Starting point is 00:01:46 the motion heading to the mile high city Denver, Colorado for a matchup between Rosamah Unis and Tracy Cortez. Jed, how are we doing my mind? I mean, it's the one we've been waiting for, you know? The one? This is it? I'll admit, I'm a little bummed. I really was actually looking forward to Rose versus Macy Barber.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Basically that fell out and we're here. But we had a nice little break kind of out on a weekend off. I didn't even have to cover the Mosphidal Diaz boxing match, so had some time off. You know, last time we spoke, you were here. You were here in my humble...
Starting point is 00:02:27 I was at the Mishu Mansion, baby. I got to see it all. At the mansion, you know, a little UFC 303 action. My first losing week in a while that weekend, but not that bad. Lost a little under one unit.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Didn't even leave a full unit. So it's okay We're still up on the year And we had a tremendous amount of fun You know and Not to be that guy It's close to being really good Came up on the wrong side
Starting point is 00:02:57 Of some split decisions That would have made me a lot of money I know you know what that's about So 303 wasn't bad Yeah wasn't bad Yeah I won a couple units on 303 It just continues the up and down year Kind of been hovering around like 10 years
Starting point is 00:03:14 units down pretty much the whole year. But I mean, we're flipping the calendar to July halfway through. Time for a little bounce bag just like we did last year. I'm not too concerned about it. And hopefully continuing the winning ways this weekend in Denver. Looking forward to this one. There's a couple good fights on it. There's a couple good fights.
Starting point is 00:03:34 There are a couple of things I'm looking forward to. There's several of these fights that I just, I got nothing on, no interest in. And I think ultimately, depending on how much you've got, I'm pretty light on action this week. I even, if I were just going strictly off of what I was feeling in my chest, I'd be very light. I added a couple because, you know, we do a gambling podcast. Sometimes you want to, I don't want to come here with three bets. That just didn't seem right. So add a little bit more, but it should be a light week for me and probably light work.
Starting point is 00:04:07 I think we're going to dominate this week. That's my view. I think so, too. I don't think I'm going to lose a single bet. Shark week. Shark week, let's go. Is it Shark Week? I was that was later.
Starting point is 00:04:15 In July. Let me, let me confirm that. What? This would be massive news. Oh yeah. It is. It's Shark Week.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Wow. What? This feels early. This feels early. This feels early. And then I worked around to find a Shark Week bet and there weren't any good bets. Am I, am I tripping that a couple people got bit over the 4th of July weekend?
Starting point is 00:04:40 and really kicked us off right. There's a, there's been a couple of bites this year. We've had a few happening, so. What is going on? Why is Shark Week so early this year? I truly do not know the answers. My mind is blown right now. I mean, I got that, like, second to last week of July.
Starting point is 00:05:00 I mean, I got that blocked off for Shark Week. I mean, we're going to have to find something. There's got to be something on this card associated with sharks. We're going to have to work through it. We're going to have to work through it. I was looking because I saw it and I went looking digging. There's no, there's no baby shark. There's no great white.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Closest I could find was, you know, Desmond Blackshear is Demonstr. You know, that's pretty thin. He does have S.H in his name, you know. Could be shark. Man, Ketamon, the black tip black shirt. Like, it's just not, it's a lot. It's hard. I was looking for us.
Starting point is 00:05:42 For Fatima Klein to change her nickname from the arch angle to, or the arc angel to the shark. Can we do that? I'm just the big fan of the arch angle. Can we get the shark angle, shark angel going here? That feels. Wouldn't hate that. Tracy Cortez, does she even have a nickname? No, she sure doesn't.
Starting point is 00:06:06 No. I mean, one of them needs to get a nickname like right now. you know, Argentine dagger, King of Kung Fu. This is just Drew Dober. Is there anything?
Starting point is 00:06:20 Does anyone like like sharks? I mean, this is the biggest bummer of the week. This is the biggest bummer of the week. It's a bit of a letdown for sure. So I don't know what to do with it. I ultimately don't have any shark bets.
Starting point is 00:06:35 I do have a pretty fun gimmick bet, but we'll get to that as the card goes on. I usually think maybe the biggest disappointment is that I've already missed two nights of Shark Week and I didn't even know it. Well, I'm glad we could, we're doing this on Tuesday, so now you can get caught up. You'll be ready to rock for the rest of the week. I'm going to have to. I'm going to have to. So in honor of Shark Week, let's dive in. Let's dive right in. What a professional.
