollars that's it that's that's so low a week i've never done anal oh well i can't trust you then well that's that's that's reina's price tag she said the first the only first only time
Starting point is 00:16:15 she did anal. The guy took her to like an $800 dinner and she was like, I guess this is what we're doing. Well, after an $800 dinner, you shouldn't even be having it. I want to lay down. I want to lay down. But that's what you just lay down I think on your stomach and just, you know. First of all, you got to arch. You can't just be laying flat.
Starting point is 00:16:30 You can't be flat. You look like that fish that has the two eyes on one side. No, you can't just lay down. Listen, $800 dinner, we can have anal in 800 more days. You got to give me time. I mean I don't know
Starting point is 00:16:45 I can't speak on it I'm not an anal expert yeah I feel like you haven't done it you might not I feel like you might I probably won't I probably not get a tattoo
Starting point is 00:16:52 and I'm probably not gonna do anal you know like I've come this far you get a tattoo of a butt she will not a little butt
Starting point is 00:17:01 I've come this far I'm in my 30s three things I'm not gonna do I'm not gonna do anal not gonna get a tattoo not gonna get off my parents cell phone plan
Starting point is 00:17:08 like I'm just just those three you said you were in your 30s So you say you're going to try crack? Is that crack is still on? Crack is on the table. Crack is on the table.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Not getting off my parents' phone plan. Not happening. What service provider do you guys have? Look, we're with Verizon. It's fine. I can afford it, but it's just cheaper to stay on it with them. And then here's the thing. Anything and everything that goes wrong, like a charge my dad doesn't know,
Starting point is 00:17:32 like I have to handle it. So I am full-blown customer service with Verizon. Like that's worth my cell phone plan alone. Well, you guys unlimited everything? we got unlimited data just just took it up a notch great but to get it in the right price range i had to slow down my mom's phone a little bit so i didn't think she was gonna notice and that i was with her recently and i watched her on her phone i was like struggling just like that picture is just coming like the wheel wheel is like ah it's not loading what the fuck
Starting point is 00:17:58 i was like is your phone been slower and she was like it has been i was like oh wait so how did you make it slower you just updated it there's some i talked to verizon there you can all the phones on a on a family plan can be on like different something i don't know so to work it out to get it to this price range and not make it go up i was like we need unlimited data and i need to keep my speed but you can slow down my parents a little bit because what are they doing they're just they're taking selfies they're sending videos to the fam in a group chat how dare you they're on whatsapp yeah i feel bad they're googling stuff i do feel bad they're on the googles yeah they're they're listening to martha stewart's podcast or something like that no it's
Starting point is 00:18:38 uh deepak yeah deepak uh oprah's uh indian friend they're fine they live on a farm they're fine yes i mean they google in like is the llama sick yeah you know they google in stuff that they need for the farm my mom's got her ipad you know parents and their ipad is the ipad also part of the family plan i think it's on it yes there's too many devices you gotta shut something down I'll get one one day. I don't know. An iPad? I feel close to my family because we're all on the same plane.
Starting point is 00:19:05 My brother got off it, though, years ago, and he's four years younger than me. He was like, you are so embarrassing. Do they listen to your podcast? My mom does. She does? We're really cool. We've always had a friendship, and we talk about sex and stuff like that. You call her by her first name?
Starting point is 00:19:19 What's her name? No, her name's Cindy. Cindy? Well, Lucinda. Lucinda. Lucinda. That's why you can't say her by her first name. Lucinda is weird.
Starting point is 00:19:28 What's your mother's nationality? lucinda just white pittsburgh i don't know what it's white lucinda she's cindy though like nobody okay but i love the name lucinda i love lucinda right so you just call her mom that's it yeah okay you don't call her lou you don't call her sin that's a fun one when you guys go to the club lou come on girl we got shots it's on you though yeah i feel like you got a cool mom like she gets her hair highlighted she actually is like really cool yeah and i feel like she wears like miha coach boots. She does when I started dressing
Starting point is 00:20:00 okay, I feel like I took her style up a notch too. Like, we'd go shopping together. Where y'all be at? I mean, Express, girl. Okay, okay. Bloomingdale's is sex. You'd be in the black label section for her. No, I'm Express and Zara. That's, I mean Zara and Zara. Yes,
Starting point is 00:20:16 cute. When are they going to be doing some things where they help some influencers out? I want to get some stuff. Zara? They do not give a fuck. I feel like they don't care. Yeah, I feel like they don't partner with it. Like, make well you know they threw us that little bone yeah they did you guys i saw that you guys did that yeah influencers that's what we do these clothing brands just i think they give you free stuff but i don't know that they're paying people really oh yeah let's speak on it you know we because
Starting point is 00:20:39 you're here for social media and whatnot and you know you your podcast is thriving and what's your favorite um social media platform yeah instagram yeah what were we doing before instagram i don't even remember facebook scanning photos to facebook facebook when i feel like facebook died with the election because i was still kind of hot on facebook and on facebook and then i just couldn't take it like i was like this is crazy and i didn't realize all my friends were like republican or like actually i'm looking at you and i could tell what your friends might cut kind of be you know trump supporters a little bit like i look like i have money yeah you do look like you have money rich i am not at all like i grew up like super liberal like my parents are like everybody that
Starting point is 00:21:25 i know hates trump and okay but when i lived in atlanta during the election so i had been planning to move and i did move with the variant of 2016 so i was still there when trump won and people people were starting to come out the woodwork i was like i think i'm like at dinner with trump supporters and i'm starting to realize it so i moved we're so glad to have you here yeah welcome back we're still offended by that marie marie i have a question for you i may mean to ask this I'm worried this is going to go badly Let me swivel my chair Me and Andrew are ready girl
Starting point is 00:21:57 Let me put my foot up Should I have a door open? Are your parents normal size? Yeah, you think they're small? They're not little people You thought their parents were midgets? Run the tape
Starting point is 00:22:13 Pull those pictures up My parents are regular size My mother in those photos is taller than I am right now okay i was like oh my god marie's parents are midgets and there's there's something about the photos you posted they look small and then they're not like well no because that's the pictures of pictures yeah you did like a top weird angle top down angle oh my god and then i was like zooming in on their hands i was like they're oh my god they're tiny let me look that's so funny she does they do look little right here like let me see this this way the main one they look small
Starting point is 00:22:49 look at those tiny people yeah but my dad is on his knee and he's at my mother's chest but then look at the there's they look like they don't look tiny there ashley don't do that well they look small here they don't look they don't well then everybody in this photo is tiny that's what i are you almost low-key calling maria midget she's a midget that survived i'm 5'4 so no maria's a i just didn't know if they were you know what it is is the clothes were so baggy back in the day look how big the shoulder you know what ashley it's the first picture i'm gonna i'm gonna tell my mom and the second and the third and the fourth it's the fifth photo uh i called my mother the day after her birthday and i was like um a thousand people said i happy birthday to you and she was
Starting point is 00:23:32 like oh people who are attractive but pretty people i think it's the way you took the picture the picture i'm sure they're normal if you meet them which you won't because they don't come to shows uh you know they're regular size my mother's shorter than me now though yeah because you know they're shrinking i know my dad is like kind of shrinking and my brother's girlfriend is taller than my dad i mean she's six two but he you know you're you're my dad was like used to be six three and now he's just kind of like yeah they like start to like shrink into themselves they're not even like bit they're just smaller getting smaller i don't know what y'all are talking about because i don't have parents so uh yes let's move on to something else guys i am you know black annie or
Starting point is 00:24:13 whatever you call her uh yes so you don't use um facebook because nobody uses it anymore it's funny we're talking about parents no offense i'm sorry yeah thanks i get it i get on there to check on my mom you know because she's on it hot she's like that's her that's the parents thing that's why we all got off of it because like people's grandparents are on it and they're and they're like posting fake news and you're like i can't be here wait whose family is doing that i don't know i mean that's what facebook turned into was just like parents sharing all those like fake news sites yeah it'll be like uh the articles will have these crazy titles like um uh i don't know congressman sex ring party thing and you're like what and the url is like
Starting point is 00:24:57 GunEagle.com or like something. Like it's not. I don't know. Right. It'll be like a lot of Onion News like article titles.
