MMA Fighting - On To The Next One: Is Carlos Ulberg The No. 1 Contender After UFC Perth?
Episode Date: September 28, 2025Carlos Ulberg has done just about everything he can to make his case for a title shot. “Black Jag” was already on a red hot win streak with eight straight wins, but he put an exclamation point on...t hat run Saturday with a first-round knockout of the resurgent Dominick Reyes. With Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira rematching for the light heavyweight championship at UFC 320 next Saturday and top contenders Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree also on that card, is there still too much noise at the top of the division for Ulberg to get his opportunity? On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Alexander K. Lee discuss whether Ulberg has placed himself firmly at the front of the contender pack with his statement win. Additionally, future matchups are discussed for Jimmy Crute, Jack Jenkins, budding Hall of Fame candidate Neil Magny, top lightweight prospect Tom Nolan, and more. Plus, what to make of the public and critical reception to UFC Perth, and listener picks to close out the show. Follow Mike Heck: @m_heckjr Follow Alexander K. Oh, hello there, everybody, and welcome to a brand new edition of On to the next one.
The matchmaking crowns are back after a brief hiatus.
We had no UFC event last weekend, but the UFC said, you know what?
They miss us.
So we got to go to Perth.
We got to give them the most Perth card that there ever was Perth.
Unbelievable.
Not a ton of stakes on this card.
but the big one, the main event, had a lot of significant stakes.
And the question is, is Carlos Oldberg going to fight for a UFC title in his next fight?
That question being answered and much more from a matchmaking perspective on today's edition of the program.
I am Mike Kekin.
Joining me as always, I miss this man so much after the hiatus, the co-host, the co-matchmaker, the Prince of Positivity,
and my best friend Alexander Cayley, aka.
Are we, am I even on the same level as you anymore?
You're here asking the rock questions at media junkets and now you get to settle for little old me.
Rob, please.
I would pick talking to you a hundred times over the rock any day.
Trust me, my best friend, Doug.
Thanks to Dwayne Johnson, Mark Kerr, Benny Safty and everyone for doing that media junket.
But this is where I want to be.
This is the best spot.
My best friend, you very, I think that was like the kindest way to describe your C perk.
He said it didn't have a lot of stakes.
That's like the nicest thing you can say.
I'm currently on a little vegetarian diet, by the way.
I'm with my wife.
We're sort of celebrating Navrati.
And I have come closer to having stakes than this card.
Okay, that is, God, that's people, that was tough.
That was a long way to get there.
That was long.
So many people are just shaking their head right now.
Just like, that was, it's not my best.
It's not my best, all right?
But yes, I think you were very kind to describe.
this card that way because
a lot of people were not so nice, Mike.
A lot of people were not so nice about describing this card.
I saw a lot of comments on social media
that didn't love the card as it was happening.
It didn't.
I admit, I was not, I did not watch a lot of this live.
Kept up in my fighting.
Cut up with some of the highlights.
Mike, what was the vibe with this?
It doesn't look, it was terrible.
I think like you said, low stakes is probably the biggest knock on it.
But action-wise, I mean, how do they do?
what's like it wasn't
I don't know how to describe it was like a step above an apex card
that's what it felt like and it and even the way it was being
it sounded on the broadcast it felt like a step above the apex
it felt dead it felt like nobody was there
and we had some people chime in who were there
they chimed in during the post show and said yeah dead crowd
uh 80% full I know they
discounted tickets.
Your favorite UFC executive
Dave Shaw said
largest Australia
fight night gate ever
for the UFC
which I mean
if we're being honest
the last time they were there for a fight night
was Adelaide
it was 2018 or seven years ago
and even with the discounted prices
of like 175 and 50 bucks
that they were going for
like it's still probably more
expensive than what they were
selling in 2018.
So I would really like do a victory lap for that, especially with the way it's out on TV.
But yeah, it wasn't, it wasn't great.
I mean, the main event's really all that mattered.
But I looked, this card felt the way it looked on paper.
It was just like, we got to get over, we got to get through this as fast as possible.
Unfortunately, it took a really long time.
I felt like I was watching that card for 14 hours.
but the best part about UFC Perth is now it's over, AK.
Now it's over and it's UFC 320 time and we'll run down that frigging fight card.
I'm actually really excited to run down that fight card in a moment.
But, AK, let's just get right into this thing.
Carl Solberg made me sad, made a lot of people sad.
Maybe not like his teammates and Eugene Baraman and the city kickboxing crew.
but for all those who love a comeback story,
who love the fairy tale ending in sports,
Dominic Reyes,
we were throwing dirt upon the grave of his career,
has this reemergence,
getting three straight knockouts,
and literally put in a number one contender opportunity
to get back to a title fight.
The Rudy,
Rudy Rudiger story of mixed martial arts
was won Dominic Reyes,
and unfortunately,
Dominic Reyes decided not to really show up here.
I mean, I'm not trying to take anything away from Carlos Olberg.
Dominic Reyes looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.
He was so hesitant in this fight.
And it's not like Carlos Olberg was out there just throwing a hundred punches.
This man was not Max Holloway out there.
He just kind of sat back and waited.
Carl, you want to know how many total strikes were landed in this four minutes of 27 seconds,
AK?
Between the two of them?
Yeah.
I'm going to say, I have not looked at you, see, sysd.com.
I'm going to say 14.
16.
11 of them came from Carlos Oldberg.
Five.
Five came from Dominic Reyes.
And as Jed pointed out on the post-fight show, that might even be a little bit generous.
But Carlos Soltberg, and I want to say this, because it's not often we get to say this.
I said this in the post-fight show.
And Damon Martin's going to hate me for doing this.
shout out to Dominic Cruz.
I thought Dominic Cruz did a really good job last night.
It's nice when he doesn't have Daniel Cormier
and Joe Rogan and Michael Bisbing
trying to like alpha mail him
so he feels like he has to alpha mail them back.
It was Brennan Fitzgerald, Paul Felder, and Dominic Cruz,
which I'm going to say this.
If it's not the A team,
this should be the fight night team every single time.
Because Cruz is spectacular.
And Cruz set up this knockout from Carl
Charles Oldberg beautifully and did it like two minutes before he said Carl Soberg is going to sit back he's
going to take a couple steps back he's going to wait for dominic reyes to charge in and get impatient
and what he does he's going to hit him with the left hand and he's going to hit him with the right hand
and then the fight could be overshare they're after it sure it up 90 seconds later here comes
carl soberg taking a back step like he'd been doing the entire round but kind of did like a
half back step and then lands the big combination this reyes comes in and gets the knockout
Carlos Oberg says he talked to Hunter Campbell.
He's taking a trip to Las Vegas.
He's going to watch the main event of UFC 320 in person next week.
But, A.K., that doesn't mean anything.
Because remember what happened for UFC 319?
Ryan Ear DeRitter was there.
Anthony Hernandez was there.
Neither of them got a title shot.
Is Carlos Oldberg about to fight for a UFC title, AK?
Is it happening?
Is that what's next for?
