Everybody, and welcome to a brand new edition of On to the next one.
Yes, the matchmaking crowns return following just a memorable must go back and rewatch
every day of the week. UFC Louisville event at the KFC YUM Center in Derby City in Kentucky.
And huge wins for Nasredin Nemovov. Dominic Reyes is back in the win column. And 19-year-old
Raul Roses Jr. continues to impress. We will discuss the future of those fighters and much more
on the program. I am Mike Heck. And joining me this week, no, it is not my best friend, Alexander
K. Lee. It is my other best friend.
Mr. No Gray area, the hot tag kid, the Baron of Boop himself,
matchmaker extraordinaire.
Jed Michoud back on the program.
Jed, how are we doing on this Sunday morning?
I mean, what I appreciate is that you guys call me in for the big shows, you know.
You don't waste my time on the middling cards.
You guys know, all right, we got to pull in the closer.
We got to get 1990s era John Smolts in here, just wrapping things up.
for the biggest events of the year.
And that's what I'm happy to be here.
I'm happy to talk about where we go from U.S.
Louisville,
because there's so many places we could go.
I mean,
we call you in to be less John Smolz
and more John Rocker,
if that makes sense, Jed.
Oh, yeah.
I need more aggressive haircut than I have,
but yes.
Well, let's get into it.
Let's start in the pretty wild,
middleweight division right now because there's just so many unknowns at this point.
We don't even know what's going on with the champion, Drick's Duplacy.
We assume he's fighting Israel out of Sanya, but the fact that we are, what, two months away from that event
and that fight hasn't been announced is a little bit concerning.
John Strickland's coming up a big win.
And then in about 13 days as we record, Hamzaa Shamaif is going to fight Robert Whitaker
in the main event of UFC Saudi Arabia.
but in Louisville,
Naserdine Imov
took on Jared Kinnear.
Canaanir comes out looking real sharp
in the first round.
Most of the second round,
Imovov gets some momentum
at the end of round two.
Looks real good in round three.
Seems like both guys are starting to get tired.
And then Imovov clips Canaaner in round four.
Starts putting the wood to him.
Caternare is kind of running around,
trying not to get clipped.
And it seemed like Canaaner got his wits to him,
even landed a right hook.
Emuval off lanes a couple more shots.
Referee Jason Herzog steps in, stops the fight.
A little bit controversial.
Gone back and rewatched that round in its entirety.
It's bad.
It's not the worst.
It's not the best.
But we've seen far worse stoppages than that.
But either way, no matter what we have to say about it,
nationally imov gets the fourth round TKO win over Jared Kahneneer,
and nothing is going to change.
So, Jed, he called for Sean Strickland.
The whiteboarder in the post-fight show said,
Strickland in Paris, what could go wrong?
Are you going with Sean Strickland?
Are you going in a different direction?
No, and I suspect that I'm going in the direction you went,
though I don't think we'll be calling the band for this.
Heading into this fight,
I genuinely thought the winner of this had a realistic chance to get Sean Strickland.
Because, like, we talked about in the preview show,
I was like, well, I don't,
Sean Strickland might be able to sit and wait,
but if Hamzot wins, he's getting the title fight.
So is he going to wait for, like, a year?
that's not really Sean Strickland's MO anyway
and also with kind of the shifting ground of middleweight
I'm not sure he can wait for you
there are people making moves here in this division
and so I thought Sean Strickland might wait it out a couple of weeks
see if Hamzot wins and then if Hamzot wins
the winner of Canaaner versus Imbov
will get Strickland and no doubt about it
number one contender match and then that finish happened
and that the finish is what changed
it for me because while it is officially a win, it's a bad stoppage.
I think Imov was on his way to winning.
I know he was down on the judge's score cards, but he's certainly going to win that fourth
round, and Canaanir probably is not going to be in great shape for the fifth if Imov
doesn't get a finish.
So I think Imov was going to get the win, but because the manner he got it, you kind of
can't give him Sean Strickland right now unless there is nothing else.
out there and there is something else out there and it's what you pitch to me in the preview show
it's Brendan Allen he's out there he's waiting I don't really know what that fight will be for
frankly which is why I'm I'm a little bit against it or I certainly was just because like that's
not a number one contender bout it might be but it feels like that's a one that's the same as this
fight is it's a one away from being one away so uh I I went Brendan Allen because I do think that
that's where we're going to go with it.
Yeah, I mean, we don't even need to queue up the ban.
It seems like the obvious choice here.
I feel like people are forgetting about Brendan Allen,
which is not really a good thing because we forgot about Jared Kennedy
for the last year and even well before that.
So, yeah, I think it's Brendan Allen.
I don't think he gets much better than that.
Certainly not getting Sean Strickland.
On this program, I said,
Sean Strickland versus Robert Whitaker,
no matter what happens in Saudi Arabia,
even if Whitaker wins, that's a true number more contender fight.
it's almost impossible to book a number one contender fight right now without actually knowing what is happening and without knowing who wins the title fight because that all changes depending on who's the champion at the end of the at the end of August the end of the summertime so yeah I think it's EMVVos versus Allen that's the next next to makey main event
oh anywhere you could that's that's actually an anywhere made event because apparently this card has the highest grossing fight night card in u.s. history which is absolutely insane
That's fair, fair point.
I mean, it sounds like a great apex main event.
And it does fit because Brendan Allen, like, maybe beat Chris Curtis, but also, like, that was a controversial split decision.
So his win, his most recent effort is not great.
There's a little bit of controversy.
The Simov certainly is surrounded in some controversy.
So it just, all of it lines up.
It's too easy to make that fight, and that's why I pivoted to it.
Yep.
Let's go to Dominic Reyes.
So I misspoke on the post-fight show.
I said it was the first win for Dominic Reyes in 1,965 days.
I got a little mixed up there, 1,695 days.
So I mixed up the 9 and the 6.
Either way, it's still a lot of days,
just shy of 2,000 days between victories for the two-time light heavyweight title
challenge.
It goes in there.
Dusts off, Dustin Chikobi in the first round.
Fun fight for as long as it lasted.
And just the relief that came on.
off of Dustin, or Dominic Reyes after stopping Dustin Jacoby was just unbelievable.
