Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to the Vox Media Podcast Network. Well, hello there, everybody, and welcome to a brand new edition of On to the next one. Yes, the matchmaking crowns are back following the UFC's return to Sacramento, California, and they'll be back in California in less than a month for UFC 331, but UFC continues with the road show. They're going international for the next couple of events. Back to the World's most famous Apex. Actually, no, they're not back in the Apex till like October.
Starting point is 00:00:54 All right. So, oh, no, just kidding. September 26, they're back to the Apex. What a roller coaster that was. It sure was. Yes, after travel, brain fog, all that stuff. But yes, no Apex shows to the end of September. So UFC's on a bit of a run right now with fun events.
Starting point is 00:01:11 UFC Sacramento for the most part was no different. A lot of finishes, a lot of squash Remento, went down in Sacktown, but we are here to discuss all of that from matchmaking perspective. I am Mike Hack. And joining me is the one and only Alexander K. Lee, my best friend, the co-host and co-matchmaker extraordinaire, who actually watched this event in its entirety. A.K., how are you? My best friend, what is up, man?
Starting point is 00:01:35 I hope you're doing good. We're recording on a Monday today. You know, we've done this a few times recently. And, you know, we prefer to go on Sunday, but I'm not going to lie. Having that extra day to kind of rest and gather our thoughts and I have more time to, like, look at the listener picks. I kind of enjoy it. I'm not saying this is like the new normal, but I would say like once a month.
Starting point is 00:01:51 I think we'll end up probably doing a Monday show. Obviously, we have the live shows and Sundays after number events, etc. But yeah, guys, Sunday's still the day. But you should be excited when there's the occasional Monday show. I just feel like we're a little more, a little more together. Mike, first of all, I want to say that return to the apex on Saturn 26. Let's remember that's the ultimate fighter finale. Okay, that is not just any apex card.
Starting point is 00:02:11 We already have one final booked, Melissa Maya and Tina Black in the Strawbyte Division. And Ilam Bech, Actabek Ulu will be facing either Muhammad Aliaz Monly or Christian Strong. So there you go, guys. So everyone, I get DMs all the time, Mike. When is the ultimate fighter finale? Because we even thought, like, could it end up on one of the paper views, but it didn't make sense? Could they send them to, like, France? We knew that wasn't going to happen.
Starting point is 00:02:36 So, nope. Instead, it's living in the tough house, fighting the apex for their chance to fight in the apex. That's wild. Yeah. That's wild. Hey, it's not going anywhere. the numbers are through the roof and until the numbers are bad, the tough train will continue to chug on. Don't I know it. Don't I know it, Mike. And big shout out to, by the way, our guest blogger this
Starting point is 00:02:56 year, a contestant Xavier Franklin, who has really helped me, like, do recaps every week. And I know, I don't know if there's doing like gangbuster numbers for our website, but certainly compared to previous years where I was just doing like a straight up recap, drop on the night of the, like the episode streams. They weren't getting a lot of viewership, if I, to be honest. So I think having Xavier getting some behind the scenes insights, obviously he's involved in the biggest controversy of the season with Herd Dean. Yeah, it helped. I think we got a little boost this year.
Starting point is 00:03:22 So hopefully people watched that was a really good season. But we'll talk about that more. I'm sorry, guys. We'll talk about that more ahead of September 26th. I love UFC Sacramento, Mike. It felt like, let's be honest, it did feel like a regional show, like a California-based promotion, like you said, Squash Ramento, you know, a lot of fighters just getting highlights,
Starting point is 00:03:39 and we've had this on a lot of cards recently. And I'm okay with it. I've said this before. I'm a broken record. we have to adjust our expectations for what a UFC card is. If you haven't over the past like two years, adjusted your expectations, yeah, you're going to be disappointed with what you see. But if you're looking for, again, finishes, showcases of certain fighters,
Starting point is 00:03:56 some older fighters kind of getting ushered out of the octagon, as it were, then you're fine. Then you're fine with how these things are. So I thought Sacramento was like a home run as far as what you could expect. If I had the old gymnastics scale, it would have been like a 7.5 on paper, and there was like a 7.3, 7.4. Like they just nail. I think they nailed whatever they were intending to do with this card.
Starting point is 00:04:17 And that's all you can really judge it on, right? Yeah. And I think the main event threw some people off because most people believe that if Gregory Rodriguez didn't knock out Anthony Hernandez in the first round, maybe two, it was going to be a really bad night for him. And it seemed like at certain points was trending in that direction later on in the fight. But in the end, it is Gregor Rodriguez by decision. I think the odds on that was like plus 2,200 or something crazy.
Starting point is 00:04:44 that. So if we hit that, congratulations. But Robocop gets it done. Beats Fluffy Hernandez. It's crazy thinking about where these guys are at because Robocop, we're like, yeah, he'd just go fight Bruno Ferreira like a hundred times. And like, we'll watch those two dudes just beat each other up. We saw him fight Jared Cannon and Air in a main event not that long ago. And he got dusted up if you could weather the storm.
Starting point is 00:05:07 And it seems like Gregory has changed some stuff. He's changed gyms. seems to be looking pretty good and fluffy. The guy we were like, if anybody can beat Hamzaa Chimae, if it's this guy, now finds himself on the two-fight losing streak, A.K., so wild result,
Starting point is 00:05:23 but a huge win for Gregory Rodriguez, and I'm curious where you decided to go with Mr. Robocop following the biggest win of his career. Yeah, biggest win, best performance. He looked great, man. I think he's got obviously that older face and that, you know, big muscular body, we always pull that,
Starting point is 00:05:38 ah, he's going to gas card, he's going to gas. And that certainly played out. like the cannon ear fight, obviously he lost a lot of steam in that fight. And going forward, it is something to, it's always going to be a factor. But if there was an opponent to test his cardio and his ability to go five rounds, I mean, it was Fluffy Hernandez. And this was not a bad Fluffy performance, by the way, guys. Like Fluffy brought it to him.
Starting point is 00:05:57 Fluffy was going until the very end. And Robocop, man, he just was in there. But like I stayed pretty boring. I like the callout. I did not. I think I wasn't on the Duplice Usman episode. So for me, DDP is free. So I like the call out of Dricka Stuplacy.
Starting point is 00:06:12 I can see other guys wanting. I know Kyra Bahalio's wanted to fight for a while. But it makes sense. I think the timing probably makes sense too. I imagine DDP will have some say in this. So I'm very curious to kind of see what he says this week or in the next couple weeks about who his next opponent is. But yeah, let's go.
Starting point is 00:06:28 I like Gregor Garber Jerez and Dricka's Duplice. It's good call. I don't think he really has a whole heck of a big chance of getting it, honestly. He's just firmly at the top of the title piece. picture right now and you have Joe Pfeiffer, you have Nasserdeenimov, Brandon Allen's up there and you can argue that all of those guys are ahead of Robocop right now. I want Kyle Bajalio.
Starting point is 00:06:52 I think that fight makes a lot of sense and we can go that route. I mean, if they can somehow make their way back to Brazil, like dude, that's, it would be a darn good main event for a Brazil fight night card or something like that. But perhaps you see these two guys, maybe you throw them on the same card that Sean Strickland defends at. because we don't even know Sean's fighting.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Is Sean fighting Imovov? Is he fighting Imov? Is he fighting Hamzaat again? Is DDP fighting Yemov? Is DDP fighting Joe Pfefer? Is hemovoff fighting Joe Piper? Like, where's, where's Brennan? Like, there's just so much, so many puzzle pieces to move around right now. But, yeah, Kyle, I think is number five.
