MMA Fighting - On To the Next One: Matches To Make After UFC Vegas 122

Episode Date: October 11, 2026

Another UFC Fight Night card is in the books, and in the main event, Brendan Allen earned a win he absolutely had to have to remain in the middleweight title discussion, submitting Christian Leroy Dun...can in the fifth round. Following the win for "All-In," he called for a matchup with former champion Dricus du Plessis. Where does the 30-year-old Allen go after his fourth straight victory? On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck discusses what's next for Allen after stopping Duncan in Saturday's headliner. Additionally, future matchups are discussed for Jai Herbert following his decision win over Matheus Camilo in the penultimate bout, Loopy Godinez after her controversial win over Ketlen Souza, Andre Fili following his brutal knockout of Kai Kamaka III, along with fellow main card winner Otari Tanzilovi, and more. Plus, your matchmaking suggestions during the second half of the program. Combat sports, like all sports, but combat sports fan especially, you guys are going to have your voices heard like never before within SB Nation. MMA boxing, not me, but you pro wrestling, Mike.
Starting point is 00:01:29 it's it is a community-based app it's all about community with the USB nation app it's so easy to use and it can keep obviously combat sports fans connected to their favorite teams and all of sports too across the board so I can keep up with the Red Sox the Celtics the Patriots and the Bruins all on my phone and it's so simple to use yeah like you you mentioned those teams but uh there's so much more because I don't care about Boston sports Mike but I get to follow the NFL all the other sport with F1, the various sports that I care about outside of combat sports. And then there's the live experience because that's, to me, that's one of the coolest things. You can chat with us during fight cards every Saturday.
Starting point is 00:02:09 And you can chat with other people in the communities as big events are happening. So it's, it's a really good time. So ladies and gentlemen, come fight with us over on the all new SB Nation app. Download it today. Download it right now. What are you waiting for? Download it. Well, hello there, everybody.
Starting point is 00:02:42 And welcome. To a brand new edition of On to the next one. The matchmaking crowns are back following UFC Vegas 122, which went down on Saturday night at the world's most famous meta apex and in the main event. Brendan Allen hangs on to his spot, stays in title contention for now with a fifth round submission win over Christian Leroy Duncan. If I was a little bit closer than I thought it was going to be, I think Brennan made some mistakes. Blah Mohamed did post he had some staff infection, yet it was missed and he was able to actually go in there and fight.
Starting point is 00:03:25 I don't know how I feel about that, but either way, Brennan goes out there and wins and boy, did he need it. And Christian Leroy Duncan showed me some things. Unfortunately, he's just not going to fight for a belt or anything like that. That was kind of what was at stake here. Which guy will be able to sort of survive in advance and which guy will sort of fall down the rungs of the ladder, so to speak. And Brennan Allen is the guy that remains in place. CLD has a lot of work to do.
Starting point is 00:03:58 I mean a lot of work to do if you want to get back into this discussion. But thanks for joining us. I am Mike Heck. Hope you're all having a great weekend. For a lot of us, it is a long weekend, a three-day weekend. a three-day weekend. So hope if that's you, you get to enjoy it. And if it's not, hope you get to enjoy the show nonetheless,
Starting point is 00:04:17 enjoy a pleasant Sunday. But let's get into the matchmaking. By the way, no AK this week. All good. Everything is fine. Alexander Cayley will be back next week following the UFC's return to Canada. More on that in a little bit. But let's get right into the matchmaking.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Your suggestions come up later on in the program. And before we get into the matchmaking, just a reminder, make sure you download the all-new SB Nation app. It's a great app for a great website. Just a lot of interaction during these live events. The live event watching experience has changed forever, thanks to the all-new SB Nation app. Download it for free. Hang out with us during fight nights. I think there was like 700 thread comments last night during that card, which was not an all-timer.
Starting point is 00:05:06 That's for sure. obviously not the worst watch you've ever seen, but not at all timer. And you guys are with us the entire way and we appreciate you for that. And you can join the fun for UFC Edmonton. I think they're at Edmonton. Is that where this card is or is it Vancouver? It is Edmonton. All right.
Starting point is 00:05:27 That was right. So enjoy UFC Edmonton with us by downloading the all new SB Nation app. So let's get into the matchmaking. Let's start with Brennan Allen. Goes out, gets the job done, gets the win, gets the finish, stays in his spot in the top five. Hopefully, he doesn't have to fight backwards again. The dogs are very excited about where Brennan Allen's going to go. You hear Shiloh and Little Bailey, who's not really little anymore.
