Starting point is 00:00:02 I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley. It's Friday, November 10th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update. Hundreds of anti-Israel protesters took over Bryant Park in New York on Thursday, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza. Dozens of the protesters then took over the lobby of the New York Times office building in Manhattan. They claim the media is biased against Palestinians and is promoting genocide. An NYPD vehicle was also vandalized by the protesters who spray-painted the letters ID. and KKK and free Gaza on the patrol car. No arrests were made. A jury found Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital liable for damages up to $220 million in the medical malpractice case of Maya Kowalski this week.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Kowalski, now 17 years old, was separated from her family for three months by health workers and child protective services contractors who accused her mother of fabricating Maya's condition. The stress of the separation, which included severely restricted visits, and communication with the family, ultimately drove Maya's mother to suicide, the jury concluded. The case is seen as a win for parental rights. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg traveled to Ukraine this week to meet with President Zelensky. According to the Department of Transportation, the secretary was there to support, quote, investments in transportation infrastructure, which are funded by U.S. aid to Ukraine.
Starting point is 00:01:35 The trip comes as watchdog group Americans for Public Trust reported that Buttigieg has flown on private jets at taxpayer expense. 18 times since 2022. In response, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor-Green introduced an amendment to reduce the Secretary's salary to $1 per year. While implementing his tyrannical climate agenda through his office and preaching for the government to curb carbon emissions, Pete Buttigieg has reportedly taken at least 18 taxpayer-funded flights on private jets managed by the FAA. The next GOP presidential debate will be hosted by former,
Starting point is 00:02:12 Fox host Megan Kelly and will air on fledgling network News Nation. The debate will happen on December 6th in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Kelly will be joined by former NBC host Elizabeth Vargas in Washington Free Beacon Editor-in-Chief Eliana Johnson. Kelly said, quote, it will be the margarita of debates, spicy fun, and somewhat intoxicating. We'll be watching.
Starting point is 00:02:34 The defense attorney for the man accused of assaulting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband with a hammer says he was driven by conspiracies when he broke into the Pelosi's San Francisco residents last year. During the Thursday trial, the attorney for David DePap didn't dispute that her client attacked Paul Pelosi as the encounter was caught on camera.
Starting point is 00:02:52 She instead argued that DePap believed that he was taking action to stop corruption and the abuse of children by politicians and actors. The first human eye transplant has been completed and looks to be a success. 46-year-old veteran Aaron James of Hot Springs, Arkansas, lost his eye in a work-related high-voltage power accident.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Six months ago, surgeons at NYU's Langone Hospital performed the transplant. While James does not have vision in the transplanted eye, doctors say the retina and blood vessels appear healthy.