You got to feel good for the man.
I think we're probably simpatico on this one too.
It's Anthony Smith.
There's just years of pent-up frustration between the two guys.
Both fought John Jones, both went to the cards of John Jones.
One guy won't beat John Jones.
The other guy didn't.
But it just seems that with how long they've been tenured in the UFC, how long they've been
tenured in this division, it's kind of crazy that these two guys have not been matched
up.
and I actually feel good about these two guys being matched up as opposed to
throwing either to the wolves, if that makes sense.
It does.
So I have a little, I have gone Anthony Smith as well.
I do have a little bit of trepidation about not throwing them to the wolves because
credit to Anthony Smith, he keeps winning in this garbage fire that is a white class,
like when his backs against the wall and it matters.
But both of these two dudes are not at their best.
anymore. I mean, Dominic Reyes is saying that this is the best ever been, 5.0. I mean, he won,
and I'm so happy that he won. I'm so happy for him. But Dustin Jacoby is not a world beater,
and so I'm really tempering my expectations based around what has previously happened with
Reyes. Anthony Smith is very clearly on, not even the back nine of his career. He's coming down
the final stretch. He is walking up 17 at this point. So I don't, I like where they're at.
and this being a matchup for that,
but I do fundamentally sort of dislike matchups like that
because we're getting two guys who are probably closer to the end
than the beginning.
They're not realistically in title hunt mode,
and they're going to continue clogging up a light heavyweight division
by fighting each other as opposed to giving young guys a shot.
The issue is not a lot of young guys to give shots to it 205 right now,
so it's totally fine to do this.
And the only other fight I could think of, even like that honestly made any sense at all,
was along the same lines.
It's just OSP.
But no one, we should not be booking OSP and fist fights because no one wants to see that in the year 2024.
So Anthony Smith, it is.
Yes, completely agree.
I don't know how Sympatico were going to be the rest of the way.
I felt like those two were pretty easy.
We move on to 19-year-old Raoul Roses Jr.
took on Ricky Terseos, a little bit of heat on that one.
Ricky Terseos with the abrupt start to the fight.
Roses was going for the glove touch.
Terseos literally said F you to him and then kicked him.
And it was a fun first round.
It got real scrappy.
Terseos had a chance to put Roses away.
And then I think we were both on the same page.
When we realized he didn't put him away, we kind of figured that was the end of the fight.
He had a chance.
And then he didn't.
Yep.
And then Roses just.
kind of ragged all them, strangled them in round two, gets the win.
Now, three in one in the UFC, two straight finishes after the lost to Christian Rodriguez.
Jed, what do we do with the 19-year-old super prospect?
I am very interested to see where you went because for me, this one was a little trickier
because I'm not trying, for the rest of these people, it's pretty straightforward.
Okay, I'm trying to advance you up the rankings in your weight class, or I'm trying to
make someone defend their position.
I don't care about doing that with Thrall Roses Jr.
Because it's my system of prospect development is get him rounds.
Get him rounds against good people, good fighters, let him develop.
And in a couple of years, if he keeps doing this, then sure, we can.
But like, Ricky Terseus is a perfect matchup.
A guy who can fight, can be scrappy, can't defend a take down to save his life,
but can still be realistic opposition.
And so you saw Terseos had moments there.
like, Ronald Roses Jr. had to work through something.
This was not a total demolition,
but at the same time, it was a measured opponent.
And so I kind of reverse engineered that to be like,
who do I want him to fight that sort of fits this bill of a guy who's been around
who maybe people even know who can be like a good opponent,
like a guy who will give him live rounds,
who isn't going to win this fight?
And I settled on Brian Keller, the issue.
Brian Keller is fighting Cody Gibson, which I did not realize when I, I tried to do my homework.
I didn't want to put any do-do out there.
And I found that he's fighting Cody Gibson.
And while I am not enthused about him fighting Cody Gibson, because that just is a less
meaningful fight to me, I am going to say the winner of Kellerher, Cody Gibson, under the
hope that Keller is the man who wins it.
Because, you know, Keller has at least a little bit of a shine to, like a little bit of a
name to him.
He's been around for a long time.
It's not like the greatest grappler in the world,
but we'll compete and we'll make Rollerosis work and grow and develop.
So that's where I'm going.
I thought about doing boom, didn't ultimately go there.
But like you said, this is kind of a tough one, man.
Like, how high do you go with him?
How big of a step up do you go with him?
And I don't, I don't know.
Like, I have the guy I picked ranked slightly higher than Brian Keller.
I think there's certainly much more upside with the name I'm saying than Brian
Kelleher.
But it's also not a guy that's really sniffing the top 15 right now.
It's a guy that got a lot of buzz last year, had one of the best submissions of the year
in 2023.
And that submission earned him a big opportunity to compete on a pay-per-view main card
like, what, a week later?
So I ultimately landed on Demand Blackshare.
I think the grappling will be fun as hell.
with those two guys.
And I think it's a fight that Roses can probably win,
especially if he do it in September at the sphere,
and they do the Mexican Independence Day theme.
I think the fans will erupt for him.
It'll be a very big deal.
And Daman Blackshare, I mean, his most recent loss is to Mario Batista,
who is a really good fighter,
but he stepped in on short notice and took that fight.
So I ended up going there.
I don't think there's really a wrong answer to this,
but I ended up going there.
That feels like maybe a step higher than I want to do.
because I think Demand Blasher can win that fight.
And, like, in my head, I don't want Raul Rousers Jr. to lose fights right now.
Like, they're clearly investing in him to be a star.
I honestly don't know how long he can be a star once he is no longer 19-year-old
Rerosos Jr. or whatever.
Like, that's doing a lot of heavy lifting for him.
But, like, DeMont Blachshir can win that.
That is certainly the more ambitious route of, okay, this is certainly winnable for Rall Roses Jr.,
but it is a clear step up,
Whereas Kelleher is a lateral move that I think you probably can't lose that fight.
And then I'll also admit, I woke up this morning.
Some news dropped overnight, Mike.
Kai Sakora, rising Banimweight champion coming to the UFC.
I briefly flirted with that.
I was like, wouldn't.
And then I was like, that's probably a bridge too far.