Charles Lover. You forgot to mention Patty Pimblatt stepping into the cage with Ilytoporia,
and we still don't have that fight books. Like, I don't know what the reluctance is to just like,
just do it. Like I know, I know there's other options. Like I'm going to be a whole debate,
but it was right there. You can apparently literally be in the cage with the champion and have like
a whole social media buzzing, have fans in the arena, like cheering. And then they're still going
to be like, yeah, maybe we're going a different direction. Yeah, I mean, listen, for me,
I think Carl Zolberg has done enough. I think he's,
done enough. I think I think nine straight wins is a lot. There's a, it is the longest win streak in the
division. Uh, Ankleiv has a longer unbeaten streak, but there's a draw on there. There's no contest in there.
Um, I think if you don't want, yeah, I mean, you can't even roll out the draw. So
Alberg, the hottest fighter in the light heavyweight division. Uh, he needs to put an
exclamation point on his, his candidacy. I mean, I think that's what everyone was asking for,
that Jan Blakovich's fight left people very dissatisfied, understandably so. Now he knocks out Dominic
Rayis. Okay. And you can talk about like it was a favorable matchup. Like Mike, I think
the way you were, um, what I was discussing how Cruz broke it down. Like I was, I was on the same
page with that. Like, I was really worried about Dominic Reyes. Like, you know, he has quite a bit
of an athleticism advantage over people usually. I think we saw that Nancy Smith fight. We saw
that in the Krillov fight. He did not have that advantage against Ulberg. Um, and Ollberg's
got this really beautiful jab and it certainly would use to eventually set up the finish and just cracked
him with that two shots at the end and put him down. So it was beautiful. Um, so yeah, I, I,
I think I think Ulberg has done it up.
I'm probably just leaning towards him because he's fresh
because there'd be nothing wrong.
You know, if Khalil Roundtree or Yuri Prohachka
score a big knockout next weekend,
of course they'll have a ton of momentum.
A lot more name value can call us Ulberg.
I'll understand if they want to put one of them up
back into another title opportunity.
Prohashka, obviously, less likely if Pareda wins.
I think running him back a third time Pareda just isn't going to happen.
But Roundtree and Pareda, too,
you could probably talk people into.
The first fight was so memorable.
And then, of course, either guy would be a new opponent for Anka-Liav.
So I get it.
I get it.
I think Ollberg's a little bit on the outside looking in.
But I think those guys also, there's a chance they might take time off after their fight.
Not sure.
I'm expecting something pretty brutal.
If that's the case, Carlos Ollberg has barely been touched.
He's fresh as a daisy.
I think he might weigh in as the backup.
I think he's offering to do.
do so. It's going to be
Elberg, Mike. He's going to get that ankyla of
Fadeta winner. It's also
contingent on whether Fadetta, what he decides to do,
maybe he wins, and as people
said, just says, screw it, I'm not going to defend the title.
I'm going up to heavyweight. There's a lot, there's a lot
of moving parts. But
if everything stays the same and
someone just needs a title
challenger after 320,
it will be Carlos Ober. I think
it would be complete
blasphemy if Carlos Oberg's next
fight is not for the belt.
I just don't know if he will be next to fight for that belt, if that makes sense.
If Alex Pereira wins, on Saturday, Carlos Olberg's fighting for the title.
Like, whether it's against Pereira or if Pereira like vacates and goes to heavyweight or something,
Olberg is part of that equation, no doubt about it.
But if Maghamed Anka Laiif wins, he ain't fighting for the belt next.
he's just not because there's just as good as this win was no one's going to remember this performance
in six days because there is not a world where Yuri Perashka Cleo Roundtree is not friggin spectacular
and no one will remember like they'll show Carl Solberg in the crowd and that'll be like oh yeah
remember when he docked out Dominic Reyes six days ago no one's going to care because
Cleal and Eurega beat the shit out of each other and put out a fight of the year type fight
and probably going to be a big finish.
And that is going to be the bitter taste, I guess, for Carlos Oldberg is that while the timing is good,
maybe it wasn't good enough.
Maybe he should have fought Dominic Grace at UFC 320.
So it all depends what happens.
But if Oberg has to wait a year to fight for the belt, he absolutely should.
And this is a good win.
This is exactly what you need to do.
his next fight will be for the belt, but it could be a long-ass time before that happens.
So we shall see Goodwin for the handsome Carlos Oldberg.
And we'll see where Dominic Reyes goes.
Hurt my feelings.
I love the feel-good story.
The M.A. gods haven't, they don't shine upon us all that often.
And they were just like, we're taking the night off again.
You were one of the drivers of the Dominic Reyes could fight for the title again trained.
You really, you really got your teeth into that story, Mike.
I know.
And it was, again, once we saw him match up with Kirlob, we're like, man, if he, if he knocks out Krilov, which he could, it's a realistic story.
And I think, I guess that's what I have to ask now, Mike, is, is it over?
So is there no way he can, light heavy weight is pretty sparse, but do you think, like, Dominic Reyes cannot, cannot climb his way back?
He's at the same age as Ulberg, right?
I think he's, like, nine months older or something.
So it's not, he's maybe a bit more.
And I think the mileage is similar, too, because Oldberg got like a kickboxing career before
MMA.
So it's not like Reyes is physically cooked.
Though seeing him, again, by knockout was certainly tough to watch.
But you think that's it?
You think if he gets, let's say he wins his next fight against top 15-ish, top 20-ish person,
like they kind of, you know, dial him back, and then gets another top 10 opponent.
I can't imagine who at the moment, but gets top 10 opponent.
And then he's that guy.
It's hard to say because we don't know what the heavyweight title picture will look like in,
like 18 months or whatever it is.
But what do you think?
I mean, it's not, is it
it's not impossible.
Obviously, I wouldn't ask you if it's impossible,
but you wouldn't bet.
No, he's going to be 36
in like three months.
It's light heavyweight.
It is light heavy weight.
It's bad, but like,
who's he going to fight?
I don't know.
At this point, he's literally fought, like,
he's fought every single guy.
Really?
Like, I have no interest in watching him
fight Khalil Roundtree.
Like, I don't want to see that.
That, that, that, that, that stings.
That stings that hurts.
Like, do I want to watch him fight Azabat Mirzikonov after Mirzikov wins his next
fight?
No, I don't want to see Dominic Reyes fight him.
But like, these are the guys he's going to have to fight if he's got to get a title shot.
So I will say no.
But it's like 98.9% that it's a no.
Can I spoil some of the listener's suggestions?
Because I think they had a good, I'm sure you got this too.
They had a pretty good thing for Dominic Ray.
Because we're not doing Dominic Reyes right now.
Jamal Hill.
Thorisly and Jamal Hill makes a lot of sense, right?
You know, if you fought Jamal Hill and beat Jamal Hill, I mean, that's a top 10 guy.
I don't know.
Maybe it keeps him the conversation.
Can you imagine how the MMA community would feel if the man who basically like put the nail in the coffin of Dominic Reyes's career was Jamal Hill?
He would never shut up about it.
He would never shut up.
He would be like, he'd be like, I beat the guy who beat John Jones.
Law of transitive properties.
I essentially beat John Jones.
Which is what he should do, by the way.
I'm not saying that to touch shit.
It makes a lot of sense, though.
