Starting point is 00:04:12 how did it feel to have a record with the smalls it was believing that was a dream come true because look we all come from the same place right so for me on the way to the court, I'm LL.
Starting point is 00:04:30 I got the ducy rope chain. I got the cane go up. I got on Obama, right? LL. KooJ. When I get to the court, I'm Dr. J. Right? So I was always in the music. I used to do, I used to do the Paws, Mick Taps,
Starting point is 00:04:43 you know, 98.7 kids, W.BLS. I'm from Brick City in case people don't know who I have. You know what I'm saying? Jersey stand. So I wanted to be a rapper on certain days. I wanted to be a ball. So, like, I was doing it at the same time, right, writing rhymes. My first rhyme was ashes to ashes and dust to dust.
Starting point is 00:05:04 If you walk up once you're killed, then you will get busted. Right, that's my first ride, right? 80, 80, 80, like, I'm spitting like that. And then as the game evolved, you just, you know, mimic your favorite rappers. So I did six albums. I never wanted to be a rapper. My whole thing is about being a kid from the project's having dreams. And just following those dreams.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Right. What kept you focused from falling off? You know, because there's a lot of kids from the projects, and it's hard. It's one thing and one thing only. I see my mom struggle so much. I said to myself, I'm going to get my mom in a new house. And if you try to take that away from me, I'm going to kill you. I don't care who I'm going against.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Ewing, Robinson. I'm trying to get my mom a new career. I've seen my mama come in, cook for us, clean for us. clean for us, never complained, and I was the one that was possibly going to get us out of that. They used to tell me, you're the one, and I never believed them.
Starting point is 00:06:05 You're the one, you're the one, but as I kept going, it just kept coming, and then, like, the money game was crazy. Like, when I was in high school, I wanted to make $8 million for 10 years. That was my goal, $800,000. And, you know, I had it all set up, give me a little house, get me a bins,
Starting point is 00:06:19 I'm going to get me a Jimmy Blazer, but the money game just went so crazy. I was like, you know what? You give me five, This is four Jimmy Bleasers. Two Bittlies. This is my chance to just, you know, put us in a, you know, different, different direction. So, like, I used to, like, do certain stuff all the time.
Starting point is 00:06:37 So I get to the Arsenio Hall show. He said, man, we want you to do something. I like being different. I'm not coming in there in no suit. Right. And talking. I want to, I want to rap with my favorite rap group. At the time, was food schnickens.
Starting point is 00:06:51 So Chip, hollied at me. He sent me to beat. I did a verse, came down, blazed the verse. They put it on the album, so we get to the show. I'm just having fun. Right. But as I looked at it, like, yo, big boy looked like he know what he's doing. Right.
Starting point is 00:07:06 He ain't the best, but he ain't the worst. Right. He's not right in the middle. So the next day my agent said, man, something weird happened. I said, well, he said, job just offer you 10 million, 10 million for three albums. I was like, I'm going to do it. He's like, you want to be a rap? I said, no, I ain't about being around, but I'm a rap with all my favorite artists.
Starting point is 00:07:24 That's what I'm to do Because listen, I'm real Nobody want to hear me 17 songs by myself I know this I understand that But if I get Biggie on there If I get Jay Z on there If I get Eric Serman and Red Man
Starting point is 00:07:37 You know what I'm saying And you want platinum That's what I'm saying So my whole My whole concept was to rhyme With my favorite people Now the Biggie situation Everybody was rocking Biggie
Starting point is 00:07:48 He said my name in the song I'm jamming brothers like Shaquille Oh my name is real Yeah, yeah, it is real. Even though I'm Shaq, I'm still a kid. Yeah. Like, when people know who I am, it still amazes me. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:02 I'm like, damn, big, you know who I am? Like, you know, we young, you know, like the same man, I'm like, damn. Biggie, know who I am? Right. So, one of my men, Frank, who was working on my own, rest and peace, he said, hey, man, I got Big on the phone. I holl out of a hey, big, big, what's so deep, they? Real cool brother. And I said, Big, I'm working on my album.
Starting point is 00:08:22 Oh, yeah, I got you. So I sent him the plane ticket, him in the Little Seas. They came down. But keep in mind, I did my verse a hundred times. I'm going to go, damn, big, big coming in here. Big up here. I know I ain't going to be up there, but I can't be down there. I can't be down there.
Starting point is 00:08:39 I can't embarrass big. Absolutely. So I spit it. No, like I would go, because I had a studio in the house. I was going every day. So then I spit that verse and everybody, you know, that's cool. He's going to like that. He's going to like that.
Starting point is 00:08:50 So him and sees fly, I'm nervous as shit. Yeah. He come in, I'll play it for him, and he just, he's looking. And then he started rocking. I'm like, damn, big. Big rocking. Yeah, he likes it. So then I had some paper on the pen.
Starting point is 00:09:04 I said, here you go. I'm going to house, engineer here. Just let me know when you're done. He's like, no, I'm ready right now. Damn. No, what you mean? He's ready right now. He never heard the beat.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Never. I'm the only going to want the beat. Like, he didn't even know the concept of the song. Right. He said, no, I'm ready right now. Like, you just hit, you know, here one time. And then he went in there. I tell you, bro, it was the most amazing thing
Starting point is 00:09:25 I've seen in my life. But I had to hit the button. I said, big. That's the dobest verse ever had. He was like, oh, that's right. My fault, kids. Because the shit he spit with, I'm not even going with that.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Yeah. Got it. I'll never play it. I got it. He said, oh, that's right. And then he went back and spit, but, bro, it was, when I tell you, it was two minutes,
Starting point is 00:09:48 it was two minutes. Yeah. Two minutes. No, no, no, no. Right in the studio. he was like that Gigger Man was like that Nause was like that
Starting point is 00:09:58 and KRS was like that KRS came in that a thing one time and spit like a 45 minute freestyle That's great That ain't that something We all got in common Me
Starting point is 00:10:05 Me But KRS was spit in the free side I was like You know let's use that He's like no no We're not going to use that I was just practicing
Starting point is 00:10:14 I was like you just practicing Man Red man's like that Yeah So I'm I'm blessed to just have Be able to to Rine with my favorite
Starting point is 00:10:22 Ars because I'm gonna keep it all the way 100 and I hope I'm not disrespecting about it. It wasn't enough money in that for me. Yeah. So my thing was it wasn't about being a rappers about just being able to get in there.
Starting point is 00:10:32 To that rent money, that temporary money. And I was thinking about the hell of it. I think about the other thing, I got a hell of a discography. All right, well, after the, after the job... Would you like to know the names? No, we won't get to that, but after the job gave you the $10 million for three hours, what was the re-up? The re-up was I tried to
Starting point is 00:10:49 go on my own, because that's when Barry Ray and all the people start coming up and I was like, okay. You checked him about bird, man. Can you tell him don't see him? No, I did not check him about bird now. First of all, street rule number one. You mind your own, man.
Starting point is 00:11:02 You mind your own business, man. See, that's why we keep getting into it because you mind another people business. I don't be one to put hands on your cuss, but you mind another people business home. I'm starting to label with him. I don't know nothing about none of that now. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:11:14 I like it. I don't pay, man. I don't, this episode of million dollars worth a game is brought to you by Corr-Seltzer. Corr Seltzer isn't your average Seltzer, rooted in Corps is a long history of sustainability.

Starting point is 00:12:49 rappers are all the time? Top, not count with you. I don't like to. get into that because a lot of these cats are sensitive. That's why me and me and I love the game, we don't care.
Starting point is 00:13:02 How many are there? We don't care about sensitivity. Dame nice. Dame is nice. Who else did some? I can give you my top five. Yeah, go ahead. My top five would be
Starting point is 00:13:15 no specific order. Shack, Dane, Lou Williams. Oh, Lou Williams did some? Yes, Lou Williams. go. We're missing some people. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:13:25 I've never heard that. Is it only... Imond Shumper. But it's the only rap? Is it only rap? Because you gotta get through Dion in there. Dionne. Dionne.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Dion Sanders. Must be the money. Man, you know that was a classic. No, it was. He kept talking that talk. He was. It wasn't that many. It wasn't that many.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Bro, you know how many athletes rap? I don't know. I was in the... Iverson. Colby. Averson Colby. It's a gang. of them. Most of them, rat.
