Episode Date: September 4, 2017

I rarely do this, but I just had to put out this special episode to share some really important announcements I don't want you to miss! First off, the next season of the podcast (Season 5 if you’re ...counting) will officially kick off on Wednesday, Sept. 27 with a fresh new episode! This season has a great line-up of guests and a lot of the interviews focus on making money and earning more to help your finances, so you definitely want to tune in! Another thing that’ll be happening on Sept. 27 is my book club! I started a book club in the summer and I want you to join in for the next one. It'll be going down in my Facebook group (Money Life Balance Community) on Sept. 27 at 7pm ET and we're reading Millionaire Teacher by Andrew Hallam. He'll also join us live for the book club, so you won't want to miss that! To learn more, visit https://jessicamoorhouse.com/bookclub Something that’s happening even before all that is a very special event I’ll be doing in my hometown! For all of my Vancouver friends, I'm going to be hosting my Millennial Money Meetup in Vancouver on Monday, Sept. 18, so visit http://millennialmoneymeetup.com to get your tickets before they're sold out! Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, hello, hello, and I hope you've had a wonderful summer. I am Jess Morass, the host of the Mo Money Podcast, in case you don't know, and I've had a lovely summer. I have taken a couple months off from the show, but I am going to be back very soon, which is why I'm doing a very special mini episode because I have a lot of stuff to share before I kick off my next season of the show. But first, let's get to kind of the most important. When will the next season of the show kick off? Well, it will kick off Wednesday, September 27. That is when you can expect a brand new episode from me. And I am so excited because this season I've got a lot of awesome guests. Not that I usually do
Starting point is 00:00:46 themes for my show, but I definitely feel like the theme for this season, it just kind of happened that way, is making money and earning. It is so important to save your money, you know, budget, track your spending, invest and all that good stuff. But there is also that extra element, I think lots of people kind of forget when they've, you know, just budgeted like crazy and focused on paying down their debt is earning more, which could just be, you know, how do you make more at your current job? How do you make more money on the side? Should you start your own business online, whatever it is, I've got a lot of guests that are going to talk to me about earning and I know you are going to just love it. So make sure to check back here September 27th, Wednesday. That will be when the next season of the show kicks off. All right. Some other really cool things that I want to tell
Starting point is 00:01:35 you about. Oh, let's let's start with something else that's going to happen on Wednesday, September 27th. In case you're not on my email list, which I highly recommend you do, jessicamarouse.com slash subscribe, you would know that I am currently running a personal finance book club. I started it in the summer because I just really wanted to have a fun way to read books with all of my favorite people who love personal finance and like to nerd out just as much as I do. So we did one back in the summer with Erin Lowry, who was actually on the show. She is the author of Broke Millennial. And it was super fun. It all goes down in my private Facebook group called the Money Life Balance Community. So make sure to pop in there if you're not already in there. But we are doing our second
Starting point is 00:02:19 book club Wednesday, September 27 at 7pm Eastern Time in my Facebook group. And we are reading one of my favorite personal finance books, Millionaire Teacher by Andrew Hallam. Again, he was also on the show. So I definitely recommend you checking out that episode if you haven't already. And also check out the book because it is fabulous. I don't know how he did it, but he literally made a page turner of a book that just focuses on the importance of investing and how to get started with uh investing in terms of you know index funds and ETFs and doing it DIY style and all that kind of stuff so if you're interested in joining us in the book club make sure to pop into the Facebook group but also go to jessicamorehouse.com book
Starting point is 00:03:03 club uh there will be a lot more information on that page about what is going down in book club town. Another thing that you may want to know, especially all of my Vancouverite friends, if you live in Vancouver, BC, I am actually doing an event very soon that you will want to attend. Monday, September 18th at 6.30 p.m. I'm doing my Millennial Money Meetup for the first time in Vancouver. I've done two of them in Toronto. Super excited to go in my hometown of Vancouver to do another one. So if you want to come, because I really hope you do, I would love to meet you. I love meeting people who listen to me on the show and meeting them in person. It's
Starting point is 00:03:40 super fun. So just go to millennialmoneymeetup.com. That is where you can find all the information and you can register and get your tickets before they are all sold out, which I expect is very soon. So make sure to do that millennialmoneymeetup.com. Okay, one last thing before I let you go. So you may have heard me talk to you about the Rich and Fit Bootcamp, this e-course that's all about fitness and finance, putting your finances and fitness together and having a good old time. I paired together with my friend, business partner, Jacqueline Phillips. She is awesome to create this Rich and Fit Bootcamp.
Starting point is 00:04:17 And we launched for the very first time in June. And it was awesome. We had a great group of students that we, you know, had a fun time with for seven weeks focused on conquering your, you know, finance struggles, getting you fit. I obviously had to do the program cause I'm not just, you know, the person who made the course, I'm a member. So I did all the workouts and damn, I have abs and that's's exciting because they're always kind of hidden in like a layer of fat. So that's kind of exciting. But we closed it. Kind of we just wanted to have a few students, a kind of exclusive group of students for our first launch. But we want to open it up again to a new group of students.
Starting point is 00:04:58 So we will be launching the Rich and Fit Bootcamp very soon. The course, I believe believe will start either the end of September or early October, but in any, in any case, we will be, um, kind of opening up registration very soon. So again, get on my email list to find out first, Jessica morose.com slash subscribe. Uh, you can also sign up to get updates on that at rich and fit bootcamp.com. But basically, if you are interested in fixing your money situation, and also finally, you know, getting into a workout routine that you'll actually stick to and that actually works. And we also have, you know, meal plans and a community and it's super, super awesome. Make sure to go to rich and fit bootcamp.com for everything about that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:44 That is really all I have to say at this moment. But I'll see you back here in just a few short weeks, really, to kick off the next season of the MoMoney podcast. A big thank you to everyone who throughout the summer have been leaving me iTunes reviews, super nice, or emails. Oh my gosh, some of the emails I get are the nicest. Thank you so much. So, you know, if you're listening right now, haven't done so, you want to let me know what
Starting point is 00:06:08 you think, shoot me an email, tweet at me. I love that. Or give me an iTunes review. I would love that. And of course, I will try to return the favor in, you know, responding to your tweet, emailing you back or giving you a personal shout out of your iTunes review on a future episode. So thank you so much for listening. I will see you back here very soon.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Okay. Okay. Bye. This podcast is distributed by the Women in Media Podcast Network. Find out more at womeninmedia.network.
