I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire Executive Editor John Vickley. It's Monday, September 28th, and this is Evening Wire. Five British men arrested near a U.S. airbase in England on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act have been released on bail, but remain under investigation.

Counterterrorism police say the men, all British nationals between 23 and 25 years old were detained near R.A.F. Fairford. The arrest followed reports of three suspicious vehicles heading toward the base, which has supported U.S. operations against Iran. Authorities evacuated roughly 85 households and deployed bomb disposal teams, though no explosives have been reported found yet. Investigators are examining whether the incident involved proxies working for a foreign state, while Iran has denied any connection to the arrest. The U.S. and China have agreed to slash tariffs on $60 billion worth of goods. That's according to a White House announcement on Sunday. The U.S. list of Chinese imports covered 77 goods, including Christmas ornaments, fishing hooks, and car seats.

Beijing's list covers over 1,600 products from frozen reptile meat to pacemakers. Neither list included goods that both sides consider sensitive, such as rare earth materials and components for AI research and development. The agreement came after President Trump hosted Xi Jinping at the White House last week, which was the Chinese president's first time in the U.S. in over a decade. SpaceX took a major step toward commercial flight to space today. Daily Wire contributor Tim Pierce has the latest. Elon Musk and SpaceX sent the company's super-heavy starship on its first flight to orbit on Sunday.

The rocket was sent up on an abridged mission that placed 26 third-generation Starlink satellites into low-earth orbit. And it succeeded in that despite the upper stage of the ship losing one of its six Raptor engines shortly after it separated. The SpaceX flight control team was still able to get the ship up to orbit to release the satellites and then decided to bring the vessel down about three hours after launch. The super heavy landed in the Pacific Ocean just north of Hawaii. Here was a sound from inside SpaceX. Is it the final approach? The mission was a huge success for SpaceX and a big step forward for NASA as well, which hopes to use a variant of the SpaceX Starship for a mission to the moon in 2020. President Trump is set to unveil plans this week for what the White House calls the largest steel plant in U.S. history. Minnesota-based Masabi Metallics plans to spend $15 billion on a new facility in Iowa. It's expected to be finished by 2030 and to turn out more than 7.5 million tons of steel per year. The White House says the project will create nearly 2,000 permanent jobs and will be the first mega steel plant built in the country since the 60s. White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said this move is part of the last.

After months on a White House blacklist, Anthropic CEO Dario Amadeh was invited to a one-on-one dinner with President Trump's Sunday night. Associate producer Garrett Van Team has more. Amade and his company have spent most of the year on bad terms with the president. Anthropics started a public feud with the Pentagon in February over military uses for its technology, but Sunday's meeting between Trump and Amade could signal that relations between the two men are starting to warm.

Trump invited Amade a dinner after the CEO missed a state dinner last week that was attended by the top executives in AI from OpenAI Sam Altman to grok's Elon Musk. Amade has said his industry needs much more government oversight and regulation or it risks the extinction of mankind. But his claims have been met with skepticism from others in the industry. Former South Park writer Toby Morton has launched a website targeting seven Cornell fraternity members accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a student, vowing that accountability is coming. Morton says he's tracking down their workplaces and plans to expose university employees who give them leniency, declaring, quote, I have no limits, no boundaries, nobody to tell me I've gone too far. The university temporarily suspended the men, but allowed them to submit essays to reduce their punishments, according to the victim's civil lawsuit. Prosecutors have reopened the investigation into the alleged 2024 assault, None of the seven men have been criminally charged.

The Education Department has officially reversed Biden-era changes to Title IX. Investigative reporter Meg Brock has the story. The Education Department has formerly rescinded Biden-era Title IX protections for students based on sexual orientation and gender identity, restoring the Trump administration's 2020 rules. Education Secretary Linne McMahon said the department would, quote, relentlessly champion equal opportunity for all Americans, and hold schools accountable for violating women's rights,

privacy, or athletic opportunities. The Biden-era rule had already been struck down in court after challenges from Republican-led states. The Trump administration has also pursued agreements with schools, including the University of Pennsylvania, to remove transgender athletes from women's sports programs, while opponents argue the rollback weakens protections for transgender students and sexual assault survivors. Health officials in Florida have declared a state of emergency over dengue fever, a mosquito-borne illness nicknamed breakbone fever for the severe joint and bone pain that it can cause. The state has reported 190 locally acquired cases and one death across several counties, making it the second

largest outbreak in Florida history. Most U.S. cases involve travelers returning from affected regions, but heavy rainfall and warmer temperatures are helping mosquitoes spread the virus locally. Officials are ramping up mosquito inspections and testing, as experts warn Dengay could become a more regular threat in the U.S. The Atlanta Zoo is now the home of two recently arrived giant pandas from China. The two bears, Ping Ping and Fushwang, arrived in Atlanta on Sunday via a dedicated Boeing Triple Seven dubbed the FedExpress. The pandas will live in Atlanta for at least the next 10 years as part of a cultural exchange

program with China. The arrival coincided with Chinese President Xi's visit to the U.S. for a summit with President Trump. She called the Panda Exchange a sign of the friendship between the United States. the Chinese and Americans. The pandas were welcome to their new environment over the weekend right after clearing immigration customs as well as a thorough search for listening devices.
