A New York jury has found Marine veteran Daniel Penny not guilty in the death of Jordan Neely.
The decision prompted strong celebration from Penny's supporters, but also
protests from left-wing activists that erupted outside after the verdict was announced.
Daily Wire reporter Amanda Prestizakamo has more. Penny had originally faced a second-degree manslaughter
charge which carried a 15-year prison sentence. However, the judge agreed to dismiss that charge on
Friday at the prosecution's request. The jury on Monday rendered a not-guilty verdict on the remaining
charge of criminally negligent homicide. Elvin Bragg's office controversially charged Penny last year after
the then 25-year-old restrained Jordan Neely on the subway.
Neely, a troubled man with a history of mental health issues and a lengthy rap sheet,
had a pulse when authorities arrived unseen, but later died.
Lawyers representing Penny said that their client acted to protect others from Neely,
who was threatening subway riders and had a history of violent behavior.

assaulted her at a train station. The incident occurred on June 29th when the man allegedly grabbed her

Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips has the details.
26-year-old Luigi Mangione was arrested Monday in Altoona, Pennsylvania, about 275 miles outside New York City.
Police say Mangione was carrying a similar gun to the one used by the assassin, along with the silencer, U.S. passport, and four fake IDs, including one that was used to check into a New York City hostel the night before the shooting.
Mangioni was also in possession of a handwritten manifesto that criticized health care companies.
The arrest came after local police received a tip from a McDonald's worker who recognized Mangione from surveillance photos released by authorities.
The suspect graduated valedictorian from one of the nation's top private high schools and went on to attend UPenn.
The exact motive for the crime has not yet been released.
Rapper Jay-Z has responded to allegations that he raped a 13-year-old girl along with Sean Diddy Combs in 2000.
Daily Wire reporter Megan Basham has the latest.
He called the allegation heinous and a black woman.
male attempt. In refuting the accusation, Jay-Z challenged attorney Tony Busby to file a criminal
complaint if the allegations were true and later filed a motion for the rape accuser's identity to be
revealed. Now, the lawsuit initially filed against Combs was amended to include Jay-Z as a defendant.
The alleged victim, identified as Jane Doe, claimed she was taken to a house where she was
drugged and then assaulted by both men. The lawsuit also alleged.
alleges that Combs, who is facing separate charges of racketeering and sex trafficking,
watched the assault.
Here's what former FBI special agent Jennifer Coffendaffer told News Nation about the case.
There are so many details.
You know, they describe a house, a driveway, another woman being there.
They discuss about a driver taking her.
So she's locked into this story now, and that means there could be additional witnesses
to corroborate her story or refute the story.
story. It's not unusual when they're still digging up information and facts to prove the allegations
that they're trying to make. In addition, remember, this 13-year-old says there's a female there.
That has not been disclosed either. That will be very interesting because she could be culpable in this as well.

President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law, Lara, is stepping down as co-chair of the Republican National Committee.
She made the announcement in a post on X, in which she expressed her honor in serving during a pivotal election and announced she would formally resign at the next RNC meeting.
Her departure comes amid speculation that she could be appointed to fill a potential Senate vacancy in Florida.
If Senator Marco Rubio's seat becomes available, she says she would seriously consider the operational.
If that's something that's put in front of me, it would be a true honor.
But yeah, look, I've got a proven track record.
I've been co-chair of the RNC during the most consequential election of our lifetime.
We were so proud of what we did at the RNC, making sure that there was election integrity,
making sure we got the early vote out, making sure we turned out low propensity voters,
and raising huge amounts of money.
So I would say that my track record speaks for itself.
The Food and Drug Administration is expected to review the
safety of controversial food dye Red 3 in response to a growing petition. The dye was banned from
topical drugs and cosmetics in 1990 and is currently banned in Europe, most of Asia and Australia,

And President Trump has used a viral image of him and First Lady Jill Biden to advertise his
new fragrance line. The picture shows the First Lady looking at the President-elect and
seemingly smiling during the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
In a truth social post touting the fragrance,
Trump described the scent as a rallying cry in a bottle,
symbolizing strength and victory.
He also used the tagline,
A fragrance, your enemies can't resist.
