Hasmalah, Hezbollah,
but not as Zionists now.
Chaotic scenes in D.C.
As anti-Israel protesters
converge outside the White House,
we discuss Israel's successful
rescue of several hostages
and the Biden administration's
highly scrutinized response.
I'm Daily Wire, editor-in-chief John Bickley.
It's Monday, June 10th, and this is Morning Wire.
Dueling reports show two very different
outlooks on the U.S. job market.
As soon as you delve a little bit deeper then,
the headline numbers in this report, you begin to notice discrepancies.
And an influential group of health care professionals demands an end to transgender medical
interventions on young people.
Gender affirming health care has neither been shown to be safe, nor effective, nor of more help
than harm.
Thanks for waking up with Morning Wire.
Stay tuned.

Thousands of pro-Palestinian and even pro-Hamas protesters descended on Washington, D.C.
the weekend. Demonstrators took over parks, sidewalks, and streets that surrounded the White
House to protest U.S. support for Israel. Meanwhile, Israel recovered several hostages in a daring
rescue operation. Here with the latest on all this is Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce. Hey Tim.
So first, what took place at the White House over the weekend? Well, things got very chaotic.
Leftwing groups organized a mass protest against USA to Israel. And many of the pro-Palestinian crowd
appeared to be avid supporters of Hamas, which, of course, is the terror group responsible for the mass
murder and rape of hundreds of people on October 7th.
Video of the protests went viral, including one showing a demonstrator wearing a Hamas headband
and holding up what looked like a bloody face mask of President Biden.
Elsewhere, a group of protesters held up a banner with a popular terror slogan,
jihad of victory or martyrdom, and attributed it to the military wing of Hamas.
And there were other signs, I can't repeat them here because of their strong language,
that essentially said stand with Hamas.
So again, open support of the terrorist group.
Yeah.
How unruly was this protest?
Things clearly got out of control.
Protesters defaced the statue of General Rochambe, a revolutionary war hero in Lafayette
Park with messages such as Death to America, Intifada Revolution, and militancy is key.
At one point, a U.S. Park Ranger who stood by the statue to protect it was taunted by a crowd of protesters
and was even pelted a few times by water bottles and other items.
Here's what that sounded like.
President Biden was out of town in France at the time of the protest,
but Vice President Harris was in the country,
and she was protested at a Michigan Democratic Party event.
Here's some of that.
For the past eight months, President Biden and I
have been working every day to bring this conflict.
I'm speaking right now,
and I value and respect your voice, but I'm speaking right now.
So this looks like a clear and coordinated escalation.
Yeah, it seems fair to say that.
Let's move on to Israel and a successful raid to save a group of hostages over the weekend.
What happened there?
Right. The Israeli military pulled off a risky raid and were able to rescue four hostages from Hamas.
But while it was a huge victory for all of Israel and, of course, the rescued hostages,
the Biden administration gave a mixed response to it.
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan went on CNN on Sunday to downplay the raid success and push for an
into the war. We do know this, Dana. Innocent people were tragically killed in this operation.
The exact number we don't know, but innocent people were killed, and that is heartbreaking,
that is tragic. But there is only one answer to stop that from happening going forward. And that
is a ceasefire and hostage deal that ends the military operations, brings the hostages home,
and puts us in a position to give the Palestinians an opportunity for a better future for their
people. As we've reported before, statisticians have cast out on casualty figures from Hamas. So how many people
died in the operation and who exactly they were is hard to tell at this point. Right. Now, final question,
Israel's war cabinet appears to be breaking up to some degree. What can you tell us about that?
Yeah, Benny Gauntz has resigned from the war cabinet. Gantz is the opposition leader against
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his participation in the war cabinet was symbolic of a unified Israel
in the war against Hamas. But he left the cabinet on.
Sunday, claiming the Prime Minister has mismanaged the war effort by placing his political survival
over victory against Hamas. Netanyahu, meanwhile, has remained committed in his message to end
Hamas whatever it takes. President Biden's handling of this situation under ever more intense scrutiny.

While the payroll survey shows jobs exceeding expectations implying a red-hot labor market last
month, another report suggests that's only smoke and mirrors. Here with more,
Morris Daily Wire senior editor, Cabot Phillips.
Hey, Kavitt, so much is being made of these highly publicized numbers.
What can you tell us here?
So on its face, this weekend's jobs report looks like cause for celebration.
It showed the U.S. economy adding 272,000 jobs last month.
That's well above the 192,000 economists had projected.
At the same time, it shows average hourly earnings exceeding expectations rising at 4.1%.
Now, President Biden touted those numbers as proof of what he called the Great American
come back, while this National Economic Council Director had this to say on CNBC.
The economy continues on a strong but stable course.
And so generally speaking, good news.
But there are still plenty of folks who say the deeper you dig into these numbers, the more
concerning they get.
You know, walk us through some of those concerns.
Well, first, it's helpful to understand where these numbers come from.
The Labor Department uses two separate surveys to track wages and employment.
the household survey and the establishment, also called the payroll survey.
The latter is more popular with the White House because it shows the economy adding those 272,000 jobs last month.
However, it counts the same person multiple times if they're picking up part-time jobs elsewhere,
which obviously can inflate the actual number of Americans finding work.
Yeah.
The household survey only counts the same worker once and delineates between full and part-time work.
