Starting point is 00:00:00 When I got a great deal on a great gift at Winners, I started wondering, could I get fabulous gifts for everyone on my list? Like this designer fragrance for my daughter. At just $39.99, how could I resist? This luxurious will throw for my sister. This gold watch for my partner? A wooden puzzle for my niece? Leather gloves for my boss?
Starting point is 00:00:19 Ooh, European chocolate for the crossing guard? At these prices, could I find something for everyone at Winners? Stop wondering. Start gifting. Winners, find fabulous for less. You're listening to the Vox Media Podcast Network. It's up, y'all. We are back for another edition of No Betts Bard. Coming at you a little later this week, I'll explain why in just a minute.
Starting point is 00:00:53 But we're here. UFC Macau, 309 is in the books. Of course, we will start off by doing a brief recap of what we just, you know, coming off of how we did. Spoiler alert. Not a bad little weekend. Not amazing. Not terrible. And then it's on to Macau before we get a much needed for me,
Starting point is 00:01:14 deserved for all of us break as we head into Thanksgiving. It won't entirely be a break. You still have a show next week. The NFL is happening next week. But at least a brief reprie from the continuous onslaught of the UFC card. Thanks for, you know, bearing with me. I know this is coming out not on our usual Wednesday, but the aftermath of 309 was obviously.
Starting point is 00:01:40 it wasn't just 3.09. It was Paul Tyson. That was a big week. And so a lot of things have been happening. And I took a couple of days off to get there. And also, I will be frank. This card is, it's not the best. U.S.C. Macau has some highlights. And the main event is exceptional. I'm excited to talk about it. But a lot of road you have seen matchups, tournament settlements. And just reasonable, like, realistically, I don't have a lot of action this week. I have, broadly speaking, like four bets, a couple of parles, gimmick parlays, things like that. But not a ton of value that I saw on the card. And just sort of one of those weird ones that we get from the UFC periodically and certainly
Starting point is 00:02:24 when they're doing the road to UFC thing. So in light of that, didn't get a guest kind of, there's probably going to be the shortest episode in a hot minute. So I hope you'll stick around anyway because, like I said, the main event's sick. and some other things to talk about. But first, let us recap UFC 309 very briefly. We won't have to spend a ton of time on it. John Jones successfully defends the heavyweight championship against Deep Mietich.
Starting point is 00:02:52 If I look exactly like everyone thought it would, not really much to talk about. The call-main event, it's not a ton to talk about there. Either Charles Olivero takes a unanimous decision over Michael Chandler, both more competitive and less competitive than their first outing, more competitive because it did go to the cards, less competitive because Oliver was just beating him pillar to post until the fifth round when Chandler started cheating, aggressively cheating,
Starting point is 00:03:19 and almost got a win out of it. So you know what I always say, kids, you ain't cheating, you ain't trying. Bo Nickel picks up a lackluster win. Viviani Arrucho takes a very close win over Corrinez Silva. Maricio Huffy takes a decision over Yamis Lontop. And that was really the card. A couple of highlights, Jim Miller getting a dub. We always love to see Jim Miller do big things.
Starting point is 00:03:42 But 309 was meh. And the night before, Jake Paul Mike Tyson was a disaster in a lot of ways. Netflix, we've talked a lot about it, had numerous issues. The main event was a really, really terrible watch. None of this should be a surprise. We talked extensively about it. Co-main event was amazing. You know, there's absolutely nothing that can be said about Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, too, that hasn't already been said.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Fight ruled a lot of cheating in that fight too, frankly, but I hope they do it again. But our recap on the week, another winning week, just a little over a unit, not a major win. And realistically, the win came entirely due to the Jake Paul fight. I told you guys as a show, Jake Paul is the biggest bet I had made since. no kind way to say it since blowing my entire bankroll on valentina shivchenko against lexigrosso the first time around uh easily the biggest bet i've made since then uh and i frankly wish i'd put more certainly in the aftermath um but got him at minus 200 so a a tidy profit was made on on friday and it didn't really matter how saturday went which is good because saturday didn't go too hot i did pop jim miller
Starting point is 00:05:04 as an underdog, and Edward Mara as an underdog, but missed all my other underdog shots. I was taking a lot of them. But the most important thing, the climb does continue. Version 3.0 of the climb. We had two down last week. Katie Taylor and Minnesota goes to Decision. That leg cash, though, it was a little hairy there with that cut at points of time. And then Jonathan Dwight Jones caches as well.
