MMA Fighting - UFC Abu Dhabi Post-Fight Show | REACTION To Magomed Ankalaev Getting Stoppage In Lackluster Headliner
Episode Date: July 25, 2026Magomed Ankalaev got back in the win column in his first fight since losing the UFC light heavyweight title, but it wasn’t the most memorable performance in recent memory in the main event of UFC Ab...u Dhabi. Following the win, should Ankalaev get another crack at the title when Carlos Ulberg is ready to return, or does Ankalaev have more work to do? Following the UFC’s most recent Fight Night event, MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck and Jed Meshew react to the card, Ankalaev’s victory in the lackluster main event against Bogdan Guskov, and where he goes in a weird light heavyweight division. Additionally, they react to Ramazan Temirov’s brutal knockout victory against Steve Erceg in the flyweight co-main event, Magomed Zaynukov’s successful UFC debut and his ceiling at lightweight, and much more. media podcast network.
Those are the victory horns.
And they sound, I would say, somewhat
for the former UFC light heavyweight champion,
Magabana Akhalyaf, who,
yes, he got the finish.
It took a long time.
And whether you want to blame Ancalaia,
if you want to blame Bogdan Gusoff,
I think both deserve a little bit of blame.
It took a really long time to get there.
It seemed like that fight took two and a half days
to go down.
but that capped off UFC Abu Dhabi.
There's a lot of news and notes coming from this card that we'll get into.
So let's get right into it.
No time to waste 308 p.m. Eastern time.
We already have a UFC wrapped and packed.
And joining me, I'm Mike Eck, by the way, to unpack this roller coaster ride that was UFC Abu Dhabi,
Mr. No Gray area himself, the one and only, Jed Michoud.
Hi, Jed, how we feeling?
But you said it took two and a half hours to get to the fight.
That fight took seven hours.
It was, can we agree, worst fight of the year?
Right?
Like, that's got to be worst fight of the year.
I mean, I don't know.
I mean, considering like this thing.
MVP was only 15 minutes.
That was bad.
What was the other really bad UFC London fight?
The heavyweight fight?
The heavyweight tie fight that that one, there were two really bad heavyweight fights.
But again, those are 15 minutes.
This was 20 minutes of mostly nothing.
This is pretty bad.
I want to read something for the people since if you weren't, a lot of you here
are probably watching the fight, but I want to read this little blurb from Jed's
live blog.
I think this is after round two, maybe round three, or during round two or three.
The thing is round three.
But a quote, I don't know.
They all blur together.
Quote, the crowd is booing.
On the one hand, they should.
This is an affront to human.
indecency and there is no other hand the only hands in this fight are the ones i'm typing with because
uncle i've and goose gov don't seem to be aware they have hands they're jogging around in circles
staring at each other like some mystic courtship ritual uncle i've kicks them pretends to punch
but is it really pretending if your heart isn't in it he lands a left hand but it must have been an
accident surely he wasn't trying to hurt goose goof that could not be
be the case. The crowd is extremely loud
in a very negative way. I hope
that gives them some sense of joy because
watching this quote unquote fight surely is
not. This is
live blogging at its
best, Jed. This is incredible stuff.
I think it's my best
live blog. I honestly
do because like the first round I did
like a real live blog because it was like
all right. It was the first like it's slow.
And then when it became very apparent that this was just
it, I was like, well, I'm going to
to just start, I'm going to start having fun because I got to find a way to enjoy this
into the next three rounds. I had a really, I was really prepared. I, like, in my head, I knew
what I was going to start the fifth round with. But then Uncle, I have immediately tackled him.
I was like, I think he's going to finish him. So I don't get to really do it. And I had to sort of
backtrack. But I was just like, you know, what the hell was that, man? It was a terrible fight.
A lot of back and forth on Twitter.
A lot of people are like, oh, it's Uncle I've fault.
Other people are saying, no, it's, I mean, it's kind of his fault, but it's mostly
Goosekhov's fault for not engaging.
Does anyone get the lion's share of the blame here?
Or is this just two dudes who just didn't do the thing today?
My policy has always been the way the, like this is not the first bad fight, but every bad
fight people say this, right?
It's like, well, one guy won and the other guy blaming on the guy who lost
and should have done more.
It's like, yes, but here's the thing.
That guy lost.
So he's already punished for this.
His punishment is that he lost.
Uncle Yov needs to be punished for that.
That was an abomination.
And like, he could have just, like, he could have did.
The fourth and fifth rounds weren't that bad because he was just like, I'll tackle him.
He could have at least just started.
doing that. It would have been fine, but instead he did the big,
odd thing where he was like, I will just slowly kickbox you not to death,
but to boredom. And I will occasionally punch you because you forget that we're
fighting because nothing is happening. It was, it was a dreadful watch, Mike.
And for Uncle I of, again, like, if you want to blame Bogd and Goosekov,
okay, you and I just go about the world differently, but you're not wrong for blaming
Bogdan Goosecoff for this, right? Like, that's,
fine. But like, Barna Gouskov changed opponents on a week's notice. You know, like I'm willing
to give him a little more credence. Yes, Uncle Yav did as well, but Uncle Yves' whole thing has been
trying to get back to the title, I'm the guy, and then you just lay this egg. It's just like,
Bargene Gustav, that's probably genuinely the worst performance of the year. So if you want
to rip him for that, feel free. My takeaway from this fight is not Bogdan Guskov sucks, because he lost,
I don't have to think about it.