Starting point is 00:25:07 Yeah. The only person who's really good on Facebook is Janelle James and then that's it. Well, she's a writer. Yeah. I check her stuff.
Starting point is 00:25:15 I look up and I see like flyers and then that's it. Yeah. But comedy I feel like used to, I feel like a lot of comedians,
Starting point is 00:25:21 I mean, whatever. Most people are on Facebook. It used to be a little bit different. People would post more about shows. You'd message a lot about shows.
Starting point is 00:25:27 and I feel like a lot of it's just switched over to DMs and Instagram. Yes, that's true. Yeah, the only reason I still have Facebook is people book me on shows for it. I have it. I still have it. Apparently, I could just use Messenger.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Yeah, you could just use Messenger. I guess I don't even really need Facebook. Get out of Facebook. No, it's good for events, though. Like, if you're getting invited to an event, because obviously you can't plan an event on Instagram. Yeah, but I don't check my event invitations. I think there's some other better ways, too.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Like, I got something I have. Like? Tell us. Fuck, let me look it up. I got an event invite, and it was, like, via text. It was super easy. It took me right to, like, what's the old – some of those old school, like, RSVP sites. Yeah, but it was, like, a newer, fresher site.
Starting point is 00:26:07 My guy friend Rob's, like, always finding this new stuff. And I was like, oh, this is super – it just felt super easy, and it was, like, via text. Oh, I like that. Because I just – when you're doing Facebook invites, I'm like, people aren't on Facebook. Like, I know some people that just took it off their phone. Yeah. You know, I don't know. I don't check the – I don't check the invites.
Starting point is 00:26:25 I don't even, like, I don't know when people's birthdays are. I have missed all the birthdays. That's the main thing. I never used to miss a birthday because of Facebook. Facebook would update you and let you know a couple of days before that somebody's birthday is coming up. And now it's like, I do not say happy birthday until the day after. Same girl, same. Or somebody will post a picture.
Starting point is 00:26:45 But the way that this algorithm is set up, you'll see the birthday post two days later and you're like, oh, happy belated. Oh, sis. okay turn your notifications on yeah wait so this algorithm thing on instagram right okay it used to be posts would show up chronologically and now what is it it comes up based on how many people you follow nobody like everybody misses that i feel like they're like we're gonna give you everything you don't want yeah people just miss look why should i log in instagram one hour and then two hours later and the same post is at the top i don't want this yeah what is that i mean it's based on like popularity
Starting point is 00:27:24 I actually don't know I think they do a lot of shady stuff they do behind the scenes they do they put faces at the top and then like if there's
Starting point is 00:27:30 if it's a picture of like a landscape or something or anything else that isn't involving a face then it's gonna be at the bottom oh
Starting point is 00:27:36 what so faces go to the top faces go to the top but not everybody that you follow is showing up on your feed wait how do you know that
Starting point is 00:27:43 I feel like he's the social media expert oh no no no I just I remember hearing about but like if you notice if you go through your feed right now
Starting point is 00:27:49 it will absolutely like be a picture of someone's face I mean most It's my tiny parents that popped up. Pictures are, but. Well, my thing is, is that I was worried because I was like, oh, I think a lot of people got me muted. Like people that are my friends.
Starting point is 00:28:01 Oh, they haven't liked. Well, because the mute function is, ah, life saving. I was like, ah, people that you can't unfollow, but you want to. Right. What's up with that, Ashley? It's just like, if you don't fuck with this person no more, why are you following? Okay. I think there's, okay, there's a few things.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Yes. there's i have legitimate friends good friends that i don't want to unfollow because it's rude i'm one of their 300 followers why is it rude i don't know because i just don't want to hurt their feelings that i don't want to see pictures you're a kid but i just feel like that's why you mute it also i'll mute people who post too much people who post too much also i will mute a guy that i don't want to unfollow him to look like i care but i just don't want to see him in my feed so if like we had a little something now unfollow him yeah that i feel like with that don't you can go don't worry about um sparing a man's feelings because he's definitely not his feelings i like
Starting point is 00:28:52 looking like i don't care like i don't care about you enough to right i don't care enough so bye yeah blocked but not everyone has the unfollow app though they wouldn't see if you unfollowed oh i don't care about that oh yeah but how like this guy that you're talking about oh like how would he know how would he even know i don't know because he's like looking at my page well what's what's happening now is that sorry if he's looking at your page he can't tell that you don't follow him if he still follows you that's not how that works oh yeah right i guess he could he would have to i guess he could check his follows right well this is how you find out people are have unfollowed you if you all of a sudden like unfollow them then you see the button where it says this person
Starting point is 00:29:30 is following you are not following you it says follow back or follow yes so there's like people that i haven't followed back yet and it says they're following me and i'm like oh shit well that's how you know yeah that's how but you wouldn't but they don't know that you're not yeah they wouldn't know right well they can if you're not fucking liking any other thing well that's why what you do sis you just every once in a while you just pop into their page like a couple things and leave oh no because then you're trying to send a message if you're doing that if you like a few yeah just like like one or two like the first two top new things and leave or like laugh emoji cry to sum in the stories and go away you know what it is for me though is because when i
Starting point is 00:30:09 meet people or that i'm cool with people i'm not following everybody right away and there are people that i'm friends with and i've been friends with for a while that i never followed and i feel like it's too late now it is because they'll see you come through and then they're like how is she not and they'll be like then you gotta you gotta blame it you'd be like oh it's a glitch like you just gotta make it must i must it must have unfollowed you by accident and i mean but that but that does happen from time to time yes no i'm sorry they they i truly believe they just there's been days I feel like for a while
Starting point is 00:30:40 I was noticing this on Sunday for some odd reason and I my feed was people I have never followed I just I just know like I'm certain
Starting point is 00:30:47 are you using an app no just on Instagram like I just feel like they do weird stuff I think they put stuff in your feed yeah they do they have like
Starting point is 00:30:54 promoted posts but it's not even promoted like I'm just like she's just like random people that you don't I'm just like I would never have followed that maybe what
Starting point is 00:31:01 what does it look like just a person like I don't know that person do you get drunk in Instagram that happens too I don't get drunk, but I do make friends and then I'll be like, oh, I'll follow you. And then like a week later, I'm like, wait, who the fuck is this? You got to clean them up sometimes.
Starting point is 00:31:16 How do you do that? I'm following way too many people. Yes. Sydney's following 3,000 people. I'm not 3,000, bitch. I feel like mine's close to that too, but I don't, I still don't, again, the algorithm, I don't see half those people. Right.
Starting point is 00:31:26 I'm not seeing 700 people's things. Yeah. Also, like if you're not posting anything and you have an Instagram, don't expect me to follow you. You here to see so you can see what's happening. But I'm not going to follow your blank page. Oh, I know. It's private for what?
Starting point is 00:31:42 What are you private for? Private. I cannot. For work? Well, some people have stalkers or some people have people that are like. The people that have private accounts do not. Do not have stalkers. Are not that interesting.
Starting point is 00:31:54 It is always. Okay. Thank you, Andrew. A word. The only thing I guess I understand is if you have, like, a corporate job and you have a team that you're managing and you just want to keep it separate. Like, I have a friend that she manages all these, like, younger people. She works at some corporate job. And she's like, I just don't want to be seeing everything I'm doing.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Yeah, I feel like a lot of teachers, too. Teachers. Teachers will go private. Because their students will follow. Oh, yeah. And kids will look for you. And they'll Google and they'll find you. They'll find you before the end of third period.
