All right, everybody.
We are live.
Look at that.
As we react to a pretty weird and wild night of combat sports action, UFC Vegas 93,
finally comes to an end with Tatsura, Tyra, finishing off Alex Perez with just a
very strange, but kind of unfortunate, but really slick body triangle takedown that injures
Alex Perez.
did not look good, was not in the cage during the announcement of the winner.
Tetsu, Retire improves to 16-0.
This guy is a bad, bad man.
We had Anderson Silva and Chil Sunnan have what will go down in the books as a boxing match of some kind,
but one we will probably never go back and watch again.
Maybe we'll go back and watch again.
Who the hell knows?
And then Tank Davis did Tank Davis things to Frank Martin,
an absolutely brutal knockout in round eight.
And that sort of caps off a crazy night,
the trio of events that we've been pretty much talking about all week long.
But thank you for joining us.
I am Mike Heck.
And as you can see,
the incomparable New York, Rick,
kind enough to join us at 1.11 a.m. on a Saturday night.
How we doing, sir?
Couldn't be better.
After the start of my week, like, it's all upside from here, baby.
Like, I feel great.
I'm ready to go.
That was fun.
for me after what I experienced in the beginning of the week.
Yeah, strep throat sucks, man.
It's awful.
No good.
It is no good.
Tattoo's hire is pretty good, huh?
Golly.
It seemed like when he came out, there's some, I hate playing like armchair psychologist,
but he seemed a little bit nervous, seemed like the first maybe minute of the fight.
He was, you know, kind of getting bullied around a little bit by Alex Perez, but then he figured
it out.
He started getting his distance.
He was looking really crisp on the feet.
dude just real, real good.
And then once he really started flowing,
round two, he ends up taking Perez's back.
He locks in the body triangle.
Even Dominic Cruz called it.
He was like he's got that leg trapped.
He's trying to get that take down.
You don't see that that often, but it looks like he's going to get.
He's going to try to rip him to the ground.
And he did exactly that.
And Alex Perez just screams in pain.
Tyra, shout out to him.
He could have delivered a lot more damage,
but he knew the damage was already done.
Referee steps in, stops the fight.
And it is all over.
So your thoughts,
reactions to what you saw from the young man, Tetsuro Tira, picking up the biggest win of his career.
This was great matchmaking. This felt like a perfect step. It felt like Alex Perez was testing
Tyra. And it's unfortunate that it ended with a knee injury or what seems to be a knee
injury to Perez because he was giving Tyra problems. Like I get that the jab look good and don't
give me wrong like tyra's technical and has some some really nice striking tools um but it looked like
he was having trouble it looked like Perez was able to close the distance on him and really land the
better shots once they were inside close um he still looks very raw like you know the tools are
clearly there there's no doubt like you can just look at the way the guy grapples the way he was
able to get the back um once he had the opportunity even the creativeness of what he was trying to do
with this takedown that you do not see very often.
He's got the tools.
There's no doubt.
At this point, you can put that one to bed.
The dude has the tools to be a truly tremendous, like, elite level fighter.
But mixing the phases is the hardest part of this.
Like being able to put it all together, being able to be everything at all times, right?
Being able to flow between the different phases, both offensively and defensively,
and mix the striking with the grappling and the in-between moments is how you become an all-time great.
And he looks raw in that regard.
It looks like he's ready to do one or he's ready to do the other.
And he's very good at all of those skills.
But mixing them all is when he's going to be able to take that next step.
And it looked like Perez was giving him problems.
Like it did not look like a super clean performance.
So I'm interested to see what the next step looks like for him, right?
I wouldn't be surprised if he's in there with Pantosia just because, as we've talked about many, many times, the lack of depth at flyweight and the real need for contenders.
But I would like to see him take another one.
I really like to kind of see him against another top rank fighter because I thought that was playing out to be a tremendous fight.
I was very excited about how that was going.
So good performance, possibly great performance just based on what that finish looked like.
But looks raw.
He looks raw.
He has all the tools, but he still looks raw to me.
Yeah, I mean, it was just a really big step up in competition for him.
And I think he felt the weight of the opportunity as well.
I mean, a guy like that, they've been building up real slow.
And then to go from the guys he was fighting, getting booked against multiple opponents on multiple dates.
And then finally it's a main event spot against a guy like Alex Perez who only loses to like the best dudes in the division.
it's pretty remarkable what he's been able to do with, like you said, some just raw ability,
and eventually he's going to put it all together.
And I think you're right.
He could get the title fight.
I don't think he will, but I think he's in a position now, especially with the way this fight ended.
If something happens with Menel Kopp or Muhammad Mikhail, I think he's the first call you make to go over and fight in London.
Or Manchester, excuse me, at this point.
maybe fight one of those dudes if one of those guys can't make it.
And on the other end, I saw some suggestions in here already.
There's Amir al-Bazi, but we don't know what's going on with him.
And there's Brennan Royval.
Like him and Brennan Royval would be a really good test.
That's a really good fight.
Yeah, I'd be concerned about Royval's grappling in that.
I feel like Tyra has a very, like, clear path to victory there.
But I rate Royval.
And as I said, I'd like to see him against another top-rank guy.
So I'm cool with any of those options.
I think there's a lot of opportunities there for him at flyweight.
But to your point, I wouldn't be surprised to see him step in there if there's an injury or just next.
