I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire editor-in-chief John Bickley.
It's Wednesday, October 23rd, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
Border Patrol agents are accusing the Biden-Harris administration.
of trying to improve immigration optics with just under two weeks till the election.
Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has more.
Agents report being ordered to expedite deportations and relocate migrants from San Diego to Texas and the battleground state of Arizona.
Agents called it a blatant attempt to improve the administration's image before the election.
The administration has for months touted a drop in illegal border crossings following new asylum restrictions,
which were essentially revived from the Trump era.
In the San Diego sector, Border Patrol facilities,
have struggled to cope with the number of migrants coming across. Officials say it's because
migrants have a better chance of staying in the country due to an order that agents release migrants
for more than 100 countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa into the U.S.
Vice President Kamala Harris sat down for an interview last night with NBC's Halle Jackson,
in which they touched on the issues of abortion, trans rights, and Biden's cognitive decline,
among others. Daily Wire senior reporter Mary Margaret O'Lean has more.
When Jackson questioned Harris about whether she was,
would support religious exemptions to abortion, Harris shocked pro-life advocates and defenders
of religious freedom by her response. Here's how she answered.
I don't think we should be making concessions when we're talking about a fundamental freedom
to make decisions about your own body. Top pro-life leaders said Wednesday that Harris was
expressing support for unconstitutionally forcing medical professionals to violate their religious
beliefs by performing abortions of unborn babies. Catholic vote, for example, questioned
why would any Christian vote for her? And in another point,
part of the interview, Harris sidestepped a question about whether she believes that trans-identifying
Americans should have access to so-called gender-affirming care, like puberty blockers and
transgender surgeries. Here's part of what she said.
I believe that all people should be treated with dignity and respect, period, and should not be
vilified for who they are, and should not be bullied for who they are. And that is a true statement
for me, my entire career, and that has not changed.
Harris also dodged a question about Biden's mental decline.
Can you say that you were honest with the American people
about what you saw in those moments with President Biden
as you were with him again and again repeatedly in that time?
Of course. Joe Biden is an extremely accomplished, experienced,
and capable in every way that anyone would want if they're president.
You never saw anything like what happened at the debate in?
night behind closed doors with him? It was a bad debate. People have bad debates.
He is absolutely, but that's the reason why you're here and he's not running for the top of the
ticket. The Atlantic is under fire for a report that claims Donald Trump supposedly disparaged a
slain Army Private over the cost of her funeral. Daily Wire Deputy Managing editor Tim Rice has more.
Army Private Vanessa Guienne's family attorney and her sister have denied the claims, calling them
politically motivated. Her sister said, Trump did nothing but show respect to my family in Vanessa.
In fact, I voted for President Trump today. Former White House officials, including Mark Meadows,
have also publicly slammed the report as false. In addition, critics have questioned the timing
of the story coming just weeks before the election. The Atlantic, which has endorsed Kamala Harris
and is partly owned by Democrat mega donor and close friend of Harris, Lorraine Powell Jobs,
has not yet commented on the disputed claims. This episode is brought to you by

a key figure expected to succeed Hassan Nasrallah. The airstrike earlier this month also
reportedly killed about 25 other senior Hezbollah members. This development coincides with
Secretary of State Anthony Blinkin's visit to Israel, where he met with officials and encouraged
them to leverage the situation to end the war in Gaza. A Hezboa launched projectile was reportedly
intercepted not far from Blinken's hotel. The secretary told reporters that there remains an opportunity
for the region to move toward peace. One that actually provides in a durable way for Israel's security,
for its place in the region, a country that's integrated, working with its Arab partners,
accepted by them, isolating Iran and those who are trying to disrupt and destroy people's lives.
You've got an axis of resistance on the one hand.
You can see a partnership for peaceful coexistence on the other hand.
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin says that North Korean troops are in Russia, possibly preparing for deployment in Ukraine.
If they're co-belligerents, their intention is to participate in this war on Russia's behalf, that is a very, very serious issue.
And it will have impacts not only in Europe, it will also impact.
things in the Indo-Pacific as well.
South Korean intelligence agencies believe around 3,000 North Korean soldiers have already been sent to
Russia, with more expected by December.
While North Korea denies any involvement, Austin noted that this situation could impact
security dynamics in both Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
And it is because of my love for our country, and specifically because of the leadership
that President Trump has brought to transform the Republican Party.
and bring it back to the party of the people and the party of peace,
that I'm proud to stand here with you today, President Trump,
and announce that I'm joining the Republican Party.
Former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard
officially announced her switch to the Republican Party
during a Trump rally in North Carolina.
The former Democrat has also taken on a role
as honorary co-chair for Trump's campaign transition team.
Gabbard, who previously served in Congress
and was a vice chair of the Democratic National
committee left the Democratic Party in 2022 to become an independent.