It's, dude, the UFC's never going to let this man fight for a title if this is the performance he puts on.
They don't, like, then he would have the belt.
They don't want that.
They don't want the last fight of fight night cards to end this crappy.
They super don't want paper views to end like this.
So I don't think he's fighting for the belt next.
Like, Merritt says he should, absolutely.
But, like, he just, you can't do that, man.
you gotta, you gotta be better.
This was about as good of a matchup as he could have asked for here on short notice.
This was, this was, this is an opportunity for him to shine.
Like, it really was.
Like, no one thought Bogdegov was going to win.
Nobody.
We thought, I thought, Magamay was going to like 10, ate him twice and then finish him the third.
Like, that's how confident I was in, in this performance, but in this matchmaking.
But, golly, man, he ain't get a title fight after this.
way. They just had Carlos Oldberg talking to
Charlie Arnold and he was like, yeah,
congratulations, Uncle Lyfe. And then she was like, what did you
think of the fight? He's like, I'll just kind of keep my opinion
to myself. I was like, you can just
say the thing that everybody else is saying
right now. Like, this just
wasn't great.
Just like, I don't, I don't know
what they do.
Like, I think Goldberg gets to keep the belt
now. They're not going to strip him.
Or like, they weren't going to strip him.
They're not going to strip him, but he chooses to vacate.
like he's just going to get to hold the belt because there's nobody else to have the fucking thing
could we do i actually thought this as well was paula cost of the biggest winner tonight
probably he's probably fucking for the bell next because there's no one else there's nothing else to do
do an interim title fight no they don't they'll just wait like why there's no rush there's no contenders
like because even like theoretically navajo sterling could become one oops he's training porters
with Olberg so that he's not a contender even if he
like runs over
Jan Bolovic next weekend.
Like it's just
it is
I talked about this on morning combat
this week. I didn't realize
until heading into this event like how dire
the 205 situation is.
It is catastrophic.
It's the worst it's ever been.
Like the way class is
poets, we all talked about how Poetan was
like keeping the division afloat.
But then once he left like it really
just became the most
parent to me of like, oh no, that wasn't like idle chatter. That was just real. There's
nothing in this weight class right now. Uncle is probably the best guy. Like, in terms of,
if you just put them all and have him fight each other around Robin, he probably wins them all.
And you can't, you cannot put a belt back on that dude. You simply can't do it. Like,
that's, you genuinely would be better served by just tanking the division for like five years.
just sending it on the lightweight hiatus.
But actually we've closed 205.
It's closed for repairs.
Maintenance underway.
We'll reopen next summer or whatever.
Like just because you can't put that dude with the belt.
It is.
And the fact that Paul Costa probably is going to get it
and is the only hope that it might be kind of fun.
Man, this way costs and shambles, dude.
I think Paul is extremely thrilled with how this turned up.
Either way, he's getting a huge fight next.
either fighting Oldberg. Does he want to wait till May or June of next year to fight Oldberg?
I don't know if he wants to do that. Could there be an in case of emergency interim title fight?
Do Costa Shmaev? Do Costa Yerri? Costa Roundtree? I mean, I don't know if you could do Roundtree,
but I mean, all those guys are coming off losses. So Costa, somebody, I don't know, I don't know what to do here.
But either way, this is a great, great night for Paula Costa.
A great day for Paula Costa.
Not a great day for Maggot Enkalive.
Yes, he did win, but he's definitely
you have to fight once, maybe twice more,
before even start talking title fight.
And Boggs and Goosekoff could just be silly goose, goose off the rest of the way.
Like, he could just go fight a bunch of silly goooses.
He can go fight Khalil Roundtree,
and they can just beat the shit out of each other.
And that's just fun for everybody.
I think there's a genealike,
I don't know how many fights are on Uncle Live's contract.
But, like, if he has two fights on his contract,
or like he had two coming into this.
He's got one left.
I don't know what his deal is.
If he's got like less than five fights,
man, they might just fight him out.
They might just be like,
all right, we'll book you a couple,
and then you can ply your trade elsewhere.
Like, it is.
This was horrible.
Like, this is the least fun I've had watching a fight.
It is hard to, this isn't, like,
this wasn't as bad as Rose.
Carla too,
which I think is the worst fight of all time.
But, well, the worst UFC fight of all time.
There's some really old prize that are just truly wretched,
but like this is really up there.
This is, in my opinion, the worst fight of the year
and maybe the worst fight the last like couple of years.
This was a really, and I've been on Clive defender.
You have.
You know, because he's not always boring.
He can be fun.
I thought in this fight he would just tackle him early.
and finish him like, all right, that's fine.
Nope.
He waited until the fourth round to do it.
And yeah, I don't,
I'm very sad that I watched that.
Yeah, Anko's telling me that he got offered a heavyweight fight for the spot.
And they said it was someone who fought Volkovs.
I wonder if they were going to try to do Waldo in the spot.