Starting point is 00:05:28 So we are three steps up on the climb ladder as we make. our push to 30 consecutive bets in a row. Yeah, and we've got another climb piece this week. Of course, probably a silly one, but let's, you know, that's enough of the recap. Let's dive right into UFC Macau because we don't need to spend eight years talking about this fight guard. We could spend a lot of time talking about that main event, though, because the main event, this Friday evening, Saturday morning here in the United States,
Starting point is 00:06:05 former Bannamweight champion, Piotr-Yon taking on former flyweight champion, Davis and Figuero. Yon currently installed as your betting favorite, minus 300. Come back on Figgi, round plus 240. Obviously, those numbers fluctuate book to book. And, I mean, let's start here.
Starting point is 00:06:25 I love this fight. Jan is, I still believe Yon is one. the very best band of weights in the world, but he's on a really tough run right now. He's lost three of five. The Al Jemade Stirling fight, obviously, Sean O'Malley, which I thought he won, but a very, very close fight, and then clearly lost to Murad de Vailashvili. You know, we're talking about the three guys that are at the top of the division. Well, two of them, obviously Al Jio no longer there, but three of three of the best bandwights in the world. So there's no real shame in that, particularly when the first Aljo fight went how it went.
Starting point is 00:06:59 Even the second Aljo fight, some people made the argument, Yon won. I did not agree with that argument. Certainly, like I said, I thought he beat O'Malley. Just a really tough scene here for where Yon's career is gone. Because this is a dude who very, very recently, we're like, he is going to be the guy. When he won the belt, he is going to be the guy to bring a long-reaning, stable championship to this weight class. And it just hasn't rolled out. and conversely,
Starting point is 00:07:28 Figgie sort of tapped that way at flyweight as well. He was the guy who was going to save the division after Suhudo left and kind of did, like frankly, just kind of built interest, got people interested, but then he had that tetrology with Brandon Moreno and ultimately ended up losing the belt at the end of it,
Starting point is 00:07:47 bumped up to Bantamweight and has looked amazing. Three and a host sense coming off a win over Cheeto Vera in Abu Dhabi earlier this year and is right on the cusp of a title shot I have made no secret that I don't I don't really care for how Marab has handled his championship thus far the UFC clearly wants him to fight
Starting point is 00:08:11 Umar he pretty clearly does not want to and while I would hate that in general the part that really bugs me is that on the night that he won the belt he quickly said I don't know I think I think Davis and Figaro may deserve a title shot And he has kind of quickly gotten away from that. And that's the best argument to me because Figgi does arguably deserve a title shot over
Starting point is 00:08:33 Umar right now. I don't think it's set in stone, but I think there is an argument. And if he wins this fight this weekend, if he beats Piotr at Macau, I think unquestionably Davidson Figueroero is the more deserving title challenger. And so Marab should be hyping this fight up. Maraub should want Figgi to win this fight so we can get a matchup that pretty clearly he would prefer over the humor matchup. Will that happen?
Starting point is 00:08:59 I don't know. Figgi, obviously, a really big underdog. I will say he's five and one as a betting underdog. So the man cashes tickets when Vegas doesn't believe in him. And Jan is, you know, nine and four is a favorite. He's basically a favorite in every fight he has. And so when he has lost, as I mentioned, a fair amount lately. And it is a, that's a bit of a tough scene for him as, you know, when it comes to
Starting point is 00:09:24 a betting thing. Ultimately, I think that this fight should favor him, though. It is five rounds is the main event. Piotr Yan, I made this argument years and years ago. Piotr Yan is a five-round fighter. And the reason Sean O'Malley could beat him is in a three-round fight, Jan is just less dangerous because he usually loses the first round. He's a kind of a slow starter, and he builds, he builds, he builds. And as you give him more time, his particular brand of fighting is almost always going to be more effective over 25 minutes and 15. Against the guy like Marab, who also is just that indefatigable cardio, okay, that's going to be tough.