Kai probably deserves, frankly, a higher crack up than Rolrosis Jr.
but that was top of mind this morning with the news breaking.
So shout out to Risen.
Yeah.
I mean, Kai's probably going to get a ranked dude, like right out the gate.
He's super fun.
It would seem likely, though I am, I'll be honest,
and disappointed Kai's the Risen champion we get,
and not freaking KioG, but whatever.
Yeah. Kai versus Jose Aldo would be pretty fun.
Wouldn't hate it.
Wouldn't hate it.
But, yeah, there's like,
said, there's really no wrong answer to this question.
Just anybody that's not in the top 35
probably works for Roll Rosh's Jr.

See app for details. Let's go to
Bruno Ferreira.
Jed. Jesus, what a knockout.
It's not the knockout of the year.
It is definitely in contention right now.
Like if the year ended right now, it's probably in our top five.
Spinning back elbow, K.O., just nasty stuff.
It looked like he was in a little bit of trouble against Dustin Stoltzvus,
but he gets out of it.
Stoltzvus attacks him after Ferreira escapes a leg lock,
gets up to his feet, and then Ferreira just did Ferrer things,
had him on the ropes, thought the ref might stop in and stop it a few different times.
But he didn't, and I don't know who that ref was,
but because of that, we set us of,
stuff's up for it.
Unbelievable knockout.
Bruno Ferrear just continues to be incredibly fun.
So,
I don't know how you're going to feel about it.
That, by the way, was Jason Herzog.
Yeah, what a, what a, what a, what a day he had in Louisville, Kentucky.
I went with a man who recently won in a fight that,
at least the,
the performance was shades of what you were not hoping to see in his competition.
I went with Roman Coppulop, Jedman.
to shoe.
Bruno Ferreira versus Roman Coppulov.
I think that's a fun fight.
And even if Coppulov gets takedowns,
Ferreira is at least astute enough
on the ground to get up and
at least make things thrilling and exciting.
See, that's a fun fight, but Roman
Coppola deserves nothing good
to happen to him. He deserves
only our disdain and
dislike. And I don't
respect him.
This is me
on my Kendrick Lamar. I hate the way that you
walk. I hate the way that you talk. I hate everything
about you Roman Coppola and I'm not going to give you fun fights against dudes like Bruno
Ferro who are just, you know, hidden people because that was the goal. I was like, I don't really
want to have him fight somebody cool, you know, like, or good. I don't care about that with Ferre.
I just want to see him chuck them at people because that would be pretty dope. And I briefly
considered the opponent. I considered Cesar Alameda because Bruno Ferro will will stand up and
throw hands with Almeida. But that seems like you probably can't give.
I made of that fight, right?
He gets Koppel off, which was shooting him up,
and then you're giving him another kind of top 25-ish dude.
So I settled on another man who recently had a defeat,
mainly because I just want to see it.
I don't think this fight will happen,
but I want to see it because I think it'd be fun as hell.
Come on down, Mikhail Olegsacechik.
Just the two of you dudes going to throw him,
and one guy's going to fall over, probably in three minutes or less.
So the issue there, Olegiq,
I don't, we never confirmed if his arm got broken, like what happened.
It certainly looked injured.
I don't know how long he is going to be out.
If it's, if the timeline matches, great.
If not, then I just went with the old standby of Paul Craig.
Because either Paul Craig will do some cool jiu-jitsu stuff or he'll get knocked out violently.
And either of those are cool outcomes.
Bruno Ferreira should also be on standby.
It's coming somewhat quick, but if Cody Brundage cannot fight July 13th,
Bruno Ferreira versus Abdul Razak al-Hassan would be fun as hell too.
They try to book that fight a couple different times already.
So we can make it happen on short notice.
I don't know.
That's still fun.
But Bruno Ferreira's become must-see TV at 185 pounds.
I don't think this dude's going to be fighting for a belt or anything.
But who cares?
I don't care if he ever fights for a bell as long as he just keeps putting on fun fights like that.
So good stuff from Hulk, the Hulk smash once again in Louisville, Kentucky.
Speaking of fun, middleweight fights that didn't last very long,
Zach Reese, man, 20 seconds, just one shot, thumbs up Julian Marquez, gets the quick finish,
and huge win for Zachary Reese.
This is, I didn't know where to go here, Jed.
So I went sort of in the same way where we don't want to do like a Roman copuloft type
for a guy like Zach Reese who wanted to be in fun fights.
Coward.
We don't want to give him a coward.
That's right.
We don't.
So, like, again,
much like Brunifera, but in a much lower scale,
Zachary isn't going to be a top 15 guy.
He's not going to be fighting for belts.
I almost thought about matching for her and resup
because that's going to be super fun and very, very quick.
I ended up going with
Zachrys versus Edmund Chabazzian.
That's what I ended up going with.
Don't love it.
Damn it.
That's where I went.
I was so close to Edmund Chabazzian.
We could have had a really unexpected friends forever moment.
That would have been out of nowhere.
I out of nowhere because Reese was easily the hardest person for all of this for me to matchmaking for.
Rosas was weird, but I found it and was he,
Reese was just like, I don't, what do I care about?
Like, he's not, he's not going anywhere.
Like, he lost to Cody Brundage.
Like, he's not, he's not like a prospect.
And beating Julian Marquez is mostly just saying Julian Marcus probably needs to leave the USC at this point.
Like, what are we doing?
And so I, like you, I just kind of found a name guy who's been around for a while.
I won his most recent fight, so maybe he can get on a little bit of a win streak.
And I went Eric Anders.
Yeah, that's fine.
Just a whatever.
Yeah, I can live with that.
We go to the welterweight division.
Former middleweight, Punahili Soriano, looked incredible against Miguel Baezza.
Looked better than ever as a welterweight, even.
instead in his post-fighter, a lot of wrestling from Punasoriana.
We don't see that too often, but he says he feels more confident with his wrestling at
170 because he's not fighting a bunch of dudes that are way bigger than him.
And boy, did he chuck around Miguel Baezza?
Yes, things got a little hairy with the early leg lock, but Puna just started pounding him
with big shots.
And one of the biggest mistakes we see in our sport, especially in the UFC, the leg log
doesn't work and you're getting punched in the face real hard.