That could have been really weird to watch if they did him in Waldo in the spade event spot.
But yeah, this is, I mean, it just kind of.
capped off a super weird event where
it was either like excellent good
or just awful to watch
the alley of Mike Davis fight was awful
I mean that was such a bad fight
Mike Davis like I don't agree with like all the
things he had to say about the
about the fight but he's just like
man
like I tried to fight him this dude did not want to fight me
and he outstruck him did everything he wanted to do
but he just got tackled and I don't know man it was just such a weird night
Ramazon Tamaroff was awesome though holy shit that dude just fun
yeah he just annihilated Steve first thing yeah what a performance from him
another member of the Mike heck fantasy flyway team who was drafted never fought and then
returned and got a bonus winning finish poor Vinnie siggs man he had just he got cracked
early tried to battle through and then just got
colded man. That was some sick
stuff from Ramadan Timorov.
Yeah, I thought
in this fight, I was like,
I just didn't know how Timorov would look off a long
layoff and we haven't seen him fight
that deep that often, but I was like
he's, he's really
live to just finish SIGs
in the first round because Erseg is
a slow starter.
He's not like,
he's not chinny, but he's not durable.
You know, like he's just, that's just
not one of the traits that he possesses.
And Timrov starts so fast.
I was like, slow starter, guy who starts fast,
if he might just run over Erseg.
Had Erseg been able to survive five minutes,
maybe leverage his much bigger size and cardio?
That was like the concern.
But nope, Timorov just kind of bombed on him until he went away.
Our kid's really good.
He is, I said two years ago or a year,
and whatever was 18 months ago on our shows, Mike.
flyweight's coming alive.
Like, they tried to kill this weight class, which was stupid at the time.
And now it looks so dumb because, like, all the best young talents are at flyweight right now, just all of them.
And it's pretty sick.
Like, we're going to get to see at some point tomorrow fight, Lonnie Kavanaugh and Josh Van and Tetsuotaira.
And the, who's the other Japanese kid who I can't remember right now?
Who's, like, 24 or something sick?
Like the division is coming alive and he's right in the think of it.
Yeah, just a sick division, man.
It's just a really sick division.
I really like we're seeing from Flyweight.
Other action, I'm sure he's going to get a bonus.
We'll wait and let you know when bonuses are.
I will be astonished if Timorov doesn't get a bonus.
Yeah.
It's probably Timorov and Walter Valker.
Maybe they go four, for four.
performances because like what would be the fight?
Maybe
Hussein Cody Gibson because that was kind of fun.
But it was like super early in the card.
Yeah, maybe they just give like Solo Patterson, Walker and Timorov bonuses.
Dude, sideoffs finish is sick too.
I think you got to give him a bonus.
I mean, he just, you could give him a bonus.
He 30-packed Justin Jacoby into a finit.
That dude, he was really impressive.
If we're talking about guys who like, I was like, oh, okay.
this guy was really impressive.
I don't know how impressed to be.
Like, certainly kind of good,
but I put a feed in our feeding frenzy.
I was like,
I don't know if he's good or if Jacobi's washed,
because Jacobi looked quite poor too.
And Jacobi's getting old.
Might just be the,
there might be a little both,
little column A,
little column B.
But, yeah,
he was,
again,
some of the undercard stuff,
we started the night really,
really bad,
got a little bit of momentum in the middle,
section with some fun things.
And then ended with the biggest turd of turds.
Can you offer us a grade on Chonko's UFC debut?
Beat a pretty good dude.
I wasn't like socks are still kind of on,
but I was impressed of them.
I'd say it's a solid B.
Solid B.
There's something there, no doubt about it.
Yeah, he's,
a little guy,
the Rebecca kid is,
decent and I was equally
as impressed with him because like we knew he was going to lose
but he was game the whole time and like
Cormier who's actually pretty good on commentary tonight
for the most part
talked in a couple of these other fights
particularly the one right before that Terrell Fortune
then like why did Fortune's corner
send him out there like and they shouldn't have
it's actually like huge there were two
really egregiously bad instances
of cornering tonight
or today whatever it's three in the afternoon
but like the rebecca one is that's like that's how you should do it like he was losing that fight
he was not going to win the fight but you shouldn't have called it like let him go out there and work
in the third because he was still actively fighting back and so I was impressed by his sort of
gameness and I don't think changa's fighting for a title I don't think chanko maybe he gets a ranking
because you can sort of manufacture that but a lightweight that is trickier honestly but
he just he looked like a fun fighter you know he scrapped he those elbows were sick like he's
obviously he has some level of talent he's too old to really be a prospect who is younger we'd be
like it'd be pretty excited about what he could be but that's not the case so we just got to have
some fun with him and he seems like a guy you can have fun with yeah 100% he gets the win
mentioned kuniev finished his taro fortune which is good for the jedd mischew fantasy train
uh... vajyev won there's just a stone cold robbery
me and Jose robbed people today with Ankleyev and Kuniev.
He's getting a full boat of points and just shameful.
Getting 200 points for that Kuniev win,
because I cannot imagine he's going to get a bonus.
But 200 points for that Kuniv win is just theft.
Jose is getting 225 for the Ankh because it's a main event.