Like it is a division and need of kind of somebody to break out.
So we'll see what happens.
But I would love any of those fights that you listed.
Yep.
This is a tough night at the office, man.
Like, I mean, we kind of knew it would be.
This was one of the worst top to bottom fight cards that we've ever seen.
seen, at least we've seen in the last four years, and boy, did it play out that way.
Miles Johns wins a decision against Douglas Silva-Dandrudge.
Lucas Almeida pulls up the upset against Timmy Kawamba.
Really good scrap, I will say.
Brady Highstand, Garrett Armfield, brought it.
Brady Highstand picks up a huge win against a really good fighter.
Seulamabayev continues to be real good at 125.
Adam Fuget and Josh Quinlan go to the cards.
Didn't see that coming.
Nate Mainis, Jimmy Flick goes to the cards
As soon as that went to the cards
I was like, oh man, we're gonna be watching fights
till the freaking sun comes up
Gabriella Fernandez, Carly Judas, fun fight.
Carly Judas, that was just her fifth pro fight.
She is just gonna be super fun to watch moving forward.
Josephine Knudsen remains undefeated,
McHeal Costa with the submission win.
No actual knockouts on this card.
We did have a technical TKO with the finish.
And Weston Wilson with the big upset win.
And you know what?
Let me just say this before the bonus has come,
because I think Weston Wilson deserves this.
And Weston Wilson had some things to say about the media
during his post-fight scrum.
And I've said some unkind things about Weston Wilson,
mostly because I cringe almost watching him fight
because it just looks so bad.
Like he just gets bumped up to the point where he can't even defend it.
And it's just scary to me that he's in there,
fighting people. But boy, oh boy, he looked good tonight. And let me just say this live on the air
right now. Weston Wilson, I apologize. You proved me wrong. Made me look like a dink. And I am man
enough to come on here and say that I was wrong. And you want to take shots and you want to flip
the hypothetical middle finger my way for saying mean things? Do it. I deserve it. And a great
win for you. And if you don't get $50,000, it is an absolute travesty. And I was even saying,
before we got to the main card,
he should get two bonuses
because of how good he looked
and how nasty that submission was.
It's a rare triangle arm bar.
It doesn't happen all that often,
but good win for Weston Wilson
did not see that coming and good stuff.
But I think the MVP of this event,
New York, Rick.
And boy, it took 11 fights to get there.
Dominic Cruz,
after one of the eye pokes,
goes out,
it talks a whole bunch of smack about the gloves.
And you can tell
that somebody said something like don't you do it dominic take it back take it back damn it boy he back
peddled so quickly it was the best it was like my favorite favorite moment of the entire card
incredible it was a big it was a big dominant cruise night dominant cruz is on commentary getting his
tweets also on the screen while he's talking on commentary it was a it was a big dominant there's a lot
of dominant cruise um so if you're a dominic cruise fan you got you got what you needed uh
tonight. Can I have the Cliffs Notes version of what Weston Wilson said in the post fight?
Like what was his gripe? So the clip I saw was he basically said, look, called out all the
media members and said, you guys said I was like the worst featherweight signing in UFC history
that I didn't belong here and all this stuff. Like I heard everything that you said. And I'm,
I will say this. I didn't, I've never said that he was the worst featherweight signing. Have I said
that he probably shouldn't be in the UFC.
Yeah, but he's not the only one.
There are many fighters on the roster
because there's like seven million of them.
Then aren't you like technically UFC caliber fighters,
but that's just the world we're in now
because we have all these different shows.
We have all these events and you need to call in short notice people
and if you have the right management,
you can get in a little bit quicker.
And Weston Wilson, to his credit,
but two really tough dudes.
Like John Silva is badass.
Joe Anderson Brito, really good fighter, but he just looked so mismatched against those two guys.
Like, it was just really bad.
His record, he's got nine losses.
It just, I don't know, it was just tough.
Like, it was almost sad to watch him.
It was like, it was like watching Thomas Gifford fight Mike Davis, just getting blasted all over the place.
And, like, he had no defense for it.
It was like, I was just nervous watching him.
But yeah, shout out to him.
Shout out to him for getting it done.
gets a bonus and you know i will reach out to his team i will do an interview with him and i'll
apologize man to man to him and be like you know what i deserve you a little middle finger and
there you go that's what happens i throw some things out there and i'm right sometimes and i'm wrong
sometimes and that's just the way that it goes so we'll wait for the bonuses we'll let you know what
happens with that i assume weston will be one of them brady high stand should probably get two bonuses
if we're being honest that's got to be the fight of the night right for sure and i think submitting a guy
like Garrett Armfield probably deserves a second bonus.
And yeah, I mean, that's pretty much,
there's really not a lot to this card that we're going to remember.
I think Ariel will probably maybe interview a person or two.
And by the time we get to the Wednesday show,
we're going to be forgetting all about this one
and going on to Saudi Arabia.

Did you watch Anderson Silver versus Chale Sunnan, New York, Rick?
That's the big question.
I flipped it on for about 30 seconds, realized what was happening and then flipped away.
And what was happening was a, to call it a sparring session, might be too violent.
Like, I've seen, I've seen more dangerous haircuts than that was a fight.
So, yeah, I flipped it on for 30 seconds and then just realized.
what was happening and tuned out.
Well, you made the right decision because that was the rest of the fight.