Starting point is 00:05:56 He's a tank. He's a monster. And he thinks, Bailey thinks Brennan Allen should fight drink his two plus C next. I think that fight makes a lot of sense. I don't love the way Brennan called him out. I just keep it simple, man. Just keep it simple. Although he could have been unique with the three-letter call-out like
Starting point is 00:06:15 Jen Mishu suggested. I love that idea. RDR, CLD, DDP, let's run the Gambit. Let's run the trifecta. But yeah, good win for Brennan Allen. It's time he gets these opportunities. Like, give him a shot, man. Give him a shot.
Starting point is 00:06:31 I know come December when the Joe Pife for Bo-Nichael fight comes to an end, he might be in some trouble, but he should get the DDP fight. I honestly just don't know what else it needs to do to get in this situation, but I will say this, as much as he wants the DDP fight,
Starting point is 00:06:54 and I know he mentioned that he got a bit, he got a bit of a sponsor after our conversation, which I thought was really cool to hear last night. It would be, it would be smart of Brennan Allen to be ready and kind of get himself into a quasi mini fight camp because if something happens
Starting point is 00:07:14 with the Bo Nickel Joe Piper fight, Brennan Allen should be the first dude on the phone with the UFC saying, give me that fight. Whether it's with Joe or with Bo, that's, he should absolutely jump on that opportunity. So,
Starting point is 00:07:30 close Montstock if Ed, when that phone rings, you have to answer. And I would keep his eye on that fight for sure. sure, but Goodwin stays in a position where he's in the title conversation. And that's really all you can ask for right now in a division that's super complicated, like 185 pounds. We go to the co-made event. Jai Herbert gets the victory over Mateus Camillo. And this is one of those fights where I think Mattis is going to go back and watch with Eric Nixick and the rest of the team at Extreme
Starting point is 00:08:02 Couture and be like, dude, you just, you gave this one away. Like, you gave it to him. there were so many ways you could have won this fight and then you just, A, did nothing. B, stop doing the stuff that was working and C, just like let him hit you a whole bunch. It was really frustrating to watch as a guy who was kind of high on Camillo. Not so much anymore, even though he's, you know, he's got room to grow. But yeah, that's, that was a tough one to let get away. But shout out to Jai Herbert. Grizzled veteran-like performance.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Didn't let it get away from him. comes back and gets the win. Again, like, I just, I don't know what to do in these situations. This is, I mean, it's just a pure dart throw because, like, Camille wins. Like, we could start, we could start talking about some different things,
Starting point is 00:08:54 like a guy that we could sort of build upon. Can't really do that with Jai because, like, we've tried different things with him and it didn't really work out. Like, it's nice to see him in there getting wins, but that was runner. I mean, that's, that's honestly. the highest I would go with him. Let's just see what he can do.
Starting point is 00:09:13 If you can go out there and beat Elvis Brenner, who's coming off of a nasty knockout win, or a nasty finish win. Yeah, that's a pretty good win. So, yeah, let's go ahead and do that. We go to the women's strawweight division. Lupi Godinez should be thanking her lucky stars this morning that she walked out of the apex of the win,
Starting point is 00:09:37 because I don't think she won that fight. against Ketland Sosa. I thought she won the third round. I thought she showed a lot. She's tougher than a $2 steak. And, but she did not win that fight last night. She didn't win. It was pretty clear she lost.
Starting point is 00:09:56 I know the first round was kind of swingy, but again, if we're, if we're living in a world where damage is the top piece of criteria when deciding who wins or loses a round, Keltin Sousa was the more damaging fighter in the first two rounds. she clearly won the second round. I thought she won the first round. It was kind of undeniable in my eyes, despite loopie having a little bit of success in landing some volume.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Again, that was a great example in my eyes of at least from a women's fight between volume and damage and how you score one over the other. It was very, I mean, it wasn't Rob Fon, Josealdo, Rob Fought Chito Vera where Fott was just landing 60 strikes a round but was getting knocked down every round.
Starting point is 00:10:42 So it wasn't like that, but I had Sosa was clearly landing the more damaging shots. So, yeah, I hope she played some pinball last night. Hope she played the dumpling slot machine or some blackjack or some Baccarat in Las Vegas because parlayed that luck as far as I'm concerned. So I don't think she gained a whole lot from this win because I don't think she won and I don't think a lot of people thought she won. But credit to her for being so tough and so game, Jacqueline Amarim is where I'm going here.