Starting point is 00:32:22 They will 100% find you. They're following you while they're sitting in your class. I went to do, I did a, like a career day at a school in Harlem and they were like, what's your YouTube? And I was like, I don't have one. And they were like, found it. Like before I was even done lying. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:38 They're like, found it. And I was like, ugh. Well, some people now they have like a Finsta. So that's like. I have like a slight Finsta. Yeah. Okay. Get into it.
Starting point is 00:32:47 It was like an old, cause I like to like check on my exes and stuff like that. It's like one of my favorite hobbies. Well, let's tell people what a Finsta is. I don't, I think some people, Finsta is just like. a fake insta that's what it that's what the word means um i think it can be different things to different people mine is some people i know have like their other personality like they're like their work personality and then they're like you know like my friend kate her last name is weaver so her finst is bad gal wee wee like for breon and it's like her you know stuff that people she
Starting point is 00:33:17 doesn't want people to see but for most for most part it's just like an account that you can follow and stalk people that has nothing to do with you. Like we, it's like something else. Mine is like this old merch store I used to have. Like it's just the username
Starting point is 00:33:30 doesn't mean anything so I can just kind of check up on people, watch stories. But who are you interacting with on a regular basis on the Finsta? I mostly just check on
Starting point is 00:33:38 like a couple acts. Okay, well how many people you stalking sis? Let's talk about it. Like three. Three? That's it? That's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:33:44 That's a lot. No, that's not a lot at all. That's a decent amount. That's just small. That's small. I use the unofficial expert page just starts with people. Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:33:54 The unofficial expert page is your fin skill? Oh, yeah, absolutely. Wow. When people engage with us, bitch, half the time it's like, ah, I have to like this
Starting point is 00:34:01 and make a little comment. No, you know what, girl? Because I be looking at the Instagram and I be like, when do we follow these people? And now I know it's because you be just
Starting point is 00:34:09 randomly interacting with people on the page. I be unfollowing them, though, so I be like, no. They don't even know they're going to check. Well, no, because for the unofficial expert podcast
Starting point is 00:34:19 anyway, I don't like following people who don't follow our podcast. So I'll go and I'll look and I'll be like, this person lives in, I don't know, Delaware, and they don't even know what a podcast is. Girl, you know I'm from there, damn. Okay, well, that's aggressive.
Starting point is 00:34:33 I could actually, I could be an expert on Delaware. No, no, no, nobody needs an expert in that. Tell us one thing about Delaware. Nobody wants to know anything about Delaware. Tell us one thing about Delaware that you think we should know. One thing. Man, it's better than you think. I'm going to stop you on that.
Starting point is 00:34:45 We don't believe you. That's an absolute lie. When I think Delaware, I think dust. Yeah, absolutely. Like dust and like farms. Cars that don't work all the time. Tumbleweeds. Tumbleweeds and mobile homes.
Starting point is 00:34:54 Okay, I'll tell you what you need to know. No sales tax. None. Shop, buy thousands and thousands of dollars, whatever you want. Buy electronics, clothes, no sales tax. And I think in a restaurant, no sales tax, no sales tax. That's the only way people... So how are they making money in Delaware?
Starting point is 00:35:09 I don't know how that works. Delaware's good. The beaches are good. I'm thinking about it. I've never heard people like, we're going to a beach that's in Delaware. I've never heard anybody talk about that. it's better like the water is cleaner than a the hamptons like well we're not going there either so you have to bring the water back put it in a put it in a little thermos for us and bring it next
Starting point is 00:35:30 time you guys you'd like it we're gonna make some soup with it all right i'm triggered we gotta move on i'm triggered triggered she said this is homophobic and racist yeah you're right absolutely she's not here for any of these things i hear you i hear you um okay so you have a fenced out what so what are you looking for when you stalk these these exes i mean it's just to make sure they're not like yeah to make sure they are fat fat and not happy fat and like i don't want them to be like really unhappy but like just not as successful as me and fat you know i'm saying well actually you're you're on tour all the time you guys are selling out shows i mean i feel like you stunting on all your exes i am and like we built this podcast on the backs of our exes you
Starting point is 00:36:09 know what i mean really i mean we we just like i went through a breakup that was pretty instrumental and making me want to talk about relationships for a living so um do you want to talk about yeah what happened yeah i mean it wasn't anything super crazy this was uh my like most serious pretty long-term ex and it was just like a crazy relationship it was like we were super in love and then we thought you were gonna get married yeah so we were gonna get married super volatile too and i had to be the best right but like i don't know i didn't like it i felt like stress all the time and we were like always back and forth we were like together for a year then we broke up and then we were back and forth for another entire year and i was like this is like
Starting point is 00:36:46 hell how many years we were trying to go there just like two years two years like we were together for a year and then we broke up and then like the next year was just like together off on like crazy And you went to therapy with each other for it? We both were in therapy. And then we did like one couple session one time to see what it was about. But it was like real fucking expensive because we had both our therapists in there. Whatever. Okay, so both of your therapists had to be there.
Starting point is 00:37:11 It couldn't be like one special therapist? You can do that too. This was just how they were like, if you guys want to do this with us, because we've been talking to you about all this stuff. Well, they tried to scam y'all. Exactly. And they were like, we're both going to take our original range. And you guys were like, sure. I think they were like you can just work with one of us
Starting point is 00:37:27 but then once you feel like that person's on the other person's side you know what I mean whatever we did it once but I when I was in this relationship I just started kind of reflecting and trying to understand why we weren't working like why were we fighting all the time
Starting point is 00:37:42 what does it come from like he has a ton of trauma and like a totally different upbringing than me and I was you know gathering all this information and then kind of passing it on to friends and things like that and people were like you're really good at this like relationship stuff and it just i wanted to teach what i had learned in this like wild relationship and then eventually we did have to call it quits and then i moved to new york so so who broke up with who broke up with whom i don't
Starting point is 00:38:04 i mean i think the first breakup was him breaking up with me and then the second breakup was like me ending it yeah you got on back you were like i'm gonna win you're like yeah we can get back together i'm gonna move away like actually put the nail in this coffin that's the biggest one right there when you say i'm out and then you're out you're literally physically out because we lived a mile away from each other it was so hard to like cut ties yeah i wanted to move to new york anyway and there was a moment where we thought we were gonna move to new york together it's so laughable so glad it would have been a nightmare yeah um but you know i like wish all the best for him but do you though i here's the thing like i said i don't want him to be unhappy we he taught
Starting point is 00:38:43 me a lot we had a good relationship but i mean i don't yeah i don't want to be like more successful he won't be i'm not worried about it work i love that flex there's only one beyonce here not you not at all he told me that he used to do he used to do a bit about that cause we
Starting point is 00:38:58 he's a comedian oh girl you should have been left here ew girl why did you start up top with that oh my god
Starting point is 00:39:05 you should have said I dated a comedian and we would have said good that he's gone yeah we would have been like I'm glad you got out of it oh you're so safe now I'm safe
Starting point is 00:39:12 I feel safe you would never date another comedian right I would never you learned are you dating right now that's what you learned I'm not
Starting point is 00:39:18 I just don't care like I've been saying if there is like I think of it – if there's, like, a video game of being unbothered by men and not caring, I've, like, reached the top level. Like, there's nowhere higher to go. Oh, final level. At the final level, I don't – I've never cared less. I feel like I made this decision at the end of, like, 2018 where I was like, my life is so great.
Starting point is 00:39:38 We're doing big things. I'm so happy. I feel so accomplished. I feel so fulfilled. I'm not going to let a guy, like, get into my head and bother me literally ever again. I mean, I guess I could – Well, he don't have to be in your head, but since, you know, he is in your bed. He could be giving you a head.