Starting point is 00:07:29 And I think Gregory will be like six or seven come Tuesday when the rankings come in. So, yeah, I mean, either way, it's a, didn't expect we'd be talking about Gregor Rodriguez is fighting the Kyle Bahalios and DDPs of the world when 2026 began. But here we are, man. The sport moves quickly. So good for Robocop. Yeah, big time. Yeah, one of our listeners kind of laid out a middleweight sort of what's
Starting point is 00:07:53 due with the contenders. So we'll get to that later. That was interesting. We kind of discussed there. I haven't put that much thought into it, like how much how the 185, the top 10 will play out. But yeah, definitely needs to be discussed because I think most of the guys are unbooked. So let's see.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Heading into end of 2026, early 2027, we could have a lot of movement here. Yeah. Let's talk about a fight that Nobone wants to talk about again. The co-mate event, which is won by Vitor Petrino. Golly, man. We talked about Bout order. We knew this one could be a tough hang. Boy, did we underestimate that. But Vitor Petrino gets it done, gets the victory.
Starting point is 00:08:28 And I'm just going to get this out of the way. Let's just do him in Rizvon, Kunef, because why the H, why the hackad, AK, I mean, I don't know what else to do. Well, I feel like Rizvon. Well, now I'm curious. I guess he's technically going to be ranked higher than Rizván, probably. I got to look at my own rankings here. I have Kunev eight. I have him one spot ahead of Petrino.
Starting point is 00:08:47 You mentioned, of course, we won't see the updated rankings until Tuesday. Meta, you know, I actually like those two rankings. I just had to keep referring to them. Well, so Kunev was number five in the meta rankings, heading into Saturday. And he was number eight in the media rankings. So, I don't know. I think I want you know, Petrino to have his chance
Starting point is 00:09:11 to have his chance to fight into like the top five but yeah, it might not be an option especially given how sort of unmoving that is right now given the championship situation. So yeah, I don't mind it. I don't mind it. I went, I think, a little bit lower. I'm going Waldo Cortez-A-Costa
Starting point is 00:09:28 Curtis Blades winner. They're fighting a couple of weeks, Noce OEC. So yeah, somewhere, I think we're in the same range, though. 6, 7, 8, somewhere. there. It depends. I don't know where Petrino's going to land exactly. Mike, by the way, we better have at least like a couple of Friends Forever moments this episode. Because I'll just tell you something. Like I said, I had a chance to vet
Starting point is 00:09:46 the listeners. And I'm friends forever with a lot of the internet right now. So we'll see. Probably starting with this next pick, Mike. I feel like we should be on the same page. I don't know, man. I really don't know. To be fair, I watched like spots of this event. I'm obviously well aware of what happened and then Sunday was just getting back home, which took
Starting point is 00:10:06 all damn day. So I kind of like went and looked at it this morning and put these together. I'm like, oh, what do I? What would I just want to see on these random UFC cards? And I feel pretty good. I feel like we put together some things. And other things are a little strange, but I'm trying to put myself into the UFC lens. Speaking of which, Reineer de Ritter, AK moves up to 205 pounds, has a very successful debut. Whatever you want to say about Roman DeLieze and his performance, they are all warranted because this is just questionable stuff coming out of this man
Starting point is 00:10:41 and RDR took full advantage. Quick night at the office, back up at 205, first time he did so in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, but AK, where do we go with RDR? In this tough light heavyweight division which needs a spark and maybe RDR is the spark it needs,
Starting point is 00:10:57 who knows? You don't want to count a three, Mike? You don't think, you're not confident that we landed on the same page here? We could. Let's do it. Let's try it. I think we're going to do this up. I think we need to do this for the rest of the episode maybe. We'll see. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:11:09 All right. All right. On three. On three or after three. One, two, three. Say the name. Yep. Ready?
Starting point is 00:11:15 One, two, three. Bogdan, Goosecoff. Yeah. The band is ready. The band is ready. We got to count down again. One, two, three.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Friends Forever. It feels like it's been a while. It has been a while. Because all the other friends for our moments. are just super obvious. Yeah. This one, I think this is kind of,
Starting point is 00:11:37 this is fun. Well, I think, like I said, I saw a lot of listeners contribute this as well. So I think, yeah,
Starting point is 00:11:43 we're all on the same page here. Yeah, it seems like we have, we have, after watching what Goosecob did against Magab and Angolaev, I think the M.A. world,
Starting point is 00:11:51 the UFC fan base has just kind of given up on him being like a title challenger. So it's just throw him with fun, weird guys and either he gets a quick KO or he just gets destroyed on the ground.
Starting point is 00:12:02 And yeah, this is one of those fights. will know the answer to very, very quickly. It'll be 60 seconds in and we'll know exactly how the fight goes. So that is very fun. Now let's go to the light, yeah. Oh, we're going to do it again.
Starting point is 00:12:14 Markell Maderos knocks out Mason Jones. What a performance from him. Markell, super underrated talent. He's very, very good. But again, another reason why I feel like Lightway is just the best vision in the sport. Marker Madero is a very good fighter. And he probably won't ever have a ranking next to his name.
Starting point is 00:12:33 And it's crazy. So I don't know if we're going to be on the same page here, but let's give it a whirl. One, two, three, Ludwig Klein. One for two. And the streak is over. Yes, I went. I have a feeling Chris Duncan's name's going to come up again later in the program. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:12:51 So let's put it out there. So I went with Ludwig Klein. Let's give him a guy that's just outside of the top 20. He's coming off of a tough loss, but still very, very good. I kind of have them right around each other. so that one makes a lot of sense to me. This is all bangers ahead for Madero. You're right.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Do we think he can string together? Unfortunately, he's in a division. And I don't know a lot about, I actually think he showed a bit of personality on Saturday, but I don't know if he's really jumping off the page to the matchmakers. He has, and he's what, 4-0 and 1 now? I know the video fight was close. Probably should not have gone his way.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Probably lucky to escape with a draw there. But, hey, the record shows undefeated in the UFC. But yeah, he's just in that category of guys where I feel like it's like seven, eight straight wins before we even start going like, oh, now he gets a top 15 guy. It's not fair. It's not fair. It's hard to be in a lightweight. You're going to get a lot of attention for being in a great division
Starting point is 00:13:43 and a lot of great matchups. But damn, that climb to the top is difficult. It's very, very hard. Yeah, very excited to see him again. Whether it's Chris Duncan, Ludovic Klein, I think some other names are thrown out there that I think are really good. But yeah, man, I think first person to finish Mason Jones, if I'm not mistaken.
Starting point is 00:13:58 You may, yeah, I think you're right about that. Damn. Yeah, Mason was on a heat. heading into that fight. So well done by Markell Maderos. I don't think we need to do a friend's forever for this next one. Mine is a little more. There's no, I don't have a name here. I have, oh, I have a, this needs to happen for it. Actually, I do have a name. I do have a name, but it's somebody who's booked. So I don't know if we're going to have
Starting point is 00:14:21 no, no, no, let's just, just, just to wrap the Band-Aid off my best friend. I don't think we should do the countdown. Okay. Carly Judis, a member of the Jedmishu family, goes out there and gets another win. She's, she's going. up the history books with significant strike numbers and things of that nature. And Jed's like, I can't wait to see Carly Judy's fight Dakota Dichita someday. And by the way, I hate to rain on his parade. I don't think that fight's ever going to happen because I just don't think Dakota's going to be in the UFC anymore.