Starting point is 00:11:13 I don't believe she is booked right now. So, yeah, I think it's a fine fight. It's a ranked fighter, at least in the meta rankings in the UFC. So, yeah, they've given Lupy a lot of opportunities. She's just going to kind of have to bend off some of the up-and-comers right now. And Amarim is a really interesting test for her, especially with the ground game and things of that nature. So, yeah. Let's go to Andre Feeley, the ageless one.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Under, Andre Touchy-Feeley, needed to win here, took on another veteran at 145 pounds and Kai Kamaka the third. Fun first round, very competitive, kind of the fight we all expected. We were wondering why this wasn't the co-made event over what actually was the co-made event. And then Andre Feely just just Kai Kamaka the third with a nasty headkick. He's about to land the truth, finish him punch, but then held back and didn't do it because Kai Kamaka was already unconscious and shout out to Andre Vili for doing that and having the wherewithal to kind of hold back.
Starting point is 00:12:18 What a performance. The guy just keeps every time he keep cotton amount, he finds ways to win. So I love the matchmaking here with the Kai Kamakas of the world. I don't think we need to go crazy. We don't need to feed him anybody. Here's what I would like to see because Andre Fili has been so giving of his time to the UFC, he's got the longevity, and he's done some favors and been part of some big moments. Like, that was a true, I don't think it's going to be in the top five at the end of the
Starting point is 00:12:49 year, but that is, if we were like counting down like the top 15 knockouts of 2026, like that one's probably on there. That was just nasty stuff from Andre Feely. So let's give Andre Feely the chance to avenge an old loss from UFC 214. I believe this gentleman has just one fight left on his UFC contract. I would assume he has one fight left in his career. And let's give Andre Feeley a chance to avenge an old loss. Like I said, Andre Feeley versus Calvin Cater 2. And I like the fight for Calvin as well.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Like, I mean, I don't want to, we're watching Calvin just get beat up by these young up and comers and kind of over that at this point. So if Cal has only got one fight left in his deal, you don't really gain a lot by beating him. at this point to try to get a ranking spot. I don't think he's even ranked anymore. Let's just have two grizzled vets,
Starting point is 00:13:47 two wily veterans get in there who are super fun and have been throughout their careers and just chuck them. Like they did at UFC 214. I believe that was Cater's debut. Took the fight on relatively short notice, went in there and pulled off the upset of Andre Field. Let's give Andre a chance to get that one back.
Starting point is 00:14:03 So that's what I would do. Why not? Let's have a little bit of fun with those guys. final main card matchup we had in a lot of people's minds a pretty significant upset at least from the betting odds it was otari tanzaloni took on malcolm wellmaker and a lot of people thought the ufc was just kind of handing wellmaker a name a guy he could beat and maybe style on to get back on track and malcolm wellmaker to me is the perfect example of, and I said this,
Starting point is 00:14:39 even after the Mutinio win, you just, you gotta relax sometimes when it comes to these prospects and how high we're supposed to raise the ceilings on these fighters. Because Malcolm is fun. He's going to go out there and give you a fight.
Starting point is 00:14:58 If he gets a win, he'll get his opponent real good. He gets got real good as we found out. He's just a fun guy. I comped him to the Bannamite Terrence McKinney. That was my always comp on him. So, guy's not going to be ranked or anything like that, but he's going to be super valuable to the division,
Starting point is 00:15:18 super valuable to the promotion. He's never going to be in a crappy fight ever. He's a guy that is just, it's automatic. Automatic, you're going to get at least one hellish round out of this guy and Bannonway Terrence McKinney and he goes out and loses gets stopped by Otari Tanzoloni
Starting point is 00:15:39 after hurting him a couple times in the first round and that fight was awesome that was a really really fun fight and we were getting into Slog City and I know I know there are a lot of finishes and I know there's a small percentage of the fan base out there that's like this is what I want to see I just want to see finish after finish
Starting point is 00:15:57 after finish after finish I want to see the minus 800 favorite beat the dude who shouldn't be in the UFC or I want to watch the two guys who shouldn't be in the UFC fight. Like, we got to that fight and I was like, all right, competitive matchmaking is also fun.
