I'm Daily Wire, Editor-in-Chief John Bickley with Georgia Howe.
It's Tuesday, July 25th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy doubled down on Tuesday, saying that the Republican-controlled chamber
is moving closer toward an impeachment inquiry against President Biden.
The speaker says the inquiry would surround allegations that the president accepted millions of
dollars in bribes from foreign countries.
McCarthy made his first comments on Monday night.
I believe we will follow this all the way to the end, and this is going to rise to an impeachment inquiry, the way the Constitution tells us to do this, and we have to get the answers to these questions.
McCarthy's remarks come after Senator Chuck Grassley released an FBI-generated form last week, in which a confidential source told the FBI that Burisma co-founder and CEO Mikola Zelchewski claimed that he was coerced by the Bidens into paying millions of dollars in bribes.
In exchange, the then-Vice president pressured Ukraine to fire a prosecutor who is investigating Burisma.
The art gallery where Hunter Biden's paintings are featured sold one of his works to a top Democrat donor who is a friend of the Biden family and was, according to a new report, named by the president to a prestigious commission.
Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has more.
LA real estate investor Elizabeth Hirschnaftali, who has given tens of thousands of dollars to the political left, is one of the buyers.
of Hunter Biden's artwork. Several months after Hunter's art went on sale, the president appointed
Naftali to the Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad. In addition,
according to the Washington Free Beacon, she has visited the White House 13 times, including a meeting
with a top White House advisor. The date of her purchase is unclear, though the appointment and all
of her White House visits took place after Hunter's first art show. The White House has maintained
that there is a wall between Hunter's art sales and his father. All interactions regarding
the selling of art and the setting of prices will be handled by a professional gallerist
adhering to the highest industry standards. And the gallerist will not share information about buyers or
prospective buyers, including their identities with Hunter Biden or the administration, which
provides quite a level of protection and transparency. NBA star LeBron James' 18-year-old son,
Brani, was rushed to the hospital Monday after suffering a cardiac arrest during a basketball
workout at the University of Southern California. Cranen Company co-host David Cohn joins us with more.
A spokesperson for the James family confirmed Brani's medical scare and according to a TMZ sports report,
the incoming freshman at USC is now in stable condition and out of the ICU.
Sources told TMZ sports that a 911 call was made from the Southern California facility at 926 a.m. Monday
and Brony was unconscious as first responders rushed him to the hospital.
President Biden's German Shepherd commander has bitten seven people in four months from September
2022 to January 2023.
According to the New York Post, one Secret Service agent was even hospitalized due to the attacks.
The president's previous dog, Major, also kept biting people and was eventually sent away.
The country of India banned the export of non-stop.
Bosmati rice last Thursday, triggering a panic around the U.S. as shoppers rushed out to buy rice.
American Indian-owned grocery stores and markets experienced much of the increased demand,
and in turn, prices for the 20-pound bags of rice skyrocketed from $16 to nearly $50 with lines around the block.
India invoked the ban as an attempt to slow down runaway food inflation.
And a defensive end for the Denver Broncos has been suspended indefinitely for breaking
NFL rules regarding gambling. The league announced Monday that Ioma-Awazareke bet on NFL games during the
2022 season. Uwazerike played in eight games last season and was expected to push for more
playing time this season. Those are your drive-home updates this afternoon. To learn more about
