Well, feeling stuck is a universal experience. It's a part of our journey. And in these moments,
these raw and unfiltered struggles, that we find our strength and our path forward.
For those of you that don't know me, in December of 2023 marked a pivotal moment in my life.
I underwent major surgery, a hysterectomy, to battle the chronic pain of endometriosis stage
four. This is a journey that has taken over 20 years of my life. And it was a moment filled
with hope and fear and the promise of relief. Yet what I didn't expect was the immediate plunge
into menopause, a challenge that literally no one prepares you for. I knew that this journey
was not going to be an instant fix. I knew that as once I had the surgery that it would be months
of recovery, not only from pain, from eliminating painkillers, but the immediate
stage of menopause threw me for a loop. This journey of a woman is literally layered with
complexities. It's from the onset of menstruation through the trials of childbirth, which I had
many. And perimenopause, which I started to go into months before surgery. It's the finality
of menopause. Each stage brings its own set of challenges. And for me, menopause was the
unexpected battle amid my recovery. You know, every night that I could actually sleep was only
for a few hours. And you know that if you've ever had surgery, sleep is the absolute must so that
you heal. While I couldn't sleep, I would wake up in the moments I could sleep drenched of being
wet from night sweats. I was irritable. I put on weight in a very short amount of time. You know,
not only I was feeling, I mean, I was feeling pain from the surgery, but I knew that I was
going to be feeling better shortly. But I was on this emotional roller coaster marked by the
imbalance of my hormones. I was also really happy to be pain-free, but it was literally
shadowed by all of these lows. For me, every day became more of a low, a period of being
and feeling alone, despite being surrounded by an incredible support system. I have my beautiful
daughter. My mother came out. My sister came out. Endless amount of phone calls and my father and
friends and all of this amazing support system. I felt truly alone. And it's hard when it feels
like no one can understand what it is that you're going through. I know that I'm not alone in the
fact that I'm not the only person to experience this but in these moments I felt stuck that I
couldn't move forward a lack of motivation feeling depressed where I would get on a call with my
ever gracious coaching pod and when everybody was sharing all these amazing beautiful wins and I'm
so happy all I could do was break down and cry because I just couldn't handle it anymore
but let me tell you asking for help is not a sign of weakness but of strength it's a lesson
in vulnerability in admitting that we can't always soldier alone the queen of vulnerability
Brene Brown she has studied this for years and years and years and she says it's so beautiful
And I would recommend watching a TED Talk of hers or just looking her up.
She has endless, endless anecdotes and speaks so well of being vulnerable is to be strong.
The network of support of coaches, mentors, family, friends has literally been my lifeline,
pushing me toward growth, to healing, and to self-discovery.
because I think one of the biggest things that I've realized is that although I felt alone,
I wasn't alone, but I just needed to ask for more. I needed to voice what I was going through
to my doctors, to my family, to my friends. But as you go through this, you don't really know until
you're on one side or the other. And that's the frustrating part because even though little by
little I was getting lower and lower it took me weeks to be like oh crap I feel like shit I feel
low I feel like I don't know what to do I don't know the next step and I'm very very grateful
because I found a doctor who started me on hormone replacement therapy and it's still a journey
I'm still going through the things the ups the downs figuring it out but this doctor is amazing
but it's the exercise, the eating, the stress, the, you know, getting your body into some kind
of normal routine or to try to regulate a body that's literally been stripped of things that
were in your body to help you regulate stressors. Hormones are such an important part of not just
physical health, but mental health. And this has definitely been a huge challenge. And I think my
self-discoveries are endless. And in this spirit of growth, I also want to talk about the mental
health, right? Because I think that I'm so excited and I was crying to my surgeon because I'm so
grateful that he was able to get over 90% of my disease gone. And that is huge. I know that it's
never going to be 100%. But I know that that's enough for me to not be in pain and for me to
function as a human. I'm so ecstatic. Nobody can understand the absolute control that chronic pain
has over you unless you've experienced it. And I wouldn't wish it on my worst. I don't have enemies,
but I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But I want to talk about perseverance and grit and strength
and vulnerability. All of those things play a part in your pursuit of dreams, your pursuit of
finding happiness. And that comes from within. First and foremost, when you can love yourself,
when you can truly own who you are, then that is ultimate love. That is true love.
but taking grit and dedication, surround yourself with like-minded individuals who elevate you and
who also see the possibilities that you never imagined. This happened to me in October of 2023,
a chance encounter on Instagram while I was scrolling at 1am in the morning. I should have
been sleeping, but probably was in pain at this moment, led me to literally a transformative
experience. An event in Dallas that was called Build Your Brand Live. It was all about being
seen in your brand. How are you showing up? Who's seeing you? And how to best present yourself?