Starting point is 00:39:50 Right. He could be giving you a head. That's what I'm saying. and that's I'm fine we went on the road met a lot of guys on the road
Starting point is 00:39:54 are you banging fans on the road they're not fans like one was a comedian like one was like Ashley you bring it back we didn't date
Starting point is 00:40:03 but still since you wanna get bed bugs you keep banging these comedians another guy was a guy I met on Instagram comedians don't deserve your punkash
Starting point is 00:40:10 no time I feel like that now at all I feel like that now you met an Instagram stalker uh huh what happened he was liking all your posts
Starting point is 00:40:16 from 98 weeks ago this was a guy in LA that I had a short thing with And we met because he threw my other big Instagram account called Bros Being Basic. So we met and then we hung out in L.A. So I just met a guy in Denver. That was like I was fucking in Denver when we did a show there. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:30 You were fucking in Denver? So Raina met a guy at our show in San Francisco. We do a live bumble. Uh-huh. Okay. So like that's part of the thing we do at our show. We bring somebody up. We bumble for them.
Starting point is 00:40:41 And we were bumbling and this girl met this guy. So when you say a live bumble, you go on somebody's account and you send messages. We plug their phone in. I'll match with people. I'll send them messages. I'll write crazy shit I'll just like ruin their whole life
Starting point is 00:40:52 in like 10 minutes and this guy we got him to come down there we got him to come down to the club and this girl and him like weren't really feeling each other
Starting point is 00:41:00 it was fine we did a funny thing with it and then we ended the show and then Raina got in touch with him to pay him back for the Uber and just you know
Starting point is 00:41:07 thank you for being such a good sport and then they started dating like it was wild she's still with him? no oh I thought she really liked him no no no no
Starting point is 00:41:15 he was I knew this story he was there for work he lives in Denver so this was in may early june and we had chosen denver in july so we're like this is perfect well he came to visit one other time so we go to denver and he had this friend his best friend he like lives with him they're a little bit younger and um i just started fucking him and dating him kind of like we were like ashley so we were dating these friends we were dating these friends tandem
Starting point is 00:41:39 dating and then they were gonna come visit right and then reina and her guy broke up no and my guy had the day they broke up he had booked his flight to visit me and i'm like how do you think you're still coming here this is crazy like well he was like i'm trying to you know i'm trying to give you this denver dick what you talking about wait you can't have sex if you're other friends i just kind of like wasn't into it he was like way too skinny and then i moved in this new place girl it was too much actually you're a good friend you're like if my friend's not coming i'm not it wasn't it was more like i feel like well i guess i'm a bad friend then it made it feel like more like pressure he was gonna come stay in my place like i don't want a guy what
Starting point is 00:42:17 What's he going to do before? I just feel like it was going to be the four of us. It's going to be more casual. Oh, you're playing games. Yeah, quit playing games with my heart. Yeah. I feel like I was playing games with his heart. Like, I didn't want him to come and be my boyfriend for the weekend.
Starting point is 00:42:29 And then I'm like, I was, this is, I'm not into this. Well, he said he was too skinny, but he was too skinny. He from Denver. He's getting high. He got munchies. He's got Wiz Khalifa crack body. Like, what did you, he was going to get thick before he got to New York? He was going to drink some insurance?
Starting point is 00:42:44 You're like, I don't want to have a fake boyfriend if Raina's not having a fake boyfriend either. That's kind of how it was. Oh, God. It was just... You guys are in a sorority. It was fun when it was like... Games. It was fun when it was like the four of us, and then they broke up, and I'm like, now
Starting point is 00:42:56 this feels serious. It was like you're like... Yeah, so what happened? You told him he had to cancel his flight? And then also, guys, I moved to this really nice new apartment. I was like, I feel like he's just not worthy of the apartment. Yeah, I saw your pictures. I saw them pictures, Ash.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Oh, wait, where? You moved to a different place than where you were when I came to your place? Yeah. Oh, nice. See, because I just moved also and I feel like not everybody's worthy to come into my space either. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Because you're not just going to be in here with your shoes, one. And your suitcase. And then you just unpack your shit and then you're just here for the weekend. What if I realize I don't like you mid-weekend? What if I get my period? Now I got my period
Starting point is 00:43:34 and I just want to lay on the couch and watch bad stuff and you here? And I've entertained you. And you want to see New York? And I can't pass you off with your friend because he's not coming because he broke up with me. So you're going to go with me the whole time.
Starting point is 00:43:44 You want to go to Times Square? Okay, so, yeah, so that was the real deal. The real deal is that now that they had broke up, then he was seriously going to be with you the whole weekend. That's what I felt like. You like when people come in, but then also have their own thing. And then, get this. I told him, when he was going to come, I said,
Starting point is 00:44:00 Friday, come whenever. Like, Friday, you can come early. I don't care. You know, I work for myself. I said it in a nice way, but I'll say it to you however. I just was like, I need him gone by Sunday. Like, afternoon, early evening. Two nights is enough.
Starting point is 00:44:11 And plus, I really have to edit the podcast Sunday night. I have to wrap things up. Yes, book your busy best. I just want it out. Sure. You cannot be here Sunday night. And why did he book it to leave Monday morning? No, he too comfortable.
Starting point is 00:44:21 That's what I'm saying. He thought he was going to be living it up with you. Well, he was like, well, the tickets are $23 cheaper if I leave on Monday morning. He booked a 6 a.m. Monday flight. I'm like, this was for the money. Oh, yeah. But he was like, I get it. I'll get out of your hair.
Starting point is 00:44:32 I'll get a hotel. I'm like, no, you're not. You just think I'm going to like you and then let you stay a third night? I'm going to get a hotel. told him he was like okay i'll figure it out if i even need to like stay somewhere else and then he sent me the flight confirmation like why does this say monday and he's like i'll just get a hotel and you know so if you're gonna get a hotel then now you're paying more than the flight so what are you doing you're gonna get a hotel by the airport what are you talking about what words
Starting point is 00:44:56 are you saying sir well you know there's there's hotels in brooklyn that he could pop off but i'm saying if he was trying to save money with a cheap monday morning flight he was gonna pay to say an hotel right you know what i mean he could have just booked the flight i think he just was like I like this girl. I'm going to stay with her. Is he the, wait, are you the only person he knows in New York? Because he don't have no other friends? I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:45:13 He's never even been here. Oh, that's sketchy. Oh, you getting one of them. He's from, like, South Dakota. Oh, that's worse than Delaware. You got fresh off the barn dick? That's crazy. Fresh off the barn dick.
Starting point is 00:45:27 Woo, that's jackass. We getting windbreakers. Fresh off the barn dick. I will say this. That guy was from South Dakota. Raina's guy was from Iowa. They could fuck. It was crazy.
Starting point is 00:45:36 Because they have nothing else to do. Yeah, all they're doing is watching corn grow, sis, and working on a technique. Yeah, they're looking at the clouds and making like stories out of them. They're working on, they're banging the corn. That's what causes crop circles. Those are the types that take pictures of leaves and be like, oh, look at this. Yeah, yo, I'm not here. That's the bottom of the Instagram feed.
