podcast network.
All right, everybody.
Kind of crazy stuff went down at the world's most famous Apex.
And normally that is not a sentence that comes out of our mouths on a post-fight show
that takes place at the world's most famous Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
But we were seconds away from the main event between Aaron Blanchfield and Macy Barber
from starting.
We went to the first.
promo package. We went through everything. We're ready to go. We got to that moment where the screen
sort of fizzled from the end of the promo back into the octagon. But instead of going into the
octagon, we went back to the desk. We went back to the booth. We saw Brennan Fitzgerald. We saw
a very concerned Laura Sanko. We saw a very concerned Daniel Cormier. And Brennan Fitzgerald says,
Macy Barbara was supposed to be walking out to the octagon right now. But she's not there.
we're going to go to commercial break and then we'll come back and we'll let you know what's going
on so now everybody's scrambling wondering what the hell is going on we come back from break
brennan fitzgerald seems a little bit cheery a little bit positive on his open back and then
the mood changed to sadness because he said guys fights off it's just not happening
macy barbara and erin blanchfield aren't fighting so we don't know what's
going on. There's rumor and innuendo. Some people are saying seizures. Some people are saying
she was close to walking out and then turned back around. I don't know. My best friend,
Alexander Kay Lee, also doesn't know. And he joins us right now after one of the
strangest endings. I mean, dude, this is this is peak 2025 for the UFC. Is it not? Jeez, Louise.
is strange ending to what would have been what would have been like an otherwise forgettable card um
like some of the action we thought tonight was decent but this was textbook like oh well we won't be
talking about this two days from now now this becomes i think one of the bigger stories of the first
you know half of the ufc calendar um again i i understand it's a fight night main event it's it's
it's not like it's two of the biggest stars in the company so you know okay maybe you'll forget
out this by uh by the time you know the ufc 317 rolls around you know the end of international
fight week but
I do think it's something we'll be looking back on, especially if you if you care very much about the career of one Macy Barber.
If you care about the careers of fighters in general, this was a really scary thing to see.
I actually had like, so I'm watching on my TV and I've got a computer in front of me.
I've got a TV up ahead.
And I actually had it on mute.
I had the TV on mute.
So I wasn't really in tune to what was happening.
But, you know, when you watch enough, you guys know we do this for a living.
When you watch enough shows, you get like an, you have an internal clock.
You get kind of an internal vibe for like, oh, okay, well, main events pop it up about now.
And then something just feels off.
So then, of course, I see they're going to the desk.
They're on the desk for quite a while.
And then I turned on.
And I caught it just as Brendan Fitzgerald said, yes, Macy Barber is not walking out.
We're not sure why.
They had time to go to a commercial.
When they came back from the commercial, that pretty much confirmed that the fight was canceled.
So scary stuff.
Yeah, only speculation so far.
We do want to, we do want to emphasize only speculation.
We've had some people, Aaron Blanchfield spoke on it.
She said Hunter Campbell told her something about.
Macy Barber's medical condition.
But again, this is just what we know so far, some sort of medical issue.
And considering that Macy Barber, again, has had a pass with this medical issue, which again, has been largely undefined.
And that's fine.
That is her and her family's business.
You can understand why it's a little bit scary.
Now it's suddenly a little bit scary to have it right in front of us, right?
She's been out of action since March of 2024.
This was supposed to be her big comeback.
We were all hoping that these medical issues were in her past.
And perhaps whatever happened today is unrelated.
Again, we do not know.
But I understand the conclusions that people are trying.
I understand the lines that people are connecting.
And really at the end, we just have to hope that Macy Barber is okay.
Yeah, I mean, that's really it.
I mean, she got her hands wrapped.
She was ready to go.
And, I mean, they literally said she was at the tunnel.
The promo was playing.
She was getting ready to walk out.
and then she turned around and went back to the locker room.
And that was kind of it.
And again, there is rumors.
There's stuff going around.
There's what Aaron Blanchfield said.
There's what others people have said.
And it's just kind of a bummer right now because here's the thing that that is tough.
And it's, you can call it unfair and it probably is.
The whole fight week build, the entire build to this fight had to do with Aaron Blanchfield's interview with our own
Damon Martin, where Aaron Blanchfield said, I have to admit, I don't, I'm not confident Macy
Barber is going to make it to the fight. And that turned into literally the entire story for this.
And Macy spoke with me earlier this week and said, that's all she can say. She's got nothing
else to say. And then Macy shows up at Wayans, Mrs. Wait, she looked terrible up there.
But, you know, even looking at the Getty images as I was doing social media stuff today,
Macy's in the back, getting their hands wrapped up.
And she looked fine.
Like, she looked good to go.
She looked focused.
She had a social media post five hours ago saying,
okay, we're all shook up.
We're ready to go.
We're heading to the world's most famous apex, essentially.
And we're going to go fist to cuffs.
We're going to go to 15 and 2.
It's crazy.
Like, it's just crazy that this has happened.
And that the entire storyline for the build to this fight,
everything that all the commentator said,
all the media members said,
all the questions about this was, will Macy Bar make it to the fight?
Because Aaron Blanchfield isn't 100% sure you'll make it there.
Full circle with five seconds left, she did make it there.
It's crazy how this all went down, AK.
Yeah, let's add in, you know, Macy Barber, she missed weight on Friday.
Not by a large amount, but by half a pound, though the fact that it wasn't a large amount,
did have people wondering why she didn't take a second attempt.
This was like, you know, this is under sort of new Vegas rules, right?
where you get the first hour,
and then if you can get cleared by the doctor and by the commission,
then you get a second hour.
But she went up,
use the box,
you know, stripped down,
use the box,
still couldn't get down to 0.5.
And then that was it,
technically one way in attempt.
So that had people a little kind of shaky on what was going to happen.
And we had kind of said,
well,
we've seen before in the past when there's weight cutting issues,
you know,
then you get that you've got your eye on the,
like UFC news or on reporters,
like Saturday morning,
Saturday afternoon,
like,
man really hoping that that fight cancellation doesn't happen so we've been on high alert for i mean
most of the past 24 hours i think we just finally let our guard down mike by the time the main event
was actually about to start i don't know if anyone any of us thought well you know after gamrod's
fight was over i don't think any of us thought well there's still a chance that's not going to happen
and uh and here we are so uh yeah guys we're still we're still looking for answers i do see a lot
people in the comments saying it was this it was definitely that again really no one knows for sure a lot
there's a lot of kind of broken telephone going on.
What Aaron Blanchfield said is what she said,
Hunter Campbell told her.
So, I mean, Hunter Campbell, I feel like I'll give a reliable source,
but we don't know where he heard it from.
We don't know if he was, you know,
if he has a firsthand account of it or someone told him,
and then he told Aaron Blanchfield.
So, again, I would, I would warn people to, like,
be very definitive about exactly what happened because we don't know.
And even in the scenario, guys,
where it's not some severe physiological condition,
And let's say it was a mental issue.
I think we should all be glad that she didn't come out to fight that.
If it was so severe that she felt like she could not fight,
the last thing we would have wanted Macy is to come out and fight under those conditions.
So whatever the situation is, I understand people are frustrated.
I understand people want to take shots of fighters who don't step out when they're scheduled to do so,
especially under such bizarre circumstances.
But I would say, please, just choose empathy, choose understanding.
And if it turns out to be something stupid and trivial,
you can make fun of macy barbara all you want but i think right now we can take it pretty seriously
and i think we can we can assume that uh she didn't fight for good reason yeah i mean and look
trust me aka you can attest to this as well telephone telegraph telefighter but by the time it gets
to tell another person it's a completely different story so we just don't know and hopefully
macy goes to instagram and post something and like it lays it all out
but as as tough as this situation is,
we,
we,
we feel for both Aaron Blanchfield and Macy Barber,
and we'll talk about Aaron Blanchfield in the second.
