Starting point is 00:00:00 I saw my friend on the other side of the street. I was heading to school with the kids. I let go of mom's hand to wave. I had already forgotten their lunches. I ran over to hug her. She came out of nowhere. And then... It stopped.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Sometimes the moments that never happen matter most. Volvo's automatic emergency braking helps ensure a safe ending for everyone. Learn more at volvocars.caps.caps.ca. could just hit skip on the worst parts of your life. You know, the same way you can skip an ad. I get it. I'm Siyya and I live in Ice Cove. I've made some questionable decisions that didn't end up the way I planned.
Starting point is 00:00:44 And today, I'm still figuring it out. Somehow things usually get worse before they get better. Apparently, that's how I roll. So bundle up and come along for the bumpy ride. Stream a new episode of North of North Tuesdays on CBC Gem. All right, Mike Heck here from M. fighting in my good friend jed meshu is here with me as well because jedd the day is finally arrived it's app day the all new espionation app it's live now it's live jed it's alive yeah man
Starting point is 00:01:14 i'm really excited and it's it's awesome man combat sports like all sports but combat sports fans especially you guys are going to have your voices heard like never before with within sb nation m mhm boxing not me but you pro wrestling mike it's it is a community based app. It's all about community with the USB Nation app. It's so easy to use and it can keep obviously combat sports fans connected to their favorite teams in all of sports too across the board.
Starting point is 00:01:42 So I can keep up with the Red Sox, the Patriots and the Bruins, all on my phone and it's so simple to use. Yeah, like you mentioned those teams, but there's so much more because I don't care about Boston sports, Mike, but I get to follow the NFL, all the other
Starting point is 00:01:57 sport, F1, the various sports that I care about outside of combat sports. And then there's the live experience because that's, to me, that's one of the coolest things. You can chat with us during fight cards every Saturday. And you can chat with other people in the communities as big events are happening. So it's a really good time. So ladies and gentlemen, come fight with us over on the all new SB Nation app. Download it today.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Download it right now. What are you waiting for? Download it. Yeah. Bounce with me, bounced with me. Like you are Michael Venom Page. because the fights are over, the victory horns are sounding, and they sound for France, ladies and gentlemen,
Starting point is 00:02:48 and they sound for Saladin Parnasse, as he kicked the ass of Dan Hooker, something proper, mowed him down in the very first round to get his UFC career off and running in emphatic fashion. Honestly, just a really big epic win, and we will talk all about that. We will talk about Axisola, huge knockout victory over Fress Siam.
Starting point is 00:03:13 And everything else that happened at UFC Paris that just wrapped up, close to 30-ish minutes ago or so. Plus, my man who was on the show with me was watching Katie Taylor in her final fight. We'll probably chat on that and whatever else you want. But first, let me bring in the co-host for this UFC post-fight show, the king in the north, and a man who, on paper, is my climb consultant.
Starting point is 00:03:42 But much like, you know, your experiences with the consulting realm, I'm not entirely sure that I'm getting what I'm paying for, as he's suggesting climbs that would fail and talking me out of climbs that would succeed. But I am speaking about the great Alexander Cayley, the king of the north, AK. How you doing? Is the climb still alive?
Starting point is 00:04:04 Yes. Is the climb still alive? How many steps are we at? 13, 14. That's all we care about, okay? We do not lament steps that we don't take. All right, that is my number one rule is client consultant. We do not lament steps we don't take.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Yeah, you could have been one step closer with Kada today. It's okay. It's okay. What's important is you didn't fall and you didn't listen to me. When I said, when I said, when I said, take the Connor McGregor of Paris, M.R.C. Who was like winning that fight? I mean, he was winning that fight.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Like, it was so obvious he was winning. You would have been okay. Yeah. Yeah, you would have been feeling okay, but then you would have helped really angry the way the fight actually ended. Yeah, we're ready to talk to UC Paris. I'm a little emotional. As you mentioned, I had Katie Taylor duty tonight. And I'm not the biggest boxing guy.
Starting point is 00:04:52 You guys know that. But of course, I know Katie Taylor. Of course, I've watched a lot of Katie Taylor's fights. And, of course, I know what she means to, you know, the sport of boxing. So top-notch production from, like, DeZone and Matchroom boxing, whoever was involved in that tonight. Really great stuff. A lot of celebrity, like, cameos. Bono.
Starting point is 00:05:08 they got Bono in there they got Ed Sheeran showed up Roy McElroy sorry these were video video things and then they had West Life perform you guys remember West Life it was just really well done I think really well paced there wasn't like a as soon as it was like a bizarre thing
Starting point is 00:05:25 happened to the Co-main where this guy fell out of the ring there easily could have been like an hour between that and the main but no it was standard maybe like 15 15 minutes between the Co-Main and the main and then they brought oh then they had the performances so maybe a little longer than that But it didn't feel long. It was a really classy tribute to Katie Taylor,
Starting point is 00:05:41 who's going out on top, really good performance against Flora Peely, who was like the perfect opponent. She was coming forward. She was getting to exchanges. But, you know, Kaye Taylor still step ahead. And then it ends with a very nice speech. And then her leaving her gloves and her championship belts in the ring.
Starting point is 00:05:58 It was awesome, man. It was awesome. 80,000 plus at Croke Park. And not a person was moving from their seat after that fight was over. They were locked in for everything she had to say. So you really can't end it better than that. So yeah, really good night there.
Starting point is 00:06:10 And U.S. Paris wasn't too bad either. Yeah, because I was working Paris. I did not see almost any of the Katie Taylor thing. I'll check that out maybe tomorrow. A point of order for us, AK, a little behind the scenes in front of the scenes. A horrible storm is apparently rolled through my neighborhood in the last five minutes. My power has flickered.
Starting point is 00:06:33 If I go away, run free until I can return to you. Was it the best. Will I still be here? Yeah, I think he'll still be here. So you can take the reins and operate as best you can until such time. But out of literal nowhere, the trees in my front yard are like bent in half. So don't know what's happening here. Excited. You know, you know who else got bent in half, though, AK?
Starting point is 00:06:59 Dan Hooker. That man got folded up by Saladid Parnasse in the main event of U.C. Paris. it is the primary thing we are here to speak about today. And so let me run this down in case you haven't seen it. One, go get you a Paramount Plus subscription and watch this whenever you can because it is thrilling and super fun to see Solidine. Saladin Parnasse finally make his UFC debut. He came in.
Starting point is 00:07:22 He looked kind of small compared to Dan Hooker, quite frankly, as he stepped in and they were like really actually fighting each other. And I was like, oh, yeah, Parnasse used to be a featheroid. That's right. And I know Dan Hooker did that one. once, but like, come on, you know, not the same thing. And then he just looked, lights out the whole way through AK, checked a whole bunch of kicks from Dan Hooker,
Starting point is 00:07:46 kept slowly backing him up. As soon as he got him back behind the black lines near the fence, he would explode forward. That isn't what ended up doing it, though. A liver kick, I mean, toes right to the liver, sent Dan into the onched over, all that sucked position, and Parnash just bombed on him from there.
Starting point is 00:08:05 really nasty left hook once hooker got against the fence dropped him some follow-up shots that were equally as mean and referee mark goddard pulls it off uh pull sorry pulls him off of dan hooker who has now lost three in a row but we'll talk about hooker in a moment how impressed were you by saladin parnass's uh performance okay j ed before we get to that i actually realized we should mention uh the espionation app don't you agree oh sure i was probably going to at the end. Yeah, yeah. No, no, we're supposed, well, we should, we should still our corporate overlors with like, we're doing a little sandwiches. Well, no, I actually, actually had a logical segue for this. I was going to say, like, because we were multi, you know, I think we were all
Starting point is 00:08:45 kind of multi-screening tonight. A lot of our staff was being screening. I know, like, Damon was covering R. I think Damien and Mike kind of watched some RIF. You were covering a lot of UFC. Everyone was watching a little bit of UFC, and then I was primarily on the Katie Taylor. But I got to stay involved in the UFC Paris conversation, guys, because I was on the SB Nation app. And we have these great, you know, we've had a feed. before. You guys might have visited, you know, the website on your desktop and seeing the feed, but it's not... A lot of game day chats on the app are so easy, though. Yeah, it doesn't always jump out at you on the desktop. On the app, listen, you flick a couple of buttons and then that live chat
Starting point is 00:09:18 is in your face. You actually can't avoid. I actually almost forgot it was like, not it was happening, but I forgot to like jump in right away and then I was scrolling through the app and it popped up. And I was like, this is how it's done, guys. So we got a lot of great conversations going on there. Really great interface. Shout out to the devs and they knocked out of the park with this app, which I think just went live early this week. Yes. Apologies to go outside of the U.S. I don't think there's access for it yet.
Starting point is 00:09:40 I'm in Canada and I'm using, I have nefarious means to wish to access this guys, but hopefully we'll have it available in Canada soon and other locations. But just to remind of people, fight nights, check out the app. Check out the app. And check out all the other sports you guys follow.
Starting point is 00:09:54 I'm dreadfully following Tottenham Hotspur. I regret it. Look, buddy, we can talk about the spurs later. And we don't have to. And it's just, No, you know what? Right now you can call it what the hell you want. But it's been easier than ever. I don't know if they get to be called anything if they can't score any goals.
