Starting point is 00:00:01 Hi! Hi! Welcome to the Unofficial Expert Podcast! Hi guys! With Sydney and Marie. How you doing? I thought you were asking the listeners. No, thank you. I'm good, I'm good. How are you doing? I'm fabulous.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Why? I don't know. People want to know why. They're like, well, what the hell's going on with you, sis? Well, you know, I got a birthday coming up. And you're turning... A million! A million and five! That's what I'm turning.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Skin looks radiant. Sexiest mummy we know. I'm saying this because I'm just trying to project better energy than I've been doing before. So if I say it out loud, then I might feel it. I don't know what that means.
Starting point is 00:00:46 The bullshit. That's what it is. I'm bullshitting right now. I'm acting like I'm happy, but you know inside I'll be like, meow, meow, meow. What's the thing on Winnie the Pooh? Is it the sad one? yeah that's me is it your the well i'm not gonna say i'm a donkey so i'm coolest donkey in the jungle shout out to h&m that's me um i'm that dude listeners um can y'all send me if anybody
Starting point is 00:01:14 has like a boys large of that h&m coolest monkeys in the jungle sweatshirt and you want to send it to me please message me because i feel like i didn't even get to get out like they did it was in the stores they pulled it it was in the stores yeah h&m what the fuck who was you have a whole team a whole team but you know what i knew they would pull some shit like that because they jackets don't even have lining in it that's how you knew that's how i knew you knew they were gonna pull some uh some black blur monkey stuff because they didn't have lining in their jackets okay a lot of their pockets not even real so they're sewn on they're sewn shut i hate i loathe a sewn shut pocket i hate it it's rude it is i have things i have chapstick i have dollar bills
Starting point is 00:01:58 i have things condoms i have things you got some dental jams yo i got floss i got old floss that i use and i put in those little pockets and then i pick it up like oh a gift it sounds like you maybe don't need real pockets it's like this is a gift thank you that's disgusting i love checking my pockets in all my jackets because then i find little things like that like floss and i'm like so the other day i needed so the laundry machine in my building um like you have to get a card and then you you know what's up gentrification i want to use coins honestly i do miss coins but they'd only takes five tens twenties yes and i don't like putting $20 bills in there because i'll be needing them so i always try to put like five dollars in at a time the other day i was
Starting point is 00:02:41 looking for money checked all of my coat pockets all of my pants pockets couldn't find any five dollar bill found a bunch of 20s and edibles like random edible candies from who even knows how long ago i know but you're being sober this month so like that's probably why they're piling up i mean i'm smoking weed still i'm just not drinking okay for the month of january but i feel like you knew that i didn't know you did know that i was still smoking sober no because the other day i was like i have cramps i'm gonna go smoke weed you're a fraud listen uh i spent the other day yesterday dreaming just fiending for some wine i was like damn you're like this goes through every day is it every day every day glass of wine i had some pasta i was like you know what pairs well
Starting point is 00:03:28 with pasta something red with alcohol in it which yeah i'll be like i just need one glass under the glass turn it to a gallon and then i'm underneath a bridge like suck it yeah that because listeners in case y'all don't know that's the only thing that happens under a bridge is people suck dick yeah so i've learned that the hard way if you look up one day and your uber driver took a wrong turn and you're under a bridge you have to suck that dick and then you still gotta pay because it charges your card automatically just in case you thought you're gonna get that driver to venmo you the rest of your money back and then give him three stars okay so anyway you had what was i saying uh i don't know i forgot too honestly that was fast
Starting point is 00:04:10 You talk too fast Oh you're in the laundromat Oh no I just kept finding I was done with that story I just kept finding drugs and $20 bills And not the $5 Well speaking of $5 I am an expert in
Starting point is 00:04:26 Losing money That's what you did this week is lose a lot of money Can I tell you what happened Of course you can On a show with a friend I was like hey let's go to the diner To get what Waffles
Starting point is 00:04:39 so we didn't go to the waffle place oh you went to our spot no no no no i went to another spot but who were you with i was with calvin cato yes our walk of shame expert yes got it well he doesn't want me telling the story because then he's gonna people don't think i have money so please tell me the story calvin's car got declined yes he couldn't calvin baby you couldn't buy them waffles we're there i'm we're sitting down we kiki laughing i'm also complaining about how i don't have any money the whole time yes yes yes because you got to put the seat into the front of like hey when this check come it's on you you got this you got us boo-boo and then you gotta look real sad like oh i just i'm gonna have a swipe when i get out of here you know things like that and then
Starting point is 00:05:23 the the check came and i had a ten dollar bill because i got paid for the show what was the balance oh they gave you 30 whole american dollars i was like ow wow that's partial wig right there so one one clearance one yes one on sale so then he's like you know what i got it i said wait what calvin and i was like calvin is poor like us so i was like calvin is real poor like i was like no no no no dude here he's i was like no it's fine he's like no no you know what i have friends that pay for me all the time i'm paying you actually kind of sound like calvin when you're talking right now no no yeah i'm paying it forward and i was like oh who who you fucking who paying for everything what happened tell the truth he's like no my friends take me out i was like what
Starting point is 00:06:03 My friend Calvin got this thing in his mouth. Who knew you were sucking? Anyway, so. What bridge are you sitting under? No, he's like, really? His friends go out and he doesn't have to pay. And I was like, that is true. That's how I think sometimes, too.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Not really. But anyway, he pays. And I put the $10 back in my pocket. Leave. I get out of the train when I'm almost home. And I see something fly out of my pocket. And I said, oh, that looks like a receipt. Well, I'm not going to be getting it.
Starting point is 00:06:28 And it's going across the street. And I'm looking. And I'm like, but I didn't buy anything that I would have a receipt with. What happened? So it's rolling. And I said, well, it's gone. And then I was like, fuck, maybe I need that receipt. I said, fuck it.
Starting point is 00:06:41 It's too windy. It's too cold. I ain't got no hat on. Listen, my heart is racing. This is like. Yes, I get to the house. The climax of the show. I get to the house.