Starting point is 00:10:06 But against Figgie Smalls, who has had some cardio questions in the past, not like major, but he has tended to slow a little bit as fights go on. He is certainly a much older person, even upper weight class without as much of a weight cut. I think pretty clearly the championship rounds favor, Piotrion. And I think everything else really does too. Jan, I know Mara had a lot of success. Jan is very difficult to take down. And the secret sauce to Figgi's run has been his ability to employ his grappling as well.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Yes, he still packs power even at Bantamwe. But he can mix things up. He can be a full, well-rounded mixed martial artist. And Piotr Yan, I think, is better in all these regards. Maybe Figgi can get a takedown. I don't think he's going to get repeated takedowns on him. It is very difficult to take Jan down, as I mentioned. And I think as the fight goes on, Jan's volume is just going to keep ticking up, ticking up, ticking up.
Starting point is 00:10:59 And I am not certain that Figgi has the one-shot power to really change the dynamics against Yan in a way he has against other people, kind of shift the calculus a bit. And so I think Jan's cleaner boxing, I think his cardio advantage, I think his tactical advantage, certainly his fights go on. And he makes more reads, gets better at knowing where he wants to go. I am still a big believer in Piotr Yan, as one of the best. band-wates in the world. And so I am taking him to win this fight. And it'll be no surprise. He is in a parley. He's not my climb candidate this week, though I very, very, very strongly considered it.
Starting point is 00:11:35 I have instead tucked him into a parlay with a woman I will speak of next because the co-main of it is a women's strawweight contest between former title challenger Jan Jow Nan and Tabitha Ritchie Baby Shark. And for people who've listened to this pod a long time and know my work, you know where I'm going with this guys it's time for a gimmick there is nothing i love more in this world than a gimmick parley and piota yon yan yan jian jana once upon a time i had the three yon parley it was peter yon jana jan jane and yon bohovitch uh that parley failed we're hoping that this time it succeeds because i am backing jang non in this gimmick parley um she is five and one is a betting favorite ritchie has never won as an underdog and yon is the favorite right now minus one ninety
Starting point is 00:12:23 come back on Ritchie plus 165. Certainly some concerns here. Jan has not competed since losing her title shot against Wiley Zhang at UFC 300. Thought she both performed well and poorly, right? Like early on looked better than I thought she would, but then sort of just kind of had nothing really for the grappling in the offense that Wiley brought to bear.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Ritchie's on a bit of a heater two in a row, though I think her win over Tisha Pendington was pretty constant. It was a split D and a lot of people thought that Tisha Pennington should have won that. No real question about the Angela Hill win. You know, given sort of where they're at, Ritchie a little bit younger, Ritchie certainly has grappling chops. If she can sort of replicate Wiley's success, then okay. But I think Yon's a lot bigger. I think Yon has probably showed enough ability against Wiley, who is a much better wrestler and take down artists than Ritchie to feel confident her ability.
Starting point is 00:13:23 to keep this up on the feet and sort of just win on points. And who knows, she's, she's even shown a little bit of power. Maybe she can draw reaching and get something going that way, but pretty straightforward, a little, it's a little yon parlay for us. Moving on,
Starting point is 00:13:40 the feature bout of the evening, a welterweight contest between Song-Kanan and Muslim Salikov. Song is coming off of, that win over Ricky Glenn at UFC 305, a couple months back, and Salikov is coming off a split decision win against Santiago Ponzanibio that I think most people thought he lost and frankly would have three losses in a row had he lost that and lost four or five. Salikov is in a spot where he simply has not been performing well lately. He is on a bad run and so a bit of a question about is he just done now.