Starting point is 00:10:11 What's the longest a team in the Premier League has not scored? Because three games is a lot of games to not have scored a goal. I've said too much. Go Blue Jays, go Toronto Raptors. Either way, it's all stuff. I look forward to using the espionage now to keep up with. But your question, Jen, I'm sorry to get back. My question.
Starting point is 00:10:28 How impressed were you by Saladin Farnasse in his win over Dan Hooker? So you guys know heading into this fight. My one major concern was like, ah, you know, he's coming off a win over Kenneth Cross. Like, is the iron as sharp as it could be going to his UC debut? Especially since, you know, Dan Hooker has been the spoiler in the past. He's not like a constant, like threat to win as an underdog. But there's enough evidence in Dan Hooker's career.
Starting point is 00:10:51 We're like, oh, he was the underdog. This fight, this fight, this fight, and he came out on top. He's done it a few times. Time is certainly catching up to him. Age is catching up to him, the amount of fights. And I think we saw a lot of that site because Jed, boy, our big concern one of them was athleticism with respect to parnass's like impressive skill set he is just uh also quite explosive quite fast they were playing different sports he looked much much faster
Starting point is 00:11:15 than dan hooker and that played out so yes i'm really really really really nobody's ever called dan hooker great ass no tough his nails absolutely great good great shape he's in great shape amazing shape yeah not a guy who's going to light up a combine bullet yeah uh parnassan the other hand we're probably we fare pretty well. And he talked about that. I think in the video promo, talking about all the great athletes that sort of come out of his area. So it looked great. I mean, this was, I'll just say, this is a 10 out of 10 debut. I mean, if you want to knock a point off because he was like, oh, it's Dan Hooker. And, you know, he'd already lost two straight. Listen, he'd never lost three straight. And I agree, probably on the downside of his career.
Starting point is 00:11:51 But that's when you're Parnas, that's when you have to win like a first round finish. It can't drag out to like the championship rounds. It can't go to a decision. You got to impress. And you got a home country advantage. delivered in all aspects 10 out of 10. Yeah. Truceau, we're not limiting him to just athleticism. That's we're simply noting a point. I literally said not to downplay his skills.
Starting point is 00:12:16 He's a extremely skilled fighter, but athleticism is a, is great to have. But it's, it's great to hear the things you would like to hear instead of what's being said. Here's what I'd like to hear, though, okay. After this fight, Pernas, because like I don't have anything to add. He looks sensational. It's as good a debut as anybody could hope for. We could go into a long conversation about the significance of, because this was not his first option to be in the UFC.
Starting point is 00:12:45 They offered him previously. Reporting seems to suggest that they kind of lowballed him. He said no. And, you know, like there is a conversation to be had about delaying your arrival in the UFC to maximize your development elsewhere. and then coming into the cage as a fully formed products, you can do stuff like this.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Whereas like Saladin Parnasse a couple of years ago, maybe he does. Oh, I think that's the power outage. Jed was talking about it. He appears to be frozen. Let me just,
Starting point is 00:13:16 I don't want this conversation to go on in this direction. Guys, obviously Parnas is a great fighter. We're just saying his athleticism made a huge difference in this fight. If you think it didn't,
Starting point is 00:13:27 I think that's being a little bit silly. That's being a little bit naive. Like, do you guys not agree that his athleticism was a factor? Yeah, I see what you guys are saying. saying it's fight IQ checking kicks all this stuff is great it's a factor it's why it's why he's not just a like exciting fighter it's why we think he could be a top five guy in the UFC it's why we
Starting point is 00:13:42 think he could be one or two wins away from a title shot so I said he had a 10 out of 10 debut so I'm glad you guys are very passionate about your fandom from Parnasse I think he's a great fighter I think you all need to relax when when we're complimenting a fighter but we're not actually treating him like a god king of MMA that's okay he's a great fighter and not him becoming UFC champion, let me put it this way, would not surprise me in the slightest. I think he's that good.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Is that enough? Is that enough phrase for you guys? Is that enough phrase? But I understand the criticism. Of course, he's way more than athlete. We know this because he had an extensive career at KSW. Long before, you know, we saw him do MVP in May, long before, you know, he's obviously joined to the UFC.
Starting point is 00:14:21 He showed all these things. He showed all these things. He's gone the distance. He's not just a quick hitter. He can certainly finish fast, but he's gone to five-round fights. He's fought very good competition in KSW. So yeah, I could not give the guy more flowers. I thought he did an incredible job.
Starting point is 00:14:36 As for the Dan Hooker side of things, it is. It happens to everyone. I think in the preview for this, we've been saying a lot about how Dan has fought like nothing but ranked competition or fighters certainly like coming up in the rankings coming for his number. Not an easy place to be. There's a reason the fans love him. There's a reason the UFC loves him. But I think it's fair to say as he approaches, this was his 39.
Starting point is 00:15:00 pro fight he'll be getting to 40 in his next fight and he's been in wars you know this is not a guy who is known for fighting safe this is not a guy who's always like put away opponents early he's taken a lot of damage he'll be the first one to tell you that right that he's been he's been in battles he's been in wars and now like i said like i said earlier for the first time in his career he's lost three straight fights that doesn't mean this is the end for dan hooker this doesn't mean that oh well the UFC should release him this doesn't mean that they shouldn't consider resigning him whenever his contract is up but
Starting point is 00:15:33 we have to be realistic right as much as we all might like Dan Hooker we have to be realistic this is now second round submission to Armand Surukion second round TKO to Benwa San Dini now first round DKO really really vicious knockout I feel like you know it was called a TKO but it was going
Starting point is 00:15:48 south real bad so I don't know I don't know where Dan Hooker goes from here you know Mike and I will discuss a little bit on on to the next one, certainly. But I think for now, like, you know, we just hope for Dan Hooker's health. And really, as I know you guys want, the focus here is not on what's going on Dan Hooker. It's on Saladin Parnass, really, really thrilling at ACOR Arena in Paris.
Starting point is 00:16:14 I want to quickly see how did France deal overall, I think really well. I think if we're even not counting, you know, the co-main event, which we'll get to, which was a French fighter versus French fighter, what do we have here? I mean, you know, I don't know if you guys claim Losenkeda, obviously. He's a Belgian guy. Morgan Sherrier, not so great. Umarcy, disappointing. I think, you know, should have done better.
Starting point is 00:16:40 You started off well, right? We started off well. Nora Connolly got a win. Matthew DiCloh got a win and Dalpin Venoishi got a win. I think we have bonuses too. Let me actually get to that, guys, before we talk about the co-main event. It was Mario Pinto.
Starting point is 00:16:56 Losin Keda Axel Sola and Saladin Parnaz. I don't have any huge issue with that. I was really hoping Delphine Bona Weish would have got one for that really, really, really nasty submission of Sophia Montenegro in the preliminary opener. But I have found, like, even if you get a good finish and you're the first preliminary bout, like the rest of the night has to be pretty lackluster for you to be in the conversation. So it's kind of unfair. I don't like to criticize without saying who I would have swapped it out with.
Starting point is 00:17:26 So let me just look at that again. I think she could have got it over Pinto. No? Am I crazy guys? I think Cata, Sola, Parnas, totally correct. Kind of would have got to put it on Delphine over Pinto. What do you guys say? I've got to see the comments here.
Starting point is 00:17:44 What are you guys saying? Joseph Bosa not surprised there wasn't the fight of the night. What do you mean? We had a boy of an MVP. Matthew says U.C. Sacramento was the card of the year they're saying. Yeah, U.S. Sacramento was really good. Who else we got? MVP made that great France crowd boot.
Starting point is 00:18:01 Okay, you know what? We'll get to that fight, guys, before we talk about the much more entertaining Sola ZM fight, as short as it was. MVP, Michael Venom Page, last fight on his contract. We all knew this was a weird matchup. We all thought stylistically this one could get ugly, whether you thought it was going to stay on the feet or whether you thought, you know, Rezaboev would try and maybe implement some more grappling, which he did early on. And he did try that throughout much of the fight, so that was clearly part of his game plan.
Starting point is 00:18:34 But otherwise, it was very much a Michael Van derange fight. And in the UFC, that has not been a compliment. It's been a rough go. Much of the talk going to this was, does he want to come back to the UFC? And probably more relevantly, does the UFC plan to resign him? after this bout, which a lot of you guys have said in the comments, you're spot on, man, was like the only one in the car that this amazing French crowd was not particularly into,
Starting point is 00:19:06 and you can't blame them. I don't know what's going on with Michael Bennett Pay some times. I get it as long as you're winning, you're winning. He's staying healthy, which I think is always a good thing. I'm sure that's very important to him. But at some point, you kind of have to deliver for the fans. and I'm not saying be reckless, but there's moments in this fight
Starting point is 00:19:26 where I'm backseat driving here. There's moments this fight where it certainly feels like Mechel Venom Page could have landed and then followed up with something as opposed to kind of just, oh, I landed one strike, now I'm going to bounce back,
Starting point is 00:19:39 I'm bouncing around, I'm taunting my opponent like, oh, I got you, now come and get me. It's like, hey, Mike, maybe throw a combination. You know, maybe. Who needs combinations,
Starting point is 00:19:51 okay? Oh, he's back. He's back. He heard we were talking about Michael Venham page. He has no lights, but he heard we were talking about MVP and he said, I got to get in there. How are you even, oh, this is the best I got. He's about to tell us scary story. Jed, I skipped over the Co-Main for now. We'll go back to the Co-Main, but I think everyone in the comments kind of wants to talk about what we thought was going to be the co-main. I think when this card was announced, we thought, uh, the 2026 Chevrolet tracks is the stylish. SUV for those on the move.
