There's a scrapping right now. One decision. Oh, Minifield! Oh, my God. Look at those uppercuts. He's trying to literally knock Jacoby out of the cage. These dudes are crazy, bro. Oh, nice leg kick for Menafield.

This fight is super fun. Oh, my gosh. Menefield, the nice jab. Menofield doing way better than I thought he was going to do in this fight. One decision so far tonight? And it was one of the best fights of the year. Yes, absolutely incredible stuff from Irene Aldana and Carol Hosa. They killed it.

Probably the best female fight of the year. Yeah, I know. We'll lose it at the end of this fight. Because it's like getting in my eyes and it's tickling my nose. There's a lot of itchiness going on. And I mean, we've got to lock in for this main card. We've got to lock in. So it's also like giant.

Like I feel like... I mean, do you bring you a brush? Because that's the problem. Yeah. I feel like my head has like tripled in size by putting all this on. Look at that. We got lights. Yes.

I mean, this is great. Look at this. This will be, if any of our bets cash, we'll turn the lights on. And I'm glad, oh,

I turned it right off. This is the first time I've been able to do that. So at least we saved it for being live here. Yeah, this card's been crazy. We'll recap what we've seen on the prelims after this fight. Card has been crazy and we're not even at the main card. And the main card just feels like we're cranking it up to 11.

Yeah, DC nailed it. He said, you want to know how you can judge if a card is good? We're at the final prelim, and it doesn't even, we didn't even know it. Yes. It's amazing. Pacing, like, I mean, we've gotten a ton of finishes, so pacing has been, you know, it's been some downtime, but, I mean, the fights overall have been fantastic.

Yes. Even this one. Yeah, it's super exciting, man. It was like, all right, it'll be okay. It'll be like a women's Banimway fight. And then this would be like a light heavyweight-ish, light-heavy-weight fight. A lot of space kickboxing, Jacoby kind of chips away. But no, these two guys getting after it.

And, oh, they hit, like, landed leg kicks at the exact same time. So we're about 10 seconds left in round two. Still got round three. And then we're going to get right into the meat and potatoes of this whole thing, the main card, which is... I mean, dude, we were halfway through the card before we saw our first third round of the night. Yes. It's amazing stuff.

All right, few rounds in the books. Am I tripping or did that sync up perfectly with the UFC broadcast? And the horn sounded identical tonight. It was perfect. Okay, corporate Alex on the ones and twos. Hey, shout out to old CA, baby. Frank, how are you doing back there, man? Holiday Spirit?

You got a get-up going on, or is you just like same old club you're always rocking? Dressed up as audio engineer Santa? What's that look like? Black t-shirt? Black hoodie, black pants. Yeah, nice, nice, nice. Oh, ho, ho. The audio guy has to be in all black at all times.

Wow. All right. On paper, is this the highest number you would have given a card this year? Or is there something that was higher than this one? I mean, as far as card, yes, this is the highest. But as far as like single fight, no. That's, yeah, that Gary fight, which I'm sure we'll talk about. We got a round three here, featured prelim.

We don't get this too often, man. We don't. We don't get this too often. This is great. The pacing of these prelims have actually been really good to set it up, so we get like a third round here. Yeah. There's Chris Tione who just allowed to gear Olin Beckoff to get away with

You are not kidding. What did I say? Wow. Flowing now? Yes. Ten seconds later, you just get nice to strangle him. Yeah, it just gets absolutely not. to clean. Is he going for a sub?

He is? Wouldn't that be sub? What is Menafield? Holy shit. This would be a crazy comeback from Menofield if he's able to get this done. Yeah, because he was clear. Oh, Jacoby's a box! Oh, big knee! Jacoby's a bloody mess.

Now Jacob's going for a takedown. This fight is incredibly... Man. This is super fun. Jacobi needs to like win the next. Oh man, they're showing a replay of the left from Menefield. That was nasty that put Jacoby down. Man, wow.