This is the UFC, AK.
And while everybody feels bad about what happened with Macy Barber and everything that went down,
this is tough scenes.
Even if it's a health issue,
I mean, look at what happened with Arm and Sarukian.
Arm and Sarukian the day before a main event fight,
injured himself,
had a medical issue, could not fight his Zamakachev.
His stock, his reputation has not recovered since.
In fact, he had a grappling match today, did a press conference,
and was asked about being a backup fighter for UFC 317 or 318,
and he essentially said, yeah, man, I have to kind of save my reputation
because people think I ducked his Lamakachev.
The doctors did not give an accurate reporting of what the injury actually was.
and now I have this thing that, oh, I was scared to fight this person,
even though it was an injury and it was a medical issue and that's the situation.
So he still has not recovered from this.
And now he's probably going to have to fight even though he had a title shot.
Where does Bacierre go from here, AK, because we are going to do on to the next one tomorrow.
But we're not going to talk about either of these fighters because, well, they didn't fight,
AK.
Yeah, again, until we know the exact reason that this fight didn't happen, it's hard to guess.
But she's got to get her health right, you know, whether it's a,
physical health issue, mental health issue, a combination of the two.
It could absolutely be one leading into the other, right?
Could have started off as one and then leads into, you know, mental health issue.
It could have been a mental health issue all along, and that sort of leads into physical health.
I think anyone who's dealt with the sort of thing understands how complicated that is and how much
in the long run, it can just totally screw you up and how one second you can think you're okay
and you're ready to rock.
You know, she's probably in training.
She's doing fantastic.
The next second, you're, you know, minutes away from going out to actually step into that
intimidating UFC Apex Octagon and something just locks up, something freezes.
Again, and it could have been something severe.
So I don't know where Macy Barber goes.
Both fighters still pretty young going into this.
I think that was one of our big talking points going to this matchup is this feels like
such a pivotal fight for both Aaron Blanchfield and Macy Barber.
But it should be the be-all end-all of, oh, what does this mean for their futures?
Who's going to challenge for our title soon?
because Aaron Blancheville is 26, Macy Barber is 27.
Really, neither of them are even quite in their athletic prime yet.
But we also didn't foresee something like this happening.
So at least for Macy Barber, this is a real inflection point for her.
You know, I think her and her team and her family and everyone who cares about her,
they really have to decide, like, is this the right path to go down?
You know, do we get some beautiful story 18 months from now where Macy Barber's continued
to win streak?
She's fighting for a U.S.C. title.
and we look back on this as, well, that was just a huge, huge hurdle she had to overcome.
Or does Macy Barber only fight a few more times?
Does she not fight again?
Is this the last, realistically, is this the last time we've seen Macy Barber fight?
Are her issues so substantial that, you know, it's best for her not to fight again?
That's entirely possible.
So, yes, because of this news, this main event ended up having far, farther reaching implications than we ever could have imagined.
So do not know what is next for her, but obviously number one priority, got to get her health right.
Don't even, I hope no one on her team.
And I don't say hope.
I know no one on her team, no one in her management is even thinking right now of what her next fight will be.
This is a wild chat right now.
It's all over the place.
But hey, you know, people got their opinions.
It truly is all over the place.
People got their opinions.
That's fine.
People are.
Yeah, it's, it's, she's afraid.
It was fear.
We're looking to blame the UFC for this.
I mean, that might be the worst take I've ever seen in the history of MMA fighting.com,
terrific website that we're actually digging deep to blame the UFC for this.
You clearly have not watched our programming.
Some people are mad at my hat.
We're saying I wear the same hat all the time.
I like the hat.
It's comfy and it fits the bald head.
So I don't know what you're talking about.
People talk on the real issues.
Can I just say also about Aaron Blanchfield?
This is what people see in the comments too.
like, oh, she was kind of like harsh and, you know, she's pretty pretty cutting with her comments.
Aaron Blanchfield, again, is very frustrated in the moment.
You know, this is her getting put in front of a live microphone by the great Megan Levy,
who did a great job conducting the interview.
Moments again, after just finding out she's not going to fight.
And she's all pumped up.
She's in, she's in, Aaron Blanchfield, 20 minutes ago, was in kill mode, was it, was in,
I am about to go into a cage, I'm going to mess someone up.
I'm going to make a statement for a title fight.
That's something she's told she's not fighting.
And by the way, now you have to do an interview.
you. We want your, we want your thoughtful opinion on what is going on with Macy Barber.
So Aaron Blancherl just spoke from the heart. So I'm not saying you want to agree with her.
If people think she's out of pocket for, again, what she said was she was told by Hunter Campbell
that there was a seizure. If people think she shouldn't have said that, I understand. If people
think her saying the situation was unprofessional, they think she shouldn't have said that,
I understand. But this is Jen, this is live. She's had no time to gather her thoughts. This is not
Aaron Blanchfield being told. This is not her, again, getting like an interview from one of us in the media and like I was saying, oh, we're going to interview at five o'clock and getting him a chance to gather her thoughts. This was seconds, minutes after this cancellation. So I don't blame Aaron Blanchfield for anything she said. She is, she did have a little more time. I know she's at the media day. I know she's being, I think, no less sort of definitive with some of her statements about how she feels about this. But even then I'll say she has a right to be frustrated.
by the situation.
So if you guys are mad at Aaron Blanchfield for any reason,
I would say, I would also say like, you know,
just take a moment to think about the situation she's in.
Put yourself in her shoes.
It's total chaos for her.
And just a massive, massive, massive disappointment on Aaron Blanchfield's side.
No post-presser from UFC up to this bad look.
I mean, they're doing one right now.
Yeah, there is one.
I mean, Aaron's there.
Aaron Blanchfield, quote,
she needs to look at another division.
She needs to fix her life.
She needs to fix herself.
I think she's a mess in every aspect of her.
of her entire life.
Harsh.
That is what Aaron Blanchfield said at the post-wife press conference.
That's harsh, man.
And look, if you guys think Dana White was going to show up and speak to the media,
I would pretty much bet a floppy jill that's probably not even in the building.
He may not even be in Las Vegas, if we're being honest.
So, yeah, pretty wild stuff right there.
It'll be interesting to see where Aaron Blanchfield goes.
There are, I don't think you can rebook this after this.
I think Aaron has to move on.
You could do, maybe she just graduates the Natty Ice fight.
Maybe Natty Ice is now like the legit number one contender to fight Valentina Jifchenko now.
So maybe that's what happens as long as Zhang Wei doesn't move up.
I think Zhang is going to be sort of the biggest end, the biggest hurdle in all of this.
If Zhang moves up to 125, she's going to get the title shot.
If she doesn't, then Talia Silva probably just got herself one.
maybe do Aaron Blanche who ever selects a Grasso?
They haven't fought.
I mean, I just don't know kind of a weird situation.
But Alexa just got bodied in her last fight in a fight that was not very competitive.
So yeah, you got to feel for Aaron.
She did the thing.
So, yeah.
What else can we say?
But we do it bonuses, AK.
We have bonuses.
I'll find a thought on that.
No, but I was going to say, how do we even talk about the rest of this card, Mike?
I mean, I don't even know.
And again, not even that it was like the worst card ever.
Just like, you know, nothing felt, none of these fights had major stakes, you know, beyond the basic, you know, someone needs to win and make some money and, you know, make a name for themselves.
But I think we were relying a lot.
I think we thought we would have much to say about this made event.
And we do, just not in the way that we'd imagine.
Okay.
Only 10 more presents to wrap.
You're almost at the finish line.
But first.
There.
The last one.
Enjoy a Coca-Cola for a pause that refreshes.
Hi, I'm Sophia Loprakero, host of the Before the Chorus podcast.
We dive into the life experiences behind the music we love.