Starting point is 00:07:04 UFC Denver. We're a professional. There's a reason they pay me the big bucks. Rosnami Eunice taking on Tracy. Cortez in the main event. Right now, Rose Namayunis, the former champion, is going to be your favorites in at minus 218. Tracee Cortez coming back at plus 180.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Your thoughts on this main event? So like I said, I was really into the Rose versus Macy Barber fight. I was going to pick Rose, but, you know, Macy's been coming on so strong, still developing. I really liked it. We're kind of getting, you know, similar contours with Tracy Cortez. but she doesn't have the big names and her resume that Macy has. And she's stepping in on short notice. And ultimately, like, I'm going to stay backing Rosnami Eunice.
Starting point is 00:07:51 And so I have a wager on her. I think Tracy Cortez certainly have some success early just by being a physical force in there, but she's not really ready for the additional 10 minutes that's getting on here. And look, you're not going to find me defending Rosamma Unis in a major way. because I've been on this program, I've been on many other programs, and said, sometimes she goes out there and lays an egg, and you had always factor that in. That's always a risk when you are backing Rosenami Union. She might call her a spars it, you know, and just lose a fight.
Starting point is 00:08:23 She has no business losing. But if you remove the Asparza fight and, you know, the bump up against Monifiora, your girl, very good, her first foray into the weight class. And Rose was even competitive in that fight. she is she's just a really really damn good fighter has not lost to any anybody but kind of the elite of the elite and then carlos baza and i don't think tracy cortez is there so i'm back in rows thug rose minus 210 uh it's not a pretty bet you know it's not a sexy bet but i hope it's a winning one yeah i kind of feel the same way about you i think it's going to be a close fight i do
Starting point is 00:09:01 think tracy cortez is going to be able to have some success early but i feel like as the fight wears on Rose will likely take over. I think it's going to be close. I think it's probably going to go to a decision. We haven't seen Tracy Cortez finish any of her UFC opponents. I want to say like nine straight fight of hers have gone to a decision. I mean, she couldn't even finish Maria Acapova on the contender series. So yeah, I think it's going to be close. I think it goes long. And when it comes to the scorecards, I just don't really know. I'm not going to play Rose at this price stack. I do think she probably does get it done. But because Tracee Cortez, I know she was training for a fight that's next week.
Starting point is 00:09:44 But just because she's coming in on short notice, fighting a girl in Rose that I think has the better striking that has definitely no questions asked, fought the better competition, has fought five rounds many, many times. I will give the rose, give the nod to Rose. So I'm just going to stay away through the over two and a half in as a parlay piece. I was looking at the over one and a half, but the price is so big on one and a half. The best I could find was minus 850, and while I was staring at it, it moved to minus 900. I mean, that's, yeah, that's insane, because, like, I've got a little pacifist parley coming up, the Seaberg special, you know, and I was like, ooh, this would be great, but not for minus 900.
Starting point is 00:10:28 That's insane. So, yeah, but I like your read. I think we're kind of in lockstep here. All right, let's roll on to the co-main of Vince. Santiago, Panza Nibio, representing Argentina. The Argentine d'Ag, you're taking on Muslim Salikov right now, Ponziadio. Is your favorite at minus 205 Salikov coming back at plus 170? Just going to keep this brief.
Starting point is 00:10:54 I really got no take on this fight. You got a 37-year-old and a 40-year-old fighting each other, who are both one and three in their last four, fighting at 5,200 feet of elevation. Not certain on why it's the co-main event. And I'm just going to stay away. Just going to stay away from this one. Not certain on that either.
Starting point is 00:11:14 I'm not staying away. I'm taking Ponzi scheme. Ponzi. I just like him. He never got up to the highs that kind of at some points in his career people thought he could get to. This was a dude who people thought, you know, Dark Horse for a title run. Never got there, but spent a lot of time as a top 15 dude. Kind of still is in that neighborhood, and Muslim Salakov's 40 years old.
Starting point is 00:11:39 And I mostly just don't really like his chances in this matchup. I think Ponzi can win the striking and also can employ the grappling if need be and kind of stymie the king of kung fu. So, you know, this is one of those fights that if I wasn't doing a podcast where I'm trying to create content for you wonderful listeners. Maybe I wouldn't bet minus 200 on it, but I don't feel that bad about the odds and so I fired minus 200 for Ponzi scheme.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I love it. Love it, man. I'm still working on, I'm grabbing at straws here to try and find a Shark Week bet. I spend a while. Any Australians on this card? I don't think so. Australians, they got a lot of they got a lot of sharks.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Florida is actually home to the most shark attacks in the world. 896 total attacks. Anyone from Florida on this card? I don't think so. I don't think so either. I'm trying to think. No, Charles Johnson.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Because most of these people are like northeastern or midwest. Josh Frim, PA in Colorado, DeMont Blacksharee, North Carolina, that's unfortunate. Montel Jackson. So a lot of Wisconsin folk on this one. Yeah, we'll keep digging.