Starting point is 00:20:24 And with the standard Chevy safety assist package, you have the backup to handle every turn with confidence. The 2026 tracks. Start your build at Chevrolet.ca. Real Canadian Superstore has everything you need this back-to-school season. Save on lunchbox savers like Ziggy's sliced deli-me
Starting point is 00:20:39 products for always $375. And get life brand pure Vita shampoo or conditioner for $8 each. At Real Canadian Superstore, when you're ready, we're ready with a whole world and more. Whoa, what is going on? My best friend Mike is here. I tried to loop Mike in because I don't have power, so I'm tethered on my phone.
Starting point is 00:20:59 But like, I don't think this is good for me to do the show like this. I don't know. It seems fine to me. Mike, what are your thoughts as a producer extraordinaire? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mike, what's going on? How about you hop out and when the power comes back, you can come back on? I feel like...
Starting point is 00:21:16 My guess is the power is not coming back tonight. That's why I tagged you. I feel like... back in. I feel like a bad scene from Evil Dead is about to happen to you. Like I'm waiting for eyeballs to poke to like to shine in the corner and then the feed just fell out. It was incredible because Mike at the very beginning like it was fine and then a storm came
Starting point is 00:21:37 out of nowhere. I told A.K. I was like, I don't know if I'm going to make it. And then it shut off. And there's nowhere for me to go. Like I have to get in my car to drive. So where? There's no power near me right now.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Yeah, you're, we're starting to lose picture as well. Yep. Yeah. So thank you for stepping in. Take care, Jed. Take care of Jed. Take care of Chad. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Saladin Parnas forever. Yeah, he was great. He was great. And now he was, okay. Yeah. Mike, thank for jumping in. I was just talking about the MVP. Do you have any thoughts about MVP and Norsolt-on-Zboeyev?
Starting point is 00:22:21 No. Like, I mean, I tweeted this out. He is going to be fascinating over the next couple of months because he, people are going to want to sign him because of the name value,
Starting point is 00:22:36 but it's also hard to justify signing a guy who you can argue was in the two worst fights of 2026. I don't think so. I think there were fights on the UFC London card that were worse than him in Sam Patterson, but at worst, he was in two of the 10 worst fights of the year.
Starting point is 00:22:56 So it's going to be fascinating. Like, is Scotty Cokes and Coker FC going to sign him? Are they going to make a bit at him when he can talk to them? Is MVPFL going to throw money at him? I don't think, I don't know, man. Like, he's a little intrigued in that way, but the performance was terrible. Like, the fight was awful. Like, it was just a terrible fight.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Like, I don't know what anybody expected. like middleweight, welterweight, light, heavyweight, it's every fight's going to look that way unless you go after him. And no one wants to. So that's just who he is. That's how he's always been. And the only one to really go after him was Douglas Lima. And he took a beating before that happened.
Starting point is 00:23:41 And Lima eventually got him. But yeah, it's really hard to look good against that dude. And it's near impossible if you don't try to hurt him at all. So tough. Mike, do you realize the evangelista cyborg win was like 10 years ago? We're that far away from the pokey ball. The flying knee pokey ball. What a moment it was, but geez, Louise, we're talking.
Starting point is 00:24:07 We're on a decade now. Truly one of the most devastating knockouts in the history of the sport. Sure. Like what he did to the skull of that man literally that night was so brutal. But we are maybe we should have appreciated. the way Bellator just threw him into a bunch of showcase fights. We're like, oh, let's push him. Let's push him and give him tougher competition.
Starting point is 00:24:29 And then it turned out we shouldn't have done that because it's just been this way ever since. So it's crazy. Like the whole thing's wild. I never complained. I not once during this time I built. Because I understood what he was. And I'm not saying that as an insult, but I understood everything you said that he needs specific style matchups. if he's going to do these cool viral knockouts.
Starting point is 00:24:53 That's just a matter of fact. And he can also beat good fighters. He totally can beat good fighters. It's just not going to be pretty. It's funny. I don't know if it was Blaine. I think it was Blaine in our Slack who was saying they should have just done him in Wonderboy. And at first I was like, oh, no, or maybe he tweeted it.
Starting point is 00:25:10 And I think I was like, no, nobody wants to see that. But now that I think about it, considering the matchups we ended up with, at least that would have satisfied, like, you know, people want to see those guys fight for years. MVP said, I keep calling it, I just say Michael Page. Even though Paige said so many times, you guys know that fight's going to suck, right? And we were like, yeah, probably, because you're both karate guys. But guess what? A lot of his fights in the UFC ended up sucking anyway. At least that would have had some intrigue around it, storyline.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Not really, because they're like best friends. They're like great buds and training partners. They both are the same manager. Like, they have a relationship. So all you would have got was like more of what we saw, but more smiles and high fives. really perhaps like someone would have tried something weird but we would have still got 51 significant strikes on a good day from that fight so i don't know i think i think he's done man like i just think they're going to let him go what what there's just no reason to keep him on
Starting point is 00:26:12 there's really none i can't imagine unless he takes some massive pay cut and why would he do that there's places that are no good money yeah that was um every promotion but like he should just do he should just do everything like he should be arm and 2.0 he should be he's going to do r a f he should just keep doing polaris like he should just pop up everywhere and just compete for everybody run the gambit with every promotion out there just get in there and do it everybody would dual arena get in there and and battle and just have a good time he's still scarred for duler i'm so sorry i red um did you see the bonuses uh i see i saw him briefly.
Starting point is 00:26:53 Delphine Benoitish was not one of them. I'm a little sour about that. She should have got a little sour. She should have got one. I have no problems. Saladin got one, obviously. Axelola got one, obviously. Of course.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Losing, Kada, sure. I actually implied with that. Mario Pinto, I would have given that one to Delphi. Yeah, so, hold, okay. Oh, there's an MVP thing. Yeah. Pinto, Kata, Sola, Parnas. I thought they were going to give Campbell one
Starting point is 00:27:22 because he's a contender series guy, and they were just going to, like, give it to him. But, yeah, I would have given a turn. I mean, that fight lasted the entire event because there was blood all over that octagon, literally for the rest of the card, and it's because of that first fight.
Starting point is 00:27:39 So, yeah, I probably would have given it to her. That was so nasty. That was so nasty. Okay, we should talk a little about the Co-Maine. I think they did a great job here, putting two French stars against each other. You know, normally it's a, normally when they do these cards and wherever they go,
Starting point is 00:27:55 it's usually like, you know, so-and-so versus the world. Like look at the Edmonton card coming up, which I think is perfect. I think it's all Canadians versus non-Canadians in the card, which is like, yeah, I dig it. And that's normally the way they go. This time they took two very promising French fighters, Sola a little bit more of an up-and-comer, ZM a little bit more established, someone who up until, like, you know,
Starting point is 00:28:13 losing to Tom Nolan, I think we said, man, he's like, one or two wins away from, not a title shot, but getting into that conversation, right? He just didn't have a lot of gusto with the fans and matchmakers for some reason. So we have to take a step back. And boy, you know, tough luck runs to a very, very good lightweight and Axel Sola. I don't know. Mike, any thoughts on this fight?
Starting point is 00:28:33 Do you think, does Sola take his steam now? Do we kind of move on now from the Zium Dark Horse Experience? And is solo already kind of like knocking on the door of a top of 15 ranking? Unfortunately, the Ziam Dark Horse experience ended the fight before this. Oh. So this is just, I mean, it's just what it is. Like, he's, he was the sort of Nathaniel Wood of the lightweight division. They just wouldn't give him a step up.
Starting point is 00:28:56 He just kept winning against tough dudes. But they wouldn't give him like the rank dude. And then they throw him in there with Tom and the that fight goes the way it does and goes out there and gets rinsed by like the super fun guy that everyone hopes does well because he's the super fun guy. Especially because that fight with Mason Jones was incredible. And it saved an awful card. Like that fight saved you. UFC London. Without that fight, UFC London's one of the worst fight cards in
Starting point is 00:29:24 like the last five years. So I think he's just kind of one of those guys that people rue for. It's tough for Ziam. And again, this is why lightweight is the best division and the toughest division in the sport because you can go on a run like him, you can get a ranking, and then one loss and you're just done.
Starting point is 00:29:40 Like, you're just out of it. And then trying to mentally come back knowing how long of a road it is to get back to where you were, let alone into the top 10, the top five. You're just going to get knocked on a whole peg, but that knocko was absolutely nasty. Sola gets elbowed in the face as he's throwing the punch and then just obliterates him. And you see they zoom in on that camera shot on Ziam's face.
Starting point is 00:30:04 He's unconscious with his eyes wide open. It looks like his eyeballs are going to bounce out of his head. Just nasty stuff. Fight rocked until it was over. And that knocko was nasty. So good win. Good fight. Good performance.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Great. You know, they got put into that penultimate spot, Co-main event spot, if you want to call it, and definitely went a long way towards washing the bitter taste of that Michael Page, Sultan-Rizabaya fight out of people's mouth. This fight, this card to me, we say this all, I was like two fights too many.