Starting point is 00:45:57 Yeah, pictures of landscapes. But I feel like, yeah, so when I was on my Eat, Pray, Ho trip through Europe, which I went on right after I did your podcast. right after yeah and the french guy was like oh i want to come see you like i could be there i could be there in a couple weeks and i was like what i was like we spent two days together like what were the sex was not good oh god what are you talking what words are you saying right and he's like i was like where would you stay and he was like i would stay with you no i was like oh no you're not bringing that that that baguette dick here we're not doing that no ma'am that's so delusional but also i mean i would think that too i'd be like if i'm coming to see somebody
Starting point is 00:46:39 they're gonna be hosting me right exactly but i didn't want him to come he wanted to come but and i know he didn't know nobody in new york he'd never been to the united states i won't be having that no he'd never even been to the united states i am not gonna be your tour guide yeah and you statue of liberty no i'm not doing that with you i mean did you even consider for a second i would be like absolutely not well i did say no and that was it i would be like you can fly me back out to paris that's what i said and he want to see me again i'll take okay again i said all of that to him i was like oh the flight's back is expensive and he was like yeah you know it's just the season and i was like oh okay you're not gonna even pay half you're not even gonna put 88 francs down for
Starting point is 00:47:21 this ticket no euros so i was like well you can't come it's just it's rude i did pay that guy back for his flight though how dare you ashley well she's doing well you know i just felt like i don't want someone like losing money because i decided i don't like you anymore they felt like so rude well nah that's how the game is baby sometime you in sometime you out well you said he checked with you guys first yeah you said he booked his flight the day that they broke up he had 24 hours to yeah get that money back and he heard that he heard the story but i took too long to break it off because i was like i'll still make this work and then one time we had this we had we got on the phone and i was like i'm bored i'm like this is not when you're talking you're like fishing for
Starting point is 00:47:59 things i'm like i'm on my computer talking to reina like while i'm on the phone with him on speaker i'm like uh-huh uh-huh like while i'm like talking and he's like yeah so you know the the air is real thin here and you're like oh wow thin air he's like yeah you know so uh i'm just out here just looking at these mountains you know and okay i can't literally he would send me pictures of like mountains i know i know he would a landscape picture it would not make it to the top of the instagram feed though yuck so okay so we got that we got that out of the bag but okay so you have another instagram account what is it called so my big accounts are one called bros being basic um and that's close to a million i would just like not say it's a million say it's
Starting point is 00:48:42 a million i started that in 2014 and then right after that i started another account that is now I mean you can look at it it's funny but I just don't do it anymore it's called Fashion Dads and that was I mean it's nothing crazy but it was getting
Starting point is 00:48:55 Oh I liked Fashion Dads It was so fun it took a while well if you want to take it over let me know it was like I would write Oh okay let me see what the numbers are
Starting point is 00:49:02 I would kind of like make fun of fashion bloggers with like pictures of dads and I would write the captions very like today I paired a plaid you know button down Oh that's funny
Starting point is 00:49:11 and then Chrissy Teigen tweeted it was her favorite account No way She sent a picture of her dad in like I was DMing with her and she was like sending me pictures of her dad
Starting point is 00:49:19 I was like this is crazy so um but I just eventually couldn't keep it up and then now I have my
Starting point is 00:49:24 personal one and then girls fashion dads underscore 179k oh you know I'm gonna take this
Starting point is 00:49:30 and I'm gonna just switch it to uh Reezy y'all can meet me over at fashion dads oh my god slot on over to the dads
Starting point is 00:49:38 of fashion yeah the last time you posted was June uh 2018 I know what an amazing father's day
Starting point is 00:49:45 I got to relax all day long in one of my favorite looks um okay so it has 173 000 followers and then bros being basic is like male sex in the city kind of the bros being basic the whole the premise is what if guys acted like girls on instagram so i started in 2014 a lot of them do they do now though it's crazy back then it was kind of a joke and now it's they're really just acting like this me waiting on my soulmate goal weight and million dollars to appear despite putting in minimal effort toward anything
Starting point is 00:50:16 and he's wearing like a kimono robe at the beach i love that we love that um but that's kind of and one thing i realized and since we're talking about social media is when i started that account it was just pictures and i had these long crazy captions i would like load it up with funny punny hashtags and i noticed the account just started to it was it blew up immediately it was crazy it was i don't think that would happen today why did it blow up because it was i think 2014 this was do you guys remember like the days of like buzzfeed elite daily and they they all wrote about it and so it just it went crazy it was like a hundred thousand followers in five days no way it went crazy because all those media outlets were posting about it and all recycling the same story and um
Starting point is 00:50:57 i started we gotta get on uh uh buzzfeed but i don't think that wouldn't happen today it was just a different time so much and there were no when i started that the i knew of fat jewish fuck jerry girl with no job like betches and that was it and now there are so many meme accounts yeah so i this is original content though like i don't know anything that's like really similar where it's like a photo and then i meme it and turn into a meme but about a few years after the account started i noticed that the the followers were just dropping day by day and it was still just photos and i was like okay i just think i need to get on this meme game people want like a package joke they want to repost it with like basically the caption built in and so i started
Starting point is 00:51:37 making memes and it took off again and now it's like i would call it a meme account but before it was just like a comedy humor account right i would take the time to write these captions like people don't want it they want like stuff they can so are you doing this you're finding the photos and you're putting the caption yeah so i make them and i make them all on twitter like i just like the original because i mean memes started on twitter right the that font it was like a tweet and a photo and that was like a meme you know so i just make them in twitter i mean on the frozen basic twitter and i crop them and put the we love but it's so scary because you know everybody's stealing everybody's content and you don't know who's the original creator of it i mean
Starting point is 00:52:14 fat jewish you know r.i.p i mean he's alive but he's still alive and stealing things yeah but it's i mean i this is crazy i could talk about it forever but like i mean it's definitely changed at least because those guys started being held accountable oh i know this guy in this photo that you posted you do not yes i do you know who that is too messy ass oh yes what messy max every girl taking a trip to find herself and then it's a picture of a man yes his butt is naked and pressed against a pool wall love it listed it's so funny i've never recognized somebody in a meme before you recognize that ass except kermit well his ass is always out is yes always wait hold on let me pull it up the crack is always out okay i have a long
Starting point is 00:53:03 butt crack so do you where does it start i mean something crazy but like how high up is that why the delaware comedian left you because your butt crack is long you posted from delaware bitch i never lived in delaware as an adult i didn't like go to college and go back to Delaware. I can't believe you lived in Delaware. Okay, wait. So now when you started the account, you didn't know it was going to blow up, obviously, right?
Starting point is 00:53:30 Right. So what was your original vision for it? Because you had that and the fashion ads. Fashion ads started like a month or two later, and that was fully inspired by my dad. I was like, the shit that you come downstairs in to leave the house is crazy. And I just took a picture of him,
Starting point is 00:53:46 and I was like, oh, I actually, i mean i was already doing the parody thing where i was kind of making fun of like basic girls on instagram and so i was like i want to kind of poke fun at the fashion bloggers that take themselves so seriously i wanted to start uh like a an account like that and then i never did and it was gonna be called like beige and bougie or something i love that name actually yeah and then i never did it never happened i could have been verified two years ago yeah son of a bitch damn um but yeah i mean i so it started with a blog i used to be a blogger i've just always kind of like pivoted like oh blogging's over oh it's you know instagram what's next what was your blog
Starting point is 00:54:18 about it was it started as a beauty blog like i i was into beauty stuff but i feel like no beauty blogs were funny i was like i want to make like a funny if that even exists and then it just transitioned into more like pop culture social media i would have stuff go viral like people that's all they cared about they wanted to see the humor stuff they were like you're not a fucking beauty blogger you don't even know how to contour so i'm like so are they wrong they were no i still okay so they i basically had this idea when basic came out right because i was 14 we didn't know we didn't use that word i mean you guys probably did because black people start everything but you know what i mean but there it is heard that whoop there you heard it here first people don't
Starting point is 00:54:52 realize that i think no they know they do do they okay people know when they go into the store to steal they don't know when they're remixing cornrows and call them boxer brave just because just because they cut the tag off that don't mean they didn't steal it and they know where it's from Okay well I want to make it known The things that start I'm like that was probably Something that started on black twitter or just Amongst black people And then like what white person
Starting point is 00:55:19 Ever said it's lit none I mean they're saying it now And that's why it's cancelled When hot girl summer started and Miley Cyrus tweeted about it Sydney you were the first person that we heard Say it on our podcast I swear to god
Starting point is 00:55:34 I hadn't heard that term But I mean you were on the podcast in the summer Yeah I was Like in the beginning of the summer I was like what did she just say Megan Thee Stallion let us know what it is A rapper from Houston And nobody knew who Megan Thee Stallion was
Starting point is 00:55:50 Until you know black twitter brought her up to the charts And then everybody was like oh We love her now Yeah we did that But yeah I mean I feel like the memes It's hard to get into it if you don't know How to make a meme
Starting point is 00:56:05 No, well, my question for you, though, is this. How often were you posting to get that, like, interaction with the people you were interacting with? Back in the height of Bros Being Basic, I mean, I tried to post every day. Every day? Yeah, and it was, but people, my DMs are still full of submissions and people still tag the account. It's still alive and well. I still make some money on it. Okay, well, now let's talk about the money, sis.
