The Brick City beat down going down right now. UFC 302. Welcome to the M.A. Fighting Watch Party here on the M.A. fighting YouTube channel. I am Mike Heck. That is the legend G.C. Connor Burks. We got a fight going on right now. We got a fight, a good fight, man.

Coppilov looked great in the first round. Al-Meda, giving them a little of something here in the second. I feel like we're going to crescendo into this main card. I feel like we kind of had a couple, you know, less exciting fights on our way to the main card. It feels like these things are starting to heat up. Just got a first-round finish from Jelton Al-Meda, as, you know, I expect to try to tell everyone.

But, yeah, it feels like we're heating up. I feel like this main card is about to be real fun. Not a lot of people felt that getting to the final prelim heading into the pay-per-view, that the fight of the night would be Mickey's. Gall versus Bazzol-Hadhaffes. Which is a great one, man. The chin on Mickey Gall. Big takedown for Coppola.

He's only, like, Coppulov's been really just doing the takedowns just to give him something to think about. Yeah. But he's having so much success. I mean, there's just no, I mean, he stuffed a couple I'll made it did in this round, but I mean, like, next to no resistance throughout that entire first round. Yeah, so we're about a minute 38 left here in round number two. Looks like Coppulov about to go up two rounds to none.

and then we head on over to the pay-per-view portion of the festivities, and it's all going to get capped off with the lightweight title on the line, Islam Makachev versus Dustin Pori. And the question we've been asking all along, since this fight was booked, kind of capping off with the Cody Road story at WrestleMania, can Dustin Porier finish his story? And this is just, we'll talk more about it, but the vibes are all with Dustin Porreier.

everybody as a sort of community just wants the feel good moment. They want the MMA gods to smile upon them. I just have a hard time getting there, man. This is just one of those weird ones where I'm just don't see it. Like I saw Sean Strickland winning by the time we got to the fight

beating Izzy. But this one, I just don't see a lot of clear paths unless Islam just doesn't show up tonight. Yeah, I mean, I think the biggest way is he's going to have to catch him on the feet. I feel like that's the most likely route to him getting his hand raised. You say the vibes, I feel like everyone just wants it to happen,

and that's why we're saying the vibes are like that. Because, I don't know, man. Islam looks as good as ever, 13-fight win streak. It just doesn't feel like the train is going to get derailed tonight, but it's a fight and anything can happen. Yeah, just all the connections to Lafayette Street where this arena is actually on. Like all these little things.

Oh, yes, yes, yes, I do like that. where he's like, I want to fight till him 35. Now he's 35. One thing left to accomplish. God, I did. I did go and watch that this week. First time I'd ever seen it. So I was under the impression that it was like about a bunch of different fighters.

But it's really just about the two fighters. Porriere and Allen, I believe, his name was. And like, he kind of falls off throughout the dock. And it's essentially just all about Portia. Oh, yeah. It's unbelievable. I just can't believe. I can't believe that they got that all on tape.

It's insane to go back and watch. I'm so fascinated by it and I'm not allowing myself to get there just yet like even think about what a reaction would be or like what this would all mean but I'm just trying not even I'm trying not even to think it I've had multiple people hit me up today

and ask me like what I think of for betting purpose what I think of the fight I'm like I'm cheering for Dustin Porier do I think it's gonna happen I don't know I don't know this is a tall task it would be this would be one of the top five most shocking moments.

If you go back and watch the first round of that BSD fight, like it looked, it looked dicey, man. It didn't look good for Dustin, especially when they got to the ground. And I imagine that Islam is going to look to take this fight to the ground. And I also just feel there is a level between BSD. I know he looked so good going into that fight, but I just believe there is a level between BSD

and Islam Makashab, obviously. Man, this is just, it's all to ask. This is tough, man. We're going to be supporting, though. We're going to be supporting, but... I mean, it could be the final fight of his career. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. This is, you know, I got the Porreis floral on.

You got the Porreier. Yeah, I got the Gile. I think that's the one thing that, like, there's just zero chance that happens. There's no way he's actually going to gilliam. We're in round. It's been a great joke leading up to the game. Oh, yeah.

And Porre is just leaning right into it. Oh, yeah. Right things. Let's see if Almeida can come back and get a finish here, because I think he's probably down two rounds. as we're 10 minutes away from the paper view. I feel like we're just waiting on Coppulov to get a takedown here. Yeah.