Starting point is 00:13:11 We'll keep digging. We will keep digging, and we will roll on to the next fight. Drew Dover taking on John Silva, John Silva stepping in just two weeks after winning against Charles Jordane on UFC 303 International Fight Week just a couple weeks ago. now he's fighting at 155. Flip a coin.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Those are the odds. Minus 115 Dover. Minus 105, Jean Silva. This is, sign me up for this. I mean, this is a great fight. I mean, Drew Dober, if he's fighting a striker, is almost always in an exciting fight. Massive chin. We've seen it get cracked now, but still, unbelievable chin on this guy.
Starting point is 00:13:49 And from the short UFC tenure, we've seen from John Silva, he comes into bank. So I have a feeling that this is going to be a very exciting. fight. I think someone's going to get got. So I played yesterday. The fight doesn't go to a decision at minus 200. 10 of Dover's last 12 of knock on decision, Sylva, 9 of his last 10. I feel like they're just going to come in here and swing. And I'm wondering, are you riding with your guys? Big Paul's on a puppy. You know I am. Big Paul's on a puppy. After U.S. 303 where Jean Silva got another knockout win over Charles Ford game. I watched that fight with you, man. I watched that fight with you. There's investment. There's investment for your guys. Big Paul's on a puppy. You were cheering on
Starting point is 00:14:26 John Silva, man. You were there for them. I'm admitted to my boys here. And, I mean, just a tactical genius, made sure to get Charles Jordane out before the third round. Oh, my God, yes. I know you were sweating in there. Can't have third round Gordane show up. You can't let it to get
Starting point is 00:14:42 to the third. He didn't. 11 and 1 now, the only lost Big Paws have is Carly Judice. Again, I thought she won that sputty, but you know, 11 and 1 official. You know, certainly some concerned. Drew Dover, huge step up in competition, stepping in on short notice, but
Starting point is 00:15:00 John Silva just hits like a hammer. And Drew Dover got a good chin, got a big chin, big target in there for my boy. I think he's going to get it done. I think he's going to crack him and the rise continues from my guys. And so I've bet actually, I just went ahead and did the prop bet. Like, you know, I could have gotten him straight money for just, you know, the minus 110 basically either side but i'm a john silver by kot ko p o plus 175 when this guy wins it's by knocking you out he swings a big bat and they're just going to chuck them until one falls over i'm betting it's drew dober raise the runners raise the sails raise the sales captain an unidentified ship is approaching over roger wait is that an enterprise sales solution reach sales professionals not professional sailors

It's going to be great. That fight's awesome.
Starting point is 00:16:45 I love that fight. It's easy to fight I'm the most excited for this weekend. Oh yeah, no doubt, no doubt. That's the one you pull up the friends for. You're like, all right, this one's going to be a bang. guys get ready for it uh all right let's keep rolling gabriel bonfine taking on angloosa right now bonfeme is the biggest favorite on the card no no no no luana santos actually is uh bonfine has come in heavily uh right now minus 340 angeloosa plus 270 um yeah i don't i don't i worry about bonfine's cardio
Starting point is 00:17:19 at the altitude like this i also do worry that he has finished all of his fights at angeloosa has never been finished. So if it does go long, Bonfine's cardio could become an issue. I'm just not going to play a money line night, but I am going to take that under two and a half. Like I said, Bonfine, 16 fights, never seen the scorecards. I'm getting the under two and a half at minus 150. I know And Julus has never been finished, but it's just a system play. You know, you just plug that one into the algorithm. Guys, never seen the score cards in 16 professional fights. And I'm getting the under two and a half at minus 150. That's just going to have to be an auto bet right there. Just going to have to throw that one in. Just play the system, you know, play.
Starting point is 00:17:53 play the system. I guess I will say this, you know, circling back, because I have no bet here. Anders Luce is feels like he's being entirely discounted, which maybe I'm a little, like, little dog or passy situation here. If we're really trying, if we're really grasping its straws reaching. I'm down for a D or P. What?