Starting point is 00:56:30 What are we talking about? You got almost a million followers. What kind of money are we talking about? Oh, my God. Good money? yeah I mean but I haven't pay your rent money yeah pay your rent money
Starting point is 00:56:39 but I haven't pursued like brands and stuff like it's I'm not saying the count's gone downhill but I've never really had to go out and like get brand deals
Starting point is 00:56:47 like they've come to me I worked with Spiranoff for so many years I've worked with FabFitFun Popchips like all those brands oh FabFitFun
Starting point is 00:56:53 they sent us a little box shout out to them yeah so now I feel like I'm like I'm just sitting on money that I'm not yeah sitting on money
Starting point is 00:57:00 but like I'm not making it like I want someone to sell it like I want somebody to come in and like take control of it because I don't have the time or the capacity. You want to sell it to them? I don't want to sell the account.
Starting point is 00:57:07 I just want someone to like come in and do the sales. Oh, okay. You want to pay them? What's this? What are you looking for? We got somebody. Andrew's good at social media
Starting point is 00:57:16 and he needs some money and he's good at being basic. Okay. Thank you. But you were just on the account. Did you see it? For us being basic? Oh my God, I love it.
Starting point is 00:57:26 Yeah. Exactly. Okay, look at us trying to get Andrew booked. But you know he got to be here every other Saturday. Okay, that's fine. Not every other Saturday.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Every other Saturday for the book. for this he said he's got other things to do marie every other saturday we need you here yeah that's not that big of a commitment yeah you can do the sales during the week who's closing deals on saturdays i mean i guess some people i mean andrew could right here the deals are here this is a deal how dare you um okay let's talk about benefits yeah what kind of benefits we're gonna give andrew for being i don't even have health insurance there's no benefit so did uh you make a commission though andrew you under your parents insurance you good yeah i'm good oh you're 25 24 23 23 i turned 24 next month oh when is your birthday november 20th oh cute we should
Starting point is 00:58:10 do something for your birthday yeah we will i mean i don't know i mean you probably got plans i'm gonna put it in my calendar i'm putting it in my calendar right now and watch watch who texts you on november 20th i would have already texted him would you have i feel like sydney would text me like happy birthday also like i need this okay she'd be like i need this happy birthday yeah exactly sorry sydney november 20th wow but a lot of your texts are needy oh yeah but i'm more than happy to do whatever you know i'll take my business elsewhere because if marie would ask you to do something she wouldn't have paid you so how's about that what you're talking about when did you pay him i paid him yes i paid him for helping me with the
Starting point is 00:58:52 flyer for the flyer yes okay well you asked him for help for the flyer sis you should pay him exactly if you ask for help you should pay i'm gonna go this literally is every week yeah i was like oh my god no this is i'm like witnessing a breakup no this is they break up every week every week okay but i got it it's fine yeah got it got you boo okay anyway uh so did any of the followers from um those accounts travel uh transfer over to yours to girls yeah so yeah and that was we for girls gotta eat so i uh i had bros being basic when i started girls gotta eat my personal account was like nothing crazy it was probably even like under 10 000 um and reina had this food instagram which she has since she doesn't do food anymore
Starting point is 00:59:42 but when i met her i met her like on this press trip and that's when she was doing one hungry jew and it was like food it was new york food photos and she had like 300 ish thousand so uh i just combined forces we did we combined forces like i wanted to partner with somebody that well a like she's the perfect person regardless of her following but i also wanted someone that could bring a following to the table when i asked her to do the podcast because it was my idea and i asked her to do it with me so we were able to push it out to a million instagram followers day one you know not saying that they all would be interested in it if they're following bros being basic that they'd want to hear this podcast about dating but so you said you pushed it out
Starting point is 01:00:17 you like posted about it on your pages and then every week we were doing like every week i would post post on bros be basic because i'm like this is my account i built this i'm gonna use it to to put it push out this new thing reina too i don't do it as much as i used to but we feel a we think the content's great and you can't force people to come back but we were really lucky that day one we were like we had this huge following to just let people know about this podcast because we were like what do people do i mean you guys been doing this for a long time I'm like, I remember when I moved here, I saw you guys and we're like, they're so hilarious. And I found out about your podcast.
Starting point is 01:00:48 So you had podcast before a lot of people. But like, well, we won't. We don't own it kind of late. We've been doing it for two years. Yeah. But there are people who have been doing it. Shh, Sydney, shut up. But there are people who've been doing it.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Like when we started our podcast, we felt like everybody had already had a podcast. And now after two. And then it's still every day someone starts a podcast. Yeah. And we're like, oh, like now truly it feels like everybody has a podcast. Yeah. And that's even how I felt with Instagram, which is wild to think about. Like, starting that account in 2014, I'm like, is Instagram over?
Starting point is 01:01:20 Like, you know, I didn't know. Five years ago. There's other humor accounts out there and little did I know. I mean. It's so big. That was the best time to start it. I mean. So smart.
Starting point is 01:01:29 People are literally paying their rent and buying homes and doing everything through Instagram. I mean, so much so that, like, Forbes had to add that category on the Forbes list. People, like, top paid influencers. like people making like millions of dollars I think YouTube is where people really make
Starting point is 01:01:47 first started making money also YouTube and then like so many people from Vine like came over to create Instagram content and they had these kids like these
Starting point is 01:01:55 this rabid young audience rich ass kids with like no qualms to make themselves look bad or like making other people look bad that's what Vine was
Starting point is 01:02:03 for so long for sure but now I mean what is that TikTok is this like TikTok is a big deal is it just like Vine yeah but I feel like
Starting point is 01:02:10 no I feel like it's more more of a purpose and it's it's definitely well curated what okay and it said tiktok is well curated it is so what is tiktok it's not videos of people just jump cutting to things no some some of it is just like a full-on production like they they have the whole thing continuous because it's only a minute well i feel like so then it is like vine isn't that what vine was it's the same thing a lot of like lip syncing for a while yeah that one mariah carey thing that went crazy viral yeah exactly did you guys see that no stop it oh my god and then she and then she responded she kind of went viral for a minute she was like doing why are you so obsessed but she was
Starting point is 01:02:50 like crying and like doing the moves like real half-assed she looked like she just got dumped and then had to do a tiktok no that sounds like mariah carey wow she'd do but she'd be disheveled hey mimi see you love you um okay so tiktok is the new thing what do you think is the next wave for social media i i do not know i mean this seems like tiktok seems like it to me like i feel like this is the thing that people are going to start i guess getting followings on and being like i don't want to say celebrities but like i don't know i feel like all roads lead back to instagram well because instagram facebook owns it like they're a crazy company like i was listening to the podcast recently like they they need to be broken up it's too powerful like what they did
Starting point is 01:03:33 with the election i mean it's just like it's too big of a company i mean it's like what did instagram with the election well like Facebook ah okay um so I don't Instagram is still clearly alive and well and Twitter is doing well as as well yeah I like I know a lot of people who like do those front-facing camera videos and like go viral and get a big following and then Twitter yeah on Twitter and Twitter's done great with live streaming stuff like Twitter's where I get my news straight up like that is where the news breaks first yeah I get my news there if it's not trending on Twitter that means it didn't happen like if someone dies I'm like well let Let me see what's happening on Twitter.
Starting point is 01:04:06 No, I go on Twitter if I think Instagram's down. So if Instagram starts glitching, I go on Twitter and put Instagram down. And everybody's like, I'm over here on Twitter. Check if Instagram's down. Like, it is still the most current and the best, like, up to date. Yeah. And also where black people start trends, you know? I mean, we just start trends everywhere, sister.