Starting point is 00:14:21 And it's very, very possible that that is true. Being said, it is really tough to feel super confident in Song Kanan. He's just had a really up and down career. He's only six and four in the promotion. Like I said, I think Salikov is pretty clearly on the decline, but Song Kanan was never that good. And so it's, to me, this is absolutely a dog or pass. I have yet to take the dog shot. I may just do it simply because I don't have a lot of action.
Starting point is 00:14:51 fight card. It would spice things up a little bit. And I do think he's a little bit undervalued. It's just whether he's undervalued enough to be like mathematically worth it. And I don't know. I think you could do a lot worse than betting on Song Canaan as an underdog, but maybe I'm also just a little gun shy. I took like eight underdog bets last week and two of them cash. So right now I have no action, but I do think this is a song can honor pass. And maybe certainly if the line keeps moving, the line moves more towards Salakoff, where I can get song at plus 180, and I'll jump on it.
Starting point is 00:15:25 But at 155 or so, I think I'm going to stay away for now. Moving on to a women's flyweight contest, and ladies and gentlemen, this is where I'm going to preemptively apologize. From this moment forward, basically, there are a lot of fighters who I am probably going to butcher their names.
Starting point is 00:15:43 I've done my best, and I hope to succeed here, but, you know, if I screw it up, Don't take what I'm saying is gospel. And if I screwed up, I sincerely apologize. No harm is intended. But Wang Kong taking on Gabriela Fernandez, Kong, a minus 800 betting favorite.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Fernandez, a plus 550, one of the biggest underdogs on the card. Both have functionally, I think they both fought once in the UFC before. Kong is somebody with some heat tour. Obviously, you would imagine that, given the price, right? But Sikhs know in her career, a world champion Sonda kickboxer. And famously, the reason people know her, the reason she is famous, she has a win over Valentina Shepchenko in kickboxing. And then she made her UFC debut this summer and had like a one-minute knockout of Victoria Leonardo. It's Victoria Leonardo, but still one-minute knockout.
Starting point is 00:16:42 Those are always going to impress sort of regardless, in particular, at Women's Flyweight. this I mean we know what this fight is this should be a set up fight for her I am I am not certain that Fernandez is UFC level no she's a former LFA champion but she's one and two in the UFC and by my count she should be oh and three I do not think she deserved to be Carly Judice in June um I thought she just should have lost that split decision and so this should be a set up fight for Kong to come in again impress maybe frankly maybe If over the next year and a half as flyweight shakes out, if Schifchenko is still holding the belt, maybe they try an Alex Pereira, Kong, and get her into a, oh, we've got a backstory here. She's got to win over, over Shvchenko. I'm not sure Shetchenko will hold the belt still, but if she does, I could absolutely see them trying to make something like that happen. That being said, I don't think you can bet this fight. You just can't bet one con at these odds. Minus 800 for someone with six career fights is a pretty, insane line. So a firm pass for me. And we move to the light heavyweight division where Volcan Ozedemir takes on Carlos Olberg. Ulberg, a sizable favorite, minus 235, Ozdemer, plus 200 as an underdog. Ozdemier is sort of a perennially underrated, even by me. Not that long ago, me and A.K. had a knockdown, drag out argument about Osteemir not being very good. And then he, you know, goes and picks up a couple of big wins.