Starting point is 00:18:15 I said, I'm down for a D or P, a little dogger pass. Yeah. If we're trying to find one, Connor, I know And Joluz is, you know, he's, you know, he's from Switzerland, but he is a Kilcliff guy. So Florida, maybe that's the only shark week
Starting point is 00:18:31 connection. I mean, I don't love it. The last ninja is not very sharky. Nothing sharky about the last ninja. But just saying, like, that's the closest I can find. Let's keep it booked. Any
Starting point is 00:18:47 chance, any chance Myanmar has sharks? I'm sure Myanmar has. sharks like why wouldn't it you know yeah yeah yeah i mean because that's for josh man that's that's there's a lot of i mean there's a lot of coast because it's right there next to thailand and that little southeast asia peninsula um but i i can't speak to let me google myanmar and sharks i'm over here like just straight up just like googling everyone's name on the car sharks in burmese water oh between 2014 and 2016 there were a total of four confirmed shark at
Starting point is 00:19:23 attacks, three of which were fatal. The Burmese bamboo shark is an extremely rare bamboo shark. This is just Myanmar shark in the Google. Yeah. Yeah. I'm actually just, I'm just starting to Google every UFC fighter with the word shark after it. I like that. Like Josh friend shark?
Starting point is 00:19:48 Can we just get something? Has anyone been on the show Shark Tank to try to make a sale? Oh, my God. A shark tank would be exceptional. Come on. Can we just get a little something here? Man, a lot more sharks than I thought in the tapology. If you just Google shark, there's a lot more shark nicknames than kind of jumped out at me. Yeah, yeah. A catastrophic event helped him turn his life around, Andre Petroski.
Starting point is 00:20:16 No, it was not a shark attack. I mean, we're just going to keep plugging away here. We'll just keep plugging away. Kids, don't you worry. Montel Jackson Shark. You know, we can move on to the next fight after this. Chances in. I mean, we're doing the work.
Starting point is 00:20:34 We're doing the work. There's no doubt about it. But yeah, don't think I'm going to pull the Andge Luce's Shark trigger. But, yeah. I think that's reasonable. Under two and a half for me, let's keep it right on rolling. Christian Rodriguez taking on Juicy J. Julian Arrosa right now, Christian Rodriguez is your favorite sitting at.
Starting point is 00:20:52 at minus 205. Rosa coming back at plus 170. This should be a pretty good fight. I think C-Rod at this point in their careers is definitely the better fighter. I think he's the real deal, but it's interesting with him not really being like a filled-out featherweight, taken on 6-1 featherweight. He's going to be 6'0 shorter, a few inches of reach disadvantage. But from an overall fight perspective,
Starting point is 00:21:22 I like his well-rounded game. I like his IQ. I think Christian Rodriguez gets it done. I also think you get to dumb. I don't have a bet here, but I did just want to, I put one down as a, let's talk through. Maybe you've got some insight. If this was like, it's one of those where I wrote one down, if you were on it, I was going to jump on it.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Let's be a team. But just kind of looking at, you know, Winnerosa loses historically. I knock out. It's getting knocked the hell out. He's seven of his, or six of his seven UFC. losses. Sure. He's getting finished in him.
Starting point is 00:21:56 C-Rot doesn't have a lot of them, though, but it's pretty probably plus 2.75 for C-Rod by KOT, T-K-O. I think that number's a little higher than you might expect just because he doesn't have many in the resume. I was actually going to say it's lower because of how few he has on the resume. Like, submission sitting at plus 750? I kind of thought we were going to be looking at like a plus 500 or something for K-O for C-Rod. just assumed it would be low because when erosa dies he dies in predictable fashion sure sure
Starting point is 00:22:31 i mean uh when was it when was his last knockout verbal stoppage against ryan mccantosh you got a kale against uh charlamproes grigugrow at c f's not a lot i had a few in the amies but it's so i have no action but i wanted to see if maybe you're somewhere involved here um but i think given what we're talking through this is just a pass yeah plus two seventy five doesn't get me there plus two seventy five doesn't get me there uh all right let's go to the last fight on the main car cody brundjian brundage taking on abdul razak alhassen right now a r a is your favorite but uh just a slight one over mr brundage minus 162 brundage coming back at plus one 366 um I feel like this is sort of binary.
Starting point is 00:23:22 I feel like in the first seven and a half minutes, Abdul Razakha Hassan is either going to land a big shot. And if he doesn't, I feel like he's probably going to get wrestled. He's probably going to gas out, and he's probably going to get finished. So yeah, I think someone gets finished here. I just don't know who.
