The UFC returned to the APEX for UFC Vegas 110 on Saturday, but couldn’t escape the weirdness that has plagued recent cards. This time, it was Ante Delija getting knocked out moments after a bout was stopped and then restarted when Delija poked Waldo Cortes-Acosta in the eyes. The controversy threatened to overshadow Steve Garcia’s outstanding win over David Onama in the main event, but regardless, the UFC has two surging contenders in Garcia and Cortes-Acosta, both of whom have unclear paths to a title opportunity. On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Alexander K. Lee discuss what to do with Garcia—following what Mike believes is one of the worst callouts in UFC history—and Cortes-Acosta coming off of their latest knockout wins. The matchmaking crowns are back on following the UFC's long-awaited return to the world's most famous Apex. And what the UFC gave us and what the fighters gave us and what the event gave us was quite possibly the most apexy card in the history of Apex cards.

I mean, there were, there was laughs, there were cries, there were what the hell is going on here. I mean, anything you can imagine, there was symbolic stuff happening in the heavyweight division where the I poke story in the division continued on. And most importantly, Team Heck in his fantasy squad very much alive and well going down the stretch. but we'll talk all things UFC Vegas 110 from a matchmaking perspective. I am Mike Hacken. And joining me is my co-host, co-matchmaker, Prince of Positivity, best friend, and a man who, I've been thinking about him a lot today. It was tough scenes last night, game seven of the World Series, seemed like the Blue Jays are about to win it.

The most unlikely home run hitter, the Bucky Dent, if you will, of the Los Angeles Dodgers, It's the game-tying home run. And unfortunately, the Dodgers win the World Series in seven games. I welcome in the great Alexander Cayley, AKA, I was rooting for you. I was rooting for the Blue Jays. I was hoping they could get it done, mostly for your sake. But I'm very sorry, my best friend. How are we doing?

Thank you. Thank you, my best friend. Thank you all the listeners out there who also I know feeling great sympathy for myself in the Toronto Blue Jays. my prints of positivity mindset has rarely ever been so tested. I will say that. It was hard, man. It was hard to see how the Blue Jays went down.

I mean, really, but there was so much positive during this whole season, during the postseason. That's what I've kind of been trying to tell myself and some of my friends and family who, like, you know how it is, Mike. You have when your, again, your team has gone through many into many World Series this century. And, you know, you have friends and family who aren't, you know, hardcore fans, but then they jump on. They get invested with you. And then it doesn't go your way. The devastation is suddenly increased

like a hundredfold in like some regular season game. You're watching with a couple of buds. Now it's like your aunts and uncles and your cousins are asking, what the hell happened? I thought it was. So then you have to be the logical one. You have to be the positive one. You can't be bringing everyone down.

So, yeah, man, a lot of great times. I mean, the savage stuff. Bladi Girl, arguably being the best player in baseball for the last like three weeks, last month. like the way they came back people kept counting them out oh they lost this game there's no way they're coming back they would come back they'd win in the road setting themselves up for a chance to win the world series two shots at home these things happen man so some wild some wild stuff happens they had good luck they had bad luck like i know we're people going to focus on the bad luck

that ball getting stuck at the wall um uh some some poor base running you know there's yeah there's a lot of stuff that didn't go there uh frigginne himine as hitting a screamer right at muncy and the amazing reflexes to catch that. A lot of stuff, bad luck. But a lot of good luck. Again, if you go back and look at how he breaks that Jay's got a ton of those too. So, you know, anyone who's seen their team go this deep or even goes far as to win the World Series knows, like a lot of wild stuff has to happen. And this is, you know, and sometimes your team is dominant.

I don't think my Jays are one of those teams, but they were a magical team. I love him forever. And I love everyone when he came along on this journey. It was a good time, man. But, yeah, we move on. We move on. It's going to be nice to just not think about baseball for, like, three months. Yeah.

Thank God for the UFC giving us, not just what Abex card. Two. We get back to backers. I forgot where I was talking with Vegas. Mike, how many times in the last month or like five weeks, six weeks, have we said, well, this is the strangest UFC card I've ever seen? I feel like we've had, because I think what we had one happened, I don't remember as a pay-per-view or the Perth one or something, one of those cards.

And we said, like, well, this has to be one of the, like, argue with the strangest U.C. card we've ever seen. But then, like, a week later, two weeks later, we had more weirdness. now today, sorry, Saturday, more weirdness. And we're like,

are these, like, three of the 10 weirdest cards in, like, the UFC's pretty lengthy history at this point? Obviously,

a lot of it has to do with, like, the officiating. It's a lot of officiating controversy. But, like, that's not the only stuff. Just strange.