Starting point is 00:14:48 However, the fight that I've been looking at, I think timing actually works out for it. Casey O'Neill is fighting Edwara-Mara at UFC 331. I don't care who wins that fight. She is fighting Casey O. Carly Judy's, Carly Judice versus Casey O'Neill is Carly Judice's next fight. Win-lose-Dra-3-1. It's Carly Judice versus Casey O'Neill. That fight is got a rip.
Starting point is 00:15:12 I can't wait. Why not Mora? Why is Mora out of the equation? Because Mora probably, this is a big win for Mora. She's probably on to, no disrespect, bigger and better. Carly, we're trying to take fun steps up with her. And sure, it could be fun having a Mora fight, but it's, just way more fun doing the Casey O'Neill thing.
Starting point is 00:15:33 And I kind of feel like you have to go to Casey quicker because I feel like you have to cash in on her now. And that's just, that's a fight of the night. That is a fight of the night potential fight right there. And progression wise, I, I saw a lot on Saturday from Carly where I'm just like, okay, she's actually better than I thought. She's not just an exciting fighter.
Starting point is 00:15:54 She's actually pretty good and can make a little bit of a run here. So I think we have to build her up, but now we have to give her someone with a little bit more a name and I think Mara may be like the better fighter of the two but Casey has the bigger name of the two. This is, yes, facts. I would ask, do you think I'm about to sneeze? I'm going to warm people right now.
Starting point is 00:16:16 I can see. I'm about to sneeze. Mike, would you, okay, she should be Carly Judy's should be top of team. I think that's indisputable. Now, four straight wins. I know she hasn't beaten like anyone ranked yet, but she should have her own ranking, right? Would she be, is she top 15 in yours? Do you even know?
Starting point is 00:16:33 She will not be in mine. Oh. Really? No, it's just, it. She's right there. She's knocking on the door. Okay. But like what I rank her above like J.J. Aldrich right now?
Starting point is 00:16:45 Probably not. Oh, I did. Okay. Okay. I'll tell you right now. That's just that that's just me. I get why. I just,
Starting point is 00:16:51 yes. If she beats Casey O'Neal, she's 100% going to get a ranking in my eyes. Yeah. Okay. It is interesting. Her loan loss, close fight with Gabriella Fernandez. So I think it's very good. And then, yes, UNICE Dubein, Kaliari, Juliana Miller, not, you know, the lower tier of the division,
Starting point is 00:17:08 with respect to those women, just rankings-wise. It's the lower tier of the division. I think none of them have more, like, none of the people I named have more than, like, one or two UFC win. I think Julianna Miller got her second or something. And that's not counting the ultimate fighter finale. So, and then Jason Chavez, very talented person, but I get it not really someone with a name, not someone with a number.
Starting point is 00:17:26 Okay. I probably got a little crazy. I have her above, I'll tell you directly, like, I put her above Cranea Silva. I put her above Tracy Cortez. And I put her above the woman who I'm matching her up with Wang Tong. I think Wang Tong would be a good fight for her. And I think, frankly, with respect to Wang, I think Judy's clears her. Wow.
Starting point is 00:17:52 I've probably been talking to Jed too much. This is the Jed speaking through me. Wang is ranked in the top 10 of both the media and meta rankings, I believe. And I think I would strongly pick Judea's to beat her. Okay. I've been very hard on Wang, I will say. I've been very like, I almost always pick against her. And she has made like a lot of improvements.
Starting point is 00:18:17 So you're wrong. And I see white people are high in her a lot. But I don't know, that JetMishu. It's gotten in my head, Mike. It's gotten on my head. she's good man she's better than i thought but like i don't want to rush her too quickly yeah i would say on it like i think you named and like if she goes out there and beats casey in her next fight i think you drop the name that should be next for her it should be tracy cortez right after that
Starting point is 00:18:41 give her like an even bigger name somebody that will get someone that'll help get more eyeballs on her as a fighter so i think we have the progression we need to do with her but she's exciting man she's exciting. We, uh, we're rooting for her to continue to be very fun in, uh, in this division. Yes. Speaking of divisions that have needed help, heavyweight is right at the top of that. And you can say whatever you want. And I know things have been quote unquote stale according to Dana white. But Anthony Wynn seems like a guy who people are excited about. Let me tell you something. I watched that fight in its entirety. Uh, he is green as grass, man. That was,
Starting point is 00:19:22 not a high caliber guy that he fought, even in the heavyweight division. And he was getting cracked by Mr. Chapman at times. I was like,
Starting point is 00:19:35 what is happening here? This doesn't look very good for Anthony. And then eventually Anthony got him down and put him to sleep and it was pretty nasty. And then he said what he had to say, which I think is absolutely ridiculously funny. But there's just no world
Starting point is 00:19:51 where they need to rush this guy. I mean, if we're not going to rush Gable, we're certainly not rushing this dude. Like, count it down. Count it down, Rick. There's no way we got this. I think we know. I can see it. I could see.
Starting point is 00:20:05 We're not on video, guys. I know this is podcast. I can see it in Mike's eyes. Okay. And I don't mean I'm like the reflection of his screen in his eyes. Like I can see a name in his eyes. All right. You ready?
Starting point is 00:20:16 One, two, three. Denzel. Jose Montania. Damn. Damn. Damn. I was so confident. Nah, this is a dull world. It was a dart throw, and I landed on Denzel Freeman.
Starting point is 00:20:32 Yeah, yeah, I've seen a lot of debt. I got a lot of Wint Freeman pick. It's so funny that we have this. Do we have like this cluster of heavyweights at the bottom? Let me, let me see the other name. We got obviously Denzel Freeman. Of course, the Immortal Gear May Pat. Maximinis.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Maximez. Alicia Allison, Alvin Hines, Sean Shoraff. You mentioned Gable Steven, the next, that's a gable victim. Yeah, it's so funny. And God bless you know, hey, maybe one of these guys starts picking up wins and makes a name from themselves. But it's so clear they're on the roster just to build up sort of these guys. And this kind of what is what like Dana White was alluding to about the division being
Starting point is 00:21:10 stale and then kind of trending upwards. Like I don't know if I fully agree. But it does feel like they have signed, yes, some intriguing prospects and just as importantly, some Saturday night superstars jobbers to go with them. And that's so important. Yeah, it is important. Yeah. So there you have it.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Let's go to the wild card round, AK. We'll select one fighter who not match made for yet. We'll matchmake for him right now. Who did you go with here following UFC Sacramento? I think we can kind of, I don't think we're French forever on this one, Mike. I don't think so either. I know for a fact we're not friends forever because you already used one of the names. Okay.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Oh, okay. I love him. This dude's just a hitter. This dude's just a hitter. Like I know he hasn't faced any, like, huge competition in the UFC. man the numbers do not lie the guy just goes into knock people out almost all of his wins are by knockout like he's just a violent violent man uh we were saying remember i think on the slack or i'd stuff you on social media like we need to see him and larry ann douglas at some point i still
Starting point is 00:22:07 want to see that even though you know shout out joel embers big upset um i still hope we see douglas and marcia boggosa someday but mike i'm not protecting him i'm not protecting the guy that I've booked against him. Sorry, we got to throw these like up and comers together, get exciting fights. Someone's got to catch an owl. That's just how the business works. Getting Marcia Barbosa and Luke Riley. The undefeated Luke Riley.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Damn. Yeah, I know. I'm not going easy on either of them. That is not an easy fight for either guy. This could be Luke Riley's first loss. This could be a reality check for Marcia Barbosa or a ceiling check, I should say. But I'd love to see. And I know, for me, it wouldn't hurt either guy too much.