Starting point is 00:30:36 Even though, again, like I said, it wasn't a bad night of fights. If this was like a tidy 12, 11 fights, I'd probably be feeling just a little more jazzed up about it, but it does help when you have a knockout in the coal main, exciting knockout in the main. I think everyone's feeling pretty good. The vibes in Paris were good. and the vibes most of yours are good. I don't mean to speak for all of you,
Starting point is 00:30:50 but we're all here. We're chatting about this card. And we're pretty enthusiastic about it. Just looking at the rest of the main card. Let me say, Ultimate Fighter Alums, 2 and O tonight, okay? Daniel Duncchenko, the season 33 winner,
Starting point is 00:31:03 Delphine, the season 34, semifinalist, okay? We're both very impressive. Curtis Campbell, as you mentioned. I have a question about Dunchenko. Oh. Because it's an internal conversation. I know what you're asking,
Starting point is 00:31:15 and I'm struggling. Go ahead. Is Don't, Can he go good? Like, is he good, good? Yeah. Yeah, he, you know, after tonight, yeah. Like, do you, do you see him as a guy that's going to be in the top 15? Do I see him as the guy's going to be in the top 15? I thought, I, I say, yeah, you know what? Yes, he will crack the top 15.
Starting point is 00:31:34 How far will he, how much further will he go? I don't know. Would you pick him in a fight against Michael Venom page? I wouldn't put anybody in a fight against Michael Bennett page. I just, I think he can beat anyone. I just, this is horrible. No, I wouldn't. I really would. No, I wouldn't either. But he's good. I mean, he's good.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Soriano was on a little bit of a heater. He was? Beat him pretty convincingly. That was a damn good performance. Listen, M.M.M.A. Math. Puna knocked out Euros Medici, man. I mean, Midech is a coin flip, but that's got to MMA math. It's got to transfer over to Daniel Dajenko a little bit.
Starting point is 00:32:10 So I think he is good. Is he great? Is he very good? I don't know. But he's good. Farno in the UFC. can't argue it. I am counting the finale fight.
Starting point is 00:32:19 I know some people don't, but it is an official UFC fight. So yeah, four and no counting that. Curtis Campbell, good for him, got the win. Boy, they could not have given him
Starting point is 00:32:27 a better matchup tonight. Trevor Peake has not fought in two years. It's coming off. I believe it was a pretty serious knee injury. Well, not coming off, I just to say that's, you know,
Starting point is 00:32:37 that's why he's been gone for so long. And, yeah, the grappling is like too much for him. And I think at 1.45, it will be. Yeah, he's, yeah he has not improved that ground game even a tiny bit he can get up he can get up he got booted right in the face so hard like 30 seconds into that fight that was so nasty but he just ate it and then he just got tackled and and just barbecued the rest of the fight so yeah good win
Starting point is 00:33:08 but i have serious questions about curtis campbell i mean serious questions i have no clue What his ceiling is, I don't, he's a mystery to me right now. The UFC pushes him like he's the top five best contender series fighter they've ever signed. The way they talk about him on the broadcast, I'm just like, am I, he could be. I just, I'm not seeing it just yet, especially after the debut performance, but he is very young. He's only 24.
Starting point is 00:33:37 So hopefully they don't rush him too much. Like, do you just give him Naim off at this point? Just keep giving him guys a good style. against for a little bit or I don't know I don't know I'm I've so many questions about him out of like all the guys are trying to push speaking of naeemov he did good for him did he did the job like you sure did the job he did the three second tan for uh low scene keda who really needed to have a highlight after like you know a disappointing performance against nathaniel would there's nothing wrong about losing to nathaniel would but it definitely I think people watch it were like it had more they felt like
Starting point is 00:34:11 Cato lost that fight more than Nathaniel would beat him. We just didn't see enough aggression and that was not an issue on the Saturday. He was clearly from the beginning, like not worried about Nymov coming forward and when you found the time of strike, he just put him away. Say what you will about the UFC
Starting point is 00:34:27 matchmaking and say what you will about how they line things up and boy I'm sure we're going to talk about 332 and whatever, the bones that they put together for that frigging card. But boy, do they not have to book a squash match they sure know how to book one
Starting point is 00:34:43 for the most part I mean they wanted Bellamere to squash Apodaca and that didn't happen but for the most part like when they want a squash match and a certain result to happen they know exactly how to do it and they did it here
Starting point is 00:34:55 and they did it in the main event too so good on them yeah I've said I'm a fan of the Paramount era matchmaking I don't know if it's because they moved to Paramount that there's been like a slight shift in the philosophy but like I said
Starting point is 00:35:06 I've had no problem in squash matches we've said the number of events have suffered a little bit again we'll get to that some of that has to do with the white house card is this thing we will say let's let's wait i would say let's wait till 2027 before we bring like this permanent statement about like oh well number cars will never be as strong as they were again ufc white house threw off a lot uh or at least the plans for ufc white house some of them you know were just didn't some of them fell through but the plans threw off a lot this year um so obviously 2027 what happens and we just
Starting point is 00:35:32 learned uh when our champions might not be competing for a while we'll get to that uh quick just comments about the prelims mike uh some disappointing performances from Morgan Chirier, Umar C, Umar C, especially. I do not know why this guy. That fight. If I, if someone was like pick one fight and break it down exactly how you think it's going to go,
Starting point is 00:35:50 I would have picked that one and that's exactly how I would have predicted. Umar always got to have moments and then he was going to fall apart and Baccaus was going to finish him in either the second or third round. It's exactly the way I looked at it. I almost, exactly how it was going to go. I almost pushed Jed to make that the climb bet this week. He would have killed me.
Starting point is 00:36:05 Oh. He would have killed me. If I had heard that, I would have called him on the phone and been like, nope. Take it past. Cash it out. Cash it out. He looked good.
Starting point is 00:36:13 They're like, he looked good early on. He was winning. He's clearly winning. Yep. He's, he's very, he's very, what's his face? Who's the lightweight who only had a round in him? Machuanamir Khan.
Starting point is 00:36:25 He's very Machuanamirconi-ish. It's like just the best one-round fighter you'll see in the division. But if it gets past there, he's, he's done so. And that's kind of what happened there. Mike Mario Pinto takes up Ryan Spant. Do they have something with Pinto? 4-0 in the other. Is it real? Good on the mic?
Starting point is 00:36:43 We'll see. We'll see. Clearly Ryan Span did not take this seriously. Oh, here we go. Nah, that's just what he does. Like, I took this camp seriously and look what I did. Yeah, he's good. Like, he's fine.
Starting point is 00:36:56 I don't know. It's, it's, I don't know how to gauge heavyweight talents at this point outside of like the guys they truly want to push. Like, we know how good gables going to be. And if they match make him appropriately and don't rush him too quickly, like, he's got the gift of gab and that's fun. I like the speech about defending his division, put some respect at our names,
Starting point is 00:37:19 but meet a little more. I mean, heavyweights come alive this year, that's for sure, like with Hokka and Blades, giving us the fight of the year so far in a lot of people's eyes and some other things that have happened along the way,
Starting point is 00:37:33 but we don't have a champion fighting anybody right now. So that kind of hurts. the evolution and development of the division, but he's trying, and that's really all we can ask for in the year of our Lord 2026 is a heavyweight goes out there and tries. Yeah, and very cool of him
Starting point is 00:37:53 to sort of try to pump up the whole division. Let's settle that. We're not that far removed from Moe Usman versus Hamdi, okay, we're not that far removed. That is one of the fights of the year, by the way. Well, no, but I mean, that was that this year? It can't be.
Starting point is 00:38:09 I just think it's still, I think it was last year. But I still think it's within like 12 months. Or it's just fresh in my mind. Maybe I'm the only one who still thinks about this fight. Okay. So it was a little over a year ago. That's not that long ago, guys. The division.
Starting point is 00:38:21 The division still needs help. Okay, the division still needs help. Yeah, Pavil Andrusca, we mentioned Nathaniel Wood earlier. Man, great. First, hats off to Andrusca. We knew he was a talent pretty much as soon as this fight was announced. Everyone in the media was like, this Andruska guy is good. What's happening to poor Nathania Wood?
Starting point is 00:38:38 But we didn't like the original matchup. He was supposed to fight Maron Santos. We're like, Nathaniel Wood has like, has he not earned a top 15 opponent? And he's getting Maron Santos a good fighter who's maybe in the top 30. And then Andrusca technically not even ranked because he's not even the UFC yet. So don't know what happened.
Starting point is 00:38:53 The result was not surprising. Like we said, Andrewska's very talented. Nathaniel Wood had so little to gain from this, even with a win. If he wins, sure, he beats an undefeated guy. He beats an undefeated guy that not too many fans are familiar with. And he loses. Now this happens. Mike, what's going on, man?
Starting point is 00:39:09 What's going on with that? I see some people who say in the comments. The two guys he beat are on the main card instead of him. It's true. It's so true. I don't know. I don't understand. Feel for the guy.
