It's been two years since the heinous Hamas terror attack on Israel.
How has Israel's position changed in the region?
We were attacked on October 7th and everybody thought Israel was doomed.
We can all acknowledge and in some ways also celebrate the fact that we rose from the ashes.
I'm Georgia Howe. John is out this week.
It's Tuesday, October 7th, and this is Morning Wire.
Trump is pushing ahead with National Guard deployments despite a fierce legal fight.
And Chicago police were ordered to stand down as ICE agents were being attacked.
Save Chicago. It's a great city. It's going to be lost if you don't do it. We have no choice but to do this.
And the president joins Republicans in calling for Democratic Attorney General nominee Jay Jones to exit the Virginia race after his violent text messages were revealed.
We had Charlie Kirk assassinated and so many folks celebrated in the far left. And now Jay Jones comes out and says that he was, too,
for Todd Gilbert's head and wants to see his children die.
Thanks for waking up with Morning Wire.
Stay tuned.

Israel's two-year war in Gaza may be coming to an end after a U.S.-backed peace proposal won widespread backing across the Middle East.
Here to talk about the Middle East on the second anniversary of the October 7th attack on Israel is Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce.
So Tim, let's talk about the latest with the hostage negotiations.
Where do things stand now?
Right. Negotiators are meeting in Egypt as we speak to hammer out the details of the peace framework presented by President Trump.
Already there is split, so there's no certainty that the negotiations will get past the initial stage.
Hamas has agreed to release all of the hostages, but it hasn't agreed to the three-day timeline,
nor has it agreed to demilitarize, nor swear off any future involvement in Gaza's governance.
But the president is optimistic.
He's treated just Tamas's willingness to have a conversation as a win.
Now, today is two years since the October 7th attacks, and a lot has transpired in the region
just in that time. Where do things stand for Israel now as compared to 2023?
Yeah, a lot has changed in the past two years. Back in 2023, Saudi Arabia was close to joining
the Abraham Accords and normalizing relations with Israel. Tamas, that would have been a disaster.
It needs Israel isolated. At the same time, Israel was wrong.
roiled by judicial reform. There were massive protests in the streets.
Israeli society seemed to be tearing itself apart. Hamas sentenced weakness, and it needed to break up
Arab-Israeli relations, so it attacked. As an Iranian proxy group, it received help from Iran
and its massive network of terror groups. Tehran is the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the
world, and prior to October 7th, it had used its web of terror groups to surround Israel. But now,
as of 2025, that web has serious holes. Two years after, October 7th, Israel,
Israel is in a much stronger position in the Middle East.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu actually talked about that in an interview with DailyWires
Ben Shapiro yesterday.
Here's what he said.
Two years later, we've smashed the Iran axis, smashed most of its proxies.
Hamas, not finished yet, but we'll get there.
Hizbalah, Syria is gone.
Smashed also Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile program.
Still there, but it rolled it really back with.
President Trump's help, and the Houthis who are threatening the entire world and maritime shipping.
So Israel emerged from this horrible day as the strongest power in the Middle East.
Now, as much progress, though, as Israel has made with their security in the Middle East,
we've still seen an eruption of anti-Semitism and general sentiment, anti-Israel sentiment
across the West at large.
What can you tell us about those trends?
Yeah, support for Israel is fading in the West.
Canada, the UK, and France recently recognized the non-existent state of Palestine.
Trump has called that a reward for terrorism.
And polling in the United States suggests some bad trends for Israel as well.
According to a Washington Post poll conducted last month, support for Israel among American Jews has taken hits.
The number of them who say the U.S. supports Israel too much has grown to 32 percent,
a 10-point increase since 2020 and a 21 point increase since 2013.
This trend is probably best seen politically in what has happened to the Democratic Party,
where the Palestinian cause has become somewhat of a litmus test among progressives.
Yesterday, Nanyahu talked a bit about American support for Israel
and made his case why the relationship is still important.
Here's some of that.