Starting point is 00:06:50 I pull everything out of my coat. I got the $20 bill. But where the fuck is the $10? That wasn't a receipt, bitch. It was the $10. so he paid it forward but carmen was like nah you gonna pay that 10 wait the 10 fell out of your pocket and blew across the street and you thought it was a receipt i thought it was you see this is this is why i can't stand new poor people because i see money from like and i don't even
Starting point is 00:07:17 have eyes that are that great i see money from blocks miles away and i'd be like oh that's a that's a 20 bill and i go pick it up sis i swear to you it looked like a risk and it was probably blown away like in slow motion oh it was but there was traffic coming dancing in front of you it was like it was it was it was like american beauty it was american beauty with like the the black plastic bag swirling it was still around your face and you're like i don't even know what that is i only recognize things 20s or higher okay so i'm in the house and i tell agent i was like oh my god the thing that flew across the thing out of my pocket was ten dollars i was like i'm gonna go back out and she's like if you go back out you better stay stay there because you're gonna go
Starting point is 00:07:56 back for 10 i said yeah see spoken like a woman with a with a job i know spoken like a woman with a real 401k you're going outside for 10 i said i'm gonna go back and she's like no i can't believe you didn't step on it to like get it to stop dude in your face look it flew out of my pocket like it wasn't even mine like it flew out so fast that i was like that couldn't be mine i didn't even think it was mine what were you reaching for your pocket in the first place i was putting my hand in my pocket because i was cold but then i was like oh i need my phone so i pulled it out you're an idiot you're an idiot how much more money have you lost because you're trying to tweet and text that was the first time i lost i don't believe you and you know calvin paid for the food but i paid
Starting point is 00:08:35 in real life i paid the universe speaking of paying for food uh so i you know my hostentennial is in like a is off to a slow start but i've been going on dates with people and not paying for none of my food so uh the other day i went on a date with this guy that looked like um i'm calling him baby richard gear even though he was a cool 50 uh and then the other day i went to brunch with this scottish dude okay one sunday like two blocks away from my two stops away from my house and the check came and i was like he put his card down and i was like well let me pretend to reach for my wallet i was like uh you got this he was like it's fine i was like are you sure like just like i didn't even say are you sure like i didn't even try to put my acting
Starting point is 00:09:21 ability behind it i just was like are you sure and he was like oh yeah no i mean yeah if you want to put your card down but he was like kidding and i was dead ass like i didn't even bring my wallet so and you never do and you don't even pat your your breasts like oh maybe the money's in here nothing i don't i don't have breast pockets nope but i was an expert this week at uh setting up these dates and not paying for nothing honestly i feel like you know i've been paying for my own food for a long time you know actually you know let me let me take a step back because it's not really true uh but i just you know i'm trying to be more open uh i went on a date with yes it was two white dudes but uh i was wait i was waiting for you to say that because i was about to stop
Starting point is 00:10:02 you but like sis on your vision board brown skin yes yes yes but the food but the food can be paid for anybody of any color listen honestly i think i'm gonna go out with one person from every race okay you better baskin robbins you got a 31 flavor zippage cold stone i almost swiped for this asian dude and then i scrolled down i saw he was five eight and i was like nah what's wrong with five eight i don't know sis but i feel you gotta be a cool five nine anyways five eight like me in like a chunky sneaker is five eight listen if somebody paying for lobster they could be five five at brown house i'm gonna get on these damn things so i could get some food too well on sunday i'm going out with a black man we're gonna he was like i told him that i'm not drinking this month
Starting point is 00:10:47 and he was like cool cool uh he was like well we don't have to go like i'm not gonna have you drink tea at a bar he was like let's get food and i was like cool you should say that for the rest of the year hey i don't drink so and i feel like drinking tea at a bar is so dumb so dumb also i don't want to do a mocktail i can't ask for a fake drink to a real bartender that's terrible if it's a day shift hey you got time so but in the daytime that's different at nighttime people are like let me get on people doing jaeger bombs and you asking for a peppermint tea do y'all have a green tea yeah man you're charging 20 you're like oh this is straight from england for the tea bag yeah and the water is like artisanal or whatever okay speaking of artisanal
Starting point is 00:11:26 I was shocked when I heard you say that. Speaking of artisanal, our guest today is the fanciest person probably that we've ever had here who claims to be poor. Okay, who's, wait, if she was a cheese, what cheese would she be? Like a Gruyere or something. Ooh, Gruyere, because she's like down to earth, but you're like, no, you come from somewhere real nice. What's the cheese that you got to cut like the rind off? A brie? She's brie.
Starting point is 00:11:48 She's brie. She is our, she's a comedian. She performs all over the place. She's a writer. She's a writer. she be shooting videos and paying people i've been to her house and it's beautiful she got uh like like two couches yeah oh she got armchairs they're real couches they're not from ikea she got like a crate and barrel she got a crate and barrel couch well they're ikea with um you know
Starting point is 00:12:08 with distinction yes she's a comic you're gonna love her she's our unemployed expert it's anna royce man hi hi wait do you have uh couch covers yeah it's this couch get the fuck out of here you said you got a real couch you sit on the same couch i know i'm like it's this gray ikea couch well my black ass is not on your couch so that's why it looks a lot wealthier you know what i'm gonna do i'm gonna take the covers off and then i'm gonna wash it and the cash gonna look brand new guys i used to be wealthy and then i lost my job what did you used to do um my day job was i worked for a venture capital firm oh that's money and as an executive assistant and like office manager sound like y'all were embezzling a lot of shit yeah yeah yeah yeah these guys like invested
Starting point is 00:12:57 in like buzzfeed and like paperless posts like all these big tech companies that have like made it over the years so how do i get some people some venture capitalists to invest in our patreon i know i need the same thing i don't know maybe we should just go door to door and like really fly out no sis we're not trying to turn up missing that's not happening they're not people like us we get other people to go out for us we don't i know you ain't got no job you can go after us yeah oh my god i need to raise money for my own patreon venture capitalists like so yeah how do we like how do they find people to invest in let's get down to yeah how did you get into that so i i worked in restaurants and bars forever right that's why
Starting point is 00:13:37 we're friends that's why yeah that's what i did and that was like all i did and i wanted to get out because it was like wasn't it hard to like do stand-up shows at night and you have to take off a shift and then you'd make less money no but service industry stuff is miserable too like people disrespect you i wanted to like make money in the day so i have my night but when you get 800 you're like well fuck comedy fuck comedy fuck it who cares i don't even like laughter i chased my dream i gave up the money um no i wanted to work in the day and like my friend from college who lives in la was like i know this girl who's like leaving her job i don't know she's like an office manager but like she says it's really cool and like it's they have a lot of
Starting point is 00:14:20 money and like and i was like all right well do i need like experience no because it's your friends from college that's why you gotta remain friends with these college hoes all my college ho friends all have kids now and they're married they're terrible nah you gotta have that one that was like always a nerd that you're like oh she gonna be somebody i wasn't friends with anybody like that in college no you gotta be friends you gotta be the one who's like writing other people's papers and shit that's the one that's gonna hit you up i didn't have any asian friends in college damn okay anna continue sorry anyway i went in no i was like i worked in restaurants that they like eat at you know what i mean that the vengeance yeah they're like oh you craft you
Starting point is 00:14:58 knew you can get us a reservation here oh and they love that because that's a trade-off right there that was it and they were like and you have a dog like we've always wanted an office dog and i was like oh this sounds like a real white place to work this is so i don't know if we could make it marie i don't know if they'll take our resume i don't know sydney you would get that they'd be like you got cats actually we're allergic at you bye so i like i had to do nine interviews to get this i was like to get the job of ordering paper towels for you and like making meetings like lunch meetings um i don't know it was just now who did you so nine meetings who did you meet with you met with like hr like literally everybody in the building there's only like 20 people who work at
Starting point is 00:15:37 the company so so you met with everybody everybody i hate that like multi-level interview process yeah well because they want to make sure everybody's comfortable since it's a small office they want to make sure everybody's ordering the tissue that you wipe your ass with you should just be comfortable that i can buy two ply yeah but it's like a family no environment please like everybody knows each other and hangs out after i like went in being like listen i also i'm an actor i audition i have a life i was like i do other things and they were like and they're like Yeah, yeah, yeah. What kind of dog do you have?
