Forever. Dog.
Hi guys.
Whoop whoop.
Hey friend.
Whoop whoop.
How you doing?
Coo coo.
I don't know what any of this is. Are the cops coming? What's happening sis?
Hi.
How are you?
Ah, what a great day.
You look good friend.
Absolutely not. I am haggard, you know, just out there supporting friends in Harlem the night before.
Okay, far.
How long did your Uber pool take to get home?
bitch like an hour and a half wow you could have taken the train with me i was like yo but i took
that cute ass nap and i was like god is good so when you take an uber pool from that far away from
your house how many people are you picking up people in the city too well to be honest i took
an uber x but i was originally gonna do a pool i was gonna do the pool how much the x cost it was
$40.
$40.
Wow.
But the pool was $38.
So I was like, I might as well just splurge.
Yeah.
And you know Adrian wasn't trying to split it.
And I was like, wow, you're just going to have me pay all of this by myself?
Sounds like you need to get a boyfriend on the side.
No, he would have been like, yo, we taking a bus.
He'd be like, put your arm out.
Come on, we're going hitchhike to Bushwick.
Exactly.
Come on, put your ashy ass thumbs out.
Oh, shut up, bitch.
Yeah, exactly what you said.
Well, we did support a friend yesterday in Harlem.
You know, I honestly
I've been to Harlem six times in my life
And I'm from here
So if I'm going up there, someone's paying for food
Or somebody that I like
So shout out to Amina Imani
Yeah, it was quite inspiring
To see my friend actually do comedy
It was weird
She was up there looking real juicy too
She had the shirt tucked in
She had the toes out
I was like, nigga
I was like, is this a special?
Is she doing a special right now?
okay to be honest by far the best person in the show oh the host was trashed you know
we'll bring her in and have her talk about it yeah a minute uh um we were at the store
earlier today and uh this girl was like i listen to your podcast all the time and me and cindy were
like what's your name and she said it and we were like we're gonna remember that so we can shout
you out i heard deirdre and i heard bianca okay so we already forgot the name shout out to deirdre
and or Bianca.
Dear Drebanka,
Bianca,
we love you, girl.
We were like,
yeah, we're going to shout you out.
Forgot it immediately.
She was still in the store
when we forgot her name.
Yeah, I was like,
girl in Mystique.
And then Marie was like,
don't tell anybody
we was in Mystique.
Say we were in Saks.
Say you saw us in Saks.
Niggas know that
we will not be in Saks
unless somebody
gifted us some shit.
Well, maybe somebody
was gifting me some stuff.
You know, we verified now.
Oh, true.
Okay, blue checks.
Blue checks.
Blue checks, baby.
Blue checks, not bringing in no checks.
Blue checks, no checks.
Wave check, no check.
All right, it's hot in here, and I feel like it's too many people at the table.
Okay, wait.
I'm supposed to ignore them.
Right, right.
So what were you an expert in this week?
I was an expert at forgetting people's names.
You see, I'm just trying to keep it moving.
That's what you do.
That's what you do.
That's what I do.
What were you an expert in?
And I was an expert in supporting my friend.
And I bought an extra ticket for my girlfriend.
And mind you, the ticket, I thought it was a ticket, but it was.
Did you buy an extra ticket for your girlfriend?
I bought a ticket for her.
Because Adrienne said you made her Venmo you the money.
I did not.
For her ticket.
She sent me the money, but I didn't ask for it.
But did you take it?
Did you take the money?
I didn't ask for the money.
Okay, see, so then you didn't, okay, wow.
Anyway.
You facilitated the ticket.
Back at the ranch, it was not a ticket to get into the Apollo.
It was a parking ticket for Apollo.
How much did you pay for this ticket?
$27.
That shit is, Apollo is a scam.
The show.
Was the show $27?
I don't know, but they scammed me.
I have the ticket to show you.
It's just a parking ticket.
The parking ticket is $15.
And then there was some kind of fee that made it $27.
And I just needed to get it.
Nah, you bought the insurance for the parking.
That's what happened.
You know, you got to read these things before you hit confirm.
I was just wanting to hurry this up.
And I forwarded it to Adrienne and she didn't read it.
So it's really her fault.
It sounds like y'all need more books in your lives.
But the good thing is, is that somebody online had two extra tickets and then we got in because you were late.
Wow.
Look at God.
When I tell you God be providing for you, say Lord.
Good Christian gays.
Good Christian gays.
Speaking of good Christian gays.
Speaking of gays.
Our guests today.
One is not gay.
One is gay adjacent.
No, no gay no more.
Adjacent is the right word.
She's delivered.
Delivered.
Right.
Saved.
okay and this is the first time we've ever had two people in the studio at the same time no we
had corinne and christina yes we did have them that is true yeah i i'm i forgot uh here's
something that we yeah we're cutting that in we're cutting it out uh our guest today this is the
first time we bought somebody back though yes and y'all know first time yeah aminah imani she uh
hosting it with us
every Sunday.
Hey boo.
What's up?
And your sister
Nzinga
a twin
they are
you want us to say
your last name
because you got a real job.
No it's fine.
I mean
everything is private
and protected.
I don't know
what that means.
That means her
you only have access
if it's granted
but hey.
Oh I like that.
That's a move
for 2019.
And they are
girl it is like
June.
you just decided what your moves for the year are i mean that was i just learned it
you only have access if you're granted okay flip it and reverse it let's bring you in one more time
um there are twin experts give it up for amina and nzinga yeah oh i didn't know i couldn't talk
y'all was doing my intro yeah like you've never been in a podcast before i held my breath for
five minutes. It's been five minutes.
You didn't even wait that long. I held my breath
for five minutes. Y'all had me dying.
I couldn't laugh. You could have left.
I forgot to say that. I wanted to chime in.
It was so entertaining.
Every time I watch y'all, it's crazy
how I'm just
still amazed. Well, that's how
we felt when we saw you on stage last night.
Look at that. So we all go together.
That's crazy. I think that's why
we're friends. Honestly, we
can't have a friend that's not doing that well.
We don't have a separate group chat.
Wait, can we get sis in the group chat?
I feel like you're the type that just will not even respond.
Yeah, I am.
You don't be sending memes.
I'm the type in the group chat that will read the message and be like, and put my phone down.
But you also seem like the type that maybe won't read the thing.
You just like look at the preview in the notification window.
And don't even open it.
And then you're like, I'm going to get to it later.
What do you do?
Sometimes.
It just depends.
Zynga, I feel like you leave people on read a lot.
You got your read receipts on?
No, absolutely.
I actually try to be that person that is very
responsive however it just
depends like if I'm during the middle
of the day if you're texting me while I'm teaching
I'm going to have to get to you later
did you hear that folks
she got it just
she's teaching the youth
she's teaching the youth
she's a pillar of our community
I definitely am
if you want to Venmo her something that would be great
what's your Venmo
Nzinga Murphy
you got to spell that
Yeah, you don't even really know how to say it.
N-Z-I-N-G-H-A-M-U-R-P-H-Y.
What does your first name mean?
Beautiful and powerful.
Remember the dude at the club last night that asked the girl what her name meant?
And she said beautiful too.
And he was like, in what language?
No, I was weeping.
I was weeping because she didn't make that up.
She didn't.
It means beautiful.
Well, I mean, it's 2019.
You can say whatever you want.
You got to come up with a better lie.
It's 2019.