Starting point is 00:22:45 This is just, again, we talk about lightweight. Featherweight, same way. Very strong division. If you want to move up, sorry, you know, you're going to have to fight tough competition. So I'm giving a tough fight for both guys. Damn, love that. This is AK matchmaking at its finest. This is exactly the type of stuff, hashtags, stakes, all sorts of stuff.
Starting point is 00:23:07 And we're going to the best division in the sport, the lightweight division, because often slept on in this division is a man by the name of Chris Taco Padilla, Okay, goes out there losing to Nazareth. He's about to lose the fight. Maybe he gets a 10-8 in round three, the way he was hurting Nazareth, almost got him out of there. Best he get hope for was a draw.
Starting point is 00:23:30 Then he goes for the standing arm triangle, and we're like, oh man, this is nasty. This could be a submission of the year type thing. And then he just chucks him to the ground, and he sleeps him right at the bell, right at the final horn. And it still might be one of the submissions of the year because of all the drama behind it.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Chris Padilla just doesn't lose fights. He might fight you to a drop, but he doesn't lose fights. And now, hashtag Chris versus Chris, for the name Chris, one has to go to Christopher, moving forward. Chris Padilla taking on Chris Duncan, Chris versus Chris, loser gets the name Christopher, winner gets to keep Chris. Well, I love it. Again, I saw a few of this mention as well. Hashtag Chris on Chris. love it. I mean, Chris Padilla will be fine. He's just Taco. He's like, I'm Taco now. I've lost
Starting point is 00:24:19 to Chris. It's fine. I give you the Chris. And Chris Duncan, frankly, should consider a brand change anyway because we have him, ever since him and Christian Leroy Duncan, I feel like they debuted on like the same UFC card or at least, I know they were on the same UFC card early in their UFC careers. Man, that was confusing as hell. And look, I'm glad we have CLD, like I'm glad he goes with the Leroy to, he's Christian, he's not Chris, he has the Leroy in there. It's still kind of confusing. I think they're both far cage warriors guys too. So that's great. That's a great matchup
Starting point is 00:24:49 Mike because yeah, Chris Padilla can fully embrace the taco and Chris Duncan can, I don't know, maybe he has a middle name he can go by and we can stop confusing him with the CLD. Yeah, there you go. I think we've booked some good fights here. Let's see how the listeners did AK. Yes. Let's go right into it. Tino Alvarez
Starting point is 00:25:05 says Taco Padilla versus Drew Dober. Shamele Gadsia versus Ante Delijah. Holy cow. Uh, Shemiel. That was nasty. Yeah, we didn't talk about that enough. Again, you know, this is the thing with some of these cards now,
Starting point is 00:25:20 as we have all these highlights, and a lot of them happen on the prelims. And I don't know if we need to start doing more wild card picks or something, because, yeah, these people need love. And that was just, that was so funny. Kenne is too cool. We all know what you were going for. Okay, we've all watched Andrew Silva. We've all watched King Green.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Like, you know, if you're pretty coordinated, athletic guy, you're probably like, yeah, look, I've watched the tape. I know, like, I can do this. I'm an agile guy. It's tough, though. The close-up shots of just him. And I saw on social, and it was just that before he got folded, and then he just keep repeating. I probably, oh, my God, I watched that at RAF a thousand times.
Starting point is 00:26:00 I'm so sorry for laughing at this, Kennedy. But when you, when you, like, dodge the, like, because he, it's so funny because he did slip a right and then just ate another right. That's what's really funny. It's like, oh, okay, like, that worked. No, it didn't. And then he's like, the one. way he fell was so comical too so we hope canny's okay Kenny hope i hope i hope you get a long break i hope you get at least like eight months off rest for recover rest that brain man as a dozen that snuck
Starting point is 00:26:22 but um yeah maybe uh maybe back to the lab a little bit with some of this uh hands down fighting style i agree jamael emmers another big star from this event uh in my eyes not a lot of people giving him a chance against larry and douglas and i love this post fight interview after uh tina wants Jamal Emers versus Loak Dog, Venetia's Olivera. I like that fight a lot. It makes a ton of sense to me. Tino likes Anthony Witt versus Jose Montagna, Carly Judice Deani Barbosa,
Starting point is 00:26:50 Markel Maderas versus Esteban Ravovich. That's fun. RDR versus Vulcan Ozedimir. Sure. That's going to be nasty. That's fun. I thought, well, I will say, I thought that the Leesie fight was going to be ugly.
Starting point is 00:27:01 At least that was over mercifully quickly. You probably could end to be a minute sooner. Oh, boy, him and Volcan. God, that's gnarly. Yeah, Tino's on your side for a lot of stuff. Vitor versus the Blades Waldo winner. Gregor Rodriguez versus Drichis Duplessi, AK. So he's right there with you.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Let's go back here a little bit. John Dyer versus Sam Hughes, McVeigh versus Breitcheck, Dorisaneville versus Elhuber, Scher, Barbosa versus Emil, Padilla versus Chris Duncan, Gadsie of Spivak, Embers, Mariscall, Wins versus Pat Judice versus Maverick Wow, okay
Starting point is 00:27:40 We got a lot of that I don't think Miranda's fighting anytime soon She recently gave birth To a Her child She wasn't gave birth to a child She now was two children
Starting point is 00:27:50 And that was in May Reasonably I guess We have seen I think Tisha Torres I remember was crazy She gave birth And then I think she was back in Almost like a regular
Starting point is 00:27:59 Fight schedule That was insane And Miranda Mavericks You know in great shape A very dedicated athlete I think if she wanted to She could like fight again, you know, by early next year.
Starting point is 00:28:09 I just don't know if that's in her plans. She has two young children now. I think she's focusing on her family. So I got a lot of people sending in Carly and Miranda. Because someone just asked, straight up, where's Miranda Maverick? So there you go. She's got real life going on. And if she gets back in there, awesome.
Starting point is 00:28:23 But I think we'd understand her maybe she's taking some time off from competition. 100%. We also have Madaris versus Gibson Jr. Artie Arguscoff, Petrino, another Petrino, WCA, Blades. Oh, this is for the loser of that fight. Hernandez versus Canaaner, Robocop versus Joe Piper. I don't think. No?
Starting point is 00:28:44 I saw a lot of it. No, I like it. I think a fight makes sense, but I think the word Joe, where Joe is realistically, as opposed to where like Dana and the UFC view, Joe, are in two totally different places. Yeah. To me, Joe should be fighting the Gregor Rodriguez of the world. To them, Joe is a win-away, if not fighting for the belt next. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Is he wrestling? Is he wrestling soon? He is. He's wrestling Luke Rockhold. Oh. September 19th, R.E.F. 13 in Miami. Right, right, right. That will be fun to watch.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Harry, Dyer Bannon 2. Why would you do that to Porchana Bannon? Are you kidding me? What did Shana do to you? What did she do to you? That was the first fight in the UFC? I don't know, but either. I have to imagine.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Yeah, but this, did Shana beat her? Oh, amateur. Okay, interesting. Listen, this is a amateur bout, Cade Legacy, December 2021, a ground and pound TKO win for Shana Bannon. So, ah, that's kind of neat. Yeah, it's pretty smart. Like storyline. Maybe, maybe they don't book that fight because there's no way we're, we're rewriting history again.
