Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley. It's Monday, September 9th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update. A scathing report from the House Foreign Affairs Committee slams President Biden's handling of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, accusing him of prioritizing politics over national security. Meanwhile, Democrats on the committee call the report politically motivated. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has more. The 350-page document accuses President Biden. of ignoring advice for military officials, U.S. allies, and the Afghan government in his determination to end the 20-year war.
Starting point is 00:00:39 The report says the Biden administration misled the public about the Taliban's compliance with the Doha agreement while disregarding key details of the accord. Democrats in response put out their own report. Congressman Gregory Meeks argued that the GOP report is politically motivated coming out days before a presidential debate and that it ignored former President Trump's role in starting the withdrawal process. Committee Chairman Michael McCall said his report would have been out sooner if his investigation had not been obstructed. Here he is on Face the Nation. I've had to serve subpoena after subpoena, moved to compel, threatened to hold the secretary in contempt to get information like after action reports, all these documents, testimonies that we finally got to. Starting point is 00:01:23 Because of the foreign policy is at stake. What happened after Afghanistan impacted the war. because Putin responded by invading Ukraine two months after Afghanistan fell. Chairman Xi, Putin made an unholy alliance in Beijing, threatening the Pacific now, and then the Ayatollah reared his ugly head. The DOJ and a coalition of states are facing off against Google in another antitrust battle, this time over its advertising technology. Daily Wire Culture Reporter Megan Basham has the latest.
Starting point is 00:01:58 The plaintiffs argue that Google controls. controls a monopoly in online advertising, harming publishers, and stifling competition. Google, however, says the case ignores the modern ad market and could have unintended consequences. Now, this trial, which begins today, is expected to last several weeks and could result in significant penalties, including the potential breakup of Google's ad tech business. The suit comes on the heels of a judge ruling that Google's search engine is an illegal monopoly. An illegal immigrant accused of abducting a teenage girl is now behind bars in Virginia. Manassas City Police arrested Jesus Enrique Ramirez Cabrera in connection with the abduction
Starting point is 00:02:41 and for posing as a police officer and leaving the victim in distress. Police say they took Cabrera into custody last week after executing a search warrant at a Manassas residence. The 23-year-old from Peru is currently being held without bond. New concerns are emerging over popular weight loss drugs like, OZempec and Wagovi. According to the FDA's adverse event reporting system, over the past six years, weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Wagovi have been linked to 162 deaths in the U.S. While the deaths haven't been definitively tied to the drugs, they were cited as factors.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Reports of serious reactions, including hospitalizations, have surged as these drugs gained popularity. Despite the risks, millions of Americans continue using these medications for weight loss. The man hunt for a Kentucky man who allegedly shot and wounded five people has stretched into its third day. Police are on the lookout for 32-year-old Joseph Couch. Officers are scouring a rugged area in southeastern Kentucky using machetes to cut through the thick terrain. Schools in the area have canceled classes as the search continues. Police are warning residents that Couch, a former National Guard member, is armed and dangerous. Stay home.
Starting point is 00:03:54 Let the first responders do their job. And also don't take the things into your own hands. We have trained professionals from the sheriff's office, city police, state police, FBI. All the agencies involved, these guys are trained. Let them deal with it. Kate Middleton released a video today announcing she has completed chemotherapy. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant.

Kate went on to express her gratitude for the support she's received and shared the new perspective on life cancer has given her. She also announced that she does plan to return to royal duties. So let that light shine light. And in a dramatic moment over the weekend, New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu saved a man who was choking.
Starting point is 00:05:01 The governor performed the Heinlech maneuver on a contest participating in a lobster roll eating contest at the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival. The man had signaled for help after struggling to swallow. Sununu who was watching nearby rushed over and successfully dislodged the food with abdominal thrusts. Here's the governor. I started saying, he's joking, he's joking, and I could tell people weren't responding. So I just moved forward and immediately started to kind of jump the he'm like, he went right back to the contest, which I couldn't believe he ate another seven lobster after that, right down the gullet.
