Starting point is 00:00:32 It's Wednesday, August 27th, and this is evening wide. Two children, age eight and ten, were killed in Minneapolis today after a gunman opened fire at a Catholic school's morning mass. Police say a 23-year-old male opened fire with multiple weapons shooting through church windows before taking his own life. Of the 17 injured, 14 of those are children, two of whom are critically hurt. Minneapolis's mayor called it a deliberate act of violence against children and worshippers. President Trump has ordered flags,
Starting point is 00:01:02 flown at half-masked nationwide to honor the victims. The shooter Robin Westman, who identified as a transgender female, was born Robert Paul Westman and changed his name legally in 2020. President Trump is turning up the heat on billionaire activist George Soros and his son, calling for both to face federal racketeering charges. In a fiery truth social post, Trump accused Soros of bankrolling violent protests and fueling chaos, saying, we're not going to let these lunatics rip apart America anymore. Soros's open society foundations called the claim false, saying they fund democracy and human rights.
Starting point is 00:01:39 It's the latest flashpoint in Trump's push to confront what he calls the radical left machine. Ten FBI whistleblowers have secured settlements from the Justice Department. According to Senate Judiciary Committee Chair, Chuck Grassley, the officials reported waste, fraud, and abuse under the Biden administration. In return, they were, quote, subjected to demoted. motion's security clearance revocation and indefinite unpaid administrative leave. Grassley mediated negotiations between the whistleblowers and the agency.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Here's what he told Miranda Devine on Pod Force One. Some of them just want their national security right back. Clearance, yeah. Some of them want back pay. Yep. Not all of them want their job back. None. But we're going to fight for whatever they want.
Starting point is 00:02:25 I think we're making some progress. The officials in question were all given lump sum payments. None were forced to resign as part of the agreements. The arrest toll in Washington, D.C., crossed a new threshold as the Trump administration's capital crackdown continues. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has more. Authorities in Washington, D.C. have made over 1,000 arrests since President Trump federalized a police force earlier this month. Authorities have also seized over 100 firearms and cleared at dozens of homeless encampments. Many of the arrested are illegal immigrants. Some have been identified. as MS-13 and Trindyaragua gang members. President Trump doubled down on his enforcement efforts
Starting point is 00:03:02 during a Tuesday cabinet meeting. If somebody kills somebody in the Capitol, Washington, D.C., we're going to be seeking the death penalty. The milestone comes as President Trump eyes Chicago to be the next city to receive federal help with law enforcement. DHS says an astounding number of illegal immigrants have been arrested since June, and they say they're just getting started.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Daily Wire reporter Zach Jule has the latest. The milestone arrest was convicted Mexican drug trafficker Gustavo Garcia Miranda, who is nabbed by Border Patrol for illegal re-entry. DHS Secretary Christy Noem said the operation is taking gang members, child predators, and murderers off our streets, and vowed, quote, this is just the beginning. The crackdown comes amid riots, sanctuary city pushback, and a court ruling blocking Trump's bid to cut federal funds to such cities.
Starting point is 00:03:52 But DHS says federal agents and even National Guard troops will keep going. Police body camera footage shows the illegal immigrant truck driver who caused a fatal crash in Florida speaking in broken English. Daily Wire reporter Spencer Lindquist has more. Starting point is 00:04:32 that it is cracking down on New Mexico, California, and Washington, which it says have not been enforcing the new policy. The Trump administration's bid to deport illegal immigrant Kilmar Abrago-Garcia has been blocked again. Judge Paula Zinnis has scheduled a hearing for October 6th, where Trump officials will testify on whether they followed the law when trying to send him to Uganda. The hearing means Abrago Garcia's deportation will be delayed until at least October.
Starting point is 00:04:57 His legal team is pushing asylum claims and challenging the re-deportation. The parents of missing seven-month-old Emmanuel Harrow appeared in court this week, facing charges of murder as the search for human remains continues. Daily Wire reporter Amanda Prestige Giacomo has more. The parents were arrested at their California home last week. Prosecutors say that the couple falsely claimed that their son was abducted during an attack outside of a store on August 14th. Investigators say inconsistencies in the mother's store,
Starting point is 00:05:27 led them to suspect foul play. Despite extensive searches, including along the 60 freeway with cadaver dogs, Emmanuel has not been found. Both parents appeared in Riverside County Court on Tuesday for less than five minutes. Bail was set at $1 million each, and their arraignment continues September 4th. A teen girl in Scotland has been charged for carrying a hatchet.
Starting point is 00:05:50 However, she says the weapon was to protect herself and her sister from men who were harassing and pursuing them. Police in Scotland confirmed that officers, responded to a call Saturday evening in Dundee's low-key area about a youth with a blade. The details are still emerging, but video circulating online that was supposedly posted by a migrant male shows two visibly upset girls warning the men to go away and several adult men nearby. Some social media accounts claim that the teenager pulled the weapon in self-defense after feeling threatened. While those claims have not been confirmed, they've sparked debate about whether the justice system is focusing more on punishing citizens than addressing the behavior.
Starting point is 00:06:29 that makes neighborhoods feel unsafe. Elon Musk is taking aim at Britain's rape gang scandal. In a post on X, Musk says he's willing to fund lawsuits against corrupt officials, who he says covered up crimes linked to child exploitation. The comment came after an inquiry led by former Reform U.K. MP, Rupert Lowe, reported evidence of abuse across 85 local authorities and accused police and counsels of turning a blind eye, sometimes out of fear of being labeled racist. Musk, who has previously criticized officials over the issue, says he wants hard justice delivered for survivors and is ready to back legal action to make it happen.
Starting point is 00:07:07 SpaceX just took to the skies again with the successful launch of its Starship rocket. Daily Wire Senior Editor Joel Needler has the details. The spacecraft launched from South Texas Tuesday night and deployed several dummy Starlink satellites before splashing back down into the Indian Ocean. For Republican Governor Kim Reynolds, the election means that she will need at least one Democratic vote to confirm her nominees to state positions in the final year of her term. After widespread criticism and backlash, Cracker Barrel is bringing back its old logo. In a press statement, the company said, quote, we thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen and we have. Our new logo is going away and our old timer will remain. Even President Trump weighed in on truth social, encouraging the company to take advantage of the, quote, billion dollars of free publicity the fumble created. The company's stock prices