Artists of all genres are welcome,
and I've been joined by some pretty amazing folks, like glass animals.
I guess that was the idea was to try something personal and see what happened.
And Japanese breakfast.
I thought that the most surprising thing I could offer was an album about joy,
You can listen wherever you get your podcasts.
Oh, and remember, so much happens before the chorus.
I have to apologize to the people's pre-fight show viewers,
because if you're a person who jumped on the people's pre-fight show
and were on the fence about this card,
and you said to yourself, you know what, Mike really sold me on this.
I'm not going out with the boys tonight.
I'm staying home.
I'm going to watch the fights because Mike sits,
It's not that bad.
It's going to be better than it looks.
This is an apex card that actually has ranked fighters on it.
A legit co-main event, not a penultimate fight.
It's way better than UFC Vegas 106 on paper.
I apologize.
I'm sorry.
Tough hangs out there, if we're being honest.
Some big finishes in the main card.
I mean, some violent finishes.
I'll say that.
And we had some decent fights.
A.K., do you want to guess who won bonuses today?
I mean, it's got to be, okay, so we've got...
No, no, no, I've done.
So it's three finishes.
I would hope everyone who got a finish got one.
Is that fair to guess?
No.
Oh, my goodness.
Okay, okay.
Only two.
All right, all right.
Dustin Jacoby, definitely got one.
Jordan Levin has to be the other performance bonus now.
You got one right and one.
Oh, damn.
Okay, yeah, just tell me that.
They didn't like the, they didn't like the worm?
He didn't get extra points for the worm?
The worm got a bow.
bonus. Oh, okay. Dustin Jacoby did not get a bonus. Oh, no. Ramiz Braheibage got the other bonus. And that
honestly, if it was between Brahimaj and Levitt, I'm giving it to, to Braymage. That was the most
violent standing guillotine I've seen in a long time. Poor Billy Ray Gough got sent back to
friggin Connecticut with that one. He was in La La Land. That was nasty. We have a fight of
the night. A.K.
Shout out.
Don't, no way.
Don't tell me.
Shout out.
To the curtain jerkers,
Alice Ardaleon and Hiani do Santos.
50 Gs for the ladies.
Damn.
Well deserved.
I'm so proud of them.
They fought hard.
Listen,
you could say it wasn't the most technical fight,
whatever.
That was,
it was a good,
it was a good scrap, man.
Alice and Hayani scraps.
And,
I mean,
I don't know if that makes a dent for Alice Adelian.
I know she got,
what, four million followers on TikToks.
I'm not sure how the monetization there works.
She looked good tonight.
She really did.
She's got to win.
She's gotten better.
Bro, she was nine and six in her career going to this fight.
Guess what?
Now, now one and two.
That's a night.
She won two in the UFC.
She's got a,
if she never wins again,
she'll be an old lady someday telling her,
telling her family, like, yep,
I got a UFC win.
I won a fight in the Octagon,
official.
So, man, crazy.
50 G is good for her.
And, oh, and Hiani.
So Hiani also, right, fight of the night, you said.
Yeah, fight of the night.
Damn, maybe.
She falls to Hianni Dos Santos.
O and three in the UFC, but maybe a fight of the night saves you, you know?
If it is a standard four-fight contract, maybe this, you know, they don't, they don't cut her, right?
Let her fight the last fight.
Good for, good for you.
Yeah, good for you.
Yeah, good for you.
I am kind of surprised Dustin Jacoby didn't get a bonus.
What?
Why?
Why?
That was so fun.
How do you not get a bonus?
That was a, what the hell was that?
Honestly, this is going to be a super hot take.
And as much as I.
As much as I applaud these two ladies for getting after 15 minutes,
you could have double bonus Dust of Jacoby because that fight with Bruttle Lopez was ugly as shit.
But they beat the shit out of each other, dude.
They beat the hell out of each other for all minute 50 of that.
But Duss had just schoolyarded him.
It was incredible, fantastic stuff.
Pretty brutal knockout.
Brahimaj with a nasty submission.
Tush Gamrod on the board in 2025.
now a main event win, AK.
So if someone had Batush Gamrot in our fantasy draft,
would he get main event points?
No.
Why not?
Why not?
It's a fish in the main event.
Fortunately, this is not a bridge that we have to cross.
I'm pretty sure no one had.
No one.
Amt.
Okay.
That can't count.
This. Why?
Listen, this was barely a co-main.
All right.
This was, it had a ranked, a top 10 rank lightweight.
So we said, yes, it's a co-main, not a penultimate fight.
But it surely cannot.
like Charlie cannot just immediately become main event points.
Well, you know what?
But thank goodness has happened.
Now that's something we know to think about for the second half of the MA fighting fantasy season.
But, yeah, main event win, Matur's camera.
And he only had to fight three rounds, pretty much imposed his will on the Dovet Klein.
This is a good night for a gamron.
This is a good night as he could get considering, you know, this was like a stay busy fight.
He didn't have a lot to game with this fight, even considering that Klein was like pretty nice run.
He is now the first win in Ludovic Klein's past eight opponents.
That's nice.
Good win for Gamarot.
Fair professional, fought his fight.
3.27.
Looks like he escaped without much injury.
You know, maybe he took a couple of hard punches in there,
but otherwise he's probably ready to turn around or step in for any of those lightweight
fights coming up.
He's like, give me a call.
You'll see Gammon fight again within the next like three months.
I'm almost sure.
Yeah.
And I think that's what he has to do.
He just has to fight all the time.
get in there as often as possible.
Shout out to Rames Barahe-Maj.
The only bet I made on the entire card
because he was a plus 300,
and I'm like, what in the friggin world
makes Rames-Brah,
Rames-Brahimaj a plus 300 underdog
to Billy Ray Goff.
I like Billy.
I've followed his career forever,
since he was an amateur.
I've followed his career.
But come on, man.
Come on.
That was insane.
My only, so I,
if you'll remember, my prediction was pretty spot on,
my predictions are rarely spot on,
but if you guys see at M.AFle.com,
how I wrote up this fight,
I pretty much knew exactly it was going to go.
I think people got confused by the Brahimage golf fight
because they know that's like a brawl,
and then I think they thought he was going to do that
with Billy Ray Koff.
But like that was the first knockout of like Ramiz's career.
Like that was bizarre.
That knockout of Biggie Gull was extremely bizarre.
He mixes the martial arts
and usually mixes them in the direction of the grappling.
That's kind of his whole thing.
So I was like, I don't think he's just going to throw
down with Goff and let Goff knock him out because that's that's you know that's high likelihood of
that happening and this has been a stand-up battle. So yeah, he went for the takedown, he used his grappling
and then went for that and they took a neck and almost took that neck home with him. So,
well, well bet, well bet my best friend. Well done. Yeah, it was a it was a don't brainer. I was
going to bet on Matush Gamera too because I thought that line was pretty wild. But yeah,
Gamrod did the thing. I think we ran through pretty much everything. I mentioned us to Jacobi,
Ketland Vieira beats Macy Chess on and a featherweight bout.
So there you have it.
That's got to be just funny for Macy, man.
Because this should have been a step-up moment for Macy.
Like, she's, I still feel like she has so much intrigue as a challenger
because she is someone who actually finishes fights,
which isn't common in like the 135 division.
And then, you know, she had to take this fight because Ketlin wasn't even close to making
weight, so it got bumped up to featherweight.
So she got a little bit of Ketland's purse, which is nice.
25%.
25% nice nice chunk of change you know keltlin's been around in the uc for a while so that's that's probably not bad money at all but oh boy she needed to get this win and um she just didn't look uh talk about macy just did not look like a top five fighter which is you know which kind of what we all hoped for her i think when she she came off the old bit fighter and maybe we know her ceiling now i don't know i don't know we we know her she's she's never fighting for a title even in this division it's just it's just if you can't be ketland vr you're not fighting for a belt
Like at this point in her career, she's not 25.