It basically went down like that.
In the fourth round, Chale tripped over his own feet and fell to the ground.
Oh, perfect.
Great.
I missed it because I was live blocking it.
And I was like, Anderson did something and Chale fell.
And the referee had him step up and he like touched his gloves.
And it seemed like he was doing everything one would do if someone got knocked down.
But they showed all the replays and they didn't show,
Shale falling so I figured baby tripped over his own feet and then in the fifth round like the
fight ends Anderson's got a so the son's got a bloody nose he's breathing really heavy they actually
stop the action so that this quarter could come in and wipe the blood off of his nose like that's
this fight was and then when it was over Chale looked like he was in a five round boxing match and
and Anderson Silva looked like he walked around the ring five times like that's literally what
it was that not an ounce of sweat on him nothing that's what I expected from the first 30
second, so I'm glad to hear that it was confirmed. Shout out to Chale and Anderson for the,
for the grift and grabbing the bag. Again, I don't think anybody, you know, it was a, it was an event
specifically for Brazil sponsored by a beer company who, to their credit, like, they've done a
tremendous job marketing this thing and also getting the attention on the back end of it. So,
hopefully it, you know, worked for them from a, from a business perspective, whatever they were
trying to kind of achieve there. Hopefully, uh, Chale and.
Anderson and everybody else on the car got paid well.
And then we just move on.
Yeah, it was not, uh, let's just say this was not the, the trilogy fight that, uh,
you know, is a continuation of the first two.
I think, I think this one will live very separately from what happened in those first
two fights.
Uh, for those wondering if, like, who won the fight, um, nobody.
It was an exhibition match.
They went all five rounds.
It was technically a draw.
And it's not even a draw because it's an exhibition match.
There's just no winner of the fight.
So I guess the 700 VIPs were the winners that they got to see Anderson Silva compete
for the final time in Brazil, it appears.
So that happened.
And I would assume the reason, the biggest reason you didn't watch the rest of that fight is because you were watching.
I'm not going to say the real boxing match.
The one we're all there to see if you're a boxing fan, Tank Davis versus Frank Martin.
And shout out to Jose Youngs on our preview show.
Basically laid out the fight absolutely perfect.
said Frank was going to come out, look real good, he's going to use the speed,
he's going to have moments, who's going to get ahead on the cards,
and then Tank was going to start landing some power shots,
who's going to basically show Frank that he didn't respect Frank's power at all,
and then the fight was going to end in either round eight or round nine,
and boy, did it end in round eight.
Tank Davis is just an absolute maniac.
That finish of that fight, the uppercut,
and then the finishing blow that just put Frank Martin to the mat
and dunzo was nasty.
I have watched that highlight 80 times now,
and I'll probably watch it 50 more before I go to bed.
It was insane.
What did you think of the entire fight?
I didn't get to watch the entire fight,
but I got to watch the last like round in a quarter,
and I got to see the knockout.
Yeah, I mean, I thought exactly what it sounds like Jose Young's predicted.
Frank looked good.
Frank looked fast and seemed to be picking up
and accumulating rounds on Tank.
There was a point around the fifth, six, where it became very clear that this was just biting time until a tank knocked him out.
He stopped moving.
He really started getting stuck in the corners a lot, just kind of hanging out in the corners, like a few times he was able to evade it.
But he really was just sitting there waiting for tank to lance them.
And when you give Tank Davis those opportunities, that's exactly how that's going to go.
and he's got that otherworldly power for the guy for a guy his size he's got that you know
dante wilder type francis and ganu type mike tyson type power where it's just you're if you
if you are going to be a stationary target if you're going to wait for tank davis to hit you you're
going to get knocked out that's just how that goes and at a certain point frank was frank martin was
in a corner waiting to get knocked out um
Um, it's inevitable.
It is inevitable.
Tank Davis is inevitable.
His power is inevitable.
And so if you don't have the tools, look, there's a world where the, the, the,
the game plan that Frank Martin had in the first three, four rounds can work, where you can
stick and move and get around the ring.
Um, but there's going to be a time where tank Davis bites down in his mouthpiece and comes
forward and traps you in a corner and, and how many fights have we seen end exactly this way?
Like, that is what tank Davis does.
but Frank was a sitting duck at a certain point.
You could see it coming just too many times in the corner.
And the commentary team screaming it out.
I'm screaming it in my living room, like not even in my office.
What are you doing?
Get out of there.
And he had opportunities.
It wasn't like, it wasn't like, you know, tank was unloading on him in the corner.
When he had him in the corner, he was able to sit there and pick his shots and Martin just wasn't evading.
So inevitable.
Tank Tank Davis is a is a bad mofo and that power is stupid.
And I'm just like, there's so many good fights for him out there.
Like there's it's just, there's infinite fights for Tank Davis at this weight class.
And so or, or, you know, in the 135 in the 140 pound range, there's just so many guys and so many fights and so many opportunities that he can do this for a good long while.
I think there's some guys that are going to give him problems, if I'm being honest.
I do think there are going to be some guys who are just technical like I would love to see tank
and Shakur.
I think that would be a really, really good fight.
But man, the power.
The power is just next level, otherworldly.
And not that we didn't know this, right?
Like this is not a revelation.
If you get trapped in a corner with Tank Davis, that's pretty much it.
So didn't learn.
It's not like I learned something new, but another big win for Tank.
and he has proclaimed himself to face of boxing.