I'd be like, it's one of Abraham's wives in the Bible.
yeah
because everyone's
believing you
exactly
oh I know
what's in the bible
okay
tirade
as soon as it gets
religious people are like
is she right
exactly
but Sydney
what does your name mean
what
nobody has ever
asked me that
now
I don't know
how old I am
but I've known
I'm gonna google my name
right now
nobody has told me
what my name means
can you google mine too
the way it's spelled
or the white people way
just probably
just probably Google Sidney
like with
Sidney Poitier
or maybe Sidney Australia
no
I feel like Sidney means
Sidney means
relatable
just like you
that's what it means
that's what it means
people person
very common
sounds like Sidney means liar
but no
but the way you just said it
I believed you
and then I just heard you
no not know your name
I don't know my name
no I would have believed you
if you hadn't said
no one ever asked you
Sidney means
it's a French baby name
uh but the american version it means what follower of
follower of a saint follower of a saint of saint denny's i don't i don't know him follower of
saint denny's you're like denny's i do love a diner that's my shit you do okay lover of diners
lover diners that's what it is that's what my name means sydney means uh steak for the table
Oh, steak freaks.
That's what I like.
I love a steak freaks.
Oh, that's perfect.
Oh, that's perfect.
And Amina, what does your name mean?
But you should put that in your bio.
It means truthful.
Really?
All the lies you can tell in a group chat.
The number of lies I've heard you tell.
You are the fakest person I know.
But can I also tell y'all that Amina was Prophet Muhammad's mother's name?
I don't care about none of that.
That was in Ecclesiastes.
What book that is?
Genesis?
All I know is Amina that's in the New Nick Nigga group chat lies.
That's the name of our group chat.
It's called New Nick Niggas.
New Nick Niggas.
Okay, wait.
So y'all are not identical twins, but you look exactly the same to me.
Who's the older sister, Amina?
I am.
Six minutes.
I know.
Y'all about to learn a lot about us.
Yeah, everyone thinks that I'm the oldest.
Because you seem more responsible.
And look how you've been talking for the past 10 minutes on this podcast.
Loosen up.
Okay, she was like, however.
currently sincerely
and most importantly
honestly I don't think
anyone's ever said
however in the two years
that we never
you said how
I said wow
we should put that
on her shirt
well hold on
hold on now
however hoodies
hold on she's a teacher
because she knows words
but also I've seen
her drink Hennessy
with apple juice
let's talk about it
your birthday
two years ago
that's when I met
your sister
and I was like
Amina y'all are
definitely nothing alike
oh my goodness
which I fell in love with her
that's in the past though
so
yeah but when I first
met your sister
I was like
ooh Amina
that's you with money
yeah
I said Amina
look at the gym sis
look what the gym can do
the before and after
she's after
oh wow
well Amina is the older sister
yeah I am
so about six minutes
okay
wow
came out first
and they said
Zynga didn't get enough food
I ate all the food
so she was like
a few pounds
lower than me
I see it
I kind of see it
I could kind of tell
32 years later
I see it
wow
wow
it's like wow
yeah
I mean
it all did
I'm not body shaming
my friend
it be your own people
my friend is beautiful
I love her body
you know
I love my friend
I mean
do you consider yourself
plus size now
I mean
somebody did call me
a BBW the other day
but I retract that
and
I don't think
you reject that
in the name of the Lord
exactly
but I don't know
man, the sizes I've been putting
on my body, I'm like, I gotta stop.
I'm definitely in that full
figure. No, you're not. You look slim
last night. Well, slim is the wrong word, but you look good
last night. Sister, please stop.
Please stop. Guess my size.
What size y'all think I'm wearing right now? Well, you're not
our size.
Well, first of all, though, we probably
would never. What do you wear right now?
She's like a two. Yeah, we would never.
Last time I was wearing a two, yeah.
You said middle school. Middle school, yeah.
Wow. I was wearing kids. That was that
teacher's shade right there.
She said, you got that little body.
She said, okay, JonBenet
Ramsey.
Toddlers and
tiaras, we're adults. Right, right, right.
Cool, cool, cool.
I just want us to make sure, listen,
everybody is set up differently.
I just wanted us to be clear
like, okay, let's put
things into perspective.
Oh, I see. Now y'all teaming up.
They finishing each other's shade now.
Finishing each other's shade.
Well, we're actually sisters in shape.
I'm also a size two.
Are we identical twins, Marie?
Maybe.
We borrowed them jeans.
You still wearing natural deodorant or can I use that blouse?
Oh, sis, you're going to have to wait.
We're going to put it in the dry cleaner.
You're wearing natural deodorant, Sydney?
Adrian got me on and out because she says, I don't want you to have cancer.
And I was like, I'm ready to die.
It's fine.
I don't want to smell like this anymore.
This is weird.
this relationship is a lot
it really is stressful
what's the name of it
she has to carry
she has to carry with her
because she got to
reapply every hour
but you know
I wear natural deodorant
so we should talk about this
okay so what do you wear
I wear Green Titans
but it's $15
does it work
yeah it works
sis what you wear
yeah how you feel sis
let's see
I feel better
natural deodorant
it's going to be a no for me
I'm going to send you
some of what I got
this is not good
I mean it's just
if you have to
I'm not carrying my deodorant
well the fact that
the crystal deodorant
says crystal on it
is real that's meth yeah that's meth with a roll on top um okay wait hold on okay i'm back
yeah i'm back i just i do smell a little it's fine um you're smelling yourself that's why you
paused the whole podcast you just smell yourself i'll be okay this way does adrian smell the same
way no adrian doesn't smell i've never smelled her ever like underneath her arms her her vagina
is always super clean.
Wow.
Can't do dripping.
Her butt's clean.
She's like the cleanest person
I know.
Why you putting her business
out there?
Her butt's clean?
I just want the listeners
to know my girl has water.
Since you lose
what you brag about.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
You might want to calm down.
That sounds like
Abraham's wife right there.
Because Portia was just
on Breakfast Club
and she's like,
I'm about to tell y'all
about my man's stuff
because that's how you...
Wait, but I thought
it was a storyline.
Is Portia really
with this man?
Yeah, they're married.
She is.
They serious.
girl. It's for real, for real. And she's having a baby?
The baby's had. No, the baby's here.
Is the baby cute? Unlike
our friend Amina,
you have a son, right? I do. How old is he?
He'll be five in June. Five in June.
Yeah, that's crazy, right? And
your sister has been a great... Smart co-parent.
Yeah, because you've been taking him.
Yeah. So the first
time I met you,
I was asking Amina, I said,
Amina, does your son, can he tell you
guys apart? And y'all were like, yeah, he
knows his mom. But
Literally, y'all walked in here and I was like, well, which one is my friend?
No, it's not.
As he's getting older, he's mistakenly calling me mommy now.
Well, that's because you're doing a lot.
You're doing a lot.
You know what I'm saying?
When he was younger, like he already knew.
But now he'll be like, mommy.
And then be like, I meant Titi.
So he does it more now.
And I'm just like, it's crazy as he's getting older.
But we put my son to a serious test.
He can tell us apart.
Taking out pictures of real babies.
Really?
And my mans would sit there and be like, my mama, my Titi.
Wow.
I had to put that on YouTube.
But Amina, it sounds like she was the skinny baby, you know?
So maybe he like know which baby, the long baby.
That's crazy.
That's crazy that you would throw all that shade this way on a good Friday like this.
Amina has actually always been the skinny twin.
Let them know, sis.
So I can just, you know, give out the facts.
This is the first time in life that Amina has been, well, except when she was pregnant,
but in our adulthood that Amina has been bigger than me.
Yeah, when I first met Amina, she was like, I felt like you were close to my size.
No, we've, well, I know she's never been close.
She's still talking about toddlers and tiaras.
Amina was probably a size six.
