It's Wednesday, August 5th, and this is Evening Wire. More details have come to light about the arrest of an armed man outside of President Trump's Southern California golf course on Sunday. Daily Wire contributor Tim Pierce has the latest. A man was arrested days before President Donald Trump's visit to his Rancho Palace Verde Golf Club after authorities say he repeatedly visited the property, photographed secret service agents during security preparations while wearing an earpiece, and later returned claiming to be a State Department employee assigned to the security detail.

Investigators detained 38-year-old Janine John Taley after discovering ammunition in his pocket and a loaded 9mm gun in his truck, which also contained binoculars and a security-style badge. A subsequent search of his home uncovered an illegally modified AR-style rifle, another pistol, body armor, high-capacity magazines, bulk ammunition, radio signal devices, multiple security credentials, and notebooks containing what investigators described as concerning statements. Taley now faces federal charges for possessing an unregistered short-barreled rifle, along with state charges including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a short-barreled rifle, receiving a large capacity magazine in a separate 2025 robbery case. Officials said they have found no credible threat connected to the president and Trump's fundraiser proceeded as scheduled. Abdul El-Sayed won the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Michigan on Tuesday. El-S.Aid's victory marks a major win for the far-left's attempts to dominate the Democratic Party

over its moderates and establishment. It's also another sign that the parties shift towards socialism is happening outside of deep blue enclaves such as New York City. Here is some of El-Sahed's election night speech leading up to his win. I want you to remind them that if we come through this, when we come through this, inshallah, that will have taken $70 million on the chin and kept fighting back. Inshallah is an Arabic term, meaning if God wills it from the Islamic faith. And as it happened, El-Sayed edged out the more moderate pick Haley Stevens,

despite her support among the Democratic establishment, including Governor Gretchen Whitmer. El-Sahed will face Republican Mike Rogers for the Senate seat in November. And the left in the Democratic Party won another battle on Tuesday in Michigan's 7th Congressional District. William Lawrence beat two Democrat rivals and will take on Republican Congressman Tom Barrett in November. Lawrence ran on issues such as socialized health care, taxing the rich and ending the war in Iran. He also has a background in far-left activism.

He co-founded the Sunrise Movement. That's a youth-centered group that pushed radical policies such as the Green New Deal. It's also described ICE as an occupying army and accused CEOs of murderous business practices. Senate Democrats are boycotting a hearer. today on Muslim Brotherhood networks in the United States. Daily Wire Associate producer, Justice Spueh, has the details. The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee hearing, led by Senator Ted Cruz, follows President Trump's designation of several Muslim Brotherhood branches as terrorist organizations.

In a joint statement, the Democratic senators accused Republicans of scapegoating Muslims, saying that they had, quote, no intention of indulging this political creep show. A spokesperson for Senator Cruz brushed off the walkout saying that the boycott was expected. The hearing will move forward with testimony from counterterrorism and legal policy experts. Hollywood gossip reporter Perez Hilton has been hospitalized following a highly disturbing live stream. Daily Wire reporter Amanda Harding has the story. Perez Hilton rose to massive fame as a gossip journalist in the early 2000s for his provocative and aggressive style. In recent years, Hilton has expressed regrets over his prior behavior and openly talked about his struggles with mental health. Last night, millions online were shocked and horrified to see Hilton, live streaming apparently gruesome self-harm. Authorities quickly responded and Hilton was hospitalized. Some online questioned whether the incident was genuine, but in any case, the video has left millions in shock

An Ohio dad lured his young daughter's suspected rapist into the over using TikTok and then opened fire. The father, Malik Chandler, made a horrific discovery on his 11-year-old daughter's phone, graphic footage allegedly showing a 20-year-old predator, Montoya Gonzalez, sexually assaulting the child inside their Grove City home. The next day, he turned the tables on the predator, luring him back into the home by posing as his daughter through direct messages.

Chandler told investigators that as soon as he opened the door, the suspect reached into his pocket, fearing the man was grabbing a gun and having previously seen him flaunting him, firearm in TikTok videos, Chandler snatched his own handgun off the counter and fired, striking Gonzalez twice. The father willingly surrendered to police and now faces one charge of felonious assault. Gonzalez, who survived the shooting, was also arrested and subsequently indicted on charges, including rape and pandering, sexually oriented material involving a minor. Door cam footage and neighbor testimony showed the 15-year-old unnamed suspect going door-to-door on Monday night in a clown costume carrying a large knife. The suspect leaned into the ring cam at the victim's home and whispered, I've been looking for you before going around to the back of the home and gaining entry. It's unknown whether the victim knew the suspect. The suspect was quickly identified and arrested by police on Tuesday morning. U.S. soccer signed head coach Maricio Pochitino to a four-year contract extension through 20, after he led the U.S. men's national team to its first World Cup knockout stage victory in more than

two decades. Potatino will manage Team USA at the 2030 World Cup and take a broader role in developing the national team pipeline, youth soccer, coaching education, and collaboration with professional leagues. The Argentine coach originally joined the program in September 2024 on a reported $6 million per year deal. And private donations led by Citadel founder Kenneth Griffin and are helping to support the extension. After losing to Belgium in the round of 16, Pochitino will now prepare the team for other upcoming tournaments.