And that report showed some very concerning numbers.
found that last month, the number of part-time workers rose by 286,000, while the number of full-time
workers actually fell by roughly 625,000. That is the largest monthly drop in full-time workers
since December of 2023. And it also helps explain why, despite that supposedly strong jobs report,
the unemployment rate rose last month above 4% for the first time since 2022. And then there
are other concerns over who exactly is finding work these days. Now, this aspect has gotten a lot of
attention, especially with the ongoing border crisis. What's going on there? Yeah, a consistent
trend we've seen in these monthly reports is that most new jobs are simply going to workers born
outside of the U.S. Last month, for example, Native-born Americans lost 663,000 jobs, while foreign-born
workers gained 414,000. And that is hardly an outlier. Since President Biden took office,
quite literally, all of the job growth in our economy has come from foreign-born workers. That is not
hyperbole. At the end of 2020, there were roughly 130.4 million jobs held by Native-born Americans.
Today, that number is, again, still roughly 130.4 million. So a zero percent increase for
Native-born Americans. Right. No increase. But over the same time frame, foreign-born workers,
many of whom are living here illegally, have added roughly 3.8 million jobs. That is a 14% increase.
A number of Republican lawmakers and pro-Trump super PACs expressed concern at those numbers,
saying the Biden economy was really only benefiting illegal immigrants, but not American citizens.
And that drew outrage from the White House. A Biden spokesperson disparaged those raising concerns about
the trend, saying they are like, quote, racist, nativist politicians of the 1800s who vilified
immigrants and divided Americans to gain power. All right. So zooming out here, what does this all
mean for the broader economy, especially those interest rates we've been watching so closely?
Well, the Fed is getting together for a highly anticipated meeting this week, where they
will release their first formal interest rate forecast since March.
But don't get your hopes up.
The general expectation is that they will continue to hold off on rate cuts
until we see more proof inflation is cooling and unemployment is rising.
Remember, historically, they refrain from tinkering with rates in the month or two before
an election.
So the latest inflation report does drop this Wednesday.
You can bet the White House will again be hoping for good news that ultimately would
encourage the Fed to take action before time runs out and Election Day arrives.
Yeah, clock is ticking.
Kappa, thanks for reporting.
out. A large number of healthcare professionals and groups have signed on to a declaration
calling on major medical organizations to halt dangerous transgender medical interventions for
children. Daily Wire investigative reporter Moretale Lorty is here with the details. Hey, Marade.
So tell us about this statement from these doctors. Hi, John. Of course. So more than 100 doctors,
nurses, psychotherapists, scientists, researchers, and health care groups have signed onto this
declaration, it's called the Doctors Protecting Children Declaration. The declaration calls on major
medical organizations to halt transgender medical interventions for children like puberty blockers,
cross-sex hormones, and breast and genital surgeries. The declaration was authored by the American
College of Pediatricians and announced at a press conference in Washington, D.C. late last week.
They say they're defying the idea that there is a medical consensus on these treatments as good,
and they cite a lot of evidence to back that up. Why do the doctors say they disagree with this
prevalent view on transgender medicalization for children.
Sure. So the group said in their declaration that they have serious concerns about the
current protocols promoted for the care of children and adolescents in the U.S. who expressed
discomfort with their biological sex. Here's Dr. Andre Van Moll of the American College of Pediatricians
at the press conference announcing the declaration. Physicians take an oath to do no harm,
and gender affirming health care is documented to lead to harm. There are good mental health
alternatives to gender-affirming health care, which address underlying issues rather than dodging
them. Finally, there is always a more honest way to deal with gender confusion than the chemical
sterilization and surgical mutilation of healthy young bodies. The group said that evidence-based
medical research now demonstrate there is little to no benefit from either surgeries,
hormone treatments, or even social transition for children. They said these things do not appear
to improve the long-term mental health of the adolescents, including suicide risk.
One issue is the lack of long-term follow-up studies on children who have undergone these treatments.
Another issue they said it is the immature, often impulsive nature of the adolescent brain.
The health care providers wrote, quote,
most children and adolescents whose thoughts and feelings do not align with their biological sex will see those feelings resolve after puberty.
Right. We've reported on studies that show that.
Do these doctors and health groups offer an alternative approach?
Yes, they say psychotherapy for underlying mental conditions like autism, depression, anxiety, and trauma should be the first line of treatment for children experiencing discomfort with their biological sex.
The group takes particular issue with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, saying its guidelines are demonstrably flawed, yet many gender clinics follow them.
The group noted that other countries including England, Scotland, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland have all pumped the brakes on transgender medical interventions for children, while the U.S. still widely promotes these dangerous treatments, despite evidence that they are not only unhelpful, but actually harmful.
The group specifically calls out the major American medical organizations and demand they immediately stop promoting these treatments.
Here's Dr. Jill Simons, a pediatrician and the Executive Director for the American College of Pediatricians.
So we are calling on these medical organizations of the United States, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Endocrine Society, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to follow the science and their European colleagues and immediately stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biologians.
sex. By the way, some of the health care organizations that signed on to the Declaration
include the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, the Association of American Physicians,
the Catholic Medical Association, Gen Speck, and the National Association of Catholic Nurses.
Well, we've already seen this slowdown on transgender procedures on children in Europe,
as you noted. We'll see if there's more momentum here in the U.S.
Maraite, thanks for reporting.
Thanks, John.
Another story we're tracking this week, European Union parliamentary elections,
saw major gains Sunday from right-leaning populist groups, including in both Germany and France.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he's dissolving the National Assembly and calling a snap
parliamentary election. The move came after his party suffered crushing losses to the right-wing
National Party Sunday. Thanks for waking up with us. We'll be back this afternoon with more news you need to know.