Like theft.
Unbelievable.

Gregus, make time, wait.
Cip responsibly.
Walter Walker, just calf-slicing dudes,
just taking legs home with them.
This is, this is just so fun, man.
Like, he tried to heel hook him so, he tried so hard.
And shout out to Peterson,
he tried to crawl away, and then Walker, like a boa constrictor,
just slowly inched closer to him,
and then he grabbed the full waist lock,
locked on the calf slacer
and Peterson was just like,
okay, get me out of here,
I'm done five in a row
for Walter Walker.
But this is how the gimmick has to develop, right?
So we talked about this on the preview show.
I'm here to see him try and
he'll hook as many people in a row as he can
because that's a fun thing, right?
Like it's just a fun, you know,
it's a little piece of something that's different
and I'm for it.
But eventually people are just going to spend all their time
defending that.
Like, if Thomas Peterson
trained other things in his camp, he's
a moron and his coaches are stupid.
Like, they're just dumb. It all should have
been heel hook defense. And he
did. He rolled and tried, like, got his
knee out and scooted. But the next
thing after is like, oh, you've defended
the heel hook. Well, once you defend
to scoot out this way,
now I'll lock in this cab slicer.
And so maybe now
the next guy defends the heel
hooks differently. You know, instead of
Instead of turning and pushing out, he gets his knee clear and tries the butt scoot out.
And then we take variations off that.
It's a fun gimmick.
Genuinely, the funniest point of the evening was Walker's post-fight speech to me because he's like, I'm going to, I'm opening a gym.
I'm going to show you guys how to heel hook, how to take people's legs on.
And I was like, well, the start is you fight just terrible people because Walter Walker, you're not, you're not going to go heel hook.
Tom Aspinall.
But if you get to fight Donnell Mays
and Louis Sutherland and Thomas Peterson,
yeah, you can probably heal him.
At some point, I would like to see him
fight like a real opponent, but
keep the gimmick going until
we decide we have to do it.
Yes.
Is the mayor?
The mayor of ice is here
getting ice at the worst possible time.
Just a correction here, because the
broadcast had to correct themselves as well.
Walter Walker called out Cyril God. No, he did not
call out Cyril God.
The desk crew in the studio hated it.
They all wanted to call it Josh Hookett.
He didn't call it any fighter.
In fact, shout out to Garemei Cruz
who forced the broadcast team to correct themselves.
This is what Giermei Cruz translated for all of you.
I want Herb Dean.
He screwed over our Indian, meaning Alex Pereira,
in a cowardly way.
I'm going to get Herb Dean and do nothing but elbow the back of his head.
Man, fuck, he did our Indian dirty.
I'm going to get revenge.
I got my eye on him.
there you go calls out herb dean it was a great post-bite speech
yeah i think calling out hoke it would be stupid because hoakett
he's got no chance of getting the hookah just won't take it um
and like who else do you call now i actually think yeah i like
people want a bag on herb dean so jump on that bandwagon totally fine with it
they'll give him who's the worst heavyweight on the roster now
oh um what's his name max Jimenez no no uh
Who they just fought the other weekend. Hold on. Look at this.
The guy you said that Gable Steveson gets to fight now.
Oh, um.
RJ Harris or R.J. Harris.
Whichever one of them doesn't fight Gable Steven.
Walter Walker gets the heel hook. That's how that goes.
Give him Mouthen Heinz. At least Avon will be fun in the buildup.
He'll be an excellent dance partner in the build to that fight.
What else do we have on this?
That's the thing though, Mike.
heavyweight is dire also it's is trash division filled with trash fighters it doesn't like it at least has this like i dislike
josh hoak it that's a gimmick that's that's something you know like there is a thing to talk about he's also
winning a bunch of fights Walter Walker winning a bunch of fights he's got a gimmick going like heavyweight
has it is as bad of a weight class as a heavyweight but there are at least some things
too attached to light heavyweight has nothing uh we have bonuses oh my god you are not going to
believe this don't look please tell me risvan got one performance of the night temeroff walter walker
fight of the night rizvon coonia versus tyro fortune whoo hoohoo that's it's a highway robbery
Come on.
I thought for a minute you were going to pick the main event,
and I was just going to walk off air.
I was going to be like, I'm done.
Rizvan, baby.
What?
What?
I can't.
Look, that fight wasn't like.
You should share those poids with the rest of us.
That fight was not awful to watch, you know?
Like it just, but it wasn't, like, nobody would ever call that the fight of the night.
The first fight of the car was way better than that.
Dude, Vagayev is Magakav
is probably a better fight than Kuni have fortune.
Zanikov-Rbegis better because at least
one dude was getting hit a bunch.
Like, true fortune, his body quit on him immediately.
I would like to, I thought it was a really good piece of commentary
from Lorisanko, because I caught it.
And then every day, the broadcast moved past it,
but she circled it.
It was like, when Fortune came back to the stool after the first round,
he said he got the rib and maybe it's reading too much into it.
But like when I hear things like that,
the rib suggests to me, as Lorisango pointed out,
that he's probably that like maybe he had a rib injury entering this bout
as opposed to he cracked a rib or whatever.