She was smaller, and I thought Amina was gay.
She did always have her shoulders up.
You did think Amina was gay?
I had gay shoulders.
Very gay shoulders.
Oh, wow, that's crazy.
Her haircut, her gay shoulders.
Honestly, when you was going through your gay thing, everybody was like, we thought it was going to be you.
Your gay time?
The family said that to me.
they was like oh we thought you was gonna be the gay one and i was why is that are you more of a
tomboy no i honestly don't even i would have i don't know that's weird to me well you know me
but i don't know maybe because i'm like a tomboy i'm always like one of the homies you know like
yeah i definitely always want to give you a hug yeah like i'm all i don't know i think maybe that
might be it i'd be tapping to meet up stay sharp uh so tell us a little bit about where y'all are
Because you guys are a little twangy.
The listeners don't know y'all.
We're from Atlanta, Georgia.
Well, we actually were raised in Atlanta.
So we actually were born in Rhode Island.
And we moved to Atlanta.
But don't tell nobody that.
Don't tell nobody Rhode Island.
Just say Atlanta.
Well, it's part of our roots.
I just want to be honest.
Yeah.
Wow.
I be lying.
Because a lot of people in Atlanta be like,
you weren't born in Grady.
You weren't born there.
Don't do that.
And so we moved to, our family moved to Atlanta when we were three.
And so out of the seven of us, we have five other siblings.
we were the only one who went to
public school and so that's why
we have a southern accent
oh so that's the
miseducation of
okay cause
it could all be so simple
we went to school with the commoners and this is now
how it sounds I'm sorry you went to school with
the paupers the paupers and
but you're a teacher so it's fine
so you're teaching kids with this twang
listen teach the babies with the DC twang
yes absolutely that are very
cultured so now we
yeah you could tell our southern charm
off top from our beautiful accents
I mean we didn't say charm
it's definitely a charm sis you don't see this twinkle in my eye
sis I thought those
was eye boogers
I do feel like you're really good with people
you think so? yeah I mean you know how to get in
there you think so? yeah that's how
we became friends
you can automatically tell
at your face you don't want to have nothing to do
with nobody so that's why when people
mistake you for Amina it's like
absolutely not. She is
Stone Cold Austin looking at everybody
like, what are you looking at? We're not doing here.
Listen, we became friends because you
were stalking me at my show.
I need you to stop with this
narrative. I gave you an opportunity for your career.
Bitch, Amina, I remember
you coming to the warm up.
Tell him. And I had,
it was the day I met you and you were like,
y'all got some time?
I was like,
sir, I don't know you.
I was coming for my reparations. You need to let
I know.
I was like, yo, my man.
Amina, stop it.
Marie, and let's not talk about how you pulled up on the show.
You didn't have your ID.
You said, can you come outside for a second?
And you're like, yeah, I'm going to need your ID.
And I said, wait, you want me to give you an ID and some time?
You got pick and choose, bitch.
What you want?
You want to get in?
Just one of them days.
You want to get in?
You want to go home?
I was stalking you, Amina.
No, I was just playing.
Amina, tell the story from your perspective.
Maybe you remember it different.
Yeah, well, I was just being foolish.
I would come to her shows.
She came to my shows a lot.
She had a weekly show.
And then she wanted to do comedy.
Yeah.
And then I gave her some time.
This is before you started doing comedy?
Yeah.
Was this before the titties?
Oh, you had the titties.
No, this was before the titties.
Yeah.
Flat chested?
Yeah, flat chested.
Mamina finally gave me some time.
I bombed.
It was fine.
Wait, how long have you had these boobs?
These, I don't know, like four years.
Really?
Yeah.
No.
No, I've known you for five.
Okay, so six.
It's been some time
It's been a long time
That was a long time ago
Yeah
When we met
Yep
And here you are
Still friends
Yeah
Oh I did have boobs
But I had my first round of boobs
When I met you
And then I got new boobs
Right after that
Wow
I didn't know you went in twice
Yeah I had money at the time
She was like
Make them bigger
Yeah
The doctor was like
Okay
I was like
Well I'm gonna do a payment plan
You know
I'm gonna do a
You know
200 here
500 there
That's what I'm imagining
He's looked like the way they do.
It's fine.
Yeah.
You're not ashamed.
You got a blouse on.
Your boobs look fine.
She got a sheer blouse on.
Thank you.
Why are you covering your boobs with your hair?
Because I need Amina to do my hair again.
That's what I really need.
I got you, sis.
I got you ASAP.
Oh, tell the listeners about your many businesses that you have.
Let's just do your hair right now while we're doing the podcast.
That's what I thought.
The mics do swivel.
Just swivel the mic.
I did ask you about that.
I was like, if you could do my hair while we do the podcast, that would really make
it the black experience.
Yes, yes, yes.
and said nah
no because I don't think
you've ever done hair
while doing a podcast
no that'll be something new
we'll be changing
everybody's lives
first I bring an extra person
now I'm doing hair
it's like
a new vibe for y'all
well
I wanted to say this
you guys have been
it's gonna be shady
I already feel it
changing the narrative
yeah
Amina loves us
do you love us?
I love you a lot
yeah both of you guys
oh my god
okay listeners
can you please give
Nzinga money
I mean she is
first of all
say her name right
Yeah
Nzinga
An Nzinga
Well because it starts with an N
And then it's a Z
And you know we like
Well what a foundry
Nzinga
Nzinga
You guys have talked about
Your first time of when
You met me
But my first time
I think experiencing you both
Was at our 30th birthday party
Which was the most lit
Party ever guys
No we definitely had a blast
However y'all came in
Very vicious
Tell us
Tell the listeners about them
Okay tell us about ourselves
I was like they're monsters
Because Sidney popped the air mattress?
No, that's a lie.
Y'all came in with all the shades.
Y'all was very judgmental.
And then on top of that, very opinionated.
And I'm like, first of all, I just met you.
You were in my house.
I've seen you before.
What did we say?
I don't remember.
You're a liar.
But I loved every moment because it's just like, that's what you live for.
And I said, I love them.
How do you remember us that clearly though, dude?
You was pretty lit that weekend.
You only get first impressions once.
And so my first impression, remember, y'all stayed right at my house.
We did.
Yeah, we did.
We were very thankful to be able to.
At the condo?
Mm-hmm.
At the little townhouse?
We was there.
I feel like you had a porch.
No, I didn't.
I was like, Amina, you had a quick comedy.
And a backyard.
I said, your sister's doing it.
Wow.
What y'all don't know is that, well, y'all probably know by now, but Amina's the messiest
person alive.
So everything y'all said behind doors, she told me.
So she was like, oh, so your sister doesn't live here.
Who said that?
Wait, what?
I don't remember this conversation at all.
Which one of y'all was talking about?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I was like, yo, these girls are messy.
That might have been you, friends.
I love it.
Honestly, that's what happens with mess.
You say mess, and mess begets mess.
I know, and I forgot about the mess I said.
That's crazy.
No, but when I saw the birthday and saw you guys together,
I was like, damn, I wish I had a twin.