Just keep trying.
Just keep being a tryer.
And maybe it'll work out.
Did not work for Miguel,
by a couple 30-20-5s.
A couple 30-25s.
This is an interesting one.
It took me a while to think of it.
And then I was like, oh, yeah, this is too.
I nailed it.
But where did you go with for Puna?
Well, I'm excited because I feel like I nailed it.
And again, there's a little bit of wishcasting here.
Because the person I have picked is currently scheduled to fight an individual.
and I'm not even going with the winner of this fight.
I am saying he will win this fight,
even though I'm not even entirely sure I believe that.
And then you can give him Puna.
And it's Oben Elliott, the Welsh gangster himself.
He's fighting Preston Parson's.
If Oben Elliott gets through Preston Parson,
Puna at Walterweight against Oben Elliott feels like a fight I'm into.
That's fun.
I really like that one.
I'm going with a potential gym revenge fight.
We could turn Punisoriano into the MMA Masters killer.
He did it to Miguel Baezza.
Let's throw him in there with the teammate,
a fellow MMA Masters guy that trains with Miguel Baezza,
a guy who won very recently,
but a guy who didn't thrill at all,
mostly because of the opposition.
and I just think, I don't know.
I don't know if this is going to be fun or not,
but I feel like it makes sense.
There's a storyline here.
We keep the Extreme Coutour versus MMA Masters rivalry alive.
Puna Soriano versus Nico Price is where I'm going.
Oh, giving Puna a name, you know, coming off a win over like a top 40 welterweight.
I like it.
He goes, what, 30, probably like the 34th best welterweight.
So it's a proper step.
up.
Yeah.
I mean, I like it.
Just give him Puna a shot to advance.
Yeah, and he'll probably beat Nico Price.
Seems very likely that he would win that fight, actually.
So, yeah.
So there you go.
All right, let's go to the wild card round.
We'll select one fighter who have not match made for yet.
We'll matchmake for them right now.
Jed, who is your wild card selection for UFC Louisville?
I have two, and I can't decide which one I want to go with.
And I'm trying to see what you might have done to give us,
at least a chance, an outside chance of
friends forever.
Trying to think it because there's a low-hanging
fruit to match.
And I guess I'll go with that one.
Because I doubt you would do the other one.
I'm taking Ludovic Klein as the
I'm going to match make for it.
I did not go that way, so you're good.
Just because, you know,
it was the best fight on the card outside of the main event
when you're talking about level of competition.
Ludovic Klein quietly on like the second
longest unbeaten streak at lightweight.
Behind only is a Makachev, who, according to many people, not all, is the number one
pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
And so I don't think he gets a shot at the top 15 because lightweight is so hard.
You don't, like, beating Tiago Moises S is the guy who's like, you are firmly a top 25, dude,
maybe top 15, depending on what day of the week it is for Tiago Moises.
now he needs to get a shot.
He needs a win that will get him a fight against a ranked opponent.
And that win, that win, sir, is going to be Carlos Diego Faheta.
CDF coming off his own win recently.
A little bit older, certainly, but still showing he's got the juice.
I almost went with another fight, but almost won't Jock R Close, frankly,
because Jocker Close is on a very good win streak.
But that fight just seems substantially less fun than watching CDF fight
because CDF is awesome.
And so, yeah, going with CDF,
just fight the other Brazilian dude who's very good,
been around the top 15, sometimes has been in it,
sometimes it's been not.
And if he gets that one, he beats CDF,
all right, then he gets a ranked opponent to try and crack in.
I love that fight.
That makes a ton of sense.
It's a good one.
I went with Carlos Pratchez.
This dude is so fun, man.
That was the guy I almost went with.
I just didn't think.
I thought you'd go with the low-hanging lightweight, not the welterweight process.
I went with him.
God, he's so fun, man.
There's just, he's so good.
He is an absolute sniper.
He's a tough out for a lot of folk.
And boy, it'd be hilarious.
I loved him just shouting stuff to Bala Muhammad in the crowd.
Good fun stuff right there from Carlos Pratchez.
I wasn't sure where to go.
My first thought was-
I need you to not say one name.
Because if you say this name and it is written on this sheet right here, I'll lose my mind
that we missed this chance.
Tim Means was my first choice.
That was the first choice.
I did not go with Tim Means, though.
I ended up looking up and down the ladder and I was like, look, typically the UFC doesn't
match up guys that are on good runs, especially unbeaten runs, two guys who are very fun
to watch.
But I think it's time.
I think we got to go ahead and do it.
We got to separate the men from the boys here.
Carlos Prochis versus Brian Battle at 170 pounds.
Thumper.
That's a very good fight.
Do you think Brian Battle takes that fight?
Because he like has aspirations to be higher and that's fighting back for him, I think.
Not much though.
Who do you, like who?
I just don't know.
I don't know.
I agree that the fight would be viable.
I just battle seems like a guy who's in the I only want a ranked dude or a guy who's going to get me a rank.
dude and I just don't know if Prattis gets him there.
Yeah, he's not.
Unfortunately for him, I like Brian Batt a lot.
He's not there.
And I mean, who knows?
Basically, the UFC's probably going to be like run back Angelosa and just like finish
that one because there's some heat there.
Or you could fight this other dude who is on a great run and it's finishing guys like crazy.
Oh, they already rebooked him.
Onzos is fighting Gabriel Bonfim.
Oh.
So after that.
Andloso will not be in the Ryan Battle Derby
because he will have a loss.
He will have lost to Gabriel Bonfeeb.
So when I was looking at him,
I was just going timelines and a fight that I think would be fun.
And despite this guy having two fights in the UFC,
they've both been bangers, man.
And I don't know how good he is.
And this isn't like a great,
we're going to find out something.
But it's fun and two dudes who are relatively new.
and I would have gone Basil Hoffas.
Oh, okay.
Because, like, that fight with Mickey Gall,
I finally went back and watched it.
That fight was very fun.
And then obviously,
Hoffa's fight before that was exceptional.
He showed a lot of grit in losing to JDM.
And I like Carlos Britt does a lot.
And so I was like, yeah,
let's just have some fun with these two dudes.
Yeah, that would be fun.