Starting point is 00:13:55 They just don't put albums out. I don't like to say he was that. Because my thing, I wasn't trying to be, look, I know I'm not the best rapper. I know I ain't the worst rapper. I'm okay with being in the middle. And then when you're a team player, it's okay. I got somebody better than me. Who's the worst athlete?
Starting point is 00:14:10 For example, I know I don't get three in a row without Kobe. I know that. But guess what? I'm going to do my part. Right? I mean. Yeah, I'm going to do my part. Yeah, you did.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Your elbowed, uh, Kimbey Matumbo, all in his face. You got 45 and 25. You definitely did your part. We went through the pain when you did your part. No, but you know what's funny about that series? So he was a defensive player of the year, and they didn't double me. I take that as a sign of disrespect when you don't double me. It was a sign of disrespect.
Starting point is 00:14:40 It was. Absolutely. Because that was like a 50-pound difference, wasn't it? Okay. Listen, I'm 50, 100, it don't matter. Like, if you don't double me, that's just telling me you don't respect my game. So, like, I would get it. Like, I'm looking, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:14:54 y'all ain't going to double? All right. You sure you ain't going to double? I'm sure you're not going to double. I'm going to ask you one more time, you ain't going to double, and then, you know, just turn around. And then, you know, all y'all are casting Philly
Starting point is 00:15:05 with all that, ah, Charlie Mac and all right. We were crazy. Let me ask you a question. Okay. What was the talk in that locker room after Chuck, Bubba Chuck walked over Tyrone Luke? The talk was, we let one slip away, they ain't going to win another.
Starting point is 00:15:19 Because we were trying to be the only team that swept the whole playoffs. Yeah. But we don't like doubling people either Because now when you double him All the other cats get up on it And we were like, okay, AI You got 55, get 55 again
Starting point is 00:15:32 He couldn't, huh? No, he could, but we just had to, you know, we just had a different, different mentality. Y'all had a better team. And I wish you would have got one. Y'all had a better team. I wish you would have got one. I wish he would have got one.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Because you know why? He's one of the greatest players ever and it's unfair for the haters to say, Well, you ain't got no ring. You know what I mean? It is. Well, you tell Chuck that all the time. Well, Chuck is not AI.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Chuck ain't AI. Oh, Chuck Barley wasn't AI. No, hell no. Hey, Shaq, do you wish you were coming here? Whoa, whoa, whoa. Where my girl at, though? Mora? Y'all set me up.
Starting point is 00:16:16 No, no, no, no, no. This shit just hit me right now. What's that? I thought Mona was going to be here. Man, I'm out, man You out? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Bro, we get on the flight right now.
Starting point is 00:16:28 She had some things to do, but we can get on. No, no, you told me to come to do the podcast, and I said, Mona going to be there? You're like, yeah, she's going to be here. Mona. You set me out. She's going to call you, too, yeah. She's going to call you.
Starting point is 00:16:40 She going to call you. Okay, that's all right. So, Shack, let me say this, right. To all up and coming youngans, not even just playing sports. to the up-and-coming young kids that's trying to be something in life because you really came out the gutter
Starting point is 00:16:59 and you got real businesses. Real businesses. Like real businesses. Like we went to one of your restaurants that had dinner and it's like the whole almost the strip was like the corner block was yours and like what advice could you get a youth
Starting point is 00:17:17 whether there's a female that's trying to start a clothing line, a young boy, It's trying to go to the league or to NFL or, you know, whatever you could give them as far as business-wise that they could use in their journey coming up in life. One, you have to educate yourself. Now, when I say education, it ain't always about go to school. Right. We come from the same place. I mean, people we see do something on the corner, we educate ourselves and we do it a little better.
Starting point is 00:17:44 We do a little bigger. Right. Right. Educate yourself, right? Learn. Ask questions. second thing is watch
Starting point is 00:17:52 there's so much information going right now you can watch like me I watch people's mistakes my father
Starting point is 00:18:00 who was a military drill sergeant I'm glad he did what he did every time my athlete did something crazy I got in
Starting point is 00:18:06 trouble worst ass whoop I ever received my life was when Lynn Byes overdosed
Starting point is 00:18:13 my father came in with tears in his eye like that was his son he's like if you ever do Coke, I will kill you.
Starting point is 00:18:20 So my dumb ass thinking, bro, I don't mess a Coke, I mess with Pepsi. Yeah, because I don't know what he was talking about. He's not much with Pepsi. But like, when he was grabbing me and, you know,
Starting point is 00:18:31 after he touched me up, we went and we watched it. He was like, look at this. Gone. My brother could have been the number one pick. He could have used to. So he was like, if you ever do something like that, I'm going to kill you.
Starting point is 00:18:41 So it's not that I'm smart on everybody. I just watch. Right. I ask questions. And you listen. And I listen. That's, that's, that's the
Starting point is 00:18:49 key. So I got my first business before I got my master's business administration. I did that. I went to the bookstore and bought a book, the dummies guy, to start your own business. And anytime I didn't understand, I'd ask somebody. My man, what's a subchapter S corporation? Man, you get that, man, all the studio stuff and the phone stuff. You can write that off.
Starting point is 00:19:10 You get money back. So I'm learning the game. So we just need to keep continuing giving them the answers to the tests. Hopefully they listen, but it really is easy. Because look, I ain't the smallest kind of the world. I just sit back and watch, okay, that's how you do it. Okay, Jordan got his own brand. How am I get my brand?
Starting point is 00:19:32 Right. Okay, Jordan did a JV with Nike, joint ventureship. All right, Nike, I probably can't do that what Nike. There's Adidas, there's a Reebok. Hello, Mr. Reebok. My name is Mr. Shaq. I'd like to have a shoe. Sure.
Starting point is 00:19:44 By the way, Jordan has a jump man. I already got dunk man. I already got it. You already got it, you know, labeling all that stuff. Let's do something. We do it. Bam. But now I'm like, because like I, I like to put everything I do in street sense.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Right. So now Jordan moving way more bricks than I'm moving, right? So now I've got to switch up. Now I got to switch up. Like Jordan owned this, this hood. So I said, you know what? It's a lot of kids that can't afford these shoes. I ain't going to do nothing with Reebok no more.
Starting point is 00:20:15 I'm going to do something on my own. Right. I'm going to go to bed. place like Walmart and Target, give them a shoe 30, 40, and now, that's my lane. Right. I'm the Pablo Escobar of that. Yeah, Jordan got this. I got this.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Right. So, you know, people try to give me a lot of flag, but it's something that needed to be done. And then I figured out, it ain't the fact that kids don't want to wear $20 shoes. They don't want to wear shoes that look like they cost $20. Right. So I got some, you know, pretty cool, you know, some pretty hot designers. And ever since I made that decision, I've sold over. $250 million pair.
Starting point is 00:20:49 Dang. Damn. And like I make a lot of people happy because I couldn't afford Jordan. Right. I tried to cut grass and watch cars and do that. And by the time I raise up the money, they only came with size 13.
Starting point is 00:21:02 So I couldn't, I couldn't wear it. But to answer your question, all they got to do is just educate themselves. And again, education ain't always about going to school. Because me and you, we know a lot of cats that they never went to school and they're bawling. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Balling. And it's also about, understanding your weaknesses. That's it. And knowing where you're not. Put your, you know, know your strengths and align with your weaknesses. Put them around you. Like, how's important is the accountants?
Starting point is 00:21:28 But, listen, you still have to educate yourself. Because if you're not educated, the accountant can take anything. They can beat you. Take anything. I'm educated enough to go look at the books. Okay. And my father instilled that at me because 70% of athletes when they're done playing, they have nothing.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Damn. And I didn't want to be that. So I'm like, hey, man, what's happening? No, no, no, no, no. What is this? And, like, I really had to learn business when I went platinum. Mm-hmm. My check was weak.