Starting point is 00:16:06 They're like, shut up. They were like, you accessorize well. We like you. It was like men, mainly? Yeah. Dudes? Mostly dudes. There were like a couple other female assistants and like one female on the staff, but like
Starting point is 00:16:19 she left after like a couple of years. And then your stylist, like you didn't come in there with your titties out or anything like that. You had a low cut under like a structured blazer. Yeah. Like they hired you for you, not for that ass. Yeah. And they were very like nice to me.
Starting point is 00:16:34 one of the guys had a son who was an actor and i was always jealous because he was like i get it i get that world like my eight-year-old son is on broadway how to make you feel so low i was like oh okay like yeah he's doing he's just booking commercials and he's on broadway and like you know and he goes to school and the other day isn't it how old were these guys they're all like like in the 30s no yeah like 40s i want to say there was one who i loved who was 87 he was my guy oh that's the one you asked for everything that's that's who we need to invest he's about to die so he's just giving away like heirlooms emailed him my patreon like requests like multiple times and he has not oh damn man because he's waiting for you except he's linkedin that's why
Starting point is 00:17:15 i'm hounding him girl he's like what the hell is page he was like i don't even drink patron yeah he was like uh also accepting on linkedin he was the best he was the one he only one who showed up in a suit every day i'm increasing my uh my uh preferences on hinge to be uh 40 years old to 80 40 to 80 right because those are people with money right now it's at like 30 to 45 yeah they'll take you to budokan there you go yeah but you know what marie will stunt and come in with a face like that and a shirt like that and she's like yeah of course i had a lobster you're like you're not gonna get dressed she'll come there in a sneaker like listen look i'm legit i'm yellow yeah i think i'm kidding but i'm legit changing the age she is she's doing it is 58 too
Starting point is 00:18:00 much no try like 82 they just want to take a girl out i'm putting 60 i'm putting i'm putting 30 to 60 no she's gonna end up taking him out taking him out in a body bag you'll meet someone's dad is what you're gonna honestly i'm just trying to get my aunt and nicole smith on so because 24 year olds keep popping up on my thing and i'm like what are you what is this yeah no listen i'm telling you i i did that like older dude thing and it it seems like it's fun but it's not i don't think it seems fun i just want somebody old who like doesn't have the energy to like go out and is like you listen here's a couple bucks go out with your friends have a good that's what you think but these these old men they got mentality on yeah we didn't have rashida on we have the
Starting point is 00:18:42 they have the mentality of like on a younger dude and they're like nah i'm gonna run this we gonna run i'm gonna run through this they're like let me just pop bc alice and we go yeah man what i'm telling you when that dude when he showed me his dick i was how old was this old man that showed you his dick 65 okay i'm gonna increase mine to 65 then 65 ish actually you know what the i'm going all the 65 65 is the top oh my god yeah and his but like we went to lunch wow over 65 you can't date it says 65 plus but there's
Starting point is 00:19:14 it doesn't have numbers after the plus sign but when you when you go to like you gotta go to a very dark place with these
Starting point is 00:19:20 65 year old like you don't want to see nobody's face at 65 like a man an old white man girl
Starting point is 00:19:26 I know candles melting in the daytime that's what it looks like meanwhile he looks like a candlestick
Starting point is 00:19:33 shout out to all my 65 year old white guys listening to the shout out to y'all what's your demographic
Starting point is 00:19:39 but we have a lot of everybody we got a lot of little gilberts listening a lot of roys so you got so you got this job they hired you after nine rounds of interviews yeah do you remember what you're making an hour it wasn't hourly it was the first time i ever had a salary oh which was dope okay okay so how much and i also all the employees if they sold a company we all had a percentage of the money that came out wow which i did not know when i got high like they like mentioned it and i was like okay so they're kind of like pooling they're kind of that changed over time it's so funny it happened the first two years like i walked into work one day i started i started hysterically crying my boss was like uh hey we sold whatever company um
Starting point is 00:20:25 here's here's eight thousand dollars and i was like i was like i was like oh my god i was like no one's ever handed me eight they gave you like in a check like on a wednesday morning in a check he just came up to my desk i hugged him i was like is this appropriate i don't know like i don't know someone gives me eight thousand dollars i might take them under a bridge i know anna but wait what were you making for the year i was making 65 okay like a random eight thousand dollars and then we had our christmas bonus which was what which over time ended up being 10 grand how long did you wait wait wait for one bonus 10 for christmas yeah let me jump on indeed see if they're looking for i'm getting on a hand bitch and get i gotta tell
Starting point is 00:21:10 you about the culture thing oh my god can so i like venture yeah i was like and my parents would be like you don't know how lucky you are right now and i would still very lucky you know how like no matter what job you do i was very lucky like i really enjoyed it i think over time it kind of became like people weren't happy and things changed and it was this is not before the economy failed or whatever the first time no this was like recently yeah i just lost my job a year ago anna and you got that fresh like i just got laid off face like you don't even look like you've been through it well i had a severance package of course she did which is why i'm the unemployed expert because now it's like i don't know how to get a job like i was spoiled by this
Starting point is 00:21:56 so they paid me my salary i lost my job so they paid you 65 that was your severance your salary so my salad my severance was just my paycheck every week for how long and for six months that's beautiful but did you also get a little commission bonus check no no no no no not asking for a friend none of that no christmas nothing like that so they laid you off are they looking here's somebody else well no but here's the thing they let me say they opened trust me i want to go back every day i'm like i'm like it looks like y'all need some color in this office they're like they're like no no we got these plants we got these yellow daffodils in here we're all set oh my god so like they opened this satellite office okay like in flat iron like because they're up in like 59th
Starting point is 00:22:42 and lex and they opened the satellite office and it was like no one had a permanent office there and there was a girl who ran that for the first year and then she left and i was kind of like hey could i go manage the downtown office because i was auditioning more and i could tell they were like oh wow you leave a lot now for you know i'd be like oh man more therapy i'm just so sad you know that was like my excuse oh so you were like dipping out early and that's when they started to shift and so then they were like yeah we think it's good for you to go to the downtown office right because i could like because they're trying to kick you out i don't know i could hide out hide and i was good at event planning like they knew i knew how to get like good food and drinks and