Starting point is 01:04:25 It's not just Twitter. We're in your communities. We're in your homes. We're in your basements. Literally anywhere you go, we there. Hide your kids. Hide your wife. Because we're making all the trends.
Starting point is 01:04:33 That's what we do, baby. you date us you take stuff from us and then you put it in Vogue I don't disagree Jennifer Aniston shut down Instagram
Starting point is 01:04:44 she just got on Instagram three days ago and then Instagram shut down because it got like the most amount of that's crazy Jennifer Aniston
Starting point is 01:04:52 of Vino Smartwater Rachel from Friends Jennifer Aniston yes because the gag is that she doesn't know how to do Instagram so she's posting okay but that
Starting point is 01:05:00 the first picture was a selfie of the whole cast People lost their goddamn minds. Let me look. Let me look. The whole cast. Well, who took the photo?
Starting point is 01:05:07 Ross with them long-ass arms? Ellen DeGeneres? Who took the photo? Jennifer. I mean, it was a big deal. It was real, like, depixelated. It was such bad quality. It was not good quality.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Yeah, it looks like she took this on an Android's friends. They're not looking for quality in these fans. I mean, Monica's face looked puffy. Looked like she just got Botox. Joey looks good. Phoebe's not even really in the photo. A man's page as well. And then Chandler looks like the dad.
Starting point is 01:05:37 He looks like everybody's dad. Yeah. And now we're Instagram friends too. Hi, Instagram. Okay. Well, it was a big deal too when Will Smith joined Instagram. Remember that? Well, he was paid to do that though.
Starting point is 01:05:49 That was crazy. But she's getting paid also. What does she have to now? She's at 14.4. She was 9 million day one. It was wild. She has three posts and she's 14.4 million followers. My friends call me Jen.
Starting point is 01:06:02 Okay, Jen. for Instagram what does Brad call you just call me friends call me Jen for Instagram work I think just video content
Starting point is 01:06:11 in general is like the next is like what people want like on Instagram like they've done such a good job
Starting point is 01:06:16 with the IGTV and I think they realize I don't even use the IGTV it's just basically now what it is is your longer videos just go into it
Starting point is 01:06:24 they gotta fix the dimensions a little bit but I just think they I mean Instagram took over what Snapchat was doing like well that
Starting point is 01:06:32 cause Instagram okay so it was Twitter was just words Facebook was just like friends from college or whatever and then Instagram used to
Starting point is 01:06:41 just be photos and then when Instagram added video and then stories it was like well I don't need none of this
Starting point is 01:06:48 but the kids like younger kids are still on Snapchat for sure I don't even use I deleted it I deleted it I mean it's the thing
Starting point is 01:06:56 I'm talking like young like nine year olds I know they're crazy yeah I don't know if you know about like streaks and they think that we're old
Starting point is 01:07:02 on Instagram what's streaks on snapchat they're all like oh my like little cousins are like obsessed with like we need to have we need to snap each other every single day so we have a streak going yeah you know so you could take account like you could see next to your like friend's name like 98 or like a thousand you know every single day so you send me a photo and then i send you a photo and then it's just like it could be like you don't like don't drop the ball yeah yeah exactly because they just want you to be on your phone every single day that's too much yeah but it's the kids that are starting
Starting point is 01:07:34 these streaks for themselves it's not like it's not like snapchat is saying you know snapchat isn't telling them to do that but just it's it's unconsciously making people think of ways to be on their phone all the time and people just like kids like to flex on like who my best friends are so like
Starting point is 01:07:49 back in the I don't know if they still do it but it was like obviously your top friends but then you would like catch your man you're like why is that bitch your top friend who is that that's my space remember my space I love me so much Why am I not in your top eight? Or I have you number three on mine, and you got me number six? That's when the world was so different, and I loved it.
Starting point is 01:08:06 MySpace, you could play a song. What was your song? Remember when we would like, you could code the background, and you would just be like. It would stretch across just a scroll. We were real. You would have money turning in the back. We were artists. We were legit coders.
Starting point is 01:08:20 We were like hacking into things. You would just come to a MySpace, and it would be like, oh my God, I was in the party. Yeah, music would be playing. The theme, the colors would be a certain thing. Let's bring MySpace back. Yeah, my profile pic would change every other day. It would get raunchier and raunchier. I was like, I need more followers.
Starting point is 01:08:36 I need more people to be like putting me in their top. Yeah, but if you were truly a hoe on MySpace, you would have had, you know, all them fans maybe would have crossed over to Twitter and then Facebook and then Instagram now. No, never had that. You would be girls being basic. Mm-mm, not at all.
Starting point is 01:08:51 I mean, but there's got to be another wave. There's got to be something else because I feel like we are definitely playing out all these apps and there's got to be something that well i mean you can go viral without instagram twitter or tiktok right i mean how you go viral if you're not on any of the apps i don't know what else there is right now i mean something else will come up i mean honestly it just turned into podcasting like it just turned into like that for that's been my career trajectory it was like blogging instagram podcasting you know
Starting point is 01:09:20 so i mean everybody what's next podcast i don't know guys stop pressuring me i don't know we came for you to tell us if i could if i could think of what was next i would just make it and be a billionaire i don't know so i mean i also just think people in general though like when we're talking about anything i i hate this is gonna sound so cliche but it like truly is authenticity like i think people are starting to see more through the bullshit more than ever before like a lot of these bloggers and they're like the younger kids are so much more woke about when they're being served ads and what's like actually authentic content and that's what people ask me all the time they're like how do i do this thing that you did and i'm like do you even care
Starting point is 01:09:58 about it like no you know like you can't mimic somebody else like what do you actually care about doing yeah like if you well they want to skip the work and they just want to get to where you're at that's it that's what that means how do i get to where you at and right it's like this took a long fucking time and they're like no no i don't want that well how do i get it now right but yeah that's why everybody's getting into podcasting because they know that you can reach more people in different places without actually having to be there. But the actual groundwork
Starting point is 01:10:25 that you have to do to do a podcast is grueling. Right, and I just think, I mean, one thing that we... Grueling. I don't know if it's grueling. Grueling. It's fine. And I think just the direct link to your fans. So, like, what would happen if Facebook shut down tomorrow? It's not going to.
Starting point is 01:10:41 But you lost all your followers. We need to be better about building our email list. I mean, that direct... We don't even have an email. yeah yeah you're gonna bring it back to we're gonna be doing like if people have your uh fan page do you have a fan page on what facebook yeah oh let me say this too so we start a facebook group like a like a private fan group and they the it's really been cool to see so all these girls are in there they're making friends like a girl will post like hey i'm going to the chicago
Starting point is 01:11:10 show anybody want to meet up before and they're we love it it's like our favorite thing right write that down write that down we're gonna do that so that's um and that's I said I was on Facebook just to check in on my mom
Starting point is 01:11:19 but I'm in there everyday looking at what these girls are saying also we need to monitor a little bit like you know every once in a while somebody will say
Starting point is 01:11:24 something crazy but we've kept the super female only as much as we can safe space for women so no men we don't want them in there like cause we want women
Starting point is 01:11:32 to talk about like don't feel like men are looking and judging and they talk about dates and they share they're always looking and judging
Starting point is 01:11:39 we're kicking them out but it's been like a really special thing so I think that actually is one of the things that's keeping Facebook alive and I've heard this from other people
Starting point is 01:11:46 that have podcasts with a big following that they are doing these groups, they're fan groups that are private that people are in there like really chatting
Starting point is 01:11:55 and making friends. It's like a really beautiful thing. But these girls are young, right? These are... I mean, we think we have a pretty young audience
Starting point is 01:12:02 but then we'll see women in there that are like, hey, I'm one of the older listeners. I'm like 40. Like anybody, any other...