But the other thing is the technology.
You know, Iron Dome, Israel developed it, share it with America.
Arul missiles, they shoot these missiles from the sky, way, way up.
An altitude developed by Israel, co-shared with America.
What about offensive weapons?
Well, I can tell you we shared it with America, but I can't share it with you.
Okay?
The most advanced offensive weapons on the planet, things that none of the superpowers have,
developed by Israel, shared with America.
So the trend in the United States is moving against Israel,
which is something that Jewish state has to be concerned about,
considering how much support it receives from Washington.
Well, it's definitely a trend I've seen both on the left and on the right.
Tim, thanks for reporting.
Thanks for having me.
You know, I'm the kind of guy who really enjoys cooking.
I take pride in what I put on my plate.
So when I learned that over 4 billion pounds of meat were imported into the U.S. last year
and can still be labeled like it's from here, I just couldn't get it out of my head.
That's what led me to good ranchers.
All their meat is 100% American sourced from right here from local farms and ranches.
I can taste it in every bite.
Personally, I love to give my good rancher steak a good dry rub before satan.

Welcome to the table.
Violent assaults against federal immigration authorities continue in Illinois, prompting
the Trump administration to send hundreds of Texas National Guard troops to Chicago.
Daily Wire immigration reporter Jenny Tare is here with the latest.
So, Jenny, I know some of this is in legal limbo right now, but tell us about this latest
deployment and how leaders in the sanctuary state of Illinois are responding.
Right.
So right now, like you said, legal limbo, there's an active
legal fight and a hearing is set for Thursday on this. Now, hundreds of troops were deployed
yesterday to Chicago from Texas. This is a big move and I spoke to Homeland Security officials
and they tell me that they're not going to stop on this. They're not going to let up on the mass
deportation effort amid the ongoing assaults against them and they're also not going to let up
on these troop deployments. Across the country, there's a thousand percent increase in
assaults on ICE agents. In Chicago in particular, we've seen a number of recent pretty egregious
assaults by leftist agitators on the ICE detention center in Broadview, Illinois, and then also
on ICE agents and Border Patrol agents who have also been deployed to assist in these efforts
across the city, putting these agents and officers at risk. Now, what about the state of Illinois?
How are they responding? Right. So the state of Illinois has actually responded with
lawsuit. They say that the effort by the Trump administration to deploy Texas troops is unconstitutional,
that it's an invasion of the state. The city's mayor, Chicago, Brandon Johnson, he is calling out
the Trump administration as well. And in fact, he's creating these, quote, ice-free zones where he's saying
that ICE and Border Patrol cannot go in the city. So these are city buildings, and he's calling
on local businesses to participate as well to essentially shield illegal immigrant criminals
who are roaming the streets. So he's kind of doubling down because you have the sanctuary state,
sanctuary city law already in place. And then at the same time, there's more places for illegal
immigrant criminals to run and hide in the view of ICE and federal law enforcement sources that
I've talked to. Now, just over the weekend, we had that incident in Illinois where several cars
rammed into ice agents. There was an altercation. A woman was shot. There have been some developments
in that story since then. What do we now know about what happened that day? Right. So we know that a
convoy of vehicles essentially rammed into border patrol agents who were again out there as part of this
mass deportation effort. You had two anti-ice agitators who were allegedly orchestrating this,
one who was armed, which then led to a border patrol agent who was under assault. It's
the time firing shots at this individual, a U.S. citizen, who's also said to be subject of a
law enforcement alert that went out recently about the threats of doxing of agents. So this is all
part of these ongoing assaults against these law enforcement officers out there. What also
happened during this assault is that the Border Patrol agents who were on scene were also
facing a group of rioters that had amassed following the shootout.
And they needed support, they needed reinforcements from the Chicago Police Department.
They called them in.
And those officers were actually told to stand down.

Now, tell us where do things stand broadly on the deportation efforts?