What's come off of the officiating controversy, the comments after? Just weird, man. We said the word weird way too many times. I apologize to anyone listened to our programming

where we must have said the word weird about the UFC 500,000 times over the last, six weeks. But what else can you say, Mike? How else can we put it? Yeah. I mean, it started with, it started with Perth, you're right, with the Neil Magnet, Jake Matthews, craziness. Gosh, that feels like four months ago now. It feels like a year and a half. UFC 320 was what it was with, you know, ribgate with Ancolaev and all that. And then we had Rio with

handgate with the betting stuff. And of course, by the way, U.S. integrity yet to release a public statement, yet to react to respond to multiple inquiries by me about what is going on. How is this allowed to happen? Anything you want to release to the public? We'll get to that. We'll get to Del Valle and Dahlgarian on the show for sure. And then Vancouver was super weird.

321 was obviously super weird. And it was just all over the place. So let's get into it. I have to tell you, okay, I thought about this last night. First of all, the good. Steve Garcia beat the hell out of David O'Nama. David O'Nama looked like a deer in headlights from the second that fight started. And Steve Garcia was an 18-wheeler, just ready to go, kept pressuring, kept landing big shots.

Onama had nothing for him. He's listening to Yusuf Zalal on the corner yelling, hey, I figured him out. He's going to do this. and when he does this, he's going to do that. And then he knocked out David and now like 10 seconds later. And then the man gets on the microphone. And I have to say this, okay, I can't believe this. But this is ultimately what I landed on.

Steve Garcia's callout of Max Holloway. This may be the hottest sake I've ever given. This was worse than Joaquin Buckley calling O'Connor McGregor. This was worse. This was worse. You want to know why it was worse? Because Joaquin Buckley did his call out on purpose. He did it to piss people off.

He did it to get people talking about him. He didn't do it like out of the, like from the heart. He did it out of the, how could I piss off the MMA community? Steve Garcia meant every word of his call out. And truly from the depths of his soul believe this could happen in this moment, which is why I have officially landed on this being worse than Buckley. And this is in my opinion, I didn't list them all out. out, this is the top, at worst, this is the seventh worst callout in UFC history.

It is so bad. I was a list. I mean, at worst, it could be higher. It truly could be higher than this. I could not believe he fumbled this so badly. I thought, and I thought he was going to fumble all the way, AK. I thought he was going to fumble. I thought he's going to sit there and be like, I should be fighting Volcanovsky.

I should be getting the title shot. and I was ready to give him an F and then he did this and I gave him an F minus. I would give him a Q if I could, I could give, I wish I could give him a Q. Not the Q. It was so bad.

A Q. I could, he just, he screwed this up so badly, AK, and I want to give him something really good. Not that like the name I'm saying is not good, but I want to give him something higher. And I just can't. I can't. doesn't deserve it. He doesn't deserve it after this performance on the microphone. So I ask you,

AK, what do we do with Steve Garcia after a phenomenal showing in the fight, but maybe the most reprehensible performance on the microphone with Daniel Corby, we have seen in quite some time? I think myself and the rest of the enemy fighting staff, we're probably not as harsh on it as you are. It is bad. It is bad. One, Max Holloway, even if he was still fighting. 145 pounds it's just not going to happen see garsi it wasn't it wasn't going to happen and then too again he's not fighting at 145 pounds anymore he's very clearly a 155er i don't know if steve garsia was insisting he was like or suggesting he was going to move up to 155 but why would he it to make so sense at the current like uh path that his career is in right now um so yeah it was bad

i think it's hurt less by the fact that i feel like less people are going to see this just because of the name i think anytime you call out conroger like you said mike that's the reason buckley did it he knows you've mentioned McGregor it's going to make the headlines suddenly everyone talks about oh even if it's bad it's like oh this is that goofy fighter who called up McGregor so you're getting some buzz that way this isn't this is barely going to read for better for worse this is barely going to register in the greater you know combat sports sports sphere like we're talking about it I feel like by Thursday you know it's just not going to it's not going to come on maybe you guys are mentioned on BTL or something like that I'm like I know

I know you won't let him get away with it I know I know this will be a stinging point until Steve Garcia, like Walking Buckley, finds a way to turn the franchise around. But I think overall, for the most part, this is like a ripple. It's like a ripple, right? I don't think people are too on Steve about this. Oh, and I mean this like with every fiber of my being. After today, we will never talk about this event again. Like maybe we'll get like a fan Q&A question about the betting stuff.