Starting point is 00:21:57 Yeah? I'm like, yeah, I'm like, all these dudes go play. You sold hard copies then, this was hard copies. Absolutely. This wasn't no streams added in and the bootlegs stuff. Then I'm like, this check, this ain't, this ain't, this ain't what I thought I was going to be. So now when I open them books, they charge me for studio time. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, studio in my house.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Right. Give me that back. Right. They're charging me for catering. No, no, no. My chef cooked the meal for Biggie and Jay Z and not. So if I wasn't educated enough to look at that, I wouldn't be able to have my people call it.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Bad, they got me out of so much. But like, after I opened up the books and looked at it, you got it. I'm like, no, no, no. This is my studio. Right. I'm paying the engineering. Right.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Oh, he missed it. No, no. My boy makes it in my heart. I already paid him separately. So you just have to, you know, educate yourself. And you've got to be up on. your game all the way around the board. And you have to turn that
Starting point is 00:22:52 sensitivity button off. So like you mean by that. When somebody say something about me, before I go to 10, I listen. Uh-huh. He's right. Shack shit and I did do, do it. I listen first like before I go to
Starting point is 00:23:08 10. If there's any validity into it, I say, okay, and I won't respond. But if you just cloud chasing or trying to do what you do. Pumping at the gums. Then I got to respond. Absolutely. How you get in my mind. What made you start thinking, like, let me... Because I'm not right all the time.
Starting point is 00:23:23 And I'm not the smartest guy in the room. And I can admit and say I'm not the smartest guy in the room. And I want to learn from the smartest guy in the room. And you have to sometimes sit back and, you know, just humble yourself sometimes and just, you know, just say that. I learned that by going to one of those tech meetings. And you see all the big boys. They really know what they do. And they don't be saying nothing.
Starting point is 00:23:47 to be sitting back. Like, why are you not talking? And then all of a sudden you just hear, I'll put in 50 million, I'll put in $200 million. Right. I'm like, okay, that's how they do it. So instead of coming in there loud,
Starting point is 00:24:02 I just sit back and just watch. I'm like, oh, okay, dad. And then you just, and then you just write it down. I learned that from magic. Magic. When I first got to L.A. magic was like, oh, man, it's cool being a man,
Starting point is 00:24:15 but at some point you want to start owning stuff. I ain't know what he was talking about. But then after I got that book, I start. My favorite word in the book is joint ventureship. Joint ventureship. Like, for example, if I'm going to do a podcast, I'm going to get this crew right here. Absolutely. I do have a podcast called Big Podcast with Jack on our podcast one.
Starting point is 00:24:34 Just wanted to shut that out. And believe that. Yeah, but instead of trying to do it myself, just do a JV. So like when I had that record label, I left Jive, but I said, I'll tell you what, I'm going to still do business with y'all get to that. distribution that's it absolutely that's all it did so and you and understand to the youth out there that he was able to do that because even through him getting his 10 million dollars him having to open the books up him doing all of those things catching them with their hand
Starting point is 00:25:05 in a cookie jar yeah he still kept it good business okay I got caught you all okay cool I got y'all you try to get one over me that's cool now I just need y'all for distribution He can go off He ran on them all crazy Put their business out there And at the time They just kept it moving Handled business
Starting point is 00:25:26 Took the sensitivity out of the business I understand what he's saying He took the sensitive out of it All the emotion out of it And then came back and got Distribution And killed him Because I wish I could talk to some of these kids
Starting point is 00:25:42 That have beef I could put them out I would just sit down be that listen to the world think we got beef now let's go make a help let's let's WWE this shit that's AEW wrestling
Starting point is 00:25:56 this and it will really blow up blow up but you know why it's never going to happen it's not even going to be because of the rappers it's going to be because of the entourage but guess what we control the entourage we used to control the entourage
Starting point is 00:26:12 if me and you had beef I would come and say okay you probably say okay two of the off limits and my kid's off limit cool and I say my kid's off limit Sean the off limit or net off limit
Starting point is 00:26:23 you can talk about everything out and we go back and forth but like okay like and then we just put it out just to you know see the reaction and the reaction would be crazy and then we do a show right
Starting point is 00:26:32 you know we do a show right you or your boys me and my boys we come to meet them we push each other and that motherfucker beat the job
Starting point is 00:26:39 and we just fucking go you know what I'm saying like you know what I'm saying you know what I'm saying because You've got to get to the money. That's the bottom line. Let's get to the money.
Starting point is 00:26:50 That's the bottom line. And if anything going to stop the money, we don't need to be having it. It hurts me when young brothers, I don't see him anymore. Like, young brother, that just hurts me. I wish I could say something, but, you know, street rule number one, mind your business. But, like, when I'm on these sites and I'd be seeing brothers getting popped, that hurts me. Because you could be the next. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:27:17 You could be the next. Absolutely. And what's sad about it is that it's that it's almost like this generation that we got right now with Youngens. They almost made dying cool. They glorify it. Like they glorify dying. Like I've never seen so many people like in my time. joke around about dying like in this time.
Starting point is 00:27:47 I'm always careful when I say this generation. Yeah. And let me tell you why. Our parents used to look at us crazy too. Absolutely. And we used to be crazy. And we still did it our way. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Right. I can remember mama bumping Commodores. Right. And then I'm on 98.7 kids and I hear that, Pongedamee, don't get punky, right? And then like, you know, they have to dance doing the oohie, ooh, and they're I'm coming in. It's going to pop it on that.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Yeah, you know, they look at us as crazy. So. Right. Don't stop. I try not to push them away. I know. I just try to give them. But you are correct.
Starting point is 00:28:25 I just try to give them the information. And for us, we don't push them away. We just put that information out there to trigger, like, to, for maybe one, maybe two, maybe 100, maybe $1,000, maybe $10,000, however many of them watches, might be like. And this is what? You glorify dying, though. And this is what I tell. Because sometimes you've got to put it on their mind for them to understand.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Like, damn, what he just said did make sense. Like, I go to my page and I got 11 RIPs up. Yeah. And I always tell them, get to where you're trying to go. Like, if you get your first million, now go for 10. If you get 10, now go for 20. Like, just, it's good to be, to get old. It's good to get old.
Starting point is 00:29:12 I got a lot of story. It's good to get old. And I can only tell them stories because I'm old. Because you're old. It's old. It's good to be able to, you know, say I did it this way. And you know what? How much is that automobile picket at?
Starting point is 00:29:24 $2.50, give me two of them. Right. Oh, speaking of, I got gifts. I know it's not your job, brother. You do me for ever go in the back of the car. Go on the back of the car and get those two yellow boxes. So I try not to, I just try to give them answers to the test. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:29:43 Magic and them gave me answers to the test. Absolutely. It wasn't in my face. They wasn't saying, hey, you don't need to be rapping. They just said, hey, at some point, you got to win championship. Right. I like you. You can't start the round.
Starting point is 00:29:57 You got to win. You know, you're shooting all these rap here, but at some point. Right. I was like, you know what? You're right. Right. So that's what I try to do to you. Let me ask you a question on a basketball standpoint.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Do you think you maximized your talent? No. Not at all. People only got to see 25% of my game. Damn. I'm Janus before Janus. As you know, I'm the first big cat to take that thing.
Starting point is 00:30:26 Off the rim, coach the coast. With style. Absolutely. But, like I said, I got to, I got to get to that money. So when I came in, it was, I already knew I was the fifth best center. I already knew that. It's five better than you? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:43 Who was that? Ewan was a monster, Akeem, David Robinson. It was still a couple of other cats, right? So the way they was playing, I was like, well, I don't want to play like that. Let me, let me see if they're like this punishment. You know, Joe. Shout out to Josh. Jaws when they got them.
Starting point is 00:31:00 Those with Shaq words, because with Shaq came to lead. Thank you, brother. I wish I knew y'all is here. I ought to got y'all something, too. So I said, uh. Oh, okay. Yeah, just, you know, a little something that you can wear every day.