But, yeah, him against anybody,
I just want to see.
so damn good. Shout out to Daniel Marcos as well. He's really fun to watch. That fight with John
Cassonado was decent. It was the Daniel Marcos show until like the last minute of that
fight and Cassonator had a moment. But yeah, some decent performances. Boating for flight 246 to
Toronto is delayed 50 minutes.
What? What? Sounds like Ojo time. Play Ojo. Great idea.

Let's go right to the peeps.
I'll read some of these off and then we can react to them.
Mike, I even got one.
They said they sent it to you as well, but Chase Kowlaw fired one to me and was like, hey, okay.
All right.
I will let you read Chase so we get to it.
I kept it just in case, but I was like, wow, look at this dedicated fan.
He knows I'm stepping in.
Love it for Chase.
I mean, love the people who watch all of our stuff and are just well aware of what's
happening with the schedule. So let's get into it. Alex first. Here are my picks for UFC Louisville.
Emova versus Brandon Allen. It can happen in Paris like he wants, but I think he still needs
one more win to really get into contention. I completely agree. Dominic Grace versus Anthony Smith,
Raul Rocha Jr. versus Al-Tang-A-Lay-Lee. I feel like we're going to be reacting to
every Raul-Rosha Jr. pick at this point. You like Al-A-Lat-Tang-A-Lie? I think that's fine.
Yeah, it's fine. Yeah, it's fine. Bruno Ferreira.
versus Bo Nicol. I actually like the callout. He's in the same range as Bo in my book,
and the UFC can almost rationalize ranking Bo if he wins. Do you like the Bruno Ferreira
versus Bo Nicol idea? So I hate the idea, but not because it's a bad one. I actually respect
Reno Fahedahed making the callout. I don't think that that is a bad callout to make, you know,
you believe you can win that fight. That guy's got some juice, particularly Boe Nichols' most
recent fight. You know, the Cody Brundage fight, a win, but certainly
I think tamped expectations down a little bit for everybody.
He didn't just totally annihilate Brundage.
And so that is a fight that maybe could happen for the Hulk.
He could get that fight.
I would still say he's not on the inside track there,
but I don't hate the callout.
I just hate the fight.
Bruno de Hedda is so fun.
Boehrenckel will not be fun.
Like he,
bow nickel will just take him down a bunch and probably defeat him.
fairly easily. And so that's not what I want for my Bruno Faheda fights. I want him fighting dudes
like Mikhail Oluix Echek, who is just going to chuck them with them and let the chips fall where
they may. Like that's, and that's not how Bruno Fahedder clearly wants to run his career and I respect
his choices. But for me, I have already view him as an exciting fun fighter and I don't care
at all about his like divisional relevancy. So I hate the fight, but I do.
do understand the callout in the match, and it's not bad.
I just, not to my taste.
I'm with you on that.
A little bit of doo-do here.
Zach Rees versus Phil Haas.
Phil Haas is not in the UFC anymore after getting brutally K.
I believe Bruno Ferrer is the one that knocked him out of the UFC, if memory surgery correctly.
So, yeah, I don't think Phil Haas is even in the UFC.
So a little bit of a doo-soiriano versus Matthew Semelsberger and Wildcard, Pratchez versus Alex
Marono in Australia
like he asked for after that performance.
So you got Mr. Zimblerger's pretty good.
Yeah.
I mean, we already know how that fight's going to go, Jed.
We sure do.
You can read a Matthew Settlesberger fight pretty well.
They are all the same, but it's still fun.
And, you know, if Matthew Simulzberger gets them out of there early,
didn't he get some out of there early?
Tristan only had a couple.
Ludwig Klein versus Dracar Close.
That was my backup fighter.
But because I looked at it, I was like, CDF is a much more fun fight than Charkoos is.
So I went CDF instead.
So I'm with you, buddy.
Yeah, that's a good one.
And he went with Taylor Lapilus versus Saeed Narmaga Madoff, who is no longer competing in Saudi Arabia against Montel Jackson.
So he is available.
John Ray, Lappalus versus the John Silva de Androge winner, Goams versus Lucindo, Marcus versus Pedro Munoz.
Wow.
That's a pretty big step up.
There's a huge leap up.
He's got to get one more before he gets that.
Yeah, I agree.
Montana de la Rosa, who saved her job versus Dione Barbosa.
Brad Catona gets a matchmaking suggestion against Sergei Morozov.
Prochus versus Punezoriano.
We're just matching up two of the winners from the same card.
Klein versus Ishmael Bonfim, Reese versus Anders.
He's with you there.
Ferrer versus the Jun Young Park.
Brad Tavar's winner.
I also looked at that one.
Just like whatever.
But not a bad matchup.
Canineer versus Brennan Allen.
He also likes Imovov versus Whitaker win or lose.
Because if Whitaker wins, Strickland will get the Izzy DDP winner.
If Whitaker loses, Strickland will fight the Izzy DDP loser as a pay-per-view co-main of that.
How do you feel about Canada versus Brennan Allen?
Sure.
don't
Yeah
I don't know
Just kind of where
Both guys are right now
But I think
Brennan Allen probably deserves
A guy coming off of a big win
As opposed to fighting Canaanair
Yeah I don't know where Canadiere goes from here
I'm glad we didn't have to matchmake for him
Yeah thank goodness
He's 40 years old
I'm sure he still wants to be in the title picture
But he's 40 years old
And that's just tough
I don't know
Yeah I think Canada is just kind of in a spot where
Canaaner should call up Bo Nickel
Yeah, I don't hate that at all.
That's actually a great idea.
It's about the best shot he could get.
So I said after 302 that Paula Costa's next opponent is going to be Bo Nicol.
It's not going to be Bo Nichols' next fight, but I don't think Paul is going to be fighting for a minute.
So I think he's going to be out for a little while.
Bo will get at least a winner two under his belt.
And then when he gets into like, let's throw him in there with the top 10 dude, you throw him in there with Paulo.
I think that that makes all of the popular.
sense that has ever made sense.
So I suspect that you're correct.
We'll see.
Well, like, you could maybe just do Costa Canoneer, I guess.
Like, if Costa does want to fight soon, you know, by the end of the year.