But like, let's be brutally oddest here. This event will have never existed after tomorrow. nothing nothing that happened steve garcia's win none of it will be talked about probably ever again outside of like a promo video hyping up his next fight with the guy that he's going to have to fight but it's not going to be the most ideal situation for him if he catch my drift so this is just really bad man i just it like it matters like that spot matters because you know what really irked me about it after a k is he went to the post fight show, Michael Kiesa is handing him names.

And then he goes to the press conference. I mean, if you're going to be a bull, like, as Jed says, if you're going to be a bear, be a grizzly, like, if this is the fight you really want, like, just keep tripling down on it. Don't change your mind five minutes later. And then Steve Garcia is going to do a bunch of interviews with like everybody. And it's going to be like, nah, man, I want it, Josh Schemitt the whole time. He's going to say something that's not true. And it's going to really irk me even more.

So that spot matters. Ask below Muhammad how much being under that spotlight and having the right name matters. Because the dude had to fight 800 more times when he could have fought Ham, just could have kept calling for Hamzat in those big spots. But instead was like, I'll fight Oosbid or Colby. When he had no chance of getting those fights. Instead he could have called out the boogeyman and probably got him. It's just so bad.

I don't know who's, I don't know who's like in this man's ear, but you got to do a better job. Guide your client. Guide your fight. fighter in a much better direction because you could fight your ass off. But if you have like no charisma and no sense of what's going on around you, it's just not going to go well for you. Your road is just going to get way, way, way, way, way longer. So I love Steve Garcia as a fighter, but this is bad. What's Paul Heyman doing? Can we get Paul Heyman in to speak on behalf of Steve Garcia?

Come on. Now, if he ends up getting the opponent that he should get next, I think we both agree, Are we both saying Josh Emmett? Nope. I'm going further back. Oh, you're, you were, you would have originally wanted Josh Emmett before he offended you. Josh is the right call. Josh is like the safe. Josh is like this, Josh is the safety school call out.

Yes. Joshua's Berkshire Community College. Like you're getting in. If you just say the name, if you just write a check, you're in. But I think he, him not calling out use of soul. And let me just be clear. He would not get use of. Salah. But he would look like a hero if he called out Yusuf, who's standing right there, talking

shit about you as you're fighting his teammate loudly for the whole world to hear. For the 817 people who watched that card last night, we all heard Yusuf Zalal say, I know what this guy's doing before even he does. So that would have been cool as hell if he just like got the finish and then looked right at Yusuf and just like pointed at him. And just that movie iconic moment when you're in the rain and just point the guy like, I'm coming. That would have been awesome. He may not have got it. John Silver would have been an incredible callout.

I would have stood up and applauded that callout. But he's not even going to get Josh Abbott anymore either. But I like it for you, A.K. I like it for you, but I'm going even further back. Yeah. We're, you know, listen, we're trying to fix things here, Mike. Like you said, he made, it's the callout in the cage matters. Probably the most, why the most, right?

it's it's it's it's it's just what everyone's going to be talking about like right now so listen we have a headline on the front of a m a feigning dat cam steve garcia explains why he prefers josh emmifite over eustace of all like we're trying to do him a favor we're trying to hope hope that people see this headline and feel like oh he just wants josh emmett that's that makes sense uh but i have a feeling more people will see the club of him calling out max holloway than they will see uh our great our great dame martin's uh post fight presser comments but Um, yeah, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I got this ugly incident behind us, Mike, and just match him up with Josh. Uh, so, uh, so I, I, I, I want to, like, I, like, I want to, like, get him out of the, I want to, like, I got to be fair with my criticism, because you just got, you got, you got to learn, like, you just got to learn. You can't do that. And yes, Joaqukeke, eventually learn. He got the, uh, the wonder boy fight. After the wonder boy fight. What does he do?

what does he do he calls out oosman which is a perfect call-out at that time it was terrific and then ended up getting colby and yeah then he ended up getting oosman later on so what i ultimately went with was i'm not going too far up i'm giving him a guy that's ranked above him because let's be honest like when the rankings come out on tuesday he ain't going anywhere he's staying at 12 so he is i feel like right now Now the UFC is looking at him as, hey, the worst way we can look at this is that we get to bring out this exciting fighter and he just fights more before he gets to the belt. Like we have time to develop this guy or at least let him just fight these dudes one at a time. And I really feel truly that's the road he's going to have to take. So right now in the UFC ranking C is ranked number 12.