It makes a ton of that match that makes a ton of sense.
Jamal Hill needs to go on like a positive PR campaign.
And I feel like him fighting Dominic Reyes would be like the worst thing he could do.
Unless he was super respectful, which, I mean, it's Jamal Hill.
Besides like,
I would have beat the shit out of Alex Pereira
had it been any other day by UFC 300.
It's like jump off that train.
But yeah, maybe you go fight like anybody else
and you'll be okay.
So congrats to Carlos Oberg.
We'll see what happens to Dominic Reyes.
Sticking with light heavyweight, AK,
because this is not enough to have a light heavyweight main event.
We got to have a light heavyweight co-main event as well.
But shout out to Jimmy Crude, AK,
with the freaking Steiner Recloth.
Wagner.
Wow.
On Erslan.
Like, just so fun.
You don't see that every day.
And I loved every second of it.
So congratulations to Jimmy Crute.
And now it's going to be an international affair,
aka as James Croutte will take on Paris's own,
Umar C.
Oh, okay.
The star of UFC Paris, the, uh, my goodness, me.
Uh, yeah, that's good.
I also went international.
Congrats to Jimmy Krupp, by the way.
You know, early this year, got his first win since 2020.
And now in his first win streak since 2020.
And also, congrats to the matchmakers.
Mike, this is perfect matchmaking.
They got the, I'm sorry, Yvonne Arsla.
They got, like, the worst light heavyweight,
one of the worst light weights in the division and just threw him out there,
knowing that Jimmy Kruitt would get a finish.
And Jimmy Kruid did his part and delivered.
Both guys did their part.
It takes two.
It takes two to make a crowd happy.
So good job, guys.
I went a little higher than UMRC.
I assume you might have matched this gap already, Mike,
but I think he can get Zhang Mingyang.
Yeah, I bet.
I imagine it's going to.
Yeah, okay.
I forget against who, but.
I think it's possible.
Yeah, somebody's probably going to beat.
But yeah, it wasn't.
But yeah, I thought about that one.
It's 29.
Jim, Kurt is 29 years old.
That's crazy.
I feel like he's 50.
he's been in the, he's just had a lot of health setbacks, like injuries and stuff, and he's been, he's approaching like 10 years in the game.
So it's a lot of mileage, but I don't know, man.
Maybe there's still something here.
It's so hard.
It's one of those guys that we've kind of seen him grow up in the UFC.
So I think we have a pretty good idea of what a ceiling is.
But I don't know.
Like, is he really this going to be the same fighter when he's 31, 33?
Maybe he'll be better.
Maybe he'll be worse.
I don't know.
But I can't quit Jimmy Kruh just yet.
I think, I feel like there's like a weird, like, I feel like he could still crack that top.
10 someday. And then after that, the sky's the limit.
But we'll see. Good for him. Good for him.
Two fight with street. Yeah. I mean, just picture perfect matchmaking.
If you want to make Jimmy Kruh look good. I think the matchmaking overall was really good.
Yes.
For like the local crowd, I think they nailed it. Like they, there's like, how can we put Australia
in the Kiwis over? Let's just give them these fights.
Good win there. And good win for Jack Jenkins, taking on a man who,
missed weight. Again.
Again, Ramon Tavares. I don't understand why this keeps happening, but it happened.
And Jack just kind of, you know, workman-like, unanimous decision.
I don't think the result or the fight surprised anybody.
Featherweight is fun. I think Jack is a nice, like, enjoyable addition to it.
Not a guy who's probably going to get a ranking or maybe even crack the top 25.
but still he's not really in boring fights.
So what do we do with fire Jack Jenkins here?
Total dart throw, man.
Stephen Gwynn? I don't know.
I just think it'd be an exciting fight.
That's it.
But otherwise, again, I'm not moving Jenkins up against like a top 25 opponent or anything like that.
He's a fun guy.
It's a fun guy.
Like I said, the result was just pretty predictable.
We could have done this matchmaking probably before the show.
The fight even happened.
Sorry, Ramon.
Sorry, Ramon DeVarce.
But, first of all, Ramon, man, get that wait situation, started out.
This is ridiculous.
Missed on contender series.
Missed in the UFC at Bantamweight.
And now missed a featherweight.
Like, this is guys, just, yeah, I don't know what's going on in your lives.
Same with the, who was it?
It was Justin, right?
Justin Tafa that got removed.
Well, they both got, I mean, Justin and Jr.,
but it was Justin that got removed because.
Yeah, we were Tophilus.
So what a horrible thing to say.
I think they said illness, but it sounds like there might have been
that Louis Sutherland was certainly one on social media
and definitely sounds like there was some weight-cutting issues.
Justin, let us not forget, is the only fighter in UFC history
to like miss, to officially miss heavyweight.
I guess we're not counting this one, but he did show up like one pound over,
I think like 267 for a fight once, which is just insane.
So again, as I always say, I hope everything's okay with Justin Tapa,
but this is a really, really, really bad look.
So guys, just get your.
way right, man. Get your weight right between
fights.
I just want with Jack Jenkins
versus Darren Elkins.
That's just what I did.
I got no real explanation for it.
Just rankings wise, it makes like somewhat
sense and there's no way
that's a bad fight.
And it's a fight that either can win.
So yeah, we'll go that route.
The comeback kid,
AKA Neil Magdy,
weird fight,
super weird.
And he's fighting Jake Matthews, who nobody can quit on.
Jed couldn't quit on him.
I'm sure Shaheen Al-Shadi hasn't quit on Jake Matthews either.
And Jake Matthews called for Neil Magni after his last fight.
He did the thing.
And almost got to finish in round one.
Referey makes a mistake.
Yeah.
It's his mistake.
And then carries on as if that mistake didn't happen.
And Neil Magne heads into round three down two rounds,
nearly finish in round one.
And like I said on the People's Pre-Fight Show,
AK, Neil Maggi did exactly what I said he was going to do.
He was going to come from behind.
Every time.
Get a third round submission.
Not quite the Mike Ballot ball drop,
but somewhat similar.
And that's what we got.
Neil Magny, the Haitian sensation,
24th, Walter Wade victory.
He is now, I believe,
three wins behind Jim Miller
for the most wins in UFC history.
unbelievable stuff.
And now the timing could not be better for one Neil Bagney
because there is a fight between
two somewhat known names,
both coming off wins. One is surging.
There's a fight happening at UFC 320 between Austin Vanderford
and Ramizs and Brahimaj.
The winner of that gets the Neil Magni fight next.
Because this is where Neil is.
he is the
he's the goal tender to the top 15
it's either the puck goes in
or he makes the save
he's Curtis Joseph out there
so that's what the old Magni is and
I think these are both
really interesting fights so
that's what I'm going with
dang okay uh yeah
you know uh
my gosh
are you muted okay oh I'm muted I'm so sorry
am I muted? Am I muted?
Can you hear me?
I cannot hear you at all
that's weird
Oh, there we go. Now I hear you.
What happened?
I don't know. It was my head phone.
Hold, I'll pick up.
Mike, you weren't on Friday's preview show.
I wanted to ask, did you see the discussion we had about Magny's Hall of Fame credentials?