Starting point is 00:18:17 back in our rankings of light heavyweight. And that's sort of his lot in life. He's better than you think he is, but he's not good enough to really remember him when you're thinking of like top 15 guys. But Oostomere just sort of has perennially been one of those. Over conversely is a guy who came in with a ton of hype, lost his U.S. debut against Kenny Nunchucks,
Starting point is 00:18:39 and then immediately has rattled off six straight with five finishes. You know, he's part of that team city kickboxing. where people are super into him. He is a flashy, exciting, light, heavyweight in a division that is barren of people to be super interested in. Ulberg, he has gravitas. He has people wanting him to be good,
Starting point is 00:19:01 in part because it would be great to have a new contender in the weight class, who is good. I'm not sure he's there yet, but I think this is the correct sort of matchup to gauge. Okay. Ozedemir's gatekeeper to the top 10 functionally. If you beat him, you are a legitimate contender,
Starting point is 00:19:17 and I think, you know, coming off of knocking out Alonzo Mendefield, I want to see where Alberg is. I think this is a good litmus test. The question with that litmus test is I truly do not know if Oldberg is there. We saw him get John by Kenny Nunchuk, drawled by Kenny Nunchukes. Kenny Nunchex isn't great fighter, though I like him. Ozdemir has power. Sort of has proven to be this kind of dude to pick up wins or maybe you wouldn't anticipate him.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Five and four is an underdog. So, you know, it's hard for me to trust Ulberg at this price. I don't really trust owes to me at this price. What I ultimately did decide, and part of this, I'll be transparent with y'all. I wanted to have a little more action than I have on this card because I do not have a lot, as I mentioned. And maybe if this were a more robust card, if I had plenty of other bets, I might stay away from this one, but I liked it enough, and it will give me something in a fight that I'm interested in, it will give me a rooting interest, which is I've taken the fight does not go to decision.
Starting point is 00:20:19 It's minus 175 as what I got the price for the prop. And you're talking about two dudes who largely create knockouts. Like I said, Alberg is five finishes in his last six fights. They're going to come in. There's not going to be any grappling to this. They're just going to throw mitts and both have been knocked out and certainly pack power. So I'm just going to see, again, I don't feel massively confident. This is not a bet your house.
Starting point is 00:20:44 There's not a climb contender, but it is a, I think this will happen. It'll be a fun bet to half down. I love to bet. Betting unders is much more exciting than betting overs. But buddy, we'll get to those overs later. Don't you worry. And that takes us to our final fight of the main card. Zhang Mingyang versus Ozzy Diaz in a light heavyweight contest as well.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Zhang is minus 280, where Ozzy Diaz is a plus 260 underdog. And I will just be transparent. I did not watch any tape on Ozzie Diaz, and so I don't have any real thoughts about this fight. And, you know, this is Jean making his, or made his UFC debut in February, and beat Brinson Hibero, but I don't think that much of Brinson Hibero. Diaz is a guy who lost to Joe Pfehron contender series. Ostensibly, Zhang should win this fight,
Starting point is 00:21:36 but I was not going to dive deep, particularly not at these odds, to find a price on something that I liked. So a full pass, as we move on. away, move on down, move on down, or ease on down, sorry. I should cut this. I won't, but I should cut this. As we ease on down the road to a bantam weight contest, the, I guess last in order, but the first in order we'll be talking about of three Road to UFC finals, Berjang Gialesi
Starting point is 00:22:04 versus Siung Yu in the Road to UFC Bantamweight Finals. My thoughts on this are pretty simple and you'll get where it's going. looking at the road to UFC fights, you go back and watch them. Nobody jumped out as deeply impressive. Honestly, like, if you just bet dogs might not be the worst idea, because nobody really dazzled me coming off of that. Basically, everybody won decisions. A lot of people won multiple split decisions in their road QFC runs.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Shout out to Su-Young-you, though. Yu-Jitsu is a very fun name, but not going to be betting on it. What I am going to be betting on is the second of two gimmick parlayes. We have the Yon Parlay, and we have what I'm calling the high road parlay, because we are going to be taking the over one and a half in each of the road to UFC finals bouts. So over one and a half, Jalyisi has hit five of his past five has hit the over one and a half. And Su Yong Yu, four of his past five hit the over one and a half. As I mentioned, a lot of decisions for these boys on the road to EOC tournament.
