A high-speed chase and shootout with Border Patrol led to a man's death in West Texas. Daily Wire immigration reporter Jenny Tehr has more. The incident began at the Sierra Blanca checkpoint in a remote area in West Texas between El Paso and Van Horn.

War Secretary Pete Heggseth announced this morning that an American submarine had torpedoed an Iranian warship, sending it to the bottom of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Sri Lanka. This was the first time a U.S. sub had sunk an enemy ship with a torpedo since World War II. A U.S. Navy ship also intercepted a missile targeting an airbase in Turkey on Tuesday. Turkish authorities summoned the Iranian ambassador for answers about the apparent strike. Meanwhile, the State Department reports that 17,500 Americans have been safely returned from the Middle East.

Secretary Hegset also announced today that American and Israeli forces would pursue total dominance of Iranian airspace and completely destroy Iran's military capabilities. Meanwhile, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Raisin-Kane, noted the number of ballistic missiles fired by Iran has dropped by 86 percent since the initial strikes. The Pentagon has released the names of four Army Reserve soldiers killed in an Iranian attack in Kuwait over the weekend. Daily Wire Foreign Affairs reporter Cassia Kiva reports. According to the Pentagon, those fallen, including 35-year-old Captain Cody A. Cork, 42-year-old Sergeant First Class Noah L. Tichens, 39-year-old Sergeant First Class Nicole M. Amor, and 20-year-old Sergeant Declan J. Coady.

All four soldiers were supporting Operation Epic Fury. The department is continuing to investigate the incident that occurred in Port Choeba, Kuwait, during an unmanned aircraft system attack. Two other service members were also killed in the attack, but have yet to be identified publicly. White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said President Trump will attend the dignified transfer of the soldier's remains when they return home. Several key primaries were held yesterday that have already shaken up the midterms, especially in Texas. Daily Wire political reporter Cameron Arcand has the breakdown. State Senator James Tullerico defeated Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett in the Democratic Senate primary, winning 53% to 46%, with 83% of the vote in, and will advance to face the eventual Republican nominee and erase the Cook political report rates as likely Republican.

On the GOP side, Attorney General Kim Paxton and Senator John Cornyn failed to clear the 50% threshold, sending their Senate contest to a May 26 runoff after Cornyn led with about 43% to Paxton's 40% while Congressman Wesley Hunt trilled in third. In another major upset four-turred congressman, Dan Crenshaw, lost his Republican primary in Texas' second congressional. District to State Representative Steve Toth, who won 56% to 40.5% with 94% of the vote counted, marking one of the most significant incoming defeats of the cycle and underscoring continued shifts within the Texas GOP. Three police officers who stopped the mass shooting in Austin over the weekend are expected

Injaga John was the lone suspect in the shooting that took place outside of a bar in Austin, Texas early Sunday morning, and although he was wearing a sweatshirt that read property of a law, his exact motives are not yet known. John killed three people and wounded 13 others with what police described as an assault rifle before officer shot and killed him, stopping the rampage. The grand jury review is mandatory for officer-involved shootings, thanks to a George Floyd-era policy the Austin District Attorney implemented in 2021. The officer's legal counsel criticized the secretive Texas grand jury process, arguing that prosecutors control the evidence presented and

are not required to show exculpatory material. Austin Police Association Detective Christopher Irwin told the New York Post that the district attorney routinely brings such cases before a grand jury to determine whether charges are warranted and said that at this time, no charges are pending. This being a growing problem as the conflict in the Middle East intensifies. Daily Wire reporters, Zach Jule, has the details. The Elon Musk-owned social media platform announced on Tuesday that posting AI-generated content depicting war without a disclosure will result in a revenue ban for 9. 90 days, with a second violation resulting in a permanent ban from the program.

This ties directly to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East as pro-I-accounts have been flagged posting AI-generated content. In one case, accounts spread a video that appeared to show the USS Abraham Lincoln being struck by Iranian missiles. U.S. Central Command responded on Sunday saying the video was fraudulent, and that Iranian missiles, which fired, quote, didn't even come close. Nikita Beer, the head of product at X, said, quote, during times of war, it is critical that people have access to authentic information on the ground. With today's AI technologies, it is trivial to create content that can mislead people. OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman are under fire for agreeing to allow the Pentagon to use ChatGPT for classified work.

After initial blowback, OpenAI revised its agreement to forbid the War Department from using its tech for domestic surveillance. At an all-hands meeting Tuesday, Altman defended the agreement, saying the company would have influence over how its technology is used. He said, while this was a complex decision, it was the right one with extremely difficult brand consequences and very negative PR for us in the short term. The House Oversight Committee's Epstein investigation has tapped two members of Trump's cabinet to testify, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik. Bondi is expected to testify on the DOJ's handling of the Epstein case. Lutnik told Axios on Tuesday that he volunteered to speak to the committee,

saying he did nothing wrong and wants to set the record straight. Lutnik lived next door to Epstein in Manhattan and visited Epstein's infamous Caribbean Island in 2012, four years after Epstein pled guilty to soliciting a minor for prostitution. We spoke with veteran and former firearms instructor Justice Fuehler for the details. As a quick note, fully automatic firearms. firearms or machine guns, fire continuously as long as the trigger is held, stopping only when released or when ammunition runs out. While Americans can legally own certain machine guns, federal law bans civilian transfer of those manufactured after May 19th of 1986, sharply limiting the supply. The proposed West Virginia bill would create a state agency to transfer state-owned machine guns,

including those made after 1986, to qualified residents. Buyers would still have to pass the federal background check required for machine gun ownership, but if passed, the bill could test some arguably vague language in federal firearm law. Some state Democrats have voiced opposition to the bill, leaving its fate to lawmakers and potentially the courts. And Starbucks is planning to open a new corporate office right here in Nashville.