Starting point is 00:29:58 Dyer might actually end her career physically if they fight. So please don't do that. give her let's give dial you know a little bit something something that's like that's like Josh Hokit winning and then fighting max Jimenez next like that's like Josh winning on the White House lawn and they give Max Jimenez you can't do that let's we get we get nowhere to go but up Mike we never got John Jones park a porter two and I feel like this is you know sometimes you got to close these loops you know what I mean so yeah maybe Chanel wants that one back we'll see I hope that doesn't happen for ban on safety McVaver
Starting point is 00:30:33 versus the Duclos Diaz winner, Stan versus Mark Chowinski or a DWCS guy, Dakota versus Con Offly, Taco versus Gamrot, Pretty Boy versus Loak Dog, Judice versus Sampage, Maderas, Tofeek, RDR, Navajo. I, what do you think? No. Wow. No. Didn't think about it for a second.
Starting point is 00:31:00 I like the fight, but Navajo should be, Navajo is like a win. away from fighting for the bell. Why is he fighting RDR who's 1 and O in the UFC and he beat a wash Roman DeLidezay? Like I, it's, no, can't do that. Harry likes Robocop versus Brendan
Starting point is 00:31:17 Allen as well. Knuckles also likes Robocop Brandon Allen. What else different do we have here? Judees versus Angela Hill. Now this is a good idea. No, Hill's, yeah. Can we do that fight? No, we can't do that fight. What, Judy's Angela Hill?
Starting point is 00:31:33 Can we do that fight? Why can we not do that fight? Are they in the same division? Oh. Oh, right. They're not, but I mean, Angie's come up to 125 before. Which you want to do that. It doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
Starting point is 00:31:51 I'm trying to think that once in the last time she fought it. Oh, it's been a long time. She fought a flower. And that was probably for, oh, some would say never. I'm talking to see she had a catchweight bat at one point. I swear I thought Angela Hill, like during COVID era, something fought at 125 in the UFC but yeah you can't do that I'm mistaken okay I saw I I saw I recommend that too and it did not immediately jump out at me so okay unless
Starting point is 00:32:12 Angela has like announced she's going to 125 or something then then then then done cutting weight right I mean she's cutting weight for years uh Wint Denzel Freeman Emers go me Godziya versus fortune taco versus the ZM Sola winner Arboza Mariscall Dorsonville versus elder McVay Cody Brundage Dyer versus Sam Hughes. Who was this? Whose picks were these? These were Knuckles.
Starting point is 00:32:39 No, okay, because I love, I got the Dorsonville elder pick, too. I actually love that. I know Elder had a leg injury that, I think, end of last year, so hopefully he will be back to fight soon. Mike, where do you sit on the, the Dorsonville nickname, Controversy? What's his nickname? Okay, so he is Stan.
Starting point is 00:32:55 That's right. I keep forgetting you were covering, you obviously were not actively covering Sacramento this week. So Stan is Stan, Stan the drill, Dorsonville. So we got a little rhyming, right? Not terrible. He works at Home Depot. That's sort of his whole gimmick. He's the latest like,
Starting point is 00:33:11 oh, wow, this guy works at Home Depot and he's a UFC fighter. And like, you know, social media kind of blowing it up. And then the usual like, well, he's a UFC fighter. Why is still working at Home Depot? Shout out to Home Depot. Fine, fine establishment. And there are many times. Jed is very upset. Have you seen Jed's rage toward Mr. Dorsonville? He does not understand why Stan is not Stan the Anvil, Dorsonville.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Oh, okay, I get it. He has put out a, like a religious anger at this man, almost like a calling that he must hate Stan Dorsonville. But the Home Depot thing kind of adds to it. I mean, do you think he's making a mistake? Is this a Dennis Bazooka situation? You know, where like, you're seeing an obvious. If he gives up the Home Depot job, then he can be the Enville. I don't think he's going to do that.
Starting point is 00:33:59 I think he'll never forget his Home Depot roots. Look at, Joaquin Buckley was working at Walgreens before the Impakasang and I knockout. But he didn't have a Walgreens related nickname, did he? No. Is Numanza? I don't know. Numanza sounds like a prescription drug of some kind. Does it not?
Starting point is 00:34:22 We got to dig into this Joaquin Buckley nickname lore because it's a little bit, it's a little bit over my head. I'm not going to lie. I do not think it was a Walgreens reference. Are you dealing with this condition? Make sure you try out new manza. Side effects, including. Wow. I mean, I could just see it as like one of those commercials that just like,
Starting point is 00:34:39 they last two minutes because they have to run off all the side effects. I can't believe this is the first time you've come up with this. That is unbelievable. Yeah, I just thought, just thought of this. Buckley's taking up beating this week. Sheesh, man. Mike ex roasting. Mike's roasting his nickname and he's getting.
Starting point is 00:34:55 I'm trying. Well, I'm trying. I don't know. Maybe not. I don't know. But I like, Wachene always, oh, never forgets where he can. came from. Yes.
Starting point is 00:35:04 But went in there and battled Tired Woodley and did pretty well up until he didn't. Good stuff. Left lane. Robocop versus Al, I prefer DDP or Piper, but I feel like that's more likely. Hernandez versus Christian Leroy Duncan. That was the number one pick I got for Fluffy. I got a lot of fluffy. Yeah, that kind of makes a lot of sense.
Starting point is 00:35:25 I kind of, I don't know if that fight goes very well for Fluffy because, I mean, there is now a path to victory. I guess Hernandez got to show up. that he's great at getting punched in the face he's just really bad at getting punched or kicked anywhere else uh you can see the effect that it has on him what else we got spivak versus johnny walker that's some do-do i believe uh walker is booked has to be because it was uh it was delayed i mean he was supposed to debut uh i will say i think this recently got it is this for utah he is fighting in utah against he's already booked against mick parker
Starting point is 00:36:03 Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes. So, yes, that is a bit of doo-do from our friend, left lane. RDR versus Gouc, yeah, Gouscoffer, maximal goofiness. Delitzéez-A can go get smoked by Lucas Fernando, and he, if he's going to show up like that. Maderas for Betchki, Jones for Vola, Judees versus Aldrich. Yeah, that's actually pretty good. Wint versus Heinz, Emmer's, Onama, Gadsieff, Tibura, Padilla, Duncan, Barbosa, Meil, Dorsonville, Gibson McVeigh-Valentine
Starting point is 00:36:34 Dyer versus Angela Hill Dyer versus Angela Hill makes a lot more sense Oh maybe that's the one I saw that I was not I'm ahead of not judithes Uh, JJ Alderj is also booked left plane Leflane what's going on? We had, this is a...
Starting point is 00:36:47 She is booked. This is a she's fighting very soon. Two weeks, she's fighting Regina Turin. That's right. We had 36 hours to come up with these Leflane. What is going on? Lefleyn, a very good matchmaker, very good matchmaker, by the way.
Starting point is 00:37:01 That's the only reason I'm so, I'm so, I'm so out of sorts right now. Yeah, he was watching R.RF. Micah, I believe we're closing with him. Hope I'm not too late again. For this week, for this week, Greg Kopp versus DDP. He's with you, AK. Fluffy versus Icrum.
Starting point is 00:37:16 Magic wand, he goes to welterweight and fights Balal. Interesting. I like Fluffy versus Icrum a lot, by the way. Are you big on the potential welterweight move, though? I had that was a lot of discussion on the post-fight show. If you can make it. Yeah, because I think anytime we see a guy whose body is a little bit like it has some round parts to it, I think people assume he can just easily cut the way. I don't know if that's the case.
