This is the UFC 299. Let's go, everybody. Welcome to the UFC 299 watch party. And I guess welcome to Miami, because that's sort of the theme here. Because that's what the UFC is right now. We go from Saudi Arabia yesterday all the way back over to Miami. It's good to be back in the States.

in the first three minutes of this fight. All right. So I love to see him dominating like this. But what made me fall in love with him, what got me to the dance with Jelten Almeida was just like the pure domination and the finishes. If this is a fight where, you know, he racks up 13 minutes control time, that'll be tough. That'll be tough.

Yeah. But not a lot of people saw this coming. They thought, well, he can't take... Oh, this is striking. Oh, Jeth, with the overhand, right. He's chucking him. All right. This is what Curtis wants.

This is what Curtis wants. wants. Oh, man. Nice little jab from Curtis, and we're back to going for the takedowns. And he's got it. Oh, some. Oh, some heavy stuff. This can't be good for Jailton.

uppercut that kind of flattened him out. Oh, okay. Right here. Boom, you see that? You landed the short upper cut. I need to see that from a different angle. It's a bad angle. All right, show the other angle. Show the other angle he had. All right, this is it. Watch. Here we go. So he's going to shoot. Watch this little uppercut. Oh, okay, with the left hand? Yeah. And he was just holding on for dear life at that point. But, man, after a trip, he had nine takedons on the first round. Yeah, wow. Wow. Wow. Curtis Blades, going to get a big win,

That was crazy. The Despain performance. I mean, I cannot wait for that dude to get back into the Octagon. I mean, this is a huge win for Curtis Blades. Joanne Wood. Joanne Wood. Wow, yeah, retirement fight. That spinning back fist was nasty.

man, Pedro Munoz just like, he just couldn't get it going. Yeah, he couldn't get close to him. He just stayed at range and Kyler Phillips just moved around a whole bunch and... They said it during that fight. It's going to be crazy that Pedro Munoz isn't going to be ranked anymore at 135. What was he ranked heading into this fight? I bet he's still ranked. 13th.

He was 13th? Yeah. Who's 15 right now? I bet he's still in there. I think Ricky Simone kind of gets the... I feel like they rank Kyler Phillips and they... They'll rank Kyler. And they push Pedro out.

Cool, man. Frank knows exactly what to find right now. This is so funny. I'm very much looking forward to this. Speaking of things I'm looking forward to, the main card of the... UFC 299. Oh my God, man. Let's just talk about all the storylines involved here. Let's start right at the top.

This card is so good that Sean O'Malley versus Marlon Vera is like, it's the co-main event in my eyes. Like, I love Dustin Portia Ben-Wassantini so much that that's like, that's my fight. That's my main event. It's impossible for that one to be bad for me. It's so good. And then we get Sean O'Malley versus Marlon Vera, which has been kind of interesting this week because Sean has been, very popular, pretty much everywhere he's gone. During the Boston fight week, it was the Sean O'Malley show in Boston. It was like he was from Boston, the amount of support he was getting. And you kind of would think, like, going to Miami, there was a reason to have Sean O'Malley go to Miami.

Maybe he's going to be super popular there. Turns out, it is the Cheeto Vera show in Miami, and the Ecuadorians have traveled in droves. Someone tagged us in a photo on Twitter of just people outside of the venue just Ecuadorian fans, Marlon Vera support, like, I mean, dozens and dozens super early waiting to get in. A lot of fan support for Marlon Vera, a lot of story attached with the first fight, and now this is the rematch all these years in the making. What are we thinking here? This is a very interesting fight that could go a number of different ways. Yeah, so I actually got tagged in a couple things that you mentioned.

Like, there were guys at a bar doing Ecuadorian chance beforehand, all wearing the yellow, red, and red. blue, and then the video that we got tagged in, I mean, it looked like they were getting ready to take over the Kasea Center. I think that's how you can ask. The Kesea Center down in, I mean, we just call it American Airlines down in Miami, which is incredible. I mean, there's just something special when fans of a guy from their home country, because this would be the first Ecuadorian UFC champion, if I'm not mistaken.

I mean, that feels like a layup there. So the fact that we're going to have, like, essentially like a hometown crowd for Marlon Chido Vera in the form of the Ecuadorian fans is going to be incredible. Everything on the line, you know, obviously, Chito's still pretty young and he's a popular fighter and he's very talented, but when would he get another shot again if he lost this? Yeah, probably not happening anytime soon unless it's... It feels like he, if he's going to win it, he needs to capitalize on this tonight. He'd like Rob Font to become the Bannamway champion.

Which I would... We love Rob Font. So our guy, I think he's further away from the Bannonweight title than Cheeto Vera would be. But, you know, the UFC likes to build things up, you know. It'd be 1-1. There is room for a rubber match. If it's a split decision, do you think there should be a rematch? If it's a good fight.