He just beat the number 13 guy. So he's now going to fight the number 11 guy, which is a good name. the former two-division bellator champion, Patricia Pitbull. Yeah, that's good. Yeah. That's it. Like, God, I wish he called out John Silva,

so we'd be having a much different conversation. That's a good one, too. That's the fight. He just ain't getting it now. He missed two obvious ones, didn't he? He whiffed on a couple of fastballs down the middle. Oh, why don't use a baseball reference? But, yes, a couple of whiffs there by our boys, Steve Garcia.

It's a great performance. Great performance. You can, at Mike, we've seen with Buckley. You can turn it around. We can turn. 2026 will be the year. Buckley has like,

Buckley has something though. He like, and I like Steve. Like I've interviewed him like he is a pretty cool guy. Not to feel behind the curtain, but you even you said like, you know, we're trying to,

we're trying to get this guy back on track. Like we wrote about his why he prefers Josh Emmett over use of Solal. Let me tell you something. Just looking at how things are tracking right now. Auntie Delijah, who loves. lost and cheated his ass off.

Ten times more people care about what he is saying right now than what Steve Garcia is saying right now. And I'll leave it at that. Okay. And we can move on to Ante. Sort of. Sort of. No. No, no. No, no, no, no. No, we're talking about the hero. Oh, God. Of UFC Vegas 110. In fact, I'll go as far as to the hero of 2025 in the UFC

will be in the running for Fighter of the Year after this performance. Waldo Cortez Acosta. I mean, you want to talk about a true Rocky Balboa story, Steve Garcia? Why don't you go back and watch what Waldo Cortez Acosta did with one eye on Saturday? Not only did he get a first round finish. He got a bonus and he got me like 200 fantasy points yesterday. But all kidding aside, that was the strangest friggin thing I've ever seen. He won.

No, he didn't. It's a no contest. Actually, wait a minute. we're going to restart the fight and then the other guy wins by first round knockout the strangest spawn in the world a hey and you know it is what it is waldo wins i know uh most of the m a fighting fantasy players are like why how is this happening you don't deserve those points we're reviewing it this is under review this is under review it's under review i i'm i'm going as far i'm going to call our own uh e k c liden i believe it not our own anymore to say sorry uncrowinglyingly that's how far this

used to go. We need to bring in the whole. He's still part of the fantasy league. No, it counts. Everything stands. In fact, he should get double the points. But I don't want to like get to, Jose and I talked about it a bunch on the post fight show. His call out sucked ass too, if we're being honest on the microphone. The rant is great. So I'm not going to penalize him that much because at least I was laughing as Waldo. was just going bananas on the mic and then he calls out Aspinall and he has no chance. He then settles down and goes back to the post-fight press conference and delivers the correct name and it's Curtis Blades. So I'm going to, I'm going to go at that. And just because this is like nowhere else to go, I want to give him Derek Lewis, but I already

gave Derek Lewis to Walter Walker, so I can't do that. Derek Lewis was 100% the call out for WCA yesterday. but Curtis Blades, like, who calls out Curtis Blades these days? Only a hero calls out Curtis Blades. And that hero is Waldo Cortez-A-Costa salsa boy in the house. Let's go. Okay, well, I could not do that because I have, I think on the very last show, I said, I wanted Volkov Blades too.

So I'm standing by that. I'm not changing the answer. I don't feel so strongly about WCA Blades. Though you're right, it is the right callout that, like, I'm going to go back on that. So I will have a name. But Mike, just quickly for me, Mark Smith, you know, my initial reaction on social media was like, holy crap, you can't do this. You can't just restart this fight.

But if I'm not mistaken, everything he did was technically within the like guidelines, right? You can go to replay if you think there was a miscall and you can restart the fight. Like technically, Mark Smith did nothing wrong, right? Like, that's all by the book, right? Yeah. Okay. I think it was going to get reviewed anyways. Yeah, yeah.

I think like, I think that's just one of those situations where you just like you have to review it. Yeah. It just felt super wrong. It felt like bad in the moment. It was clearly an eye poke. It was clearly an eye poke. Yes. We have to be clear.

He did poke his eye. And seeing it come from anti-Delijah after everything that happened this week is unbelievable. It could not. M. M. M. is funny. Never say the anime gods don't have a sense of humor.