Starting point is 00:31:16 Appreciate your big homie. You know what I mean? And Victor. And Victor, appreciate you. This is your company? One of my companies. One of my companies. You got a great.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Well, actually, what I have a joint venture with them, Victor. They make the watches and that's just my shack line. Absolutely. So what I like about them is they always make the big joints. Yeah, this is you, and it's heavy as. Jack, you know what? I don't own one watch. You know?
Starting point is 00:31:42 I've been home. This is my first watch, man. You got a question, you know. Because me and my cousin got the same relationship. Shout out to Ken Dog, big fan of you. Big Ken Dog. We got the same relationship. I'll ask you one question.
Starting point is 00:31:54 What's that? Y'all be taking it to 10, but have you ever took it to 11 where you start blowing a thorn blow? Oh, yeah, I tended his eyes before. I've tended his eyes going a lot. I told your eyes right up. Listen, and I had a onesie on. He was mad because I had a onesie on and I put him in a leg lock.
Starting point is 00:32:10 I'm going to keep him with a onesie on. He was mad. You didn't handle draws on it. So if I did, I think I had you're feeling real violated. So it doesn't matter. But I tend to get, no lie. I tend to you something nice, too. And one thing I can say is he took it like a champ.
Starting point is 00:32:27 No, but you know I like about y'all? And I think a lot of people should pay attention. Y'all go to 10, but the respect will always be there. Absolutely. I'm never going to disrespect because. Never. No one. Wait, hold on.
Starting point is 00:32:37 You choking me in a onesie with no draws. That's not a disrespect. That's what I'm just hiding you at the moment. It's cool. It's a little fatuation. I'm just like, that wasn't disrespectful. What'd you call it,
Starting point is 00:32:47 though? That's disrespectful. That was just showing him some attention because sometimes he went manly attention. Cugs, come grab me,
Starting point is 00:32:52 all right, because he says him out of his mouth. And I jump on him and just, just play with his innocence a little bit. That's all.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Remember that movie? How did he grab you? Cause he grabbed you like this or he grabbed you like this? I grabbed him like this. I'm just saying, you like to get felled up sometimes. He's cool.
Starting point is 00:33:09 And that's how the old head when he went to jail, right? was 17, the old head body check name. He didn't know what it meant, but the old head kept too. And I figured out, yeah, y'all ain't okay? I'm like, hey, I'm like, hey, so then another old head to tell him, you,
Starting point is 00:33:22 well, stop letting the old head do that to you, man. He thought he was sure that, man. I just thought he was friendly. I thought he was friendly. He thought he was friendly. Like, damn, this ain't a bad place. Dude, it's nice in here. So I didn't know. I mean, you think it like,
Starting point is 00:33:35 you know, I heard bad stories about me. Then one time he had, he didn't know that when you send your draws and your stuff to the laundry, right? If they send it back to you and your stuff folded, they try and go on a date.
Starting point is 00:33:51 He was trying to go on a date. His stuff was folded for a month street. He's like, he fooled my rest of the jail like, like, wait, he fooled your stuff. Oh, he had to take him down. He had to take him down. He stopped folding this stuff.
Starting point is 00:34:05 Wait, I like my, he did. He didn't argue always. I like my stuff folding. I did. But I ain't know what time it was, it was a date. The date attached to that shit. I'll be at the crew.
Starting point is 00:34:15 I ain't know there's no big tax to that. You ain't know what the deed attached to that? No, I'm like, oh, I thought this was just a nice place. You know what I mean? I'm going to ask you some names. Mona. Is her name Romona? No, I think her name.
Starting point is 00:34:32 Demona. Even better. Uh-huh. Even better, huh? Domona. Delona. Duma. I'm going to ask you players.
Starting point is 00:34:45 I need to know. Is this the thing you did with Rashid? No. I need to know. I heard you, Rashid, talking about a little Louisle Center. That's right. Little Lou Alcinda. Stop it, Rashid.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Come on now. Damn. Come on now. Me personally, I think that Michael Jordan is the greatest player to ever play the game. Yep. And I think that Shaquille O'Neal is the most dominant player to ever play the game. And you know what's crazy? Is it, that's the title that I was going for.
Starting point is 00:35:16 Most dominant. Yeah, let me tell you why. That ain't something you hear all the time. No. When it comes to the best, I'm hearing four or five names. Absolutely. We don't have to dispute. Oh, no, no, most dominant.
Starting point is 00:35:27 But when you come to my most dominant, I only hear two names. I can't say you a Wilk, I mean, I can't say Wilk because I've never seen Will play. But those are only two names right here. And guess what? I'm fine with that. Absolutely. Because Will's scored 100 in one game. I don't care if you're playing against A.
Starting point is 00:35:42 gradeers. That's impressive. And for me it's like you see a lot of players come in you know you might be great he probably would be great
Starting point is 00:35:58 I've never seen a player other than you and maybe LeBron that I said they're going to win a championship.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Like I knew watching you in college, he's winning an NBA championship. I had to. It ain't, it's nothing's going to stop him from winning at least one championship because he's that dominion. You know what I had to? Little kids in Philly looking at Uncle Shack. Kids in the brick looking at Uncle Shack. Kids in L.A., Baton Rouge, Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:36:35 Everybody looking at Uncle Shack. I can't let them down. My mama looking at me. I ain't going to let them down. So what about for me is about for them. Because guess who did that for me? Dr. Jay. Right.
Starting point is 00:36:45 Dr. Jay did that for me. So is that what keeps you motivated now? Yes, I definitely, like now, my mother, after I retire, she put her hands on my face. She said, baby, I love you. I want you to start lifting people's spirits. So what I've been doing lately is I go in stores and I look for moms. They remind me and me and my son. So the other day I'm in Best Buy.
Starting point is 00:37:11 I ain't buying none. And I'm just walking around, and I see this, this mama and her son, she's in the layaway section. So I'm here hustling, and she's trying to get some laptops so her babies can go to school. She owed like $1,100, nice, beautiful sister girl. And I heard her to say, okay, I'm going to bring $300 this week, this week. And she grabbed one of her baby and said, I'm going to get the laptops in two weeks, baby. And she walked out, and I said, I got you. She's like, you don't have to do it.
Starting point is 00:37:39 I was like, yes, I do it, because my mama told me to do it. Absolutely. And just trying to, you know, lift people's spirits, make people happy, and just trying to make the world a better place. You do that a lot, too. I've seen a couple of videos that went extremely viral. You're going, like, doing that. Is that just from your mom or is that a part of you? No, I just, look, I don't, because my model lately has been it could be worse.
Starting point is 00:38:09 It could be worse, and that could be you. Absolutely. So, look, $1,500 ain't nothing to me, but mom trying to help her babies go to school. I'm standing right there. Do it. And you understand that $1,500 is nothing to you, but it's everything to somebody else. Yes, it is. Like, I got hit with this lady yesterday.
Starting point is 00:38:30 She said her son needs her studio equipment. If not, he's going to go crazy. I told her, I told her, send me what you need, make sure it ain't no scam. She sent me what she needs So I'm going to hook him up And be a hell of a story If I could keep him from getting popped Absolutely
Starting point is 00:38:48 Because she's like, look I'm here by myself And he hired him But the only thing he liked to do is music And I can't afford it So I do stuff like that all the time And it's just You know
Starting point is 00:38:59 The right thing to do And it's crazy Because me and Walo do stuff like that all the time You know I'm Muslim I give out We give out 20 something thousand hours We're for toys on
Starting point is 00:39:10 Christmas and You were supposed to give my kids don't even celebrate yesterday but we down here right you know
Starting point is 00:39:14 50 so they I told them to them to give us no 150 turkeys turkeys oh okay yeah for Thanksgiving
Starting point is 00:39:20 as well random people you know we don't I don't even celebrate Thanksgiving right
Starting point is 00:39:24 but I because I have access and because I can get to things that other people can get to
Starting point is 00:39:31 I go out we go out we go out then and hand it out with it I'll be watching yeah
Starting point is 00:39:36 you know I know you are so it's all about like with our brand We feel as though when you get to a certain, you know, stage in life,
Starting point is 00:39:45 it's your duty. It's your obligation to reach down and pull somebody out the water. Ain't no better feeling that's seeing that face when you bless somebody, though. It's amazing. You know, especially kids. Because I'm still amazed, bro. I ain't playing 11 years. I'm amazing.