You know, she's been up and down the road.
And every time watching Macy Chiason fight, I'm reminded of the great Dean Thomas coming on BTL and saying so confidently that he would pick Macy Chias on in a fight against Kayla Harrison.
And a five-rounder.
And I was like, I'm okay.
All right.
I mean, still the hottest take of the history of the show.
That in Damon Martin's, Bo Nickel would beat Israel out of Sanya right now.
take after Bo's first UFC fight were two of the hottest stakes in the history of BTL.
Zach Rees, we knew when Zachary's and Disko Tadorovich went to the scorecards.
We're in for some problems.
Zachary's gets the win.
Alana Cemento gets the win.
I mentioned Jordan Levitt.
Belagioki, good fight.
Actually, I enjoyed that one, Michael Aswell.
Michael Aswell is going to be one of those dudes.
It's just going to be super fun to watch.
She's not going to win a lot of fights in the UFC, but Michael Aswell is going to be fun.
All right. Let's go to the peeps. You guys have a lot to talk about. So let's get into this. Terrence, thank you. Super chat as you get to the front of line. Your rights, mental health thing manifested to a physical thing. Ben there. If it is a mental thing, she will never say it because of the stigmatism. Casey O'Neill, Joe Tariana, UFC should jump in. UFC should jump in. U.S. she tweeted.
Tatiana is in the building as well.
So Casey O'Neill was, like, joking that her and Tatiana could, like, just do the main event.
Like, just jump in and do the main event.
Oh.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Unrelated.
That's kind of, two thoughts, kind of unrelated thoughts.
Yeah, that was, that's going on.
Jayfish, what the heck is going on?
No, Jay.
Also, Mike, let's go Pacers, AK, shoutouts to Pascal, Cic M and Canada basketball.
By the way, yeah, yeah.
I see a lot of comments.
So I'm, again, I'm going to put myself on the same screen right now because a lot of people are waiting
from my reaction to what transpired in the Eastern Conference Finals, Game 6, between the Indiana
Pacers and the New York Knickerbockers. And, you know, I've talked a lot of shit about the Knicks,
mostly the fan base. And I think people misconstrue where I'm coming from. One, I think the
celebration, cool. Like, you want to celebrate winning a Eastern Conference semifinal series. Cool.
Like, you beat the Celtics, like, you should celebrate it. My issue with Nick, with Nick,
and it's the majority of them, because I've seen it everywhere,
is you celebrated the injury to Jason Tatum.
You celebrated it, you cheered it.
You were like, fuck yeah.
You fuck him, he's done.
And you celebrated this.
So that is my issue with dictation.
But I also understand being a Boston sports fan.
We haven't seen a lot of heartbreak lately,
but there was a time where it was just nothing but heartbreak.
And we would lose in the worst ways possible.
So as someone who has experienced heartbreak, as a fan trying to reach out to Nick Nation, let me just say this with the most sincerity that I can.
Michael.
I'm so excited.
Go Pacers.
Eat it.
You got smoke tonight.
Smoked.
And I feel no sympathy for any of you.
So, sorry.
Except my main action Bronson.
Action Bronson.
The one guy.
Action Bronson, a true, true man, true Knicks fan, didn't celebrate.
There you go.
I mean, I love the Pacer, so I'm definitely going to celebrate the victory.
I'm just so, Rick Carlisle is an incredible coach.
Their team is just talented from top to bottom.
Obviously, former Raptor, Pascal Seacum, watching him excel and get so much love again is
like, duh, like the guy has always been.
good. I don't know why people forgot he was good. But whatever it takes. Okay, see, I'm a fan
up too. I get it. I don't even want to talk about ratings, Mike, you know, the whole thing.
And the stupid thing is I bet even ESPN themselves because their coverage is so negative.
It's going to talk about, oh, who's going to watch this? It's like, who cares? This is two really good
basketball teams. Like, I don't even care about this stuff.
It's not a thing. Mike's enjoying. Mike, stop roasting the fans. Stop roasting the fans.
Oh, I don't care. I hate all of you. You've already won by seeing the Knicks as a
community. No, no, I don't mean that. But they are in our division, Mike. We are division rivals,
but we also hate the Knicks. And so I'm just saying, that's kind of rooting for the Pacers.
But I like don't be a dick. Okay, see you too. Don't be a shit. Don't be a shitty fan. Yes,
and we'll be all my Canadians. Shout out to all my Canadians. I get in heard.
Yo, shout out to all my Canadians in May finals. Ryan Nemhard, Benedict Mathurine,
Shade Gilles, of course, and Lou Dort. Canadians, we bringing up. You, last year,
you had a beautiful Canadian in your team. O'Shea, you know, Boston Celtics,
getting to, getting the ring for my boy, O'Shea. So there we go.
Canadians. We've written NBA championships now. This is crazy.
It used to just be Rick Fox. It was like,
oh, Rick Fox and Bill Wennington. Like, that's it. That's all we
had. And now we're like, we're winning championships every year.
It's great. If only our
Olympic team could win a friggin medal.
That's fabulous.
There is no one that is
actually living on planet Earth right now
who have seen the New York Knicks win a championship.
And I find great
you learn this. The Pacers have now been to the finals
twice since the Knicks' last
finals appearance. I'm just, I don't, I'm not trying to
hurt anyone's feelings. I'm just
state.
I'm okay.
Please.
Terrence,
Mike Terrence was also asking us about Noce U.S.C.
Of course, yes.
They announced it is not taking place in Guadalajara, as UFC had said before.
It is also not UFC 320, which I don't, I don't remember if that was official,
but I feel like they had talked about it as if it was going to be a pay-per-view.
No, it was.
They called it.
Okay, they did, right?
Okay.
Yeah, absolutely.
And so now it is just Noce UFC 3.
It is a fight night.
It is now in San Antonio, Texas.
I see people some saying like, oh, was it a site fee issue?
No, if you follow my main man, Rodrigo del Campo on Twitter, he's been, he's in Mexico.
He has been reporting for quite a few weeks now that there's been issues with the construction
of the arena that was supposed to house Noto UFC 3.
So they kind of were already wondering, like, how the hell is going to happen?
This does not look like that he's going to be repaired.
Tonight we got our confirmation that, yes, the arena will not be ready.
So yes, they're moving to San Antonio for a fight night.
And I don't even want to speculate on when the main event's going to be.
I know people are already mad.
is it going to be a Volcanowski?
Oh, God.
Mike, go ahead.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Thank God.
Thank God.
You've got the scoops.
You tell the people.
You got the scoops.
Look, I've been saying for like a couple weeks, like all the rumors that Volk is fighting
Yair and OJ UFC, like none of it was true.
Wasn't even being discussed.
I mean, I'm not saying, I'm not going to say it wasn't being discussed.
But to say it was like in the works, it was like a serious thing was not true.
So that's, that's, I mean, none of this is really a surprise.
I had also been her, I also heard and I've been saying it on shows as well that there have
been talks about moving the event for a little bit of time now.
So that's because of everything that was going on.
They're hoping to get back to that arena in Guadalajara for Noce in 2026.
That's what the hope is right now.
I assume they can get all the work done in a year.
Hopefully it does.
And, but yeah, San Antonio is getting a cool.
cool themed card.
I did not know San Antonio was even in the mix.
I was a little surprised by that.
I thought Vegas was sort of always the front runner with it.
But San Antonio getting one and you got to do Diego Lopez versus the Iyer Rodriguez in the main event.
It's right there.
It's right there.
By the way, during the people's pre-fight show, there are some people who were like, oh, yeah, no, Diego Lopez is fighting John Silva, UFC 318.
social media is reporting it.
I even sent some texts while we were doing the show.
I was going to try to get you an answer while the show was going on.
Unfortunately, I got my answer about 15 minutes after the show.