Starting point is 00:16:14 And that's what we got with this fight. But Tanzolone goes out and gets the win. I don't know how to grade it. So I'm going Cody Haddon next. Cody's coming off a win in May. There was, at one point in time, a fight booked between Malcolm Wellmaker and Cody Haddon for MSG
Starting point is 00:16:32 last year before Cody got hurt and then we, without Cody getting hurt, we would not be introduced to the greatness that is Ethan Ewing. And then Malcolm lost to him
Starting point is 00:16:43 and then the Juan Diaz fight. Now this one. So that's three straight losses for Malcolm. I don't think they're going to cut him. I think you have to give him at least one more because again, he's just,
Starting point is 00:16:52 he's never in a bad fight. It's never in a bad fight. This, like, of the three losses, this is probably the worst in terms of ranking in such, an accomplishment of guys he's competed against, skill set, all that, even though Tanzoloni is a friggin dog, man. That guy is a dog.
Starting point is 00:17:11 This is the worst of the three, but Ethan Ewing, that loss is going to age incredibly well. The Juan Diaz one, I think, is going to age incredibly well. This one, this one might age well. Who knows? Who knows? But, yeah, Tanzolode he hadn't seems like a lot of fun. Let's go to the wild card round.
Starting point is 00:17:30 we'll select one fighter of not match made for yet. We'll match made for them right now. And I'm going with Elisei Pereira. Going out there, getting the win and calling out the media. She's the savior of the women's band and weight division. She just might be. Who knows at this point? She's 20 years old.
Starting point is 00:17:49 She's vicious out there. I was a little surprised by the game plan against Daria. She no moster. Like that's a true no mossing. People say that Iliate Teporia no masts. Ily Tupori did not nomos Alexander Tupori his brother was like now he's not fighting anymore
Starting point is 00:18:05 that's a no mas this was a true no mas Darya was cut open bad from those elbows that forehead looked nasty that gash was deep and she was just like yeah I'm not going to win this one
Starting point is 00:18:22 this is not going to happen and Lisa Pereira gets it done she's got two wins in a row not over the greatest of competition but because there's no women's Banimates. She is now going to be a ranked fighter with her wins going against Darya and Haley Cowen. So kind of weird. But here we are. And she's tough to match up for because I think she's
Starting point is 00:18:48 not wrong what she says, I'm kind of here. I'm here to finish fights. Like I'm an exciting fighter in this division. I think the UFC is going to push her. I think they're going to try to to make something out of her. I think they're going to try to push her towards title contention. And they have a few fighters in this division that they can do that with. I think Nina Milosevic is very fun. But, I mean, we got Kayla and Amanda getting ready to fight, and there's just not much after that.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Like, Jocelyn Edwards has looked incredibly good, and not all that people are super excited to see her fight for a belt. Eileen Perez was just on like in a super boring fight that a lot of people thought she lost. So not a lot of excitement for her. But Pereira is out there finishing fights. Now the more should we go up the ranks with her is she still going to go out there and finish fights. I am not so sure. So let's give her a tough test against a name that is not super overwhelming with the fan base.
Starting point is 00:19:52 Nora Cornell coming off of a win in her last fight. Against Claudia Segula, let's go do that. I think that's a fine fight. It's a good test for her. It's a fight that Pereira can win. And if she loses, then we're just like, all right, let's let's sew it out a little bit. Let's pump the brakes and let her keep building highlight reels.
Starting point is 00:20:14 Like squash matches are useful in certain situations. I don't need a card full of them because that's what we've been getting lately. The main car is a little bit more competitive last night. Thank goodness, unlike UFC 332, which is like all squash matches. outside of the main event. So, yeah, let's see what she can do. I wouldn't go any higher than that. But, you know, she can keep flying on the tracks, so to speak,
Starting point is 00:20:43 and B.M. Skieta can keep flying on the tracks. And Nina, Michelle Monique, et cetera, like, these are, these are fighters that can give you something. So will they be the saviors of the division? I don't know, because there's just not enough fighters in that division. But good win for Eliseo Pira. All right, let's take a short timeout. When we come back, your matchmaking suggestions. Got a bunch of them.
Starting point is 00:21:08 And we'll read those out. Coming up next on, on to the next one. Visit BetMGM Casino and check out the newest exclusive. The Price is Right Fortune Pick. BetMDM and GameSense remind you to play responsibly. 19 plus to wager. Ontario only. Please play responsibly.