Starting point is 00:23:19 stuff for like their events and that was the event space right so like i go downtown finally they're like we never used this place they didn't it was like pretty dope i got to like i don't know how long were you down there at the downtown a year oh getting paid for doing nothing cool cool cool nobody was there supervising they had like a board meeting there a week that's great so you you just had to work you had to look like you were working once i really go yeah anna you need to appreciate this i do i miss it wait so then they got rid of the office they were like we don't need to spend 14 grand a month on rent at this place they just got rid of the office they just burned the whole building they walked in yeah well they walked in are you ready
Starting point is 00:23:54 for this i think i told you this when you were on my show they walked in on election day remember that yeah remember election day that dark ass gloomy as day that dark day i'm sitting there and my boss walks in with like this other woman who worked like the hr stuff like as a witness and they bring me in the other room and they're like listen we're getting rid of this office um we'll take care of you we'll give you you know a good severance package and like whatever recommendations you need like we you know you're like family to us but like we don't need this office anymore my job uptown was already hired like a year before yeah yeah so i was just sitting there like hillary and me are losing our jobs today like i just i didn't know what to do i just
Starting point is 00:24:38 cried all day and night i didn't even watch the election i like just i mean you didn't watch the election you already know what happened so yeah so that was how it happened and so they i worked until they were like well you you can work until december 4th because you planned the holiday party on the third i was like that's gonna be great keep me around to like show face on the holiday party because i planned it election day is what november 8th november 11th november 9th so they so you they fire you they fired me and then they're like you get to stay because you planned the party for christmas right did you get the christmas bonus or not yes that was my first question okay that was first question he's like do you have any questions and i was like yeah
Starting point is 00:25:19 given the timing of this uh will i get my christmas so you got the severance you got the 10 grand yeah girl you cash me outside what are you talking about um so i was paid until may and then i had fucking amazing unemployment so you just recently have no money i mean i'm new poor no no you still got money she's she's no she's nouveau poor uh-uh anna she like gucci house shoes and like nice facials and she got an expensive i don't though you got the gucci that's the thing i don't i don't do any of that is that true you just look like it i can fake it i'm the unemployed expert people think i have money and like and i've been doing lately to like make cash is just like what you've been doing yes yeah talk to us oh my god but i've
Starting point is 00:26:05 been to your apartment so explain your williamsburg apartment well i moved there before i lost my job okay but you still got to pay you're still paying your rent i am still paying my rent okay so so i put away the money from my christmas bonus like i've put some i put some in my smart you heard that sydney she saved i tried to save now and then i opened a second credit card to live off girl what's the limit on there 20 grand that's the american way right there uh i have two credit cards right now that i am just living off of and i really will pay them off someday they're bad it's bad you seem like a because i use the money i have saved for my rent you seem like a white woman of uh of like a particular like you seem like you got you come
Starting point is 00:26:50 from money though you don't seem like you didn't have money before um you had some money i i grew up okay yeah but was okay we weren't like okay here's the thing i grew up in a really rich how do i explain her okay is not our okay her okay is our fantastic i said girl we lived in a one bedroom apartment seven people oh my god not don't say we i had my own bed it's like not me long island don't even listen to this bitch i just met sydney uh the other day uh we had our own bedrooms i mean me and my sister shared because we were poor anyway go ahead go ahead Anyway, we lived in, like, my mom is from Long Island, and she's from, like, the jappy, like, you know, gross Long Island.
Starting point is 00:27:31 Which is basically all of Long Island. She went to school in Philly, met my dad, and stayed in Philly because she didn't want to, like, go back to Philly. Wow, that's love. To move to Philly? Philadelphia? For some cheesesteaks? So that's where I'm from.
Starting point is 00:27:42 Oh. And I'd say we lived in a very expensive, fancy suburb of Philadelphia. Like, the Long Island of Philadelphia. Was there a gate? was it a community like a community no on a cul-de-sac but i'm saying so we lived in this whole area so all of our friends in school i went to public school all of our friends had like these giant big houses we had a very normal sized house like it was you know they were all close to each other like but it was also land and stuff you know it was also a house
Starting point is 00:28:12 it was a house i'm sorry yes it was a house didn't have a porch or no it did not have a porch I was like, oh, wow. Sounds like you guys were quite poor. I guess we had a backyard. I don't know. So you had one step? You had a dick. No.
Starting point is 00:28:24 She had the one step that brought you to the door, and that's it? It was like, if you saw it, you'd be like, oh, that's a nice house. Okay. But it wasn't any, you know, like, but everyone around us, like, had huge houses, you know? And it was kind of funny that we were in this area. So you had the small house in the big house neighborhood. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:41 Yeah. You still were in the neighborhood, though. And my parents were always, you know, my parents always like wanted us to like work and make our own money. They weren't just like throwing cash at anything. Like, you know, my people are like, oh, my parents would let us live there after college. I'm like, my mom would be like, get the fuck out. They've sold the house and got an apartment because they were like, we don't want kids
Starting point is 00:28:58 to come home. You're an adult. What's your mom's name? Lee. I love Lee. I love Lee. I love, we love Lee. Lee is great.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Lee. Yeah, Lee is, uh, Lee is the very, the funniest. My mom is crazy. I feel like I've seen pictures of your mom on your Instagram. She looks great. Yeah. she thinks she's 25 she looks good
Starting point is 00:29:14 oh I can tell she's got a cool mom very youthful she's a very cool my parents were cool parents she looks good your mom is like ideal candidate
Starting point is 00:29:21 for like Real Housewives of Philadelphia yeah like I would go out shopping with her she would take you shopping and go to dinner I would do drinks with Lee yeah definitely
Starting point is 00:29:29 we should she comes in a lot I would get mocktails with her she likes to come to comedy shows she's gonna come in she's coming in a bunch okay we'll go out
Starting point is 00:29:38 we'll do a little luncheon Lee's very cool Lee was getting ready for the Golden Globes the other week at 3 p.m and she calls me she's like i'm getting ready for the golden globes i'm like what are you going she's like and i'm wearing black it's like oh okay going to the globe no she just was having a friend over to watch hilariously she's like i'm like what do you mean you're getting ready
Starting point is 00:29:57 she's like drying my hair and i'm wearing black time's up i was like all right mom time's up she had a pin on and everything she wanted to do from amazon if i go to her house she probably makes those little sandwiches oh she'd make she'd make you and a whole she'll cut the crust off and Though Avocado won't have. What is, who's Lee's favorite actor or entertainer? Do you know? I don't know. Is she like a Meryl Streep or a Glenn Close?