But something deep inside me knew I needed to be there. I didn't know how I was getting there.
financially, childcare. I was driving because Dallas told me to drive. I didn't know the how,
but I knew that it was an ultimate yes that I needed to be there. And that came from listening
to my gut, to my intuition. That has been truly my guiding principle in life. And when I have not
listened to it and I decided that like, I know this is bad for me, but I'm going to do it anyway.
Well, let me tell you, I got off course.
Stuff bad happened to me.
I got sick over and over.
My physical body was saying,
this is not where you're supposed to be.
Get back on track.
Time and time again, my intuition has led me down paths
that has shaped me into who I am today.
And this is a moment that I absolutely knew
that I needed to be in Dallas.
And I'm so grateful that I listen because since October of 2023, I've been able to see
things, envision things for my life and for my business I never thought possible.
I am surrounding myself with people that are more successful than me, that I walk in a
room and I'm with one woman who started the company Cauliflower, my mentors who are huge
in the AI world or in the motivation speaking world. And all of my colleagues in this group
are so motivated, but they're not even more successful. They are just the most amazing,
beautiful people who are forever grateful and are looking to help one person every day. And that is
where I decide to live my life. And I've been truly, truly blessed. And I'm so happy that I
made the decision to listen to my intuition and to my gut. And I will forever be in that part of
myself, moving forward with all of my decisions. It's never steered me wrong. And I promise,
if you learn how to listen to yours, it will not steer you wrong. You know, I want to also throw
out there that age is just a number. I'm 47. I should be well into my career right now, but you
know what? I've decided to pivot. I've decided that rebranding is being the entrepreneur that I
am and constantly building is totally okay. And it's never too late or early to realign yourself
with your true self, the purpose to pursue a new career or to rediscover your passion,
step back from the hustle and journal, meditate, nurture your body. And these are literally the
keys to aligning yourself with your deepest desires and your goals. Last week, I was on my
coaching pod and I told you I broke down. And I had the support of six beautiful and amazing
successful women on my call and they directed me towards a book that talks about stepping back to
step back sometimes when you step back you will catapult i i was telling them that i've lost
creative juices i feel like i'm just going through the motions because of all this stuff that's been
going on in my life and that's not where i want to live and to reignite and create my creativity
again and my passions that I feel so honored to have and blessed to have. Sometimes you have to
step back. And I started to do this. I started to read all the books that I have and to start
journaling and getting into more of that healthy frame of mind where my mind and I started to write
today, which was so amazing. It was like it just kept coming and coming and coming. And I'm so
grateful that I had that support and just that little bit of knowledge to, to kind of step back
and say, yes, this is what I need to do right now. And so all of you listening here, I want you to
know that you're not alone. Even though you might feel alone, you're not because this is how I've
been feeling. I know I'm not the only one to have a hysterectomy because of stage four endometriosis
and instantly go into menopause.
I know that.
I'm intellectually smart.
But when you're in it,
when you're in the midst of all the yuck
and the confusion and the sadness,
you're not alone.
Whether you're facing physical,
emotional, or spiritual battles,
it's okay to feel low and to feel stuck.
But my two cents is don't linger there long.
Find your support.
Reach out.
Seek it.
And together, you can move forward with confidence and resilience.
Who is your support system?
It may not be family.
It may not be friends.
It could be coaches.
It could be mentors.
When you diversify your support, I think that that makes such a huge difference because
for me, I'm so grateful that I had these other outlets of support.
Not that I don't love my family and friends, but they're also not going through the business
struggles of an entrepreneur that my coaches and mentors and even my mastermind group is.
So I have an amazing balance. So ask support, reach out to coaches like me who absolutely
love helping people come into their own, find their power and confidence in whether it's going
through being the best version of yourself in dating or in building a business or just in life
to feel your best. And we all have something special to give. We all have things that we're
great at. And I want you to know that the more you seek out help, the faster you can move from
the lows to highs. And I think that's one of the challenges or one of the things that I had
experienced is I don't want to be in that place of feeling low. So the more help I get, I can get
to where I need to be back in alignment faster.
I want to thank you all for joining me on this journey today
and allowing myself to share my story
and be vulnerable with you
because truly the down and dirty
is to connect on real human to human levels
in so many different ways.
It's about real stories and real struggles and real growth.
And remember, I'm here for you to support you,
to guide you.
Let's walk alongside together
to chase your dreams and find your path.
Until next time, stay true to yourself.
Keep pushing forward.
Bye.