Starting point is 00:37:43 I have to take a like a closer look at his build and frame, but I understand why people say it. But that is a lot. I mean, you remember the 185 to 170 guys. That's a little extra than some of the other weight classes. So yeah, if you could do it, great. I'm not super convinced his body is made for that, but I don't mind the discussion. I don't think he's going to go to middleweight or go to welterweight. So I really like the Akron fight.
Starting point is 00:38:06 That makes a ton of sense. RDR versus Jan, Vitor versus the Acosta Blades loser. Everyone is going to that fight. Win or lose. Vitor fights one of those two guys. Went to versus Freeman. Medeiros versus Torres, Padilla versus Jalen Turner.
Starting point is 00:38:21 I really like that fight. Gadsia versus Lewis needs to happen. And he's jumping right in. Carly Judis versus Tracy Cortez, just thrown right into the rank competition. and I like that fight. A.K., on to you, my friend. Okay, thank you, my best friend.
Starting point is 00:38:37 I got a weird one here. I got a weird one because they're sending to me. They said they used to send to you. It's a Jamal Smith. Does it just Mall Smith ring a bell? Yes, it does. I think, what is this reasoning here? I'll read.
Starting point is 00:38:51 I should read this out. They, oh, they deleted their Instagram. Good for you, people. If you, any, the more social media you can delete, if you don't need it for personal reasons. go for it, man. I mean, I'm too in it for work. And also I'm just a junkie.
Starting point is 00:39:05 I'm on Twitter all the time. It's just terrible. It's just terrible. So good for you, Jamal. So yeah, sorry, I should read the picks here. I'm just so cool. Out of sorts.
Starting point is 00:39:16 There's anything new here. Mason Jones, Tofique, I think you mentioned that. Padilla, Fresium Sola winner, UFC Paris. I had some people send variations of this in. I don't mind it. Dorsonville versus Sadiq. You said, man, Sadiq, where are you at, Sadiq? I'm sorry, I wanted to mention some of the popular picks we had.
Starting point is 00:39:36 I know you like Chris on Chris, but I got a lot of people agreeing with me with Maderos and Chris Duncan. And Mike, where is David Onama? Where's David Onama? A lot of people want to see him fight Jamal Emmer's. Where is this young man? I got, yeah, I read off a couple of those. I have no idea. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:39:51 Jeez. We have not seen him since November, I think. Headlining, his first headlining fight. You know what? I hope he's healthy and that he's just retooling. Because if he has the time and he has the resources to just really go to the gym and not have to fight until he's ready and he's fails and improved. Because I still like Onama, man. Like I just think, you know, I think I said after that loss, like he'll learn.
Starting point is 00:40:12 He'll learn from a loss like that. That was also the fight. Was that the fight where he looked super bad? Yeah. And his teammate, Isaac Dolgarian, fought on the same card. Okay. Where now? I'm like, we can't.
Starting point is 00:40:25 We can't. David Onama has not posted to his. Instagram. Oh, no. In, I mean, several months since March 31st. Since, yeah, since Israel-A-Sanya fought Joe Pfeiffer. That was the last time David Onama's posted on Instagram. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:45 In that case, I take back everything I said about him, taking time off and improving. It could be something else going on. I don't know. But we don't know. We can't say. DGB, Padilla and King Green, Derritter versus the Sue. Umar C. Modessa Baccoscosk winner the fighting at
Starting point is 00:41:01 Yosie Paris. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. M.MA patron. What is up? The Ritter versus Dominic Reyes Mersakhanov winner. That was a recently book. UFC 333. Delizze versus Zhang Mingyang. I think his rationale was like just gives Yang a win.
Starting point is 00:41:17 So they want to kind of get him back of the winning track. That's pretty cold-blooded but fair. Oh, M.A patron had their take on what to do with the middleweight cluster. I'm going to need to get your input on this. So they think Strickland will fight Imovov. I'm not been as convinced of this just because I feel like he, I just don't think they would have let him sit for this long.
Starting point is 00:41:39 I just give him a title shot. He should get it. But I don't know if that's where they go. Strickland, Imov, Duplice, Bahalio, number one contender fight. Gregor Rodriguez, Brandon Allen. A lot of people suggest to that. Anthony Hernandez, Joe Piper. Hamzot, out of the picture, Mike.
Starting point is 00:41:53 Hamzot up to 205. This is just the most insane thing I've ever heard. What part is, what part is she? Literally all of it. Oh. Joe Piper versus Fluffy Hernandez. There's just a zero chance this fight happens. Tom's not just out of the picture.
Starting point is 00:42:11 Light heavy weights, time. He got bodied in middleweight by Sean Strickland, who fought at welterweight less than five years ago. There are no Sean Strickland's at 205. That's very true. I shouldn't say that. I'm trying to think this people who have actually similar, like fighting style.
Starting point is 00:42:27 I don't know. I mean, I mean, if that happens, sure. Perhaps it's a little intense with my, that's the most worst thing I've ever heard. That's the way to go to you. It is light heavy way, which is just Garbo. I mean, it's not going to happen, but I like the imagination. I'll say that. I feel like we're heading towards the immediate rematch.
Starting point is 00:42:52 I don't think. Oh, we, I would. And I'm not even saying this from a point of like inside baseball, because I don't know for sure, but I would be shocked if we don't get Strickland Hamzaat too. This is so silly. I just, I don't even know why we're doing this. Okay, even if Comzot wins, like it's like, okay, cool, but just
Starting point is 00:43:10 And we're going to do it again. They're just going to fight a third time. And poor Imov is just going to chill and watch all these dudes fight for the belt that he has earned the opportunity to fight for. It's crazy. And where does DDP fit in on this? He beats Strickland twice. I guess, you know what? They could sell a third Strickland fight on the fact that the first fight was close.
Starting point is 00:43:26 I will give them that. There is, there is, oxygen for a third DDP strikeman fight. But we'll see. Four-corner sports, Anthony Hernandez-Bahlio, Maderos, Daniel Zell-Huber. I don't think Daniel Zell-Huber deserves that fight. What? I think he's like a little bit of a bigger name, but they're just streaking in opposite directions. Yeah, Daniel has been, Daniel hasn't want to fight since in a really long time.
Starting point is 00:43:51 Like the last Olympics, baby? It's been a while. Don't remind Jed. Uh, F-Rod, Petrino versus Sergei Pavlovich. Ooh. I don't know. Too soon. Too soon.
Starting point is 00:44:05 I don't think so. It's heavy weight. Pavich got to fight somebody. Yeah, I would do it. He'd be crazy not to take that fight. Okay. Oh, yeah, I mean, Petrino's definitely. Corey Champlin, Padilla, Gibson, Jr., Gaziv, Span, Pinto,
Starting point is 00:44:20 winner, Derriter, Khalil, roundtree. I'm really curious to see what they do with Cole. Artur. Let me see. I don't want to repeat too much here. Maderos, Joe Burr, Barbosa Khan Offley. I don't know if you all about that. McVeigh, shout out to McVeigh,
Starting point is 00:44:36 Jackson McVeigh, winning the long hair battle. Breachek versus Breachek, Barbrecich. Braden, Dele-Zae, Jacoby. I feel like we might be done with DeLi, I don't know. But if you have my stuff... We might be kind of like on the other side with Jacoby, too. Yeah, this is true. That's true.