Starting point is 00:22:20 Time to go to your suggestions. And for podcast episodes, the audio-only ones, the non-after-numbered events editions of the program, you can submit your submissions to Alexander Kay Lee to all of his different places. Mine, you can just shoot over on Instagram, M underscore HeckJR for you if we did that.
Starting point is 00:22:40 A lot of you sent to AK. He forwarded them over to me, at least by the time we're recording right around 10 a.m. Eastern. So let's go. Let's go to the peeps. And we will begin with Kyle Thornton. Thank you, Kyle.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Brennan Allen versus Jedd's cousin, Drickus, Duplice. Jai Herbert versus Dakar Close. Lupi versus Carol Foro, Feeley versus Myron Santos Tanzilobi versus Ricci Lang Julius Walker versus Ewan Kuchelaba
Starting point is 00:23:05 Hmm What I do Julius versus E1? Yeah, maybe, why not? I don't think that fight would go very well for Julius Walker, but I also thought he was going to lose to Daryl Mears chart, but oh, 10 seconds into that fight
Starting point is 00:23:22 I knew that wouldn't be the case. By the way, happy trails 2, GM3, just one of my favorite people in the industry. What a personality. 60 pro fights. I mean, holy crap. Unbelievable stuff. So happy trails to him.
Starting point is 00:23:36 John Ray, Pereira versus Seguula, Fry Jr. versus Freeman, Ribeiro versus Walker. Tanzalovi versus Lacerda, Fili versus Wood, Godinians versus John Johnan, Herbert versus Close. Again, a lot of Herbert versus Closes.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Okay. CLD versus Coppiloff. I really like that fight. That's probably what I would do for CLD, since he's out of the title conversation now, unfortunately. And it's not his fault. He's just in the wrong division. If he was that light heavyweight, he wouldn't be out of it.
Starting point is 00:24:08 But a middleweight, it's going to take him like three years to get back to that. Allen versus Robocop, Greg, which, I mean, now we have to, we have to figure out who is who in that situation. Bonus pick from last week, RDA versus Chandler, winner gets the Connor fight. Ooh, I like that. That's interesting. That's actually really interesting. Okay. I like some stakes.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Left lane. Allen versus Robocop. Oh, boy. No, you can't do that. No. No, no, no, no, no. There is an explanation. Think what Strickland up in the air.
Starting point is 00:24:45 They keep DDP on ice for a potential vacant. No, they're going to put Homsat in that fight. Not going to put DDP in that fight. Crazy. They'll do Homsat versus Nasserdin if there's a vacant title fight. It's not going to be DDP. It's not going to be DDP.
Starting point is 00:25:07 They'll put Homs out in there. So I don't love this pick, Leflay. I love you. I just don't love this pick. I mean, CLD versus Fluffy, I like that. I mean, Robocop's just like, he needs more wins, man.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Before we could start talking about the Brennan Allen. It's like, what else is Brennan Allen have to do? If he has to go back, plus I believe they're, they're teammates now as well. So I don't know if they would even fight each other at this point. So, yeah, I don't know. Not, not my first choice.
Starting point is 00:25:37 That's for sure. Herbert versus, I believe, Michael Johnson. I'm fine with that. Godineas versus Johnon, Feeley versus McMillan. Dang. Huh. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:25:53 I like that fight. Yeah, I mean, if we're, if we're gonna, if we're gonna keep playing this game with Tommy McMillan and Andre Feeley, then yeah, I like that idea. Yeah, Phile's a good one.
Starting point is 00:26:11 I might even pick that one after McMillan's last fight. Oh, no, I wasn't on that show, but Phileas it was somebody I was thinking about. Okay, that's interesting. Tanz Louis versus Nakamura, Walker versus Ewo. Ooh, that's going to go real bad for Walker. So I like it.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Prado versus Jones would be lunacy. I'm still kind of stuck on Walker versus Ewo. Yeah, I think Ewo wins that fight. But who knows? Maybe Walker's figured something out at X-D. I don't know. Ribera versus C. Louis, fry versus Wint.
Starting point is 00:26:46 at least he could say he's fought someone with previous UFC fights, two fights against regional randoms and is ranked in the meta rankings, by the way. Oh, is he really? Come on. We're ranking Anthony Wintz after beating two guys who are not UFC caliber in any way, shape, or form? That's bananas. Forever Segula, Shabazzian versus Mickey Gall for what he believes, conclusively, the title of the worst fighter on the roster. That's just mean.