Like the bond that you guys have
And the love
It just can't be replaced
And it's just so great to see
And you guys had like matching outfits
And it was like y'all too old for this
But it's fine
Yeah didn't you guys
Didn't you guys
We didn't have matching outfits
But you had the same shoes
And we just so happened to have the same shoes
That was actually just a coincidence
She had bought it somewhere else
I bought it somewhere else
And then we came together
And it was like oh my god
We got the same shoes
But I just
Even when I was in your bathroom today
we use the same
everything
facial wash
facial wash
I'm like
this is not the same
makeup wipes
sometimes we have
the same nail color
at the same time
what?
and it's something
we have
and you guys both
got the same nose ready?
at the same time?
she used to use
Sensadine toothpaste
but then she
I thought she had
cold paste
why did you just switch
because they said
when you use
sensitive toothpaste
it actually makes
your teeth
a little more sensitive
yeah
so that all
is by coincidence
yeah it's not
nothing really discussed
okay well let's talk
about some of the stuff
that
our twin stuff
yeah did you guys get your piercings together we did we did yep against my mother wishes did
you guys get your period at the same time no no we had two different experiences amina had it first
fast you fast ass and it's also funny because my first time we were actually at a swimming meet
and amina had to help me to teach me put a tampon because y'all were teaching each other how to put
tampons in my mom was going to be found well my sister was up too close no my older sister was
She was supposed to teach me, and she was swimming in the water already.
We was at practice.
She doing back shrugs.
So I had to come outside.
My coach was like, hey, hey, hey, why you not in the water?
And I'm over here like, I'm like, Zadia, I need assistance.
What's the age difference between y'all and Zadia?
Two.
Two years.
Oh, okay.
I love Zadia.
So we kind of grew up as triplets.
Yeah, that's why people only think it's just us three, but it's four more that are older than us.
But it's like a 12-year difference.
So that's why.
And we look different.
They do.
your brother
definitely
he's like lighter
yeah I have a light skin
my dad and then my mom
is the darkest side
so I talk about my light skin
versus my dark skin
side of the family
you do do that in your
you did not do that
I didn't do that last night
I've never had dark skin
oh yeah
but it's different
they all ratchet
it's just a different type of ratchet
yeah
well I know we were there
we were there for the
birthday and I was like
oh Amina
we're her close friends
yeah yeah yeah
because she's letting us see
a lot
so much
so
So much.
I mean, but honestly, like, my family, they chill.
Like, y'all come through.
We had a good time.
It's not really nothing to be, like, hiding or anything.
I really think at the end of the day, we have a good...
When we're together, it's actually better.
It's when the family is apart.
You be like, well, what the hell?
Like, let's just have a family reunion so we can come back and enjoy each other.
And love each other.
Yeah, but it seems like y'all are pretty close.
Because you sent, like, you sent your son down to D.C.
And, like, right?
He goes to camp by you or with you.
so like
you have a really
good support system
let me tell you
before my son
I wasn't even rocking
with my family
after my son
that's all
you were like
oh yeah
thank you so much
for giving me
I need all y'all
were you there
when she gave birth
I was not
where were you
I was actually
on the bus
back to D.C.
oh man
we had did lunges
and squats that day
and I had to go to work
the next day
right
but he came right
after she
he came right after I left
when she left
to go to the bus
I started having contractions
did you come back
Just at the weekend, the next weekend.
She's like, sis, the baby already coming in.
The bus was not refundable.
I was like, yeah.
She wasn't going, and then when you buy a day of it,
it'd be like $90.
Right?
Yeah.
It's like, I'm not, I'm not doing that.
You're like, I already didn't pay $20.
You be on the Pumwa bus.
Yeah.
But my oldest sister was there.
She cut the umbilical cord.
Zadia.
Okay.
When Amina was pregnant, how did that make you feel?
Because did you feel like, oh, look, that's me pregnant too.
Kind of.
Absolutely not.
Amina was still
walking faster than me
when we were
trying to catch a train
it was
it was no difference
at all
she was still
shaking and moving
yeah
honestly people think
twins are
we have a special bond
but honestly
we're just like
best friends
that look alike
right
so y'all don't feel
each other's pain
y'all already got
the key ingredients
like if you tell
the person everything
if they're involved
in every part
of your life
like that's already
kind of what a twin is
I don't have any
friends like that
I tell them everything
I mean
Sydney
i know hey marie i try so hard i try so hard no because i feel like y'all know probably every
detail about each other growing up so you don't like she has she's about you know she has her
boyfriend like it's so out of man how was the transition you know you was with a woman for a
long time now you had a guy he's actually quite nice i like him yeah there was no transition
needed at all.
So you just want to forget about
that whole ass relationship
you had with a woman?
Well, this is the thing.
You see, this is why
you straight bitches
fuck y'all.
Fuck y'all.
Y'all want to come over,
hang out in the pool,
and then when you done
flipping, flopping your feet,
then you're like,
oh, you know what?
Actually, I don't even like water.
I don't even want water.
Who set these boundaries?
Why we can't just do
what we love to do?
Well, sister, first of all,
when I was with my girlfriend,
we still used a strap-on.
That's why I'm trying to tell you
there was no transition.
I feel like we're sisters now
because you're telling me
everything podcast just got
okay she dropped that however
real quick however
we were strapping on
so like if you want to be honest about it
you're over here taking everything personal
okay let Sidney be the advocate
for all lesbians
so I'm going to be the advocate
for people who taste
the water and then you go
taste the rainbow bitch
how do you taste water
let me taste this
hold on
Yeah, and I ask Amina all the time.
I'm like, girl, you don't want to try that?
Ooh, this water bad.
You don't want to try that?
Well, it's not artisanal, but you know, it's Polish.
No, that was Amina talking about being gay.
She's tasting the water, the gay water, and she's like, no, thank you.
Me okay, me good.
No bueno, no bueno.
No bueno.
It's missing something.
It's missing the dick.
Yeah, that's what it is.
It's pain.
That's what it's missing.
A hundred percent.
and then when we
like we were very serious
so then we started
talking about having kids
and all this
and I'm just like
I'm not paying this money
when I actually liked it
wow
so that's what made you
how long were y'all together
we were together
for four years
that's a long
fucking time
imagine Adrienne
woke up tomorrow
and was like
that is not how
it happened though
but I'm just saying
okay well let's talk about it
leading up to it
I feel like Amina
had something to say about it
she was probably like
come on back on over
to the
I was actually very
supportive during her whole time i don't i mean we give us each other judgment and feedback but
it was toward the end that that's when i was like girl you gotta get up out of here
yeah my girlfriend was very jealous and like she's the reason why i deleted my instagram account
oh how many followers because it wasn't a lot like
oh so we don't even have to mention it
she said it was like 800 don't be lying listeners get my sister's numbers up now
I need y'all to follow her
on the ground.
I'm saying because
she literally be like,
how is this person following you?
Why did they just like your picture?
Why did you post this picture?
It just sounds like she was unemployed.
That's some unemployment shit.
That sounds like some real
Lawrence insecure.
Nina was at a comedy show one day.
We were laughing at some jokes.
She didn't think I should be,
have been laughing at those jokes.
She left us.
Could you imagine performing
and coming outside
and you ain't got no ride no more?
You thought the show was going good.
Thank God for Uber.
you were like
wow who are we
going to get something
to eat
wait hold on
your ride left you
yes
that's domestic abuse
my girlfriend at the time
not my ride
it was my girlfriend
at the time
yeah that's
domestic abuse
yeah
but the whole time
that they were together
in the beginning
it just seemed like
it was better than men
but then after a while
I'm like girl
that's the same relationship
I just hate
you need to let that go
so
your man was leaving you too
I feel like dating
I feel like dating women
has to be hard
no
I just
I feel like
it's a lot of emotions
and feelings
oh my god
we going through the pads
and the tampons too fast
Haitian Marie over there
no emotion at all
who paying the check
like I just
it's too complicated for you
it's too much
I mean honestly
when you like simple things
you just keep it the way you like it
I don't knock
you know y'all vibes though
do your thing
all I know is
is certain things that I miss
and me being here
and I'm not getting back
until Sunday evening
at 11 o'clock
I will come back home
and all of my food
is prepped for the week.