Starting point is 00:39:58 When I walk out, people still know why I am. Yeah. That kind of, you know, amazing. But it's the most dominant ever. It's fucking seven. M.D. Yeah. He's seven feet, man.
Starting point is 00:40:07 Yeah. I just try to, you know, make people happy, bro. absolutely and one thing you do is you make a lot of people happy thank you but one thing i admire you for the most is your hustle man because i don't know how many brands you working with but it got to be a hundred and eleven hundred and thirty four because every time i turn the tv on you're the general you know what i learned that he was with tony the tiger man i seen that stand you were tone You know what I learned that from?
Starting point is 00:40:41 Being a basketball player Like for example This is your podcast But that brother Do all the work Don't please don't tell him that shit No but No but like
Starting point is 00:40:55 It's all about the team Really Absolutely I got to tell people all the time No I can't get three without Kobe But guess what Me and Kobe can't get three without Big Shot Bob
Starting point is 00:41:05 Absolutely You can't get three without Rick Fox And Bish y'all So it's about the team So even though on the mainland team, I got some people that's working for me That make my job really easy Absolutely
Starting point is 00:41:14 Like I wake up My bed is my office What I gotta do today Okay, I got my main man Gilly and Rallo And I got the cooking show Then I'm done for today And that's because I got a hell of a team in place
Starting point is 00:41:26 So like if you got a hell of a team in place Things that could be hard It can be broken down into what's easy Like if you don't know me And know how I do it It looked like he all over the place But I got a team And then I'm educated
Starting point is 00:41:38 enough to when something go wrong. How many watches we said last year? Uh-uh. Send me that. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. So, you know, you still have to be educated enough. And I don't micromanage. Like, I can tell you don't micromanage these guys
Starting point is 00:41:51 because they over here on goddamn world start hip-hop while we're doing the best podcast you ever done in your life. Right. Pay attention, man. One thing I like about Manscape, weed whacker. You know, a lot of you've seen me out there. I went and get my nose wax, get the hairs, pull out of my nose. Because, you know, it just, it doesn't be so much going up in there,
Starting point is 00:42:08 Boogie's getting stuck in your nose. The hairs will be irritating you as they grow all different types of sides and all. All that crazy stuff. Once I got the weed wagger, things change because I'm not going to admit. Every time I used to get the hair pulled out my nose or the wax, it just be like, it's like a rip. Your skin is ripping all. But the weed whack, I just put it up there. But no, it'd get a little crazy because it'd be, it'd really be whacking the weeds in my nose.
Starting point is 00:42:34 That's how I'd be because the hairs would be, it'd be cutting. It's cutting down trees in your nose. That's one thing about you want to have your nose clean. You want to have it. I want to have a right. You don't want to have nose hairs all hanging out of your nose when you're on the hot date or wherever you're going. So you need to do what? You need to get with Manscape.
Starting point is 00:42:49 Go to Manscape. com, right? And when you go to use cold millions and we're going to take here, you get 20% off and free shipping at Monscape. When you use cold million, 20% off and free shipping when you use cold million. One thing I like about the weed whacker. And, you know, like I'm going to say this, they poll 79%. 79% admitted that long hair is a major turnoff of women 79% They say long hair is a major turnoff
Starting point is 00:43:13 Think about that You got hair you're talking to how you doing You got a hair coming up and curling over your nose And just sitting here Right here you can't see it But they're like wow you got a forest in his nose Think about that Just imagine having a forest in your nose
Starting point is 00:43:27 You need to get with Manscape.com Use the cold million, get 20% off Get free shipping right now Check it out I'm telling my this is what you really need need. I'm talking about, you know what I mean, you really need that. Take care of your nose here. And it's just like that. How many people you got on your team? Like, I know, Uncle Mike, Uncle Jerome, like like 10. Yeah. So you're cooking show. Before you get into that, because he used to cooking
Starting point is 00:43:51 Joe. Man, you got two things. We both, you know, star athletes, basketball. I mean, you know that. You already, we talked about that. He heard about me. And we both chefs. He hated on that. He can be and him got. Let me ask you a question. If you get. Any type of degree, certificate, any of that in prison. That's why I became a chef. That don't really count, right? That do. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:44:15 I'm with you, right? Thank you. Come on, go, stop that way. That man persevered. Thank you. He made oodles and noodle pasta. That shit good. He didn't have the proper ingredients to be able to be able to leave prison and come to a top flight
Starting point is 00:44:34 restaurant. Listen, do you have the certificate, man? Yeah, man. That's all of my mind. Shout out to my instructor. If you got that degree, you can cook anything from South Philly. Yes. I mean, he was a, he was a chef in the Navy.
Starting point is 00:44:48 I had a top flight instructor that taught me to be great, you know, so, you know. So, okay, so what's your best dish to cook? I don't cook. Oh, so you're not even no top flight chef. No, no, he's a chef. But, hold on, this is what I've done. I want to know how to cook, but I have ADD, I don't feel like reading. So we created some ingredients that's easy to cook.
Starting point is 00:45:09 We got a deep fry oven. You pour the fries in there. You hit fries that does all the work for you. I got another little thing. You put the chicken and you hit chicken. It cooks the chicken for you. Wait, wait. That's some rich ass shit.
Starting point is 00:45:20 But where's this is that? On Shop HQ. Shop H.Q. Yes, yes. Come into stores near you. George Foreman girl about to be out of there. He's done it. He's done.
Starting point is 00:45:33 The ingredients are running in there. But George didn't evolve. You put it in a machine, you hit the button and do all the work for you. Wow. That's dummy proof. Damn. And now, once I help create that, now I can consider myself a chef. So do you got a name for it already?
Starting point is 00:45:49 Yeah. What's the name? The shack cookware. Oh, I just need to know. It could have been something else. Nah. No. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:58 So now, you just, he's a competitor. He's a competitor. He's always picking somebody out to compete with. George and Jordan overhead. Because you know what, George Foreman been moving that work way too long. He went to block. He went to the block.
Starting point is 00:46:13 He went to the lot by his block. Listen. I want his connect. I want his people. I want his thing. He's going to work weeks long without no disturbances. Yeah, so I'm saying. I did see a special other day.
Starting point is 00:46:26 He ran up a bag on that. Now, I want to say this yet. This dude always picking on me because he said I don't spend no money. I'm tight I You know I'll be here Shack
Starting point is 00:46:37 Since he came home From jail He's wore jeans Twice Every day of his life He wear black Adida Swepants
Starting point is 00:46:46 To the point where All his Adida Sweepans I drive Used cars Shack I own my cars They use
Starting point is 00:46:52 He drives A 2010 Prius I saw it I got a And I got a And I got it in a big body Minibank It's not a big body
Starting point is 00:47:00 Men It's a regular 10 It's a big body a big body mini man yeah I put the middle roll in the ground he gets the middle roll in the ground and his middle roll it down
Starting point is 00:47:11 you know I mean so what is it that you want to ask him no I'm just saying he's this is this a smart move how I play I don't spend them I'm with the same thing I don't check don't no I'm just asking me man
Starting point is 00:47:23 business stuff man you got you got some paper because I mean because I need to teach the young ins this what type of paper you need no that's cool right here I see a lot of youngans Floss in their bag on the ground
Starting point is 00:47:34 Cool floss it But Dude told me one time This dude was He told me He said You're rich But I'm wealthy
Starting point is 00:47:43 Because I didn't know the difference And I said What's the difference He said well wealthy is When I die When my kids die When they kids die When they kids die
Starting point is 00:47:54 We're still going to have the same amount And I thought about that Then I said Okay how you do it And he pulled out a piece of paper After he said It ain't about how much you make It's about how much you keep
Starting point is 00:48:05 How many times we've seen Cats would get the bag with a hundred And then they go blow it the same day Now they got to get another hundred So he says you got a hundred dollars You save that That's 50 He said rich people
Starting point is 00:48:21 I say okay I'm saving 50 But he said the wealthy does this You save that This ball out house, chain, car, whatever you want. 75? Save it, yeah. That's what he said.
