I'm Daily Wire, editor-in-chief John Bickley, with Georgia Howe.
It's Tuesday, September 12th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced today that the House will proceed with an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden.
We were gone in the weeks.
House Republicans have uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden's conduct.
Taken together, these allegations paint a picture of a culture of people.
corruption. Now here's what we know so far. Through our investigations, we have found that
President Biden did lie to the American people about his own knowledge of his family's foreign
business dealings. I do not make this decision lightly. And regardless of your party or who you
voted for, these facts should concern all Americans. The American people deserve to know
that the public offices are not for sale.
A Pennsylvania inmate who escaped nearly two weeks ago is now considered armed and extremely dangerous
after police say he stole a rifle from a homeowner's garage.
Hispanic male roughly 30 years of age, five foot.
Currently shirtless and blue pan, known to have a 22 cutoff rifle with a scope and a flashlight.
Dinello Cavalcante, a 34-year-old illegal immigrant from Brazil,
escaped from the Chester County Prison around 8.30 a.m. on August 31st, just a couple of
of weeks after being convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend. This morning, Pennsylvania State Police
Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens said that a homeowner fired several shots at Calvocante when the prisoner
stole a rifle from the residence garage. Police do not believe Calvacante was injured in the shootout
and was believed to be in Chester County's South Coventry Township as of Monday night.
As a reminder, we ask for the public's help by familiarizing themselves with the updated photographs
and description of Cabalcante to check security.
cameras they have and to call us immediately if they believe they may have seen him.
Again, we ask residents to please secure homes, outbuildings, and vehicles.
Now police say that 500 law enforcement officers are searching for Cavalcante.
Authorities say the next 24 hours are crucial.
President Biden faced a wave of backlash on social media after he falsely claimed to have
visited Ground Zero in New York City one day after the terrorist attacks on September 11th.
2001. Daily Wire reporter, Zach Jewell, has more. In delivering remarks to U.S. troops in Alaska
on the 22nd anniversary of 9-11, Biden stressed the phrase never forget before speaking of lives
being taken too soon when evil attacked. He then brought up New York City, where hijackers
crashed planes into the towers of the World Trade Center, killing more than 2,700 people.
Browns here in New York, and I remember standing there the next day and looking at the buildings.
I felt like I was looking through the gates of hell.
It looked so devastating because the way you could,
from where you could stand.
The president was not, in fact, standing at the side of the World Trade Center that next day.
He was in Washington, D.C.
The Biden administration has signed off on a deal to release five Iranian prisoners
and $6 billion in frozen assets in exchange for five Americans held captive in Iran.
Here with more is Daily Wire researcher Trevor Mock.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken approved the deal last week, and Congress was notified Monday as lawmakers and officials honored the 22nd anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 terror attacks, according to the Associated Press.
In exchange for the prisoners, the United States will issue a waiver for banks in South Korea and Qatar to allow Iran access to billions of dollars without fear of violating U.S. sanctions.
The funds will be transferred to Qatar's central bank where the Iranian government can make requests to pay for humanitarian goods out of the account.
Iran is a prolific state sponsor of terrorism and has been hampered by strict U.S. sanctions
since former President Donald Trump pulled the U.S. out of the Iran nuclear deal in 2018.
Hundreds of bodies have been found in the wreckage of Libya's eastern city of Durna today.
Officials fear the death toll could rise rapidly, with 10,000 people still reported missing.
The devastation was brought by Mediterranean storm Daniel, which brought significant swells causing flooding.
Outside help started arriving today over 36 hours after the disaster struck.
The floods damaged or destroyed many access roads around the coastal city.
Arrow Smith lead singer Stephen Tyler has injured his vocal cords, forcing the legendary band
to postpone the next six shows as part of their farewell tour.
The 75-year-old rock star said he strained his singing voice during a show in Long Island over the weekend.
And New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rogers is out for the season after tearing his Achilles tendon during the opening game of the season Monday night.
The 39-year-old played just three snaps in his first season with the new team before suffering the devastating injury.
Here's Jets head coach Robert Sala after the game.
Personally, I don't hurt for me.
I don't hurt for our locker room.
I hurt for Aaron and how much he's invested in all of this.
You know, so I'm still going to say prayer.
I'm still going to hold out hope.
but, you know, my heart's with Aaron right now and nowhere else.
