Eric Adams has a change of
part, and could Israel soon strike Iran? I'm Daily Wire, editor-in-chief John Bickley with Georgia Howe.
It's Friday, February 14th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
Journalist Christopher Rufo joined the Ben Shapiro show today to unveil a trove of exclusive footage
and documents that show the Department of Education's troubling use of taxpayer dollars.
As Rufo told Shapiro, part of the department spending has been used to pay millions to
so-called equity assistance centers. These centers advised thousands of schools, but Rufo
explains they've been hijacked by left-wing ideology.
Here's an example of a presentation from one of these centers
legitimizing sex work to minors.
In this meeting presentation,
is understanding the importance of sex work
in the LGBT plus community and in LGBT survival,
because especially for queer and trans people of color,
and most emphatically black trans women,
this often is a means of income,
And by not talking about it and avoiding talking about that, we're actually making that worse
and making it easier for people to be stigmatized who need support.
Rufo stressed that taxpayers are being forced to foot the bill for pushing these kinds of radical
ideas.
So every taxi driver, line cook, and electrician around the country that's working hard to feed
their family is actually chipping in for this idea that we should destigmatize sex work
for children.
It is so outrageous that it's almost hard to believe it's true.
In another example, educators from these sinners suggest it's important to raise awareness about supposed discrimination through adultism.
That's the idea that only adults have the ability to make adult decisions.
Here's some of that.
Where adultism meets homophobia and transphobia is the notion that as a young LGBT person, you are not in charge of yourself.
You are not in charge of your body.
You're not in charge of your medical care.
And by denying or trying to control LGBT young people's ability to express themselves as who they truly are,
this often leads to things like people running away from home.
Shapiro made the point that trying to contend that parents shouldn't parent their own children is a losing argument politically.
This is exactly the sort of issue that lost Terry McCalloff his gubernatorial race in Virginia against Glenn Youngkin,
this sort of anti-parental movement.
And also the bizarre, sick and perverse idea that children are capable of making lifelong,
about important matters.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams is calling for change,
specifically to the city's sanctuary city laws.
Adams is pushing for more police cooperation with ICE and immigration enforcement.
The mayor made the remarks alongside President Trump's border czar Tom Homan on Fox and Friends
this morning.
When Tom and I are in the room, we're both saying one thing.
No matter who you are, if you're hurting innocent people in this city and in this country,
you don't have a right to be in our country.
Adams has also agreed to sign an executive order to open an ICE office on Rikers Island.
Here's Holman on that.
Getting back in Rikers Island is a game changer.
We can get, not only we get the bad guys where they hit the street, the intelligence of how
the TDA operates, where they're operating, all this intelligence that gather at Rikers Island
we'll have access to.
The move being considered would reverse existing laws that only allow ICE collaboration for violent
felonies. While Adams still defends New York City's sanctuary city status, City Hall says
current laws go too far in restricting law enforcement. A federal judge temporarily blocked
Trump's executive order cutting funding to hospitals that provide transgender medical treatments to minors.
The lawsuit brought by trans activist groups argues that withholding funds violates equal protection
rights. The Trump administration contends the orders protect young people from making dangerous,
irreversible medical decisions. A second legal challenge led by several state attorneys general
is set for a hearing Friday. The Department of Health and Human Services spent nearly $23 billion
on migrant aid between 2020 and 2024, according to a watchdog report. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce
has more. The money HHS is alleged of supplying includes cash assistance for cars, homes,
and business startups. The funding was funneled through the Office of Refugee Resettlement and
dramatically increased during the Biden administration. The report follows concerns over
ORR's handling of unaccompanied migrant children, with federal whistleblowers saying many were placed
with unvetted sponsors. The Trump administration has already begun clawing back millions in
migraine aid and cutting funding for sanctuary cities. This episode is brought to you by Jeremy's

shave. Five blades, a superior engineering built for men who still believe in merit, manliness, and
the American dream. Order now at jeremy's raisers.com. Israel could soon make a move against Iran.
Daily Wire Deputy Managing editor Tim Rice has the details. U.S. intelligence reports suggest that the
Jewish state is considering major strikes on Iran's nuclear sites this year. Israeli officials reportedly
believe President Trump is more likely to support the action than his predecessor. The report highlights Iran's
weakened military state, citing economic struggles, the fall of key allies, and recent Israeli
military successes against Hezbollah. The report, however, suggests that Israel would need
bunker-buster bombs to carry out the strikes, something that the United States has. Meanwhile,
Trump's administration continues a maximum pressure campaign against Iran while keeping military
options on the table. House Democrats reintroduced a reparations bill this week as Trump
cracks down on discriminatory DEI policies.
Far left, Democratic Representative Iyanna Presley refiled H.R. 40,
which calls for the study of reparations for slavery and said it was more important than ever
because white supremacy and anti-black racism are allegedly on the rise.
Here was Pennsylvania Democrat Summer Lee and oppressor Wednesday announcing the bill.
Our government, no matter who is in power, has an obligation to write these wrongs,
to provide reparations for descendants of enslaved Africans,
to eliminate the racial wealth gap to uplift the black community.
The bill is considered DOA in the House.
And the Trump Department of Education has revoked the previous administration's guidance
on NIL deals for college athletes.
Crane and Company host David Cohn has more.
This decision from the Trump administration reverses a Biden-era guidance
that required equal distribution of name, image, and likeness funds
between male and female athletes.
This move comes a week after President Trump's executive order
banning transgender athletes from women's sports.
Critics argue the decision undermines gender equity,
while supporters say NIL deals are market-driven
and should in fact be separate from Title IX.
Still, experts expect legal challenges
as female athletes and advocacy groups push back against the policy shift.