And I would be interested to see if like that comes out.
If at any point Fortin's like,
Yeah, a week before I, you know, tore some cartilage in my ribs or whatever.
But he was cooked early.
And that fight should have been stopped before the third round.
Yeah, I mean, he's literally in the corner telling his coach, I can't breathe.
Yeah, he's like, I can't breathe because of my rib.
And they're like, go get him, Tiger.
He just to get the fight of the night off that row.
That's crazy.
We mentioned Bahamud Sait off, nasty finish of Dustin Jacoby, Sam Patterson,
just a sad finish of Santiago Ponsidio,
who should probably move on to a new hold.
Axel Sola.
I will say,
just very briefly on that,
I thought it was going to be sadder.
He should still be done.
We shouldn't do this anymore.
For two and a half minutes,
he looked okay,
and then it got sad,
but I thought it was going to be way worse.
So I'll take it.
If that's probably the best outcome
we could have hoped for in that fight.
Axel Sola, very exciting lightweight, taps this spell Bonfeme.
Bonfeme's probably done in the UFC, I would guess.
Magamad Tushalov hangs in there to beat Brensen-Rabara.
I think he was the biggest favorite on the card,
and not the type of performance you were hoping for from him.
Same with Nerulo Aliev, who defeats Mike Davis.
And a fight I was really looking forward to.
I was wondering, why is this fight the second fight on the card?
The UFC Brass apparently saw something that not a lot of us saw.
because that was definitely a second fight of the card kind of fight.
And then Abdul Hussein eventually submits Cody Gibson in a fight that was way more fun
and back and forth than I thought it was going to be.
That was a really good opener.
I would have probably picked that for fight of the night.
But Cody almost got him.
Almost got him in the first.
What an upset that would have been.
But Abdul Hussein gets the win.
So that's UFC Abu Dhabi.
We're off to Belgrade next week.
We do have some super chats.
Keep firing them in there.
Take some questions for a little bit.
We can take questions forever.
This boxing card is so...
I got two fights until the main event,
and they are not even pretending.
So three fights left, obviously.
The fourth fight ended when we started the show.
Like, as soon as you started, the guy,
I was like, oh, that guy's about to get knocked out.
He got knocked out like 20 seconds later.
And we have not started the walks for the feature bound of the evening.
God, these broadcasts are just...
This match.
This matchroom broadcast has been horribly paid, like the worst you could ever imagine.
So we can go forever because I don't think Anthony Josh who's ever fighting tonight.
The floundarian.
Keep up the good work, fellas.
Where do we think big onk goes from here?
No way Dana slash UFC brass is claring to put him in a title fight anytime soon.
So, Jed, what is your onto the next one pick for Magam and Ankelaiev?
I think I know where I'm going.
I think the only viable answer is Yere Pahashka.
I don't mind it.
I don't think we're going to get it.
They've never fought.
Yeri wants to fight Ulberg because he had too much mercy or whatever dumb thing.
He said, I love him.
You know, I love him.
He says some of the dumbest shit you've ever heard.
So mostly it's really funny.
This is not funny.
Blaming, honestly, what year he should have done after he got knocked out has been like, look, guys, Carlos Olberg cheated.
He also wore what's the indigenous people outfit at Wayans and thus channeled spirits.
He cheated just like Poetan did.
You got to stop.
And you know who's not going to wear an Aboriginal outfit at the Wayans?
Magrana and Klyev.
That dude is just going to show up.
in a white t-shirt and you can't.
Anklav's biggest issue is he's boring as sin.
Let me tell you,
you can't be boring when you fight Yuri Prakashka,
that it is the unstoppable object meeting the immovable force.
You got to just do it.
And then the winner of that, I guess, can fight for a belt
because I just don't know what else you could do with him.
I think you're going to throw,
I think they're going to do,
I think they're going to do Yuri Costa for an interim belt.
It's silly.
Yuri is coming off of a really bad loss in his last fight.
She's just super not to Yuri.
They're going to do it because who else are you going to do?
You beat Costa.
Just let Costa fight Oldberg.
Just wait. It's fine.
Oberg will be back by like January.
I don't know, man.
You think so?
I don't think so, dude.
That was a bad entry.
That was in April.
Yeah, his knees gone.
That's a year.
January.
It's at least a year.
It's the same as Connor.
Conner will be back in the summer.
he'll be back in like January, February.
You think Connor's back in January or February?
No, no.
Connor will be back in the summer because that like,
yeah, so he could probably be back earlier.
They'll just now they'll hold him until next summer's IFW card.
But like, oh, I think Goldberg can be back by February.
At this point, just wait.
The division's awful.
Just wait.
Thank you, too.
If you've got over one or I don't go have been fun,
you could do on Costa for an interim belt,
but just hold Costa as the only bright spot.
And in the meantime,
but Uncle I have and Yeri,
Yeri will make him not be boring.
I promise you that.
So that's it.
I'm going way different for Uncleif.
I'm going with...
Risvan Kunev.
Oh, God, no.
Oh, no, no, no.

See, it's very, it's not, this guy's never really been at a boring fight,
and it's almost impossible to, like, defeat him in a boring fight.