He's going to rub your feet.
No.
When I was with my girlfriend,
all of my food
was prepped for the week.
I had my Brussels sprouts,
my salad,
my chicken grilled,
my mushrooms,
everything.
So I feel as though
with that woman intuition,
I was like,
Marie,
I'm planning to get me
a little food.
I will say with the women intuition,
we know our needs.
And so that was the one thing
that I do appreciate.
I feel like now
I have to advocate more
and be very communicative
about what it is
that I need
and I have to be
very clear and concise
whereas when I was
with my girlfriend
it was a lot of things
that I didn't have to voice
because
I must not be gay
because I be like
I don't remember
or feel nothing
that's just my experience
of course everybody's
experiences are different
I mean I don't think
Adrienne's ever left you
at a comedy club
no she would never
no but Sydney
you have Karen Park
for you
but she do be prepping stuff
and we be having food
for the week
the Instacart
if she wasn't doing that
I feel like you would
just eat out
I feel like she kind of reels you in a little bit
And be like, today we doing broccoli
Oh, I forgot to bring
Oh, she has the ice cream for you
Oh, and I brought you a Biscoff
From Thailand
You know they sell it at Walgreens, right?
So you saying Thailand, but it's from Thailand
Did you hear the twist?
She been getting Biscoff all this whole year
I'm bringing Thailand Biscoff
It's the same dryer shortbread cookie
Shut up, Marie
Don't stop it
I should have brought one for Marie, my boss
My mouth is dry just thinking about it
Before you met your girlfriend
Did you and Amina
Have similar types in people you like?
No, and it was weird
She would be in a relationship, I wouldn't be in one
I would be in a relationship
It's like twins can only handle one relationship at a time
I think so too
And we actually, when we went to
Twins Day, which is in
Twinsburg, Ohio
Tell the listeners what that is
Explain the whole scenario
It's just where all sets of twins come
Like quintuplets, what is it?
It's like a festival for any doubles, any pairs, any pairs or multiples.
That's what it was.
Any pairs or multiples.
So the name of the town is Twinsburg, Ohio, because it was two twins that died at the same time.
It was like one was a mayor.
It's like a real weird story.
You know, maybe somebody fact check it for me.
But it was like two brothers and then they died in the same place at the same time.
So they named it
The place after that
Since did somebody
Make a show out of this
We can make this a pilot
Okay
We get some hints
On MTV
Remember when they used to do
My Life or something like that
Oh okay
True Life
It was True Life
And it was two twins
Who were going there
To search for twin boyfriends
Because they only wanted
To date twins
There's couples like that
And then they get pregnant
At the same time
They get married on the same day
What about the twins
That play tennis
And they live together
They share the same bank account
They're like double tennis players
I would like that
and they live in the same house
so we're the opposite of that
because when we went
it was these two twins
that were like
hey you guys
and we were like
yeah
you know
I think we've always
actually
tried to be different
yeah
we actually went to Twinsburg
with different outfits
and Ellen and Helen
bullied us
80 year old ladies
and was like
I can't believe y'all came here
not as twins
y'all need to have
the same nail polish
shoes
so we had to go shopping
and rearrange everything
she twin shamed y'all
yeah she really did
where'd y'all go
we went to Rainbow
she wasn't gonna say it
don't tell her
I mean
it's like
it's like
sophomores in college
like come on
it was okay
but we did
we had to get
those pictures
all the time
but why would y'all
go to Twinsburg
to experience that
and not bring
a single matching thing
you know what it is
when we grew up
from the minute
we always had to
dress alike
and I think
after a while
we went through
this thing in middle school
where I had like
cut her face
out of all my photos
oh my god
Did you accidentally cut your own face out of one of the clothes?
No, I knew exactly what I was doing.
And so.
With them lefty scissors.
The scissors that be like turning a little bit.
I'm precise with the scissors even till this day.
I know.
I mean to be cutting things.
And you know it's a Polaroid too.
So it's thick.
It had layers.
And so after that, especially like we wanted our own friends.
We just kind of, we needed that distance to make a healthy connection for ourselves.
We were tired of being the twins.
it's always the twins
you're not seen
as two people
you're always seen
as one
they would call you guys
the twins
when did y'all
stop dressing alike
because I feel like
parents like that
like my mom used to
dress me
I want to say
maybe 6th grade
yeah middle school
we probably didn't
dress alike
but then high school
we started getting
back into our love
high school we found
it was cute to be twins
so we kind of
y'all started getting
friends
y'all were wearing
crop tops
the thin belt
and the G-unit sneakers
that was our social status
clap hands
at that point
y'all was wearing
Echo?
Yes.
No, we actually were not wearing Echo.
However, we would have.
Okay, so Echo adjacent.
Yeah, we weren't fortunate to be wearing name brand.
I didn't have no Marshalls in Atlanta.
There we are.
Because that's where I got mine.
I don't want my mom to go with you.
Marsh Exposed, maybe.
And then my dad would go take us and give us gift cards to The Gap.
What's wrong with The Gap?
The Gap is cute.
Pull a little button down for some slacks.
Now, because we're adults, but in high school,
what, you wearing knits in the homeroom?
Slacks.
Jackies
I don't know
We're gonna put you
On a nice flannel
In the Atlanta City School
A cardigan
I don't see what
The problem is
A kerchief
Where did you grow up
Sydney
I told you
Oakland, California
And then I moved
To New York
Which I was wearing
In Oakland
Oh bikies
Not Nikes
Bikies
Those were your shoes
I think that's
A different culture
Like back home
It's like
It's like hood rich
You feel me
Yeah so it's like
Labels
That's why like
Feli
Yeah, that's what the people...
I grew up with war, but I wasn't...
My parents weren't buying me that stuff either.
So when I went to a Marshalls or a TJ Maxx
or a Quota Sale somewhere,
it was like, look, look at my Echo.
My one name brand thing.
But see, that's you as one. It's two of us.
And now we gotta come together to get two of the same.
We need two.
And then it was three of us, so my mom really went
shopping for us like that, and we swam.
So we did a lot of sports, and our money
really went to those activities,
because swimming is expensive.
But swimming paid for college.
My mama did it right.
She did.
She baby.
Baby.
Scholarship.
When Amina,
okay,
so it was at your 30th birthday party
when Amina was,
I learned that y'all had went to Howard
on swim scholarships.
Did you hear that listeners?
Repeat it one more time.
They went to Howard
on a swim scholarship.
Niggas made me win.
I didn't even know Howard
had a swim team, sis.
That's how impressed I was.
We didn't know neither
until they wrote that check.
How much are you?
I think I can do this.
That's insane.
So what, did you guys ever have to swim for each other?
Like as each other?
I paid a zinger to swim for me.
How much?
You made her pay you?
No, because it was events you don't want to do,
long distance, stuff that you don't want to do.
So I'm like, yo, I throw you $20 to hit this 200 brush stroke.
Our coach used to make us swim everything.
And it's like, we're not good at everything.
And so he's just like, it's training.