Starting point is 00:44:52 Mason Jones, Charlie Campbell, that's fun. Judeese, Aldrich, Terrine, winner. That's how you do it. That's right, Braden. You remember that they're fighting. And I agree. I think that either... Well, gosh, if Regina Turin beats Aldrich,
Starting point is 00:45:04 what I throw her in there with Judeece, maybe. Damn. There'd be a lot of hype around Regina if she pulled that off. Yeah. She has a huge following on social media. Okay, interesting. Let me jump ahead to Jonah Friedman.
Starting point is 00:45:18 Jonah Friedman asks, like, Maderos Padilla 2? Like I think it's too soon. I do want to see them run it back someday, but it's only one fight. Sorry, well, I guess it'll be two fights removed for both guys. I just think it's too soon.
Starting point is 00:45:30 I do think they have to settle that because it was a weird fight. That Padilla probably should have gotten the scorecards. Oh, yeah. I like the idea. I did it. When they're both in the rankings, sure. Do it.
Starting point is 00:45:42 Okay. Yeah, yeah. I don't think we're far off. I don't think it's a bad pick. I don't either. Barry O'Reilly, McVeigh, Cesar Almeida, Dorsonville, Zell Hubert.
Starting point is 00:45:50 That I kind of People forget, man. That's better. That's better. Yes. I've seen some crazy match as a Redors and Vilton. He's only 6-0. That was a 6th pro fight.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Marsha Barbosa, Jordan Levitt. I think that's the right range. The World Street. Derrida Prohashka. Yeah, I saw like we'll say this. They want to see Jets. Zero chance that happens. The Jet family.
Starting point is 00:46:09 We're building to that, certainly. Petrino and Skokan Saracom. Sure. I'll read this one up from Barry. Gregory Rodriguez, Adisania. I would love Robocop v. DDP. but I think he will fight Imov for the next Telos shot, I think referring to a DDP.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Or just want to fight the winner of Strickland-Shimae. Okay, I don't know how that works out. I do not like, I don't like this pick at all. Okay. Mike, Mike, Robocoff will be higher in the rankings than Izzy. Certainly. But still a great name to have in the resume. While it would be a huge, I'll be for Izzy,
Starting point is 00:46:39 if he beats the streaking Robocop and wants one more potential title run. No. No, okay. I'm sorry. No, it's just, he gains nothing from this. Like, Izzy's just, people are going to see this and be like, up, is he going to lose again? And could you do Izzy fluffy? That makes more sense to me.
Starting point is 00:47:01 But ultimately, I think we do, I think Izzy's just kind of on the, who's the, like, Izzy Ikram makes more sense to me. Like, you got to get a guy over. Could you just do Izzy Boeh, nickel? Like, is that what we do? I don't mind that either. Like, this is just kind of where Izzy is right now. unfortunate and it's weird to say that about one of the three best middleweights
Starting point is 00:47:23 of all time at worst but I mean he's lost what five in a row four in a row I mean this is kind of where he's at he's on the let's get the young guy over train and Gregory is you know younger than he looks but I think Gregory's kind of over
Starting point is 00:47:39 right now I don't think he needs the Izzy rub right now after what he did on Saturday I still love yeah I love that Izzy Boe Nickel just because you know when Beau first came to the OC feel like, man, you know, Bo was such a highly-tolered prospect with his obviously wrestling.
Starting point is 00:47:53 They're like, could he beat Izzy right now? So it's, you know, could he be easy right now? He would be favored. I think Boyd-Saw. Certainly, certainly. Interesting. Speezy-32. He wants Grigua-Radriguez and Imov.
Starting point is 00:48:06 That would be, I love the fight. That's a tough break for both guys. That's a really bad break for Imovov. Like that, I mean, you're just, boy, as a guy who earned a title shot, you don't even get to fight one of the former champions you have to fight the surging contender who's outside of the top five like that is a bad draw for him patrino versus louis i think that'd be super funny i would love to see that uh wind versus jovan lecca i really thought about this the thing is jovan is actually pretty experienced um i'm not saying he's been killing like elite competition but he has quite a bit more experience than wint i i actually think that's a really bad idea for anthony wins yeah because i know you said uh like i know you said chatman obvious chapman was not was no great shake. But when I was watching Chapman's film before Sacramento,
Starting point is 00:48:53 he actually is like, obviously nowhere physically capable of dealing with Wint, but like he could strike a little bit. And if that fight had spent any time on the feed, it would look very bad for Wins. It didn't. And it wasn't going to. But Lekha might not be so easy to handle. Again, I know we're talking about
Starting point is 00:49:08 athleticism, different streak, different shore. It might not be time for that yet. But I get the logic behind it. Marcia Barbosa versus Christian Rodriguez and Spezi is saying Barbossa will be top five, Mike. Marisarbosa will be at top five featherweight down the road. You heard it here first. Spezzi, call your shot. Remind me when this, when this happens, Spezzi, please remind me. Tom Samuel says Mason Jones, McKinney, Armand, Surkian, Stan, Count, Petrino, Perichich, and yes, he loves the Battle of the
Starting point is 00:49:39 Chris's. Sorry, I got out quite a few this week. Instagram, Alex Van Dam wants Maderos versus is if he moves up to 155, Melki Costa. Melke has expressed interest in coming up. So we'll see. I actually kind of like that. Judisvers any flyweight drops out of fight in any upcoming event. Yeah, that's really, I thought that's where you were going to go with it, Mike.
Starting point is 00:49:58 When you were saying you didn't really have a name per se, just that she needs to get in there like as soon as possible. I like that idea as well. Just keep fighting all the time. Pretty much. J.B. Petrino, Talosin Tashara. That just look hilarious.
Starting point is 00:50:10 There's a lot of funny fights for Petrino. He's an interesting guy. Gazeev Gazeev versus Spivak for the fourth time Mike Do you remember that this fight has fallen apart three times already? Now you'd mention it, yes.
Starting point is 00:50:25 Now I do. Totally forgot. Had to look it up. J.B., you're spot on. I think we need to make this out. One more time, if it doesn't happen to this now. Harry Newhouse.
Starting point is 00:50:35 He said Dorsonville's elder. Like I said, I love it. McVeigh, Valentin, Dyer, Stephanie Luciano. That is really good, actually. Gerard Biaghan de Ritter Jan Blakovitz, Judis and Jessica Andrajaj, boy, Sacrificer, sure.
Starting point is 00:50:52 And Kazeev and Jamal Hill. Mike Kazib, Jamal Hill? Who's Jamal Hill fighting at Heavyweight, Mike? Tell the people. Honestly, I, if they don't, they should do Hokka-Perara, like that should one billion percent be the fight they make. if it isn't Pereira, they should do Hoke and Chabal Hill.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Oh, shit. Like, they should just do that. They are talking a lot of, they're talking. I mean, those dudes are chirping at each other, man. They're trying to make it happen. And you know, Hawkeet would love to say, I beat a former UFC champion, right? Yeah. Light-heavy, obviously, but that is a former UFC champion of Hocan beats him.
Starting point is 00:51:38 That would be, is that, that's got to be, well, Blades is a really good win. I don't know. I haven't watched that fight since that fight. It's so insane. It's so good, man. It's better when you watch it again. I can't believe it did. I can't believe what to decision.
Starting point is 00:51:54 It's crazy. Absolutely crazy. I don't know how. It's interesting. Yeah, I don't think we're getting Gadsdie of Jamal Hill. I'll say that. I don't think we're getting that. Let me wrap up with some emails here.