Starting point is 01:12:06 I know, I love it. Any like divorcees want to hang. People are just like... And you'll be like, blocked. I'm like, ew. You'll be like,
Starting point is 01:12:13 You're bringing the group down. Any other divorcees want to hang out? No, divorcees are cool because when they hang out, they'll be like, oh, I got a girl. Should we get a bottle? Yes. Should we get a bottle for the table? Do you guys want to get some tapas?
Starting point is 01:12:24 Should we get a carafe? Yeah. I love a carafe of wine. Yes, divorcees. Or tapas. I love when they say tapas. Tapas, I was like, but we're at an Italian space. Yes, tapas.
Starting point is 01:12:36 Tapas. Just a few small plates. Can we get, yeah, what's the mozzarella that's like all melty? Burrata? Yeah, the burrata. Should we get the burrata? Should we get the burrata? Should we get some fries for the table?
Starting point is 01:12:47 They love ordering for everybody, too. You'd be like, but wait, I didn't order this artichoke dip. What are we doing? Well, you'll put it on your card. I love that. I'm hungry. I have to catch a bus to Atlantic City right now. Girl, what are you doing there?
Starting point is 01:13:00 Comedy. I'm opening for Roy Wood Jr. Which place? Borgata. Girl, Atlantic City, man. I've never been to Atlantic City, so I'm excited to take the bus down there today. so we went there the bus is brutal
Starting point is 01:13:13 I'm from like that area that bus it's insane I'm sure it is but Amtrak is too expensive no you can't do it
Starting point is 01:13:21 Amtrak was gonna take more time we rented a car and there was three of us I had like some discount for an Avis
Starting point is 01:13:28 because we were like the bus is brutal and the car was like a hundred bucks I mean the bus was $26 so I'm gonna go ahead and do that
Starting point is 01:13:36 for two hours and then but we did a show there this summer at Caesars And I'd never experienced this When you walk in your hotel room Like the first thing you do
Starting point is 01:13:45 You open the window You're like what's my view And it was of the lobby So I'd never stayed In an interior hotel room That is the most Like What floor were you on?
Starting point is 01:13:55 Like third? Like fifth or sixth And looking into the lobby Into the lobby Well because the outside You really want to see The outside of Atlantic City I'd rather than the inside
Starting point is 01:14:03 Of a hotel It was so depressing And then your cell phone Doesn't work Because they just want you To like live in there Oh wow Yeah
Starting point is 01:14:09 No thank you That is brilliant. All right, well, looking forward to that this evening. It's a mini Vegas in New Jersey. I mean, that's all you need to know. But that's why I've never been to Atlantic City, because I've been to Vegas too many times. All they have are outlets.
Starting point is 01:14:18 There's no real stores. I'm not going outside. I love a kiosk. I'm going to go to the buffet. What's the problem? I'm going to eat. I'm going to sleep. I'm going to do comedy.
Starting point is 01:14:26 I'm going to come back. Yeah. Hit those Tanger outlets, though. Oh, my God. So what is next for you, work-wise, do you think? We, I mean, we're just, I think eventually, Raina and I have talked about developing the scripted show. uh but now we're just trying to build our brand i think when people ask who's your
Starting point is 01:14:45 idol i always just say rihanna on the business side because of what she's done with fenty and like that's what you want to do like that's what you do that's you want to start some somewhere you want to build out something you build like that's why kylie is the most successful kardashian well i mean it's it's like you gotta develop something we say we say we say what we want but the numbers don't lie she is successful at what she does yes but she's my least favorite she didn't do any of the work girl i'm with you she just and she's my least favorite i'm just saying and also what is she did makeup what else is what other where else did she branch out oh she got the shoes with her sister no i'm not i'm all i'm saying are the numbers that's all i'm saying
Starting point is 01:15:25 like but it's more so developing like the product i mean i i don't do not like the fat shoe i'm not a fan but i admire what he did with the rose and he just sold it to anheuser-busch for millions dollars i mean he did yeah so so smart white girl rose i think people don't realize they're like that the gravy train on instagram is gonna end like these bachelor people and these influencers i'm like you're not gonna get being paid from sugar bear hair and fat fit fun forever like it's gonna end you got to figure out you got to develop something on your own or figure out what your next thing is start a podcast whatever it is um but yes eventually we'll want a product line we don't know what it is yet i think a scripted show is in the is in the works and then we're
Starting point is 01:15:59 just touring and trying to um ride that as long as we can we're doing a lot of theaters next in 2022. Woo! I heard that. Theaters. Touring is important because then the people who follow the podcast
Starting point is 01:16:11 actually get to see you in real life and they be the most hype because they're like, all I hear is your voice and then when they see you, they're like, I'm telling everybody.
Starting point is 01:16:18 Everybody has to listen. Yeah. Everybody has to get on board. Meet and greets with everybody. It's really nice to meet them. Ooh, meet and greets. Have you, okay, this is my last question
Starting point is 01:16:26 before I go. Have you met anybody, met and greet anybody that was like, ah, you're strange. You should probably meet them. Yeah, the ones that are the worst thing that happened to me and green yes this girl came up on stage i'm not going to say
Starting point is 01:16:38 the city but my least favorite city and she came up and she had been dming with a guy i used to talk to and she showed it to we we since ended like we broke up it wasn't we never really dated we were talking we had a thing and we ended it and he knew she was at the show i don't know how him and this girl started dming knew she was at the show and she runs up on stage and she showed reina like look i'm dming with this guy and reina goes don't show ashley by the way just like who cares you know this is and ran over to me showed me and i was like i don't she knew that this was somebody that i don't know she knew but like reina specifically said hey just that's funny but don't show ashley i don't really she's not gonna care and she like didn't listen ran over
Starting point is 01:17:17 to me was just all up in our shit and then i was like oh that's cool yeah we used to kind of date or whatever and um i was very nice i'm always super overly nice the meet and greets these people paid extra money to meet us right gave her a hug and was like yeah totally you should fuck that dude you know whatever and sent her on her way and i got like the nastiest dm from her afterwards and she was like what your response to that was the like epitome of not being girl power we're not gonna listen to the podcast anymore it was bananas i was like bitch you ran up on stage with a dm in my face of a guy i used to talk to wait okay it was crazy she knew you used to talk i did and then i told her and then i don't know what kind of response she wanted gross i do not
Starting point is 01:17:55 know it was like a delusional we're not gonna listen anymore so that means they used to listen to what he'd been together? I'm confused. I don't understand. Not we. She meant like me and my girlfriends. Okay, well then guys
Starting point is 01:18:04 Not her and that guy. It was just so weird to run up on stage. Like people just want to be involved. They feel like they know you. They feel like we're all friends. Because they'll like
Starting point is 01:18:12 we've had situations where like there was a Raina was like kind of talking to one of the guys that we had on the show and other girls would be like hey, any advice on how to slide into his DMs?
Starting point is 01:18:22 And she's like bitch, I'm talking to him. I'm in his DMs. Yes. It's crazy. They just want to like be involved you know like that corinne and christina they they're corinne's been like i never talk about who i date these girls will like try to fuck them insanity but but their
Starting point is 01:18:37 point for the most part we we love our listeners that was one bad experience of hundreds of people we've met yeah but their podcast is called guys we fucked yeah so they not talking about who they banging now i don't know what's going on no that's meaning that she doesn't specifically say who she's trying to like keep it close to the best so yeah oh no sometimes i say but for the most part i just want to make it clear i'm not i don't we love these we love all y'all psychos except that bitch except for you yuck why ain't nobody trying to fuck adrian that's crazy y'all y'all not trying to slide in adrian's dms y'all need her y'all need her instagram stuff okay well you know nobody knows who i'm banging i'm not banging nobody uh i mean i did i mean you know let me
Starting point is 01:19:19 stop talking about it um you've been squirting yeah you know i'm out here destroying people mattresses. Hail Mary. Just destruction all over. Ashley, thank you so much for being on the podcast. Plug everything. Your Instagram handles and whatnot. Yeah. Ash Hess.