No truth of those rumors as of this moment.
People stop bothering Mike with your fake news.
You see that you waste his time.
And you make him look like an ass to his friends,
to his friends that he has to, his sources that he has to reach out to.
Sorry, Mike.
It's just angers, man.
You're too kind.
You're too kind with your powers, you know?
I'm sorry that, like, I do the job correctly.
You know?
Let's just do Yaira versus Diego Lopez.
This is the fight.
And that's all there is to it.
Ah, I just had to put somebody in the penalty box.
Oh, I already did.
I saw him, too.
Oh, you penalty boxed him too?
I don't know what I did.
You get a double major.
You're out of here.
Double banning.
Double banning.
The double ban, he's getting at least 15 minutes.
So what else what else?
What else?
What else we got?
All right.
What else we got?
Let's see.
Shit, a lot of comments.
RS 40.
I think RS40 has another super chair.
Did we talk about this?
Oh, there it is.
Yeah.
Is it Aaron versus Grasso, Macy versus Jezibesias?
Mike, I'll say this.
I think we have to sort of matchmake for Aaron on onto the next one.
No?
Do you want to do that?
Well, you can just do it now.
I don't know.
I need to compile my notes.
I can't.
I can't just matchmake on the fly like you, my friend.
I'm, I'm a, I'm a machine.
I have algorithms.
I have calculations I need to make.
I guess we did kind of talk about this.
Okay, first of all, not Macy.
It's not Macy.
I think the ship has sailed.
We move on.
Jasmine.
I like that fight.
Jasmine.
I mean, I was giving Jasmine the loser of this fight anyway.
So that's not bad.
RS 40 with the jazz was good.
That's not bad.
I will say this though.
I don't think,
I mean,
we can't really matchmake for Macy.
I don't know if she should fight a flyweight
for her next fight either.
I mean,
if I, look,
if you're Macy Barber,
go to Bannamweight.
You are literally a win away
from fighting for a championship at Bannam White.
Especially if a man to new net,
like if Julianna Pena beats Kayla Harrison,
I don't think,
thing newness comes back, Macy Barber could probably just go up and get a title fight without
ever having to fight at Bantam White. There's history between those two women. There's nobody else.
Truly, nobody else right now. Well, Norma Dumont, but like, would the UFC rather do
Norma Dumont or would they rather do Macy Barber? You know, it's a silly argument. It shouldn't be
that way, but she would, she could absolutely walk into a title fire right now because the UFC
sees a lot in her. But if she stays the 25, I think Jasmine makes a lot of
sense.
Blanchefield versus Grasso is fine.
But like a win,
a win doesn't get her a title fight.
That's the problem.
Because Grasso's now lost two in a row.
It doesn't mean as much as it would have.
Like when Natty Ice beat her,
like Natty Ice shut her out.
And yeah,
what I think the best case in error for Aaron Blanchfield is that
Zhang Wei moves up.
She gets the fight with Valentina.
And then Aaron fights the Talia Sillian.
in a legit true fire number one contender fight.
Yeah.
Otherwise, she's going to be waiting for a long time to fight for a belt.
Yeah, I want Natty Ice to just obviously get a title fight.
Like, I feel like she's done enough, but I feel like she's going to have to wait a long time.
And if you're an Addy Ice in your team, you probably wanted a fight again.
So I do think the fight with Aaron's going to happen.
You know, there's that sort of thought in my mind of, can't we keep both these contenders alive?
But that's a very tricky game to play in the UFC.
And it's a pretty thin division.
That's the other problem.
Let's, you know, flyweight's a good division, but it is thin.
I think they have maybe, maybe 30 contracted fly weights, maybe.
And then again, they're not all contenders.
So that means the contender line is considerably shorter.
So it is hard to keep contenders apart.
So I would prefer to keep Aaron Blanchfield and Natty Ice apart.
I saw that, Mike, but I prefer to keep them apart.
Terrible thing.
Well, listen, you get your, he's allowed to comment.
You're allowed to retort.
It's just so bad.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
We,
he,
you have,
it's a super chat,
Mike,
you have to read his comment.
You're the Boston guy.
So,
of course,
and share a fan base
with Portnoy,
most act like him.
I am not a Knicks fan,
but you act like Boston fans are,
aren't saints.
Aren't,
you know what he meant.
So that means we are saints.
So thank you,
Terrence.
I didn't see one injury troll.
Then you did not look far at all.
You literally made zero effort.
You did not even go on social media
the night it happened.
Because saying you didn't see one injury troll
is a,
is either,
a complete liar and you're just lying to make a point and I appreciate you spending $10 to lie to
the world or you just didn't try and you didn't go on social media because if you saw nothing,
then I don't know what to tell you because everybody else saw shit and I saw a lot of it.
So that's your opinion. Look, trust me when I tell you, there are some shitty fans in Boston,
a lot of them. 100%. And I will also say this. There are fans in Boston who probably chaired,
who probably would have cheered if Jalen Brunson got hurt.
But those people would be assholes too.
And I would come on and say that.
I wouldn't be one of those people.
And that's it.
That's why I feel bad for the action Bronsonson's of the world
who did not celebrate an injury
and really wanted this and didn't get it.
And I hope someday for the actions of the world, they get it.
That he gets a championship one day.
But for the rest of him, fuck them.
That's it.
So there you.
have it. Thank you for your 10 bucks. There you go. Thank you, Terrence. Hey, Terrence, respect
your opinion. Thank you very much for chiming in, sir.

If we got any...
Let me be the diplomatic one here.
Mike, let me be the diplomatic one now.
Look, can we end up fight?
We got any fight questions in here?
This was really, I'm really still kind of, you know, in disbelief.
I'm shocked still from the me.
Yeah.
And again, let me just say, by the way, thank you, everyone who's tuning in.
I feel like we're getting, strangely, we're getting, I feel like more traffic than we would
have if the fight had actually happened.
So thank you.
Guys, thank you for coming to us for answers.
Again, we don't have any concrete answers.
We will say, you know, time is past.
They did have a post-flight press conference.
They spoke to Aaron, and they spoke to.
to, you know, obviously, Mnuch Gamron.
I think that was it.
They had two people.
Of course, no, Dana White.
Not even at Dave Shaw in the building.
So answers will be forthcoming guys.
And I would say probably slow to come.
Because let us not forget, again, this is not the first time we've had news of a Macy Barber medical issue.
And that happened like over a year ago.
And we still never got concrete answer to that.
And that's something we have to accept because that's people's private business.
So I'll just keep saying, I know my broken record.
Hopefully Macy's all right.
Yeah.
I mean, that's really it.
What else we got?
Oh, we can end on this.
There we go, Mike.
Got us.
Do you guys think Dana sees all the Jones versus Aspital comments on every post he makes?
Is that why he's been so quiet?
Nope.
I think Dan White has said himself, he does not handle his social media guys.
You guys know that, right?
He has a person who like, I think he has a separate, maybe not a separate phone,
but definitely has someone with a device that's like logged into his social media for him all the time.
post the videos of him and all that stuff.
So, no, Dana White could not care less.
I'm not saying he's ignorant to the conversation existing,
but he's definitely not as tuned in.
Like, if you guys, listen, you fall atmaflane.com,
you see a update slash non-update on the John Jones Aspinall drama every day.
I guarantee you Dana White is not reading all those stories.
He's not aware of every little thing John Jones is doing in Thailand.
He's not aware of every, like, gag that Tom Aspinall does, every duck joke.
No, he's not locked into social media like we are guys.
And that's probably a good thing for him and for everyone else involves.
Yeah.
Another one.
Thank you.
Oh, this is a positive one thing to end on.
Yeah.
And Dana does not care.
Dana doesn't care about any of this.
He's too busy with other stuff.
He's not even, he probably barely has reacted to what happened tonight.
So there you go.