Starting point is 00:39:21 I mean, what can you say? He just, he said some things that didn't age well. And I see people. The problem is when you say the things you say, the internet is always undefeated. And look, I've said many things that I got wrong. And I always come on and put the hand up. and when Aaron Pico was booked for his recent matchup, it was Nathania Wood coming on and be like,
Starting point is 00:39:49 so this guy gets knocked out in his debut, beats a washed pit bull, and now he's on the main card of a pay-per-view. Like, I'm this record, what do I have to do? And then he goes out and fights a newcomer and gets dominated. Like, that fight was one-way traffic from the get-go. So, yeah, and that's the problem. with that is people are going to remember that and they're going to give him a bunch of crap for that.
Starting point is 00:40:13 And it's unfortunate a man because he's good. He's got some good wins. He's very Barbosa-ish when it comes to like level of competition. Like he is not taking easy fights whatsoever. Every guy he fights is very, very good in one way, shape, or form. And now we're like, where do you go from here? I just, I don't know. He's in a really tough spot.
Starting point is 00:40:36 He's in a real tough spot. And losing the way he lost the night. Like, it was the fight of the night and like lost a splitie. That's one thing. But he just got out, he got out class tonight by a guy who was making his debut on super short notice. And people aren't going to be very kind to him after this. And it sucks. But yeah, he's, he's got a long road to travel.
Starting point is 00:41:00 That's for sure. What's the highest ranked like fighter they've ever given him? Um, like actually ranked guy. I'm, yeah, possibly no one. It's probably never, but I mean,
Starting point is 00:41:13 like, if we're like, this is just, you know, keeping a broad internal rankings. Andre, Feeley? Um,
Starting point is 00:41:19 maybe John, when he fought John Castaneda, John Castaneda was, how was he doing? I mean, it was probably, no, he was slumping a little bit.
Starting point is 00:41:30 I mean, when he got into the UFC, like they were giving him, they were giving him, dudes. They gave John Dotson, like early. Then they gave him John Casson. They gave Casey Kenny, who, I mean, obviously that fight does not age particularly well, but at the time, like Casey Kenney was like a top six Bannamweight.
Starting point is 00:41:49 You know what I mean? Like he went on to fight Dominic Cruz, you know, he was on a tear. And then he moved up. Then he got Rosa and Jordane. And, I mean, Jordane, I think that win is aged pretty well, right? I know Jordane's dropped a division, but dude's done pretty well. And then since then, like, you know, Panato was on a bit of a run at the time. Delgado, obviously, is like a good, is like a pretty damn good win right now.
Starting point is 00:42:14 I guess, but they're not ranked, right? Like, they're not, when he fought them, these aren't guys with, like, big numbers next to their names. It's really, they never, they never wanted to give them that shot. They just never want to give an opportunity. So, yeah. I don't know. That's weird stuff. Weird stuff.
Starting point is 00:42:26 Okay. Fabious, Fabio, Fabio, Cigris to him, winning in his UFC debut, Nordic Connole, much-needed win. She was trying to defend her number. She's now going to hold on to that with a work-woman-like win. over Claudia Saguilla. Matthew to Klo, very nice debut for him as well. And Delphine Vanuasch has many times. I think she did great.
Starting point is 00:42:44 I think she could be real standout. So there we go, guys. That was UFC Paris. Overall, pretty good show. I don't think it was quite as good as Shanghai or Sacramento. But I think it has continued the UFC's run of really, really solid fight nights. Jed and now are talking about this on the preview show. Like I said, yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:04 And this is where we'll get to our UFC 332 talk. Yeah, the number of events are sketchy. There are very, very hit or miss, but I think they've done, I think the matchmakers and of course the fighters who end up on these cards have just done a phenomenal job with giving you a reason to tune in on a random Saturday, to a Paris, to a Shanghai, to Sacramento, to whatever. Maybe we'll go back to Apex soon, I guess. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:28 But we got a Noche card coming up on paper, not like the strongest card, I don't think, but I actually think that's going to turn up pretty good as well. So yeah, sorry, Mike, I didn't see that thing we put up on the screen. Was that about three? Yeah, here we go. In Toronto, every arrival is a statement, and nothing says it better than this. Cadillac Optic was the number one selling luxury EV in Canada for 2025. Find your rhythm across a seamless 33-inch display and an immersive 19 speaker AKG surround audio system. This city demands agility and optic delivers with precision to make every drive extraordinary.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Let's take the Cadillac. Find out more at Cadillac Canada.ca. Luxury sales claim based on S&P Global Mobility, Canadian New Vehicle Total Registrations for calendar year 2025 for the Cadillac definition of luxury. Cosmo Kramer $28.5. Thank you, Cosmo. Is UFC 332 the product of stacking 329, 331, 333. I can read.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Or something different like TKO, not wanting champions to stay busy due to lack of pay-per-view points. Wait a second. Hold on. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Are we saying we're stacking 331? Because I don't think, I mean, it's a fun card. But to call that like a stacked numbered event with a fight that would normally, and trust me, I want Josh Van versus Pants to more than most do.
Starting point is 00:44:50 I'm glad it's a main event. But in today's modern UFC, that is not a main event on most cards. They are co-maning with something else. in fact if Armand and Oliver are fighting like it wouldn't have shocked me if Armand Oliver was the main event over that fight but I don't know if I would put that in the like stacked category but yeah to kind of continue on that this 332 card is a mess like it's an absolute mess
Starting point is 00:45:19 and this is sort of what we expected right there are all the reports coming out and all that stuff maybe an interim fight we were trying to to figure out this whole situation as well. Like we were told nothing has been offered, nothing is this, nothing is that, trying to like close the gap on confirming all this news. All of a sudden, Shofchenko's out
Starting point is 00:45:41 for a year with an injury that threw everybody off. And now the fights for the undisputed flyway championship. Here's my problem, A.K. We knew we were getting a flyway title fine here. Pardon my French. Grayson, earmuffs. Earmuffs.
Starting point is 00:45:58 Yourmuffs. My best friend. please, please control yourself. How the fuck is Wang Tong getting a title shot at the undisputed belt? How is this happening? How is this happening? Seriously, you have Alexa Grasso and men on Fior getting ready to fight literally in a week. We can't take one of those ladies and pull them back into a title fight. You can't put Aaron Blanchfielders fighting Jasmine Jazz DeVizius.
Starting point is 00:46:22 We can't pull her into a title fight. Like there are three or four fighters way more deserving of a. a title fight than Wang Tong who looked good against Tracy Cortez. But like, come on, man. Like, we're just, this is for the undisputed flyweight championship. Come on, man. Like, this is insane. Alex de Grasso was the knockout of the year.
Starting point is 00:46:47 I know she was like on a bit of the Schneid, but like two of those losses were against Valencia, two of those fights against Valencia, Schenko. One was against, and then like Menon, Menon just, Medan gave Valentina like a super competitive fight and then she rents Jasmine Jazz DeVizzias. Like we can't tell her to fight three weeks later for the title against Natty Ice. I don't understand the matchmaking here.
Starting point is 00:47:10 I really don't. As bad as the card is, my biggest thing is like, yeah, interim belt, who gives a shit? But you're going to strip Valentina of the title and you're going to say the winner of this fight is with the sixth ranked fighter is for the undisputed title.
Starting point is 00:47:27 This is insane to me, AK. I can't believe this. Mike, you're getting Dana White-Read right now. I'm frustrated by this. This makes no sense to me. 3-1. 3-2-1. 1-2-3.
Starting point is 00:47:40 Are you Carl Winslowing me right now? What the heck? What the heck is wrong with me? It's bothering me. It's bothering me. I'm sorry. Yeah. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:47:49 You. You, UFC, you're bothering me. I just, I can't believe this is for the undisputed belt. Like this, this just makes it so much. worse. No disrespect to Wang. Like, she's probably like a winner two away from getting there, but like, there are just so many women ahead of her that
Starting point is 00:48:05 have fights booked. Not that they're like just fought a week ago. Like, they literally have fights booked in or around this event. I don't understand the matchmaking here. I don't understand why this is an undisputed title fight. I don't get it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:20 When we heard rumblings that Mountaine could be out and this could actually be undisputed. We were like, man, that's crazy. Okay, I guess CPL asked me to be the Prince of Positivity here, Mike. I'll do my best. I'll do my best. I'll do my best. Okay, first of all, most importantly, I almost forgot. Wang is on my fantasy team. I have an outside shot.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Oh, for God, sake. You're getting Mena Ben points for this? I'm a lucky punch away from getting a ranked win, a performance phone. And she already got me 150 points, like, the season. She could get me like 400 points total with one good punch, Mike. five rounds one good punch that's all I need she got to pop to her so that's most important two and they mentioned this in the broadcast and and I think we all thought about this when it was getting talked about there is the history with valentina you could sell that she won a
Starting point is 00:49:09 kickboxing match against valentina 11 years ago which I'm sure we all remember uh about that i don't know if that's online I'll be honest I've never seen it if it's available but valentine herself has said that she was uh well she's a little biased she said that judging was not accurate She said any flight. She said, going to a decision, she had no chance because they fought in China. I don't know. That's Valentina's words. It's not my words.