I don't know where you stand on this topic.
Well, Casey put it over.
He was like he's officially a Hall of Fame or now after the swim.
I mean, he kind of happened.
He had a decent case before.
And now, like you said, 24 wins.
He just passed.
He was tied with Ander Alasky, who's not in the U.C.
Hall of Fame, right?
But I think it will be.
I think it has to be at some point.
Donald Soroni, Max Holloway, of course, would be a Hall of Famer.
And Charles Oliver, who will also be a Hall of Famer.
He passed them.
He was tied for a second.
Now, he is in sole position of second.
Like you said, trailing only the great Jim Miller.
Whether he reaches passes Jim Miller or not, I don't think it matters.
I think if he even gets one more win, like 25 wins.
that might be what used to be
is our NBA reference
but it used to be in the NBA if you had 20,000 points
you were locked for the Hall of Fame. I don't know that's the case anymore.
So maybe 25 UFC wins,
which again, if you gets it, it'll just be a club
of two at that point. Maybe in the future more people
will hit that number. You kind of have to
give it to them. Most welterweight
appearances, I think, by a mile at this point.
Man, I like it. I just like the idea
of Neil Nagy getting in there. But I get it.
It feels like there has to be tears to the Hall of
fame at this point, right? Because you've got the champions and legends and it feels weird to put them in there
with like, again, Soroni, Jim Miller, Neil Magnet. Guys who didn't win titles and a couple of whom
didn't even get the chance to fight for a title. So I don't know. I like it. So you're down,
you're down with that, right, Mike? I'm okay with it. I don't hate it. Yeah. I think, you know what the thing
is, I don't want to go to a whole Hall of Fame rant here is, I think, and it's a credit to the
UFC, I guess, and also the fact that, you know, just to be honest, the Hall of Fame is not even
that old. It has not been diluted yet. I think that's fair. I think if you go to any sport,
baseball, basketball, NFL, they've just been around for decades. Their Hall of Fame has been
around for decades. And you're going to have guys who are like, oh, this guy's in the Hall of Fame.
Like, I kind of like him. I didn't believe he knows a Hall of Famer. But yeah, that's how it happens.
Sometimes also nostalgia. We start to look back on some players and athletes with more.
But that hasn't happened to the UFC yet. We'll see. Maybe Soroni is the one that kind of start
tipping in that direction. But I think Jim Miller has to make it. And I don't know, I like Maggie too.
Mike, what did you think of the, the controversy at the end?
Again, I wasn't watching live.
So having had the chance to sort of look and look back on it with a little more like just objectivity.
It's kind of like it feels like the right thing.
Like the referee screwed up.
No question.
By the letter of the law, this should be like a no contest.
Correct.
But Neil Magnet was not out.
And it didn't, it was two seconds left, right, Mike?
Like it didn't affect the outcome.
It's not like it didn't screw Jake Matthews, right?
It's not like he would have finished the submission and choked him out for real if the referee hadn't intervened.
Is that fair to say?
I mean, depends on how much time.
But like if the horn, if the horn sounded before the rep jumped in, Neil would have still jumped right back to his.
Yeah, yeah.
Neil Magnet was not actually in danger of being finished in that moment.
Is that fair to say?
So it's like, ah, a clear screw up, a clear screw up.
And again, rules, rule, Mike.
you know, I always say that.
And if I were judging this
as objectively as possible,
I would say, and it was my call,
I would say, yes, this should be a no contest.
But it didn't really change the outcome.
Right.
The referee messed it up.
Yeah.
You messed it up.
It was a clear mistake.
And by the letter of the law,
yeah, it should be a no contest.
So, you know,
I think it was fine.
I think it was fine.
It's weird.
It's kind of, it's, it's, it's, it's,
I said this in the post-fight show.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Jake Matthews is not the fighter who got screwed the most by the referee.
Josias Musasa was 100% screwed by the referee because Colby thickness is, I mean, in the end of the first round, Colby Thickness literally has a full on rear naked choke on this man.
I don't know how long was, but it was like 40 seconds.
And Josiah Musasa, AK, is not even trying to defend this.
it is locked in his neck could not be higher in the air as this dude is it locked in and we're just like
oh this is definitely over and moussasa's just like he's putting the thumb up he's acting like he's
literally sleeping in a hammock and then the round ends and like you think moussasa's gonna be
laying on the mat and no he just like jumps right back up and walks back to the stool and then
Musassiz just beats that Colby thickness ass in round two.
Just beating him up.
Round three starts with sausage, just beating them up.
And what does Colby thickness do?
Craftfully cheated his ass off.
Kick this dude in the balls with like a Tom Tupa-like Super Bowl punt.
I mean, this to me, I don't want to call it a guy's integrity.
He purposely kicked this dude in the balls.
like it could not have been a more purposeful kick to the nuts and what did the referee do nothing he didn't do shit
this totally changed the entire complexity of the fight no point taken almost asa got was like four and a half minutes to like try to get his nuts back together
and then colby wins the fight it gets a taked out of wins this clearly affected the fight the point should have been taken no matter what accidental or not
When you punt a dude in the nuts after the whole momentum of the fight change, you have to take point.
It affected everything and nothing happened.
So I actually feel worse for Josias Musasa that I do for Jake Matthews on the Sunday morning.
Well, Colby thickness, he got away with it.
He got away with it, right?
Colby thickness did nothing wrong, right?
Colby thick.
No.
Apparently did nothing wrong.
He was very smart.
He was very smart.
He was getting tuned up on the feet.
This is not going well.
So he took a shot in the dark
and said, I'm just going to ruin this guy's life
and probably win the fight.
And just a direct, I mean,
I have not seen a more clean kick to the balls
than I saw in that moment.
This was a referee Jim Perdios.
So Jeffrey Jim Perthios, maybe, you know,
be a little bit more.
Take a fucking point.
Like, enough.
But, you know, Mike, you know what Josiah's got from this stuff?
He got a lesson.
He learned a lesson.
He's very young in his career.
And he sometimes,
you need this crap to happen to you i don't wish anyone to get kicking the nuts that should be how
you have to learn your lesson i may but he'll he'll he'll remember this he will most definitely
remember this moment um and hopefully we'll look back on this as like his his uh marab getting like
choked up by rickie simone moments you know what i mean like this is just kind of this weird
thing that happened and murky officiating and then he'll go on a run so we'll see a lot of
a lot of talent with josias very tough circumstances for his two fights just like a way more experienced
fighter when he bought Carlos Vera and like you said here it's just a way more vicious nut
kicking that may have may have heard his performance slightly my comment on slack was
Usasa should win this fight he won't win but he should because all that happened in round
three after getting kicked in the balls was Colby got a take down he didn't mount
to Usasa but did absolutely nothing and was also like tuned him up for the first minute of the
round before he got illegally kicked in the balls so yeah it was just a weird fight
feel bad for Mr. Grisostas this morning.
But happy for Neil Magny.
Let's accept the record streak.
And speaking of Jim Miller, A.K., I'm just going to get this out of the way.
Tom Nolan beat Charlie Campbell.
Fun fight.
I'm doing Tom Nolan versus Jim Miller.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Let's just do it.
