It's Monday, August 31st, and this is Evening Wire. Severe flash floods in Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park have left at least two people dead. National Park authorities say that search crews are looking for some 15 others who are missing. Dozens of people were evacuated over the weekend after half an inch to an inch of rain dropped within an hour in the park's inner canyon. The flash flood also caused serious damage to the Trans Canyon water line that carries water from the canyon for use in the rest of the park. On Monday, the National Park Services said 40% of the waterline was destroyed. Authorities have closed the historic Phantom Ranch Lodge, Bright Angel Campground, and other areas while emergency crews continue to search. Meanwhile, in Nepal and Tibet, the death toll from the devastating flood.

flooding there has climbed past 900, and more than 4,200 people are still missing in Nepal alone, including 85 Americans. Officials say the disaster began in the Himalayas where a glacier and a rock slope collapsed with the force of a magnitude 5.2 earthquake. The resulting wall of mud, ice, and debris traveled about 62 miles down steep valleys, and in some areas, rivers rose 30 feet in half an hour, erasing entire towns and villages in minutes. As rescue crew, are searching for survivors, experts warn that a landslide dammed lake above the Nepal-Tibet border checkpoint could burst and cause a second flood. Immigration authorities busted 95 illegal alien truck drivers earlier this month in one operation

I didn't create that rule. President Trump didn't create that rule.

that rule has been in place for decades. And we have schools that know the rule and still pass people through their school who can't speak the language. We also have shut down 160 additional schools. These are schools that, in essence, certified that they are qualified to train truck drivers. However, they don't have adequate space to put a potential driver in a truck and have them go around the cones and do the turns, and they don't have space to even allow the truck driver to actually get behind the wheel and drive.

Google began displaying Lake America in place of Lake Ontario for U.S. users of Google Maps on Saturday, complying with an executive order signed by Trump last week. Here's report is actual. Under the new display rules, U.S. users see Lake America, Canadian users continue to see Lake Ontario, and users elsewhere see both names, with Lake America appearing in parentheses. and MapQuest said it won't adopt the new name at all, instead rolling out a tool letting users rename the lake to whatever they choose.