He is a new member of this division, so either one of two things is going to happen.
Either he is just got to, he goes out there and has like this unbelievable hero moment
and knocks up Magabed Ankelaif and fights for a second title.
Or Ancalaif gets to be fun and finishes him.
Give him Rob Wittaker.
Just do Bobby Nux.
Give him a shot.
You don't know issue with that.
Yeah, do Bobby Nux.
There's no way that, him fighting Bobby Nux is going to look nothing like we saw today.
It's got to, that fight's getting stopped one way or the other.
Either Anx going to have that.
performance that he needs to get him over the top or Whitaker's going to have the hero moment
and everyone's going to go crazy and demand he fights for the other.
I don't just be sad to watch Uncle I have beat Robert Whitaker, but he would definitely
beat Robert Whitaker.
Yeah, more than likely, but give me a shot.
Why not?
Cartoonishly larger than Robert Whitaker.
Yeah, but at least he'll go out and finish a fight and be exciting doing it.
Hey, he finished this fight.
He did, but he waited as long as he possible could.
And also, actually, let me shout out to.
the honest to goodness
winner of the evening
a man who I often
have unkind things to say
about because I
don't think he's bad at his job
in a way that some refs are
but I do not
ascribe to the belief that Mark Goddard is the best
referee in the sport as many do I think he
sort of consistently
officiates in ways that I find
awful. Shout out
to you Mark Otter tonight.
That fight didn't need to be
stopped in like a vacuum that's probably a bad stoppage but we know what you were doing you you just
wanted to save us all some time you wanted to save us all some time and some anguish you go read the
live blog in the fourth round mic when uncle i've is going for those submissions i'm like dude
bogden just tap just be the hero we deserve and this can be over and then he wouldn't and
Mark Goddard was like, okay,
just enough of this nonsense.
Because when he first started saying fight back,
I was like,
nothing's happening. There's no reason.
It's like, oh, he's just looking for a pretense.
If he says fight back,
maybe Uncle I will just punch him a couple more times
and he would stop it.
And that's what happened.
And I was like, thank you.
Thank you for ending this tragedy.
Oh, my gosh.
David John with the Celtics jersey.
Shout out. Jason Tatum.
Low key, wouldn't mind the UFC cutting big onk.
I think the hopes of trading big onk and some pieces for Dakota Ditchva.
Those don't seem very likely to me.
I think they're sending the, they're sending a try again message facts back to the UFC after that one.
C. Paglierini won.
Best thing about that fight was Jed's live blog.
It is an incredible live blog.
Thanks, man.
literally in the second round
I was like I'm just going to have fun now
because this fight's going to be horrible
so
uh can a 97
watching choochelew's fight
something came to me you never have a brick when you need one
you never do you got to keep one on hand
that fight
good good for tutelov
because people might remember that fight
sucking a lot more but the main event
really absorbed all the suck from the room
yeah
uh love quinnett
maybe just a tad bit of credit for Big Ank neutralizing Bogdan made him afraid to throw with him.
Here's the thing.
Did he?
He neutralized him.
I'm not arguing he neutralized him.
But Bogdan did not appear that he wanted to throw with him at all.
It's not like Ock cracked him a good one early and then Bogdan was like, can't do it.
His whole game plan was just like nothing.
It was just like, I'm going to wait for.
ever. And that's not a, that hope is not a plan.
Like, it was, so like he didn't neutralize him, but I don't know that he did anything other
than just he was there and Bogdan got shook by the moment or something.
We have a little bit of breaking news, which I'll get to at a moment.
Is it big breaking news?
Oh, I see what you're talking about.
I just have to clarify something real quick.
Why? That's strange.
RF12 has a new main event.
Marad Welles-R-Wrly versus Henry Sehudo 2, at least in the wrestling world,
for the RIF lightweight crossover championship.
That is the main event.
Jordan Burroughs, Sean Brady, the co-main event.
Colby Covington-Ball will happen in Miami at RIF 13, September 19th,
which isn't really a surprise since I talked to Chad Bronstine,
one of the co-founders, he said that it was a probability.
What I'm looking for clarification on is because one of the things that Chad told me was
Colby is wrestling in Cleveland no matter what.
And if he's not wrestling ball, he's wrestling Brennan Allen instead.
So I just want...
For the belt?
He's putting the belts on the line.
No, no, he's defending the belt.
He would be defending the belt against Brendan Allen.
that was the match
and then he would turn around and wrestle
Ballal in Miami
three weeks later
and I hope that's the case
I'm trying to find out some clarity on this
before we move on but
yeah Marab Sahuto 2
and Burroughs Brady
is now the co-main event
and yeah
we'll see what happens
I'm waiting for an answer here
when it comes to Colby
possibly versus Brennan Allen
because at least that's interesting and fun right
because if it is Colby versus Brandon,
Bala will still be there,
because I'm sure he'll be there with Brendan.
Oh, yeah, I didn't even think about that.
Yeah.
That would make a lot of sense.
Then we could build even more.
But then Brendan wins,
and there's no belt for Colby Bala.
That's sad.
But Colby Bala could just wrestle.
I mean, they could,
but like you want to put a shiny object on the thing.