Starting point is 00:23:16 And so I like the over one and a half. That one comes in at minus 325. And our next one is the flyweight road to EFC finals between Kira Singh Sahota, taking on Dong Hum Choy. Breakdown is pretty simple again because the breakdown for one road is basically the breakdown for all roads. Nobody's that impressive. The women's straw weight, a sensible winner. Certainly a little more. We'll get to her in just a second.
Starting point is 00:23:44 But a lot of splits, a lot of decisions. Dong Hun Troy, four of his past five hit the over one and a half. Kiro Sohota, three of his past five hit the over one and a half. If I was straight picking, I would actually say Sohota maybe has a slight advantage here. Troy did not look good, frankly, at all on road to U.C. And Sohota is a much bigger dude. I think he's got like five or six inches of height, like six or seven inches of a reach advantage. Troy got hit a lot.
Starting point is 00:24:16 I think you could honestly do worse than just taking a bet on Sohota because the price is even. But I don't want to be betting straight up on any of these people because they are, they're so new. They're so not a ton of experience for most of them. So passing on that, but taking the over one and a half of that parlay. And the last leg of it is the women's straw weight road to UFC finals. She Ming taking on Fang Zhao Khan, Fang a massive favorite minus 340, Ming plus 265. The over one and a half lines here. She is hit four over past five and Fang has hit three of her past five.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Fang certainly the most impressive of the road to OC combatants this weekend. But still, given where we're at, where we're talking about, talking about. I just want to take my gimmick parlay for the high road and be done with it. And that takes us to a flyweight contest between Niamjargal, Tumendimberl versus Carlos Hernandez. Hernandez is a betting favorite right now, minus 185. Tumindemboro plus 160 as the underdog. Shout out to Tumindembroil. Art of Knockout is a deeply, deeply great nickname, especially because he does not knock people out.
Starting point is 00:25:29 He mostly wins via submission. So a bit of a misnomer there. And shout out to, I forgot who it was. So I apologize, but who threw out the possibility of a gimmick parlay of Tum and Dimbriol by submission and Jiu-Jitsu by knockout. Because, you know, the misnomer parlay, not a bad thing. But I just don't want to have action, frankly, on Jitsu at this point in time. That being said, I do have.
Starting point is 00:25:59 actually want to have action, I want to have action on Tumen Dimberl because we've seen Hernandez get outrestled pretty consistently. Tumindembro and what we've seen from him has a pretty good ability there. He's not like a world class wrestler or whatever, but certainly can grapple. I think he's going to be able to get takedowns. And I think this is much closer to a 50-50 fight. And you're getting a pretty good price in Tumindembro, plus 160. So give me the undefeated dude with a great nickname at Underdog.
Starting point is 00:26:29 I love that. Let's have a little fun there. And that takes us to the last bet I'll have of the evening. And thus, frankly, the last fight I'll give a major breakdown to. It is a flyweight contest between Loner Kavanaugh and Jose Ochoa. Kavanaugh minus 350, Ochoa plus $290. Lonnie Kavanaugh is unbelievably talented. He is off the most recent season of Contender Series. came in. I think it was the first episode. Maybe it was the second episode. It was very early in.
Starting point is 00:27:04 And you guys know at this point, I do Conduinary Series breakdowns. This year, I changed my rating system a little bit to sort of reflect how the NFL draft works. I had Lonnie Kavanaugh as a first round blue chip prospect. This is a guy you would take in the top five of any draft. He is young. He is unbelievably talented. And here, just for the sake of it, I just copy. Into my notes, I just copy and pasted my thoughts on him coming off the show. He's one of the better prospects to ever come through contender series. He's 25 and immediately ready to jump into the deep end of the Flyweight Division. He's a good athlete with remarkable polish given his age, poised under fire, slick, diversified striking game, nasty power, especially at Flyweight.
Starting point is 00:27:52 I genuinely like Ochoa as a prospect as well. I believe he's only 23. This will be making his UFC debut. and it's a tough out for him. Kid looks really good, undefeated, 23-year-old prospect. But like I said, Lonnie Kavanaugh's,
Starting point is 00:28:07 you could start throwing this dude ranked opponents right now and he would not be out of his element. So very much on board with backing him. And as a result, Lonnie Kavanaugh is my member of the climb. He is level four of the climb this time around. Put my money where my mouth is.