Rick, Nick's loss, so life is good.
Happy BD-A-K, please have a Vietnamese coffee on me, Mike.
Thank you, Rick.
20 Canadian, by the way.
That's 20-C-N-D, I believe, right, Rick?
I think that's 20-N-D, I assume, 20-Can-A-W.
What does that work?
Yes.
That's like 75 cents American.
But that's 75 cents that we value, Rick.
Thank you.
And yes, congratulations to the Pacers and, you know, down with the Knicks.
any actual journalism with verifiable info and what happened no because nobody has that so there you go
like why are you not trying you're not in trying you're not reaching out to people why i'm not
i should have gone to the fucking effect today why were you not in macy barber's locker room
two minutes after this news broke mike shame on you the john jones stuff is just so ridiculous like
It really is.
What, like, what are we doing here?
Seriously.
I don't know.
Fucking get, just get rid of this guy.
Just strip the belt.
Oh, my God.
Mike is fired up tonight.
No, it's just so, it's so, like, it's so silly.
Just strip him.
He's even said, please, take the belt away from me.
I'll fight Alex Pereira.
I don't need the belt.
When people ask, how are you going to feel when he gets stripped of the belt?
Oh, you think I care about things like that?
Take the belt off of him.
Take the belt off of him.
Uh, Segar.
Armin, Justin Hooker, Gamrat, Patty, who fights who next?
Take Gamarat out of all of these discussions.
It stinks to say, because this is not a real sport.
So Matush Gamrots is going to have to fight a hundred times before he even sniffs the title fight.
And it's just not fair.
I think he's got his answers in there, though.
Like Patty's been saying nonstop, he's probably going to fight G8th.
And I think...
If I think...
If I...
think they probably the patty right away i would love that i just trying to think yeah i guess they could
yeah i wonder if max beats dustin oh no wait no then you can't run that one back i was
going to say oh no we saw that already um i think you do because i think armin and hooker makes a lot of
sense i think like arm and surgaun and hooker makes a lot of sense run it does rebooked that's true
that's what we said when that that fell through last time armin and gauchy makes a lot of sense like
all these fights make sense.
I think it's,
I think it all depends on what happens at 317.
If Ilya wins the belt,
I think Patty is absolutely in play to get a title fight.
I'd be stunned if he didn't, honestly.
Wow.
And then Justin Gachi fights Armand Surukian and Dan Hooker fights Raphael Fiziv.
If Fiziv beats Ignacio Baja Mondays later this month.
Like, is anyone going to complain about that fight?
I certainly wouldn't.
I think the way the timing is going to work.
I just don't know if Patty's going to get Ilya right away.
I do think he's going to fight Justin,
and then the winner of that fight will fight I'll fight I'll fight
at the end of the year, I guess.
This is assuming I'll even wins.
Again, I've got a strong,
I'm getting some strong Charles vibes.
I don't know, I've got some really, really strong Charles vibes.
20 Canadian from Vancouver should be worth the 20 Canadian from Charlie.
Ouch, oh, out.
Good burn.
Good burn.
Respect, respect.
Respect, Vic.
Oh, terrific.
Good, good, bye.
I love Beck.
I was born in Vancouver.
I got nothing about love for Vancouver.
You're not going to hear me.
You're not going to beef with Vancouver.
Lightway, it's just so weird.
Someone asked about Grant Dawson.
I have no idea who Grant Dawson's going to fight it.
No clue.
If Ludwig Klein had won,
that's who Grant Dawson would have been fighting.
Can he get Gammon?
Who?
Dawson.
They train together?
He gets them every day.
They're buddies.
Oh, I think I said this on another show.
I think if there's like a second time you know it's telling me this.
Yeah, they're buddies.
All right.
Yeah, Dossack.
Gamrater buds.
They're very tight.
I'm tucking on my,
I'm tucking on my rope.
I think clearly my,
my brain is fried.
This wasn't,
this wasn't on,
on to the next one.
So thank goodness.
Everyone asking about minty bets.
Yeah,
poor,
I don't know,
man.
I fell for,
man.
Listen,
live TV.
Live TV shit happens.
Maybe it's a teleprompter thing.
I know people are going to,
like,
oh,
she's really over teleprompter.
The whole,
guys,
pretty much everybody reads off a teleprompter.
Like it's a hard thing to do when you're doing live TV.
There are people who are amazing at live hits, obviously with no prompter.
Of course, how about Megan Olivie?
Anytime she does those walk-and-talks, I'm just like,
she's unbelievable.
But yes, when you're in a studio, yeah, guys, typically when you see someone in a studio doing a segment like that,
they have a teleprompter.
So it doesn't mean she doesn't know her stuff.
Maybe she doesn't.
Maybe she doesn't.
I don't know.
It doesn't mean she doesn't know her stuff.
It means she probably had it written out in a very specific way.
She's reading off the screen.
If that screen malfunctioned, she throws you off your whole shit.
So that's my guess as to what happened.
But yeah, that's tough.
That's live TV.
If it's a lot, yeah.
I mean, I feel, I feel bad for either way.
Mm-hmm.
If it's, if it was a live shot, then that's one thing.
But if it was pre-recorded and then they aired it without editing that part out.
No.
No.
Now, that's crazy.
It was quite a night.
They had the trouble with the showing the Kayla Harrison interview.
They were trying to do a clip with her.
That didn't play correctly.
I don't know.
It was quite a night.
Yeah.
Everyone, it's not easy.
Like, no one's perfect in those roles.
Like, absolutely nobody.
So it is.
Everyone who thinks it's so easy to talk live on TV.
Thank you, Rick.
It is not.
Rick is so generous.
Rick Nguyen, thank you for the,
all the Viet coffees for Mike.
None for me.
None for me, apparently.
I didn't see one for me.
It was all for Mike.
Have you had a Vietnamese coffee before?
I'm pretty sure I have.
Dude.
It is something, something else.
I mean, that saved me in swing rounds.
Like, you would not believe, man.
Like, just, just saved the day for like two days of no sleep.
Yeah.
That thing was like, Popeye eaten his spinach.
I was like, oh, let's go.
Yeah, you couldn't have beaten Derek Lewis without it.
No.
Thank you, Michael.
Still enjoyed tonight's fight.
It's time for paper.
Yes, it is officially UFC 316 fight week.
I got to tell you, okay.
I know we're doing a little bit of a primer for UFC 316.
Usually it's like, how excited you for this?
How excited you for that?
The main event has grown on me immensely.
If you asked me give an excitement grade from 1 to 10,
the night Dana White announced Marab was fighting Sean O'Malley in the rematch,
I would have put it at a 2.5.
I was so bored by the even mere thought of that fight.
But I have been building much more towards.
And everything Sean O'Malley has done has helped tremendously.
Marab and the Bannamway Go conversation has helped tremendously.
And I'm at 8.4 right now for that fight, AK.
That's really high.
Yeah, I am.
And you know why, though?
but it's it's not even because of like the actual fight itself it's the fallout of it that
i'm looking forward to because if sean o'malley loses to marab like what what happens i don't
know where does he go is he done at bannamweight like like chale asked chill had a really interesting
comment he's like if sean loses he's going to featherweight like he becomes the rich franklin
of the division because he's never going to beat marab he's never going to get shot so like does
Sean Amel become Rich Franklin or is he Max Holloway who will just sit there and just keep
rifling off these guys stopping them from fighting for the belts and then to a point where
he just puts on a masterclass against somebody and it's like shit kind of have to give him another
title fight what does he become what happens in barob loses does he get a rematch or does the
UFC just move on I just have so many questions yeah that I'm fascinated by all of this and in the
co-mate event I am very excited about Juliana
and Kayla Harrison. Very excited.
Yeah, we got a,
oh, Terrence,
Terence championing in again, Mike.
