A Kamala Harris campaign after party in Manhattan turned into chaos last night as anti-Israel protests spilled into a Harlem restaurant hosting the event. Protesters broke through barricades on the street and even set off smoke bombs, leading to significant disorder. The NYPD responded swiftly, making multiple arrests. Vice President Harris is facing backlash after announcing plans for the first federal ban on corporate price gouging in the food and grocery industries. Daily Wire's senior editor Cabot Phillips has more. The Harris campaign said the controversial plan would, quote, set clear rules of the road to make clear that big corporations can't unfairly exploit consumers to run up excessive corporate profits on food and groceries.
Starting point is 00:01:04 However, critics have likened the plan to Soviet-style price controls, which led to shortages. and argue it ignores the true causes of inflation. Economists on both sides of the aisle have warned the plan could lead to scarcity and higher food costs. Morning Wire spoke to former investment banker and bestselling author Carol Roth, who argued the plan is part of Kamala Harris' effort to distance herself from rising costs under the Biden-Harris administration. He's trying to say, no, it's not us.
Starting point is 00:01:30 It's not the government running $2 trillion deficit. It's not the spending that we're doing. it really is companies being greeting. And when you have an industry like the food service industry, particularly grocery stores, they operate on a one to three percent profit margin. And somehow she's blaming them for inflation, which is silly. Donald Trump is seeking to delay his sentencing in the hush money case until after the election. The attack, which caused Germany's most serious energy disruptions since World War II, severely damaged three of the four pipelines transporting gas from Russia to Germany. A German warrant was issued in June for Zoravlev's arrest. The Taliban marked the third anniversary of the Biden administration's botched withdrawal from Afghanistan by parading around all of the weapons and vehicles the U.S. left behind. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce is here with the latest. The parade took place at Bogram Airfield, which was once the center of U.S. operations in Afghanistan. Uniform Taliban soldiers marched with machine guns while trucks and motorcycles carrying the Taliban flag filled Kabul's
Starting point is 00:03:27 streets in celebration. Taliban leaders praised their role, claiming they brought peace and security under Islamic law. Critics say the display highlighted U.S. failure as American supplied arms bolster the Taliban's grip on the country. Retired Lieutenant General Keith Kemp Kellogg told Fox News that many people still need to be held accountable. Primarily it falls on Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because they walked away from the Doha agreement. That was the agreement that President Trump put in place. Because remember, Kamala Harris said she was the last person in the room when the Afghan decision was made by Biden. She owns it.
Starting point is 00:04:01 But we had it in place and the embarrassment you see today is them parading around with the equipment we left behind. The Justice Department is defending its plea deal with. Boeing over two deadly plane crashes. The DOJ argues that there's insufficient evidence to pursue more serious charges. Boeing agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud for deceiving regulators about the 737 max and will pay a $243 million fine. Families of victims in the 2018 and 2019 crashes want the deal rejected, calling the punishment too lenient. U.S. District Judge Reid O'Connor could still accept or reject the agreement, which may lead to further negotiations. And the VP picks are set to take the debate stage on October 1st, just as early voting begins in