Starting point is 00:27:17 although Leon Chabazzan should not be in the UFC. I truly believe he's one of the worst sightings ever in the UFC. He had no, he, he was favored against Nico Price yesterday. He had no chance. There's no way he's fighting in the UFC again. There's no way. He was super valuable in this situation. They probably would have cut him if Nico didn't want a retirement fight.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Hey, come on. Come on. There's such a, there's such a definition for what, like, UFC caliber is this day. It's pretty bananas. All right. Let's continue on. Four Corner Sports. Allen versus Bluffy Hernandez, too.
Starting point is 00:28:04 What? Come on, Four Corner Sports. Not only is this awful matchmaking on your part. And I love you to death. This is the third fight between the two of these gentlemen. This would be the trilogy fight. And Fluffy has won Fluffy just won the last fight like a year ago.
Starting point is 00:28:26 So no. Anthony's coming off of a lot, coming up two losses in a row, and Brennan Allen on a four-fight win streak who's already fought backwards twice as to fight Fluffy for the third time. That's absolute insanity. Christian Leroyer Duncan versus Edmund Chibazzian. I'm okay with that.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Herbert Chase Hooper. I like that. Loopy versus Tynara. Let me think about that a little bit. Tyneur just beat Amanda Lemos, like, yeah, I mean, you could do that. I don't hate that one. I think Tyna Hour wins that fight, like, running away, though. More so because of who I think she is as a fighter.
Starting point is 00:29:23 Soza versus Hebas, Feely versus McMillian, another one of those. That is an interesting fight. Frod, Tanzlovi, Gianni Vasquez. Malcolm Wellmaker Simon Olivera, Julius Walker, Christian Edwards. Now that's the fight. That's the right one. Julius Walker, Christian Edwards is the fight. Excellent job.
Starting point is 00:29:43 Francisco Prado versus Richie Miranda. Alista Pereira versus Claudius de Guilu. Ben Hamilton is a Malcolm, excuse me, as a Malcolm Wallmaker and Oregon football fan. Today was as devastating as it gets, but we persevere. Ben wants Leon Shabazian versus Dumas. at whatever weight they choose, I want to see something. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Feeley versus Jamal Emmer's. I think, I don't hate that one. I think Emers deserves, like, I think Emers deserves a shot at like a ranked dude at this point. He's, he's been some really good guys. And I'm not saying,
Starting point is 00:30:21 like, Philly's not good, but I think you deserve someone higher up than Philee. But that's just me. If they make it, I'm certainly going to watch it. Tanzloy versus Cody Haddon. There we go. I'm with you there.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Happy Trails GM3, Juice Box versus Christian Edwards. This is the fight. This is absolutely the fight. Julius Walker versus Christian Edwards is 100% the fight. Nothing else makes sense to me. Unless you're just going to try to get like EO over or something. But even so, like, you will, you will might not get a first round finish and lose.
Starting point is 00:30:50 I don't know. Loopy versus John Johnon, Jai versus King Green. Ooh, that's interesting. Okay, I like that one. CLD versus Edmund, Allen DDP. Barry O'Reilly. Alisa Pereira versus Seguula That seems to be the popular choice
Starting point is 00:31:07 Alan Fry versus Jovan Lecca Some will go to sleep Ribeira versus C-Lew Prado versus Basin Jones Bangor, you're right, I like that fight Julius Walker versus Ming Yang Zhang Wow, here's the reasoning Zhang should be able to get back on track
Starting point is 00:31:21 here and beat Walker, but if not and Walker wins, might have something with a relatively young and inexperienced fighter All right. Otari versus Muhammad Ali Osmanli, UFC will sign Osmanli and to punish him, they should give him a decent looking prospect. Whenever this is a potential dark horse for a future ranking, at least.
Starting point is 00:31:41 I don't know if I would. Maybe. All right. Interesting. Andre Feely, Calvin Cater, too. You're with me on that one. I like it. If Cater hasn't retired, this would be a fun co-main on a meta-apex card
Starting point is 00:31:54 or a card opener on a road show. Lupi versus Tynara, reasoning Tynara not far off of a title shop. But she isn't next, so another tough test against a pretty pretty. dominantly predominant grappler would give us more answers about her potential yeah it's if they make it I'm fine with it jai herber versus mike davis fun scrappy tested on the feet sure cl d ld versus fluffy sure allan dd with the matchers made in the title shop more than likely being stricklen emovaop the fight just makes sense 100% thanks for all the great content looking forward to the podcast thank you kyle
Starting point is 00:32:30 oh no we did this one i already read you kyle i already read you J.B. CLD versus the Abus Maga Madoff, Cam Roustin winner. Jai Herbert, Mason Jones, Andre Fili, versus Josh Emmett, which I'm genuinely surprised hasn't ever happened for. I think they're teammates, which is why that hasn't happened. I'm pretty sure that's why it hasn't happened. Let me just like, let me see if they will, uh, let me see if I can confirm this for sure, but I'm like, I'm, I would put money that on the fact that they're teammates. Yeah, they're both, They're both alpha male guys.