I mean,
you could just create another crossover belt for the Brennan one,
because you have to think the weight class
has to be slightly different, right?
I guess.
Maybe.
Maybe that's it.
Maybe they just do a different weight class.
Costa versus Navajo Sterling for the interim belt of Sterling wins next week.
No.
Can't do it because if Sterling wins,
then the two title holders are of the same camp.
I mean,
I guess maybe they'd fight each other.
I just assume that city kickboxing is not like ATT, you know,
where it's like these guys can technically fight under the same roof,
but not even train together that all.
Like I assume that that's just not an offer.
RS 40 thoughts on Pernas debut.
What is Solis ceiling?
Saladin Pernas.
They nailed it.
Fighting Dan Hooker, UFC Paris.
They've nailed it.
This is literally the perfect opponent.
He's going to brutalize Dan Hooker and it's going to rock.
Yeah, he's going to beat the soul out.
Like he's going to come in and he is going to put Dan Hooker to the torch.
And then everyone's going to be like,
All right, I guess he wins one and he fights for the belt.
Because once he slaughters Dan Hooker,
they could have just immediately put him into a title fight,
but he'll probably have to beat Dan Hooker and then, like,
Charles Olivera and rock on, baby.
That'll be cool as hell.
Yeah.
Let's go to some other.
Oops.
I didn't mean to do that.
Let's go to some other questions.
BSD versus Axel Sol and picking BSD to beat him.
Okay.
Just battling Frenchman.
I would like to see BSD fight Saladin Parnasse at some point.
That fight makes me happy in all the right places.
But Axel Sol is pretty good, man.
I'm interested to see sort of where, how old is he?
Let's look this up.
How old is old Axel Solah?
Does he look great tonight, right?
like bomb theme dangerous dude he was always going to win but like he made it pretty light work
losing the mason jones is no big deal 28 so hitting the prime of his career lightweight i think
a actual yeah he's gonna end up being a ranked dude is my estimation of him so yeah he's really
that's probably a bridge too far for me but yeah be fun yeah that um that mason jones fight was
crazy
crazy crazy crazy
let's see
do do what else we got
here
I can't believe
fight of the night is
I can't
wait that's
funny to me
who's next for Jed's
adopted flyweight
we haven't adopted him
we're the
we're reviewing the application
the board must rule on such things
but Timorov has
the two pillars
of the Mushu
foster family children are you just want to hit a motherfucker and you're kind of goofy those are
like you got to just be either preferably both but either one or the other timorov definitely has the
i just want to hit a dude like he's got that down in spades uh he's not all that goofy but like a little
bit goofy so he's we'll review you know see another couple of fights we'll have to rush into this
this sort of familial dynamic.
But,
I don't,
there's no wrong way
to eat this Reese's,
man.
Like,
what should be next
is being active.
He had to sit out a year
because of the sussie.
So put him in there against,
I mean,
like Brandon Moreno in my head feels good.
The problem is
Brandon Mreno seems like he's washed.
Also,
he's booked.
I don't remember who he's booked against.
Who's this?
Brandon Mareno.
Brandon Mareno is fighting.
Hold on.
I just don't remember who he's booked against.
Joseph Morales.
Joseph Morales.
But, like, yeah, put Timrov in, I mean, he's going to be ranked now
because he just cooked up Vinny Siggs.
So let's take a look at the old rankings.
Already beat Charles Johnson.
I don't really want to do Osama Bayev.
You can do him versus, like, Lonnie Kavanaugh,
if you want to put, or the Gooch.
Though I think I'd like to see the Gooch move to 135.
There's just no wrong way.
Book him against anybody.
It's fine.
Brandon Royval, let's have a whole hell of a lot of fun.
Oh, okay.
I like the Kavanaugh idea.
Yeah, after getting stopped by Royvah and just a sick-ass fight.
And Kavanaugh is very durable, so I'm curious to see if you can get out around one.
So that is interesting.
Kevin also leaves his chin in the air
So that little
Violence gobble and just throws one of them haymakers
Maybe he just goes away
I'm totally fond of that
If Alex team had taken the fight with Jan Behovic
A catchweight as John revealed
Would it have been a better main event? No
Way worse way of it
Yeah, it would not have been good
Maybe not maybe because like
Maybe Behovic just kicks his legs enough
That something happens but like
I have a great
I have an immense amount of respect for Yonbovich for being like a sensationally good defensive fighter.
He is not in fun fights.
It's just not really part of his makeup.
They happen occasionally because they all let anything can.
But I think that that fight would have been even more tepid kickboxing than we got.
Dark Erie, are we getting two pay-per-views in October?
It appears so.
Are we?
It appears so.
Oh, we got one announced today.
Well, Abu Dhabi were getting.
Yeah, the Abu Dhabi thing was announced during the broadcast.
It was 33.
Yes.
So then we're definitely getting one because that's 33.
So 332 will be early October.
The first weekend of October then.
And probably the return to good old Salt Lake City.
I guess it could be.
So there's going to be two pay-per-views in two weeks or three weeks.
Because either it's the first weekend of October.
So that's like October.
fourth or whatever it is, right?
Third, which is
then two weeks removed from
331, or
it'll be two weeks removed from
33 because it'll be
the second week of
October. So, like, that would be October 10th.