Why not?
Yeah, Nolan's on a good run.
I went with a more boring veteran choice.
I was like Joachim Silva.
But I get what you're saying.
He's on a run.
let's give him a chance to sort of move up in the rankings.
And that's like a huge jump up.
I think Miller and...
Yeah, I imagine Miller and Silva would both be above him,
but not no more than like, I don't know, five or six spots maybe.
Lightweight's pretty deep.
There's just so many lightweight fighters.
Yeah, I like Nolan a lot.
He was Jedmishu's number one prospect from that season of the Contender Series.
And again, outside of that kind of blip against Nicholas Motta,
I think he's done a pretty good job of backing up that height.
So, yeah, it's about time to sort of just step up the level of competition
a little bit.
He's been fighting tough opponents,
but guys who are,
you know,
I think in regards to talent level,
I would say perceived as being not as good as him.
So,
yes,
now let's put that talent up against some experience,
walking together,
walking up there in the rankings.
Yeah,
it's good.
But Tom Nolan,
looking good.
I'm good at one point.
Good fight.
That fight saved the entire event,
in my opinion.
Because those two just,
that was the best fight of the card for sure until it was over.
Just good stuff.
Campbell dropped Nolan immediately.
this is a great fight because Lightway Rocks and actually Charlie Campbell's a pretty talented guy.
I'm actually pretty decently high on him.
So I thought this is a great win for Tom Nolan.
Let's go to the wild card round, AK.
We'll select one fighter.
We've not match made four.
It will match make four of them now.
There was a women's bantamweight fight on this card, AK.
So did Michelle Montague get your wild card pick today?
That's right.
That's right.
My order of wild cards goes, was there an ultimate fighter finale on the card too?
was their women's band to wage fighting the card.
And, well, those were one and two, Mike.
My new number one is,
did either Ivan Arslan or Ivo Aslan fight in the card.
And we were almost supposed to get...
I think people know my wild card pick is.
I am going with one of the losers.
Yes, I'm going with Yvonne Ursula.
Keep him around, UFC.
Keep him around, please.
Don't cut him just yet.
I know he's 0 and 3.
But you're keeping this guy around for a reason.
I mean, you expected him to lose.
Don't punish him because you put him in what was
supposed to be a squash match with a home region favorite Jimmy Crute.
Aslan was supposed to fight Junior Tafa.
They were just killing me by having Aslan and Erslan on the same card and not having to fight each other.
We can still fix this, guys.
We can still fix this.
Give me Aslan, Ercelon, Erslan.
I don't care when.
I don't care where.
Hopefully before the end of the year, I can wait until 2026.
I can wait until 2027.
I want Aslan, Ercelon.
I need this, Mike.
The people need this.
This, this, I'm glad they broke a fight night gate record.
But this would have sold out the damn arena.
All right, this would have sold out RIC arena.
I figured that Navajo Sterling would not be your pick because he called out Ibo-A-A-Azlan and said he said evil Oslan and said.
What?
He said he said evil-A-Slan sucked and he wants to fight him.
Wait, he wants to have wins over Aslan and Ursula?
I guess.
I mean, Oslo, you absolutely suck.
I want to fight you.
Essentially what he said.
Which is like, now if he loses to him, like his career is over before it even starts.
He won't.
He won't.
I don't think.
I think he would.
You know what?
I don't like it because I want to see them fight each other.
But being, you know, being the guy who beat Aslan and Ercelon would, I don't know.
Okay.
He could be the guy that actually sets that fight up.
He could be the final boss for what you want.
So, I mean, look, there's not much here.
If we're being honest, I will tell you, I will tell you the fighter that stood out the most to me.
from just a like talent perspective outside of carl sloberg
it was the first fight of the night
alexia tynara
she's good man
like we knew she was good i knew i was effed when i drafted molly mccan
in my fantasy team last season
and molly mccan was about to get like a easy layup submission win
and then it's like oh no she's hurt so now she's gonna fight
alexia tinar i'm like
you gotta be shit me and i knew i was effed and i
no chance of getting points. Second time. Second time
that happened to you with that last year, the Alessandro,
it was Alessandro Costa, Alessandro Costa match now.
And you were like, I'm getting 200 points.
I get 200 points. Like Cody Durdon gets,
steps in and gets the quick finish.
So, uh, Tynar is good.
She's going to be a ranked UFC strawweight after two fights come
Tuesday because Loma Lekbunee was the number 14 ranked fighter.
And I know, like, Luma's, I know Loma's lost before.
It'd been a while since she's last lost.
But even so, like,
I haven't seen a fighter just kind of like beat her ass like that.
And that's what Tynar did.
30-7s across the board.
I have a lot of respect for Lomalukboot me.
I think she's a great fighter.
And I thought Tynar did a terrific job.
She is physical.
She hits real hard.
She's a terrific grappler.
She is someone I will be paying very close attention to.
And as Jed beautifully pointed out on the post-fight show,
it's nice to have just a new person in this division that is not the same 10 people who have been ranked for a while.
So having said that, the next step is, and it's been this way for like a decade, you have to fight someone associated with Tisha Torres or Tisha Torres herself, now known as Tisha Pennington.
And it just so happens, Zakey.
In about five weeks time, in the world's most famous apex, Tisha Pennington is fighting Deniseie Gome.
the winner of that fight faces Ty Nara.
Perfect.
Easy.
Easy, easy.
Nice tidy match making my best friend.
Very nice and tidy.
Yes.
Let's go to the peeps.
I don't.
Oh, please.
Let's do it.
Yes, let's go to the peeps, but let me check the tapes first of a little.
Because I did say I would, I wanted to, we want to praise anyone who actually showed up to,
RIC arena and stayed for all.
Well, I guess it wasn't as grueling as it could have been.
It was originally, I think long, long ago there was like theoretically 16 fights being
discussed for this carter.
something. It got down to like 14 official fights and then by the time fight and I rolled
around, it was just like a normal fight card. I like 12 fights. But, but there's a lot of commitments
still, I think, to show up with this card from top to bottom. So I will shout out someone who was
keeping us updated throughout the week. I'm sorry, I have to find this gentleman's name again.
Jono, Manchester. I believe you. You apparently went to all the events during fight week,
showed up in the first prelim to the main event. So congrats to you. Congrats to you and everyone else
out there but joanel's another one who let us know uh i want to read an email from zoe simpson
show show show's of course been on the show before a hoi from down under not in otno but i did
promise yes that we would talk about this uh on your pre-fight show he said anybody who was there
first fight message you for shout out otno she says her husband mikey was there from the first
fight uh he didn't even have a ticket mike until 16 hours before the event so this was not
someone who committed to this event like you know a month ago i was like well car didn't get any better
but I bought the tickets already.
I've got the air.
She's a 16 hours for the event.
He decided to go, oh, no, spirited by the pre-fight show from Jed Casey and I.
Oh, no, we were responsible for this person spending money and flying to Perth.
He bought himself a $75 Australian dollar ticket,
jumped out a four-hour plane from Melbourne and was there from the opening bell.
Ozzy, Ozzy, Azi, P.S., no picks, but Joe Martinez shown on the microphone tonight.