Starting point is 00:23:39 I also agree someone gets finished. I thought about Brundage just as a Colorado play because, you know, he's a hometown boy, or fighting out of, I think. but instead I went for the under one and a half minus 145 combined in their last let me I have the numbers here in their last 22 fights they have hit the under one and a half 15 times I mean statistically you're getting good odds for for the likelihood based on the totality of their UFC career so I'm sticking to it under one one and a half 145
Starting point is 00:24:19 What is the Colorado Parlay? Would that be Josh Frimmed, Cody Bruninger, Drew Dover, Rosenomi, Eunice? I think that's right, right? I didn't actually, like, dive into it. That sounds right off the top of my head. Not frimmed, though. Is frimmed Colorado? Yeah, he moved there.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Oh, I thought he was a Pennsylvania guy. He was from there, but he moved to Denver. Yeah, fights out of... factory where does he Factory X, Moitai? Yeah, I think that might be where he fights out of. Factor X, I know Factory X is in Colorado. Yeah, Inglewood, right?
Starting point is 00:24:57 Correct. Yeah. Yeah, good old Josh Friend. Yeah, fighting out of, it looks like there's an Instagram picture here with old Factory X in the background. Then, yeah, sounds like that'd be it. Plus 1128?
Starting point is 00:25:12 Plus 1128 on that bad. It's a lot. I don't think I agree with most of those. side so I won't be on that parlay but Godspeed, Dini and all who are. Could be. It could be all right. I mean, it could be, man.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Brando. Man. I might throw it in. I might throw it in. Just have a little fun. If I can't get a Shark Week bet, then I at least got to do a, I at least got to do a Colorado bet, yeah. But yes, I'm using the under two and a half as a little parlay piece.
Starting point is 00:25:45 And that's the main card. That is the main card of UFC Denver. Let's roll along to the prelims. There's actually less prelims than there are main card fights. 11 fights on this one. Six main card. Five prelums. Well, look at that.
Starting point is 00:25:57 That is true. Yeah, it's going to be a slog if they actually start these fights at 7 p.m. Eastern because the main card doesn't start until 10. I will not be watching. So I'm on vacation starting on Thursday. Wow, where are we going? Where are we going? Going Alabama. Wow.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Friends and I every year do a golf trip. in the summer. So I'm going to go play some golf, drink some beers, have some good time. RTJ, you know, Robert Trin Jones, just swinging sticks about.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Shout out. A little Bobby Jones golf trail? And, you know, check in on MMAFind.comGroit website for the updates. I may, the Drew Doe Virginia Silva, that's probably going to be
Starting point is 00:26:39 I'll pull the phone out, fight and kind of follow that one along. The rest of these, I'll just, be happy to get the updates on afterwards. But for all those watching, I certainly hope that it is not a slog for you if they're starting this late. Yeah, we'll see. Five fights to fill three hours is that's that's slog territory. But let's let's dive into these prelims. Josh Fan taking on the enemy of the nation, a flyway to understand Charles Johnson. And right now Charles Johnson is
Starting point is 00:27:12 the underdog. He comes in at plus 170. Josh Van, minus two of five um you know what i'm doing i'm i'm fine are you betting the flyweight under no finally just give it into j to charles johnson i'm using the over one and a half as a parley piece i dare you charles johnson five straight decisions and i'm pretty sure i was on the under and every single one of those i dare you to finally finish this fight under one and a half uh and just just just despite me one last time i don't dare you because i'm doing the same thing Yeah. I couldn't do it.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Like, I almost just bet the over two and a half and was like, I can't do it. At least one and a half I can still feel some kinship with the Flywood Undernation. But, man, this is never get finished. I like Josh Van. But other people haven't finished him, I don't think Josh Van is going to be the one. I'm on the over one and a half is the first leg of a three-leg parlay, a passive, a little pacifist parlay. And I'm also on Josh Van straight up. I just like Josh Fan, I think he's a really good prospect.
Starting point is 00:28:19 I think he's, you know, good enough at the wrestling to kind of keep this on the feet for the most part. Create scrambles if he needs to to get back up. And he's got more volume, much faster hands. I really like Josh Fan as a prospect, like his chances in this fight. So the only time I'm double dipping this weekend is this fight here. Well, if Charles Johnson comes out and gets a submission in the first round, I'll just hate him. I'll hate him a whole lot. I'm already not a huge fan of him because of what he did to flyweight unders, but yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Almost single-handedly killed them. I think it was single-handed. I think he corrupted an empire on his own. Like on the one hand, you kind of got to respect a man standing surrounded by a nation of enemies and just battling through them until they give up. Because remember, if you haven't enjoyed a Charles Johnson fight, it gets so close to finishing. Almost every time he gets out there. and then it doesn't finish,
Starting point is 00:29:18 and then it's so far from finishing that you know it's going to a decision. You just get a couple chances each fight where you're just like, I think it's about to finish, I think it's about the finish, and then it doesn't finish. And then you're just like,
Starting point is 00:29:30 yeah, no chance this is going to the scorecards. So hopefully we get that scare this weekend, and then we end up surviving to the over one and a half. I dare you, Charles Johnson, do it. You know it's going to happen now. Go under one and a half. Go under one and a half. and a half, Charles Johnson.