How did he survive? I don't know, dude, because he took some massive shots on the way up too. 90 seconds left in this featured prelim and this one is delivering. Jacoby is bleeding on the top of his head, it looks like. Both these dudes, man, bleeding bad. Slugging it out. I'm really interested if this one lasts the last 80 seconds, I'm interested to see who they score this for, man, because I have no clue.

The knockdown probably gives it to Menefield here, so it's probably, unless something drastically changes, I would probably say Menafeel wins this. I mean, round two is pretty close. But I wasn't, like you, I wasn't watching it, like, super intently. Metafield going with the single leg here. Both these guys are just exhausted right now. This is the Menefield. This is what Menefield did against William Knight a little bit. They battled against the fence.

He was happy being in this position and ended up losing the fight. Yeah. But the knockdown... Yeah, I mean, as good as Jacoby was looking, that knockdown and the following shots, you're going to have to give this round to Mennifield. 30 seconds left.

Jacobi right in this corner, Mark Montoyer yelling at him, yelling at him. Tell him to get after it. Yeah, not much happening in this last 60 seconds. 20 seconds left here. Oh, look at the timer right up there. Shout out to Draft Kings. Jacoby tried to get away, but Menafield just hanging out.

I assume it's going to be Alonso Menefield, but... I could be wrong. I could see a split. A little split-y city. Buffman with his beautiful jacket on. All three judges. The missed decision. Wow.

On the Meneffield, yep. That knockdown won the fight for him then. Yep. That was it. Man. That's a big win for a long time. Yeah, big, big one, dude. A big underdog. Like a plus 250 underdog or something like that.

All right. It's time, everybody. He doesn't get any mic time, huh? Well, yeah, I mean. I mean, we got to get to the main card. Manifield's not a big talker anyways, so I think he's probably at the end of the day. I know. He's just kind of mozying around in the cage.

He's like, oh, no one's going to come back. Joe. Joe, Roe. Where are you? They're probably like, I didn't think you were interested. Yes. All right.

You just said it, man. There they come. Old DT.45, Kid Rock, Dana White. Dana loves this so much, man. He loves this so much. It's kind of becoming like a tradition

that like as we're entering the main card, got the fans in the in the MAGA hats, showing love. Is that A.C. Slater with him? Is that Mario Lopez there? Is that, is that, it is Mario. What? That is so random.

What a crazy edition. Forget Tucker Carlson. We got A.C. Wow. I wonder what gave Mario Lopez the call up over, over Tucker here. I don't know. I mean. What an insane little, what do you even call that? A trio? What a, a quadrio? A quadria.

Look at Trotting on in to support old double C. I mean, if you told A.C. Slater when he was winning state championships at Bayside High School that 20 years later, he'd be walking into UFC 296 with Donald Trump, Dana White, and Kid Rock. You have to believe Albert Clifford Slater was like, no, I just don't see it happening. And here we are. Did Dana White at one point say those aren't planned? I don't know it's like so it's like so written into the production. Like it's just like, all right, main card ends. Here you guys go. I feel like soon we're going to get like the Megynolevi standing

and then they're going to come, like how like the fighters come behind her and like they show up. I feel like we're going to start getting that. On some men who feels looking for his post-finding. He doesn't get it because you're going to get the entrance of the four horsemen. Here we go. I think there was a report that Kobe asked Trump to walk out with him, like to the cage. Could you imagine him?

if we've gotten Trump in a black and gold or a black and white venom full fight Covington kit, that would have been ridiculous. I totally understand why it's not happening for the reasons that Colby sort of laid out. You need the amount of security, the amount of people. I mean, you see how many people walk out with them? That crew probably was just them kid rock,

Dana White, and Mario Lopez, and there was like 30 people walking out. So I cover one of the last, events I covered before I came to M-A-Fighting was UFC 244. That was the Mazadol-D-S-C card at MSG and Trump was there. That was the first time like a sitting president was going

to a UFC card and just like getting into the building was absolutely insane. Like every police officer in New York City was there like across the street. All the cars lined up like super like it was surreal to actually see it and then getting in and seeing

the, you know, the different sorts of security and the Secret Service and the dogs that were sniffing your bags. Dogs that they were basically telling you, like, do not even look at this dog the wrong way or he will rip you apart. Now, do you think it's just as intense

with him being a former president? Oh yeah, I bet it is. I bet it's a little more... It's crazy. People are used to it by now, but that first time was... Yeah, that presidential security is something else, man. Absolutely.