Starting point is 00:49:30 But there's at least kind of a storyline there. So even though I expect Wong to be a sizable underdog, if she pulls it off against Natty Ice, she'll, you know, she'll have that storyline in her pocket. She'll have some intrigue with her and Valentina. And thirdly, Mike, thirdly, we like Natty Ice. We like Natty Ice. You know, we have said she should have, you know, she should have been able to fight for the title. earlier. The timing never quite worked out. Like, I wouldn't have given her the shot over Zhang. We all
Starting point is 00:49:57 watch Sejong versus Valentina, so I understand it wasn't like there was a shoe-in moment. But it felt like Natty kind of, I feel like she's, I think I have her ranked top three or top four. Like, I think she should be, Natty should absolutely be in this side. She is totally worthy. I think she's totally worth. Like, if she becomes champion, I'll be very
Starting point is 00:50:13 excited about it. I think she's great. I'd love to see her fight Valentina. So, and that aspect that's cool. Now, being realistic, though, you're right. Is this a main, it just sounds so weird to put this as the main on a numbered card. And as much to be like Natty Ice, I think you and I would both agree, not exactly a fight of the night like, you know, person every time she goes out there. Great technical striker. I think somewhat fun to watch. But she doesn't have a history of like
Starting point is 00:50:37 super, super exciting memorable fights. I will concede that. I will concede that as a Natalia Silva fan. And now you're saying that this is a main event against, again, respectfully to Wang, an underqualified contender. This could get ugly. This could get ugly. I don't know how the crowd's going to react. It could get real ugly. Guys, I just want to add to this. Utah, the Salt Lake City, they are paying the UFC millions of dollars to come to their city. And this is what they get.
Starting point is 00:51:10 This is what they get. Let's take a look at this. Can we look at this win street? I think of it. I think it to break down the card. But yeah, go ahead. Oh, we're going to break it down in the second. Okay, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:51:18 Wang Tong has earned an undisputed title fight. by beating Bruno Brazil, Ariani Lipski, Eduardo, which, by the way, she missed weight for that fight. And this is this year. This is this year in 2026. She missed weight. And Tracy Cortez, that is her four-fight win streak. After getting submitted by Gabriella Fernandez in November of 2024.
Starting point is 00:51:45 And this is for the undisputed championship. This is bananas. This is absolutely bananas. Here's the rest of the card in case you guys missed it. Co-main event, Peyton Talbot versus Davis and Figurato. That is the co-main event of this event. Roman Copulov versus the Tava Gotea is the featured bout. King Green, Esabon-Rievich, sign me up, banger.
Starting point is 00:52:06 Chaos Williams versus the debuting Roberto Soldeach. Fine. Like, Soleditch is fun. Chaos is the perfect opponent for what is about to happen in this fight. He is going to get laid out by Roberto Soleditch, no doubt about it. I know they were reporting this earlier yesterday. I was told the deal was not done until like last night, like several hours after it got reported because there were some paperwork issues and travel stuff that they had to take care of, but they got it done late last night. Then we go to the prelims, AK.
Starting point is 00:52:38 We're going to the prelims for some heavy weighty action between Mick Parkin and Johnny Walker. Oh, baby. Aiding Korea who I like, Alden, Korea versus Eminald Rodriguez. is Damien Pinos, Andre Pulaev, I do like that fight. The Swan Son fight, song fight for Court McGee against Eric Nolan, Marvin Vittori versus Ishmael Nardiev, Alexander Hernandez versus Hopiol dos Santos, Marcus Begui versus Bernardo Supai, which I actually like, but the most important fight of all, AK.
Starting point is 00:53:11 TBD versus TBD is on the prelims. I don't know if you saw the graphic, TBD versus TBD. I'm more intrigued by what TBD versus TBD is going to be more than the main event right now. And that's a problem. That's a problem. Is that not to be confused with Anthony Wind versus TBD? Or is that also a separate thing?
Starting point is 00:53:33 Do they put that up there? So I see people talking about it. I saw someone mention it in the comments. Cosmo Cramer said TBD versus Anthony Ware. But I thought there was that and a TBD versus TBD. Oh, maybe. Maybe I missed it. I was so like thrown off that this is for the undisputed title.
Starting point is 00:53:47 and Valentina suddenly was, Valentina side was, we haven't been offered anything to, she's out for a year all of a sudden. Like this whole thing is so bananas. This is crazy. It's shaky. And, you know,
Starting point is 00:54:00 as you ran down the card, Mike, as usual as these things, when I have a chance to, like, look at the matchups and think about them. I actually, like, didn't mind it.
Starting point is 00:54:06 But I would definitely feel much more comfortable praising this card if it were UFC Salt Lake City. Exactly. Fight night, as opposed to a number of event. But I guess there's no real difference these days. And this event,
Starting point is 00:54:17 It's going to air on CBS. Did I see that as well? The main card? Yes, main card at 8 p.m. Eastern, by the way, which I love that. That's kind of cool. That's kind of cool. And guys, I'm not absolving the matchmakers of, like, I agree. This is from our history of what we consider, like, a numbered event, it's weak.
Starting point is 00:54:36 It is very weak. I can't not look at it and just go like, what is this? How could they sell this at an event? Or is like Mike said, sell this to a city that has paid millions to have this event in their you know, in there, they're city. We'll get you next time, guys. Gosh, yeah, I guess so.
Starting point is 00:54:51 Boy. So, yeah, we don't want to disrespect any of Flieson's card. We don't want to respect Wang and Natia Silva. But, yeah, this is, this is how it is these days, right? This is what they tweeted when they announced this card. Breaking news, a must-see card
Starting point is 00:55:06 filled with the stars of tomorrow. Okay. You're the first time ever, watch the entire UFC 332 main card live and free on CBS. Wing Tong is 34 years old. Davis and Figurato is the star of tomorrow? What are we talking about here? I don't paint all that, but like, um,
Starting point is 00:55:24 wow, I'm just looking at some of these. I'm trying to find who these stars. King Green. They have, look at Damon Pinas, go T.A. May Bernardos supply.
Starting point is 00:55:35 It's just they haven't been matched up with. Oh, okay. Now, okay. So on the broadcast, okay. So on the broadcast, it was TBD versus TBD.
Starting point is 00:55:43 Now I'm seeing on this graphic, it's Anthony Winn versus TBD. So that's fine. The lowest ranked heavyweight on planet Earth is who you throw them in there with. He's already fighting Gable Steebison. How dare you? He's not available, Mike. He's not available.
Starting point is 00:56:01 Oh, yeah. Oh, you're talking of Sean Chiraff. No, it's, no. Sean Chiraf is not the worst heavyweight of the UFC. If it's Pucce. Axeinez. If it's Pucce, I will, I will piss myself. I will urinate.
Starting point is 00:56:15 in my pants if it is. Can we get, is Moe who's been suspended for something? Yeah, see, well, you won't be seeing him until 2028. 2028, Mike. Oh, geez, he's out for a long as time. Sorry, Mo. Yeah, it's going to be somebody he's going to absolutely obliterate. Terrence Chapman.
Starting point is 00:56:30 Oh, no, he just beat up Terrence Chapman. I'll beat him up again. Sorry, I was blindly looking at my rankings and starting out names that happens. We will be doing a watch party for this event, regardless. Here's what I'll, here's one last thing I'll say about this. Yeah, yeah. Number one, PFL, you should probably book an event for this day. This is like the one time you want to kind of kind of program the UFC.
Starting point is 00:56:49 And RAF should just like call back the Fountain Blue in Las Vegas. It'd be like, can we just rebook our event for the original date of August 2nd or whatever this card is October 3rd, whatever it is? Just get that date back. You're not interfering with anything here. So it's on CBS, Mike. It is on CBS and good for them. Real quick, Joseph Moses says, is there frustration with 332 mainly because Valentina
Starting point is 00:57:15 is injured. No, Joseph, I'll tell you something. When the rumor was Valentina versus Natalia Silva, people weren't exactly like thrilled with that either. Even when that was the rumor, people were like, what? The main for like QC-332? So I hate to say it. It's just like no no
Starting point is 00:57:31 version of this flyweight title fight that we were getting was like we were all thought maybe co-main, but then it came very clear or like what could be the main? We have no idea. Who's healthy? Who's available? Who isn't already booked? It's tough, man. It's tough. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:57:46 All right, Mike. Yeah, we can get to some of these. All right, let's get to some of these start comments. Cosmo Kramer. What's up again? $1.99. Five and one in the UFC, but MVP has no reason to blame but himself. Totally true.
Starting point is 00:57:56 Totally true. He's a good fighter. He knows out of win fights. I'm actually glad you brought this one up, Mike, and Cosmo, because we have, I'm just throwing our Slack, Michael Venom's post-fight sort of comments. And I'm just at a glance, apparently, he said, I want to give more. And as the UFC news captured it, he's happy to get the win. but is seeking more thrilling results in the future.
Starting point is 00:58:18 You won't fool this again, Mike, Michael Page. You won't fool us again. He was saying that going into this, wasn't he saying that going to this fight? Yes, after the St. Patterson fight. You know what's funny is when the fight started, like literally when the fight started, he went into like roots of vibe. He had this look on his face like, all right, let's go, bro. Like, we're going to battle.
Starting point is 00:58:39 And he went in through a kick as hard as he could. And then it got caught and he got taken down in five seconds. And I'm like, dang it. You're Saltin. Like, it ruined the whole thing. And then once he was down, he spent the whole, basically the entirety of the first round on his back.