Either way, you'll get better.
and so we've switched up
before
because no one
could tell us apart
with a swimming cap
and the same swimming suit
so I'd be like
swim this
and then
she'd be like
swim this
no really
so we would
interchange our events
but then it would be
events where I would
only have
so then I'm like
sis
like what I gotta do
for you to swim this
wait am I being gross
like what
isn't
like they can't tell
your face
but your body
right
no our bodies
were very identical
like y'all had
the same butts
we had broad shoulders
we had the same shape
so if you guys
took your tops off
right now
are you gonna have
the same boobs
well she's had a baby
and we don't swim anymore
you're disgusting
Zynga said nah
my body's still tight sis
she's coming with
so much new gay energy
what is this
new gay energy
she's like energy
both of y'all
gonna pull your
like we're at a podcast
where no one
can fucking see us
calm down
Sydney got her tits out
take your shirt off
oh sis don't do that
don't act like
I didn't see some stuff
in this scene
she did see some stuff
you lived in the past
and i was like oh amina i know what you look like now oh my goodness no um but when we were younger
we both had like broad shoulders boxy shapes no hips so it wasn't like we weren't fully developed
like it wasn't like that so you couldn't tell us apart my coach nobody could tell it my mama
come out there blind like which one is which go amina no that's a zinger swimming some like so
a stranger would have to tell her that's in zinger swimming it says it in the heat sheet
your mama like well i forgot my reading glasses at the house so i couldn't really tell exactly we
used to play tricks on my mom all the time like what so she would come back in the room and i put
on the same outfit and come back to see if my mom peep and she it's only one person who knows us
sharp and it's my auntie my aunt debbie really yes on the phone and everything oh no our aunt
debbie she's been battling cancer for some years now so she wasn't able to make it to her 30th
birthday. But we love her dearly. That's like
my homie. Does she have any
Venmo?
Oh.
Do y'all make a lot of money from
just saying? The way that Sydney's talking, it seems
like we make no money. Let me be very clear
about what my cash app was.
But my line is about to say,
y'all can just send me the Venmo.
Yeah, Amina's gonna, they're gonna
twin, they're gonna share it.
I'm gonna make
sure my auntie see it.
you see this jacket i got on this for you auntie
wait can that be merch this one's for you
they don't stop they did not stop this is what i'm saying like from the beginning i'm like oh
i was not ready yeah we're just rude being anyone up there we were like okay i was surprised y'all
Okay, we hopped in a Honda, a 1996.
What was we driving in?
It barely had AC.
It felt like a Camry.
Yeah.
And we came and we did our due.
We had a good time.
I had a great time.
I think that's when we bonded, huh?
Yeah, well, when I saw all your family, I was like, oh, I love family-oriented people.
They usually come from good places.
Even though I know I saw your family, I was like, oh, they down to earth.
You know?
Down to earth.
Quote, quote.
They got their toes out.
yeah no it was cool um i would i don't think my family could ever come together that way because
too many people don't like too many people yeah and my mom is like well if i'm not talking i'm
not talking to you because you said in 1978 like my mom is like not like that but like my when my
my mom and dad's my dad's family don't like my mom oh really okay so when my brother was born
they were being shady to my mom and she was like well i remember yeah i remember that wow that's
And, you know, my family will never meet up because I don't want to see them niggas.
That's real.
They can meet up, but I won't see them.
Right.
You're not going to go to the reunion or nothing?
What is that?
What is a reunion?
So you don't talk to like your cousins and nothing like that?
I mean, I missed a funeral when I was in L.A.
Oh, yes.
I forgot to follow up about that.
Yeah.
I mean, I missed the funeral and I did feel bad about it, but I was like, I don't want
to be in the hole going to a funeral.
Like, I would be missing out on the things that I was doing in L.A.
and I also didn't have enough money to go to Oakland.
Yeah.
I gotta spend money to go to a funeral?
I need this money to live, baby.
That's usually how funerals work, though, sis.
You send your condolences.
Right, I understand that,
but if you don't have it, you don't have it.
Oh, yeah, no, that's true.
Yeah, but I fucked up.
I should have called and been like,
hey, I'm not coming,
but I was like, she's already dealing with so much stuff.
I didn't want to be like, hey, I'm not coming while you're doing it.
You sent a text?
You still want to do that, though,
because it means something.
Did you send flowers or anything?
You didn't send no flowers?
No.
Wow.
I had all my money tied up.
Cindy, go ahead and drop your Venmo so they can get you some money for these flowers.
For these flowers.
No, she lost her family.
It's done.
It's over.
You think so?
I feel like we were on the phone and I told you to send some flowers.
You did say that, but you didn't send me no Venmo.
Sis, I don't know who passed.
I don't know who.
I don't know them.
You barely know them, Cindy.
Well, Amina was like, sis, if you really need money, let me know.
I did.
I offered and you was not receiving
and I ain't begging nobody to take my money
you know what I'm saying you get it I ask you one time
and honestly the other time is half
it's not even a real ask cause I heard you say
no the first time
you don't hit them with the are you sure
it's like alright
wait are you really frugal
frugal like Amina
no I'm not into me though
cause you out here spending money
cause I'm not anymore
what kind of shoes you got on let me see
some dusty Chuck Taylors
that my boyfriend hates.
No, but I be seeing
your wigs and bills.
I love a dusty converse.
I keep trying to tell them.
I like when they be like
ripped a little bit.
Right there on the side
with the baby on the toe.
The flap opening up
in the front.
I used to be about that
spending money life,
but I'm no longer.
I see the bundles
that you get
and that's how I knew.
Bundles.
I knew.
You saw the bundles
that I used to get.
Well, you know,
you can reuse that hair.
You know, you just wash it.
You don't do bundles no more?
Listen,
what have you been
seeing me with?
Oh, you natural now?
Now listen,
that was my past life
I had to pull Nzinga over to the dark side
I used to go through Nzinga old clothes
to where's my new clothes
but now Nzinga's wearing her own
old clothes
I think regular people just call them
clothes
they're not called old clothes they're just called
clothes
there is a difference between outside
clothes and house clothes
now there's a difference
you have something wrong with you
You thought you were so full of stuff for the right name.
She tried to throw a however at you.
However, now she wears her old clothes.
That just means she's not handing them down to you no more.
So you got to go out and get your own new clothes.
I know y'all know the difference between new clothes and old clothes.
I don't know what you're talking about.
They're just called clothes.
Her clothes were new and now they're used to be old.
And now she's still wearing the old clothes.
They're only old if you bring them to like a thrift shop and somebody else gets them.
Secondhand.
they're old after you wash them
and it's two different colors
the blacks don't match
this is charcoal and this is
noir it was purple
and now it's pink
you're being shady
it was just all for fun and me and my sister
are the shadiest towards each other
so let's talk about that
what's the shadiest moment
she just slid in my DM's I'm like hey guys what keeps you
humble she gonna come and respond
did you gain weight
oh wow
is that one of the ones
that you posted
I said did you gain more weight
more
to be specific
yikes
she keep me humble
she be like
we remember when you
ain't had no edges
and you
well
your teeth was spread out
Sydney said well
well
are they back sis
you wanna see them
you're
you're tucking behind your ears
I mean
I threw
I couldn't see that
hair over the shoulder
we gonna recreate it
for a boomerang
yes please
they're there
I'm not gonna say
they not there
but they
Thriving?
Peezy.
I can't.
Well, that being said, Amina has shaved her head.
So, you know, it's back now.
Amina was doing top knots a couple months ago.
I said, Amina.
She put it all in a boop.
Edges are necessary.
Sisters, have you guys had a falling out before?
Absolutely.
What's the longest y'all have ever gone without speaking to each other?
Was that five weeks?
Yeah, I think a month.
to a month and a half now almost yeah what happened isn't gonna throw my money because
because you paid her to swim and she didn't we moved in together and i paid half of the deposit
she paid half i move out i'm like what my half a deposit oh i'm gonna give it to you when i move
out she move out i ain't never see the half of the deposit how long after you did she move out
it don't even matter i just realized like sis where my money and she didn't have it forgot how
long after you left to be honest who forgets to pay somebody they deposit you forget what's the
time difference is what I'm saying. Yeah. A day.