Starting point is 00:30:22 Who is Lee's favorite entertainer? Like, what kind of movies is Lee like? I literally don't know. My parents, what did they love this year? They loved, they loved, what's his face? They loved Gary Oldman in, what is he in? Oh, I didn't even see. He's going to win the Oscar, apparently.
Starting point is 00:30:38 What movie was he in? i just know him as commissioner gordon from batman he's playing winston churchill i forgot the name of the movie right now oh i don't remember but we need another winston churchill movie didn't we just have one we really don't i don't know winston churchill was the english dude or the american dude let me see how you uh spin this we should not i don't like history english dude from world war i cheated in history i don't know i don't know this stuff i don't know why they remake these movies but anyway um anyway so i'm poor okay so wait so what are these little odds and ends that you're doing to survive.
Starting point is 00:31:11 Tell our poor listeners. I'm auditioning a lot, which is great. And luckily, knock on wood, I've done a couple gigs that have helped me pay my rent over the summer. Are you booking things like that regularly? Fucking voiceover. Voiceover stuff has saved me
Starting point is 00:31:27 for the last few months. You're doing it in this voice or you have a character that you do? Like this voice. What? Sydney, listen to how good my voice looks. It's like a crapshoot, though. I did one spot. i worked for 45 minutes i made my rent in a month and i for a month and i was like you're willing i was like i was like i need to do these every fucking day so what's your voiceover artists are
Starting point is 00:31:49 making so much money is your rent 1200 no it's williamsburg it's a cool 17 well i split it with my boyfriend oh he don't pay for the whole thing he was unemployed last week too last week he got a job he got a job wait did i meet your boyfriend i don't know i don't think so he lost his job because his boss came out as a sexual harasser oh fuck yeah for weinstein or he worked for morgan spurlock i don't know who that is he's a documentary i don't know he makes documentary films remember like supersize me that was his big one oh morgan spurlock sounds like he touches somebody. Spurlock sounds like he'd be jibbing all over people's foreheads. He started
Starting point is 00:32:35 tweeting it when they were all at their holiday party saying, I have maybe raped a woman in college. I have never been faithful to a wife or a girlfriend. Morgan Valentine Spurlock. But see, that was him being honest, but he should have just waited for the allegations to come. Don't come out for it. I feel like it sounds worse.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Yeah, they think they're doing good by coming clean. Yeah, he says he's part of the problem. What? Ew. He snitched on himself. But I'm part of the solution. But wait, he was at a party? No, he was just tweeting this while my boyfriend
Starting point is 00:33:07 and the whole company was out at their holiday party. Yeah, but he wasn't there. So no one accused him of anything. He just pulled this out of his butt and started tweeting this. Unless someone we don't know about was blackmailing him. Do you know how many Sazeracs in he had to be to tweet that? You know how waystick he was? Sazeracs?
Starting point is 00:33:23 He was like, I'm going to be a part of the problem, but the solution. Like, who says that? was throwing back old-fashioned uh he was drinking martinis dirty and he was like you know what i'm also i'm part of the problem he was on that chopin life he's like i'm gonna do something about it you're like what okay so you did voiceover work what else you've been doing um where are you getting these voiceover gigs from because you know i want to pay my rent in a month oh my god it doesn't happen ever again though i feel like you get one and you're like whoa hell yeah i've
Starting point is 00:33:53 made it and then you're like i only i only need one since we got a gig last year and we're like okay we're doing this at the top of the year that mean we're about to get two more gigs and then that was the only thing we did we had one gig made all of the money for the year and then that happened to me and we hashtag like uh yeah we're still willing to work hashtag we'll work yeah we'll work for more money yeah um i did this so i did this this is sad i did this like how do you um i want a hidden camera prank show oh you did the girl for like mtv or something for no for like a facebook watch show which ended up getting 40 million views like insane amount of views i got paid nothing of course that's how it works um actually i got paid 200 here's the best
Starting point is 00:34:42 it was filmed at a funeral home in harlem um oh wait is it is it bay or that was so fucking good okay sydney don't be interrupting what you're trying to explain to your dad he didn't see it you liked it it was good it was oh my god so they didn't like tell us what it was so we go here's the best part so it was in a funeral home right and the they don't have money to make these things that's why they're paying me 200 to fucking work for hours and hours and hours right and uh we're in this funeral home and they only reserved the actual like room that like they have funerals in so the office downstairs was like still fully functioning right so i'm downstairs with my friend and we're getting put up microphones on and we're like we're so cool we're like doing this
Starting point is 00:35:26 like cool shoot and dead bodies everywhere dead body who comes it like they have the coffin with like a cloth over it and it like they roll it in and then there's a family like sitting there and they're like planning the funeral with the funeral director and john and i are just like standing there we're like oh my god so wait wait wait wait wait hold on hold on there's a body i have instagrams of like me standing next to a real coffin with a dead wait but what was the hidden camera show it was bay or i'm not supposed to talk about it it was like this show where i had to um the boyfriend or girlfriend of like like one of the couple people had to uh was getting like shocked or surprised and if they run or stay do you know what i mean so like this like the dead
Starting point is 00:36:10 body will a dead body out of nowhere and touch them and then either the boyfriend or girlfriend is supposed to save you like probably fight the dead person or run away or run away and bail so you just watched people get dumped basically on hidden camera show yes or were you one of the dead bodies no we i was one of the couples oh anyway it was uh so yeah it was really good it was really fucking good i can't believe that there was there was real things going on in there like conducting business i mean i mean the dead dead don't take a break i know funeral homes are like we gots to work people don't take a break they're like we're upselling i mean people are still dying so you kind of have to yeah so probably while you guys were there putting
Starting point is 00:36:56 makeup on they're like so if you guys are looking for some plots yeah and some coffins not even they were like actually that's the body this is the makeup that we use for uh miss wilkerson when she died you think that fenty beauty hit me with the highlight please oh my god please please and thank you i was a model this week that was another job i did okay okay doesn't that sound like a brag um they like they were like my friend has this advertising company he's like we need someone anna you know fucking everybody so you being unemployed is fine because you know you have a good network i've i'm very in debt you're in debt but you can call on this person and now hey what's going on over there what's going on over here what's up what's up i don't know what city i feel
Starting point is 00:37:43 like you what no because her friend from college her friend from college hooked her up with a job with a job and then that was a while ago yeah okay and now you said your friend well yeah he was like we need a person to model and they didn't tell me like they were like the job was they were like it's for a skincare company okay i'm in i was like all right cool so i show up and they like give me like an outfit you know they were like watch the tags because we got to return this but like here's an outfit to wear okay how was the outfit great i'm not wearing my own clothing i'm a real model yes uh-huh then they were like so basically the campaign is like things that beauty bloggers are doing now at home like natural skin stuff um like you beating up some avocado and then