I don't know if it's a,
I don't know if that's the truth.
You know,
I don't know if that's an objective truth
where you can say he's the face,
because I think there are several others
who could kind of lay claim to that,
but he's one of the faces.
And when he fights, people watch.
100%.
100% agree.
There are so many good fights.
I wonder if Sean O'Malley's going to continue to say Tank Davis's name.
If I'm him, I'm not saying his name anymore.
I mean, I couldn't care less about that.
I do not do that's about Sean O'Malley versus Tank Davis in a boxing match.
I get, look, I get many, many moons ago, Connor McGregor stepped in there and looked, you know,
halfway decent against Floyd Mayweather.
I was still contest to this day that he got carried.
It did not look like Floyd Mayweather was trying too hard for the first couple of rounds.
I have no interest in seeing Sean O'Malley get snobbled by Tank Davis because that's the only way that goes.
Yeah, I don't really want to see that.
either. We're still waiting on the bonuses for the UFC card. David Benavides did David Benavita's
things. He is fun and boy, is he over at the MGM Grand New York, Rick. Yeah, he looked good.
I will say the end of that fight, he started, you know, the gas kind of, he took his foot off the
gas a little bit. And I don't know if that's the performance you want on when you're trying to
chase down these big fights, right? When you're looking at Better Be a Bivel, Canelo Alvarez,
when you're like knocking on the door of some massive massive opportunities you probably wanted to put more of a stamp on it that said he was never in danger in that fight like that was just cruise control and he's such a he's such a nightmare like the pace that he sets and the body work that he's doing and just knowing that he's going to stick you with the jab and then walk you down and and try to hurt you with some nasty body shots and come
to the head. He's a real problem to figure out. He's, he's a very, very scary type of dude to fight.
But I will say, like, I don't know if that's the performance that I'm going like, yeah, if I'm Canelo,
yeah, I need to. I don't, I don't feel that way. That was not the one that makes me go,
I need to do this fight. So I would have maybe like to see a little more of a stamp on it, but
he fought a tough, he fought a really tough, good boxer tonight. So it's hard to really
fault him. And as I said, like, there was no point where he was in danger, right? That was his
fight the whole way through. There was, even, even when he's losing rounds, it was his fight.
So, um, I, I'm a fan of Benavides. I think he's really good. And I think he proved that tonight.
But I, but I would like to see a little more of a stamp on it if, if I'm calling for the biggest
names of boxing. Yeah, the, I don't think the performance really gets Canello all fired up.
but I think seeing how popular Benavides was might be the thing that gets him.
He's definitely becoming a guy, no doubt.
Yeah, I was, I mean, I expected him to get a good reaction, but I didn't expect that.
I mean, he was treated like a freaking superstar when he walked out and throughout the fight.
So good performance.
Shout out to Morrow Rinalo as well for using the word putrid at one point during a fight on the undercard.
Well, I was going to stay not very, not during Benavides, hopefully.
Okay.
Not that fight.
No, not that fight.
There are some good bangers in the undercard.
Some of the early fights were tough hangs.
Probably should have happened at the world's most famous Apex.
We're still waiting.
Still waiting on bonuses at this point.
I think, I mean, it's just a matter of whether we're going to get a fight at the night or not.
But we'll let you know as soon as that happens.
But at this point, we'll answer a few questions.
We're not going to be here for an hour.
I can tell you that right now.
There's too much happening right now.
So we'll go to some super chats and then we'll get some comments as well.
AG 45 is Tank Davis really that good New York, Rick?
He gets hit a lot.
He doesn't have the best skill set ever, but he gets knockouts.
Loma is an interesting fight though.
Love the Loma fight.
Yeah, love the Loma fight.
I don't think he gets hit a lot.
I don't think that's really the tank M.O.
That's not what I see when I watch tank fight.
But he does get outworked, right?
Like, Tank is liable to drop rounds because he, like, and this is just,
true of many of the biggest punchers in combat sports. Because they know they have that equalizer,
because they know they have that weapon, they're not pressing as hard. They don't have to press as hard.
When you're Tank Davis and you know if I get a guy in a corner at any point in this fight,
there's a 50-50 shot that he's going to sleep. You don't have to press and you don't have to be
on your horse and you don't have to rather be on your bike and you don't have to be sticking and
moving and getting that volume. I don't think tank gets hit too much. I
definitely don't think that that's his issue. His issue is always going to be if somebody can
outmaneuver him and if somebody can stick and move and if somebody can be higher volume,
sounds like a guy like Lomachenko, right? If you're trying to describe somebody who could do that,
if they can do that, they can win the fight. They can definitely win a fight with tank.
If they can avoid that power and stick and move and pick up those rounds, they can win that
fight. I would love to see Lomachenko. And I think that that is a style that will frustrate and
give him problems because if he can't hunt him down, he's going to lose.
a decision. If he can't find him, he's going to lose a decision. So that's more, I think,
the issue for Tank is going to be, there's guys who are just going to be able to stick and move,
and they are going to have the volume. His game, though, like, is predicated on the idea that
it doesn't really matter because at some point in the six to nine to 12 round range, he's going to find
you and he's going to hurt you. And he does. That is what he does. So, yeah, I'm not, I'm not
concerned about him getting hit. I'm concerned about him
getting out pointed.
