One of the biggest battles yet between the press and the president is shaping up in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. CNN, MS Now, and Politico filed suit against President Trump this morning after each outlet was barred from the White House press room. The president said on Friday that journalists for each of the outlets would have their press passes revoked, quote, as a result of their constant reporting fake news. Over the weekend, the outlets accused Trump of violating their First Amendment rights. In the suit, the outlets asked the court for a restraining order to allow. their reporters immediately back in the press room while the court fight plays out. Amid the backlash, Trump stood by his decision on Monday.

He said that while he supports a free press, the, quote, fake news has grown like cancer in our beloved United States of America. The UN is meeting in New York this week to cover a whole host of issues. Here with the details as contributor, Tim Pierce. The UN General Assembly will begin its annual session in New York this week to discuss issues such as conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East and disruptions in the global energy supply. But at the top of that list for the first time is the competition over AI. According to the New York Times,

global leaders intend to push for restrictions on AI development over fears of what the new technology could do. That strategy could run headlong into the White House's current hands-off approach to AI development, which President Trump said is necessary to stay competitive with China. The president is planning to be in New York for the General Assembly and he will kick off his stay with a Monday meeting with Mayor Zoran Mundani.

It is the third time the two. to have met and the second since Momdani became mayor of the president's hometown. Mamdani's office has said the meeting is about issues affecting New York City and New Yorkers. Protesters gathered in Austin on Sunday after immigration officers shot and wounded an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, working as a door dash driver. According to immigration officials, officers were conducting targeted operations in the city when they came across a vehicle registered to Wilbur Rafael Garces Perez, who had a deportation order. Officers questioned Garces Perez before he fled in his car. A bystander later captured video of Garces Perez jumping out of his vehicle under an overpass before several shots ring out.

Whoa. Oh my God. Austin's police chief said in a press conference that the shooting occurred, quote, after a small foot pursuit. The 28-year-old Garcese Perez was hospitalized before being released into ICE custody. Backlash to the Austin shooting has reverberated in D.C. as well, as Democrats call for body cam footage and independent probes into immigration and customs enforcement. Congressman Greg Kossar of Texas sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security demanding ICE retain all video and information on the shooting. He also called for an end to immigration

operations in Austin. And so I think the message remains that for Austin to be safe, ice should and its surge here in our community. Republican Congressman Chip Roy of Texas, pushed back on Khazar, pointing out that Garces Perez was an illegal alien with a deportation order and that mass legal and illegal immigration is a burden on Americans. DHS said in a Monday statement that Homeland Security alongside the FBI would take the lead in investigating the shooting. Protesters are continuing to march through the streets of Suda this week after the Spanish enclave in northern Africa was flooded by an estimated 80,000 illegal aliens all at once in July. Within a few hours, Suda's population effectively doubled.

For weeks, tens of thousands of protesters in Suda and Madrid have called on the Spanish government to quickly deport the illegal aliens. Here's what a protest in Suda on Sunday sounded like. Of the 80,000, 10 to 15,000 are still believed to be left in the city. Now, concerns are spreading in Spain that another massive wave of immigrants could be coming this week. Across social media, calls have echoed for another run on Suda's borders on Wednesday, the same day that Morocco is scheduled to hold elections. Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Maloney, is moving to cap the number of foreign students in the country's classrooms. Daily Wire reporter, Zach Jewell, has the details.

Speaking Sunday at a youth event for her right-wing party, Maloney said her government will propose to limit non-Italian students to 30% of each class, arguing that when they become the majority, quote, that's not integration anymore. That's abandonment. She also announced plans to ban face coverings like the burqa in schools, saying, quote, equality between men and women is non-negotiable. With proposals, we'll head to Parliament following a sign-off from Maloney's cabinet, and the classroom cap would be the first of its kind in Europe, if adopted.

President Trump is expected to meet his counterpart in China, President Xi Jinping later this week. The meeting comes as the two leaders remain at odds over trade, AI, and a host of other issues. Negotiators for both sides reportedly want to secure an extension of a truce reached last year in Korea. Trump relaxed heavy tariffs targeting Beijing in exchange for continued Chinese exports of critical minerals. Trump and Xi are also expected to discuss the future of AI. Top officials from each country met over the weekend to talk about a notification system that would allow either country to alert the other of national security issues around AI. Activists have pointed to Beijing's use of AI to spy on and persecute minorities

as an issue that Trump should bring up and should be part of any agreement on AI use and development. In response to the Lindsay Clancy trial, Massachusetts is initiating a statewide home visit program. Here with more as associate producer, Brooke Morgato. Governor Mara Healy announced the expansion of Massachusetts' current Welcome Family Public Health Program, now to send an experienced maternal and child health nurse to residents' homes to assist with newborn care and screen for mental health issues. The controversial $2 million investment has drawn national attention after the governor's appearance on Boston Public Radio. Here's what she had to say.

Everybody in the state, when you have a baby, you're going to have a home visit. You're going to have a home visit within days, weeks, and that will be an opportunity for a health care provider to make an assessment and to see if you need some additional support and resources. While proponents of the new program are applauding the focus on maternal health, critics are claiming the new measure is a form of government overreach, calling on Massachusetts to stay out of the homes of American families. Cindy Crawford's son, Presley Gerber, died last night in a rehab facility at just 27 years. old. Crawford and businessman Randy Gerber's only son followed in his mother's footsteps, beginning his modeling career as a teenager, eventually working with brands like Calvin Klein and Dolce and Gabana. Presley was open about his struggles with substance abuse and depression, posting about his recovery journey online. As of now, the cause of death has not been released.

The family is asking for privacy at this time. More than 1.9 million people in Japan are being asked to evacuate due to a powerful typhoon. Associate producer Wyatt Harms has more. Rainfall records are breaking across Japan as Typhoon Du Juan wreaks havoc. Du Juan reached typhoon status on Friday and began to subside over the weekend. Now the storm is expected to reach typhoon status again by Tuesday morning. Highest level landslide warnings have been issued for Oshima, which sits nearly 70 miles from Tokyo. Nearly 400 flights have also been canceled due to weather concerns and 50,000 households have lost power. So far, Japan's mainland has avoided a direct hit from the tropical cyclone.

However, the Isou Islands are in the storm's path. And Paramount has reportedly cleared the last major hurdle in its $11 billion bid for Warner Brothers Discovery. The company said in a statement that it had reached a deal with a coalition of states led by California that sued to stop the merger over antitrust concerns. Paramount is reportedly committing to creating a board of journalists to protect editorial independence at CNN and CBS News, releasing 30 films in theaters each year, and putting an extra one-point-a-one-one-reported. $1.5 billion toward movie production over the next five years. The deal still must be approved by courts if it goes through. And in the meantime, Paramount will owe Warner Brothers shareholders
