Starting point is 00:00:02 I'm Daily Wire, editor-in-chief John Bickley, with Georgia How. It's Thursday, November 9th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update. After the White House announced, Israel will implement daily four-hour humanitarian pauses in its attack against Hamas. The Jewish nation refuted the claim. Following the White House's announcement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office issued a statement saying, quote, the fighting continues and there will be no ceasefire without the release of our hostages. This comes as the Biden administration has been pressuring Israel to implement. the pauses, in some cases, asking for pauses much longer than a few hours. President Biden said today that he asked for a much longer pause. Here's what he said when asked about Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Mr. President, are you frustrated with Prime Minister Netanyahu that he has not listened more to some of the things you have asked him to do? It's taking a little longer than I hope. A screening in Los Angeles last night of footage of the atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists on October 7th, sparked. street brawls between pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel demonstrators. The screening was put on by Israeli actress Gao Gadot. Video across social media shows people waving flags and punching and kicking each other in the streets.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Here's a bit from the chaos. Several people were seen being detained late Wednesday, but it was not immediately clear if anybody was arrested or will face charges. Godot screening had fielded a lot of controversy and social media threats. early on. Pro-Palestinian supporters accused the actress of supporting quote-unquote genocide by showing the footage of the Hamas attacks, while backers of the Jewish nation defended her. The Pentagon has confirmed four new attacks on Iraq and Syria-based U.S. forces. This follows a U.S. airstrike on a weapons storage facility in eastern Syria used by Iranian-backed groups. Starting point is 00:02:03 We're not looking for conflict with Iran. We've made that very clear, but we'll do what's necessary. to protect our personnel, be they military or civilian. The depot was known to be used by Iran's Revolutionary Guard. Officials say the strike triggered secondary explosions, likely from weaponry inside. The U.S. believes that no civilians were killed, and any people in or around the warehouse were tied to the Revolutionary Guard or Iran-backed militia groups. West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin announced via social media today
Starting point is 00:02:34 that he will not be seeking re-election to the Senate in 2025. While this announcement gives Republicans an opportunity to pick up a seat, it also comes as rumors have swirled about mansions seeking a third-party run for the White House. Police in Nashville say they've placed seven employees on administrative leave just days after writings reportedly from the Covenant School shooter were released online. Faley Wire reporter Zach Jewel has more. The Metro Nashville Police Department says they're continuing their investigation into how these writings got out and who released them. A department spokesperson says the employees were placed on leave to protect the integrity of the investigation.
Starting point is 00:03:12 The spokesperson also says the decision to put the employees on leave was, quote, absolutely non-punitive. On Monday, three images purported to be the writings of the Covenant School shooter were posted online by a conservative podcast host Stephen Crowder. Today is the first day in over six months that neither Hollywood actors nor writers will be on strike. The tentative contract reached late last night will still need to be approved by the Board of Sets. SAGAFTRA and its members in the coming days. But union leadership said the strike came to an end at 12.01 a.m. this morning, putting a majority of the industry back into production. Duncan Crabtree Ireland, SAGAFTRA's executive director and chief negotiator,
Starting point is 00:03:53 said the gains made in the deal justified the struggle. This is the first time that we've ever had a deal that was valued at over a billion dollars in gains during the term of the contract. And that really means a lot. Donald Trump will appear on the Minnesota primary ballot. This comes after the state Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit seeking to end the former president's candidacy on Wednesday. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has more. The suit sought to use Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to keep someone who engaged in insurrection from holding office.
Starting point is 00:04:23 The ruling says that state law allows parties to put whomever they want on the primary ballot. The court did, however, leave open the possibility that plaintiffs could try again to knock Trump off the general election ballot in November. The Minnesota Challenge was filed by the liberal group, Free Speech for People, which has said it will continue its campaign to end Trump's presidential bid.