Yeah. Loma fight's super interesting.
Yeah. That's super interesting. Great fight. Like you said, there's so many of them.
Chase, worst trilogy, Chuck Tito
of a son-in.
Let me just say, I don't think we can include this, this fight, this match, this
bout, whatever we want to like actually dub this moving forward. I don't think we can
count this in what we got in the first two fights between
Sylva and Son.
This feels like a separate outlier thing to me.
This feels more like a marketing activity.
This feels more like something that,
you know,
is unrelated to the series of fights that they had.
So I'm not judging too harshly.
Like I'm accepting this for what it was,
which was a nice marketing night for Spatant's.
I think spotten.
Spotten.
Thank you.
For spotten and some, you know, well-dressed people in Brazil, including our own Brazilian
B-skiy or May Cruz.
So that's all.
I'm not, I'm not caring about this.
That's a funny question, though.
It is a funny question.
The answer is clearly Chuck Tito because that third fight should have never happened.
It made me sad.
But the key to that third fight was, or this question is they were actually trying to hurt
it.
Like, they were trying to fight.
That's the point.
Like this was not,
they were not trying to fight here.
So,
yeah,
different category.
Shout out to Anderson Silva.
I mean,
Chale was there with the son and his family.
Like,
you don't want to just nuke the dude in front of his family.
Like,
you don't want to do that.
And then at the same token,
like Chale doing media scrums,
speaking to the media that are there,
including our own gear,
McCruz,
says he still undefeated.
And in his mind,
he won three rounds to two.
And then,
had some things to say about Jorge Mazadol, and something tells me that Jorge Mazadol
will not lose a wink of sleep whatsoever.

Let's go to Will.
Please explain Jedd's fart system, Celtics and 5.
Yes, it will be Celtics and 5.
Look, just this whole notion, and I have to,
even our own SBNation.com wrote it or an article saying,
The Mavericks wrote a blueprint on how they can make history.
No, you didn't.
Get them, Mike.
Get them.
Get them.
Come after these Celtics haters.
Get them.
Tell them.
Just stop.
Just stop.
It's Monday.
We're going to call it a day.
I said Celtics and 5 from day one.
even your friend
GC and Joe
and everybody in the back thought I was crazy
but I said Celtics in 5
it's going to end in 5 this reminds you
of going back to the history books
Celtics in 84
got absolutely massacred on the road
and then they went back to Boston and won their next game
by 35 and then won the championship
it's good
good job by Dallas like they didn't get humiliated
look what's going on in the Stanley Cup finals
the freaking Florida Panthers are 3-0
they lost 8 to 1 tonight
to the Edmontonoylers, 8 to 1.
That is worse than what happened to the Celtics last night.
So it's all good.
As far as the fart system goes, Jed rates cards based on quality.
So there's the Michulin scale for like pay-per-views and fight nights and big events.
And then there's the fart scale for pretty awful lineups like this.
And basically they chose like the baseball wins above replacement stat and they turned it into fights.
So they call it fight above replacement tussles just so they could be funny and be in and throw.
the fart name out there. So it's basically like things within the card that are interesting to him.
And I think he gave this a one and a half. So out of the 11 fights and the 22 competitors,
only one and a half things on this entire card were interesting to him. So that's where that
scale comes from. And most of these apex cards get like two, two and a half. This is by far the
lowest that Jed has put together for a score. But that's just basically how he puts it all together.
what would interest him
fighters or fight specifically, only three fighters
on the card interested yet for this one.
So that's the scale.
Terence, what are the odds?
Hamza Chimayev Zab beats himself.
What legend
would he leave
if he hung it up?
So I got to say, New York, Rick,
I am
I'm not going to say I'm surprised by the reaction
to this Hamzaa withdrawal. I get the frustration.
Totally understand it.
You want to see this guy fight.
came on like a wrecking ball, won two fights very, very quickly.
He knocks out Gerald Mirchart.
We thought he was on the fast track to fighting for a UFC title,
and we've been waiting for that.
He's been in a million number one contender fights.
He's been matched up in a million different ways,
and it's just been a roller coaster ride ever since that UFC debut
that opened everybody's eyes.
But man, he's badly, like, he's, dude, is sick sick.
Like, I don't know if you saw Guram Kutatelathe's Instagram story,
but, like, he's sitting there in a hospital with Hamzot,
who's like in a hospital bed just like looking like he's about to die.
So like you can't blame the guy.
Like the dude is just falling really,
really sick and there's like photographic evidence of it.
So as much as you want to sit there and be like,
oh, hums that's this,
hums that's that.
Like the dude's sick.
Like what can you do?
Right?
I'm with you and I would never, you know,
I don't really,
whatever the reason somebody pulls out of a fight,
I'm kind of okay with it, right?
whether it be injury, whether it, like, I don't think this is not a tough man competition.
Like, nobody needs to prove anything to anybody, you know, all the way down the line to
Connor McGregor, like, I want to see Connor McGregor fight at his best, right?
That's kind of what I want to see.
I don't want to see a compromised version.
So if we have to wait a little longer, we have to wait a little longer.
When it comes to Hamzat, though, I kind of understand the sentiment that, like, what is he
doing that is preventing him from getting to fights?
because it seems to be a consistent issue, right?
What is happening in the training?
What is happening in how he's taking care of himself and all these things?