Starting point is 00:33:21 They're both alpha male guys. I know Josh has spent some time with Dillishal and stuff, but he's, he's, he's an alpha male guy. So that fights is just, unless they're like fighting for a belt or something or they just want to go in there and have some fun, like a double retirement fight or something. Like, yeah, I don't, I don't know if that fight happens. Another Walker, Zhang Mingyang, Frank Jr. Anthony Wint, Pereira versus Michelle Monagyu. I think that's like a super duper too high of a step. for Pereira, but I mean, those are
Starting point is 00:33:53 those are two hostas in the division. I believe Moniqueu is, is Moniqueu booked? No, I guess not. I thought she might have been. That'd be interesting. Last thing I want to ask about is where could Malcolm Wellmaker possibly go after this?
Starting point is 00:34:11 He's the only person I had trouble matchmaking with and I kind of wanted to see what you think he could do next and if you could rebound from the skid he's on. As always, thanks for all you guys do. Have a good night. Again, I don't think there's a, real wrong answer here. I would go backwards in the ranking, certainly.
Starting point is 00:34:29 But I wouldn't cut him. Again, like a lot of people are like, yeah, cut him. He's lost three in a row. Losing to Ewing and Diaz are super acceptable losses, especially if you were like me and kind of like tampered your expectations of the guy who, she just started off this game too late. He just started too late in his career. he's probably past his prime already somewhat,
Starting point is 00:34:58 athletically, but still like a super good athlete. But again, I comped him to Terrence McKinney. He's one of the better one-round fighters in that division. So, yeah, I don't know exactly who I would match him up with. Let me take a look. Who would I match him up with?
Starting point is 00:35:20 Let me pull up my personal rankings. Um, where do I have him? I have him at 67 right now at 135 pounds. And I might even push him back after this. But again, like, it's okay. Like him and vlog don't be fun. Could do like him and Vince Morales, Cody Gibson. Someone like that, I mean,
Starting point is 00:36:05 I would give him But dude, him in Vologda would be friggin crazy town. I love that idea. We could go do that. Just two super fun dudes fighting. Yeah, I like that. Let's go Vlogden.
Starting point is 00:36:20 I think we'd have a real good time. But yeah, he's a tough one. He's a tough one. But to quote Dennis Green, he kind of was what I thought he was. But again, there's a difference between, I was who he thought he was with, like, Leon Chabazzian,
Starting point is 00:36:40 and I was who he thought he was with Malcolm Wellmaker. Leon probably is not long for this world as a UFC fighter. There's no way you can have him fight again. But Malcolm, like, he could still fight another 10 times for them, even if he loses a whole bunch of them. Like, he's still not going to let you down. You know his fights are going to deliver. He's going to give you everything he's got.
Starting point is 00:37:06 So, there you go. Harry Alan DDP CLD Hernandez Herbert Lance Gibson Jr. Lupi Yan another one of those Fili versus Morgan Chariere Tanzilovi
Starting point is 00:37:19 Sir Hecadai Julius Walker Christian Edwards Yep I mean you guys nailed it with that one Prado versus Brenner Rivera Cuchelaba Frye Montagna Alice Pereira
Starting point is 00:37:32 Or Lisa Pereira versus Norricnol Matthew Allen DDP CLD versus Izzy I think it would be a fun stylistic fight. I think Izzy's got something cooking already. Actually, I'm pretty sure he has something cooking already.
Starting point is 00:37:44 So that won't be next for Izzy, I don't think. But could be something in the future. Herbert Rebetsky. Yeah, I like that one. Luby versus Fatima. Luby versus Fatima Klein? No, you can't do that. I mean, could you?
Starting point is 00:38:07 I guess. But like, I think. I don't know what they're doing with Fatima, honestly. Like in the meta rankings, Fatima is five spots above. I mean, I would do Fatima versus Tynara at this point. I mean, you could, well, feed Fatima Tatiana Suarez was like really the fight to make, but you could do Fatima versus like, you could just feed Julian Roberts into her. She just fought for the belt.