Just wants to know, since you mentioned Kayla,
I assume is asking,
will Kayla win and beat Amanda to become the best?
Terrence, just,
could we just take a second to formulate these questions a little more?
Kayla wins will and beat Amanda best combat women.
I assume this is will she be Amanda and be the best greatest of all time
if she beats wins the ballot and beats Amanda.
No, no.
no guys no no body of work that athlete is she the greatest women's combat sports athlete
no she's not i don't care no you you just immediately shut that down though i'm shutting
all of her accomplishments body of work in the olympics that's fine fowl she's a great judic she's a great
she lost a lurauraura she lost a liceco in her last fight in the pfell so let's not like it's not
that's not true she lost it wasn't her last fight but she did lose to pceco like in her last whatever tournament
you know, she lost a tournament fight to Pacheco.
It's not like she's like this undefeated bulldozer that has like, you know, truck.
And again, and Amanda.
Who is a K?
Yeah, Eric.
And Amanda wasn't that either, admittedly, before she became, you know, went on her crazy
ass career ending run, right?
She was, she lost like, I think four fights before she went like bananas before five.
Juliana Pena, like three fights ago.
Oh, yeah, that whole thing.
Yeah.
But I mean, I think, again, we, you know, that was answered pre-definitively in their rematch, right?
That's like, a body of work matters, right?
A body of work matters.
So, no, I don't think.
just winning a one-on-one thing again otherwise this brings up the whole oh is connor mcgregor
greater than josie aldo because he won that one fight like no guys he's like you have to have a body
of work and yes if you want to add in the judo obviously spectacular first woman american woman to do it
first american woman's first american person named just woman first american to win uh judo gold
and then do it twice unbelievable stuff um and then to do have very very good and may
possibly culminating in the ufc title fantastic i still wouldn't put her above amanda she's got to
defend the title at least like two or three times please like i don't i don't even care if it's against
I don't care if it's against Ketland Veda or freaking
Macy Barber.
I don't care, but just put some bodies in there.
She will fight Amanda Nunes next if she wins.
There's no doubt about it.
Sure.
I don't think Amanda comes back for Giuliana Pena, though.
I don't.
Yeah.
Thank you again, Rick.
That's for you, A.K.
Thank you, Rick.
Only the 10.
Shout out to Vancouver.
Again, I'm not part of this beef, Rick.
I love Vancouver.
I was, again, I was born there.
I have no problem.
Ah, dude.
Yeah, like I said, I love the commandment.
I think Julianna Payne is a real chance to win.
I already have a bet on Julianna Pena.
Not because like, not because like I would straight pick her to win.
I just think she is going to be a much tougher test for Kayla than people think.
And I think the Ketland-Viera fight was like a perfect example where Kayla is good,
but she ain't going to be able to steamroll everybody.
And if she cannot run down Julianna Pena in the first two rounds,
it's going to be a really interesting fight down the stretch.
So I'm really looking forward to that one.
Patchy Mix,
the amount of pressure that is on him in his first UFC fight.
I mean,
the stakes are outside of the title fights.
It's the title,
it's the four fighters in the main event and coal main event.
And then it's patchy mix in terms of like who has the most on the line.
And then it's everybody else way below.
patchy is in a must win not only a must win but he is in a must impress situation
against mario batista and boy if he can do it he's in a great position if i'm cori sanhagan
i'm a little worried i'm a little worried if i'm good old cori sanhagan right now because apache
makes steamrolls mario batista he might just get skipped over here but if he loses to maria batista
could be interesting
and I love
I absolutely love
this comment right here
could be a huge
for Patis
if he goes full heel
he absolutely should go
full heel I would love that
just hold
patchy against the fence
just hold him against the fence
just grab them
hold him against the fence
Mario just holding it
I will cry
not and then just keep doing
what he's doing
like don't change it all
and that's
why are you encouraging this
because I actually
I don't
because I was talking
to John Anick about this the other day and you'll hear that interview and he was just like yeah but
like isn't if mara batista wins it isn't about patchy not being like a title guy but like wouldn't that
make mara batista like kind of good at fighting and i'm like well yeah but no one will care but if mara
gets on the mic he's like hey man it just keeps treating it like the josiala thing hey it's not my fault
he can't get off the fence
learn how to get off the fence
young man something like that
and just be
be an asshole
oh I love it
I can't say who you are
I'm rooting for Torres Finney to become like middleweight champion
so I can't say anything to anybody
so
whatever I can't you wait
you wait for a tour as Vinnie's next fight
go for a mate
uh thank you Rick
Jesus
again again this is $20 Canadian
which is the so he's given really
equivalent of like $4 US
No, I'm joking.
But quite a sum of money.
Thank you.
Painting got submitted by GDR, Kayla by sub.
Yeah, that's a fair prediction.
I think Kayla by subs when you're pretty popular.
If I haven't seen the odds yet, I imagine that's got to be like minus something, right?
Minus 200.
Oh, I don't know.
No.
Decision, decision I would imagine the most popular.
Look, look, guys, AK brought it up.
The one time that Kayla Harrison had to get down and dirty and get grimy to get a win,
she couldn't do it or she didn't do it let's say she couldn't do it but she didn't do it that night
that was the lorice pecco fight chaco made it a dog fight down and dirty extended her made her work
hard would not get would would not be subdued juliana painia is that fighter like you might not
like her but she's a pain in the ass amanda nunez even in that rematch like amanda
that beat six shades of shit out of,
off of Giuliana Pena.
But Pena just kept coming and kept trying to fight
and kept trying to get a sneaky submission.
So, yes, that's it.
Just got to keep them from beating me.
That's it.
Exactly.
Be you, Mario Pita.
I believe in you.
Not, but big opportunity for Patsy makes.
And that's a big reason why Patsch you could come out of this card
looking like a freaking superstar
because of how the fan base sort of views Mario Boutista right now.
fair unfair
they can they can do something with this
botista thing
they definitely can
and then you know
rest of the card just you know
Holland luke's fun
Joe Pfefer versus Calvin Gasolum
there's a real
that's an interesting fight
Calvin could definitely beat Joe Pfeer
and that'd be kind of hilarious if he did
but Joe's pretty good too
Josh Van Bruno Silva is going to be great.
I do like that fight.
And then the rest of the pre-them is just kind of like,
yeah,
although Chaos Williams,
Andreas Gustafson is going to be really fun.
Joseph keeps asked this question,
so we'll do that and then we're going to get that out of here.
What do Mike and AK think of how ESPN handled
what happened tonight in the production side of things?
Let me first say,
I didn't see the post-fight stuff.
I only saw how it was handled live.
Like I saw the Dale Cormierreux,
and I thought they did great.
I thought they did great.
Laura Sanko, like, I pretty much echoed a lot of what she said, you know, just as far.
And she knows, keep in mind, she knows Macy better than we do, and she knows the situation better than we do.
So, you know, she tried to be as tactful as possible as, like, explaining the potential medical issues that Macy may have been facing and why, like, she felt so bad for her.
Brandon was just giving straight facts.
And, you know, Corme kind of had a take on it.
But otherwise, I thought they handled it great.
I don't know if the post-flight was a little bit messier.
So I didn't watch that, Mike.
I don't know.
Did you see they went to the desk, the other desk at the end?
And they got any come?
Yeah, I mean, yeah.
I mean, they did fine.
They did fine.
I mean, it was Kiesa and Dean Thomas was up there.
And Karen was up, Karen Brian was up there.
And then Valencia Schofshanko came up to talk about a fight that didn't happen.
So, you know, Karen did the best she could.