Starting point is 00:28:23 Historically, my favorite prospects from Contender Series are doing unbelievably well. Uh, right now, I think my round one prospects are, uh, like one and oh or two and oh this year, thus far as not that many have competed from the most recent. And then, uh, the, the kind of top tier prospects I previously thought of are like 19 and two right now, uh, with one of those being a decision I didn't really care for. So the call the Judey's one, which was previously mentioned. Um, and then let's put a bow on this thing.
Starting point is 00:28:55 Let's talk about the last two fights. Zhao Long, taking on Kwongle, uh, and Abandoni, uh, and Aban, contest. I have no notes on this fight. I did not do any research on this fight. I have seen Kwongle fight, but I can't recall any of it. And so a stone pass for me. And then the opening bout of the evening, actually a pretty good fight, kind of buried here. This is a solid matchup at a lightweight contest between Mahashate and Nicholas Motta, Mahashate minus 190 favorite Motta plus 170. Part of me actually really does think that there's value in Mota. But I think a lot that maybe is attributed to Mota knocking out my boy big Tom Nolan and how high was on him as a
Starting point is 00:29:35 prospect and so maybe I'm overvaluing. But the other part is that Moshate is he's yet to impress. His debut early, early knockout, that was legitimately impressive. Since then, pretty man, like has not really jumped off the page of somebody that is deeply, deeply exciting for me coming off a split D over Gabriel Benitez. which is reasonable, but, you know, got knocked out by Shlava Claus, Hafa Garcia, though Hafa Garcia is good. The issue is Maasate has been legitimately just fighting tough dudes at lightweight,
Starting point is 00:30:09 and so hard to look good if you're not great, and he is still so young. I believe he's still only 24 at this point in time, and so he's still got a lot of room to improve. I think Motta is probably like maybe the better fighter at this stage of his career, but also this is a guy who, you know, lost to Jim Miller and Manuel Torres, and he's been knocked out. Masha, they can certainly do that as well. And so I'm ultimately staying away from this one,
Starting point is 00:30:36 but very, very tempted by a Mota pick here. And I guess we'll see. And so if you're keeping track at home, that means I have five total bets this weekend. It is not that exciting. It's the Ossdemeur-Ollberg doesn't go to decision and the Tumen Dimbriol are my straight plays. I've got the two gimmick parlayes going,
Starting point is 00:30:55 and then I've got Lonnie Kavanaugh, minus 350 as a member of the climb. And ladies and gentlemen, that is it for this week. You've seen Macau soon to be in the books. And then it will be, for the UFC at least, the road to UFC 310. Looking ahead, that is a pretty darn good card. I know we got a little bit of news last weekend about it,
Starting point is 00:31:16 but Alejandro Pintoja, Kaiasakura, Shavcott v. Yamichado Gary. That's a great fight. Sir Gond Volkov rematch. Bryce Mitchell, Kron, and Gracie, the Flat Earth Bowl. Nate Landher, duo Troy, awesome. Like, very, like a rock solid 310.
Starting point is 00:31:31 But before we get there, next week, it will be PFL championships, baby. That's right. Thanksgiving and the PFL, that is a tradition as American as it gets. And buddy, let me tell you, those championships. We will do a show. I don't know how many bets we'll have down because, you know, PFL doesn't give you a ton of prop options, et cetera. That show may be a long, long watch for all of us. us kiddos if you're staying around to watch it there are i think 16 fights on the on the event
Starting point is 00:32:02 and i believe 11 championship bouts because we're also getting the pfo europe uh tournament finals so buckle up for next week it's going to be a doozy but until then mccau happening that again early saturday morning like 3 a m east coast time if you are waking up i hope you enjoyed if you just catching the highlights.