Starting point is 00:48:38 From here on now. I'm no longer saving 30% of my money. I'm stepping it up to 75 because I'm trying to be wealthy. So you told me that when I was 95 and I did that. And I didn't spend my first NBA check until I started having families. Because I was making so much money and I wasn't that educated. So I was like, I don't want to spend it. I know that.
Starting point is 00:48:57 Right. And like people always say, you got to invest and got invest. still you've got to be educated to know what you're investing in. Right. Like, I always used to try to invest in and get rich quick schemes. How many of them did you? All of them. I fell all of them.
Starting point is 00:49:13 Yo, man, me and Gilly going to do this podcast. We're going to do the Shack and Gilly hats. We're going to sell them online. Give me $100,000 next week I'll bring you a million. Never worked out. But then when I start investing in stuff that's going to change people's lives, because I heard Jeff Bezos say that. He invests in things that's going to change people's life.
Starting point is 00:49:29 That's why he created it. Amazon. Yeah. So then I was like, a lot of kids from my hood need these shoes. Mm-hmm. They need them. I'm going to put a million in.
Starting point is 00:49:40 I'm going to get rid of the 10 million rebuckers paying. I'm going to take a million off the 10 that I got last year. Put it to the shoe company. Let's try. And it works. Right. So when you invest in stuff that people believe, and most of the time it'll come.
Starting point is 00:49:53 But the youth should know that. It ain't about how much you make. It's about how much you keep. Right. Guess what? it could be a day I hope it's not a day I hope you shine
Starting point is 00:50:04 I hope you get your bag forever but it could be a day where the bag stopped absolutely and then what like always when I talk to people I always speak to them from the athletic terms
Starting point is 00:50:14 what makes athletes greatest because we can adjust absolutely if neon d. I run it in this way and the defense is coming out he can adjust so if your bag gets messed up adjust we'll get a new bag
Starting point is 00:50:26 but if you save from the whole bag Yeah. Your adjustment. Absolutely. Your adjustment time is going to be much. Absolutely. A lot easier.
Starting point is 00:50:34 A lot easier. So what he basically saying is when you get the bag, go get a big body minivan. Use 2,010. Some wheels on that thing. Put some bump in that mug and you're straight. I ain't gotten it. I'm still rocking the factory, but it's loud enough. No, my.
Starting point is 00:50:47 Sometimes I use my speaker, my, Bluetooth speaker. That's y'all be bumping. You're here rattling on the door when I put in the door. So I am getting off. So I get that off. I get it off. Y'all, you've been in the big body man. I got the TV that come down in the factory.
Starting point is 00:50:59 Then he won't ride with nobody. Can I give a shout out right quick? Yeah. Go ahead. Shout out to Billy Dance for M.O.P. Yeah, Billy Dance, he played that thing. He played that thing. He just was banging him.
Starting point is 00:51:08 Like, I like, I like music. Yeah. And I'm from the East Coast. So the first time I said, I'm going to start listening to other stuff, it really opened up. So I was, look, I was East Coast all day. Then I moved down to Texas, and I'm riding with this girl, and she played this DJ Quick Cat. Yeah. I'm like, it sounds.
Starting point is 00:51:29 different but it's bump it right right then NWA come out they're hard I like it so then I go Louisiana and you see the young cash money and no limit all like so I just then you call Atlanta and JD got out I just love music it's like it's like looking at women it's just
Starting point is 00:51:47 it's just so much of a different beautiful variety and I try to I try not to oh he wacky this he that because some of the songs that we don't like you have to hear in the club Yeah, they go stupid. Like, I ain't going to lie. Old Town Road when I first heard it.
Starting point is 00:52:02 It was crazy. But I was in the club one day. I was like, it was banging. Yeah, exactly. I was like, I guess I have to change my perspective. Because like, look, we all hear. We like lyrics and beats and all that, but these kids like stuff that they could TikTok to. I try not to, you know, jump on them.
Starting point is 00:52:19 Who's your top five artists of all time? I want to do that because I know people. So I'm going to break it down in basketball terms. Which conference you want first. Eastern or the Western. East Coast. The Eastern. East Coast.
Starting point is 00:52:34 At the five, I got big. At the four, he's a stretch four. I got Jiggeman. At the three, he's a power three, Draymond Green type three. Buster Rhimes. At the two, I got I know he's from the West Coast, but he was born in New York.
Starting point is 00:52:54 I got to go with Pock. Absolutely. And after one, Rockin. I like Rakim, but I got to go. I probably got to go with Nas. Nice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:07 Now you want to go to the West Coast? Let's go to South. West Coast. At the one, I got Ice Cube. Big, strong AI type point guard. At the two, he's long and lanky, Kevin Duran. I got Snoop. I got three.
Starting point is 00:53:23 I got 40 water. 40. I have four. So it gets tough here. Help me out. Dr. Dre. Dr. Dre. What about Kendrick in game, though?
Starting point is 00:53:36 Yeah. Game probably at the four and probably Kendrick at the five. I'm a small team. South. Small runners and gunners. Which South? Southwest or South? The South.
Starting point is 00:53:47 Atlanta side. Atlanta, Charlotte, all the day. I'm not familiar with all those guys. Like, I don't want to, like, you know, disrespect it because I'm only going to comes to South, I only remember JD and, you know, a couple of them cats, Brad, a couple of them cats, but, like, they got some new cats that I'm hearing the music,
Starting point is 00:54:04 but I don't really know. Like the baby, a little baby, them is my dudes. They hot. Travis Scott. Traff from Houston, right? Look, I've been to a lot of shows. I ain't never seen no show like the one Travis Scott, the biggest show I've been to was the Dr. Dre up and smoked tour.
Starting point is 00:54:21 Oh, unbelievable. I came around the back. Unbelievable. I'm looking at this poster right here. That's how many people of us. I did something with Travis Scott and Austin. Bro, I never seen him in people. And he had that moment with rocking.
Starting point is 00:54:33 Yeah. So big ups to him. What's the biggest show you DJed at? Probably $100,000, Lollapalooza. God damn. You sent me some videos. And I told you when it opened back up or you do want it, oh, yeah, I got you.
Starting point is 00:54:45 I got you. And see, like, even with the DJ thing, I'm losing money doing that, but it ain't about that. So for 10 years, I missed the, I missed the, I missed, that. Like, going out, Shaggart, that's cool, but that don't give me the same effect as going
Starting point is 00:55:01 to the Philly Arena. All your Philly homies turning on you for that night. Charlie McAnallon, boys, think you're going to lose. That right there, that's what getting me going on. You know, I'm going to kill them. Yeah, so, like, when I go to do the DJ thing, it's $100,000. It's just that bring that rush back. That game seven, I need it.
Starting point is 00:55:18 Game seven, down by one. I'm glad you. Yes. How many people do you think, as far as rappers, athletes, actors, just entertainers all the way around the board is missing that they all miss it. That game seven.
Starting point is 00:55:34 They all miss it. They all miss it. Because even with the game seven, it only happens some of the time, not all the time. Right. Right. So this ain't something. I can't DJ every day. Like when I'm down or whatever, whatever, if I get that it just because like when I used to do shows,
Starting point is 00:55:50 I used to have my shows already programmed. Like that ain't. So now I've got to look at the crowd. Yeah. Okay. So now you're, so now you're, You're a real DJ. Yes, I'm like, okay, white boys. Hit him with some white boys. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:56:00 Oh, okay, a little homie over there with the braids. He ain't smiled at me. Like, I'm able to, like, do that. And that's the same thing in the game. And people downgrade the art of filling out the crowd as a DJ. That's an art. And that's what I used to do in the game. So let's just say, like, I give a nice move on the Kimbeck and I'm looking at
Starting point is 00:56:18 Rallo and he got this crazy look like he gets a little bit. Next play that out, I'm going to do something crazy, and I'm going to be looking straight to Rallo. What? Because I want Rolol a little go. yeah and until he do that I'm like don't go on to Kenbay every time and then look again
Starting point is 00:56:30 and then look again and you know like if he's just doing that I'm like okay what are we going to run and play for court no no no no throw me the ball throw me the ball and I don't look at him
Starting point is 00:56:40 and until I get Rallo or the one person I'm looking at to acknowledge me I ain't going to let up so okay so let me ask you this question as far as what's the
Starting point is 00:56:51 what's the craziest situation you ever had in a locker room I don't have to knock a couple people out. And they tried you? No, it's just that you've got to realize it can only be one chief.