He always does.
He always does.
We love ourselves from Joe Martinez.
And Casey Carpenter, long-time friend of the show,
just wanted to say goodbye to fellow Casey E Casey Knight.
So that's just some nice messages there for Check the Taves, Mike.
We can go to the listener picks.
As expected, I got very few because it was this card.
So let's start with Dawson Boyd.
Hey, Mike, got my picks for UFC Perth.
Carlos Oldberg versus Poetan after regaining the title,
calling my shot for that.
Not No Point.
I'm sure there are others who have that same exact take.
Jimmy Kruve versus Dustin Jacoby.
I bet that's probably a popular one for you, AK.
Jack Jenkins versus Dandy Silva, Neil Magny,
versus Bernat Fakhradinoff,
Tom Nolan versus Jordan Levitt.
Chris London, Allberg title shot,
Dominic Reyes versus no, no, no, no, no, no.
Does that what happened?
Oh, uh-oh, Mike looks disturbed.
I just have to double check.
He looks, he looks rattled.
I knew there was some do-do happening.
And I've confirmed the do-do.
Rackage is booked against Asimat Mirzikhanov, a UFC 321.
So we have to drop the do-do hammer right away.
I mean, just kind of had a little something, something.
I knew it a bit okay.
Jimmy Kruv versus Volkan Ozedamir.
Are we ready to throw James Kruh.
Root in there with the past title challenger?
Yeah, I like that.
I like that.
Again, it's so weird to book to me because he is a veteran.
Like, he's been in the UFC for a while, but it feels like there's a lot of lost time with injuries and stuff.
So we don't have to push him quickly, but he is in that.
It feels like he should be in that range by now.
He was ranked at some point.
I remember the UFC ranking.
He was, I think he made it as high as maybe 12, 13.
Like, he was in there.
So this would be back sort of in that range-ish.
So I don't have a problem with that.
Sorry, A.K.
Erzahn versus Mingyang Zhang
What?
Oh no, that's fine.
I get it.
We want to sort of have I bounce back for Zhang
after that sort of letdown at UFC Shang.
I get it.
We're booking squash matches.
It's fine.
It's fine, guys.
I get it.
I mean, that is incredible squash match.
You don't know.
You don't know.
I think I know.
Zhang would be minus 850 or something.
Like he would just be a monster.
Probably higher.
Gosh.
Yeah, probably I are.
Jack Jenkins versus Pat Zabbatini, excuse me, Magni versus Salikoff, Matthews versus Gunner Nelson.
Sterling versus Kuchelaba.
I saw that.
That's okay.
I don't like that.
Why?
He's not ready.
I think he loses that fight.
Ooh, okay.
Yeah.
He's just, there's no way.
There's no rush.
He's, he's very green.
He's very green.
Head off of Bolato is probably like the sixth.
75th best heavyweight in the world.
He struggled a little bit in that fight,
way more than I thought he would.
So I think Kutelava kind of has the type of style
that could give Sterling some problems.
I think we're a little too soon for that one,
but I respect it.
And Tom Nolan versus King Green is the final selection.
We talked about veteran tests.
I guess same ranges we're talking about.
We said veteran test.
Veteran test for this guy next.
All right.
We'll end with left lane.
see if we get anything new here.
He got it right.
Take some notes.
Reyes versus the Rackich versus Kanoff winner.
See, there you have it.
Nice.
Jenkins versus Feeley.
Wow, he likes Nolan versus Green too.
Interesting.
Magny versus Wonderboy.
I mean, it's like age-appropriate matchmaking,
but like I still kind of hate it.
I've always liked it.
I just feel like for summary,
it just feels like there's never been
Has Magny called him out?
Magny's called him out, no?
Maybe for like a cup of coffee or something.
Like, it's probably the most respectful call whatever.
Like, hey, pal, let's get in there and do it.
I mean, it's fine.
I just think, like, stylistically, that fight could be real bad.
Yeah, quite possibly, yeah.
Yeah.
But I get it.
Boy, Sterling versus Oslob.
He's all over this.
Left plate is all over this.
He's ruining the vibes.
Or perhaps they're going to.
get it better. Cam Rousden versus Brad Tavares? Wow. That's our first
Cam Rousden mentioned on this show.
Man, great. This was his debut, right? He's off Contender Series.
Earlier, he's like a 2025 Contender Series signing. He's like signed this year.
Signed this year. It was the second appearance on the program.
Oh.
Because you know who he fought the first time on the program?
No.
Your favorite fighter of all time. He's on the roster.
Oh, Torres Finney.
Correct.
Correct.
That's so sad that that prompt worked.
Cam Rousson was so tough in that fight that Torres Fetty didn't even get a contract in that victory of the Cambrowski.
Maybe that win ages so gracefully now.
Maybe we have to run it back inside the Halladuct gone.
Malarkey Hardwick, Colby versus Luna, Montague versus Cornoli, Perichick versus Peterson.
After he gets slept by Vitor, he did have a caveat.
and Tynera versus Jascondraj.
I was actually thinking about that.
I didn't pull the trigger just yet on Androge,
but I was real close to doing it, man.
I was super close to doing it.
And I almost want to like just take this by proxy.
I'm not going to, but if they booked Tynaar versus Androge,
I'd be like, bet, let's go.
And I would probably pick Tenor to win that fight.
I'm worried Androge's going to have this like Tony Ferguson-esque enter her
year C run where she just keeps like just jumping in this.
three or four times a year and just like taking ls and it's hard man because again she's not
old as a as a person but she's in fight years jessica andra just like 30 years old like she's just
been fighting forever and very high level competition so i see a lot of lot though i see a lot people
want to matchmaker with like i just kind of use her as that stepping stone now and and that's you know
that's that sucks a crappy place to put a fighter but um she likes to stay busy so she doesn't say no
to anybody she would definitely take the 10 ar but without thinking about it which is like
for sure to her detriment i turn it over to you my best friend all right sir yeah not too many but a good
good good bunch here uh first big shout out to sam schaefer welcome to the party pal sam says this is
my first time submitting to ot know i've been listening for over two years sam why'd you wait so long
i love what you guys been doing has been a long time coming for me to be submitting some picks i think
nolan versus brenner this is a fight of the night step up for nolan winnable fight for brenner that's a
great fight crude versus krillov magni versus salikov age appropriate matchmaking yeah a lot of people
sentence one out there. This one's the look for the oldest dude they could find in
best month.
Uh,
Ulberg for Sankel Live,
a winner again,
love the show.
Hope you guys continue doing this for a long time because I will always listen.
Keep it up.
Thank you, Sam.
That was,
that was so nice.
Sam?
Sam.
Sam, Sam, Sam, I got to say something.
Oh.
What a debut.
What a debut.
Well done.
Just,
just taking notes.
Maybe, you know what?
Maybe, maybe, maybe this is a valuable lesson to the, to the, to the, to the, to the
know community.
before you submit picks, wait two years.
And then you could be like,
you could be just like Sam.
This is a terrific debut.
Excellent work.
You're terrible, my best friend.
You're terrible.
You're going to scare so many potential.
Someone is looking forward to USC 320,
hopping on the YouTube and like,
oh, I'll give my picks for the first time.