Starting point is 00:52:03 Matthew Stormant. Emers, peak Curtis Campbell winner. I, the UFC pairs, I think Emmer's just went, earned a higher name. I like the matchup. Like, I just, I just see Emers get a little. He's just kind of, he, like, like, we were just mentioning it. Emers just needs to fight. more. Like not, I'm not talking about like he needs to fight five times a year, but like get in there like twice a year, maybe three times.
Starting point is 00:52:25 Like just get in there and fight, man. He's so good. And like everyone forgets how good he is because he never fights ever. It's a bummer. You don't want him to get Mike Davis. Don't want that. Shout out to Mike by the way. Mike sent me such a great message that Mike Davis is after 14 years is changing fight camps apparently. And I don't know how it's going to turn out for him, but if by some way it means. we get this guy healthy and more active boy so shout out to mike david's i hope we see uh hope we see a lot of that and no more uh nerello alley of matchups thank you very much uh tristan uh marcia bobosa versus miles johns this is a weird one because i feel like miles is not staying at feather weight i'm pretty sure that last fight was a featherweight only because it was a replacement
Starting point is 00:53:07 opponent or a late book fight but if miles is stay i i don't know that for sure that miles has uh has been in the business for a long time maybe he is tired of cutting weight maybe he loves fighting at 145 So throwing him in there with Barbosa would be interesting. Lucas Cortes DeLise just says, he just says, retire. He says, how funny. He says, sorry, Roman. How funny was it that DeLise tried to give up quickly? And Frank Trigg was still like, nope, sorry, buddy.
Starting point is 00:53:34 You have to take your beating until I'm satisfied. But for real, he's done. Horrible strategy, clearly throw up a Hail Mary, not wanting to fight more than one round. So that was all Lucas. Yeah, it's not his best day. Anthony Hernandez versus Amasaw. at Walter Wait. Fluffy drops down and says Amosov, no one wants to fight you.
Starting point is 00:53:53 Bring it on. Huh. Hmm. Interesting. It's interesting. Spivak, Walter Walter Walker, Judice. Mike, and I don't, did someone mention this one? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:54:07 I know we didn't. Macy Barber? No. Affirm, no. It wasn't, no. No, no. I mentioned it. That's, that's, uh, huh.
Starting point is 00:54:17 I think we're all like hesitant to matchmate for Macy. It's just hard. It's just hard to pin her down. It's hard to figure out. Just so many health issues. Oh, boy, yeah. Yeah, it's a lot. And I'll end with Eli Hitala.
Starting point is 00:54:26 Emers, Gomi, Padilla, Drew Dober. Love that. And for sure, the only person in the world who has recommended this fight, Stan Dorsonville versus Dom Mar fan. And, Mike, when Dom Marfan gets mentioned on to the next one, the dogs start barking, and I think it is time for us to call it a show. Love me some Dom Mar fan, but boy, We have reached deep into the matchmaking bucket here.
Starting point is 00:54:52 So that's it, guys. We will have a show next week. I honestly don't. It's going to be early, obviously. So I don't know if we'll find time to record Saturday, probably Sunday. And who knows, Mike, maybe we'll do one. Yeah, if you guys are feeling it, have that it. I might have to just shower off the filth.
Starting point is 00:55:10 It might be me for Sunday. It might be me and Jed. I don't know. If not, we'll go till Monday. Could be a solo show? Okay, okay. So it's out, yeah, so it's either me and Jen. or a guest host or just meet myself on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:55:21 Either way, no later than Monday, guys, we'll have a show. Reach out to me, Alex. Dot Lee at SBNation.com. Alexadley at SBNation.com. That's my email. Alexander K. Lee on Twitter, Alexander K.K. Lee on Instagram. My DMs are open, Mike. How can they reach you? M underscore, Heck, J.R.
Starting point is 00:55:38 And that would be the best way to do it. Although, I don't know if I'm going to be on, but send them over. I'll make sure they get where they need to go. Yes, please do. And that's just what we do here. Mike, give us a rundown. Have fun. Let me see you do some of these names here. Oh, yeah. So yeah, UFC Shanghai going down. Give some names, Mike. Give some names. It's going to be real bad. The main event is recent title challenger. Umar and Maga made up versus
Starting point is 00:56:05 Songyedong. Great fight. I'm really looking forward to that fight. It's an excellent matchup. Co-man Janjana versus DDC Goams. Good fight. Feature about Arici Lang versus Kaya Sukura. Very fun. This is a good main card. This main card is strong. Yeah. Okay, it's actually better than I thought it was going to be. Alex Perez Tumadirji. When Alex Perez fights, nothing but weirdness happens.
Starting point is 00:56:28 Levi Rodriguez Jr. versus Lucy? I'm going to say Lou Chi, but I don't know for sure. I should know these. People I know, I know I'm the one who should know these things. I'm working on it. Okay, I'm working on it. Then we have the highly anticipated UFC debut of Bilal Hussein, who should not have even been fighting on Contender Series,
Starting point is 00:56:48 but did was the biggest favorite in Contender Series history, and he's already making his debut, taking on Nielsen Rojas, two 9-0 guys. One of those O's has to go. That's the main card. Then we go Andre Lima versus Namsri, Batbyar, Ray Suruya versus Kevin Borjas, Long Zhao versus Francesco Nuzi,
Starting point is 00:57:12 Jack Jenkins versus Sean Woodson, Lawrence Louis versus, Hector Santiago, Jingnan Zhang versus Julia Palastri, and then we kick things off in the welterweight division with Meng Ding taking on a guy I honestly have never heard of in my entire life, Canadian fighter, did not even, don't know how we ended up on this card, but he did. Cam Nelson, the, the veteran of the Fight League Atlantic organization, which I believe is a, is that a Florida promotion?
Starting point is 00:57:49 There's that a Canadian. I think it's Canadian. I think we, uh, Nova Scotia. Shout out. Oh, I have been to Nova Scotia many times. Yes. A beautiful land over in Nova Scotia. So that is UFC Shanghai. You didn't, you didn't
Starting point is 00:58:04 have to read it. You know what? I didn't have to read the road to UFC fight. Yes, that's, that's the one I was trying to trip you up on because there's a guy who just got added to this card. His name is I'll spare you Mike Yili Jati my matichung
Starting point is 00:58:22 my matichung I think I will guys I will nail this by Thursday or when is this card Friday whenever the I will have this name down by the time road to UFC comes up and I only mention it Mike because two fights on this road to USC event are official UFC fights did you know yeah we're doing that thing again we're doing that thing we have Darius Flowers Mahashate is the main event so that will count to both their UFC records
Starting point is 00:58:42 and Tristan Vine Justin Vines will be fighting in Shanghai against Yi. I'm so bad at this. Yili Jati. I'll get it, guys. I'm so sorry. We believe, we believe in you, AK. We believe in you.
Starting point is 00:58:58 That's not the right one. We gotta hit the... There it is. That's the... Yes. What time is that card? Sorry, is that 3 a.m. Eastern? Or Shanghai?
Starting point is 00:59:12 Early early. early. Let's make sure early. And I hit Orlando tomorrow is the whatever Mike Perry versus Dylan Dennis card is going to be.
Starting point is 00:59:27 I honestly have no clue. 3 a.m. start time for Shanghai. So make sure you get a good night's sleep. Have your coffee alerts and alarms ready to go. And that is a fun main car. That main event rules. I'm very, very excited for Umar versus Songy Dong.
Starting point is 00:59:41 And we appreciate you listening to another episode of On to the next one for A.K. I am Mike Heck. We are out of here.