If it's just freak stuff, if it ends up at the end of the day, like, we'll look back on
his career and just be like, man, that guy just got a bad deal.
That guy got a raw deal, a bad break, kept getting sick, whatever, kept getting injured,
nothing he could have done about it.
Then okay, it was snake bitten and it wasn't meant to be.
But I do get the sense that the fans are looking.
for clarity on why it tends to be him.
You know, it tends to be him in terms of the training.
It tends to be him in terms of these illnesses and things that he just seem very specific.
They seem very specific to him.
And so that's where I think more the frustration comes from than the idea that he's sick.
But it's almost like, is he sick again?
You know, that kind of deal.
And again, I'm not, I'm okay.
Look, if Hamz, I believe Hamzad is like,
like championship caliber material, but it's his life, it's his career. Like we're,
we're passengers in this scenario, right? We don't, we don't get to step in there with him.
And so if whatever he's doing is not the way, but he wants to keep doing it that way,
ultimately, I'm, you know, going to let him do that. But it's frustrating. I understand.
100%. I totally understand. I get it, man. I totally understand it.
Like, fights Usen.
It was the number one contender fight.
It looked like a wrecking ball.
Then he got tired.
He got hurt.
Usman, a lot of people thought it was a draw.
Some people thought Usman won that fight.
Yeah.
And like, Dana went to the press conference in Abu Dhabi and was like, eh, not ready to commit to it.
And then we put him on the Saudi car.
We're like, all right, it's Saudi.
He's going to fight.
It's Robert Whitaker.
Like, this is a big, freaking fight.
It's a huge deal.
Turkey, getting a big one.
After everything that happened with the attempted booking for the March card,
that they were going to do in Saudi.
Like, this was, this was good stuff.
And again, he's not fighting.
So I think, honestly, October is going to be what we have to circle.
If you're a Hamza-Chimaia fan, hopefully whatever this illness is, it's not super serious.
And if he doesn't fight in Abu Dhabi in October on the pay-per-view, I know they're going
in August, but I think that's probably too quick if you have an illness and it looks as bad
as it does on photos, then we have some problems.
So I get the frustration.
We want to see this guy fight.
We want to see how good he actually is, but at the same token, if a man's sick,
like, and it seems like he's real sick, that's tough, man.
That's tough.
Let's go to a few other comments.
We're still waiting for bonuses.
I just don't understand this.
It's been 30 minutes if we don't have bonuses.
Tough decisions this time, you know?
There's just so many to choose from.
What, we had four finishes and 11 fights, so we could do that.
It's just a matter of, do we do a fight of the night or not?
that's kind of where we're at this point
let's see if we got anything here
I saw some questions being spammed
Mike is holding Boston mic back
right now no I'm good
I'm good
I said like sucked ass last night I was I was like good
I can go to bed at a decent hour
hmm
let's go to this is the one I kept seeing
on the pre-show Megan Ali confirmed it it
it looked like UFC 305 is going to be
per ever Sparashka 2 if Connor didn't happen
what do they do to main event Australia now?
I think we know the answer to this question.
Yeah, what they should have done before.
I don't understand why would that have been the main event?
Like, the main event should be Izzy versus DDP.
Right.
So, you know, we talked about this.
Like Ariel during his reporting, once everything was put together, mentioned 305.
I mentioned 305 as well because that's what I heard.
They were talking about headlining.
The initial thought from what I was told was they were going to do both those fights on
that card. Pereira, Parashka would be the main event and then Izzy DDP would be the co-main
event. Silly. Why? Honestly, because you could put Pereira anywhere. Like, why Perth? Why does he have to be
above Izzy too? Like, that's kind of like, I don't. If I'm busy, I'm freaking livid if that,
if that happens. Yeah, I don't want to come off as like some Izzy apologist because certainly I think,
you know, people know how I feel about Izzy skills and, and I'm quite fond of him as a fighter. But
like what the fuck like i've been a really good champion for the promotion why would you have
alex perera of all people headlining like and choose anybody else i to me he doesn't strike
me israel doesn't strike me as the type who's going to get too upset if somebody's headlining
above him um but does it have to be alice perera what a weird kind of like slap in the face
why does that have to happen anyway doesn't really matter because the rightful main event should be
Israel versus DDP because that's a massive fight and should be a main event.
So I don't know what stroke of genius happened that that now happens.
But yeah, Izzy versus DDP.
What are we doing here?
Yeah.
I mean, you just got to do it here.
You just got to do it here.
We have two of the bonuses right now, which means we're going to get a fight of the night.
Two performance bonuses, New York, Rick.
Who do you think got them?
Weston Wilson.
Mm-mm.
Oh, so then.
this is a bunch of horseshit.
Wait, so no Weston Wilson.
All right, so then...
Dude, it gets a triangle arm bar
and doesn't get a bonus.
It's insanity.
Oh, I'm going to butcher this guy's name.
The milk guy, Costa.
No.
No, no, no.
Who got it?
What?
So that none of the finishes
actually got bonuses?
No, two finishes got bonuses.
Brady, he's one.
Oh, and then Tatsuro Taira?
And Tatsuro Tira gets the other bonus.
Serious?
Come on, man.
Weston Wilson doesn't get a bonus.
Over Weston Wilson?
Especially, like,
dude's attack of the media.
Like, that should have been 100,000 for him.
The UFC loves that.