You can call them cruel, you know, when like fight gets canceled, fights get canceled, stuff like that. But you can't say they're not funny. And they may have seemed cruel last week when they, you know, spoiled that main events via VAA, you know, through the hand of gone. but they were just loading up the punchline, Mike. They're like, wait a week. They're like, the punchline will come not right away. You have to wait a week for the punchline, and we got it. And that's pretty damn funny.

Even as someone who's like defending, like I'm being like defending Tom Ashwall, you know, he didn't quit, you know, whatever he says he couldn't see. I believe him. This is really funny. That his teammate, we had frigging Delicia literally one or two days before saying, I've never booked someone in the eye in my entire career. Tom, you know, whoever poked you with the eye, this should really be punished. And boy, did Delicia?

essentially getting like the worst possible way. That's how he's saying I've been robbed. You can't, Mike, you cannot make this up. You cannot make this up. I had not even considered this possibility. I don't know why I thought this card would return us to some sort of normalcy. We should have been saying like on Monday like, man, wouldn't it be funny if there was an eye poke at the Delisje Waldo fight? I never even thought about it.

Like either way, either way, I never even thought about it. And then it was him delivering it, getting knocked out, I think 15 seconds after the, the fight was reset or or or 20 seconds 20 seconds that's the fight was reset he gets knocked out amazing stuff amazing stuff m m m may way to go m m may you've done it again people wonder why we can't quit this crazy sport mike stuff like this happens uh what did i say uh you know a jelton i'll give him jelton how about that he can have jelton wow or unless you're you're you're thinking waldo's already ranked above him you have waldo above oh dude i'd just give all the title shot this point before the before the fantasy season ends

like let's just get in there and do it uh god god certainly can't he said he said he wants to fight blaze in december mich so literally oh i would love that i would love that december 13 needs a lot of help right now so let's go in there and and make that happen because brain roy valm and i'll cop that that fight ain't happening so it's going to need it's going to need a main event oh my god oh no yes no he's uh he's uh he's three and one in 2025. Did you ask that? Yeah.

You could get four wins as a heavyweight. I know you were just joking about him being a fighter of the year candidate. But like, if he had four and one, if he had beat Babelich, if he would be damaged and then this happened, he's four and no. Let's say he got Blades in December and beat him. He's probably like top 10. He won't be in my five. What if he knocks out blades? In eight seconds.

Ever at all. Third round. He will be one of, he will be a top honorable mention. I know the division. He might make my top five just for the last. Wow. I love that. I didn't realize he fought four times already in 2025. Good for him. I know for you, Salsa boy. That's why I drafted him. I drafted him for no other reason because I know I'm going to get at least two fights out of him. Unbelievable.

But what a hero. And what a time. And I guess like, it's weird too because like Jose and I were talking on the post-fight show. I wish Dana White was there last night. By the way, the guy that was like shut the F up. Like you should, this card isn't that bad, essentially. And then he wasn't even like in the building and didn't have nothing to say about it. I would have loved to have heard what he had to say about the Isaac Dolgarian situation because Dana would have, Dana knows more about that stuff that I do. But I would have hated him in the building for this.

Because he would have just ripped ass with all even more. And then the community would have been just so much darker again. And we were just coming on the other side of it. And then this happens. And it's just absolutely brutal. So let's go to Jeremiah. Welles AK. It's dart throw time, Mike.

I'll check right now. I don't recall doing well myself, but I feel like none of us have been doing well lately. Temba Garimbo, first of all, can I just say Timber Grimbo being, I wanted to bet on Jeremiah Wells so bad last night. The fact that Jeremiah Wells was a hundred dollar. Wells' underdog getting into this fight is insane to me. But, oh, what was that? I apologize to our Damon Martin, 11 out of 13.

This is a perfect Damon card, though. Wow. Where he knows nothing and just like guesses. Nah, no. He knew a bunch. He only got, he got Changholy wrong. And on paper, that was a 50-50 batch up like him in Kwamba, 50-50. And, uh, suspiciously, the W.

Aryan fight was also the one that he missed. We'll get, again, we will get to that. I also missed that one. We all did, Mike. I wonder why. I wonder why, Mike. We'll get to that. Crazy.