Yeah. Man,
I wanted to be October 3rd because I'm trying to do something
on October 10th, so please don't do that.
Yes, it's probably
going to be October 3rd. That's going to be a crazy
ass weekend.
That's a way better for me. I'm trying to play
a super nice golf course on October 10th
and I can't skip
another pay-per-view.
No. No, you cannot.
So that will be a problem for me.
Yeah. Caswell, better main card,
PFL Long Island or UFC Serbia.
I have to look at
honestly both.
Serbia's main card is
three
very low-level quality
fights.
So
So PFL doesn't have
Doesn't have to beat a lot.
PFL is Usenar Magamato
Archie Colgan is the main event.
Dakota Ditchiva, Denise Keelholtz,
Amru Magamatov versus Angel
Alvarez and Dovlett,
Yag Shmeridov versus
Simeon Powell.
That is the main card.
PFL.
And PFL's better.
Yeah.
I would agree.
I mean, Dakota, Dichita
Kielholz is a nonsense fight,
but
Dichita.
And Morgamedov are by far the best two fighters on either of these cards.
And Colgan's okay.
Yeah, and Ousman's going to win and then he's going to leave.
So you get to see the final Uso and Armaghameda fight for PFL.
A couple of Lates.
You guys are fantastic.
Thanks for all the hard work.
Thank you.
Much appreciated.
Thank you.
Appreciate that.
All right.
Let's take a couple more and then we'll get the heck out of here.
Do, do, do.
What was the best card of the year?
White House, right?
It's got to be White House.
The card was very good.
It was...
I had my complaints about it for other reasons,
but as a fight card goes, it was very good.
Yeah, very, very good fight card.
329 was trending towards being the best card of the year
until that main event.
No doubt about it.
327 was excellent.
I think I would have 327 even before the main event of 329.
I thought the main event at 329 was hilarious.
Yes, and then 328 was actually very good, too,
although the main event wasn't the most exciting fight.
The pay-per-views have come alive.
The start of the year, they were quite bad.
They've gotten better.
3.30 is not good.
It's a normal.
Compared to the others.
Who is it?
I don't.
We don't even have the,
yeah, we have the two title fights,
and we lost the other, like,
super interesting fight on the card.
That's a bad card.
It's a bad card.
Yeah, we had, we lost Aaron Blanchfield,
Jasmine Jasest,
Devisius, which was the third most interesting fight on the card.
Yeah, it's not great.
This is two title fights and very little behind that.
Okay.
Yeah, it's a fight card that's happening.
I'm going to definitely be parlaying Jeff Neal and Neil Magni.
The Jeff Neal Magne parlay is absolutely going to be made.
Yes.
For funzies.
Origio, it's two title fights, Joe Piper fight.
Joe Piper's not on the card.
Apparently not.
Rumors, Edmund, Aaron, Jasmine, and it got moved.
Yeah, that was.
kind of always the plan they're moving to Edmonton but that makes sense but would have been good for this card so all right i think
we have uh we have done our duty here i agree i don't know how much more we can talk about this event but uh yeah
i'll be back sometime the next couple of days to do some matchmaking for this event and then it's on to
ufc serbia which i mean i i didn't get a chance to i believe we're calling it ufc belgrade
of C. Belgrade. Urosmanich versus Daniel Rodriguez, Janbovich, Navajo, Stirling, Losto Heppo versus
Gilbert Urbina, Disco Todorovich. Robert Valentin is a main card fight in the year of our Lord
26. Marchine Tybora versus Alexander Rackich, Milos Yannich versus Noah Gugnan, Ludwig Klein versus Tophic
Messiah. That fight bangs. I really like that fight. Bogdan Grad versus Dennis Majuka, Nina
Milosevic is just going to do
really bad things to Haley Cowan.
Michael Olvera versus Oban Elliott.
Marina Spachik versus Stephanie Luciano.
Matush Rabotsky versus Kyle Prepelek,
Jovan Lecca versus Alexander Popek
and Mark Vologden versus Borislovich
that is UFC Belgrade.
Vlogden, Nikolich will be fun.
But yeah.
They'll probably be very, very possibly in the family.
He's really, he's making a strong case to being a bozo.
So we'll see if he can lock his family membership up this weekend.
Combat sports not done today.
PFL in Washington, D.C.
I'm watching boxing right now.
PFLD.C.
Thad Gene versus Ernesto Rodriguez, the main event.
Did you do it, Thaddy, boy.
He may just go ahead and do it.
it.
I need him to do it.
The climb depends on him.
PFL DC.
That is happening.
Anthony Joshua is going to go knock a dude out.
And then maybe he fights
Tyson Fury.
Maybe he doesn't.
Who the hell knows at this point?
He's going to fight Tyson Fury at the end of the year.
I mean, we've worked on this for a decade now.
It's 10.
This will be step 10 functional of the climb if you knock this down,
Thaddy.
Let's go.
Step 10.
Don't let us.
Double digits is big.
We haven't been to double digits
a long time.
It's been a long time.
Let's see if that
Gene can do it, everybody.
Watch BFFallong, MAAFite.com.
It's great website.