And then I've only been listening to the show for like six months.
I kid, but all right.
That was good.
That was good, though.
Thank you, Sam.
Um, uh, where's my notes here? I just threw my notes away. I got stuff doing that.
Uh, yeah, we had a lot of popular picks. I'll skip over some of those. Uh, let's see. Finn
Hamilton says, Scho, mother effin ducks, uh, I believe referring to the Oregon Ducks. They played the University of Georgia or something in your American football collegiate division. Uh, it says,
uh, they did not play Georgia. Georgia played Alabama.
Oh, okay, okay. So this is just a general. Okay. So I guess Oregon put one. And then this is a separate comment for Jed. Tell Jed, I'm sorry.
Yeah. Oregon.
the Penn State Nittany Lines, the number three ranked Penn State.
Oh, damn.
Well, congratulations.
Five and O.
Congratulations to Duck Nation.
Finn just said, tell Jed, I'm sorry, Mike Bobo sucks.
Yeah, I was trying to keep up with the event, obviously at Mifling.com, and through the slack,
but, like, 75% of our work slack was Jed saying very unkind things about Mike Bobo,
the University of Georgia football program in general.
So it was not having a good time.
Apparently, watch this game.
Finn says, Crute versus Medafield 3.
why not.
Just complete the trilogy, Mike.
Just run it back one more time.
Let's go.
Let's go.
And Jenkins versus Nate Land, where sure.
DGB Sterling versus Julius Walker.
So Mike, DGB is going back here, taking a step back.
Do you think this is too far?
And then Julius is not a bad fighter.
I'm just saying.
This is two and O in the UFC.
I know.
Yeah, he is.
Oh, no.
He lost a men of field.
He lost a minute, a fight of the night.
Fight of the night.
In the, yeah, one of the fights of the year, according to the UFC.
Essentially a win.
Is that too far?
Based on the picks that people have mentioned today,
like it sounds like they want him to step up,
to at least a little bit of a step up,
this would certainly be a minor step back.
But you're okay with that?
Yeah, I'm fine with it.
That's fine.
Four corner sports.
What's on four corner sports?
I like this pick, Jenkins versus Pico.
I don't think they would make it,
but I actually really like that.
I think that's pretty logical.
We already nailed the Pico pick.
We did.
We did.
Mike Dominic Reyes
Jan Blokovitz 2
I mean the first fight was not close
it's not like we have like unanswered questions
from the first fight but we are like far enough
away from it that you know
maybe kind of regage where these guys are
it could just be a replay of the first fight
like Jan could just like smoke him
you don't know but
I don't know I don't hate it
I'll say that
I don't hate it I don't hate it
I kind of feel like that's for both these guys
sort of are right now
we have to play like sort of the
older veteran type matchups.
Like, I would prefer to see that for Dominic Graus than
Merse Kahnoff or like a 28-year-old,
just absolute lunatic.
Like, I don't want to see Dominic Reyes fight Uran Saltebaldiev.
Like, I don't want to see that happen.
So if it means we get Jan Bolhovic again, sure, I'll take that.
Yeah, it's not, it's not bad.
I had not thought about it at all.
I'd never thought about that rematch, but it's been a while.
It's been a while.
Marcus McGehy.
That's some good ones in here.
He brought up Umarcy as well, but for Navajo Sterling.
I don't hate it.
Like, I think, I feel like it's so hard for me.
All I can think I was that UFC Paris appearance receiver.
Like, again, he was cheered like he was freaking Prime, Connor McGregor.
But I do think he's kind of in that range with Sterling.
I know Sterling is so raw, so I didn't hate that.
Some deep cuts here, Marcus.
I'll make sure to mention these if these ever get booked.
Because these are Mularky Elder, Thickness, Cameron, Simon,
Montague versus Lisboa, Melissa Croden winner.
I am ashamed to say I did not know that fight was even happening in Vancouver, but there you go.
And Tyner versus Gomez Tisha Pennington winner, Mike, Diego.
You and Marcus are on the same page.
Zach Schultes-Jenkins versus Joanna Brito.
Montague versus Irenae Aldana.
I did not realize, Mike, it had been a year.
We've not seen Aldana since last September.
So that's kind of a good pick there.
why that, I mean, you're taught.
I mean, I know there's only like seven women's
Bannamway. Yes. I might just happen to be it.
But like that seems like a monster step
up from a, an unranked flyweight
to a, for someone who's fought for the freaking Bannamway
title and headlined a pay-per-view, you know?
It just seems, it just seems soon for someone you would probably
trying to build, especially if you're going to continue
since Dave Shaw is taking the quote-unquote long
road in Australia, you probably need to preserve Michelle Monaco's undefeated record for as long as
possible, right?
I don't know, man.
Maybe they believe in her as being like this absolute, just unstoppable prospect.
I don't know.
But yeah, she's only seven fights in her career.
It is, it's a, I know she's got a good team behind her.
She's training at ATT, right?
She's expensive time.
Yeah.
I think I saw Moniqueu's like third.
I watched your fight live before in Savannah, Georgia,
game bread MMA, not the bare knuckle, like,
yeah, right.
MMA.
And she just,
she just destroyed some poor
feather weight that night.
So,
yeah,
she's got PFL experience.
Let's just,
I think got something with her.
She's talented.
She's a super duper athlete.
She just hasn't fought anybody
of like significance.
Yeah.
She hasn't been like super tested yet.
So I,
I just think like to chuck her in there at the arena
would be like too little too soon.
But I don't know.
It would be interesting.
Speezy 32 says,
Harre versus Montserrat Rendon.
Yeah, that's probably more.
Yeah, that's the ticket.
Jenkins versus Christian Rodriguez,
Neil Magny versus Daniel Rodriguez,
two run that one back, sure.
A lot of good little picks here.
Cameron Roaston, Breachek.
Wasn't the way that jumped out at me.
Oh, Pierichich and Zichu.
I just want to shout to Pierichich.
I don't think we've talked about a matchup for him.
Because a fight should not have been on this card.
What do you mean?
Like it was a nasty?
Because it was supposed to be on.
contender series and then they actually moved it onto a card that you want to pay money for is that
100% how dare you it it should i say the opposite like it should never have been a contender what
what they did was they rectified a mistake like they sell the quality of that fight and they said oh we can't
put this in the apex this needs to be in front of a crowd mike if i told you that parritch just got a bonus
over neil magni would you believe me i would believe you yes why are you guys got a big thing's a
heavyweight knockout people love it but it was even like it wasn't like a one-hitter quitter
It was like a dude attempted a take down, got elbowed a few times,
should not have kept trying to take down, but he did.
And then he got ground and pounded for like 20 seconds before he got colded.
And Magnus was this like miraculous comeback submission win.
So I don't know.
I mean, good for parents.
Like get the UFC win like good for you, bud.
But yeah, that could have easily been a contender series fight.
This whole like four bonuses thing, like $200,000 a lot of for bonuses thing,
It's just crazy.
How are we still doing this?
This is like...
It's been like 20 years with the same price tag.
Same price tag, same amount.
It's only...
It's the ultimate fighter of sports bonuses.