Okay? That's what it was.
I don't know. Well, then she stole your money. It was only a day.
I don't remember what it was, but I... It's so funny
because, you know, when
there's always three
stories. Okay. Three sides
to the story. Thank you so much.
What's your side? I honestly don't recall.
So, it's funny to hear that you say...
She definitely stole their money. Did somebody
say they don't recall? You remember she used it
to buy old clothes. Yeah. However...
However she passed
to you so you got your money i'm like okay no but our fallen outs are have been about money though
yeah it's been pretty intense well amina you're very specific about the way your money is handled
i don't know if it's you're the type that will on venmo ask for your five dollars that i i guess
used or something like that i don't know i owed you five dollars and you were and you requested
the five dollars like the day after i'll see nothing wrong i mean that's kind of how that
works is there more to the story that was it five dollars we're gonna be petty about five dollars
no but you say that but if every time i lend you five dollars you don't pay me back at the end of
the year it's like dude that's nine hundred dollars or whatever it might be 25 i'm all about
setting habits and relationships okay that's bullshit that being said you should have given
her the money as soon as she moved out because you were going to get the full deposit when you
as you can see
as we're sitting here now
we've moved past it
our bond is even stronger
that means Amina
got some of the old clothes
yeah
she got some
no she ended up
giving me my money
but we do be falling out
most of the time
it's money
so that's why we
I think we eliminate that
and we're good
or trips
you bitches be tripping
I do be tripping
and it's gonna be canceling
but now we just have
an understanding
of she's not coming
yeah
she got a job dude
she not a comedian
but it wasn't cause of that
I mean we just
sometimes
we're both bullheaded
we're also tourists
yeah
So the thing about it is we're very stubborn.
And it's been times where Amina's the more dominant one.
So I'm more passive.
So I'll just let...
Which times?
Well, I'm just saying in our relationship, yeah, our 32 years of living, majority of
the time, I'll just be like, okay, and let Amina win.
And then sometimes I boss up and be like, no, sis, it's not how we going.
And then like, that's how it is.
I know, but I always pull bad cards.
It gets messy.
So I pull out my guns and I'm like,
and it's over.
It can get pretty ugly.
And I think our family at this point knows.
Yeah, they don't even.
And then the crazy thing is like one second
we could just be going off
and then the next minute we skipping down the street.
So that's why you can't even talk shit.
Yeah, don't even get, don't even.
No one needs to get involved and do not pick a side.
Because if you do.
And when you pick a side,
you going to be lost in the sauce
and we gonna be
skipping down the street
and that's exactly
how me and Marie
work as well
don't you dare
pick sides
is it Marie
I just wanted to
make sure with you
the last time she said
something you didn't
necessarily agree
get y'all twin shit
together
I mean listen
I was born in the 90s
Sidney
I don't know what year
Sidney came out
but I
feel like
was not the same
decade as me
wow
I mean
I'm just gonna
I'm gonna leave that
right there on the table
for the table
shade for the table
bastard but i feel like for the most part like we were we know what we're here to do so like we're
on the same side in terms of that um but like we'll bump heads with each other about stuff but
if some other random person comes in he's like well i don't really think sitting and i'll be
like yeah you don't think what yeah right huh or you let them finish and then i'll be like sydney
oh don't you love that when somebody's talking shit and they're like you better not say anything
and you're like already texting i would never that's why i don't say none of them one of them
about i'll tell you and sing yeah but out of all of our years i literally feel like only two people
have come to me trying to talk about amina because people already know don't even try and i call her
and i laugh and i'm like yeah she said don't say nothing but that's like yeah right that's the
minute that's the second she told me yeah right after that like when when someone says don't tell
nobody they should they should also be like except amina but like you know what i mean like when
I agree.
Right.
When someone says to me, don't tell nobody, I be like, Sydney.
But as we're getting older, though, it's certain things, it's kind of like, if I'm frustrated
about it, I'll tell you.
But most of the times when someone do come to me, you know, as like confiding in me,
I respect that.
But I'm saying, like, there's actually been a time that someone came talking about Amina
and was like, please don't tell Amina.
And I'm just like, oh, okay.
Even with our family, it's like, even my mama can't call me and talk about this thing because
she don't know about that conversation.
I'm calling her right after we get off the phone
girl let me tell you about your mama
oh that's what siblings do though
I've been talking to my sister I've been like call your mom
call your mom she looking for you
your mother said this
don't tell her I told you
but my thing with my sister
is I hate when I have
news that I want to share with my mom and she
shares that news first
like she just be like well Maria just booked
and I be like come on right
and then you wanted to see your mom's face
But my mother's kind of a cartoon character about it.
She'd be pretending to be shocked, but she knows.
She'd be like, oh, wow.
And then what happened?
The show got canceled.
Wait, she told your mom?
No, I told my mom.
But she was an example.
And what did your mom say?
I didn't even get the tea on that.
After my TV show got canceled, my mom was like, you'll be fine.
Go get another job.
She's not paying none of my bills, so what does she care about?
you know she just as long as i'm happy and i'm out here not doing terrible tv shows no more
i win yes right yes yes yes it's so hot in here it is i think it's your sweatshirt yeah i don't
have a shirt on i don't have a sweatshirt you fool i was gonna say it's your deodorant
let me see them crystals shut the fuck up
it's just it's all that hot twin energy when y'all were getting ready to go to college did
you guys want to go to the same place or did y'all think uh let's split up our separate ways
we wanted to stay together oh i didn't want to go to the same college with you oh wow
talking about this no i didn't want to swim remember i went through a phase where i isn't
you were doing so well until we were in college no isn't it was prior to i applied to xavier
brown's i've applied to schools that didn't even have a swim team you said man this must have been
in your head. We're not on the same page with this.
It's not on my head. Zynga, you were doing so well in swimming
and I had plateaued and it was just like, what's the
point? But then it came.
What happened? No, sometimes
in
swimming, you peak and you just plateau
and you could go the same
few years during the same exact time
and it was just getting frustrating. And the whole
time, sis over here, just PR-ing
0.2 seconds off the
Olympic trials and I was just like, you know what?
Honestly, it might not be meant for me.
And that's when I was just like, I'm going to go to school.
school but when the coach said when my coach sat us down when my coach sat us down and told me like
this is a job this is how much money i'm gonna get go to howard and i was like okay say no more
so then we were together but before that i was just swimming was like i was getting dumb wow
you're learning something yeah you think you know somebody yeah i mean you think you know like i
said it's always three sides to a story i mean we could call your coach he he's here actually
every show we bring out somebody like in the hallway you were talking shit
speaking of your coach but it was good that we went we realized i think especially in college
we value being a twin because it was just such a safe space that we get to you when you experience
new things with someone it just brings a whole nother comfort so being on that big campus away
from home. It was nothing that we
couldn't tackle. We was on a track training
together and practice
together. Yeah, we
did good. I had to force her to come
to practice and stuff. Yeah. Speaking of experiences,
if you guys can find it in
your heart to Venmo me and Marie so
we can do experiences together,
that would be great. Yo, Sydney, you sound like
a homeless man. The way that
you ask for money on the podcast now,
you sound like, excuse me, ladies,
gentlemen. I be
joking half of the time until they sent her money no i mean when i've lost my tooth people were
sending me money and when i got when i got arrested people were sending oh my god your life
is a crime no but sydney came through when the clutch when they stole my coat yes oh let's talk
about that sister sister i came through amina had just bought a new coat uh michael kors coat that i
was like really that's what you're spending your coins on first of all it's cold in new york you
want to make a nice michael kors though well it was on sale i was at it was like macy's michael
kors okay so i mean that's the only michael kors that i feel like i know so uh you got this new
coat went to a comedy show set the coat down didn't even think performed performed came back
coat gone i still can't believe it what were you wearing underneath the coat that you left in like
a t-shirt because that's how warm the coat is so it's 20 degrees outside you put this coat on
a halter top one tube top look y'all think i'm joking i had this sheer shit you got on right now
underneath that coat and that coat was gone i was stunned i couldn't believe it it took a minute for
me to process do you think an audience member took it or a comedian you know what it was so
many coats thrown down there that i would have took my coat too i'm not even gonna hold yeah
but that means but there was no coat there though it was another coat there that i did not
want so whoever took my coat left a raggedy coat yeah but that's a new coat for you friend that's
your old clothes is somebody new exactly exactly yeah i wanted my michael kors clothes wait anyway
so that happened amina hit sydney up and said someone stole my coat and sid came through the
rescue sydney said i am going to she posted about it on facebook i posted the jacket and i posted
you without a jacket
on in the streets
and I photoshopped
a jacket back on you.