Yeah, what a spectacle of this is going to be. It's a main card time. I mean, five pack of fights that just every single one of them I can't wait for. I know. It's just like, as good as that Gary. Dude. As good as those prelims were, it feels like we're cranking it up a notch going on his main card. It just like, it almost feels like they just get better and better as the night goes on, too.

We had Shemiel Gatsyif, 12 and O, gets it done. Dude, he dominated that fight, by the way. I don't know if everyone was tuned in that early on. But he absolutely dominated that fight from Pillar to post. As soon as it was like, I mean, it was just like from jump. It was like, wow, he is faster. He's got more power. It was a great performance by him.

A first round finish for Andre Feeley. Crazy, man. That was really impressive. Tough to see for Lucas Almeida. Tagir, Ula and Becuff. We spoke about. Man, our guy from GA, the real G. Taps Cody.

Georgia, Cody. Unfortunately, he doesn't get it done. I have to say, well, Cody Garbrant gets the, first round knockout of Brian Kelleher. We talked about Alonza Menophealdon, Dusha, Rini Aldana, Carol Hosa, beat the brakes off of each other. Couldn't believe how good that fight was, man.

It looked like in the first round that Irene Al-Dano wasn't even going to be able to get off the stool because her leg was just so chopped up. It's like a candy cane. Toughness, man. The toughness on both those women was elite, dude. It was a fantastic one. And then he finished it off with another decision.

That was just an absolute banger. No boring fight so far. Five finishes, two great decisions? Yeah. Now we get the main card, man. Amazing. Main car, our prelim MVP to me was Ariani Lipski. Oh my gosh, she looked so good.

So good, man. How many dogs won on the prelims? A whole bunch. Chimiel was a dog. Lipsky was a dog. Oh, that might have been it. And Dutonzo Menefield was a dog. So three out of seven.

Three to seven, almost half of them. Yeah. Here we go. John Anick doing the intro. We get the UFC ornament on the, Yeah, we got a little Christmas theme. I kind of like this. I feel like last year for, what was that, 282,

there was no theme. It was a little bit earlier in the month. We still had a card to go. I like, I like ending the year on a pay-per-view. I like this, man. Send us off into 2024, right? I think once you hit sort of the midway point of December, when you, like, just barely eclips that mark,

it just makes it feel bigger, more festive. Oh, yeah, yeah. As opposed to do it on, like, December 10th. At this point, you have to be all bought in on the holiday season. 100. I mean, it's like Hanukkah is come and gone. Christmas is less than 10 days away. I mean, it's in full swing here.

Main events. Oh, my God. For UFC 296, Leon Edwards versus Colby Covington. A lot of build for this one. A lot of talk about whether or not Colby deserves it. None of that really matters at this point, but these two- get into a new and fight. Thursday, things got a little personal at the press conference.

Colby said what he said. We don't need to really get into it. Leon reacted the way that he did. Leon is taking this very, very, very personal. personally, this talks about whether or not Colby crossed the line. I think we've realized at this point there is no line that really can be crossed when it comes to fight promotion. And it has certainly helped this card pass the mom test, past the casual test, because I've gotten texts today from people I haven't talked to in three years about how they viewed this fight and whether

or not Colby is going to get his cupuppance today. So your thought on the build to this one throughout Fight Week, because over the last couple of weeks it's been either the Ian Gary's show or the polarizing booking of Tony Ferguson versus Patty Pimblit. It's almost like the main event didn't get a lot of headlines, but after Thursday, it seems like things have shifted a little bit. Your thoughts on what the last 48 hours have been like heading into this fight? Yes, I mean, you kind of said it. Like, it just feels like, I mean, how much further can anyone go at these press conferences? Like, you can't really, like, obviously anyone like with a respectable opinion knows that it, that what Kobe said is like,