Okay. All right, so you're saying if it's just an all-out war. Yeah, everything's on the table. I think whoever wins needs to fight Marab. For sure. but we also have to prepare ourselves to live in a world where if Marlon Vera beat Sean O'Malley that they might just run it right back

like they could very well do that Okay so you're saying like with a Cheeto Vera win Hey but then it'd be too oh I know but still Then it'd be too oh I don't know man I don't know CFC This thing is done this is like a humongous gate that they've drawn

Yeah it's like I think it's like the fourth biggest gates They've ever drawn How much do you think is solely on Sean O'Malley and how much do you think is on just a massiveness of this card? I mean, I think just the UFC being there is a huge part of it. Throwing Sean and Cheeto on there is a big part of it. And then you had Dustin Porre who trains at ATT. That helps as well.

I mean, they're just, they're red hot right now. They're on fire. It really does. It just feels like they can do no wrong when it comes to these pay-per-views. Yeah. I mean, people are dumping on UFC. 300 because of the main event, which is a like I think UFC 300 is better than 299.

I agree. I agree. I think without a doubt it is. Like this card is really, it's really amazing. But like, if you just go down and you look at the list of fights on UFC 300, I just think it's better. So I've asked pretty much everybody on staff this question, so I'll ask you. Obviously, we got the main event.

We got the co-main event, which rules. Yeah. We got Kevin Hall and Michael Page, which is super intriguing. We got Gilbert Burns, Jack Della, Madelana, which is super intriguing. Plus, you obviously are a big JDM guy. And then Piotrion versus Song Yidong, tons of storylines attached to that.

So if you could only watch the main, the co-main event, and one other fight on this main card, what's the third? Pioreon, Songyong, no question it's asked. But to see if Yon can turn it around? To see the fight itself, because, I mean, I really think

they're just going to box it up. I think it's just going to be sick. Both these dudes are tough. They're durable. They're just nasty boxing. They're technical. I think it's just going to be a sick fight. I'm not off of the Piotr Yon is one of the best band-in-weight in the world's trains,

just because he's lost three in a row. I mean, the people that he's losing to are former champ, Al Jemmaud Jemann, Sterling, current champion, Shugashana Mali, and next in line for the title, Marad de Valshvili. And really, the only one that he convincingly lost was the Marad de Voschvili fight. And that's just not a good stylistic matchup for Piotr Yon. Or anybody else. I was just about to say, I don't think Marad de Val Shvalliolioli.

is a good stylistic matchup for anyone. But I still think Fyodor is one of the best band of weights in the world. I think Song and Dong, if he wins, he'll be, this will catapult this dude into the top five. You know, really have a male Chinese star

potentially on our hands. Like he dresses well. He does the part on socials. He's learning English. So, I mean, there's a lot at stake in this one. If you're young, you can't lose four in a row. No. He was four in a row.

You're never getting back to the belt, in my opinion. I completely do. And I'm not even sure if he's ever going to get back. to the belt at this point, but it starts tonight. If you lose tonight, then there's just, it's never going to happen. If he wins, he's in play.

Especially if Marab wins the belt. For a guy that like, two years ago, two years ago, people were like, this guy is undoubtedly the best bantam weight in the world and maybe the pound for pound number one fighter. And now we're looking down the barrel of four in a row and like,

you're talking about Piora on being like the eighth ranked bantam weight in the world, nonetheless, pound for pound number one. There's just so much stakes. JDM, obviously, I think that's going to be a great flight. When he gets into a boxing flow, it's really a thing of beauty, but there's a world where Doreno negates that. And if we see Doreno go off with the BJGA, that could be sick, too.

And then Kevin Hall and Michael Page is fantastic as well. I'm really curious to see MVP's debut in the UFC. That's going to be incredible. Getting a ranked opponent, too. Who is the most to lose on the main card? Like, I know Sean O'Malley's kind of an easy answer because he's the only one defending a title, who has the most to lose?

I think Peter Yan does. Okay. I think Peter Yan does. If he wins, it's like, especially if he wins in like convincing fashion and he looks great doing it, then it's just like, this guy ain't done yet. He's the top five bandamoy for a reason.

He will continue to hang around this top level. You can give him a great matchup from here. But if he loses, then it's just like, like, yeah, you know. Because then now next. then it's just like, what if he loses five in a row? Wow. I mean, it can't really get ugly. So they're showing the main eventers walking in.

Jason Howlitz with the back there? Of course. Luke Rockhold back there as well. Oh, yeah. Is A.B. Is A.B. walking back there with him? Good old Action Bronson? I know he's got to be there.