So Jason drops a name that I think would actually make a lot of sense for Canaan Air.
But he's matching Imovop up with this individual.
Kyle Barallio.
I could see Kyle Barallio getting the Canaaner fight.
Yeah.
I mean, those, like, Kyle Boralio and Michelle Pahed deserve a shot to me.
move up. It's just going to be who is the guy above them in the rankings that gives them.
And like I said, I think Kennedy or deserves to like should have to do that. But I also do
feel bad that he got a little bit screwed on Saturday. And now through no fault of his own is
just kind of be put in that position. But it wouldn't be bad. No. Domina Graves versus Philippe
Linz still a step back. Someone on a win streak. Less chance of Reyes getting chaoed. Let's see
where we're at. Don't hate it. Don't love it, but don't hate it. It just seems like Anthony Smith
right there. That's like, to me, it's like booking Savannah Marshall and Colercia Shields in the
PFL against anybody else but each other because nothing makes, nothing else makes sense.
It's almost like 100% that it's Anthony Smith. Like that just, that fight is just going to happen.
And yeah, did you watch the Savannah Marshall fight at all, by the way?
I saw the high, I saw the finish. From what I suspect,
the fight went exactly the way I thought it was going to go.
She's a better MMA fighter than Clarissa Shields.
It's not a better boxer.
So just do it now.
But they're going to do it now.
It sure looks like.
And I mean, I don't, who the hell knows who's going to win that fight?
But, you know, she's kind of impressive, frankly, while being bad, still impressed while
being bad.
I love how PFL promoted their video of their faceoff as possible future opponents.
I'm like, what?
You use two words that you should not have used that.
It should have been absolutely the next opponent and not possible future opponent.
These two should be fighting each other.
If they are matched up with anybody else, it is promotional malpractice.
But PFL, very good at that.
Very, very good at that.
Although Dan Hardy, MVP for his interview with Clarissa.
That was, that was Oud Plus shit.
If you guys didn't see it, which I'm sure you didn't,
because I actually don't think you could watch it.
Croesus Shields is Caged side for this Phantom Marshall fight,
and they're talking to her beforehand.
And Shields is downplaying Marshall's opponent.
Not like incorrectly, frankly.
It's like, yeah, she's like, yeah, I've been matched up really hard.
And this girl, she's fighting is not very good.
And she is not realizing that the man who made this,
that Dan Hardy is the dude who does matchmaking for PFL Europe.
And he is standing right next to her.
And he clearly gets like a little bit offended by this and goes,
well, she's a world champion kickboxer and the BGA purple belt.
She's got all the bases covered.
And frankly, I watched your last fight.
And she would give you a tough time.
And I was just like, oh, my God.
Yeah, so good.
Artie just stared her in the face and said it was on.
I thought, I actually thought Kelsey DeSantis beat Clarissa Shields.
Yeah.
Most people thought that.
And that's, it was, it was just a deeply funny thing because she was like, yeah, I've been mashed up really tough.
And I was like, that's not entirely true.
And then she's like, and this girl sucks.
Like, I don't know what the matchmaker just.
doing and the matchmaker is right there and did not take kindly to that.
It was awesome.
B of L.
The issue, though, Mike, with why they haven't announced that fight is because both of
these women are professionals and they understand prize fighting and they have boxing options
as well.
So they can't say this is going to happen.
They are going to have to pay both of them because shout out to Samantha Marshall afterwards.
they asked was like, hey, are you staying in
in the M.A.? Are you going back to boxing?
She was unequivocal.
You know, whoever's going to pay me more.
It's like, whoever's going to open up that checkbook
will determine where I compete next.
Way to go. Get the bag, baby.
Yeah.
Coitia Shields is booked
against a 7-in-1 fighter named Vanessa La Pages
from Canada.
That fight is.
going down. One is that freaking fight going down?
July 27th.
So, Shields maybe the end of the year.
Sanne Marshall B. Ringside
for that, you know?
Yes. Yes. And have Dan Hardy
sitting next to you. That would be incredible.
Roll Roses Jr. What do you think
about this, Jed? Roller Russell Jr. versus
Hanayya, too much?
I think
it's not bad.
Honestly, it's not bad.
So Rousers Jr., my concern there is you are taking a guy who is substantially better than Rall Roses Jr.
in Rouser Jr.'s area of expertise.
Now, Roses Jr.'s physicality and might just be enough to beat Raniya.
Hiaia.
Hiaia is exactly the kind of dude that you don't give prospects to until you are really ready to test their merit.
Because he is just so crafty and wily and annoying and has the hat, like, disability.
to find the back.
And look, I like Gregi Terseos.
The Ricky Tertios, like, if Honey-I-Yaya gets on the back like Riky Tertios did, that's a wrap.
Like, he is not going to get spun around in like Tersios did.
He's going to lock that up.
So I think that that is maybe, I don't hate that fight in the future.
I think right now, again, he's 19 years old.
Just have him fight dudes he can beat, get Caged Time, develop into a fighter, learn how to fist-fight people.
Yeah
He also likes for her versus Coppulov
I like this one
Zach Rees versus Claudio Roberto
Someone's going nine night
Yeah real fast
That's not bad actually
To get or get God all stars
That's really not bad at all
I think Rivera's been to a third round once
And it was a splitie
And all of his other fights
And like within eight or nine minutes
So that fight's not getting out of the first
Yeah I like that one
Good one
He's with you Klein versus CDF
Prakis versus Tim Means
Barakitona versus Cameron Simon.
De La Rosa versus Stoliarenko,
Marcos versus Amin Sahabi.
I think Sahabi probably deserves
I don't think.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Coney Garbrand.
Like I think he'd be fine.
Sohby needs to go up, not back.
Yeah.
He's,
I mean,
he just beat a basher.
Yeah.
I mean,
what else is this man have to do?
And I don't even honestly like Zhabi that much.
But like he just,
he beat,
he beat a guy who is a better
Marcos from like,
he's like,
Here, Daniel Marcos is like a less popular basharat.
So he got to go up, not back.
Yeah.
Gomes versus Carolina Kovacavich, like that.
Lappalus versus Davy Grant, fine.
Sure.
Tomar versus Shana Bannon winner lose.