Starting point is 00:58:52 And then it's just like, okay, we're back to regular old MVP where we're just going to go and try to eke out a win somehow. And, who, tough scenes. Hike,
Starting point is 00:59:04 heck, your counterpart, Mike. Hello, Mr. A. Keeley. Hi, birthday to you. Thank you, sir. Respectfully, any updates on the tough season 10 watch along.
Starting point is 00:59:11 Okay, so hike is always asking, am I to do a season 10 watch along. man that's such a dream project i would love to again one of the ways i got involved in in may writing uh was doing a lot of like uh ultimate fighter just weekly weekly recaps and then uh some retro retro ones which i did with the great the daily departed punisher punisher best um so yeah i've always kind of want to revisit that season so fun one of the last like truly truly great entertaining ultimate fighter seasons so i don't know i'm i'd probably have to figure
Starting point is 00:59:40 out a format find the time for it but yeah it's a very cool idea i would love to look back on that season and some other ultimate fighter seasons frankly it'd be very fun by the way but going back to 332 paula cost has been saying some interesting things uh in for instance ufc could put the light heavyweight interim belt on the line for this i told them but they refused to do so he's been saying that and replying to everybody we'll see that's a story yeah i don't know okay what else we got mike our ace boogie thank you for the 499 uh who's had a more disappoint don't disappoint any showing today
Starting point is 01:00:14 Mansor or Um what was that? Did Mansor just lose? Oh yeah. He lost two. Oh, Dustin Stoltz's. Okay. You got brought over by
Starting point is 01:00:26 Dustin Stoltz. Okay, I'm going to say Umar just because every time because Umar, if you just look at the odds, he's been a favorite in a lot of the fights that he's lost. Pretty sure he was favorite against Kuchelapa too. And he just lost that fight. Menser, of course, was favorite against Stolzvitz.
Starting point is 01:00:41 The Belgarui fight. I don't think he was a huge favorite. I think people knew that Belgrade was a lot more experienced in him. It's just like also a huge dude. So I don't remember that one being as shocking. Maybe it's because I had picked Belgari to win, but I don't think I was the only one in that. He was a slight favorite.
Starting point is 01:00:58 So yeah, so I'm definitely saying Umar is more, more disappointing. I think people know that Abdul Malik is like a work in progress. And maybe Umar is too to some degree, but I think we're a little more accepting of Mansour's losses. That's just my opinion. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:01:11 Maybe Mensa has more hyperandum. him, I'm not sure. Certainly when you're Umar and you lose in Paris, but he doesn't get more disappointed in a fight that you're winning. Tough. Ace Boogie again, man, Ace Boogie. Thank you so much. 999 from Ace Boogie.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Good on MVP for admitting his style and he's changed, but that dog will not learn new tricks. Best for both sides to Yvonne. Yeah, exactly. It's one thing to say it, but at some point you have to have action. Okay. And I understand this. I annoyed a lot of people in my life with my saying,
Starting point is 01:01:40 I'm going to do things and they're not following through. he's had six chances of the UFC guys six chances of the UFC to show he's turned over a new leaf and I'm going for finishes and I'm pushing the pace and it can have an ace buggy you're right it is best for both sides to move on and he'll have no shortage of promotions looking for his services
Starting point is 01:01:55 trust me yeah what was the other I saw Joseph ask earlier wanting call out grades for Parnasse calling out Holloway and yeah to calling out
Starting point is 01:02:10 Lorone Murphy What do you think? I'm totally on team Lorone Murphy with this with like dude you're one and one in the UFC
Starting point is 01:02:18 like let's have a little respect totally on the Roan Murphy's side here like can we walk before we run a little bit like let's relax they gave you they gave you
Starting point is 01:02:28 remember we're talking about like the UFC knows how to book a squash match this is exactly what they did it's exactly what it was we knew the second they announced this fight this is how it was going to end
Starting point is 01:02:38 and the Sally was great but like let's chill a little bit. How about we chill a little bit? I did not like that call. Love the Max callout. I don't think he gets it. But I love it.
Starting point is 01:02:52 I love the Max, the Max callout. I would have loved the Usen callout. That's just my thing. I want somebody just to call out who's been a magam made up. It's just a great callout right now. But yeah, man,
Starting point is 01:03:02 good call up. Like Parnas versus Holloway would be sick. The good thing is, Mike, I don't have you heard. It's a little matchmaking show. the end may fighting does it's called on to the next one so we'll have i think we'll have proper suggestions for saline parnettus you're gonna match make for campbell don't we we do curtis campbell los ceda uh uh we'll discuss michael venom page we'll just i i we've had to we bet to veto
Starting point is 01:03:29 he's not maybe he's not going to be the oc for his next way i'm calling that now they should they should just they should just be done with the relationship amicable split But yeah, he got good. He got good pay. He got more exposure. They got six. They got a lot of rounds of Michael. He gave them their monies worth time-wise, Mike.
Starting point is 01:03:51 Okay. He went the distance every time. He did not stift them on the amount of minutes that was in that contract. He gave them every minute that he signed on for. My matchmaking pick will be Michael Page versus Robbie Lawler in a grappling match for hype FC. Isn't he actually doing REF? He's doing, what's he doing?
Starting point is 01:04:11 He's RIFing, right? He's RIFing. I guess who? He is R a Fing again. Another M.M.A. fighter. No? Yes. Who is it?
Starting point is 01:04:23 He is Riafing against. We were all scratching. Alexander Schlamenco. MVP, God bless you. God bless you. God bless you. I hope to make more money. I know he's done,
Starting point is 01:04:35 made good money in fighting. And I hope he keeps making more money. and frankly, keep staying healthy. I know that leads to his boring fights, but listen, the guy's not trying to get brain damage in there. Side to all of us. Yeah, but bad stuff, bad run in the UFC, I'll tell you. Not my favorite.
Starting point is 01:04:48 I see we got Chef Nerdman. Do you see this super chat? Mike, I think we've got one super chat hanging around in there. I'll just read it out if you can't see it. Yeah, it might be messy. It might have been when Jed was on, so I'd be a little, I'm not sure what happened with it. Not seeing it, but please read it.
Starting point is 01:05:01 So, Chef Nerdman, a $1.99 says, this confused me at first. Rose got robbed out of a title fight. for MMA decisions. So I had to look back. I assumed, oh, right,
Starting point is 01:05:09 he was talking about the Natalia Silva fight, which maybe I wasn't watching this fight closely. I didn't remember it being a robbery, but now I go to M.A. decisions,
Starting point is 01:05:17 and I see a lot more nominee scores than I see the entire silver scores. Mike, I don't know if you had a... I thought Natty won. It was a terrible fight. I thought Natty squeaked it out,
Starting point is 01:05:27 but it was close and forgetable. Yeah. Yeah. Who knew? But one judge changes, changes all of this. This would be Rose versus Wang Tong.
Starting point is 01:05:38 Jesus Christ. That'd be amazing. Oh, my God. I mean... It almost happened. Wow. Can you imagine being Menon Fior and watching Rose Nameda Unis leap over you and fight for the belt?
Starting point is 01:05:51 Oh, golly. That'd be hilarious. And Jed saved another comment. I don't if you saw this one. Well, it's two Jed. So, well, one of us will have to play Jed here, Mike. Yes. From Pulverizer, JJ.
Starting point is 01:06:03 Jed, huge kudos. Last week, you had to eat crow. but you're one of the few Eminia not saying that Dan deserves more respect to these odds. Indicate Parnass absolutely eviscerated him. Yeah, I could see when we were doing the preview show. You know, he kind of threw it to me to say,
Starting point is 01:06:15 like, does Dan Hooker have a chance? And I kind of had to come up with all these reasons. And he did not look convinced. I think he knew all along that Parnass might be a little bit too much for Dan Hooker. And that certainly played out. I also, and when I say this, I don't want to, I'm not taking anything away from Parnaz because I picked, I went on the People's Pre Fight Show,
Starting point is 01:06:35 and I picked Dan Hooker. I was just like, it was just more of respect thing. I thought the lines were insane. I also didn't think Dan was like, rinsed, rinsed. I didn't think he was on like
Starting point is 01:06:45 the third wash cycle at this point. And clearly he was. And again, this to me was just brilliant matchmaking by the UFC. This is how you put a guy over. And the only other way that, the only way that it would have been better is if it was Michael Chandler
Starting point is 01:07:04 and there instead. Like, because that, it just would have been more of a highlight real. But yeah, Dan was, was perfect. But, yeah, I saw this. Cate didn't call Murphy for his next fight. He said there's a warning shot. He's coming for him at some point. But again, I'm fully with Lorone Murphy here.
Starting point is 01:07:26 Like, dude, let's get a couple wins under your belt. And then you can start mentioning my name. Like, totally, Lauren Murphy has earned the right. to say that. He has earned the right to say that. So there you go. Mike, before we head off, any, I know, I don't know how much of RAF you watched.
Starting point is 01:07:45 Jed and I had not seen any, so we couldn't comment on that. Watch the entire event. I know you watched the entire event. I know you live blog, LeMayne. Give us, what are your thoughts on their debut? This was the debut, right, for show in Moscow? Yeah, is their second international event.