So Brady is going to walk home with 100K for sure,
because that was the fight of the night.
I mean, that's a given at that point.
It should be.
They could, however,
if they, and I don't think this was actually the fight of the night,
but they could go Gabriella Fernandez,
Carly Julius is the fight of the night.
It was a great fight.
It was not the fight of the night.
It was a great fight, though.
Yeah.
But we'll see.
We're still waiting on that.
We have not gotten that tweet yet from the UFC.
I'm stunned.
Weston,
you know what, brother?
I feel you, Weston.
I'm coming around to team Weston here.
It seems like this man can't,
he's the Rodney Dangerfield of M.MA.
He can't get any damn respect.
So shout out my boy,
Weston Wilson.
Like, he deserves something here.
Weston Wilson might be the new park reporter of M.A.
Fighting.com after this performance
tonight, especially him not getting photos.
You completely flipped. I've won 80 on the man.
I've won eight on the man.
I just, dude showed up
and delivered a rare submission. I think there's only been
13 of them in the history of the UFC, the triangle
arm bar. Like, this is a nasty shit.
And he doesn't get a bonus? Come on, man.
That's insanity.
That's wild. Put some respect on
Weston Wilson's name, man. You put some respect on
Western Wilson's name. Come on.
One of the best featherweights that ever
did appear.
Shout out to Stephen.
Chale got all four UFC bonuses tonight.
Sure.
Oh, man.
That fight certainly took place.
It certainly took place.
I can't find the question, but somebody asked about it.
We'll take a couple more that we're going to get out of here.
There it is.
Do you think the new UFC gloves are preventing chaos?
No.
I mean...
I don't either.
My answer is, like, I don't know.
My answer is remains to be seen.
If all of a sudden we're, you know,
six months into these and chaos are significantly down,
then I think that's worth at least exploring the data on.
But I'm going to say no.
I'm going to say, I don't think so.
I will say no as well.
I know 302 didn't have any knockouts.
I know Louisville didn't have any knockouts for a while.
But then we got some.
You know, we got some.
We got some knockdowns tonight in a few different fights.
even the commentary was saying and I kind of agree
like Garrett Arnfield
like on any other night could have gotten a finish in the second round
like he really had Brady High Stand hurt bad
and on a different night
maybe get a referee who's a little more trigger happy
no one to complain they stopped the fight there
no one yeah they would have been like yeah good stoppage
but the referee let it go and then Brady Highstand
had the performance that he had like it's not like no one's getting
clipped at all. It's just
the cards that
there are and
I don't know. I just
think it's just a weird coincidence
right now. I think we just don't have enough of a
sample size to really know.
It's also really hard to finish fights in the UFC.
Straight up.
Like it's just, it's very hard to finish
fights in the UFC. It is a very high level
of mixed martial arts and it's just
hard. I'm sure
the numbers will snap back. But if they
don't, then
you know maybe investigate who knows if Alex versus Yuri goes five rounds
the gloves reduce chaos fair unless we get over to share unless we get the
to share a fight all over again yeah Yuri and glove at each other I'll I'll accept that as a
as a test case if nobody goes to sleep in Yuri and and Alex then we might have to look at the
gloves yes still no fight of the night maybe there isn't a fight of there maybe just giving
two bonuses. I don't know.
The UFC is just really delaying the process.
Our boy Weston was sitting right there waiting for one.
Could have just given him performance.
Oh, you know what? Maybe they're just saying
we're going to give Weston Wilson a hundred thousand.
Like he gets the last two bonuses for this incredible performance.
Westin. Westin. Westin.
Weston the goat. Let's go.
Yeah, nothing yet for a fight of that.
Oh, nope. Nope. That was a mistweet.
No.
That was a misstweet by somebody else.
All right.
Hokey-Bokey Herb should get some credit for jumping in to stop,
but when he did good sports with shit for not ground and pounding.
I completely agree for the main event.
Tyson versus Paul, tell me, tell you what?
It's booked.
Yeah, what does that mean?
It's a thing.
Weston Wilson, better than the Iron Turtle.
I hope the M.A.R. chat just gets spammed with West and Wilson stuff.
Like, that's what you need.
That's what the world needs right now.
We've got a couple more super chats.
We'll get to them right now.
And then we're going to get out of here.
Yay, one clip.
Should the main event have been called as a submission?
Holland versus Antivaris was ruled as a submission,
and it was a similar fight ending sequence.
I thought, like, it was a tap or a verbal submission.
But it's not like I have an issue with it.
Like, if I had, like, my MMA fighting staff pick was Tyra second round.
knockout but I was on no bet spard so I had to make bets for the card um it didn't really affect it
i hit both I got tired at minus 180 and the fight under two and a half at plus one 14 so I was happy
with the result there from a betting perspective because I got friggin clobbered all night until
Lucas al-Meda gave me a little upset pick and then I cash those last two ones but uh so I didn't
lose my shirt so not too shabby there but were you surprised they called it a t-kio I guess it just
depends on what Herb Dean saw, right? Like, certainly I think you could hear Perez scream. And if,
if he was reacting to that, then it's a submission, right? It's, it's, it's a TKO. What is it? No, it's a
submission, right? Um, if, uh, if he's reacting to that, but, but it's a tap. Yeah. Yeah, if it's a
verbal tap then and he's reacting to that then it's a submission if he's noticing an injury
independent of what happens there then that's a tk o and so i think it just matters like by point
of of order like what her dean saw and how he rules it um but yeah not going to think too much
about it yeah it seemed yeah it seemed like he noticed either one of those was fine so yeah
either one of those was fine.