Win-Lose or draw versus Olivera at UFC 304.
Four corner sports.
Imovov versus Costa, Maine or Co-Mane for the France card.
Cannoneer versus Fluffy Hernandez.
What do you think about Imovov versus Costa in the main event
of Paris.
It's fine.
That kind of actually makes a lot of sense as a, like, who else is main
inventing Paris?
Cyril gone.
Is he fighting?
I don't know.
Isn't he filming movies and he's carrying the Olympic torch and doing shit?
Yeah, but that's Paris September, so he'd still have two months to get ready.
I mean.
But who's going to fight is the question?
Is he fighting marching Taibora?
I don't know if I want to see that.
He should fight Jailson Almeida.
That's a 100%.
100% not fight Jelton Almeda.
I can't stress this enough to you, Cyril, if you're listening, don't fight Jelton Almeda.
That will go, you remember when you fought John Jones and were really bad?
It will be exactly the same thing.
So, I mean, that would make a lot of sense as the Paris main event.
And I can't for the life of me think what would get Cyril gone to accept that fight if I'm in his team.
So.
Yeah.
So Cyril versus Bartian Taibora, main event at the UFC Paris.
Dominic Reyes v. Nikita Krilov, Raul Roes Jr. versus Brad Katona or Brady Highstand.
If Highstand beats Garrett Armfield next week,
Raul Roche should be taking out every band and weight that has been part of tough, is the reasoning behind that.
So I actually really like the Krylov fight.
It's not going to happen. It's going to be Anthony Smith, and I'm okay with that.
But I do in general kind of want to see that matchup now that Reyes just want to fight.
Yeah.
Daniel Marcos versus Chris Gutierrez
Good step up
Bruno Ferre
versus Abus Magamadeoff
I kind of like that
Marcus Gutierrez
That's good one
Goethears wants to fight on that Denver card
So that'd be good one
Kind of like that and fight a lot
That's good one
And I like for a boost magamatoff
That is pretty fun
I didn't know what to do
Like I was looking at a boost
And was like
What do we think
What's he supposed to be
Because he main evented
But he's not
not good, but he's not, I don't know.
But yeah, it's a fun matchup.
Yeah.
But a boost might just take Ferreira down a whole bunch, too.
Yeah, well, we got to stop.
We saw in this most recent outing.
We need to not allow people from Daristan to fight unless we specifically want them to wrestle people.
I'm looking at you, Roman Coppola.
Let's go to Harry and then I'll let you read Chase.
Lapples versus Victor Henry, like that one, Gomes versus Tolita Allen Carr,
Brad Katona versus Adrian Yannias.
Do we want to see that?
No.
I don't want to see that.
I mean, I kind of want to see it because Adrian Yanyan has probably just kills him.
But he might get taken down a whole bunch.
He might.
But then eventually not get taken down and just put the hands on him.
But no, I don't, Bracketon is the void of interest.
Like, he is a black hole of my interest.
If he is an aim as mentioned, I can't even put together a coherent thought because it just gets sucked out of my head
into the absolute depths of not caring.
So, sure, whatever you want to do with Brad Cotonou is fine.
Yeah.
Pradus versus Kevin Jocet in Australia.
That's fine.
Klein versus Jalen Turner.
I know you don't love that because you think Jailen Turner's going to Welterweight.
I don't think he is.
I think he needs to.
Yeah.
Soriano versus Basil Lefez,
Reese, Poteeria.
I mean, that's really good.
There's no way that fight stinks.
I really thought about that, too.
but again, I'm never going to put the do list in anything.
I have a personal vendetta against that man.
And then last one from Harry,
Raul Rostr Jr. versus Hione Barcellos.
Eh, a little high.
A little high, but it's fine.
All right.
Why don't you read off Chase and then we'll get the hell out of here?
Chase Kola.
Emova versus the Allen Vittori winner.
Is Alan, Alan's fighting Votori?
that's happening?
No.
Okay.
But I think he's assuming that they're going to make that fight.
Okay.
Yeah.
No, all right, not at the moment.
Say, I didn't think that that was the thing, but I guess if that happens and then
Eamov fights the winner of that, Chase gets an ought no point for sure because this is, I mean,
this is really a double crystal balling here.
He has predicted Allen will fight Vittori and then Eamovov will fight the winner.
Dom Reyes versus Anthony Smith.
He went shock.
Raul Roses Jr. versus Daniel Santos, and then Bruno Faheda versus Chris Curtis,
which I actually don't mind that fight.
I'm not sure I love that fight, but it's not the worst thing I've ever heard.
It's not bad.
I feel like Chris, I feel like it's a really tough stylistic matcher for Chris,
but it could be really fun.
We get to see Chris's sort of defensive savvy with the striking against a dude who just throws a whole bunch.
I mean, we saw it against Joaquin Buckley,
and Chris Curtis kind of just changed the way
Joaquin Bucle fights forever
with the way he was able to just avoid every punch
Joaquin through, and then when he saw an opening,
you knocked them out.
So, yeah, I don't hate that.
Curtis is ranked too, so that would get the Hulk in the rankings,
which would then be.
Curtis is, uh,
Curtis got hurt pretty bad in the Allen fight,
but, uh, no structural, like real structural damage from what I've been told.
And he's already moving around
in the gym and throwing punches.
I don't think he's like medically cleared just yet,
but all things considered,
the way things looked at the end of that fight with Brennan,
and then the coming days in the tweets,
it seems like the news couldn't be better for Chris Curtis.
So perhaps we see him later on this year,
and fights Bernard Ferreira, that is fun.
If that happened and Ferreira beat Curtis and got ranked,
the bottom of the top 15,
the UFC's rankings are Hamzao Chamaia,
Roman Deleiz, Kyle Barrio, Michelle Paheta, Fluffy Hernandez, and in Faheta.
Like, just young dope dudes.
That would be awesome.
And then Iqram's coming too, man.
That dude is a killer.
Brendan Allen's already in the top five or whatever.
Drickus Duplice is still pretty young, frankly.
Like, be pretty great for middleweight.
Middleweight's coming.
A lot of getter get got all stars.
We got Bo NICL coming up.
We got a lot of dudes coming up.