I mean, Alameda's looking good on the feet now. Oh, good knee. Oh, wow, nice elbow, too. Oh, nice little right hand from Coppulov. I think Coppulap, like, needs to take him down at this point. Oh, nice right hand from Alameda. Oh, another nice one. It's saucy here.

Oh, nice right from Coppola. Take down and he's right down. This is so easy, man. There's just not even one ounce of takedown defense. That's four. I think, which I think his career high was one. Obviously, Almeida had a nice kickboxing career. It's only 5 in O MMA.

36. Yeah. If he sits here for four minutes, then it's just like... The deficiency is just so clear in his game. Yeah. I mean, I wonder how Jed Mishu is feeling about this because he felt like this could just be Koppilov taking him down the entire fight. But Koppilov has a knockdown.

He's striking with them a little bit. and there we go we're back and this is this is just him put it in a way it looks like let's see if Alameda could do something something get back to I mean it was really starting to have success

on the feet in those last in in the second and third round but I mean dude and he can't get up he was cracking him oh they might stand him up they might stand him up herb Dean's clapping

herb Dean is the most is maybe the most popular guy in Newark right now feels like every time me and that's on Your referee is Herb Dean. He's getting, like, standing ovations.

Yeah. Sixth Borough, shout out. About halfway through round three, Coppulov's still on top. Herb Dean is just standing there. Still not taking it. This is a great game plan from Roman Coppilov. But man, this is...

some of these fights have been tough. This one I wouldn't categorize this. No, no, there were some good moments on the feet in this one for sure, but man, this is, yeah, I mean, Coppola's doing what he has to do to win. Yeah, the first, the flyway fight, Andrelema and Mitch Raposo, not really what I expected. Thought it would be much more of a banger. Eileen Perez-Josselin Edwards, that was kind of fun. Perez had a spinning backfist knocked down in the fight.

Basil Fesbicki Gaul was awesome. some good scrap. I actually thought I was going to cash plus 300 in Mickey Gall. I thought he won that fight. Jake Matthews, Phil Rowe. Then we had Grant Dawson, Joe Selecki, Yowser. That was kind of a tough watch. And then Jelton's kind of saved us thus far. And

even then that was just kind of like a clinical, just like dumped him down, got to the back, went for a couple chokes, and then was able to lock the choke in. Wow, they're standing up. Standing ovation. Stand him up. 90 seconds for Lemae. Copy it looks tired. 90 seconds. Herb like really?

Oh, nice, uh, he's throwing. He's just, oh, and he goes right back for the takedown. Oh, this could get wild. Oh, wow. Right hand. He lands his takedown, right back down to the ground. That should do it, folks. The crowd doesn't like it.

I mean, I don't like it either. It's just like. You got to bet on Almeida? I mean, but that regardless, I don't love that you just sit in guard for three minutes and then as soon as you get back up. I mean, he's obviously fighting smart, but it just isn't... He's so tired. Yeah, I mean, it's just not exciting at all.

Final 50 seconds, this is a great... Roman Coppilov. Back in the wind column, five of his last six now? He's good, man. Obviously, I mean, Fluffy is a tough matchup. Fluffy's a tough matcher for everybody. Fluffy's supposed to fight on this card, which makes me sad to think about. Oh, yes.

Yeah. Just like Roman Coppuliffe. No, he was supposed to fight Roman Reuters. Roman Deleez, he just fought Roman Coppul. Oh yeah, fuck. I was going to the Romans, man. Just taking off. He won that one.

We managed to start calling him the Roman Empire over there, huh? Now he's inside control. This fights over. It should be 30, 27 for Mr. Coppulov. One finish in the whole prelims. Yeah, hopefully we're just banking them for this main card, man.

On this card Which one was that A judge scored the first fight for Mitch Raposo, 29-28. Listen, I'm a New England homer. I always support New England. Big Boston sports guy.

Happy for Mitch Raposo. Been following his career a long time. But he did not win that fight. He may have won maybe round two, but you'd have to really sell me on it. But someone actually scoring that fight for Mitcherposo is probably the worst card I've seen in years. Let's see what they do here.