Yeah, Jeremiah Wells looked good. I thought he would beat Timba Grimbo. I thought he should have been like a minus 250 favorite in that fight. Temba, like, fought his ass off and like won the first round. But I don't know, man. Like, whatever Temba has done, he's done it right. Because he has this sort of like vibe about him that he is like a boy. borderline top 15 welterweight and i just never understood that like his story is unbelievable

and he's got a good person out and he's good on the mic but like and then he had the gimmick that you know i'm going to be ufc champion by the end of 2024 or whatever he said and you know that happened and now he's just nice fighting jeremiah wells they're like oh jeremiah was just going to lose this guy he's like the 17th best welterweight in the world and i still don't understand that so i believe jeremiah wells's call out was I'll fight an Australian guy. And I believe Jake Matthews would be like the perfect one. So I just went with that.

Like, obviously, when that happens, people keep an eye on it and they put it out there. And as the stuff started coming out, I obviously go with the best website on earth when it comes to this.

It's fan duel, our good friends. And I'm looking at the lines and I'm like, huh, what I was doing the Q&A, Delgarin is like a minus 255 favorite. Now he's like minus 210. That's a lot of movement. And then by the time the fight starts, so Garian's like a minus 170. And I'm like, okay. And then I'm looking and I'm seeing like draft Kings has like removed the fight, removed all the props and other websites have followed.

You go to best fight odds. You can see a list of like all of them. And like half of them are just like no one's betting on this fight anymore. Which is obviously very sketchy if you're looking at this from a gambling perspective. And then the fight happens. And we're watching it all play out. and we're like, how is this happening? Like, even, like, I have, like, very little

MMA training experience, but if I was fighting Yadir de Valle, I would have defended that joke way better than Isaac D'Kalgarian was. Like, just for, like, basic instinctual stuff. I just didn't understand what was happening. I don't know if it was an injury or whatnot. But it just seemed like based on the trends, Isaac D'Helgarian should not have been fighting, and this fight probably should not have happened.

But DeLavalli just, just, just clobbered him. Like this fight was not competitive for any, not even a single second. And De Valle gets a submission. DC is ripping him. Michael Kiesa is destroying him in the post fight show. Me and Kiesa,

I don't know if it's a mic thing, dropping F minuses on people. He drops to that minus. I wanted to give him a cue. I'd give him a Y right now. This is so bad. And it looked just so sketchy. Like it just looks sketchy.

Without knowing. And the fact that two very well-known gambling entities online within 90 minutes of the fight being over, we're like, we're refunding all Isaac Delgarian bets. Yeah, Caesar Sportsbook and William Hill U.S., who I wonder if have the same ownership or something, because it kind of, it was like the exact same statement from both. So I assume it's the same sort of crossover there. Draft Kings even this morning. I don't know if they did it.

I can't know if the latest statement this is, but they said, we are aware of the situation and we'll let you know if our team has further updates. So, draft king is in there too. Again, I don't know if they've, they've offering refunds yet, but this is publicly being acknowledged by the biggest, some of the biggest betting sites and sports books in the world, which is crazy. It is just crazy.

Mike, I always say like, you know, I believe there are fixed fights, of course, in boxing and in May, and any sports. It would be very foolish to say there are no fixed fights in this business. I think that'd be crazy. And normally I have a rule where I say, oh, because, I usually roll my ass and go like, oh, look, you know, people slow down the footage. You can see where this guy all moved his head in this way, and that was a cue for the other guy to do this, blah, blah, blah. I always tell people, if you can see, if you think you can see that a fight is fixed, then it's probably wasn't fixed.

It's the fights that you have no idea that look perfectly clean that I think of the fixed. However, on Saturday, my goodness, like, I mean, this should be, this should, like, I should be, like, I should be stepping up here and saying, oh, this exactly proves my rule that I don't think this was fixed. It's like it's only, the commentary is making it look worse than it is. But as I was watching it, I'm like, and this happened a couple times, a few times in the car from being honest. Guys doing the pro wrestling raising the hand instead of fighting the hand, like, you know, they're going to tap, like the, ah, it's so much pain, ah, tap. You and I, Mike, you and I are both pro wrestling fans. We've seen this hundreds of times with wrestle and wrestling. That's not what a real fight looks like.

Someone doesn't do that in a real fight. They don't, like, raise their hand for drama. They're fighting to the very end trying to usually. No. In a real fight, a referee comes over and tries to drop the hand three times. And then the fighter gets his hand up and he hulks up and gets out of it. You're joking. We are like one more weird apex card away from that happening.

Like, I picked Bulgarian, but it's not like he was only going to lose this fight of Bulgarian or whatever was, you know, less than 100% something fishy was going on.