So middleweight's going to be very, very fun.
Middleweight is trying desperately to be a real division.
Light heavyweight has abandoned all pretense of being a real division.
But like the good divisions have always been featherweight through welterweight.
And then middleweight has been middle weighty, hence the term middleweighty.
But it's trying really hard to make a case that it's actually featherweight or it's actually bantam weight through middleweight.
Like those are the real divisions.
And I love the effort from it.
Yes. I think we have to change the middleweighty, middleweight title to the light heavy weighty.
Oh, it's...
Yeah, it really is taken that by the horns. It's pretty tough.
For sure.
Well, my friends. Dominic Reyes was ranked in the O'SC's rankings prior to this fight.
It's just tough place to be. He's going to move up a couple of spots more than likely.
So look, if you want to be excited, look no further.
The next weekend?
The next weekend, everybody.
Look no further.
I have to make,
I have to make a hundred percent certain that I don't,
that I'm not going to cry.
You're not going to cry.
Boy.
Okay.
I'm not going to cry.
I was crying a little bit inside last night because they showed that graphic and it said
the main card for UFC Vegas 93, I believe, is a 10 p.m. Eastern main card.
Looking at the website right now, UFC.com slash events,
7 p.m.
Changed it.
So you didn't see it this morning.
I'm looking at it right
But yeah, they changed it this morning
Somebody posted
Somebody reported that
I want to say it was Aaron Bronstetter
reported that they
It was set to be 10 p.m.
But between last night and this morning
the UFC
modified the start time
to now a 7 p.m. start time
Eastern time.
I don't think that's correct.
I think it was always a 7 p.m. main card
At least when we read off the lineup
last week,
main card, but I was, I was, it broke my soul when I saw 10 p.m. Eastern main card last, last night.
I was like, no, you can't do this to us, please. Because look at this line up, my friends.
Just look at it.
Aaron Bronsetter reported this on Friday night that they modified the start time to 7 p.m.
So my timeline was a little, little off. But yes, you're correct.
So maybe they switched it prior to the event, but did not switch their graphics.
Okay. All right.
Boy, look at this card.
Much better.
Alex Perez versus Tetsu or Tira, the main event.
I am looking forward to that.
Tira gets a step up that I've been waiting for.
Let's see what he can do.
He might just insert himself into the championship picture with the win.
We saw it.
That's it.
Young Stevie Erseg.
Vinnie Siggs is able to do with the big win at the world's most famous Apex.
Let's see if Tetsu or Tira can put himself in the conversation.
Icramal Scarraf is back.
He takes on Antonio Trucchioli.
Adam Fugit versus Josh Quinlan.
that is the featured belt, my friends.
Asu Almabaya versus Jose Johnson.
That is a main card fight.
Miles Johns versus Douglas Silva Day Andrade.
Should be pretty fun, actually.
Lucas Almeida versus Timmy Kwaamba is a main card fight.
Nate Mainis versus Jimmy Flick.
Carly, Judice versus Gabriella Fernandez.
Julia Pallastri versus Josephine Knutson.
Garrett Armfield, Brady Highstand, gets moved down to the prelims.
don't know why. I really like that fight.
Jekka Saragi versus Weston
Wilson, who is still fighting in the
UFC for reasons.
To Gere Ullumbeckoff, Josh Van is the
second fight of the night, and it's like
the third best fight on the card.
And opening things up, as of right now,
Shiland, Nerdenbeca
versus Malkazio Costa.
This, boy, oh boy.
This is going to have the lowest fight above
replacement tussle score of all time.
Are we even going to get to two?
with this one?
No, it's not getting to two.
I don't know.
I think we get to two.
It's not getting to two.
It's one.
Tyra's a half, right?
No, Tyra Perez is one.
That's a one.
That's a good fight.
The main event is a good fight,
and Alice Carav gets a half.
And that's it.
That's all the fights above replacement tussles.
Garrett Arnfield, Brady Highstand.
There's an absolutely replacement level tussle.
Ullumbeka, Van does a get a point or a half a point?
Damn.
Every other fight on this card.
Like if it left the card, you would not be like, that's a real shame.
This is a list of this, more so than any other event we've ever covered, Mike.
This is UFC Vegas 93 colon contractual obligations.
Yeah, this is a tough one.
It's a tough one.
Oh, crap.
It's going to be up to two to gear, Lund Beckhoff.
ranked in the UFC's rankings.
I did not realize that.
Oh, yeah, he's, yeah, he's ranked.
Yeah, so it's two.
It's really good, man.
There are two fights above replacement tussles.
Then because he's ranked, so definitionally, he has to get a half.
Yeah.
And I think I am ranking Iscambe Alaskarab, so he gets a half from me.
I think I have Alaskarraf like in my top 10 already.
Pretty sure I'm like 12 or 13, but yeah, tough times.
Yeah.
But boy, if there's one card, we were just like, please.
be done. It's this one
because then we go to Saudi Arabia for some
afternoon MMA which is incredible. This is a great
car with the great main event and then it's on to
June 29 for Connor McGregor versus Michael
Chandler and UFC 303. So we just
got to get through one more of these and then
it's just nothing but fun
for the next two weeks.
Love that. Love this for us. We're doing
great. Proud of us. Yes.
Jed, thank you for
tagging in and
replacing the great Alexander K. Lee.
We'll probably see you after
UFC Vegas 98, which is headlined by two unranked fighters that probably aren't even in the
UFC right now. I demand to be brought on for the post of UFC Apex 100. Because again,
you bring me in for the big shows and I demand satisfaction for that one.
Sounds good. A.K. back next week as we discuss the fallout of UFC Vegas 93. This is under an hour.
There's a real good chance that next week will be under an hour. And
then it's on to Saudi Arabia, on to 303.
And then it's just going to be some fun stuff.
I'm going to let you know now.
If something happens, I'm busy and can't, cannot know next week.
Well, for Jed, at least this week and certainly not next week.
I'm watching my head.
I can't do it.
Yeah, me too.
If I could pull that one off.
Thank you.
Much appreciated.
I always remember the golden rule.
Don't take this stuff too seriously.
MMA is supposed to be fun.
and boy, A.K. and I are going to try to have as much fun as possible next week right here.
