I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley.
It's Monday, August 26th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
Former President Trump honored the 13 service members who were killed during the withdrawal from Afghanistan three years ago today.
The anniversary comes amid revelations about the Biden administration's response during the disastrous withdrawal.
Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has the latest.
Trump took part in a private reethling sermon.
in Arlington Cemetery. Meanwhile, President Biden spent the week at his Rehoboth Beach home,
while neither he nor Vice President Harris have any public events scheduled. Today's anniversary
comes as newly released emails, show top Biden administration officials discussing the chaos
just days before those 13 troops were killed in a terrorist attack at Kabul Airport.
One email detailed security breaches and risks on the ground and spoke about U.S. forces being overwhelmed.
Critics say the emails expose serious failures in the administration's response.
Following the event in Arlington, Trump was joined on stage by former Democratic presidential candidate and Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who formally endorsed him.
I am confident that his first task will be to do the work to walk us back from the brink of war.
We cannot be prosperous unless we are at peace.
And we can't live free as long as we have a government that is retaliating against its political opponents and undermining our civil liberties weapon.
our very institutions against those they deem as a threat.
Kamala Harris has done this over the last three and a half years.
She won't hesitate to continue that if she is elected as president.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has officially lost his secret service protection just days after
withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race and endorsing Trump.
Daily Wire Deputy Managing editor Tim Rice has the latest.
Kennedy initially struggled to secure protection, but was granted.
it after the July assassination attempt on Trump.
On Friday, Kennedy exited the race and endorsed Trump, pushing for a unity government.
He says Trump will pursue key issues like ending the war in Ukraine and combating censorship.
According to several polls, Kennedy supporters are now shifting towards Trump in key swing states,
though experts still aren't certain of the exact numbers.
As pollster Frank Luntz tells News Nation, the reason Kennedy originally performed so well
was because he was viewed as the Biden alternative.
Joe Biden's gone.
Kamala Harris has replaced him and his vote collapsed down to about four or five percent.
And what's left is a Trump vote.
Some of them are simply not going to participate in November.
Roughly two to one, the ones who are remaining will vote for Trump over Harris.
And that's worth a single percent.
And a single percent can make the difference in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Trump has been blasting ABC News, which is set to host his debate with Vice President.
Kamala Harris. This comes after the network held what Trump called a biased interview with
Senator Tom Cotton. Here's one of the most contentious moments from the interview.
She said when she ran for president that she wants to eliminate private health insurance on the job
170 million Americans, John. Yeah, I mean, I mean, that is not her position now.
How do you know this not her position? I mean, she says she knows what supports Medicare for all.
She has not said that. She has not said that. I mean, she, she, she, as you heard me go through with Bernie
Sanders. She is not taking the positions of the far left of her party. She's clearly making an effort
to move to the middle. I did hear what you said to Senator Sanders. And I thought it was clear that he's
very disappointed that she's taking these efforts, not to change her positions, but to hide her
positions, John. In a truth social post, Trump accused the network of hosting anti-Trump panels and
raised suspicions about Harris choosing ABC to host the debate. A pedophile serving 350-year
for abducting and molesting a five-year-old girl may soon be released under California law.
Under the Golden State's elderly parole program, 69-year-old Charles William Mix is currently eligible
for release despite his horrific crimes. The victim's family is pleading for him to remain behind
bars calling the potential release and injustice. Mix's parole hearing is set for September 25th.
And two astronauts who thought they were going to space for just over a week, now,
won't return home until 2025. NASA announced that Boeing's troubled Starliner spacecraft will
return to Earth uncrewed after helium leaks and thruster issues were found. Astronauts,
Butch Wilmore and Sunni Williams, who were launched aboard the Starliner in June, will now
return via a SpaceX mission in February. Here's NASA administrator Bill Nelson discussing the
decision. Space flight is risky, even at its safest and even at its most routine.
and a test flight by nature is neither safe nor routine.
And so the decision to keep Butch and Sunny aboard the International Space Station
and bring the Boeing Starliner home uncrewed is a result of a commitment to safety.
