Over 150 House Republicans are calling on President Biden to reject California's new radical green car regulations as the state looks to electrify its citizens' fleet. California's new regulations requires car sellers to phase out gas-powered engines. Republican Representative Lee Zeldon is polling less than two points behind incumbent Democrat Governor Kathy Hokel, according to a new poll by Trafalgar Group. Hocal is the unelected governor who replaced Andrew Cuomo after his resignation. Kevin Spacey was in court Thursday to defend himself in a lawsuit filed by Anthony Rapp, the actor who in 2017 made the first in a string of sexual misconduct allegations against Spacey. The federal trial is expected to last less than two weeks.
Starting point is 00:01:26 The House Committee investigating the events of January 6 announced this week that its next hearing will be held on October 13th. The panel postponed a hearing scheduled last week due to Hurricane Ian nearing Florida. Hollywood producer Eric Weinberg was charged with 18 felony counts of sexual assault, including rape this week. The writer for the hit show Scrubs is accused of luring women to photo shoots and then assaulting them. He was released on $5 million bond. A growing share of car buyers are signing up for monthly loan payments of $1,000 or more amid rising interest rates and elevated auto prices. new research shows. Overall, around 14% of consumers who financed a new vehicle in the third quarter committed to payments at or above that amount, up from 8% during the same period in 2021.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott's busing program released a bus of migrants who say they're from Venezuela near the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.