Starting point is 00:29:47 It'll kill me. Dastardly. Jasmine Jazz DeVisci is taking on Fatima, the shark angel Klein. Right now. The debutante, your very, very slight favorite, minus 115. Jasmine Jazzavishia is coming back at minus 105. You know where I'm going here. Jasmine Jazz DeVizius.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Played her yesterday. Plus 110. I had a bet on her against the Rougeau. Now I have one here. She publicly shamed me after I bet against her, and she's 3026, Gabriella Fernandez. I've bet on her every time since. She's won, she's lost one. She's won a couple, though, especially one as a big dog against Miranda Maverick.
Starting point is 00:30:28 So I'm just going to keep riding her. I'm just going to keep rolling with her. Now we get her dog odds against the debutante? Come on. I understand Klein is good. Accomplished grappler, CFFC double champ, but against two. But against two. Now it's short notice against someone with fights at the UFC level, with wins at the UFC level.
Starting point is 00:30:49 She'll be the bigger fighter in there. Riding with JJ. Let's hashtag stay vicious, as they said. I knew you were going to do this. Yeah. And it was obvious. And frankly, I'm glad you did because it meant I didn't have to. I didn't have to be involved here.
Starting point is 00:31:07 I was honestly surprised Klein is the favorite giving short notice. so young in her career. Yeah, double champs, CFSC, but she was going to be on the contenders series in September before the short notice came up. Like, it seems a bit odd against someone like Jasmine who has, you know, a pedigree at this point. But same token, she's pretty good,
Starting point is 00:31:31 so I just don't want to be involved in this fight. So instead, I have the over one and a half. I do also have that. I said, you know, it seems pretty like this go a little longer. I got the over. one and a half. It is the second leg of the pacifist over one and a half parlay with the Van Johnson. And we'll get to the third leg in just a couple of fights here. I'm Nealai Patel, editor-in-chief The Verge, and Decoder is my show about big ideas and other
Starting point is 00:31:55 problems. We've talked a lot about generative AI on the show lately, which is a very big idea that is causing quite a few problems. And one thing we keep hearing about over and over again is that generative AI is causing a lot of problems in schools. There are a lot of people out there, including many of the listeners of the show who email us, who are worried about the obvious problem, students using chat GPT to cheat on assignments. But when our team went and poked at the story, they found that the issues in education with AI go a lot deeper,
Starting point is 00:32:24 to the very philosophy of education itself. If this technology becomes more ubiquitous, we'll have courses created by AI, graded by AI, with submissions from students, absolutely generated by AI. So it begs the question, What are we even doing here in higher ed?

Starting point is 00:34:02 All right, let's dive into Luana Santos, taking on Maria Agapova. Nothing better than a Maria Agapova fight week. don't know what you're going to get. And Juana Santos is your biggest favorite on the card despite opening. On Draft King Sportsbook has a minus 170. She has plummeted all the way down to a minus 395. Agapova coming back at plus 280. Just from a side standpoint, I cannot trust Maria.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Agapov, I don't care. How big the price tag is there? Just too many question marks with her and her career. Where is she training? Who is she being coached by? How is she doing mentally? Does she even have a place to live? and then in the octagon one in three in our last four has been finished in all of those losses
Starting point is 00:34:45 but on the flip side of that i'm not playing luana santos at minus 400 what i did do because it's a maria agapova fight i took the under two and a half on a women's fight which i don't do often but agapova seven straight all of her ufc fights have gone under the two and a half um and fighting at altitude we have seen that cardio go we have seen that cardio go and uh i don't think being if you're 5,200 feet is going to assist her here. I don't know when she got to Colorado. Wouldn't be surprised if she got there this week, and she didn't have time to hacklemaid.
Starting point is 00:35:19 But if you're getting finished by Shannon Dobson, as a minus 1,400 favorite. It's not great. Yeah. Yeah. So under two and a half. Under two and a half for me. Yeah, I just don't want to be involved in a Maria Agapova fight.
Starting point is 00:35:36 So I look at this fight. I've seen the exact opposite. I have to be involved in a Maria Agapopo fight. It's just how do I get involved? That's the only question. We're different people because I looked at this and I didn't even pretend to do a breakdown or research. It was like, I don't want to be touching it.