I mean, this should be cleaning. tight. Yeah, it should be 3.27. I mean, Roman Coppilov, give him some credit. Like, he doesn't really go for takedowns ever. Yeah. And he knew that would be the best game plan to get this one done, and he followed the gameplay.

I mean, there's the few cities in America better than old Newark, New Jersey. Yes. It's come along. That's what they say. They say it's coming. You catch Newark on a nice early December day, like 31 degrees out, complete overcast. There's few places better on this, not just in America, but on this planet we call Earth. I'm telling you, I am telling you, there's something about it.

So when people say Newark has come a long way, it's the same old Newark, do you think? Yeah, I mean, where'd we start at? I don't know. I mean, it's Norfolk. Oh, man. Yeah, it was tough. I had to stand in line just to, like, check in with my phone just to get my bag tag or whatever. That's when you know you're in for a bad day. It was like an hour and 15 minutes. And it's just, like, so crazy because you just got no idea what the vibes are going to be, like, at an airport until right when you pull in.

And once you pull in. And once you're, walk into that terminal, you know if it's either going to be an easy day or, oh, God, I may have got, I may, I should have gotten here earlier. I got there 4.30 in the morning. I got there, I found a parking spot. I was like, this is going to be simple. Like, there's never once that I've gone to that airport where I've had to wait between going to the, to, like, where I need to go to check the bag, through security, it is never taking me more than 15 minutes. Wow. It took me an hour and 15 just to get to the front of the line.

Oh, my God. The nice people at the airport saw how stressed I was, and they were like, is your flight boarding? I'm like, yep, just got the text. And they were like, go. And they all let me all let me through. They let me cut the line. Thank God. I didn't even ask them.

It was great of them. Thank God. And then I go into security and all that stuff. And of course, they get the backpack, microphones in there. They pull it off to the side. Oh, you don't need to church that. As that is, and I'm telling, I'm like, it's a micro, phone. I promise you it's a microphone. Oh, we still got to check. Yeah, that might be the most, like, alarming thing for TSA. You're just trying to talk it down. It's just a buck knife. Like, please, just let me go. And then as this is happening, as I see the bag getting taken away, final boarding call for passenger Michael Hack. I was like, I would be losing it. I would be wringing my hands, man. And then they took the back, they searched it, then they took the bank and they ran it through again. Oh, no. And then at the end, I grabbed it.

Put my shoes on, sprinted. And it was the last gate in the entire building. Oh. I swear that's Murphy's law. I'm running through the star. Like people at the Starbucks line are just watching me sprint. Oh, I love it. With two bags.

And I get to the end and I see the Delta woman like hand on the door. And she sees me running and she's laughing. Oh, yeah. She's like, you're going to make it. Like once you can see her, you're going to make it. And she's like, oh, he made it with like, she goes two minutes to spare. Oh my God. Oh, thank God.

I had a very similar story. When we went to Dallas for the Jake Paul fight, got there early, but it took so long to get through security. It was getting to the point where I thought I was going to miss my flight, get through security, and it pauses at that thing where it can either go to get searched or go straight. And everyone knew I was about to miss my flight, and they're all watching this. And we're like staring at it with bated breath. And I tell everyone around me, I'm like, y'all, if that bag goes to the right,

I am missing this flight for sure. It goes straight. Everyone's like, yes, yes. I like throw on the shoes so fast, take off. I'm at like gate A23 or something, and it's like, gate 26, 25, 24. I'm just like, all right, sweet 23. And then it's just like, you turn the hall, end of the terminal, A23. I'm like, no, hike up my pants.

I just take off sprinting like you, barely make it. Get on the plane. They gave up my like aisle seat on like row 15. Move me all the way to the back by the bathroom in the middle. I'm like, whatever, I'm on the plane. That's all the matters. I sit down. I am dying.

It's August. I'm so thirsty. I go grab the water bottle to get. some water. I'm like, oh, forgot that you have to dump it all out at TSA. I am as thirsty as you can. I start coughing. My eyes are watering on it. It was just like, it was hell on earth, too. It was so bad. It's crazy. My wife always tells, like, when we started doing these, because I always, I always check a bag. My wife's like, why are you checking a bag for one day? I'm like, I'm a big bag checker. Yeah, I was like, there's going to come a time where you're going to

be like, ah, I get it. And there was one random one. I forget which one. It was after the Volkinovsky-Yair car, 290, where all the flights got delayed for a day.