he probably took it too far. It's kind of like a piece of shit. thing to say to Leon, but like, you know, like, it's building up to a fight and, like, he's going to have to answer for what he said when it comes into the Octagon, and he's either going to back it up and he's going to win, or Leon's going to be able to shut him up. So I actually thought the buildup has been tremendous. I mean, it has people talking. It's like you said, people are hitting me up and they're just talking about how they, they can't wait to see this one. They either want to see Colby win because it's kind of this heel character that people love to hate, or they want to see him shut up. And, and, you know, and, you know, and, you can't

and see Leon retain the belt. So, like, I've liked the buildup. I couldn't imagine what that press conference would have looked like. Had Ian Gary been in attendance as well? I mean, he's still getting shots. He's catching strays even by not being there. So, yeah, I mean, like, this is... We've had great cards all throughout this year,

but, man, it's just, like, all day. It's, like, been sitting in my back pocket. Like, that I'm just like, oh, these fights are going to be so sick tonight. Oh, these fights are going to be so sick tonight. Can't wait for these fights. And that doesn't always happen. Like sometimes there's paperview cards where you're like, yeah, I'm hyped for the fights tonight,

but you're kind of like, they're going to come when they come. Now it's just like, I cannot wait for these fights to start, and now we're here. I mean, all five of these fights I can't wait for. Made event, it's just going to feel like the energy in that arena is just going to be palpable. I mean, you could even see it at the ceremony of Wayans yesterday. Like, this is an intense, this is a high-level intense stuff, man.

Absolutely, absolutely. Do you remember how we felt? Do you remember how he felt a year ago when we lost Yuri versus, Glover 2. Oh my God. And then we got a draw. We got Patty versus Jared Gordon. Patty getting the scorecards over Jared Gordon. We get the draw on the main event. Like I did not feel the same way. I was like, okay, we got fights and that'll be fun. Oh God. But not like this. I mean, nowhere near this. This is completely different.

Now we always have to say, like, the fights still have to happen. Like, sometimes they don't always deliver, but like the potential for this to be an incredible main card is very, very high. And there is a very real chance that this main event is not fun to watch. Like, there is a very real chance that happens. But either way, I think just the emotion behind it, the follow of that main event is going to be really interesting too, because where does this all go? Like, at the end of the night, we're going to have a little bit of clarity because I feel like this division has done nothing this year. Yeah.

Since Leon beat Oosman, we had Bilal fight Gilbert Burns on short notice in a fight that made absolutely no sense to book in May. and now, like, that's the last significant thing that has happened at 170 for the rest of the year. Now, finally, we come out of this. We got Schofcott fighting, Stephen Wonderboy Thompson, who, by the way, Colby ain't getting walked to the ring by Donald Trump, but Stephen Wonderboy Thompson's getting up to the ring by Tenacious D. I mean, you got Jack Black in the building, you got Tenacious D. Energy seems great. Stephen Wonderboy Thompson's locker room, like the videos that we've seen, like they seem high energy,

they seem like they're positive going into it, very tough matchup against. an undefeated guy who has 17 wins, 17 finishes is like an Uber prospect. If you even can call him a prospect at this point, he's a top five welterweight fighter. So yeah, I mean, what more do you want from this card? Then you got the flyweight championship between two like all action fighters. Like it's just like a match made in heaven for people that enjoy the flyweight division. Patty Pimblet, Cornrow Patty Pimbleau. Got the braids in.

Oh, he does? Oh, yeah, you haven't seen. He's not knowing mom. He's not going mop. Wow. He's got the hair braided up. Obviously, going against Tony Ferguson. We got David Goggins in the corner for Tony Ferguson.

Patty Pimble had already made note to talk shit to David Gaggans. And then we start with Bryce Mitchell coming in on short notice to take on Josh Emmett. It's got to be a good time. Oh, yeah. It's got to be a good time. Frank, what fight are you looking forward to the most? Honestly, the main event. That's the one.