One more super chat.
We do have our fight in the night.
I will reveal that in a moment.
Oh, thank God.
No women's ever next week.
Do you think it's because of the location?
If so, it's messed up.
I mean, I don't know.
It's possible.
It has something to do with it.
I don't know for sure.
Yeah.
I mean, there will be many opportunities to go there.
And so we'll see what the rest of the cards look like.
Oh, yeah.
They're going there, a whole bunch.
Even, we'll see if, we'll see if the power slappers get to bring some females over.
Oh, yeah.
Wow.
I forgot about that.
Fight of the night was not what should have been the fight of the night.
It was Judas versus Fernandez.
I'm happy for them.
Congratulations.
But, I mean, they just blew it tonight.
What are these?
What are these bonuses?
No Weston Wilson bonus.
This is freaking ridiculous.
This is freaking ridiculous.
Brady Highstand should have got two bonuses.
I'm sorry.
I mean,
shout out to Carly Judas.
Or if he's getting one or the other.
The night bonuses.
Yeah.
If he's getting one or the other,
it's fight of the night.
I mean,
clearly.
I don't know.
Whatever.
Like,
you know,
as we saw last week,
Dominic Reyes didn't get a bonus.
And then Dominic Reyes petitioned Dana White
and got himself a bonus.
So maybe there will be some lucky Weston.
Talk to Dana.
Time, buddy.
Come on.
Come on.
I know your manager's got Dana's phone number.
Let's go.
Line it up.
Get on the horn.
Get yourself 50K.
You deserve it.
And shout out to you for delivering just an A-plus performance.
If we had any kind of a sponsor for this,
you would get the sponsor performance of the night on our show.
But we don't have a sponsor.
And much respect to all of you.
And for all of you that are up at 2 a.m. after this UFC event,
you are the true MVP's,
even more so than Dominic Cruz talking about the new gloves.
But at this point, we're going to get the hell out of here
because I just don't know what else to talk about.
Luckily, we are getting ready to go to Saudi Arabia
for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
And we don't have to worry about a 7 p.m. prelim
and a 10 p.m. main card for this one.
3 p.m. main card in Saudi, ABC.
We get Robert Whitaker versus Icrow-Scaroff,
a fight that I'm very excited about.
Before we close New York, Rick,
your thoughts on Icramal-Scaroff,
getting this big opportunity to fight Bobby Knuckles.
I like it.
I like it a lot.
I think he's,
I think he's quite good.
And I think this is kind of the lean Robert Whitaker has fallen into, right?
Which is how real are you?
And are you a title contender?
So I'm,
I like this quite a bit.
And again,
like the UFC is kind of like,
as they found themselves with UFC 303,
they're in some real bad spots.
They're in some real tricky predicaments here.
And they're doing the best they can with limited options.
And quite frankly, I think they've pulled it off in both cases.
I think they've successfully kind of like really found something compelling in the absence of many options.
And so, yeah, I'm dead.
I love that.
Excuse me.
Yeah.
Couldn't hit the new button there.
Excitement.
I love the Alaskara flight.
It's a good one.
I'm not going to say I'm bless you
Guzintite I'm not going to say I'm equally as intrigued by the Homesoff fight
but whatever the next step below is I am there with this fight
um yeah alaskarov and armin surukin have been like
the two guys I've been touting for years at this point like they're like
1a 1B and armand's about to fight for the lightweight belt alaskarov getting a jump up
real quick he's just the issue with him is just we haven't seen him enough
he gets booked so many times and then weird things happen.
After his first UFC fight,
they announced he was going to fight freaking Paulo Costa,
and that fight didn't happen for Paulo Costa reasons.
And good on Paulo as well for getting that bag and getting some bigger fights.
But yeah, the betting odds kind of tell the whole story here.
Robert Whitaker minus 1.35, the comeback on Icariff right now,
plus 114.
Money actually coming in on Icaramalaskaroff since the opening lines dropped.
And as I say that, they bounce right.
back up to where the opening lines were in a matter of seconds.
Whitaker minus 142, the comeback on Alice Garra plus 120, exactly where they opened.
Robert Whitaker is a gangster.
That's going to be a fun fight.
Oh, yeah, he is.
He is a BMF.
I know it's a cliche term right now, but BMF indeed.
Robert Whitaker is the man.
So, all right, we're done, everybody.
Thank you all very much.
AK and I will do some matchmaking.
It's not going to come out of the usual time tomorrow because doing a little Father's Day
golf scramble with the little man tomorrow at 9 a.m. Happy Father's Day. Yeah, happy Father's Day
to you too and happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Enjoy the day. Do it makes you happy.
Hang out the fam. Play a little golf if you want. That's what I'm going to be doing. And then once
the golf ends and I finish sweating my ass off, I'll be back here and AK and I will do our matchmaking

over the next few weeks. So thank you all for watching for New York Rick. I am Mike Heck.
Have a great night, everybody. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. And once again, happy Father's Day
to all the dads out there. Good night, everybody. Justice for West Wilson. Yeah, West Ed.
Get on the horn, dude. Get that bonus.
You're almost at the finish line.
But first?
There, the last one.