That was real love
by the way.
Real love.
I was like
And I woke up the next day
with money for two coats.
You hear that?
Amina bought two coats.
I mean you could have
bought a coat
and then like
some shoes and a bag
or something.
Well apparently
I needed them two coats
because the second coat
got stolen.
Got stolen.
You just can't stop.
Amina.
You can't stop
won't stop.
You get your shit stolen.
The way I perform now
I keep my stuff
at an eye's distance
it's so annoying
if I don't know
your first and last name
and your address
you cannot watch my stuff
I just can't do it
I know I saw you
posted a photo
the other day
your purse was on
I was dead
she circled it
and people are like
you want me home
I don't know
I only know
your Instagram name
get out my face
imagine
it's like
underscore
Mike Torres
is it Mikey Torres
Torres
is it
is there a dollar sign
instead of an S
hashtag funny James
yeah but you know what
for me I was like
man I would hope somebody would do this
for me one day
but I don't lose my coat
you did leave a bar
in someone else's coat though once
I did and you left your coat
at the bar I did
and the coat was not the same size
no it was not I don't know why
it gotta happen did you return the coat
of course that coat was dingy
mine was not
I put it on and got all the way home.
She called me.
I was crying.
I was screaming.
Sydney, I love that.
We didn't get to talk about our twin stuff that we, the crimes we committed.
What?
Okay.
We'll talk about some of the crimes.
We got a little bit of time.
Remember I took your final, isn't it?
You was texting me the answers.
Is that what you're complaining about?
Why you cut your eyes at Sydney?
Because she was quitting as if she didn't know we could.
I took a drug test for you, my dear.
Because she's a teacher.
So this is weird.
Yeah.
And I worked as you.
We should really dig up.
We can't.
Because that's the statute of limitations.
That's over.
Okay.
Come on, friend.
What's the statue?
In what state?
Exactly.
I don't even know.
We in New York now.
What time zone did you pee in that cup?
So you had a drug test and you made her pee for you?
Or she went as you?
I went as her.
No, I mean, I had to go take my drug test for me.
Because she had just smoked or something, but I did what I had to do.
Was it really smoking?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That was it.
What you thought it was?
You know, Cindy got a lot of white friends.
Yeah.
She thought it was cocaine.
We grew up as athletes, so our bodies were cherished as a tool for us.
Temples.
So, yeah, so we didn't really play.
These bodies paid for college.
Right, but you didn't have some trash dick inside.
So don't even come for me like that.
I was talking about the past.
That's the present.
But you can still get a job after having trash dick in you.
You can't get a job.
Can you?
Not if the dick is bumpy and you burn it at work.
If the dick is dirty and it hurts to pee, you got to leave work.
In which case, you know, you're going to lose those hours.
I'm not doing this for y'all.
I'll never forget.
Zynga came home one day, and she was like, I'm about to quit my job.
And I was like, no, you not.
I need a job.
So just like those old clothes became my new clothes.
My old job became her new job.
So you started working?
What was the job?
A lifeguard.
A year and a half I worked as in Zynga.
That's insane.
And she would call me and be like, oh, my God.
I saw my name.
No, yeah, somebody asked me what my name was, and I said Amina.
I'm like, you are in Zynga.
wait so how y'all gonna split the social security benefits later we were both dependents at that
time yeah you're all exempt yeah yeah you don't make a sound in my mouth sis kiss your brain
so um i bought my ticket back home for the winter break and um i ended up my final was during that
time amina still was on campus so i said sister just this was before they started you know
Taking phones and stuff
For taking all
For tests
So she had a little flip phone
And so I said
I'll just text you the answers
And she sat in there
And she took my test for me
Somebody recognized me
And I was just like
That's beautiful
Did you pass?
Yeah
She was good
Well guys I gotta go
To a show
So we gotta wrap this up
Wow the level of rudeness
You pulling out
All your beauty
Blotter
I just know that this podcast
Is about expertise
And so I just wanted
To make sure we shared
Our expertise
Yeah y'all came through
Y'all did what y'all did
I mean thank you professor
So, okay, we appreciate you.
You guys did what you needed to do.
However, I did want to get into more of the dirt that y'all did.
But, you know, it's fine.
I like that y'all are, like, you guys got each other's backs.
That's cute.
I love it.
Sisterhood, brown sisterhood, edges laid, teeth intact.
Teeth intact.
Teeth intact.
Teeth intact.
2020 vision.
Ain't got no dusty niggas on they backs.
well
we don't know
because the text message
I saw on the way here
in Amina's phone
why you gotta be a snitch
Amina

I'm like damn
it's calm down
right we was
well I'm gonna text
I'm gonna text
your sister more
I'm gonna establish
a better relationship
with her
Sydney you are
legit putting
makeup and things on
I'm just gonna
record this briefly
because you rude
yeah
guys
do you have anything
that you want to plug
anything coming up
that y'all want to talk about?
Yes, please plug.
Amina?
Oh, yes.
My birthday,
our birthday is coming up.
Well, see,
we don't know when this is going to drop.
We don't know when it's...
Honestly, we should drop...
Yeah, we should probably just...
Yeah.
Let's just do it.
Yeah, okay.
Let's just drop it.
Did y'all decide?
Yeah, we just decided.
Okay.
We're going to drop it next week.
What you got?
My sister and our birthday
are coming up May 16th,
but we're celebrating
at the Knitting Factory
May 19th.
But sister's not even
going to be there.
She might make an appearance.
Okay.
You never know.
Do you have FaceTime?
Yeah, you got to just, you got to give people just something to look forward to, even if
it might not happen.
You remember over-promise, under-deliver.
That's my motto for 2019.
No, it's under-promise, over-deliver.
I know what that is, but what I'm doing in life is over-promising and under-delivering.
Right.
Thank you.
Okay.
And my mood is also, what is it, good?
Access might not be granted.
Thank you.
Yes.
So.
But you trying to get people to come to the show, so you should be granting access.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, that's why I'm giving them this ticket link.
Oh, you got the ticket link.
You gonna verbally tell them what the link is?
It's a H-T-T-P-B-S colon slash slash Amina dash Mercee dash.
Stop, Amina.
Wait, can you tell them your Instagram again?
Yes, Amina Imani, A-M-I-N-A-H-I-M-A-N-I.
Yeah, I'm trying to get verified like my friends.
She got a long way.
not after this podcast
your followers