She just kind of threw it to everybody else, the experts, which I thought was the right call.
a lot of
he has to sort of talk about it
and I thought Kiesa made like an interesting point
like look
wow I don't even know where that came from
hello thumbs up floating behind my shoulder
it was just
we're stubborn
and sometimes we're our own worst enemies
and sometimes we need somebody to tell us like
dude you can't fight
because you always want to fight
we need somebody to get us off the ledge and say you can't
and that's sort of how he looked at it
so but again like they
they didn't they don't no one knows it happened no one knows it happened so yeah uh mike we got one more
super chat i think before we go i'm a little confused we do we too from our pal for on to the next one pal
left lane there we go what's the last one i believe that's a ufc shanghai which is a little confusing
to me because i don't think we have much of a card there if any um i'm only seeing like a report
that Zhang Mingyang might fight Johnny Walker.
We have not confirmed that.
I don't think.
We haven't,
we have not fully confirmed that.
Yeah.
So left lane,
if you know more about that Shanghai card than us,
then I don't know.
I'm going to put it last.
I'm going to put it last for now,
to be honest.
I don't.
It's probably going to be at the bottom.
So here's what I'll say.
Here's what I'll say.
Johnny Walker and
Mingyang,
Zhang, I will say, if that fight is not the main event, I will be surprised.
So I'll leave it at that.
Have I fully confirmed that fight?
No, but from what I've heard and what I'm comfortable saying, if that is not the actual
main event, that will be kind of shocking to me.
There are other things that I can't really say, but I'll say this.
there were other one fight in particular that was like a really interesting fight for that card
that got people excited and as of right this second there's nothing to really be that excited about
so we'll leave that at that uh but yeah yang walker's pretty good but i would put that probably
at the bottom of this list right now because we just don't know what's happening and
Min Yang Zhang versus Johnny Walker, although interesting, doesn't really scratch me where I itch.
Atlanta is probably number one AK.
I think it's kind of, honestly, I think it's probably in order as is right now.
Atlanta with Usman and Buckley, Baku with, of course, Jamal Hill and Kalilio Roundtree just screams Baku,
but that's where we're at right now.
But we also get Fizzi versus Baja Mondays and that fight frigging rules.
and some other good scraps on there.
Tofique Messiah versus Mick Debeck Oralby's on that card.
Like whatever crazy mad scientist got in a room.
He's like, you know, it would be fun if Oralby fought Musayev.
Let's get Musayef from Pf L'Fellator.
And then they got it done.
That fight might be my favorite fight on the books for 2025 so far.
The chat saying, you know, this could be song versus fonts,
Dober versus Rongju, Johnson, Lonnie Kavanaugh.
So again, again, these guys are reported fights.
So one of those fights, one of those fights, don't get excited about.
Oh, guys, come to a lot.
I'll just say that.
Come to us for the facts.
It's on Nemeafaying.com.
It's not even fighting.
Johnson Lonnie Cab, Johnson Lonnie Cab, I will, uh, Johnson, Lonnie Cab is happening.
Yeah.
Okay.
That's happening.
So that, that I feel good about.
Yeah.
Atlanta looks great.
That's three, three UFC champions in the top three fights of the car.
All, I think, a pretty pivotal fights.
is Kumar Usman, if he loses to Buckley, I mean, I'm not saying he's going to retire,
but boy, I don't know how far away that puts him from a title shot.
I mean, I know there's still the Balal fight that could happen,
and that's a have a lot of juice behind it.
It might help both guys.
But that's huge.
If he loses to Buckley, that's a real measure of where he is.
Probably none, man.
Same with Rose.
I'll say this.
If Rose loses to Miranda Maverick, definitely never fighting for a UFC title again.
Unless she decides to make that drop down to strawweight again,
but it's getting, why would she want to at this point?
It's hard to, you get older, it's harder to do.
she's kind of achieved everything she wants to in that way class right and if cody garbrandt loses to
how many barcellos that could really like not just that could really just be the end i'm not talking
what title hopes i'm saying might be time for cody to kind of consider walking away so yeah that's a very
cool like very cool card i think dude Nashville's Nashville slaps man your golf buddy your golf buddy uh
headlining oh yeah but dude listen to this yeah listen to listen to this beautiful i'm i'm listening
Atiba Gautier versus Robert Valentin.
Oh, I mean, what I'm, when I tell you that is like a plus plus matchmaking, it's just beautiful.
This is why this is why you keep him around.
This is why you keep Robert Valentin around.
This is, yeah.
We get Vitor Petrino versus Austin Lane, sure.
But then we start to cook with gas a little bit.
Fatima Klein versus Super Melly.
Oh, my God.
What a great fight.
Lauren Murphy's back, AK.
She is back in our lives, taking on Edward Amara.
Kennedy Institute versus Walter Walker, some heavyweight action like there never was one.
Stephen Thompson versus Gabriel Bondfim, interesting matchup.
Sure.
The action man, the welterweight action man.
Oh, he's back.
He's back fighting Max Griffin and welterweight.
More welterweight action, AK, hold on to your hats.
Jake Matthews versus Chee and Jokwani.
co-main event, which it probably will be the co-main event.
This should be the co-main event.
Calvin Cater versus Steve Garcia.
Great fight.
And then the best golfer in UFC history,
Derek Lewis versus Talish and Tash and Chera.
And we all know what's going to happen because this is like every Derek Lewis fight.
He's going to fight a guy who's way out of his depth and Derek's going to clobber him.
That's what I predict will probably happen in this one.
So that's going to be just like a fun watch.
and by the way,
why does every UFC card
have to be a six-fight main card?
You have to see Atlanta's going to go
until like three in the morning.
What are we doing?
It won't be.
Like it wasn't Burns and Morales
last week,
only five-fights?
Like five fights minus one, right?
Minas because they lost,
what happened last week?
Yeah, it was only a five-fight main card.
Yeah, and it was only going to be a five-fight main card.
So that was great.
Like, that was, yeah.
That was great.
That was so solid.
Like, I don't know.
And this,
this card didn't even make sense today.
Like this was like they had 10 fights.
You easily could have made it five and five and started at 630.
Because they started the broadcast at 630 anyway.
And then the first fight didn't start until 7.
Why not just make it five preliminary fights and start the broadcast at 630?
Why did they do this?
Why?
Mike, why?
Oh, man.
I don't know.
Okay.
I mean, look, I mean, these aren't the greatest fight cards of all time.
They're just not.
Atlanta's good.
I like Nashville, but like it's, we probably expect and probably deserve more.
But at the same token, think about this, ladies and gentlemen, we are not going back to the
world's most famous apex for over two months after this.
No apex cards in June.
No apex cards in July.
Sad.
So we get a break.
No.
From the sole apex.
Mike, no.
If you are like me and already suffering from Apex Octagon Withdrawals,
and you miss it. Don't forget, tune into the Ultimate Fighter every week where you get to watch one fight.
You can watch one fight and the UFC Apex every week. All right? So it'll hold you, it'll hold you along until we are back in the beautiful Apex. So yes, Ultimate Fighter every Tuesday, ESPN, ESPN Plus, 10pm, Eastern Time.
I will say this, though, and I mentioned this in the People's Free Fight show. I do like the roster. It's a good roster.
Good. Solid.
Good fighters.
Morales looked good.
You mean, like,
they got good fighters in the roster this time.
Unfortunately, it's about the coaches,
and especially when you have two coaches who don't,
aren't going to fight each other.
That's what I want.
That's better that way.
I don't care about the fight.
Do we need more Daniel Cormey and Chill Sonan?
Is that like, yeah.
You know, I don't think we need more of that.
But listen, if you're an ultimate fighter fan,
You're covered for the next several weeks.
We have contender series coming back, so get excited for that.
And no apex cards for two months.
And it is officially UFC 316 fight week, everybody.
So, AK, I will see you tomorrow morning for some matchmaking.
We're on to the next one for all of you guys.
Appreciate you for Nick's Nation.
I'm kind of messing with you, but kind of not.
It's a bummer.
But someday your prince will come.
It's just not coming today.
Good night, everybody.
We appreciate you.
Have a great night.