Like, he could have, fair and square could have won this fight. Del Valle is really good. I hope he can move on from this. And he's not just known as, oh, that guy who beat, you know, the Bulgarian on that weird night. Because I think there's big things ahead for Del Valle. I like him a lot. And I was like, oh, this is going to be great. He's going to say something very classy and not notable at all that we're going to be talking about on shows throughout the weekend. I'll tell you what, this is his best one. Like he still was the Chuck Buffalo. I'm going to swear on ESPN.

But it seems like he got humbled up a little bit, AK. Seems like he went to Canada. He talks some trash, got his ass beat by Mike Malott. and then was like, hey, man, I got to go back to the drawing board and get this done. Like, I could still have that sort of explosive personality, but I don't have to say, like, heinous shit all the time. So I thought this is a very good night for Chuck Buffalo. Where are we going? Are we going back to Canada with him?

Is there another Canadian welterweight out there that we could throw him in there with? Oh, I don't know. You tell you you've got a better idea than I do. I just went, looked at my rankings found. So I looked at the next 10 or 12 names and I was like, this person's, you know, I'm a, losing streak took them out this person's book took them out and i ended up with like uh i think i'd actually gone backwards a little bit um i want to just want to see him fight andreas gustavson oh yeah that's a fun fight that's a fun fight yeah because i don't know i don't know what

they have with ratkey like i don't think he's even like a top 30 guy no offense to ratkey it's a very deep division i'm just saying like i think he's an entertaining fighter he's certainly got a personality love him or mehate him one of those things um he brought the heat up to canad i'll give him that you know uh you can say oh i well i don't like some of things who were saying or i don't like his political, blah, blah, but he made people care about that Mike Belot fight a lot. And I like Mike Malat, but much of the promotion of that fight was done by Charles Radke. 100%. 80%.

I mean, you know, Mike Malat just had to show up, had to show up and win, you know, and he did his job too. Shout out to Mike. But yeah, Radke, I think it's just going to be a fun guy, fun fighter. I thought he could win my first round, K.O., but you're right, Mike, mix the martial arts. And, yeah, maybe this is a guy that can just keep throwing in there and tough matchups and, you know, be a good, a strong, a strong backbone for cards, you know. Yeah, imagine K.S. Williams.

Why not? Great. Yeah, it's, that was probably my biggest dart throw of this, of all of these was that one. So yeah, Kass Williams, third on an apex co-main event or something. Totally fine with that. Al-a-Nasemento, AK. You know, when this guy fights, it's really fun to watch him. He just doesn't.

But he went out there and took care of business and just kind of beat the hell out of Cody Dirden and finished him. And it was just a great performance. And you know what, AK, I'm just going to get this out of the way. Normally we frowned upon people who do the matchmaking for us, but he absolutely nailed it. I gave him a B plus on the mic check called out Vinnie Sig, Steve Urseg. Spectacular callout. Like, I just nailed it. I have no notes.

Vinny Sigs it is. Let's do it. If they do that, Cindy card in February, that's a perfect fight for that card. So yes, well done. You get what you want. Yeah, that's it. I don't think we get a friend's forever for this, right? I think there's kind of following Alan's lead here.

It's also, in a way, I think a follow-up to one of my picks a while ago. After Erseg won his last fight, I think it was Ersig, he won. I wanted him to turn around and fight Nassimento in like Rio. I wanted to be Alan Nessimento like a Rio thing. So now we go the other way. Now we can instead possibly go to Ersakes' home space and still get that matchup. I think they have to fight. I think it's a really fun matchup.

And Nassimto, man, creeping up the rankings. I don't know if he has a number next to his name in the UFC's rankings, but I think Durden did. Durden was, no, he did not. Okay, okay, okay. So I don't think he'll be in the rankings yet, but Nassamato's climbing up there. Four and one now in the UFC, looking good.

He's a fight finisher. He's got some, he's got a great grappler. He's got A plus skill, which we always like to see. So yeah, I like Nassimental quite a bit. So Lucy Morgan. Yeah, I mean, I don't think he could have got this call. I mean, it was just a well-done call-out,

but even if he called like Tim Elliott would have been a fine call-out. They called the Charles Johnson. would have liked that. Bruno Silva would have been good. Like, all of them would have been good. But Erseg is right outside the top 10. Faf of the belt. Well done.

Now, I had a hard time picking a wild card, AK. I was like, how do I do this with like what is actually available to us? But we're going to, we tried. We did our best. Wild card selection will select one fighter we have not match made for. And we'll do it right now. So who did you go with for the wild card, AK? I think you could guess.