Starting point is 00:38:27 putting it inside your nose this one they were like so apparently all the rage right now is placenta oh we're gonna have you model placenta on your face someone's placenta oh fuck out of here anna and they show me a picture and i was like do you i'm sorry do you have this bloody placenta like i was like you know can we like put my hair up or so i was free i was like a little freaked out how much money dude 100 bucks anna oh that's a l that's a l anna that's not worth it first of all when i think of listen i think it's clear it's bloody i thought it was clear no no it's like a horse placenta so anyway they were going around chinatown trying to find placenta i'm sure they found it within seconds couldn't find it couldn't find it because um
Starting point is 00:39:15 they wanted cow they wanted a cow it's so funny because i think one of the butchers was like wow if you came on a monday you know because all the cows give birth over the weekend we get the meat i was like oh my god wait they deliver the placenta so they got a stomach lining of a cow oh my fucking i'm so you just put stomach lining so they put like a bag on my face but here i am walking in thinking like this is such a good gig maybe they're gonna love me maybe i'm gonna model every week for this company you know this is gonna be fucking awesome and then they like sit me in a chair put my face back put a plastic bag over me and start putting this placenta this like stomach lining of a cow on top of my face i'm sorry hold on hold on hold on they knew that
Starting point is 00:39:57 they wanted you to put placenta on your face they didn't book the they didn't order the placenta fresh no like in a freezer box no but it's not fresh you got to get it the day of also you know how they like fake you gotta get it hot out they could get hot out the room hot out of the room they couldn't get the placenta the day before you're such a good sport i'm like i didn't know i was doing this do i have another option i'm looking up for a hundred dollars anna you're that's too much you're better than that like your sheets on your you didn't go get your receipt that was ten dollars you look at your receipt it was ten dollars no you didn't go and get your ten dollars yeah that's true you were about to run back outside
Starting point is 00:40:34 for ten dollars so don't even someone said to you right now hey we need you to model hundred bucks it'll be a couple hours of your time oh my god i just saw a picture of lucinda no but i always ask like what am i modeling well i always ask these questions hey they said what is the like veiny i'm thinking face mask right i'm gonna look so cute my skin is sensitive so what kind of skin care i break out easily so what's up and i need i need my face um for gigs that i'm not getting so what what's the skin care about why would i ask you looking at you know what i need to shut my phone down i've been doing weird jobs i've been selling a lot of shit oh what you sell are you selling ass i'm selling no she's got a man girl but wait she also has bills i also talked
Starting point is 00:41:16 to my girlfriend about this i was like would you mind if i like escorted a little bit what she said she was like for what like what are you going to be doing i was like escorting and she's like well i mean how much money do you need i was like all of it i need all of the money yo how much money do you she's looking at you like a wounded my dad always tells me he's like can't you like dance somewhere and i'm like your dad at the end of the conversation has been great marie at the end of the conversation she kind of looked at me like well who's gonna pay you who's gonna pay you to escort oh my god she's asking real questions you don't think how much money do you need how much you're trying to get like what's the top when would you quit escorting
Starting point is 00:42:01 when would you hang up your escort pantyhose 50 grand uh well you might have to do it for a little while i want 50 grand how long you think don't you think the three of us could just come up with 50 grand all right well let's think of something i mean if we go to dubai yeah but we might they Just have somebody put their rectum on your eyeball. Yeah. No, then you get pink eye, dude. Hey, pink eye for 50 grand, I'm down. No, you got to sell that face.
Starting point is 00:42:23 You can't walk in with pink eye. I'll take 50. Listen, pink eye. I probably have pink eye from that placenta. Dude, I can't believe you wiped placenta on your face. I was like, can I see the photos? Just, you know, to have as a memory. They were like, nah.
Starting point is 00:42:37 They were like, maybe. You don't want to see these photos. Pink eye clears up to one to two weeks. I can have a pink eye for one to two weeks. you say that like you get it all yeah no i'm just saying it's a conjunctivitis for 50 grand marie you wouldn't get pink eye i had to go to the doctor to get rid of it how much is that gonna cost oh that's nothing girl you go to what is it urgent care urgent care can't do shit yeah urgent care they give you a little drops you're good that's one thing i miss i miss
Starting point is 00:43:07 insurance yeah you and you i feel like you had good insurance such good insurance well what's the besides the placenta i have medicaid now is that me too is there anything that which is great honestly honestly i don't know if it is because i'd be calling places and they'd be like we don't take that and i'm like well my one doctor my like primary care doctor if you need someone she takes it because i emailed her and i was like listen if i get this can i still come and see you and she was like yes and i'm so sorry for your circumstances yeah but i feel like i feel like when a white person say they own medicaid they're like what happened if a black person says they're on medicaid they're like well of course you aren't absolutely for our foreign listeners medicaid is
Starting point is 00:43:45 the insurance that poor people have but i also feel like the the white medicaid is different from the black medicaid no it is i think so too i haven't gone to a doctor since i got because i'm just kind of like well when but when we're done with this give me your doctor's information because like dr judy tongue she's good oh she's asian judy tongue she's asian she's kind of like like she's not like sweet you know what i mean she'll be like you have strep throat and like you know oh i like that you're like why don't i like her don't work it up just say it out i don't need you to have good bedside manner just tell me what i got and give me the cream or whatever okay so you did the placenta you did the what is there anything
Starting point is 00:44:23 you wouldn't do for money right now absolutely would not do yeah right now i don't know i'm pretty i mean i miss money cow stomach on your face so i mean i feel like you're down for anything I feel like you'll try a little semen, like a semen facial. Fix your baby hairs, yeah. A semen gel? Sure. That's like Cameron Diaz in that movie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Something about Mary? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, anybody out there have any semen companies and they need me to try it? I've actually never seen something about Mary. She just put jizz in her hair to hold it up? Where was the jizz? She thought it was. She thought it was hair.
Starting point is 00:44:55 It was hair. But what kind of container was it in that she thought it was gel? It was on him. It was like on his shoulder or something. She was like, wait, you got a little gel. and then she put it on her hair. You just spoiled the movie
Starting point is 00:45:07 for all you listeners. All the millennials, nobody cares about Cameron Diaz. What is Cameron Diaz doing in 2018? Does anybody know? Nobody cares about
Starting point is 00:45:15 Ben Stiller. All of it is a wash. It's fine. Anna, so what's the things that you used to do that you can't do now because you are unemployed? Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Talk about it. Talk about your loss. I like to say I'm an expert because I have still managed to go to expensive workout classes. How the fuck do you do that? Yeah, how do you do that?