It has not changed since its inception.
Crazy.
Let's have some fun.
Golly.
It's fun to spend some money, man.
Just two more here.
Gerard, Bioggan.
Magni versus Chris Curtis.
I'd never thought of this.
Oh.
I'd never thought of it.
Wow.
I'd love to see that.
do it i mean i'm in i'm in for that that's because chris ain't no spring chicken either
so that's like some good age appropriate matchmaking too that's been wicked interesting i like
that fight i think i keep forgetting that like he's finally back at 170 you know because he was he was
good at middle way he's good but i mean he has always been a welter rate like just frame you just
always look at him like this yeah this is a welter rate just not cutting weight he's always
looked like that um he's got great skills so you know he can do it but i want to say this last charge
And yeah, maybe Neil Magnetian makes sense.
Gerard, I think that's a money pick.
And then we'll end with Jay Donagy.
Some fun ones here.
Jenkins versus Myron Santos.
I really thought about this.
I like Myron a lot.
Nolan versus Mike Davis.
I love that.
Montague, Jocelyn Edwards, and Tynera versus Jacqueline Amarim, after she beats Musukee Inouye at U.S.321, October 25th.
So there you go, guys.
Great picks.
Great listener picks, Mike.
great picks from you, my best friend.
People do not send us
hit up our DMs next week, please.

Join us live for the UFC 320 post event
onto the next one episode on YouTube.
Yeah, if you listen to the show two weeks ago
and we were preparing to read off
the upcoming card, I was not happy about it.
No?
I hurt my soul and in like a piece of me left my body
with every fight that I broke out.
I'm going to be rebuilt now.
I'm probably going to put on 12 pounds of excitement with UFC 320.
This card, it slaps, it hits, it rocks, it's all those fun adjectives.
Even though the main event is like, I honestly, if the main event fell out, I would not even be upset about it.
Like, I understand there's a little heat here, but like, I am not even here, Frank Eli-Perrera.
Like, it's fine.
And it's just like, wow, can Pereira?
So there's something, a bit of a storyline.
but like that's like the fifth fight that I'm most interested in on this entire card which is wild
I love this co-made event maraudelaus really versus cori sanhagan I can't wait I cannot wait to
see this fight it's gonna be incredible before that we get yuri per haska versus collo roundtree
chef's kiss Josh emitt versus yusuf sulal high stakes featherweight fight hopefully yusuf salal is a little
more fun than he was in the Calvin Cater fight.
Here's my
one knock about the bout order.
Why is Joe Pfeiffer
on the main card?
Why? Why are we
doing this? He fought, we just
did this. He fought Kelvin
Gasolam, who was part
of one of the five greatest fights in
UFC history, and it was the
worst fight of the card.
Can't we put my boy?
Can't we put my boy
Otzbo Gautier? Oh.
In that spot?
Because you know what's about to happen.
He's going to annihilate that man.
And that's how you set the toe.
Instead, we're going to get a tepid 15 minutes from Joe Piper and Abus Magamatoff.
Mike, what do you think about?
But I mean, listen, what about the people on Disney Plus who are tuning into the prelims?
You're going to take a T-bo away from them?
Come on now.
That's not the right thing.
Jim Joe Piper.
No, they're-
creating one middle-weight fight for another middle.
They're going to finish watching Frozen 2 again.
And then they're going to be like, oh, right.
It's like, oh, bra, Tipagotier is fighting.
Oh, and I can just switch over on my app and I can watch.
They're not going to doing that for Joe Piper versus Apis Maga Madov, so.
It's a tough scene, man.
Tough scenes, but, yeah, we're going to get 15 minutes there,
and it's not going to set the table well.
But boy, my fantasy hero, the MVP of the fantasy league,
Atipagodier fighting Ozzy Diaz,
Edmund Chabazzian fighting Andre Munez,
Farid, Basurat versus Chris Gutierrez.
That's a really good fight.
Daniel Santos versus Jusang you.
Macy Chesson.
That's a nice fight.
That's gonna be really good.
That's a funny.
Macy Chia San is back at Yana Santos.
Ranked women's band-in-way.
It's just, I mean, just couldn't be more buried on these prelands.
You know what?
This should have been the main hard opener, okay?
Patchy Mix versus Jakub Wicklaks.
Oh my God.
The most outside of the two title fights,
this is the heaviest pressured fight for one fighter on the entire card.
If patchy Mix loses this fight, I mean, he's done, done.
He's done.
Cooked.
No chance at becoming a, like, even a ranked fighter, probably if he loses this fight.
It is like all on the line for Patchy Mix.
Two fights in his UFC career.
Pretty insane.
And he's going to be like the featured fight pass prelux.
on this card more than likely.
That's rough.
Crazy.
Puna Sorriado versus Nikolai Veritenecoff, Ramez, Brahmius versus Austin Banderford.
And like she has done many times before, A.K., kicking things off, the curtain jerker,
Veronica Hardy taking on Brogan Walker, AK.
Rogan Walker?
How about that?
She hasn't fought in over two years.
Well, she's
She's got to be fighting.
I hope people show up early.
People, like we said with Perth, man, show up early, show up early, show up early.
Support Veronica Hardy, Brogan Walker, Brahimaj, Vanford, all these people.
Show up, man.
It's always, you know, it's always, I think it, it always makes me a little sad to see the fighter.
I know they're getting paid the same no matter what, but seeing them, you know, kind of fight in front of just an empty crowd.
So, yeah, let's do it.
You imagine patchy mix and, and, and, uh, a big lot's, like, fighting in front of just nobody.
he feels so weird. Patsyix was main eventing Bell tour shows in front of like, you know, pretty good crowds.
So that's weird.
I like, I like, I like, as I ran it down, I was like, as I ran down, I was like, eh, maybe it wasn't as like good as I put it out to be.
But I think just my excitement from Marab and Sandhagen just trumps everything happening on this card.
Like, it just boosts everything up like two notches.
This isn't a discussion for this show, but I do wonder when is the next time we're going to get a just loaded, loaded, loaded UFC card?
like a pay of your card.
Wow.
That, not until next June.
Yeah.
You don't think we'll get like a carver where that's jacked for like eight or nine fights on the card until like June 2026?
Probably not.
That's crazy.
That is wild.
I mean, when else?
I don't know.
314 is like the only one we've really had.
And even that was like just a really strong main card and like couple other things.
But like, yeah, we're going to.
broken walker is on a paper view card aka yes she is
congrats of broken yeah yeah i mean
this is kind of the world we live in
and when like 65% of your roster is from contender series
this is kind of how it's gonna go right yeah hashtag 12 and 12 baby
it's contender series season but yes aka and i'll be back next sunday
we'll recap it all we'll be live on the youtube channel
we will matchmake, we will get your picks, get your selections.
And then, yeah, we're staying out of the apex for the entire month.
It'll be Vegas to Rio, to Vancouver, to Abu Dhabi.
And we'll be here for the matchmaking following all of those events,
just like we have been for the past few years.
But thank you for joining us for AKA I am Mike Heck.
Back next week, live on the YouTube channel following UFC 320 right here.
And on to the next one.
the podcast.