Starting point is 00:38:50 I mean, maybe you go that route with her, but I wouldn't do loopie versus Klein. I think Klein's just I think she's kind of just above that at this point Philly versus Larry and Douglas Otari versus the Kuomba Jordan winner Prado versus Jakar Close Walker versus Omar C
Starting point is 00:39:10 Let's go to Lucas I think he's the last one let me just check the IG real quick and make sure because I don't want to miss anybody Lucas Cortez Jai the second coming up PJ Penn Oh, thank you.
Starting point is 00:39:35 Appreciate that. That's wicked funny. I said that on the feed. I'm like, Bisming calling Jai Herbert the second coming up Prime BJ Penn is driving me crazy. Yeah, I don't need to go on another Bisbing rant here. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:39:47 thank you, Lucas. That was quite funny. Jai Herbert versus the Jim Miller, Terrence McKinney winner. It's amazing. He hasn't fought either guy. I think it's a rankings and skill.
Starting point is 00:39:56 appropriate matchup either way and age appropriate from Miller. With him and T-Rex, someone's going to sleep immediately. Yeah, I think that's fine. I think we're right in the wheelhouse there. CLD versus Edmund Chabazi and both guys recently lost to Bernard Allen, both like to strike. They're both in the bottom half of the meta rankings. CLD deserves a step down, but I think he has more potential. Let's see how it plays out.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Another Feely versus Tommy McMillan. I think it's a good step up from McMillan and a banger of a fight. Yeah, if they do that, that's interesting. I hope you're doing well, AK. Thank you and Mike for doing it. doing these shows. Have a great Sunday. P.S. to Mike, since I think you're reading them. I want to say, thank you, Mike. Wow, okay. You are the one that got me into podcasts. I never liked a single podcast until I heard heck of a morning. So thank you.
Starting point is 00:40:38 Thank you, Lucas. That was, that's very nice of you. I really, I really appreciate that. And I appreciate you and everybody else submitting your picks. We'll be back next week and we'll do it all over again. The UFC heads back to the Great White North to Canada. Hamilton, Alberta, Canada, to be exact, for another UFC fight night event, the go-home show for the highly anticipated UFC 333 event, the main event in the welterweight division. Canada's own Mike Malott takes on Joachim Buckley. Co-main event, big one. Big, big fight at 125 pounds, especially considering where this division is at right now. Aaron Blanchfield taking on Jasmine Jazz DeVizzias. We have Kyle Nelson taking on Christian Perez, Mark Andre Barrio, taking on Kyle Dachas, Lewis Jorday and taking on Timi Kawamba, Mandel Nalo versus Nate Landware,
Starting point is 00:41:37 Tanner Bozier versus Janada Denise, Julian LeBlank versus Nick Galante, Javad Majab versus Joel Faglier. The return of Caitlin Serminara. You may know her better as Caitlin Chukagian. She is returning to the Octagon for the first time in almost three years since losing to Macy Barber at UFC 299. She is back. She was supposed to fight Canada's own Jamie Lynn Horth. Now she is fighting McKenzie Stiller in her return fight.
Starting point is 00:42:17 McKenzie was on the ultimate fighter. she lost her lone ultimate fighter fight and get signed to the UFC. How about that? So that is the return fight for Caitlin Cermanara, FCAGIA, Caitlin Chukagian. Chattanooga versus Stephen Cosselo,
Starting point is 00:42:35 Melissa Croton versus Chelsea Chandler, and Sue Young-U versus Cody Chauvancheck will kick off the festivities. That is what the kids call the curtain-jurker for UFC program. Very interesting stretch coming up for the UFC. So like I said, we are on the road next week in Edmonton.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Then it's Abu Dhabi for UFC 33. Then a Halloween event at the world's most famous apex, headline by Moikano v. Nolan. And then guess we're at the week after that? You guessed it right back to the world's most famous meta-Apex for Bonfeme versus Brady. Then it's MSG for UFC 334. And then that guitar card, which is absolutely fantastic.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Possibly Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but rumor innuendo is that's moving from November 28. So I think we only have two last stops at the apex. And then on the road the rest of the way. But thank you all very much. I appreciate you so much, AK back next week after UFC Edmonton. Until then, everybody. Thanks for listening to another edition. On to the next one, the podcast.