Starting point is 00:45:31 Are you sneaking in or what? Hey, listen, I hope ClassPass does not sponsor this podcast. They don't. Don't worry. Nothing is sponsored here. They have such good deals if you don't have ClassPass. I literally have made four fake names and emails to get. You did tell me that.
Starting point is 00:45:46 Wait, wait, wait. I show up at Flywheel, you know, and I'm like, oh, yeah, it's under A, you know, I like just put like initials now. Like I'm like AR. So you put a fake name in and then you get like free. You get like five classes for like 20 bucks or whatever. Oh, that's dope. But now my question is, do you have to have different email addresses?
Starting point is 00:46:07 Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm going to do that. I'm going to do that. That's fucking dope. Because I go to five classes a month. How many times have you done that? Like how many five classes for 20 bucks have you gotten?
Starting point is 00:46:15 Well, they change the deals all the time. But I've done it. I literally did it three times. I'm going to do that. Now I go. Yeah, it's great. Yeah, but how? Okay, so wait.
Starting point is 00:46:24 But you have to put a credit card number in. Yeah. And how much does it cost? What? These classes. Usually they're 35 a class. but with a class pass when you first join right you get five you get like i don't know it could be three for 20 or five for 40 whatever the deal is but you're like damn good you get a good deal
Starting point is 00:46:44 okay that's great honestly that's i miss going out to dinners and like not worrying so much about money i miss being able to shop i miss well dinner's funny dinner's funny because when you're unemployed the way things work all your other friends are flourishing and have coins and then you go and you go to the same place and you're like i really can't get the appetizer and the entree no more yeah i really can't i can really just do this app and i'm hoping that somebody will split the app with me so i don't even have to pay for all of it honestly dude that's why i increased my hinge limit to 65 plus because i feel like old people love to do like a app entree dessert coffee yeah young people don't do that you're getting two we gonna split some apps and
Starting point is 00:47:27 then maybe share an entree yeah yeah it's i miss i miss like not having to feel stressed about that or like you get invited to a group dinner and i'm like well i'm gonna go i you know what if i don't drink or you know whatever and it's like it's still gonna be too much oh that's the first thing i say i said uh yeah while y'all doing that check i didn't i didn't drink um i don't drink and i only had that app and sarah you had like two pieces of uh that app that i had so i need to just go with you you had some of the shrimp honestly when i go out for group dinners i'm gonna sit at this table y'all sit over there and then we can just talk across the room because you know i know exactly what i'm paying for yeah but actually marie you've been really good about
Starting point is 00:48:08 like when you go out you're like i mean we did let your brother do the bill for us and it was devastating yeah my brother can't add or subtract i don't know why we let him figure out who owed what and me and marie didn't have any drinks and they ordered steak yeah we had the we had the cheapest thing you guys shared a salad no we went to hibachi we divided a soup in half we were like well you take a sip i'll take a sip when you sip i sip we sip no yeah so dinners and i miss being able to like go away oh yeah i missed that a lot just to get like a couple years ago back when i was like employed and i was single my best friend and i like i got that christmas bonus and i was like bitch i just got ten thousand dollars let's
Starting point is 00:48:53 go away and it was december 23rd and i booked it christmas eve we booked we went to the dominican republic on christmas eve and we just went for five days it was not a nice place it was like a fine but we were like fuck it we're away on a beach it's dr you probably paid 200 we were like no no no on christmas eve it was more expensive to fly we just left well it was like cheap but it's dr though yes yes yes but it's still they still they're still jacking the price still i've never done that in my life where i could just be like you know what i don't know i think i spent like 1200 bucks but i was like i just got a bonus five days that's nothing no that's great that's nothing i mean i didn't really the food was so bad that i ate dinner rolls like breakfast lunch
Starting point is 00:49:35 dinner oh where did you go was it good no i was when i went to put the con i was great it was put the con it was not a good hotel what hotel you went to i have no idea she don't even know that's how rich she was sis that's why you gotta do it in advance with dr you gotta do it three I mean, clearly we just were like, this looks good. They have a pool. No. So you paid $1,200, but you should have been paying like $69. We made it so fun, though.
Starting point is 00:49:59 You know, we bought bottles of alcohol for the room. We were just drunk. Oh, my shit was all-inclusive, baby. So was ours. How are you buying more alcohol all-inclusive? I don't know, because we just wanted to have it in the room. They wanted to have it in the room. You didn't have the little bracelet on.
Starting point is 00:50:11 You go downstairs, you're like, let me just get six of these to go upstairs. This is what I was doing with the cup. I took one cup. I started pouring it into something else. Then I take that cup and pour it into something else. and then i'll be like okay we're gonna go come back yeah the first the first time i did something all inclusive i was in mexico and it was this oh my god it was beautiful we went and the bar was open all night it was like hey it's four o'clock in the morning and my throat is dry and i'm not
Starting point is 00:50:32 drinking the water here because i don't want what y'all got let me just get all of these things in a cup and we were just drunk all like the whole week yeah so no no trips no trips and you which a man so like and he was unemployed so like y'all so bad that yeah i always told him that too like We got together literally a couple months before I lost my job. And let me tell you, that's the same thing with me. Me and my girl, when she first met me, oh, I was flourishing. We was doing it up. Like, I had so much money.
Starting point is 00:51:02 And then what happened? I got sober. So I was still working. I was still making money. But then soon, what was it, last year? Oh, that's when everything just went downhill. I quit one job. And then I was like, oh, I'm going to keep this one job because I'm going to work for one day.
Starting point is 00:51:19 And then the whole shit got shut down. And then I was unexpected with that unemployment. And I wasn't prepared. Of course you weren't. You don't be saving. No. Because I was like, oh, more money's coming. And we got booked for that thing.