Starting point is 01:07:57 They had some big names on there. They had, I mean, a lot of their usual, like, you know, champions, Olympians and NCAA champions. and then, of course, some Russian stars, obviously, for the Moscow debut. And then one Mr. Hamzat Shamaia versus Tyron Woodley. So how was it? It was fine. Like, it was fine.
Starting point is 01:08:17 They messed up for sure, not giving this to, like, everybody to watch. The non-VPN users of the world in the United States could not watch this card. So I was able to pull that off. Shout out to the free trials out there. but yeah it was good man like hamzad just obliterated tyron woodley like matches like somewhat competitive for a minute then you could tell like tyrant couldn't get anywhere near him the second homzad put tyrant on his back you pinned him like two seconds later so yeah it was impressive stuff i don't think anybody thought tyrant woodley at any chance i thought maybe we'd get like a tech
Starting point is 01:08:55 fall maybe in the second round or something but yeah man just just ran his ass over so yeah good Sharra Bullet got a win and got so tired. It was unbelievable. Atatoly Malkin, the dream dies of becoming R.F. champion and adding to the mantle, he got run over tonight as well. And yeah, they did a lot of squash matches too. Kennedy Blades went out there. Kyle Dake had a good win.
Starting point is 01:09:27 And there's one other match that I wanted to talk about real quick. Because I think the co-man. What was the co-man? Bonickel. No, not because he wasn't, but I'm sorry. Bonico, one. That was a shot July of Bronicle fight. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:42 The Kyle Snyder, Ted Zudanoff match, I think, like, if you are an actual wrestling fan and you watch all of R.A.F, even watching every event, I think Snyder, Todd Tudanoff was the best RIF match of, like, their entire. promotions history. It was sick. Like it was high level stuff. Incredible. Like it was a really good match.
Starting point is 01:10:09 So like when they release this to the U.S. audience next week, obviously you've probably seen the Shamiya were the highlight by now. But if you want to just go back and watch one wrestling match, go watch that one. It's friggin sick. It's an awesome wrestling match.
Starting point is 01:10:24 There I go. When's our next show? September 18th. Was the 19th, but they realized that's the same day as 331, so they moved it back a day. So that's going to be a crazy week, man. Is Colby?
Starting point is 01:10:38 Is Colby? No. Colby Belal. Colby Belal. Homiaa versus Gilbert Burns 2. So we're going to get Colby and Hamzot on the same stage in the same room in the same arena multiple times. What is suggesting?
Starting point is 01:10:51 What is suggesting, Mike? Shenanigans. There's going to be some shenanigans. So if like Hamzot wins and Colby wins, which I, I'm here to tell you that both of those things are going to happen. We're going to be at a press conference at the end of the night featuring Bronstine, Bischoff, Izzy, Colby, Hamzot, shenanigans. And heck will be there. And heck will be there. I will be in Miami.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Heck will be there. It will be a time. Yeah, I'm going to get the whole promotional bandit. Gambit. I'm getting the Coker FC launch on the Tuesday of that week to see what that's all about. what Scottie Koch's cooking up over there with Coker FC so yeah it's gonna be a pretty while a week so yeah it's that and then they're in Vegas in October and Chicago and November also we got a couple more super chats coming in
Starting point is 01:11:43 thank you J-Dash 8813 for the $5 it's huge MVP fool me once shame on you full me twice shame on me fool us six times shame on the UFC also I can't imagine Parnasse versus Patty the size difference yeah that'd be kind of interesting to see
Starting point is 01:11:58 but yeah it looks like everyone's you now I should have put a poll. Will MVP fight in the UFC again? I probably would have been close to 100% no, would be my guess. And it was, do you want to? It would definitely be 100% no. Chef Nerdman.
Starting point is 01:12:14 Well, we've got to see Chef Nerdman as well. Thoughts at $1.99. Thank you, Chef Nerdman, again. Now it's on Katie Taylor's Last Fry in the Sun. I wax poetic a little bit about this at the beginning, but I will just say, like, again, could not have had a better farewell. I hope she is done for good and is happy and is wealthy and is healthy.
Starting point is 01:12:28 because it was just we just don't really have an equivalent for that in MMA yet. I think they've done a better job with like video packages, certainly when, you know, people get their Hall of Fame accolades. But again, you just can't match the grandeur, the spectacle, and the production that they put into this finale. It was just all built around her. It felt like a big deal. It was a big deal.
Starting point is 01:12:48 So many big names and celebrities got involved. It was really, really great. It didn't drag it all either. Some boxing events tend to do. It felt like, for me, just the right pacing. Mike, I don't know if you got to see any of the Katie Taylor for well. I said some highlights. There's so much going on
Starting point is 01:13:03 with UFC and everything like that. And yeah, again, matchmaking squash matches perfect here. Like, she wasn't going to go out there and get a knockout, but she went out there and did what Katie Taylor does. Like, she played the hits
Starting point is 01:13:18 for 10 rounds. I don't think, you know, I got to go back and rewatch it from all the highlights that I saw. It seems like she didn't lose a single round. I think one judge probably had her losing maybe around or something. I thought I saw like a 98 scorecard in there. I gave Peeley a couple, but I had no problem with 190. There's 290 scores.
Starting point is 01:13:36 I was like, yeah, I didn't have an issue with that at all. Yeah, so good for her, man. Like Croke Park, they finally made it happen and seemed like the scenes are great. The entrance looked incredible. She left the gloves in the middle of the ring. And, you know, not all the time do we feel like a combat sports athlete is going to leave their gloves and we believe it.
Starting point is 01:13:56 but with her, I believe it. I think she is boxinged out. There's nothing more she can accomplish in the sport. Farewell. I mean, just poetic. Nobody throw money at Katie Taylor.
Starting point is 01:14:09 Leave her alone. Let her enjoy her retirement. She ain't coming back. I don't care how much money you throw it at her. I think she's coming back. I don't know these days, Mike. I just don't know.
Starting point is 01:14:17 Thank you everyone for who joined. Right? You have CPJJ. Thank you, everyone, who tuned in for the show. Oh, it's kind of weird. These like midday ones. have another midday one next week a little bit later 2 p.m. E.T. 5 p.m. main card on on Paramount Plus, no show you have C. We won't do the rundown guys because you can get a rundown
Starting point is 01:14:38 when you tune into on to the next one. Mike I think we'll record Sunday this week, right? Should I tell me we'll recording Sunday? Yeah, we can record. I don't assume. I might not. Yeah, we'll probably recording Sunday, guys. We'll have an episode at the end of those. Of course, Mike always has a rundown looking ahead. So look forward to that. And I just want to remind people before we head out. Download the SB Nation app, guys, because we are having great conversations on the app. The live game feeds are so, so easy to use, and I'm really, really enjoying them.
Starting point is 01:15:06 I'm not always jumping into the comments. I think in the past, you guys have seen our results page at Namingfine.com. Yeah, we have a comment section, but it's a little clunky sometimes when you're trying to do live. You can still access that through the app, if you like, so you can leave comments through there. But we also have the live chat, which are great. And also just a lot of good feed content in general. Like some people are throwing out great comments from there. I think someone was asking who's the best coach
Starting point is 01:15:27 and someone was like, what's the worst injury you've ever suffered? It's all over the place, guys. It's all over the place to feed. Get in there. And also, hey, if you're not just an M.A. fan and you're interested in other sports like me, unfortunately following Tottenham Hotspur,
Starting point is 01:15:40 but also loving the Blue Jays coverage and Toronto Raptors, all that good stuff. Very easy to flick through on the app. Cannot recommend it enough. Download today, only available in the U.S. right now, but I think that they're working. They're working on getting in other markets. but definitely check yeah get it it's a great app very easy to use convenient and uh you can watch
Starting point is 01:16:01 the fights while you're doing this while you're talking shit yes beautiful thing you could do both at the same time very very easily mic raw multi screening what's one more what's one more yeah then you can go like if you're a fan of like ohio state or something you could jump on like the michigan college football teams live feed and just talk a whole bunch of crap like it's awesome if you're a yankees fan yeah you could jump on the red side Chad and start ripping on the Red Sox fans. I might be in there under a different name. Who knows?
Starting point is 01:16:30 But yeah, might have a little burner on the Boston sports team. So, yeah, get the app. It's very cool. It's very fun. And,
Starting point is 01:16:36 yeah, fight nights will never be the same. That's for sure. So, AK, we'll see tomorrow, buddy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:41 Thank you, everyone for Mike and also Jed, hopefully gets his power back. And myself and NBA fighting, we are signing up. We'll talk to you. We'll talk to you very, very soon.

Starting point is 01:17:34 MMA boxing, not me, but you, pro wrestling, Mike. It is a community-based app. It's all about community with the new It's so easy to use and it can keep obviously combat sports fans connected to their favorite teams and all of sports too across the board so I can keep up with the Red Sox the Patriots and the Bruins all on my phone and it's so simple to use yeah like you you mentioned those teams but
Starting point is 01:17:59 there's so much more because I don't care about Boston sports Mike but I get to follow the NFL all the other sport F1 the various sports that I care about outside of combat sports and then there's the live experience because that's, to me, that's one of the coolest things. You can chat with us during fight cards every Saturday and you can chat with other people in the communities as big events are happening. So it's, it's a really good time. So ladies and gentlemen, come fight with us over on the all new SBNation app. Download it today. Download it right now. What are waiting for? Download it.