Starting point is 00:57:07 And this chief, if we don't win, it's going to be my fault. Right. I accept that. Right. But I need you to do certain things. Because everything has to be in line, right?
Starting point is 00:57:20 Right. And sometimes that work, sometimes it didn't. So a couple of cats I had to touch up, let him know. Was you as bad as Mike? Probably. So pretty much. Probably.
Starting point is 00:57:35 Who do you knockout, Shaq? No, he ain't talking about you. I'm saying that. He like, uh... Yeah, I don't want to do that. Stanley Roberts, when we're just back. I don't want to do that. But even with a young fella, I knew that once you get him mad, he's going to be like me.
Starting point is 00:57:53 Yeah. Did you ever purposely Like All the time He's playing like shit I gotta get him No one he never played like shit But
Starting point is 00:58:00 Well you have off games sometimes Well listen I did eight years I played with him One off game Ain't nothing to talk about But I knew if I riled him up And guess what
Starting point is 00:58:11 He knew the same thing And that worked to our favor Like people always say What would you do different And I had to say nothing And y'all brothers How many times Brothers came to blues
Starting point is 00:58:21 I know it had to happen But guess what the disrespect was never lost. Because I always tell people, okay, y'all think we had beef, right? After I won the first championship, who ran and jumped a mom's? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:32 When he spread, spring, his ankle couldn't walk from the bus to the locker room, who carried him? Right. Like, I got a little brother, cousin. We do this all the time. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:58:40 That's life. So people always say, what would you do different? I wouldn't do nothing different because we won three out of four. Right. I ain't the smartest guy, but that's 75%.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Absolutely. That's, give me a piece of paper. Yeah, right. You're rip it. You don't rip it again. Keep that much. I got a question, though. If y'all stayed together for 10 years more.
Starting point is 00:59:03 That couldn't happen. And let me tell you why. At some point, the steward must get rid of the master to become the master. So I understand the business. That's what I'm saying? I'm able to just be like, okay, like, look, it was his turn to shine by himself. Absolutely. He was tired of being robin.
Starting point is 00:59:21 It was his time to shine. And then, so. You know, management, look, management like, they like young people. I was getting older, but they still owe me a bag. It was like, okay, we want to give you the bag, but by the time the bag end up, you're going to be $39.40. We don't want to be in a hole that day. So they wanted to do something different. And then again, you said, too, that you didn't work as hard as you was supposed to.
Starting point is 00:59:43 Do you think you and Colbe have a beef because of that? My thing is, who I'm working out for? Damn. I mean, who I got to work out for what? Yeah. Like, the way I prepare is the way I prepare. Right. Like, COVID is a different animal.
Starting point is 00:59:59 Yeah. And everybody's not on that type of... That's what he do. Right. That's not what I do. That's not what you do. I have to wake up, make sure the baby's all right. Make sure the business is going.
Starting point is 01:00:10 Then I'll work. Then I'll play. Some guys is work, work, work, work, work. I commend them for that. But I don't need to work, work, work, work, work for who? Right. I love that. I'm, because one, if you, like, and then I've seen a lot of people that work, work, work, work, with no heart, they can't play.
Starting point is 01:00:27 Right. My heart, like, I'm, I can look at a cat and I already say what I'm going to do. Because when you play basketball, you always got this guy on every team. It look good. He don't miss in practice. Yeah, you don't. I'm talking about he don't miss in practice. Shout out of Dan Robinson played in college with me.
Starting point is 01:00:43 Never missed. He didn't miss in practice, but when the game started, he didn't make nothing. Everybody does something different. So you guys got one of the best. podcast, right? Right. Out of them been to other podcasts, they got the professional set up. Right.
Starting point is 01:00:56 I'm not saying that y'all stuff's not professional, but y'all stuff look better than them, so everybody works different. Absolutely. They get the way they got to go. Absolutely. I ain't working out nine hours of day. For what? For who?
Starting point is 01:01:05 Hour. My thing was, you got the average 28 big dog, and the players, you got to average 40. Please, can you look in that camera? I don't want you to specifically talk to Joelle and B, but I want you to talk to every big man in Lee, especially Joel and B., then tell them that you are not. Not a dominant center in the NBA, if you don't average, 28 points at least to talk to him. That's seven. That's three jump hooks and one free throw quarter.
Starting point is 01:01:31 So we get on him on T&T a lot, right? And a lot of these youngsters think we'd be jumping on them. But if they take this sensitivity button out, they know I'm giving them the answers to the test. I'm showing you how to be great. Joe, like, yo, when I say you should be dominating, I'm not picking on you, I'm just telling you. If somebody giving you the answers. to the test. No, no, no, somebody
Starting point is 01:01:53 Let you know that's a professor. I'm a professor in that. Like, I can't talk to Steph Curry and shoot all that. But when it comes to being a diamond big man, I know what the hell I'm talking about. Right. So, like, he came back and said, well, I don't want to be Shaq. I don't want you to be me.
Starting point is 01:02:08 I don't want you to be better than me. Right. You just want you to be dominant. Yes, because you have more skills. When you get the ball in the posting, you got somebody six, five on you, there's nothing to think about. I'm going to tell you, it's BC time. Barbecue chicken.
Starting point is 01:02:23 Yep. That's it. So, but, you know, I try to, I try to talk to a minute. You haven't been swept in the playoffs? I mean, you ever been swept in the playoffs? Yeah, all the time. Like, my first five, six times I got swept. You got swept? Yeah, and then I read a quote.
Starting point is 01:02:36 So I shouldn't feel that bad that we got swept last year? No. All right. Last time I got swept, my fraternity brother put his hand on my shoulder, the best play in the world. He said, hey, man, before you succeed, you must first learn to fail. Because Jordan was getting his ass with. Yeah, Jordan told me that after Orlando. I mean, after we beat them a year before, went to the finals.
Starting point is 01:02:57 Then they came back next year. Then they came back. Yeah, he told me that. And that was the summer that I decided to go to L.A. So it happens, but it can only make you stronger or make you weaker. All right, who are you picking? You regular ball. You picking me a Gil.
Starting point is 01:03:13 Oh, I got to pick Gil. What kind of question is there? I'm strong in the paint. Like, what kind of question is that? You were picking him. He ain't got no one. He let the penitentiary in files. He went to the neighborhood college, man.
Starting point is 01:03:25 He didn't go to November. I'm picking. I'm picking Chauncee Gillips. Give me what. I'll tell you what. I'm watching his page one day. And he out there with some cat. They betting.
Starting point is 01:03:39 He shoot the three. No, I think it was from half court. His foot was on the line. Oh, boy, saw his foot was on the line. They argued a little bit. Gil grabbed the ball again and said, no, I was right here. and shot it and made it again.
Starting point is 01:03:51 And then he grabbed the ball two more times and shot the same shot and made it. From half court. That's Chauncee Gillips. Chonty Gillips. What's respect on my name? That's all I'm going to tell you. I saw that.
Starting point is 01:03:59 You ain't seen when we cooked the young boys out there? I have my legacy. No, I saw that too. But guess what he tried to run with you? Shaquille Loneil. I wouldn't let him do it. I wouldn't let him do it. I wouldn't let him put no muscle on your jacket.
Starting point is 01:04:13 Lowell. Lowell. Lowell. He tried to know he tried to kill with Shaquille, Lowell. No, I like that. See? He tried to see with Shaquille, Lowe, Mill. I can't do that.