Starting point is 00:51:30 So I was like, okay. And we shut a couple pilots. So I was like, okay, this is going to be a good year. This is going to be a great year. And then at the end of the year, I was like, Maria, you want to split this hibachi? Do you want to just get one? Do you want to split this miso soup? yeah can we get one order of ramen two bowls oh my god for real though i know it's so it's
Starting point is 00:51:54 deceiving though because it's like you you get one thing and you're like we were talking about this earlier you get paid as a as an actor as a comedian you're like i've i made it like how could it go down from here you're like there's only one way i can go up yeah you're like oh no i can go further down six months later i'm like fucking i make soups now once a week because i love soup so i may i've like tried to make like good soups because i'm like well i can eat this four nights you make it last make that shit last you have a stew you gotta make stews now i do i made a chili the other night well what is your what's your what's your soup situation how you make a soup or prepare a chili i so i never cooked i i had an accident two years ago it's
Starting point is 00:52:32 almost my two-year anniversary of hacking my thumb in half on a knife thank god i did that when i had insurance i mean you can see my thumb is all fucked up looks a little bit like my thumb though you hacked it in half um i have no feeling in my i've hacked all the nerves um oh so you can you can oh you really could you really cut your thumb off huh but the nail is still whole so there's that so you were slicing and dicing some onions i went to the bone yeah i was no i made it i was trying to hack an avocado oh my god listen listen this is a note white people stay away from our vegetables and our fruits yeah avocados are not for y'all and i never even thought of hacking a who does that it's not a pineapple like rachel ray does it you know what
Starting point is 00:53:17 i mean rachel ray has more meat on her bones than you follow she wouldn't she wouldn't have hacked it to the bone she's got other people watching over her to make sure hey rachel watch your thumb like they they pre-sliced them for rachel yeah so you oh let's walk through this you have the avocado on your hand what kind of knife are you holding a giant chef's knife that i bought the day before okay so you don't even know how to use it you weren't even practicing with it you wasn't my ex-boyfriend cooked so i never had to and then like i was you know single for a while and i was having people over for the oscars that's why it's almost my two-year anniversary okay so you have the avocado in your hand yes you slice part of it the knife goes through your thumb
Starting point is 00:53:54 no i the pit so i sliced it in half and you know the half of the pit there's a way where you can you hit it half the pit and then twist it and it comes right out that's what you did to yourself I never even thought of that. I had one drink and I just fucking hacked my hand. I'm bleeding everywhere. I'm in a dress.
Starting point is 00:54:11 Did the blood get on the avocado? Everywhere. I ran into the bathroom. I didn't want to see my friends. I didn't want them to see me like freak out.
Starting point is 00:54:18 And I had to go to the ER. I got my first stitches ever. How many stitches did you have to get? Seven. But didn't you feel good knowing,
Starting point is 00:54:26 hey man, I got health insurance. If a bitch hack off her fucking thumb, you know what? I'm going to put some olive oil on it. I'm going to wrap it up.
Starting point is 00:54:34 i'm gonna suck it till it stops bleeding i'm gonna pray i know i'm so brave right now to make soups with that knife again you still got that knife yeah i mean did it feel good though to have a bloody ass thumb and then watch uh la la land think they won the oscar and then be like no it's moonlight it was a year before it don't even matter i don't even know who won last year you guys should come i i throw down for the oscars i want you guys to come to my oscars everyone listening to shoot me an email you guys are all coming for oscars we're great We're so great I mean me and Marie
Starting point is 00:55:02 We had a little Oscars party At a At a comedy club And it was It was turnt We were Oh we wore catsuits We wore sequins
Starting point is 00:55:10 Real sequins Yeah We hosted it We did it We did the damn thing We had flautas You're doing it again We had flautas
Starting point is 00:55:16 Yeah You think she's gonna ask us again Maybe I don't know What year What I mean What time What day is the Oscars
Starting point is 00:55:22 It's in March March 4th Oh I'm not gonna be here I'm gonna be at the Oscars in LA Okay Wow tell lee i'm gonna wear black i'm gonna be making a soup oh my wait so okay so there's certain things that you can't do
Starting point is 00:55:41 the one thing is that i'm like if i was if i had a boyfriend i wouldn't feel bad about being broke because i would be like a man can pay and it's fine but i'm in a relationship with a woman and And, like, me not having no money in this situation is like, damn, we got to pay together. Do you live together? Yes. Yeah, I don't understand. That's why I don't think I could be a lesbian. Yeah, no, you can't, Marie.
Starting point is 00:56:03 I'm going to change my preference to women on Hinge. I don't know if it's just I've never felt comfortable having him pay for everything. What? That's because you are a guy. Lee didn't raise you right. Lee raised you wrong, sis. She laid you. She wanted you to be the I-N-D-E.
Starting point is 00:56:18 Like, even on our first date, I think we split it. That's terrible. I would have left him. See, this is why you are where you are right now. Because you're splitting things too early. I like to be able to, like, pay. I don't know. And I like to split shit.
Starting point is 00:56:29 I like to be able to be like, nah. Anna, when you get some more money, we def going to hang out. You like to pay? Okay, girl. We going to hang it out. Like, ah, I don't know. I like your socks. Sometimes I'll just, sometimes if I'm, like, crying and I'm like, I miss being able to buy shoes.
Starting point is 00:56:47 And he'll be like, I got dinner tonight. Because I put on the act. that's what i did at the diner with calvin you sound like rachel from friends right wasn't she like her parents paid for everything she didn't have no skill i mean i feel like you got some skills you got all the skills you're super talented and you dress well whenever i see you got a look on or like a vintage blouse yeah thank you and you're the unemployment show is outstanding thank you talk about that a little bit yeah tell us about so that's the other thing i made it a brand right i made being unemployed my brand which was a joke
Starting point is 00:57:17 at first and now it's been a year and it's like really fun and people like it to the point where I've gone into interviews and they're and for like part-time jobs and I'm like um I'd prefer not to work Thursdays and they're like why because you do your unemployed show online and I'm like you watch
Starting point is 00:57:32 um yeah that literally happened to me at a because I do part-time jobs and that was at an interview I got the job though so what's the job I give tours to who Asians at funeral homes it's that funeral home
Starting point is 00:57:47 I give you guys should come I make my friends come and they have to fake tip me I give tours of 5th Avenue fashion houses
Starting point is 00:57:55 so like from 41st Street 5th Ave to 59th we end at Bergdorf's and I talk about the history of like Valentino
Starting point is 00:58:01 and like we talk about what's in the window and like bro that's boring to me you know no that's a job and then I'll be like
Starting point is 00:58:07 I'll hand you the 20 and I'm like Anna give me that 30 back give me back 30 no I make I made my mom Lee came on the tour
Starting point is 00:58:14 I said listen do not talk to me do not act like my mom don't pretend you know me just be like super into the tour and at the end hand me 50 and make every all these european tourists see it so they know it's custom europeans will be like i don't even know they'll hand you a quarter they'll be like oh this is what's in my body like for laundry yeah oh i know i worked in restaurants i know they so rude listen european people listening to this when you come to this country you got a tip tip okay and then don't do don't whatever change is in your pocket that's not the tip what you do is you look at it

Starting point is 00:59:35 profile it's it asked how much you wanted to tip what the percentage was and now every time you finish taking an uber it asks you to add more money but it was when you first set up your uber profile eight years ago sis however many years you've been using uber it said like i want to tip 10 or 15 or 20 no i never saw that that never it said that you don't have to tip because we're already taking care of that that when i jumped on when i jumped on it was like hey the tip was already included or we already took care of mine is uh mine is scrolled all the way down to the zero so anna listen i tip you got a tip i was in the service industry forever it's shitty to not where can people listening catch the unemployed employment show it's the unemployed show