Starting point is 00:35:52 I'll move right on down the road. I don't even need to do research because I know the lore of Maria Agapova. I know the story. I know how we got it. All right, let's keep rolling to a great Banimway fight. Montel Jackson taking on DeMond Blachshare right now. The mom Blackshear is the. underdog sitting at minus at plus 130 montel jackson coming back at minus 155 uh yeah i mean this is this is a
Starting point is 00:36:17 fight between two really solid uh unranked bannam whites like guys that that definitely have have potential at this weight class um i just i don't know in terms of a side like i like what the mom blackshirt does inside the octagon him stepping in on a week notice against mario batista last year and keeping it competitive was great But, you know, we've mentioned it with a few fighters. I mean, DeMont Blackshare death gassed against Yusuf Zalalal got 10-8ed and ended up in a draw. So I just, I don't know how much I trust them. It feels like he's kind of the darling dog.
Starting point is 00:36:52 I'm seeing a lot of people on him. Not seeing many people on Montel Jackson, but I think this is a great fight. If I'm going to pick, I'm going to say Montel Jackson by decision. No, I'm going to go third round knockout for Montel Jackson, but no bet for me. So this is the last leg of my pacifist parley, the over one and a half here is the final thing. I know Montel Jackson's nickname is quick or whatever, but it's gone to like six or seven decisions in the U.S. Blackshear, never been finished. Certainly more of a finisher, but talk about two guys who have just never been stopped.
Starting point is 00:37:30 And so I needed a third leg to get the number better. and I just kind of settled on this one because I do think that this is certainly going to go maybe not all the cards because of the altitude but you know I think maybe Blackshare can have a strong opening around and then you know Montel steps in and starts taking over and finds a finish late I could see either way honestly I do think this is a pretty good fight
Starting point is 00:37:56 as you noted and so just give me the over one and a half and let's let's have some fun let's have some fun man I think it's going to be a great fight and I think it'll be a fun one. Let's get to the last fight that we're going to talk about the first fight on the card. Josh Fram takes on Andre Petroski, and this is a coin flipper Rooney, minus 110. Each way your guess is as good as mine, but I don't mind this matchup for Josh Fram. We talk about it, Colorado.
Starting point is 00:38:26 That's where he's been training from. We've seen Petroski struggle with the cardio. I think if he can survive like an early onslaught from Petroski, he can start to have have some success. I mean, the only way I'm playing Josh Fram is if I threw them in the in the DP, the Denver Parlay, the Colorado bet. But I did. I don't know, I don't know why I like totals so much because I'm terrible at them.
Starting point is 00:38:53 They're by far my worst. Like parlays are my best. Singles are my second best. Props are by far my worst, which is surprising because I think it might be reverse order and how much I like each of them. Love props, love singles, am if he on parles.
Starting point is 00:39:12 But I am going with the under two and a half. I mean, if you count as tough fights, Petrosky, 13 of his 15 fights have not gone to a decision. He's been KO three times. I think he gasses here if he does not get the finish. And then Fremd, since he got the LFA, eight of his last 11,
Starting point is 00:39:30 have not seen the third round. So I'm hoping for fireworks off the, off the row. So we spoke earlier, you gave me some troubling information. Not all the way troubling, but like marginal troubling. Because you know what this fight represents, Connor? What's that? Or at least it's what I thought it represented prior to finding out that Mr. Frimd has moved his operation to Colorado.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Because previously, just looking at this fight, I was like, oh, this is Josh Frim, Pittsburgh Fellow against Andre Prib. Petrosky, the Philly guy, Pittsburgh versus Philly, one of the NFL's oldest rivalries. I mean, Pennsylvania at war with itself here. And looking at that, I said, well, let's go. Let's see how the Pittsburgh versus Philly rivalry is stacking up right now. And, Connor, I found something troubling. Philadelphia has been kicking the shit out of Pittsburgh historically.
Starting point is 00:40:27 49, 29 and 3 all the time the Eagles have over the Steelers. I was not expecting. most recently 2022 Philly hung 35 on them 35 to 13 win in their most recent
Starting point is 00:40:43 battle Philly just kind of owns Pittsburgh is what I'm learning here I'm sure there are going to be a lot of Pittsburgh fans listening in now and they'll be very upset but I'm just giving you the facts Philly owns the state of Pennsylvania
Starting point is 00:40:55 ipso facto ergo Andre Petroski owns Josh Frimmed and so I've bet Andre Petoschke minus 105. Also, fun fact, these two men have fought on a card before. LFA 93. Petrosky was the main event.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Lost Aaron Jeffrey, for him to beat Antonio Jones on that card. That was the first time we knew that Philly and Pittsburgh would, you know, they're in each other's orbit, and now it finally comes to fruition, and Philly's going to keep dominating. Okay, well, if it makes you feel any better, because they have moved.