I didn't go women's band to wait, but I had to go with someone who I realized, I realized Mike, like, I don't know when I'm going to get to matchmaking for this person again. Because I think you can figure out wrong going. Like, frankly, I never, I did not think this person would be in the UFC at the end of 2025. But Alice Ardillianne is on a two-fight win streak, Mike. And no BS. She does look better than when, than her first fight. And I don't think like the competition is, well, okay, you could. you could say her competition is slightly dropped down from like shana bannon and melissa martinez i guess

but not that much like this is all these are all within the range of sort of obviously the lower tier of the strawweight division so i think she does look better i think this is someone who like now that she's gotten her uc opportunity she has benefited from whatever resources that that has brought and she has improved she won a very clear-cut decision against uh masserac kanejo yeah i know Canejo hasn't fought in a long time. She's on the losing streak, so, you know, we'll be... I'm not saying Ardellianne's, like, fighting for a ranking anytime soon. I'm just saying, good for her.

Winning fights in the UFC's hard. She's won two them in a row. Like, that's a huge achievement. So we're going to throw in there, it's a weird one. We're going to throw in there with the doctor, Xi Ming. Mike, she Ming. Do you know, like, she Ming had a fight, like, on a road to UFC card? Did you see that with, like, Bruna Brazil?

Yeah. This is a very, it just happened in August. This is a very weird situation. Like it was a main event fight. Yes. And typically road to UFC events like the tournament bouts, even the finals, I'm not sure what the official word is, but I think the UFC says these are not official UFC fights, unlike the ultimate fighter finale, which is an official UFC.

I don't know, maybe it depends who you ask. But so that card was full of, you know, not official UFC fights except for the main event. I, like I always feel like that's almost never happened where you would have a, quote, unquote, a UFC cataloged fight on a card that is not a UFC event. Very strange. I remember once we had Ed Herman. fight in Strike Force during his while he was under UFC contract. But it was like a strike force fight.

It was just like UFC said, yeah, you can use Ed Herman. It wasn't like they put it. This is after UFC had acquired strike force. It wasn't like UFC said, oh, this is a UFC fight on a strike force card. I can't remember Ed Herman fought. So there's been weird moments like this. But yeah, I guess when you're the UFC and you have all these properties, you have all these kind of programs and channels, you can kind of do stuff like this.

Anyway, that's my little she-ming rant. And I just want to see her back and get her first official UFC win. I think her first, again, I said her first win, don't know if it counts. And I don't know, maybe her and Ardilean, she either beats Ardilean. Yeah, that counts. Or Mike help us, 2026, we could see Alice Adelian on a three-fight win streak. Oh, wow. Imagine that.

Yeah, you remember, yeah, remember when Darren Stewart was supposed to fight Marvin Vittori at an event? This is, like, this is like right when COVID was like doing COVID things. Numbers. And he fought Bartos Fabinski and lost a decision. And that was a UFC fight.

Like that was, they counted that as a UFC fight on a, because they're both UFC fighters, right? They were at the time. But they were just like, they're just like, oh, we'll just do it here. And they just did it there. And then his next, Stewart's like next six fights are in the UFC. Wow. And then went back to Cage Warriors after. the UFC released him.

So like, probably forgot about that. That was weird situation. Yeah. Weird situation. I went with, I went with Dante Johnson. I was just like,

okay, sure, we'll go with him. And again, he's another like middleweight with, I'm going to say superstar potential. Like, he ain't no Atte,

but Goti, very few are. But there's something to him. He gets a bunch of finishes and he went out there and just kind of smushed Cedrique Dumae do Moss yesterday. And I think the UFC's going to try to do something with him, especially because he's a contender series guy and nothing makes Dana White happy than promoting his contender series guys and shoving it to the media saying,

hey, even though you make 10 and 10 coming out of that show, look what you could become. Damn it. So, Tristan Vines, come on down. And you're going to fight Dante Johnson. He's going to go in there and obliterate you in 75 seconds. And you'll probably go back and learn a new hold in a different organization after that. But yeah, Dante Johnson versus Trusted Vines. I wanted to go with Norma Dumont versus Giuliana Pena. But I feel like there's like zero chance I will get up. I think it's like zero chance that fight ever happens.

So I think I might have a shot at a point with this one. Mike, I'm glad you mentioned a Tiba, of course, in the Dante, picked there. I don't know if we're going to enter a new age of middle-boating middleweights. Like I know people don't want to lump goatee in there and Dante Johnson's guys. Like they're very exciting. They're very exciting. But I have a feeling once we start matching them up with each other at some point down the road.