Right. So the Trump administration's operations and the surrounding areas of Chicago have already
yielded a thousand arrests. It started in early September. So we're already seeing a huge success
with this. And they're not going to stop. That's what the administration is saying. And that's what
my sources on the ground are saying that this continues despite all the backlash, despite these
lawsuits that are ongoing. And this is also happening.
amid the shutdown, the government shutdown.
These ice-free zones, again, will only protect and shield illegal immigrant criminals,
just as sanctuary cities and states do.
This could, in fact, be deemed as harboring illegal immigrant criminals,
which could actually be a violation of federal law,
something the Trump administration could use against the city of Chicago.
All right. Well, Jenny, thank you so much for reporting.
Thank you.
A political firestorm is raging in Virginia over text messages that show,
Democratic Attorney General nominee Jay Jones fantasizing about violence against a GOP colleague. Daily Wire
Culture reporter Megan Basham is here now with more. So Megan, just to start, can you walk us through
the revelations about Jones texts? What did he actually say? Yeah, so this controversy centers on
texts that Jay Jones, who was then a Democratic delegate, sent to Republican delegate Kerry
Coiner in August of 2022. And in them, he fantasized about,
about the murder of then House Speaker Todd Gilbert, a Republican.
So here's what Jones said.
Three people, two bullets, Gilbert, Hitler, and Pol Pot, Gilbert gets two bullets to the head.
Spoiler, put Gilbert in the crew with the two worst people you know, and he receives both
bullets every time.
Now, when Koiner asked Jones to stop and suggested that these kinds of remarks were inappropriate,
he continued, even referencing Gilbert's children.
Coiner said at that point, you were talking about hoping Jennifer Gilbert's children would die,
and Jones didn't deny it. Instead, he said, I told you this before. Only when people feel pain
personally, do they move on policy. So basically suggesting that violence might be necessary in order to
achieve political goals. And then he said, do I think Todd and Jennifer are evil and they're breeding
little fascists? Yes. So he also went on to fantasize about attending the funerals of other
Republican lawmakers, saying he would piss on their graves and send them out a wash in something.
So Jones has now apologized.
He said that reading back those texts makes him sick to his stomach.
But he also says that he's staying in the race and he placed some of the blame for this becoming
a story at all on quote unquote Trump controlled media.
Very appalling sentiments, definitely.
How are people responding?
Is this going to ruin his chances?
Well, you know, that really depends on where you look.
On the Republican side, obviously there has been universal condemnation and calls for him to leave
this race.
Lieutenant Governor winsome Earl Sears, who is also running for governor.
And Attorney General Jason Mierrez, who is Jones's opponent in this race, both say that
the texts are disqualifying.
President Trump also said that he needs to go.
And Virginia Governor Glenn Yonkin has called these texts demented.
But while some Democrats are condemning the remarks, not a single prominent Democrat has
called for Jones to leave this race over his desire, his expressed wishes for Republican officials
and even their children to face death.
Daily Wire spoke to Republican candidate for Virginia's lieutenant governor race, John Reed,
and he told us that not demanding accountability for this kind of violent rhetoric actually
encourages further violent acts.
Look, I mean, the Democrats have a violence problem.
They talk about it nonstop.
should show some self-for-strength when you see the pattern of Democrat leaders who are constantly
kind of fanning the flames and then acting like they don't understand why people are
taking them up on killing quote unquote Nazis and killing fascists or attacking fantasy white supremacists.
Now, to Reed's point, just last week, Republican delegate Geary Higgins received a text from a man
that said this, I will shoot you at your next public rally, then send you memes with the photos.
I know where your effing kids are, too. Days earlier, Republican delegate, Kim Taylor,
received a similar message. So really, this is an ongoing problem. Well, Virginia is often
considered a bellwether for national mood, so we're going to be watching this very carefully.
Megan, thanks for reporting. Yep, my pleasure. Thanks for waking up with us. And if you're watching
on YouTube, please like and subscribe. We'll be back later. Later this.
evening with more news you need to know.