Starting point is 00:41:34 He has moved to Colorado. He said he fell in love with Denver as soon as he arrived here. The Eagles lead the Broncos in their all-time series 9 to 5. Oh, well, I didn't even think of that. It's perfect. Way to look that up. I mean, Philly just owns Josh Frimd is what I'm coming to determine here. And so I feel pretty good about Andre Petroski at minus 105, you know,
Starting point is 00:42:00 because the odds seem to be in his favor. I'm getting more and more talked into this Colorado parley. I wish there was just like one more person that I could throw on. And like it would just be too perfect if I could get a Denver parlay to be like plus 5280, represent the Mile High City. But that would be. Yeah, I don't think I'm going to get there. I don't think I'm going to get there.
Starting point is 00:42:26 That's just too much. What is it in meters? 1600. You know, it's like Josh man from there. You know, we get kind of close. Either way. Yeah, I think I'm selling myself on this Colorado parlor. I mean, we, I'm against like three legs of it from a betting standpoint.
Starting point is 00:42:44 So I certainly can't. But if I'm going to lose one of them, I hope to lose all of them. So you can cash this big number. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Still, I'm still over here hunting a shark week bet. I don't, I don't think we're going to find one. There just aren't out there.
Starting point is 00:43:00 there, man. This is a heartbreaker, man. This is an absolute heartbreaker. It's pretty ridiculous. There were a lot of options. UFC could have done a lot of booking here and just, you know, maybe they two. Did we look at the upcoming cards? Maybe, you know, Mick Maynard also was planning on Shark Week being the end of the month is,
Starting point is 00:43:22 what's happening at UFC 304? Are there any sharks on that one? I don't know, man. I don't think any of those. Push that one out of the country. Could he brundage with a shark maybe? No. I don't think we're going to find one.
Starting point is 00:43:39 I just don't believe there is one, which is tough scenes. Tough scenes for our heroes. Yeah, until next shark week, we're just going to have to hang on to this one. That's UFC Denver, though. Easy, clean, quick, concise. Beautiful. Is there that what it is? And then.
Starting point is 00:43:58 Sure is. There's a PFL event and Mena. I had nothing. I assume you have nothing. I'm all right on all that. My singles are Fram Petroski under two and a half, Jasmine Jasdivichie's money line. Santos Agapova under two and a half.
Starting point is 00:44:11 Dober, Silva, doesn't go to a decision. Bonfim, Lusa under two and a half. And then the passivist parlay, Van Johnson over one and a half, Jazzavishie's client over one and a half. And Cortez, Namibuio, over two and a half. We always had the same pacifist parlay,
Starting point is 00:44:27 which is, that's fun. If we'd independently come to pacifism. But instead, I'm swapping out the Montau Jackson Blackshear for Nami Yunus Cortez. I got Nami Unas straight up. I got Josh Fannes straight up. Petroski straight up. John Silver by knockout. And my boy, Ponzi scheme, Santiago Pongi, Nibio.
Starting point is 00:44:49 Getting her done. And that'll do us. That'll do us. UFC Denver. I will be gone next week for UFC Apex 94. But I will be done. for the UFC 304. Is it UFC Apex 94?
Starting point is 00:45:04 I think so, because I think 93 was the Tatsuro-Tyro card. Let me investigate here. You are absolutely correct. Nailed it. I don't worry. I keep up with my Apex numbers. But then I'm back for UFC 304, a card that I am very, very excited for. It can be a good one.
Starting point is 00:45:22 A couple of my guys going on that one. Looking forward to it, cannot wait. Love that it's in Manchester. Love that we got Tommy A. Love that we got Arnold Allen Patty Pamela, Bobby Green I mean Leon Edwards Belal Muhammad
Starting point is 00:45:34 I don't need to sell you on that one A ton of great fights It's going to be a fantastic card But until then I'll see you in two weeks Jed see you next week Oh yeah We gotta be
Starting point is 00:45:46 Vegas 94 How could we turn that too? Quickly approaching Quickly approaching 100 We're almost there folks It's gonna be It's gonna be quite a day And we get to do the Vegas
Starting point is 00:45:56 Apex 100 card It's a special one Until then, see you. Love you all. Support for this show comes from Volkswagen.