Starting point is 01:04:19 He can let him do that. He never got a rebound on coast to coast in his life. I use you, though, though, though, so you can't use that. No, that don't count. That don't count. He played in the NFL, yeah, that's who, meek, yeah, meek, yeah. That's him? Yeah, that's meek, yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:33 It's cool. We're happy to. I'm just, I'll just play. I'll just say it happens to the best of it. I'll just say it happens to the best of it. No, look, because I asked him when we had dinner, I said, look, man, I know you'll be joking about, But was that story real? That shit was definitely real.
Starting point is 01:04:49 Yeah, he went to prison and all that. It happened to. Hey, you know what's funny? When we first met back in the day in the club in New Orleans, that joint was with me. That was the show that I was messing with back then. That's crazy as a motherfucker. I'm sorry to hear that.
Starting point is 01:05:02 Yeah. Because, you know, he'd be real big with the real estate. He'd come on the show and he get a game, you know, the game about real estate. I know who he makes. Yeah. I know who is. He helped people make money.
Starting point is 01:05:13 Who's awesome. He's shining to it. I'm on. I'm going to be with Shaq, man. I've got to come to record. This is my brother, man. Absolutely. I'm shy to me.
Starting point is 01:05:22 I'm shyna too. Do you have a new girlfriend now? No, I've been chilling, man. I've been really focused on rebuilding a couple years ago. Like you said, I was in jail over the domestic violence situation. So I really refocused myself and went back into the community. That's why I told you I had a lot of respect, just watching what you do as far as giving back. Because that's really what I put a heavy focus on, just.
Starting point is 01:05:45 trying to empower and uplift the community with awareness and then the real estate game. So Gil was talking about the ronal proof. I'm heavy on teaching people just those steps to get paid in real estate. And another thing I never do is I never looked down on brothers that make mistakes. Like this man was just vulnerable and, like, I wouldn't
Starting point is 01:06:01 ask whether he was just vulnerable and you know, say why he went in. So it's good that we always got to, you know, uplift and, you know, take care of each other. And that's what we do we on this show. And I'm proud of you, brother. We understand people make mistakes. I use it to really uplift other people because
Starting point is 01:06:14 it's a lot of young brothers that they get in relationships or whatever something go left and they think the first thing they can do is put their hands and connect on somebody and i had to learn the hard way that would it did to my life but you know now i use that to empower and bring awareness to situations that we see daily believe that so man we want to we want to send a big shout out to the big homie you got anything that you want to throw out there and let the people know man i just want to know i love y'all too i appreciate you all i appreciate y'all for keeping it a thousand all the time Shout out to all the youngsters out there that's trying to make it.
Starting point is 01:06:49 And we only want the best for y'all. That's all. Like when we're telling y'all stuff, it may sound like we're coming at y'all, but if you turn up the button, we give me your own information. Turn off that button. Turn off that sensitivity button, man. Because we realize that you guys are the future. If you want to get to this age where you can do your own podcast and talk about, you know,
Starting point is 01:07:07 because it's another good thing about generations is they keep coming. Absolutely. So we're going to teach y'all. We want you all to teach them. and just stay up and look man we got to we got to start
Starting point is 01:07:18 putting these straps down though put them down we're gonna start what I mean worst kind of words have a conversation or you know
Starting point is 01:07:26 have one of your big homies in the middle and you're just man talking out and that's funny that's what King Vaughn said
Starting point is 01:07:32 you know rest of peace of King Vaughn but on the podcast last week he said a lot of the problems could be could just be talked out but people don't know
Starting point is 01:07:40 how to talk to reactionary And even if you don't know how to talk, think about the money. Right. Like, for example, me and you got problems, I'm going to call you, and we're going to talk, and then I'm going to be like, you know what, it ain't that serious. How can we get some money? Yes, how can you get some money?
Starting point is 01:07:56 Yeah. Let me get some money. Gil, Gil, Gil, Gil, and Gil's team versus Shaq team. Oh, shit. Ralo and Gil had to follow. Rollo's point going on. Like, I just, just, you know. He said, I was point going to do something to Philly.
Starting point is 01:08:12 So, just. I love y'all youngsters, man You know, you're going to keep your head up. Hey, man. And the next time you'll call me up here. Mone ain't up here? We promise you're going to be here. We're never doing that again.
Starting point is 01:08:22 Hey, Mona. What is it? DeMona. DeMona. Hey, Tomona. Tomona. Is she Spanish? No, she's not Spanish.
Starting point is 01:08:30 Nehamo el Padrino Negro. The mama! So you said you came out with Harold Minor. What year was that? I'll forget, man, because I had, when I got the concussion, no, no, no, no, no, when I got the concussion. Because the bull on elbow back out of the concussion, I cut my ACL. Just for the people who don't know what Shaq talk about off-camera,
Starting point is 01:08:47 he'd line to Shaq, yeah, because you know back in the guy I used to play, I came out with Harold Minor. So Shaq said, oh, do you? He was like, I'm 41. Shaq was like, Harold Minus my age. Yes, he came out with me. He was a bad boy. He tried to redouble back.
Starting point is 01:08:59 No, I was playing with the ones at a playground. Before we go, top five Philly rappers. Gillie, Beanie, Meek, Freeway You're not on the list You're a neighborhood You ain't made it out of the neighborhood Oh, okay
Starting point is 01:09:16 Will Smith You're disrespected right now Who, who? Say something You don't hear that music You don't hear that song In your hair right now Who, who you got it
Starting point is 01:09:30 The Glamour is like Who You got it What's your story I am Before you go Because he said he's a history. I'm a history. I want to say this.
Starting point is 01:09:41 You always showing OT the real love. Who? O.T. the real. Oh, yeah. No, he's hot. Yeah, he'd be spitting. Listen, man, if you, like, another thing I don't have a problem doing. I don't have a problem saying you're hot.
Starting point is 01:09:53 You don't have no problem showing a love. Because you know why? Cost nothing. But not only that. Like, let's just think this table is money. I can't make all this money. Right. I can do this.
Starting point is 01:10:03 And if I can help you get like this. Man, he's hot. Right. I love him. He hot. Shout out to him. May God continue to bless you. Okay, just before we get out of it,
Starting point is 01:10:11 I don't want to hold Shaq too long, but you say you're a hip hop historian. He say he is a hip hop historian. Ask him a question that he can't answer about hip hop. What group was Cool Keith in? Cool Keith. Testisthenics. No.
Starting point is 01:10:27 Ultra magnetic MCs. It was close. I told you, let you tell you. Oh, Shack. You let him get that. Hold on. Hold on. One and nothing.
Starting point is 01:10:36 Who was the first to do this? Dougie first No, the skinny boys Oh One No one Let's go Yeah, go ahead
Starting point is 01:10:47 Who created gangster rat Well it's a lot of controversy behind that DJ quick says he started at first School E D Philly D He did Okay All right now
Starting point is 01:11:02 Come on Okay two to one Who was the first to talk about I got a member's name before I say it. All right, another question. Who is the original four members of Tribe Call Quest? Got it. Hold on, hold up, hold on.
Starting point is 01:11:25 Ali Shahi Mohammed. Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! What? Fight dog. K-tip. Yep. Aaliyahe Maha'amah was... Okay, that's three.
Starting point is 01:11:42 Score is two to two. His name was Jairobi. Oh, I am. Oh, let's go. Two to two. Come on to five. All right, finish the round. You want to front what?
Starting point is 01:11:54 You want a front one? You want a front one? Don't go up, dig it, buck. Oh, you got, you got, you got, you got, you got, you got it. Finish the rhyme. Come, get some. You little bum I gave the check

Starting point is 01:12:47 I get lifted. Okay. Hold on. They need two historians right now. This is coming down and it's right here. All right, let's go. Let's see. Oh, I was very good.
Starting point is 01:13:06 I'm glad I ain't say that because he'd got me. All right. It's! Yeah, that's not enough. Come on. It's not enough. It's not enough. It's.
Starting point is 01:13:17 It's time to get. Lile. No, no, no. He messed up. That's honest. No, man, he messed up. Come on, man, you can't. I mean, I know that.