I know he's in Miami. I saw a story where he's in Miami. Look at the fans, bro. Actually, actually, we know we're action bruntz. Bronson is. He's sitting in his seat. He's been there since Prelim 1. Yeah. He's been there since Joanne Wood versus Marina Moros. Good. And that's how it should be.

Look at the graphics. Dude, the graphics team for this promotion are just unbelievable. The custom Miami and the Golden Black, and they do it for every city and they do it so well. Sean walked in, booze, but mostly just kind of silence. And then they showed Marlon Verra with the smile on his face

and the place absolutely exploded. Absolutely exploded. Does Marlon Rivera have the most to lose? on this card? Because then I'll have a loss to Corey Sanhagen and a loss to Sean O'Malley. And I don't imagine

they're going to go back to it if Sean O'Malley wins. I don't know. Got a loss to Song Yidong, too. Sure does. He sure does. Who could be a top five band and way come Monday. In a weird one.

In a weird one. One that I thought my own won. Who do you think has the most to lose on the main card? I, man. I mean, Vera's definitely up there because, I mean, if Sean wasn't the champion, he's not getting a title fight.

Yeah. It's not happening. So it's tough because you could say Dustin Poirier. I was going to say if Porier gets put out or choked out bad. But what is he really losing? He's just never fighting for the belt again. Like it's done. It's done.

And the fact that he's still in play at this point is unbelievable anyways. After getting head kick-a-ed by Justin Gaichi. But I think you can make... Two finishes in a row would be tough to watch for DPA. So this is a weird thing to say. Say it. I think you can make a case that the guy who is the most to gain and the most to lose is the same fighter.

MVP. MVP. Yeah. I don't think that's a bad choice. If he wins, they are going to strap the rockets to this man. There's no doubt about it. If he wins in emphatic fashion, too. Yeah.

If he gets a highlight reel, if he gets a highlight reel, Balamah, he ain't fighting for the title next. I can tell you that right now. going to go right to MVP versus Leon. You think so. 100%. 100%. There is not even one doubt in your mind.

He beats Kevin Holland tonight. No, no, no. He's getting a title shot? Not saying that. If he beats Kevin Holland, he is, if he just beats Kevin Holland tonight, they're going to sit in that matchmaker meeting on Tuesday, and they're going to have a very hard discussion about whether or not MVP, they should just go right with MVP. So you're saying Michael Chandleroff.

If he goes out there and highlight Reels Kevin Holland and finishes him, he's getting the title shot. and it's, I hate the fact that I have to say this, but this is like, I'm not as sold as you. I'm not as old as you. Dude, they're going to go back to England. They're going to do a big, huge card, and they're going to have Leon fight Michael Venompage. Michael Venom Page is not 22 years old. I mean, of course he's not.

He's 35. Yeah, he's about turned 36. About turn 36. So, like, if you're going to do it, like, you just have to strap the rockets. Or is he 36 about turn 37. Yeah, I mean, even so. I think he's, I think he's going up there. I mean, if he just goes out wins the way I think he's.

think he's going to win. It's 50-50 for me. To me, a win does not get him a title shot. Yeah, it's, I think he's still in the conversation just because of, I really, I actually think he has to put on like an emphatic performance just to get in the conversation. But if he loses, like, if he loses, I'm not going to say, the experiment is over. What if he gets put out cold? It's real bad.

It's real bad. He just becomes like, either fun fight. guy or let's build new talent off of his name guy you know how many what I mean? Wonder how many fights his contract is for? I mean they're signed

most of these contracts are like eight fights now. I don't know if he signed an eight fight deal. But no less than four I can say there's no... I will agree with you. I think if he goes out there and he puts on a highlight reel on Kevin Holland then he could be in the conversation. If he does a freaking, if he knocks out Kevin Holland does a freaking Pokemon dance

over him, like he's getting He's getting the title fight. Like, Dana White is going to go, and Dana White is going to be asked about the wealth away to picture. Of course, yeah. If Michael Bennett delivers a performance. Oh, no doubt, no doubt.

He is not going to come out here. He's certainly not going to say Blow Mohammed's getting the next shot. Do we know what Dan Hooker was ranked when Michael Chandler beat him? He was like eight, seven or eight. So still like it, you know. But Chandler did it all, man.

He did it all. He knocked him out. He does the backflip off the cage. He kind of. It's the promo of the lifetime. But it's just so... There was also a vacant title at the time, correct? I don't know if it was vacant yet.

Oh, maybe it was. Yeah, it was. Yeah, I'm not... I don't remember. I don't remember. Let's assess it after it after the performance of MVP on whether or not he's going to get a title shot. MVP's in play if he wins this fight.

I don't... I think if he goes out there and wins a decision, he's not at all. Yeah, if it's a not compelling fight and he wins a decision. 3027, then no way. There's no way he's getting a type of shot off the back, but I think Kevin Holland is like rank number 13.
